Parking: It is medium size but the restaurant is in a shopping center so it can be difficult to find a parking spot depending on the time. Time and Day: Ate on a Thursday afternoon at 1:00 PM and was only about 10% full. So it was a good time to come in. At this location, you seat yourself and someone will come by and take your order. Food: I ordered the Country Fried Steak with sunny side up eggs, bread, and fruits as my side ($10.23). It was nice for them to put the gravy in separate bowl for me so I can pour the right amount of gravy. The country fried steak was mediocre, wasn't blown away by it but it was good enough to satisfy me. Eggs were perfect and fruit tasted fresh. Overall, the food was decent and is comparable to the food at Denny's or IHOP. I had no complaints but was not blown away. Service: Since there were only a small group of people in the diner, our waitress easily took my order. However, I noticed the food took a little bit longer than expected. Considering that there were very few customers eating at the time, I would think the food would come out faster. But anyways, the waitress did do quick check-ups on me to see if I needed anything else after bringing me my food and my check. When it came to paying, you have to come up to the cashier in the front and pay. Price: My meal was basically $10 and I say it was worth it. Can't say no to cheap country fried steak. Overall: Cheap, decent breakfast place with okay service. I would come back if I was in the mood for some country fried steak with eggs.

I tell you what. I was so glad this spot opened near my place. This is by far the best bang for your buck....the dollar will stretch a mile in this joint, and it is all some serious good breakfast when you don't wanna cook. Maybe it i the loads of butter and salt. Maybe it is the savory smell bacon! Either way I have a motto here. Just Eat It! Bacon, Eggs over easy....but the best one for me is the Chicken Friend Steak and Eggs!!!! Note to self: Find a way to make this a weekly breakfast thing.

This will be my last time dining at Franks. I don't care if the food is good, bad service is a turn off when I can go down the street to other places. We waited 40 minutes on our food, after all of the other tables who ordered well after us received their food. Then the server, Matt I believe? Horrible. Couldn't consolidate he was running around everywhere except for his section. All the tables were waiting on drinks. Just not worth it! Good service is a must in my book!

I love this place!!! They have the best breakfast ever even when it is packed you get seated very quickly. Sometimes the food takes a while but it is definitely worth the wait. I love the fact that they always have the same waiters/ waitresses very good look. If you ever want a quick, cheap meal come to franks they have breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I waited for 20 minutes as waiters and workers walked by and I guess the hostess was too busy rolling silverware to notice I was standing at the hostess podium to be seated. After 20 minutes I left. The next week I decided to give them another shot at the urging of my girlfriend. This time we only waited 10 minutes before the realized we weren't invisible but nonetheless, the food was pretty good and the prices were good as well

I was expecting greatness coming here, but I just wasn't that impressed after we left. Sure they give you a lot of food, but the service was not very good on a Sunday morning, and the quality is average to poor. We ordered a single biscuit and gravy, a chicken fried chicken and waffle and a 2 egg plate with sausage, biscuit, 1/2 hash brown 1/2 grits. Our waitress allowed the food to be plated with no grits, so we had to track her down again and ask for those. There is no real butter at this restaurant, you are forced to use the butter/margarine spread in the small packets. The only other thing they can bring you is "melted butter", which I'm guessing may not even be real butter either. CFC was good though, and they give you the whole breast, both sides of the chicken! It extends over the plate, must have been a big bird! Gravy is a little on the bland side. I thought the biscuits were good but nothing magical. If the gravy maybe had sausage in it, then they'd be much better tasting. We asked for eggs over medium. Instead they came out over easy with both the egg whites and yolks very runny. Belgium waffle was good, but not crispy, a little soft and mushy. The waitress also messed up on our check, and overcharged us for an extra biscuit, but we got that corrected. We inquired if their orange juice was fresh squezed, but it wasnt. So we didn't order it....lol Basically, if you're looking for a fattening meal with large portions, and you don't care about quality or sketchy service, this may be your kinda place.

You can never go wrong with a Southern-styled breakfast! I'm a Cali girl, but my inner fatness loves me some biscuits and gravy, hash n' grits, etc. My breakfast staple, however, is waffles, eggs and bacon. I've managed to try a variety of things from Frank's, and if you can get past the horrible parking lot traffic on the weekends and the (sometimes) scatter-brained staff, then you're in for a treat. The first time I came, I ordered to-go and perhaps it was starvation or exhaustion from trying to find parking (and Cane's threatening to tow my car if I parked in any of their designated spaces), but I ate much too quickly to give an accurate account. I'm now more strategic and know just when to go so that I'm in and out in no time. Upon returning, I think it's worth it whenever you're in the area. The food leaves you full for quite some time. What I love best are the eggs. I'm very picky about my eggs and I'm used to most diners serving what I like to call 'astronaut food' (powdered, unidentifiable, etc.), but the eggs here are good. And with cheese, grilled onions and a little Tobasco added, it's as close to homemade as you can get from a diner. Bertha approves!

Not sure about every one else but my review isntotally based on the food. My grilled fish was battered (since when do u batter grilled food), my over medium eggs were over easy and my biscuit was over cooked. I did like the grits though. I hate that I'd been dieing to eat hear and I was totally disappointed.

They get a C for effort but the food is so mediocre .. I'd rather pay for quality before quantity* They've mastered how to make Their dishes semi presentable but beyond look it isn't a desired taste or flavor My Cajun pallet is Use to!

We only had to wait 5 minutes on a busy Saturday morning which was great since we had two squirmy toddlers. My nearly 4 year old son is autistic and started having a rowdy meltdown when we tried to put him in the high chair and a staff member thoughtfully tried to give him a sausage patty and was very kind. Our waitress was attentive, helpful with our kids and prompt. Service couldn't have been better. I ordered an omelet with "well done" onions, mushrooms & cheese, "well done" hash browns (after reading the reviews about them being soggy) & biscuits. Mind you, this is an absurd amount of food for me but I was excited about having a little bit of all of them. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak & eggs with hash browns and also ordered them "well done" and we got the chocolate chip pancakes off the kids menu for the kids to share with bacon. My omelet was pretty good, both our hash browns had a few crispy spots but we're still soggy so say the least. I'm spoiled on the fountainview cafe's flawless hash browns. The biscuits were burned on the bottom so I tore that part off but they were still over done on top. The middle was good, though. Wish that I could have had them cooked properly because they look divine in previous reviewers pics. My husband's chicken fried steak was ok. Crispy breading and good white gravy on the side but it seemed like it might have fallen off the Sysco truck (pre-made & they just tossed it in the deep fryer). The chocolate chip pancakes were a big hit with our kids and they actually put them in the batter rather than on top so that makes for much less mess for us. The bacon? Flawless. Seriously. It's perfect and everything that bacon should be. We'll probably give franks another shot with the hope that our service is just as good and that the food is better. :)

First time here. Normally can't catch them open due to their short hours. There is no seating rotation/host that is why likely waiters are over whelmed. Had the eggs and bacon. Eggs were fluffy bacon cooked to perfection, pancakes a little greasy but good. The manager just seemed take a seat watch the chaos. Service was not good. At first super friendly at but I found me self waiting ten minutes for hot syrup. So I just asked someone else. Blahhh not really worth the wait and bad service

This place is AMAZING and defines what a "bang for your buck" means! Prices are cheap the food is delicious with large portions, so bring your appetite or you can always split a dish with a friend. Service is impeccable! Our waiter Matt was so nice and fast and not once did we have to ask for anything because he was on top of everything. Next time I'm in houston this will be my first stop!

All I can say is FAST PACED AND AMAZING DINER FOOD. If you had a night of drinking or had a overnight shift and want some good breakfast then this is the place to go. They have no problem giving you large portions of food. The plates will cover two meals in a day. Waffle was flavorful, my eggs were made perfectly, grits had a good consistency and bacon was thick and not over cooked. The only problem I had was the waiter got into an altercation with the Head cook and the waiter was sweating everywhere. To the point, they sent the waiter outside to blow off some steam. At least I got some entertainment while eating...LOL! Overall experience was good ...I will go back. Oh!...Biscuit was amazing!!!

I only order to go here, since I live so close to this location. But the ladies during the weekend are more than sweet and helpful when I place my order. Eggs are always perfect and hash browns are awesome. Parking gets a little bad during peak hours but that's expected when you're in a strip center . If you want 5 star restaurant service , I suggest you come in earlier or go spend 3 times as much at a less crowded gourmet dining establishment .

Service was bad no help not even for drinks, 7 tables with 2 people at most. Was told sit where ever I like when I walked in, that was the last anyone said anything to me. They didn't even care when we got up to leave for getting no service. Sorry Franks you were my favorite breakfast restaurant now I'll probably not go back I'm now at Dennys down the street.

The wife and decided to try Frank's this morning, as we've been searching for a decent breakfast. Don't waste your time. We arrived to a full dining room, and were greeted by a hostess who took our name, for a booth request. We slide off to the side to allow others through. After waiting for the booth for about 25 minutes, we noticed that others who'd arrived after us were being seated, in booths! I was livid and asked the hostess as to why those who'd arrived after us were being seated. She'd stated "oh, I thought that y'all left". We were standing ten feet away the whole time. I'm not hard to miss at 6'2", and she never called our name. I never heard her call one name from the list, it appeared that she was just seating people at her discretion, favoring the local clientele, perhaps? This was just the beginning of a long ordeal. The service was sub par, and the food was just ok. Portions were large, but the food is nothing to brag about. The wife ordered the French toast and I asked for the chicken fried steak and eggs. The French toast came out ok. My eggs were over cooked, and the CFS was heavily breaded. More breading than meat. The gravy was from a box. The has Browns tasted of rancid cooking oil. We ran out of coffee and were not refilled for twenty minutes. The food arrives about 45 minutes after ordering. The waitress apologized for taking so long, as they were training someone. BS. We wasted an hour and a half for this? Don't do it.

Can't really say this is the best breakfast in Texas... But yes it was pretty good and the waitress was the best! Also for all of you watching your figure, you can get a healthy option here. That was my challenge.... And I feel I accomplished it. Low carb, lower-ish calorie breakfast. I have posted a picture of my egg white omelet with veggies and side of sausage. I would give this place a 3 stars because it wasn't as great as I expected and it was dirty but the waitress was sooooooo nice I'm doing 4 stars. Woman at entrance not so nice though. Am I going back? Probably not but if you're in the area it's a good breakfast option until you've been in there so long and the place starts to smell like eggs.

LaKesha C.
Pretty good place for breakfast or brunch. Inexpensive food, huge portions (1 order of anything is enough for 3-4 people). The service is ok for a diner....I'll go back again.

The service was horrible. The lady who took my order was sweet but there were so many rude people that worked there. I couldn't find my waitress so I asked this other waitress if I could have a side of cheese, and she just stared at me, then turned and walked off. I was kind of shocked and sort of just laughed it off and asked my friends if they saw that, then she turned back around and just glared at me. It was just very strange and rude. Very unpleasant experience.

This place is pretty awesome, I wish it were open longer. We always sit at the bar right next to the action. The pork chops are perfectly seasoned and the waffle was warm and fluffy. The service is OK, every time we've went it was extremely busy. Yesterday I got a breakfast sandwich and it was deliciously grilled. I think next time I'll get the taco, I saw the person next to me had it and it was huge

This place is an awesome all around grill and diner. I've been for breakfast and lunch and have had great experiences all times. For breakfast, in stuck in the breakfast burritos. They're all monstrously loaded 8" burritos that don't lie. They also have some of the best hot sauce I've had in Houston. Seriously, one is more than enough. For lunch, we dined in with family and everyone tried a little of everything. The Burger and fries don't lie. Burger is enormous and tasty. The Cajun seasoned fries were battered to perfection and were amazing. Them chicken fried steak and gravy was great with a side of cabbage and bacon. The omelettes are good, but I prefer the burritos all together. The hash browns were bland and I wouldn't try them again. It was too bad we were so full because the milk shakes looked amazing too. I guess that'll be another trip.
(5)

I had lunch with a coworker here. The food was very bland. I seasoned to my taste with salt and pepper. The omelettes are basic...meat and egg no veggies. If you're looking for cheap food that's microwaved this is your place!!!!

I was not in the mood to come here at all. I wanted pancakes and I wanted pancakes from IHOP. If you know me you know that I feel that IHOP is the only place to make pancakes lol...well I was forced to go to Frank's and let me just say I am happy that I went. Their breakfast is AMAZING and our server was just great and full of energy. I ordered the turkey bacon omelete with a waffle and it was amazing. The pancakes were yummy too. Everything was yummy. I woke up the next morning wanting to go back to Frank's. They get pretty busy but they move fast and the service is on point.

Probably the place in Westchase to have breakfast at.. I always have the traditional breakfast (eggs, turkey bacon, buscuits & gravy) &for lunch fried catfish.. Service is fast & the waitresses r soooo friendly and on top of their game to deliver a great service.. Hands down best place for traditional breakfast & lunch.

I've eaten at 2 other "Franks Grill" and this one is just as friendly and the food is just as good. I'm always happy to eat there. This location did a fine job with my food. I recommend it for great american breakfast food. Fyi, i had 3 scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit and coffee.
(5)
Syara S.
The service is great and friendly faces after a shift at the hospital are always welcome. However, the food is only ok. The french toast was made with regular bread which is a let down from other places in Houston that use texas toast. The bacon, while well cooked, was small and it seemed like I got 2 strips broken into 4. Probably won't be stopping here again.

I like to come here early in the morning to just to enjoy a sit-down breakfast. I appreciate the service at this place. I had French toasts and bacon this morning and it was satisfying. They have that thick smoked bacon that I like. This place reminds of a small town diner. Their fried chicken and waffles are delicious! I gave this place give star because of the personable service!
(5)

I would rather not give them a star, I show up here at 4 because online it says they are open till 9 and the employees were extremely rude and looked filthy. I could not believe their attitude when I went to open the door because it says online they r still open. Extremely rude and everyone looks filthy. People were smoking inside. Filthy, idk how they get by doing what they do. Look into what your eating

Really good service. Very friendly staff. Clean and not greasy smelling. I ordered chicken wings and waffles. Waffles were cooked perfectly. Wings were too but a little salty for my taste. It is served warm syrup. My son order 3 eggs, turkey sausage, hash browns, and a biscuit. The biscuit was HUGE. Hash browns were okay. They were more like mashed potatoe cakes. Portions were big and priced right. This place beats Denny's or IHOP any day. Oh and their iced tea is brewed and sweet. True southern iced tea!

Great breakfast. We ordered french toast tasted decent 3/5. pancakes were huge and fluffy 4/5. eggs tasted like eggs lol sausage is 3/5 but the bacon was thick and crispy 5/5!! And the biscuit and gravy was oh my goodness so tasty solid 11. Must order!! Great overall experience and the workers are very nice. Will come back for sure.

My hubby and I have a love/hate relationship with this place. The food is always phenomenal and you can't beat the price for the amount of food you get. Our favorite is sharing the catfish breakfast. My goodness, what a feast. And some of the best catfish you can get. YUM! The people that work there are -always- as friendly as can be. Courtesy is never an issue. However, the place is always so busy that getting good service is next to impossible. We've been there several times and we're always left waiting so long for something... whether it's for someone to take our order or bring us refills or to get our check... it's always something. I don't want to call anyone in particular down on it (except maybe management) because the service staff is never slacking. They are always go-go-going. But there seems to be no rhyme or reason to their business... no structure to keep them from wasting time. I honestly don't even think it's an amount of staff issue because there always seems to be plenty of people working. It's very frustrating. So, if you're not in a hurry and don't mind waiting, you can't get a better breakfast. But if you're in any kind of hurry, don't stop here, it will just frustrate you.

Excellent service! I went on a Saturday morning and it was not that busy. I ordered the veggie omlette & it came with potatoes and toast. The portion they give you is pretty big.I was looking for something different other than your typical breakfast place & I think I found it, not to mention that my son loves it here. I will definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu =)

Diner type, southern style breakfast..can't go wrong here. I'm sure they can make your eggs any way u want. .go with the half and half.. (half hash and half grits) and I ask my hash to be crispy.

Came here one Sunday morning before heading to church and the place was packed! We say at the bar area, which was perfect view to watch the chef's cook. It kinda of reminder me of Waffle House. I ordered a pancake with bacon an my boyfriend ordered an omelet with hash browns and grits. The food was really good! So good I fell asleep in church lol I will definitely go back!

THE BEST BREAKFAST IN TEXAS! or so the sign says. Well - I say different!! NOT THE BEST!! The food was diner style in bad way. I've had better breakfasts at a truck stop. I so wanted this place to be all it said since it was close to my place. But the coffee was bad, the hashbrowns soggy, and the rest just blah. Could have made better stuff at home and next time I will do just that instead of going here. The staff was confused about who was taking care of who and then ended up not even offering a refill (which I wouldn't have gotten) on my coffee and checking to see if we liked our food. We spent 26.00 bucks on 2 adults and 1 kid.

Yummy breakfast! Hashbrowns are delicious. Waffles cooked perfectly- not too hard and not soft and chewy. Bacon is quality... Not a lot of fat! Adding Frank's to my go to place.

Food was great. Large portions are given here. The staff seem to be on point. We had Matt as our server, who was very tentative to all of his tables. It was not packed at the time that we went but there were a lot of tables filled for breakfast. I ordered the catfish and waffles. Belgian waffle was cooked to perfection, it melted in your mouth. The catfish was huge two pieces of the catfish filled the plate. Hubby had the French toast, egg, hashbrowns, and bacon. The bacon where thick slices and the French toast filled the plate. Our friend had a omelette filled with veggies. The omelette was half the plate. He, our friend nor I were able to finish our food.

I went back probably six months ago. SAME woman seating people. The woman behind the cash register had to tell the hostess that she was seating people out of order. Why do they employe this person? It is a simple task. Also, this was the 2nd time they tried to give me a ham omelette (never ordered it). Food not as good as it used to be.

Not a good first impression. Looked forward to what I had heard was a great breakfast. Unfortunately we left before being served. We were seated by a pleasant hostess immediately but that was the last interaction with any staff member. Even after I went to the hostess and asked for waitstaff none arrived. My wife and I walked out. Total time in the restaurant was 20 minutes. Maybe just a bad day for the waitstaff, but did not seem like they were overwhelmed.

I absolutely love this place! Every time my family and I have come here we get treated so wonderfully. Best customer service experience at a restaurant by far (especially the tall blonde guy who's name I can't remember at the moment lol). The food is amazing as well. The chicken fried chicken and the waffles are to die for. Truly a neighborhood gem. Keep up the awesome work! :)

This is my favorite breakfast place! They give you huge portions for a low price! The service is great and they always remember us! The staff is friendly and they love joking around with each other. If you sit at the bar it's very entertaining! The waffles here are my favorite! They also have good eggs and grits. They are now open for dinner too. The pork chops are great and so are the cheese burgers. I would highly recommend this place!

It's not easy finding the perfect combination of breakfast place for my parents (Dad prefers hole-in-wall, and Mom prefers something nicer), but this made everyone happy! Huge portions! Come hungry. And the waitress was friendly and attentive without hovering. This will be our family breakfast spot for years to come.

It's nice to have another breakfast/lunch place to choose from! My boyfriend and I visited this past weekend around brunchtime; the place was packed! The food smelled great and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. The diner features a large seating area and counter lined with barstools. The menu looked great! So many breakfast selections: chicken and waffles, a variety of omelets cooked to order and a daily special featuring home-cooked veggies and sides. I opted for the PORK CHOPS and EGGS over medium. My boyfriend ordered a southwestern omelet. We waited a longer than usual period because of how busy they were, which was understandable. The waitress was very attentive and sweet. She explained the situation nd came back to check on us several times. We didn't mind, enjoyed a couple of cups of coffee and great conversation! My pork chops were very flavorful, yet a bit on the dry side. The grits were yummy and the BISCUIT--O.M.G. It was humongous and super fluffy- I wish my biscuit had been warm though! Should've taken a picture of it!! All in all, the place has a friendly atmosphere, much better than the Denny's or IHOP anyday! We will definitely come back and give them another chance to bring me a WARM BISCUIT :)

This is the worst location in Houston. I have been going to Franks for years the old location on Mangum and the one at Clay Rd are run like a tight ship. The service at this location on Westheimer is shameful. The worst customer service. You know more about the servers personal lives then you do getting your food in a timely manner. I sent back my chicken fried chicken and the employee humiliated me in front of other customers. The manager did nothing about it. I will drive 30mins for good service so I go to Clay Rd. I recommend you do the same.

This place is overhyped. I went there on a Sunday afternoon and not only was the food horrible ( The eggs were bland and had a weird taste to it and the steaks were extra salty and coated in a weird sauce) but my waitress was extremely rude and disrespectful. From the moment we sat down she was extremely rude and standoffish. Everytime we asked her a question about the menu she would roll her eyes. I understand that it was a very busy day and she had a lot of customer to tend to but when you choose to work as waitress you should at least have the courtesy to be respectful to every customer that comes in even if you are having a bad day.

So growing up in a small Texas town I had the luxury of being able to have a southern home cooked meal any time I wanted. Moving To Houston was a huge change for me, especially as far as food options. I used to own a southern style kitchen restaurant and I have to say this place really brings back memories. The atmosphere is noisy but in a good way. Servers are smiling people are having a good time. It's a great place for family and friends, if you want to get away from the rush of Houston. I came on a Sunday, so I knew it was going to be busy. They sat me in a timely manner, and Ms. Lisa greeted me with a warm hello, how are you. The coffee was on spot. I ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs and grits, and was not dissapointed. Even being short two cooks, my meal came out fast. Definitely will be coming back when I need my home cooked meal kick. Thanks Ms. Lisa for a wonderful experience!!!

My mom and I ate here on a Saturday morning. The first thing I noticed was how crowded the place was.. But hey, it was Saturday morning! Understandable. Compared to the original Frank's this one is a lot bigger and has better seating arrangements. Not pricy at all. Our waitress was a sweetheart, but it was obvious that she was juggling a lot of tables because she kept forgetting some of our requests. I ordered the catfish and waffle; while my mother ordered the wings and waffle, with a side of grits and sunny-side up eggs. The taste? Eh! Not enough flavor for me. Definitely doesn't stand a chance against The Breakfast Klub. The grits were gooey and had no flavor. The eggs were bland. The wings tasted like frozen wings, just fried in grease. The catfish was the best; nice and crispy. Overall, I gave it a 3. I'll stick to the Breakfast Klub and pay the extra money.

Steak and Cheese Omelet was nice and the hash browns were good. The biscuits are just huge and tasty. Nice serving size! Good food at a good price. I think they could have had a bit more seasoning in the omelet but that my personal preference. The Place was packed when I went but it was on fathers day. I don't know what the normal crowd is but my brother who told me about Franks says it stays pretty busy. Happy breakfasting :)

My wife and I love Franks Grill! Their breakfast is awesome! Their biscuits are huge and fluffy and their chicken and waffles are to die for. The restaurant is a little scary and service is just okay, but it's our favorite breakfast/brunch spot.

Are you hungry? Then here's a breakfast place for you! We have never been disappointed with a breakfast at Frank's. It's not gourmet, just good rib-sticking, fill-you-up food. Really hungry? Then try the pork chop and egg with hash browns and biscuit. The pancakes are huge, falling over the side of the plate. My very friendly waiter suggested the turkey sausage, which was good. We've always been lucky enough to have very friendly service. The staff looks like they have fun.

Food is great tasting. Presentation is needing al little help. Staff works hard and service is fairly good for it's class.

This place is awesome!!!!! It's always packed. The prices are amazingly cheap for the amount if food you get. Breakfast here taste "home cooked"... Would def recommend!!!

My husband and I went to Frank's Saturday morning for breakfast for the second time. The service and food got worse instead of better! Even though there were only a few people in the restaurant it took the waitstaff 15 minutes to get us coffee and we had to ask for water. My husband received a bisucit instead of the white toast he ordered, that was taken away and some time later wheat toast arrived. He ate it instead of sending it back. All of our food (I had grits and mini waffles - he had ham, eggs, toast and hash browns) was tepid. The butter would not melt on my my waffles until I flipped them over and buttered the undside. The waffles were tasty but I wish they'd been hot and grits are just not good unless hot!

I brought my daughter in with me this time for a late breakfast and the food was still good. I order from the lunch menu Grilled Chicken breast with mash potatoes and green beans. I highly recommend the green beans. The portions here are big enough to fill any persons appetite. Especially a pregnant woman's appetite. I love their biscuits always fluffy and tasty. I never sit at the tables or booths I like sitting at the bar stools to watch the cooks and to consistently confuse myself on what I have a taste for today. I am so glad they put a Frank's grill by my house.

Best breakfast in Texas... No! But bad enough to warrant a one-two star rating. Even if it is an opinion... Not by a long shot. After eating here despite some of the reviews, I've come to the conclusion that the majority of people here are deducting stars simply based on the fact that Frank's chose to make such a claim and ultimately not meet up to their expectations, whatever they may be Service The staff at Franks were lively and extremely accommodating. Of course they had the malevolent youngster here and there but overall, it's what you'd expect from a bar and grill type place. They got my order right, smiled and brought me everything I needed when I asked. You had a few that went above and beyond which made the experience more the sweeter. Food I had the meat lover taco (which was 5.75 might I add) and the thing was a monster. Ham, sausage and bacon, mixed with cheese, hash and eggs and I was in heaven. It definitely beats any of your other breakfast taquitos from your local fast food joints. My wife had the chicken fried chicken and that too was satisfying. Crispy, seasoned exterior with a piping hot and moist interior. After dining there I'd equate the experience with a combination of Chilis and Waffle House with an extra star for service, quality and taste. In reference to a prior review, you get soft brown parts in the hash when you stir while cooking, which they obviously do. Some people like them with a crunchy top and others like myself prefer them the country way... Soft hash. Also I've never been to a place that seasons the hash (if you know one please point me in the right direction) for obvious reasons. You get table salt and pepper... use them. Needless to say if that type of hash isn't your thing, this joint ain't for you.

So after seeing some of the really great reviews on here I decided to take my aunt who is here visiting from out of town. We were both pretty excited about the place. Little did we know it was all hype. We ordered quite a but of food because we like to try everything. We ordered omelets. I had the meat lovers, Not too bad, not too good. She had two bites of hers and said it had no flavor. Our hash browns we both ordered well done, well...they were done. Crispy on the "outside" still mushy and not really warm on the inside, worst of all there was no flavor. We also got the biscuits that come with the meal. Looked more like rolls and tasted like it was missing something. Also we split a waffle, unfortunately we ate that last. I wanted to really like it and I think I could have because it wasn't bad, it was just cold and that's my fault for waiting so long. It was the only thing that we liked. The coffee came out luke warm, not hot. The service itself wasn't bad, there weren't a lot of ppl in the place. After reading the reviews I wanted so bad to like this place it was just missing too much. I may give it another chance, but not anytime soon.

So if you want a cheap lunch that comes with a lot of food.. Get the pork chops! They are fantastic and you get such a large portion! It's pretty much what has me coming back..

I visited franks on a sunday afternoon with my family and it was extremely crowded. We ordered several different things and when it all comes down to it.. they have the best wings and waffle. It was a crisp fluffly belgiam waffle with well seasoned fried chicken wings. Prices were very affordable and portions are huge. However, as most of the other reviews stated, the staff was perky and energetic but service was poor. It took an a long time to get the table and three times as long for us to get our food. Our waitress was nice but she forgot half of my meal after i saw her write it down as she took my order first. The grits had zero flavor and the I'd stay away from their "biscuits". However, I'd like to return to try some of their other very affordable menu items and the wings and waffle again. I do believe it's tastier than The Breakfast Klub's. Presentation lacks though.

There is no hype to this place you have to try it everything here is delicious. Big portions, great customer service

Hello T.
Came here a few times last year with my exboyfriend and the food was excellent. Breakfast and Lunch are both on point. If I didn't live in DFW I would come here at least once a week. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good home cooked meal. They serve you plenty!!! On my destination list for when I come back to Houston. Just need someone to go with.

As a previous writer said, they set their expectations too high for city-dwellers. "Quality over quantity" is not on their radar, but they sure will fill you up for less. Piles of really, really, average food.

Okay, so they may not have the best breakfast in town as they claim, but I really like it here. I love their French toast, and the sausage omelet. I'm also a big fan of their hash browns. The environment is very down to earth, and for the most part their service is pretty friendly. There is one waitress whose section I try to avoid whenever possible, but my husband and I are pretty much regulars now at Frank's Grill. The one in Pasadena is pretty good too.

Great place for breakfast. Sunday morning the place is empty, the service is great, and the food is just what you need.

I have to agree with Robyn W. Franks Grill claiming to be the best breakfast in Texas is presumptuous to the point of absurdity. The hash browns are just plain bad. They totally lack seasoning. How do you not get brown parts soggy and not crispy? Sad to say Dennys (/shudder) is a better choice.

This was my first visit to Frank's Grill and, I will admit, my expectations were high. I ordered a cheeseburger all the way with fries and a sweet tea. I received my order very quick and the burger was good size with lots of fries. The patty was a typical quarter pounder, a little dry, but taste ok after adding a little salt and pepper. They just assumed I didn't want any mustard on it and I think the lack of contributed to the dryness. The fries were standard, out of the box, fast food types, a little on the hard side. The tea was cold, sweet, and fresh brewed. Service was fast and the staff was friendly and attentive. For a weekday lunch hour, it wasn't very busy. However, just a few doors down at "Burger Guys" the line was out the door. I think I'll give them a try next time I'm in the area.

I have to disagree with the two quiche eaters that gave this place low ratings. This is a "mom & pop" style diner, and that is what makes it special. You get real eggs here instead of the egg substitutes that other places use. I've eaten at the Frank's on Bissonnet, and won't eat there again because the service is so bad. This place has good food and good service. The helpings are large (Almost to much), the Chicken fried is a plate full, and I love the breakfast! yums!

(5)Amber G.
(1)Bianca H.
Luv this place.... food great, service great... and just luv the dinner area.. Their catfish plater is my ultimate fav... servers are amazing they are on the go and they never mess up ur order....
(5)Melissa W.
(5)R J.

(4)MsPurty D.
Not sure about every one else but my review isntotally based on the food. My grilled fish was battered (since when do u batter grilled food), my over medium eggs were over easy and my biscuit was over cooked. I did like the grits though. I hate that I'd been dieing to eat hear and I was totally disappointed.
(3)LeScotcia S.

(3)Mona Mii C.
First time eating here the burgers and fries was okay whata burger is better but my overall service was great the waiter Christina was very attentive to my needs she had wonderful customer service
(3)Marlynn M.
(3)Nikki C.
(5)Mel L.
(4)Alicia R.
(4)Chad P.
(1)Glenn H.
(1)Laura C.
(4)LaKesha C.
Pretty good place for breakfast or brunch. Inexpensive food, huge portions (1 order of anything is enough for 3-4 people). The service is ok for a diner....I'll go back again.
(3)Abby W.
(1)Rigo R.
The food was pretty good, although I had to look around to see who was going to take my order. However, the food came fast and it was all well. I will definitely come back.
(4)Jakob L.
(4)Tim P.
(5)Jasper Y.
I had lunch with a coworker here. The food was very bland. I seasoned to my taste with salt and pepper. The omelettes are basic...meat and egg no veggies. If you're looking for cheap food that's microwaved this is your place!!!!
(1)Christian M.
Frank's is always my first choice for a big breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning. Big portions with great service.
(5)Fregilia L.
(5)Mary L.
(5)Brent M.
(5)Syara S.
(3)Konnie T.
(5)Sarah S.
(1)Ummsantos B.
(4)Monica G.
Fresh & yummy breakfast! Breakfast tacos are amazing! the omlets and pancakes are great too.
(5)Nym N.
So much better than Breakfast Klub! Seriously! Very friendly staff esp Christina and food is like home cooking. Good breakfast and brunch! The wings and waffles were very good!
(4)Jeremy F.
CHICKEN FRIED STEAK! Thats what I came here for and I was happily satisfied. It was huge, flavorful, and delicious! Everything was priced just right and the portions were huge. Although our service wasn't the greatest I'd definitely come back here again.
(4)Cher G.
They have improved in service yet will always prefer carryout to avoid ok customer service.
(3)Jennifer M.
5 million stars. This place is no joke. Biscuits as big as your face, fried chicken as big as the table. Nothing yet has disappointed.
(5)Kyle S.
I love this place its lively full of people on Sunday before noon everybody's busy great atmosphere sitting at the bar by myself unfortunately. Alone but not alone look at all these people
(4)MikeyVan C.
(4)Carlos G.
Great diner food and staff the tacos are huge the food here will definitely fill you up
(4)Raven K.
(3)Jeanette D.
(5)Thomas M.
Good service and excellent food. Many choices and breakfast all day! I had pancakes and bacon. Bacon was thick and well cooked. We will be returning to this place for sure.
(4)Kiet D.
Diner type, southern style breakfast..can't go wrong here. I'm sure they can make your eggs any way u want. .go with the half and half.. (half hash and half grits) and I ask my hash to be crispy.
(5)Courtney W.

Just had a nice mushroom burger with their fries, it was worth the $11.. I will definitely go back again.

Great food and service! Can get busy on weekends, but's only because they are just that awesome!

Delicioso! Chicken fried steak is amazing. I had it with two perfectly cooked eggs over medium and grits.

Amazing. . Eggs cooked perfect. . CFC was HUGE.. super inexpensive a great find!! thanks Chad P!! Definitely recommend this place! !

(4)Chalupa C.

(4)Shanese R.
This place is awesome!!!!! It's always packed. The prices are amazingly cheap for the amount if food you get. Breakfast here taste "home cooked"... Would def recommend!!!
(4)Beth A.

I love this place... I go often for the breakfast. Grilled chicken breakfast platter is the best!!
(5)Doug B.
So if you want a cheap lunch that comes with a lot of food.. Get the pork chops! They are fantastic and you get such a large portion! It's pretty much what has me coming back..
(5)Steve N.
Great place for breakfast. Busy so it gets a little crowded. Great food, big plates.
(5)Linda N.

(5)Hello T.
(5)Garden V.
As a previous writer said, they set their expectations too high for city-dwellers. "Quality over quantity" is not on their radar, but they sure will fill you up for less. Piles of really, really, average food.
(2)Genie N.
(4)James J.
Great place for breakfast. Sunday morning the place is empty, the service is great, and the food is just what you need.
(4)Tim S.
(1)Clay H.

The helpings are large (Almost to much), the Chicken fried is a plate full, and I love the breakfast! yums!
