SERIOUSLY...THE FOOD AND SERVICE ARE AMAZING! It doesn't get any better than this. We had bone-in filet with king crab, sea bass, skillet potatoes, asparagus, lobster bisque and house salads (kinda ate family style and shared...it was too good to not share). Each course was PERFECT. The bone-in filet was the best filet I have ever had in my life. I have been to many great steak houses over the years...and this is the best of the best. To end the evening we had decaf coffee paired with a pecan pie. It was terrific. The service was attentive, knowledgeable and the servers were always keeping an eye on the progress at the table to be sure everything is timed perfectly. You truly feel pampered. This restaurant is perfect for special occasions such as anniversaries, graduations, birthdays, etc. If I could afford it...I would be on the "meal plan"! ha ha ha. What a treat.

The service here is impeccable. I brought my daughter and her friends for her 18th bday dinner. The server put a candle in all 12 cupcakes without being asked. He also gave her a to go desert gratis. Such a great experience

I wanted a good steak on my Dallas trip and discovered this jewel and was NOT disappointed. This was quite possibly the absolute best meal I have EVER had. And I don't say that lightly. From the bread, croutons & bacon on the salad. To the beautiful glass of pino with my meal. And then there's the 14oz Bone in filet...... Oh MY,,, it was cooked a perfect medium with a wonderful char on the out side. I could tell from bite one that this was not and ordinary steak. I have eaten at a few top notch steak houses around the country and I have to say this was the best by far. The steak absolute melted in your mouth. I find trying to describe how good it was to be difficult. Just treat your self!!! We finished out the meal with a nice pour of Remy 1738, Yum! Everything here was spectacular, GREAT service & atmosphere I will make sure to return every time I'm in Dallas.

Most amazing filet I have ever had!! For restaurant week, I had a fixed menu with limited choices. There was no need for extensive choices because everything I had can be summed up in one word. Phenomenal. My cut of filet was perfectly medium rare as I had ordered it, and it was beyond tender infused with juicy flavor. The filet was drizzled in a delectable mushroom sauce and topped with a jumbo shrimp. My sides were mashed potatoes and green beans (though given a fancier name I cannot remember). The potatoes paired perfectly with the mushroom sauce. To top off the meal, I had a mouth-watering key lime pie that I thought I was too full to dive into. After one bite, I lost myself in the whipped heaven and before I knew it half the pie was gone. The wait staff remained attentive though not bothersome throughout this whole meal and I found myself longing to come back the next night. 5 stars, hands down.

Fantastic steakhouse!! We had a amazing evening with a oysters, a huge steak and an even larger cake. Make sure - no matter how full you are - to ask them to show you the dessert wagon ;) It's fantastic!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! It was my first time at this place and I came for restaurant week. I was pretty excited about it since people have told me before that it's a very good steak house. My friend and I went for Restaurant Week and I couldn't have been more impressed. We both had the house salad with the avocado ranch dressing. DELISH!! And just the right amount of dressing too - it wasn't drowning the salad at all. Then we both ordered the NY strip and it was VERY good. My friend ordered the key lime pie and I ordered the raspberry sorbet and OMG they were out of this world! On top of the delicious meal, our server Brian L was AMAZING! He was personable, knew the menu inside and out, did not rush us and made the overall experience of dining there unbelievable. The funny part was that he boxed up our dinners for leftovers and didn't remember whose belonged to which of us, my friend or myself. We had a good laugh about it and tried to figure it out ourselves. I was very much impressed with this place and cannot WAIT to go back. And kudos to Brian L who made the experience that much better!

Went here for restaurant week, it was excellent. We order two appetizers from the regular menu: foie gras and beef carpaccio, which both melts in your mouth. Next, I got the dry aged NY strip, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and ever so flavorful. It came with French green beans and mashed potatoes which also tasted great. It also came with a slice cheesecake but I was so full, I had to take it to-go. Great food and atmosphere, will definitely have to come back.

Everything is delightful. Yes it is expensive, but you certainly get what you pay for! We have been here on many occasions and the only thing that has ever irked me was when manager asked us to move to a sofa after our meal, to free up a table; we were barely finished eating. When you are paying 500 plus for a meal, you shouldn't have to leave your table before your wine glass is empty! That being said, I can't take a star off for one managers poor judgement. The food is exquisite (steak and lobster, lobster bisque...you name it, it will be good!) and the waitors/waitresses generally offer impeccable service.

My boyfriend surprised me by taking me out to dinner here. Something I've been hinting at. The service was great, consistent. People were nice and accommodating. I felt a little pressured to buy lots of appetizers/sides/drinks, but we wanted to make sure we don't over order so we said no to some of the recommendations. Felt a bit awkward, but it is what it is. I got the bone in ribeye, my boyfriend got the bone in filet mignon. It was pretty good. My ribeye had a few tendons to where I couldn't chew it enough break it down. If I didn't have so many tough pieces, I would've enjoyed it more. My boyfriend's filet mignon was way better. It melted in your mouth. We ordered onion rings and mashed potatoes as sides. We ordered wayyyy to much. Keep in mind the sides feed 2-3 people, so by getting 2 sides we had enough for 4-6 of us. The mashed potatoes were flavorful. The onion rings are HUGE and had this awesome seasoning on it. We took the sides home, and even re-heated it's still good. We also got the midnight dark chocolate cake. BEST CAKE I EVER HAD. I think overall I prefer their crab cakes as an entrée versus their steaks, but that's just my personal opinion. Overall, things I would get again, crab cakes, deviled eggs, and chocolate cake.

You cannot go wrong here! Service, food, and ambiance is out of this world. I'm a rib-eye girl myself but wanted to try something a little different so I got the bone-in filet mignon. Actually, our entire table got the bone-in filet and we were not disappointed. The steak was cooked to perfection and melt-in-your mouth magic. The sides were great as well--we got Potatoes Au Gratin, Lobster Deviled Eggs, and Asparagus. The lobster deviled eggs are a must--don't leave without trying it! Our waitress was wonderful and answered all of our questions. The sommelier was really knowledgeable and understanding of our budget. Overall, wonderful experience. I can't wait to go back!

Devil is in the details and Pappa Bros. has them covered! With 3 visits - they have consistently exceeded - ambiance, food and staff. Sometimes I think I go just for the bread - it is soft, fresh, warm and delicious. But there is much more to Pappa Bros. Admittedly, steak has a warm place in my heart. Not just steak but great steak, excellently prepared. Pappa Bros. hits the mark flawlessly. The restaurant is welcoming and just what you would expect: intimately lit, deep comfortable booths and an understated and refined décor. The wait staff is expert and excellent. Timing is everything. Not only were courses brought out at the exact moment of perfection but were timed so that no course overlapped and there was a moment for conversation in between. Our waiter attended to us with ease, confidence and humor, easily sliding into conversation...unobtrusive while ensuring the meal was going well while orchestrating a superlative dining experience. The filet was beyond good. Perfectly, perfectly prepared and presented. The porterhouse was rare and served on a cool plate. Sides were not just sides, equal care is taken and they are as much a part of the meal as the main course. The chocolate midnight cake was huge, deeply chocolaty, gooey and even better the next day. : ) Pappa Bros. is a must visit whether from or visiting Dallas. It is a amazing dining experience. Enjoy!

Got there when they opened on Monday and was seated solo in the fireplace room. Though I've eaten here twice before, I had never dined there. Loved the feel of it. Would request it again. Had never had the devil eggs before. Ordered them based on yelp. I'll never Not order them now! They are fabulous. Pricey yes, but not to be missed. Followed up with the special which was a bone in filet encrusted in king crab then topped with Bernaise sauce on mashed potatoes and cream spinach with 2 bacon wrapped scallops. As much as I wanted dessert, i was stuffed. Been here three times now , and all three times were great.

Easily one of the best steakhouses. The decor, the atmosphere, the service, the food - everything was perfection. I absolutely loved the lobster bisque. Lots of lobster meat and the bisque was just right - plenty of flavor and not overly salty like some other places. I had the filet duo which had 2 medallions - one with lump crab meat and the other with grilled shrimp. Both were great but I did favor the lump crab meat one. My friend had the bone-in prime ribeye and it was amazing. A definite must try if you love great steak.

Food was amazing. If you like mushrooms you HAVE to get the side of mushrooms. I seriously consider getting a take out order of those regularly. the steak was amazing as well. Would have given 5 stars but our server was kinda short with us and didn't pay much attention to us and we had to ask him for things a few times but I will be back again and will make sure to get a different waiter.

Went out there during the week for my Fiancé's birthday and was thoroughly impressed. I sort of expected a certain level of culinary excellence, especially because of the price. However the service is what really has me taking the time to review this place. I do not consume pork products and told the waiter while ordering potato au gratin to make sure they hold the bacon. A few moments later a gentleman who seemed to be the manager approached our table to assure us that he has spoken with the chef that no pork touches our food, he also asked if there's anything else he can do to make us more comfortable. We ordered crab cakes, 18 oz rib eye, crab Mac and cheese and I highly recommend everything.

After only throwing down 5 stars about 10% of the time after 1000+ reviews and only having 2 five star reviews after 80 steakhouses, it's great to have had a 3rd five star steakhouse experience. I had never heard of the Pappas Brothers before this week. Apparently they're an 80 restaurant empire that includes two high end steakhouses. Quick rundown: - Flawless Service - Perfect Filet - Exceptional drinks - Amazing Lobster Bisque - Good sides Only thing missing was shoestring fries. Put Pappas on your shortlist.

By far the best steak my husband and I have ever tasted. You can't go wrong with an aged, tender, buttery rib-eye and creamy, meaty lobster mac-n-cheese. Not only was the food beyond expectations, the staff was incredible. Everything was great!

Great food and great service. Heather helped us with wine and was awesome throughout the night. She even took us on a private tour of the wine cellar - super cool! Dinner wasn't cheap, but spot on!! The roasted mushrooms were awesome and our steaks were cooked perfectly.

Best Steakhouse in Dallas. Solid service every time. The steak oozes buttery juices and garlic and perfectly cooked always. The sides are good. (I do not like the Steak Fries though, they're thick. I prefer smaller crunchier on the outside, soft on the inside well seasoned variety) The wine list lacks absolutely nothing. They have a great sommelier as well. She's one of the few female sommeliers in the US and never disappoints. They have wine tasting dinners occasionally that are held in a private dining room in the back. This is quite a treat. You sit with a small group of folks you don't know and eat sinful bites off a well thought out menu accompanied by wines you may of never known. I discovered a few (inexpensive) gems at these tastings. My experiences have been consistently excellent through the years.

It should be call Pappas Bros Foie Gras House. One of the better foie gras I've had in DFW. The steak was not to my liking. Thought it was a little dry and bland. And they had a thick chunk of something white and chewy in my filet mignon. Think it was a tendon or some kind of soft tissue. Would have said something but we had to catch a movie and couldn't wait for them to redo my steak. The lobster deviled eggs were very good. I would go back for that. It's a solid 3 stars. I gave the steak 2 stars and the appetizers 4 stars. I like Del Frisco and Chamberlains better. But I'll return for the foie gras and to try the lamb chops.

I ate at Papas Steakhouse in Dallas for the first time in two years. I ate ate the bar & had a mediocre meal at best. The service was also lacking considering where I dined. I was in the mood for something light, so I ordered a cup of the turtle gumbo, wedge salad, & be on wrapped scallops. The gumbo was very good. I should have ended there. The wedge salad is great if all you want is half a head of lettuce, a pile of shredded carrots, & 4 shards of tomatoes. ( Please note, two soggy strips of bacon & blue cheese are extra) put it this way, the wedge salad at Outback Steakhouse puts their salad to shame. Also, the bacon wrapped scallops could have been good if they were not sitting on a soggy crostini in a buttery soup. All this delicious food plus 2 glasses of reasonably priced wine cont me $80 plus tip. I don't mind paying for good food, but this much for my lousy meal is a little out there. Will be another couple years before I consider giving this place another try.

Was taken there by a business associate during the run-up to the Final Four b-ball playoffs and so the place was jumpin'. I ordered the 10-ounce filet mignon and (at age 66) I believe I can say it was the best steak I've ever had (and yes, I've had more than a few). The sides ordered by the table were also excellent. Expensive? Sure. But I'd go there again (and will) on my own dime in a heartbeat.

It's definitely not an inexpensive establishment however if you want the most amazing meal with a bottle of wine from one of the best wine lists I have seen, then eat here!!! With an appetizer, entrée, sides, and amazing wine, the price tag came in at about $200 per person. Just an FYI. Would I go again? Absolutely! The service and food was spectacular. I actually can't wait to go back.

As you can see by my previous review, we were NOT happy with our fist experience at Pappas. However, I complained to the management staff and was contacted within one day...how's that for service? Rick, the general manager of the Dallas location reached out to apologize for our experience. He asked if we'd like our money back, or to come back again and experience what a dinner at Pappas should have been like for us....he did not disappoint! We again visited Mina in the bar area...still the same opinion as last time...she's the best! We then moved into the fireside room - a lovely room that is often used for private parties with a large fireplace and leather sofas. I began with lobster bisque, which honestly was the best lobster bisque I'd ever had. There must have been an entire lobster tail in my soup, and it wasn't loaded with Sherry, which I don't care for. My husband had a shrimp cocktail of some sort - the name escapes me - but the shrimp were large and flavorful and the sauce was delicious. Our waiter couldn't have been better, making sure we always had water, a clean tablecloth, fresh bread, etc. The Som was a gem!! She asked us what type of wines we enjoyed, what price point, region, etc. My husband is a bit of a wine snob and he was very impressed with both bottles she pulled. It's fun to drink wines you can't normally get in the Dallas area, and LORD knows Pappas has an extensive wine list with many boutique labels. After discussing our dinner suggestions with the waiter, we agreed upon an Australian Kobe bone-in Ribeye and king crab legs to share. The steak was cooked perfectly this time, no char, and inside was a lovely medium rare. The crab legs were out of the shell, which at first confused me a bit, but once we started eating we realized how much easier and neater this option was. We were offered coffee, dessert and after dinner drinks this time as well. All were delicious! I cannot thank Rick and his staff enough for helping us through this ordeal. Great customer service IS STILL OUT THERE, you just have to let the establishment know you were disappointed. Pappas gave us the experience you'd come to expect when spending over $100 pp. It truly was a lovely, flavorful evening and we cannot wait to return!

I keep trying to find a better steak. From NY to LA, I have failed. This is the best steak house in the US. The aged NY strip is the stuff of legend. The wine selection is vast and exotic. This is the spot for a special occasion. Just remember, when you die you can't take your money with you. So, I go here to splurge on occassion. Love it!

D Magazine had listed this steakhouse as #1 in Dallas so of course I had to try it out. Had I read the article in more detail I would've ordered the filet bc my ribeye was dry (I ordered medium). Luckily the boyfriend ordered a filet and it was perfect. Nothing negative to say about this place but nothing special about it either.

Even the seedy location can't lose Papas bros a star. Without a doubt this is a butt ugly area and no reason to hang out unless you come down to one one the Papas clustered together in the parking lot. We were here for restaurant week ($45 limited menu) which would often be another reason to lose a star but Papas comes through and wins me over The decor inside is old school steakhouse...dark, warm and lts of business men talking loudly about their days activities. $45 is a little more than usual restaurant week menus but this had some higher end options and was totally worth it. The steak I chose (new York dry aged strip) was amazing. It easily equals any "best steak of my life" comparisons. As it arrived at the table the waiter instructed me to cut it open before him so he could check that it was cooked perfectly. The steak of course reigned supreme but the house salad was amazing as was the Key lime pie for dessert. Our waiter treated us like royalty even though we were all ordering from a discount menu on a busy night. I truly wish I could remember his name to give him a shout out here but alas the red wine I consumed dulled my memory ;)

Went in late September on a Saturday night. Two of our steaks were cooked wrong. They got mine right on the second try but my wife's was still over cooked on the second one. They didn't charge us for the two steaks, gave us another one to go and free desert for the table plus 50 dollars in gift cards we can use at other Pappas locations. Service was good but I wouldn't go back. Nick and Sams blows this place out of the water.

This was my first visit. The atmosphere was perfect. Not too loud, but comfortable. Very nice, but not pretentious. The staff were excellent. Everytime i go here it gets better and better. I had the porterhouse and lobster mac and cheese. Both were easily the best ive ever had and ive eaten alot of these 2 items. It is pricey but you honestly get what you pay for. If you go please dont skip the lobster mac and cheese, i promise you will not be disappointed. Ive still have not had a better steak and i ate a $200 kobe steak in Vegas.

Well, we had very high hopes for Pappas. Let me start by saying that the service was spectacular! Gavin was one of the best we have had the pleasure of being served by. The bone in ribeye was cooked properly, it just really lacked flavor. The highlight of our meal was the Gooey pecan pie for dessert. I have had better steaks elsewhere maybe it was an off night it did not seem like it was "Prime or dry aged". Like I said we really wanted to like this place.

Amazing place. Easily one of the top steak houses in the U.S. The experience starts as you enter, heads to the bar for a perfect cocktail, and culminates with a perfectly cooked steak. Amazing wine list.

Great ribeye and melt in your mouth sea bass. Service A+. Chocolate mousse dessert to die for. Great atmosphere too.

I'm from South America and obsessed with steak. My home country is one of the best meat exporters in the world, so my palate is quite refined for this kind of food, having eaten it at least 3 times a week growing up. I have to say that the steak I had here was the best I have had in the 13 years I have lived in the United States. I had the 24 ounce porterhouse, which is half New York Strip and half filet. Can't get better than that, you get the best of both worlds! It was served bone-in which in my opinion adds flavor. It was perfectly cooked medium rare, like I asked. No sauce or condiment was needed; the dry-aged steak was perfect as it was. We ordered a side of the potatoes au-gratin, which were to die for, and a side of the mac and cheese that had either crab or lobster (cannot remember now) and we couldn't finish either between the three of us. My friends had the New York strip bone-in and the filet mignon and loved them. We split an amazing salad to begin with. This restaurant has incredible service and ambiance. The wine list is extensive. We were treated like royalty from start to finish. I cannot recommend this place enough. Be advised that the prices are high (totally worth it though!). My steak was $60 just the steak alone.

If you do not want to pay premium prices for this excellent steak house, try restaurant week in August of every year with KLIF. I would go to Central Market for food to get the additional certificate for the appetizer. I would also pay extra for the peanut butter chocolate cake for desert. However, last year it did not have the peanut butter clusters on it and I was a tad disappointing in the presentation when I am going to pay an extra $7 for desert, it should be what is typically spectacular! Not what was already included in the menu.Regardless, spectacular Steak House. It is not really particullary close to us so we do not always go often. However, when we get a chance to go we always enjoy it.

Get the crab cakes. They're the best. And the lobster bisque is the best I have had. Love this place!

Absolutely outstanding! We moved to Texas two months ago and haven't had a night out since our 5 month old was born. This was the place for an amazing date! My husband and I were greeted and sat promptly. Our server, Latisse, was prompt, professional, friendly and extremely accommodating! She asked if we were celebrating anything and we told them about our first date night since baby. The server and manager went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful dining experience. They even wrote in chocolate, "Welcome to Texas" and "Happy Date Night" on our desserts. Now the food.... OH THE FOOD!!!! We had the cheese appetizer and crabcakes. Both were mouth-watering. The flavor of the cheese with the fresh honeycomb and dried apricots was harmonious!! The crab cakes were drizzled with a delicious sauce and topped with potato stings which blended beautifully and was very pleasing to the palate. The bone-in filet is what we both decided on and it was by FAR the most perfectly cooked medium rare filet I've ever had. It melted in our mouths and was seasoned perfectly! We also tried the amazing lump crab mac and cheese and the asparagus. Both were deeee-lish! Dessert was quite the presentation and was a perfect wrap-up to our meal. Dark chocolate and ganache cake and the key lime pie.... The prices are up there, but they deliver for that price! Well worth the money and the amazing night out. We will definitely be back.... We just need to find a sitter!!

Disclosure: I have visited Pappas Bros. Steakhouse 5+ times. Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is an upscale steakhouse owned by the Pappas family. It is known for a huge wine selection, prime steaks, impeccable service, and a warm atmosphere...at a price. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - As soon as you pull up to the complimentary valet, you are met with logoed marble flooring, a turnstile door, and a nice, inviting lounge area. On your left is a beautiful display of dry aged prime cuts which acts a primer of the dinner to come. Upscale? Check. Romantic? Check? Screams of great food? Check mate. But it's dark. I mean REALLY dark. Not just dark woods (which it has), but dark like I need a flash light dark. There's a reason why all the uploaded photos use a flash: it's hard to see the food. A minor complaint but hey, I love presentation as much as my meal. 1/2 Star. Service - Amazing. Sometimes I forget how great service can be. After eating at so many Asian restaurants, I sort of get used to average service. But Pappas is a reminder of how a meal can be a culinary EXPERIENCE. Tables cleaned and silverware replaced after each part of the meal, a wait staff that is extremely knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings, and frequent check-ins are some examples of what we experienced. 1 Star. Food - It began with the bread that is baked in house. The crust is crispy and the inside is as soft as a pillow. I could have eaten the bread with butter all night and be happy. We ordered a prime filet, prime bone-in filet, mushrooms, crab mac & cheese, green beans & haystack onion rings. The filets were both impeccably grilled and super tender. My bone-in filet was a little under seasoned, but otherwise broiled perfectly. The sides stole the show, with the crab mac & cheese being my favorite. Each side complimented the meal so well, and we almost ate everything. Only the mushrooms made it into our "to go" bag. Dessert was the chocolate mousse with graham cracker bits folded in along with in house marshmallows. With the exception of my steak, the meal was quality (and not cheap). 1 1/2 Star. Will I Return? - YES! But only for special occasions. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. It's a high quality steak house experience that would bankrupt me if I went every week. Also, Bob's Steak & Chophouse also has great steaks, but the dishes come with a carrot and a starch. At Pappas, everything is a la cart unless it's a special. But still, you get what you pay for and to me the price of admission to this dining experience is well worth it. 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score

So me and my friend did a fantasy bet on a Pappas Bros Steakhouse dinner. So whoever get a worse place then the other, the loser need to pay for a Steak dinner. So for me as a winner. This meal was for free. That means this place tome is a one $ place. So I order the Aged Rib eye steak and a side of Mac and Cheese. The mac and cheese is probably the best mac and cheese I have ever had in my life, the put some crab meat in it and it turn out really good. I have them make my steak medium rare. So I try the steak. It was so tender and juicy. When I take a bite of it, is almost like butter melt in my mouth. I would think that Pappas Bros as the best steak in Dallas/

Thanks to the prompt customer service from the folks at pappa bros corporate office and Dallas branch, their generous gift card allowed me to also pay it forward and I offered the gift card to my sister and her husband who both work too hard and long to ever spoil themselves for a dinner this nice. They went to the Houston location to stuff their faces couple of weeks ago and kept raving about the food and service there and even said they wanted to go back there for their next anniversary. I will be going there again for the next special occasion/celebratory dinner to have the food again but I'm already sold. The customer service from corporate has already made me want to go back after me saying I will never go back there in my first review. You did it, it worked.

As long as I been in Dallas Texas I never really been interested in coming here because I figured it was like any other steak house. I think it's official I have eaten at every steakhouse in Dallas !! Ok so instead of Morton's my favorite or Perry's ! We decided to finally give this place a try .. Ok ok ok , I fell in love with this place. The atmosphere was intimate and quite. Very nice and mellow. The service was literally a five star. Our waitress was professional and wonderful. The food was ooooo sooooo tasty. They had all kinds of meat shipped from another country. The food was definitely pricey but well worth every bite!! Did I mention I finally had the best clam chowder. Large chucks of clams that tasted like the one I had in California. My night seemed very complete after this wonderful meal and experience. FYI expect to spend close to 200 got two people. I left feeling happy :) good job papa steaks !!!

Wonderful steakhouse, both food and service. My husband and I have frequented this steakhouse for several years. This is also where my husband proposed. I should have posted this review long before now. We recently moved to the ATL area and sure do miss my favorite DFW restaurants. Hope to be back soon.

One of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. Our waitress, Christina was amazing. I saw someone order a dessert with a toasted marshmallow on top. I was eyeing them. V told the waitress about my obsession. I was embarrassed. Then she brought out one single toasted marshmallow with my creme brulee!!! It made my night. Oh, and amazing rib-eye.

This place had so much hype and I was very surprised to find out that it actually lived up to it! The place was nice and cozy, tables were a bit close to each other but not too crowded. It was a bit too dark in here though, they could use brighter lighting. They have a very very extensive wine list and someone was there to help us select which one we should try. We didn't get any appetizers but we did pick a different type of meat for our entree. We ordered the double lamb chops, ribeye and new york strip. All of our meat were cooked PERFECTLY. We had medium rares and rare/medium rare and wow, this is probably one of the few places I've been to that actually cook it exaaaactly how we asked for. That was pretty impressive. The lamb chops were yuuuummy!!! They were tender and flavorful. They were a lil too fatty for me but it was still good. The outside was nicely charred as well. It came with some minty sauce but I thought that was pretty gross, so I didn't bother touching it after I tried it. The new york strip was a slightly tough and dry but it was well flavored as well. The ribeye though, was DELICIOUS. Oh my... now I see why everyone says this place is the best steakhouse in town. I'm not sure if it is THE best since I haven't been to all the places in town, but out of all the others I've been to, this is definitely on the top of the list. The flavor was just right, with hints of seasoning and butter. For sides, we got the crab mac and cheese and the au gratin potatoes. The crab mac and cheese was really good, although I'm not sure its worth $17. It had a good amount of crab chunks in it and the combination of cheese came out nicely. The macaronis were cooked just right as well. The au gratin potatoes were good, with lots of cheese on top with some bacon too. It's crazy how this dish stayed hot throughout our whole meal. Both sides were portioned to be shared. These two were enough to share between three of us. We came here celebrating a birthday and they were nice enough to comp the dessert of his choice and even had a little piece of chocolate with happy birthday on it. :) Overall, this place is delicious but it is truly pricey. The food and dining experience does live up to the price but unfortunately, I can't come eat here often because i just can't afford that lifestyle! lol, but for special occasions I wouldn't mind coming back.

The ambience is great. I love how when you walk in the door you see the free cuts of steak and seafood on display. I always get steak here, and it is always perfectly cooked. Best wine list ever; there's something for every price poibt. The server could have been a little more attentive, but the night we went it was pretty packed.

Best steak house in town! We went with a party of three. The place is about 15 minutes away from downtown (where other steak houses are locate) but it's worth the trip. Very nice service. The filet mignon was simply great - we ordered it with two side dishes (mashed potatoes and onion rings). The only thing which was a bit disappointing was the beer list. According to the web site they claim to have an impressive sections of beers and a special cooling system. So the expectations were high. On the list were a few local beers and the standard portfolio (Bud and friends), so really nothing special.

This place is phenomenal! If you're looking for melt in your mouth steaks, the freshest seasonal seafood (they had Alaskan king crab legs as big as my arm) , desserts that are to die for, and the most extensive wine selection outside of France, then book a reservation NOW! The prices are high but I found them well worth it. I look forward to returning for my next special occasion.

Good food, nice atmosphere, wonderful service. We had two couples and started with two appetizers: lobster deviled eggs and crab cakes. Crab cakes may have been the best I have ever had. Deviled eggs were good and very different. Salads were very tasty. We ordered two to share and they split them. I thought that was a nice touch. Main course: one couple split the 40 oz porterhouse the other split the 32 oz Akaushi tomahawk ribeye. Both were cooked a perfect medium rare. The porterhouse was great. The ribeye was a big disappointment. It was ok but after reading the reviews I had high expectations. It certainly wasn't tender. My wife really didn't like it. I think 3 Forks has much better steaks. Roasted mushroom side was very good. Skillet potato side was forgettable. Desserts were creme brûlée (very good), 4 layer chocolate cake (good), and chocolate mousse (disappointing). We expected mousse to be light and fluffy. This one was thick and heavy. Some may like it that way but we didn't. Overall I'm glad we tried it but it's certainly not my favorite.

From the moment you walk in the restaurant from the valet area, you will be greeted by a jaw dropping meat display. This display showcases all the premium cuts and gets your mouth watering instantly. There was also a live jazz band playing in the lounge area which helped set the ambiance for this classy steak restaurant. We had reservations and was sat within 15 minutes upon arrival. For starters, we all shared the: -Wedge Lettuce Salad - You have to cut up the wedges in order to share it.. Maybe a regular salad would have been easier for sharing. -Dozen of Oysters - Almost identical to how it's served at Pappadeux. I don't know why but the oysters from the Pappas are A M A Z I N G. -Creamed Spinach - decent -Au Gratin Potatoes - This was everyone's favorite side. My entree: -Lobster Bisque - DELICIOUS. -Bone-in Ribeye - It was cooked to perfection!! AHH sooo good. Words can't even describe it. Yeah I'm at a loss of words right now. Just know that it was AWESOME ;] In the end, I forgot to save room for dessert. So ordered a Creme Brulee togo. It was sOo good and served with fruit and cookies. Service? On point. All the ladies were given a complimentary mini box of truffles to-go :] If I ever come across Texas again, I will be back for sure!

Not impressed at all. Staff is nice and attentive, no problem here. Food was subpar at best, maybe we were unlucky. I would have save 185$ by eating a cheeseburger at McDo.

One of the best places you can go for steak, they have great aged cuts. So keep in mind, these aren't grocery store cuts. You are paying for prime, very high quality stuff. So when you see the price that is why it is more expensive. The restaurant is amazing from entrance, eating and exit. I had the bone in ribeye and my beautiful other half had the bone in filet. The steaks were full of flavor and made us both very happy. The portions are big, so you may have some to take home at the end. We had two sides which I cannot recall but they are family size made for sharing, they were good. Great experience for our first night in Dallas, would go back when in town again.

Porterhouse 26oz- it wasnt bad, i wasnt blown away... especially about the whole "aged about 28 days" .... there wasnt much aged funk flavor to it ... and iirc it didnt melt in the mouth like the Peter Luger's. Meat was soft but its like there wasnt enough fat ...it took a tad too long to chew, even when cut thin. There was some charred fat, but not much. Filet Mignon 12oz- thick, which hampered even cooking, but again, not much aged flavor to it, good soft texture but took too long Bread- was great, ate one just by myself Lobster bisque- pretty delicious, flavorful, although small Crab cakes- good, flavorful, although small Onion rings- obscenely large, with thick onion that released moisture and made the rings not crispy. would not get this again. Soda- lost its bubbles quite fast :( Creme brulee- BIG, ok, not sweet enough for me edit: meh several times ...

Very poor experience. I grew up in Houston and Papas Bros was the first restaurant I went to when I could afford to go. I saved for a number of months. I loved it. Nothing but great memories. This was over a decade ago so i can't factor this into the review. I was out of state for a number of years and when i came back to Dallas my parents offered to take me to the Dallas location. I was so excited. The menu looked about the same. Except the change from turtle soup to turtle gumbo. My medium rare ribeye was extremely chewy. I reluctantly sent it back. The next one was just as bad. I couldn't eat any of it. I didn't want to complain a second time. It was chewed up and hidden in my napkin. I was enjoying the company and didn't want to send a second steak back. Both were perfectly cooked, just too chewey to eat. Super disappointing. I may give them another chance sometime.

My fiancée and I love Pappas Bros. We request Henry to be our server every time. He remembers us and conversations from our previous visit, as well as our preferences. Once, he asked what I was having for dessert (he knows my sweet tooth) and I told him I was too full. He suggested I take something home, and I told him no, that was ok. Then I changed my mind and asked him to add a piece to cheesecake to our take home bag, and he said "It's already in there." He also knows my fiancée's love of wine and lets him know about treasures they get in, such as an 1855 Scion tawny port. The food never disappoints and you really can't go wrong with anything. Some fine steakhouses serve steaks that I'm really just not impressed with, but Pappas always gets it right. If you only have one fine dining experience in your life, this should be it.

Unbelievable! Why can't we have a Pappas back home? Please!? A work friend of mine and I went here on a recommendation from the hotel we stayed at. At first glance, it appears like one of those theme-y restaurants at a casino; the interior is very well done. And it is very unique as you walk around. I had the lobster bisque, which was amazing. I know, I was in a steakhouse, but I couldn't resist. I've never had anything like it before. Then, after realizing that I couldn't possibly finish the crab mac and cheese, I boxed it up...and now, here I am a little drunk in my hotel room after my night, and I just heated it up. And it's glorious! Thank you Pappas!

I'll try to keep this short and sweet since there's already a ton of other reviews on this place and I'm sure everything good and bad about this place have been mentioned. But I'll add a little piece of my experience on here anyway. I've been told plenty of times by friends and family that Pappas Bros Steakhouse is "hand down" the best steakhouse in Texas. For right now, I'm going to have to agree. However, I do have to add that I'm saying this because of the whole experience; and the fact that Pappas Bros Steakhouse also offers a lot of selections of desserts for those of you who have a sweet tooth like me. I came here to celebrate my baby sister's birthday. It was my first time dining at Pappas Bros but I'm no strangers to prime steakhouses. Ruth's Chris, Fleming's, Perry's, Del Frisco's, The Capital Grill, Morton's, whatever. I've been to most of them. As for taste (for filet mignon), I believe that Ruth's Chris holds the gold medal. However, the filet mignon that I had at Pappas Bros was on par, if not more delicious, with Ruth's Chris. However, I do have to say that I didn't order their regular filet mignon but instead I ordered the Akaushi Texas Kobe filet mignon which supposedly tastes better and obviously is more expensive. For $75, you get 6 oz of this meat, a salad, and a personal side (when I said personal, it's really a full size side). I also had some lobster tail with my steak and it was delicious. But, I don't think it's any better than any lobster tail that I would have at another prime steakhouse. We also ordered several sides for the party. We opted for the Lobster Mac 'n' Cheese, Au Gratin potatoes, and some asparagus. The Mac 'n' Cheese was awesome and so was the Au Gratin potatoes. As for the asparagus, it's just alright. But I can't really think to make asparagus better than they are. As for service, our waiter, Gavin, was really attentive. He came frequently enough, but not too much. He got our orders just right. He was really patient in taking our orders and answering our questions about the menu and/or specials. He asked us if we were celebrating anything and when we told him that we were celebrating my sister's birthday, he came by after dinner telling her that she could choose anything from the dessert cart on the house. My sister selected the midnight chocolate cake, which according to Gavin got its name because it's so rich that you could only have a couple of bites of the cake, take it home, and then eat it again at midnight. He was joking, obviously, but I'm easily amused so I chuckled. I ordered pecan pie with ice cream. Long story short, the desserts were both VERY good. I was really tempted to order the huge ass New York style (or call it Texas style due to its size) cheesecake but I wanted some ice cream with my dessert. My only gripe about the place is the forced valet parking. It's free, but I still don't like to have to valet my car. It's just a personal preference, though.

One of the best Prime Rib dinners I have ever had. The costs were reasonable especially since the quality and taste of the steak. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly and seasoned great. Writting this review is actually making me crave Papas Brothers right now.

When you want a special night out or you just want to eat the best steak in Dallas, this is the place. I've been here a number of times throughout the years and each time, I am extremely impressed. The service is so attentive and courteous, you will feel like you're a regular even if it's only your first time here. If you visit around a holiday, like we did for Valentine's Day one year, you will not feel rushed or that the experience is less than it should be. My filet is always cooked perfectly and the quality of the meat is top notch. Basically, I just try to come here a couple of times a year for my steak fix because there are very few other places in the DFW area that come close when it comes to steak. On one visit, our waiter highly recommended the crab mac and cheese and I am so glad he did because it is incredibly delicious! Don't miss out on this off menu item that seems to be a permanent special. Pappas also has an amazing wine list for which they are Wine Spectator Grand Award winners. If you are an oenophile, be sure to get on their mailing list as they have monthly wine dinners and other events. I attended a champagne and sparkling wine tasting which was informative and very enjoyable. Dress code is more along the lines of business casual although the last time I was there, people came in jerseys after the Cowboy game. Go and treat yourself. You won't regret it!

Love this restaurant. Brought my wife here after talking about it for the last 2 years, and it didn't disappoint. Steaks as always are fantastic, but you should try the lobster bisque and the crab Mac and cheese are absolutely amazing. Having many servers ask for Christopher he is so knowledgable about the menu and the food he will get you exactly what you are looking for! Love this place and definitely better than del monico, III forks, bobs, etc... You go and you will have a great meal, seriously the Mac and cheese!!

The Pappas family is awesome and knows how to run quality places. This venture however, is sadly over rated. Simply put- I have never had a tender steak here. I can get a better filet at Kroger. Nice decor and service. Yes, deserts are awesome. In short, "where's the beef?"......

This was probably one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. The meal started out well, the cesar salad was good but then went downhill from there. The mashed potatoes was really bland, the steak was overcooked and a little burnt from the outside. It tasted very gamy and wasn't tender at all. The lobster was extremely dry, I had much better lobster at The Keg. I would recommend you to go to La-Hacienda instead and you'll get a much better steak. For the price you pay at this restaurant, I wouldn't recommend it. $350 for four people and it wasn't worth it.

I'd heard of this place from a number of people when I moved here, and I finally had a chance to try it out this past weekend. It's incredible! This is a swanky, upscale steakhouse. It's expensive. It's the type of place you dress up to go to, while also craving enormous steaks and/or lobster. The exterior/interior have an old-school art-deco thing going on. Slightly stuffy but overally really classy. If you want to impress someone, and drain your wallet, go here. - We were seated in a side room, which I thought was a slight but then that room quickly filled up. The place gets busy. Speaking of busy, I wanted to detract a star for service; it was a little on the slow side - waiting for drinks or food BUT - the food was SO GOOD that it out-shone any negative item! We got the bone-in filet, and it may be the best steak I've ever had. I don't eat fat on steaks, but this was like butter - I ate the whole darn thing! It was nice and rare on the inside, all crispy-cooked on the outside. It was glorious. I'd go here again just for the steak. - Their sides are hit or miss: The crab mac n cheese is from heaven. It may be the best mac and cheese I've ever had, and I'm not a fan of crab. It's light and airy and sweet and cheesy - but so perfectly balanced - it's unbelieveable. The mashed potatoes were bland. Pass on them. - The mixed drinks were all right. We got a couple of their special drinks (Esquire 55 or something). Nothing to write home about. I'd stick with wine next time. - But again - that steak (and mac and cheese) - so good - definitely deserves the 5 stars.

I can't really fault Pappas Bros for this, but a gentleman sitting at the table next to me started choking during this steak meal. A waiter came quickly and performed the heimlich on him. Points to the staff for knowing the heimlich and taking action quickly. But I can't say that seeing a guy choking on steak was a great start to the evening. In the end, 100 guys choking around me couldn't stop me from giving Pappas Bros a 5 star review on Yelp. I didn't get the works, no appetizers, no drinks, no salads. Just a 10 oz filet mignon and a side of wild mushrooms. Both just blew me out the water. The filet mignon I had at Del Frisco's was just a tiny bit better, in my opinion, but that is not saying much because both places had steak that were miles ahead of any other steak I've eaten. Mushrooms were cooked perfectly as well. A lot of different varieties of wild mushrooms, all delicious, 5 star meal. Very satisfied. Definitely will make a repeat trip next time I'm in the area.

We are blessed with numerous fine steakhouses in Dallas, but Pappa's rules them all. I've never had a meal here that was less than exceptional, and the service is invariably both warm and elegant. I have to give special recognition to their wine program. Their cellar is huge (about 15,000 bottles!), but unless you're an expert such a selection can be more daunting than enticing. As soon as you express an interest in a bottle of wine, one of their four Certified Sommeliers (including one of the roughly 200 Master Sommeliers on the planet) will materialize and guide you expertly and pleasurably toward a selection at any price point. There is simply no finer dining experience available in the city.

Alright so I don't use the term "Boss" that much. But this place is hella boss. That's right I used the word hella. A long long long night of work one night and a coworker and I were just about ready to throw our hands up in the air from defeat and we decided to splurge and get a nice steak dinner that would be awesome (although probably not awesome for our health). We arrive at this place after driving on like 20 million freeways, seriously texas what is up with all the interstates... anywho. We drive in and it has a huge valet spot and almost looked like a hotel. We walk through the doors and this is a classic NYC steakhouse vibe. Super classy and the old school feel from the mid 1900's. It has a piano with a classic bar next to it with Sinatra like music playing in the background. What more could you ask for in a steakhouse than this. Trust me nothing. The service is on point as well. We had not made reservations but they promptly brought us over to a table and as soon as we sat, servers came over immediately and brought menus and were very helpful in recommending certain dishes. We look at the vino list and it is really extensive which I appreciated. Really solid choices with a huge price range. Recognized a few of them as they are delicious so I knew that this joint had a very good vino list. We peruse and decide to order the lobster mac and cheese, bacon wrapped scallops, ribeye, and fillet. Yeap heart attack here we come. The scallops along with the lobster mac and cheese were enjoyable and I definitely savored each bite. The waiter was kind enough to offer one more scallop with bacon to make sure everyone had an even portion which was considerate. The steaks are all dry aged in house I believe is what I heard from the waiter which I thought was impressive as there were a huge variety of steaks on the menu. The steaks come out and they are cooked well as they were tender and juicy. Perfect meal to end a long day/week of work. Now you may ask why not a 5 for this place after all my raving and even after using the term "boss" and "hella" in the same sentence. Now this place has a killer atmosphere and the steaks are pretty awesome but I have been spoiled before by having amazing steaks in Chicago at Chicago Chop. Maybe its not fair but what I will say is that I am a definite fan of this place and its probably the best steak I have had in the Dallas area for sure. Definitely be ready to spend though which is always no surprise for a steakhouse. Will be back when I am in Dallas.

Amazing wine list. Go and you will understand why they have won the Grand Award from Wine Spectator the last 3 years. I don't eat steak and have a dairy allergy so I am probably not the best person to rate this restaurant overall. I thought it was fairly overpriced $10.95 for a garden salad. Not an entree salad. My friend said his steak was perfectly cooked. The wine we selected was good and recommended by the sommelier. I told him we "didn't want to buy a car" when he was making his suggestions because I did see an $18,000 bottle on the list. There are over 3,500 selections so if you plan to order a bottle I'd suggest looking over their wine list online before going to have an idea what you want. We had the Alto Moncayo Granacha 2009. It was $95 and I'd recommend it.

Hands down best steak ever! I have always raved about Bobs, but sorry bob, pappas has out ranked you in my book. I really never considered trying it out before. I heard it was pricey, and I figured I would rather reserve my splurge dinners for something more unique. My wife and my mom popped in on fri for the first restaurant week venture. We all loved it. I started with a great Caesar salad, before the main of a medium NY strip which was no joke if not the best steak of my life, one of the best. We all got the strip and agreed it was fantastic. We shared a trio if desserts to round things out. Cheesecake, key lime pie, and a chocolate peanut butter ganache layer cake. The chocolate cake definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. Portion size was extremely generous for restaurant week. So many places out there skimp to where I'm like, what's the point? Pappas impressed to say the least.

In my opinion, it is a toss up between Nick and Sam's and Pappas Bros for the best steak in Dallas.

We started out with fantastic service. At no point during the entire evening were our glasses empty or our table unattended. The lobster bisque was phenomenal as other reviewers had suggested. We also tried the lobster deviled eggs and were not disappointed. Our meals were presented beautifully and came out perfectly. We will definitely visit this place again!

Made our first visit on Valentine's Day. They were SUPER busy, but we were seated within minutes of our reservation time. We ordered the lobster deviled eggs as an appetizer. I ordered the lobster bisque, and a bone-in Ribeye. My wife ordered a tomato salad, and a bone-in filet. We shared sides of crab mac & cheese and wild mushrooms. The lobster deviled eggs were absolutely amazing. Although the few bites of the tomato salad I shared were phenomenal, the lobster bisque was absolutely sublime. I would return just to have bowl after bowl of the lobster bisque. The Bone-in Ribeye was one of the best I've ever had. I had a bite of my wife's bone-in filet and it was THE best I've ever had. We shared an order of turtle pie for dessert, and ended taking most of it (and a bunch of our leftover dinner) home. I'd highly recommend a visit to Pappas Bros!

We took our family here to celebrate our eldest daughter's 12th birthday. We had an excellent dining experience! The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The staff even treated our three year old like he was a royalty. This will be our go to spot for celebration going forward. We would recommend Pappas Bros to anyone!

The hostess was pleasant but our server was terrible at her job. She didn't tell us about any specials, make recommendations etc. She simply took our order and left. She stopped by the table when the food arrived (we ordered another round of cocktails ) and were nearly done eating our dinners by the time she returned with our drinks. I got the bone in Ribeye. It wasn't terrible but certainly not the delicious steak you expect for the price $56+. A dry aged prime steak like that should be heaven for a steak lover yet I have had better steaks at much less expensive steak houses Like Sawgrass or Texas Roadhouse. It was bland and somewhat dry which is weird for a steak ordered medium rare. My wife ordered Lobster and we realized (too late) that our sever never asked if we wanted it steamed or grilled. We arrived early for our reservation and sat in the bar to get a few drinks. I was drinking wine but we decided not to order a bottle since my wife drank martinis instead. The drinks at the bar were fine and the amount of wine poured was typical. After we each finished our drink we sat down to order dinner and ordered another Round they brought us our new drinks which was fine. When dinner arrived we ordered another rd of drinks. Not only did we not get the drinks until dinner was nearly over but instead of bringing me a fresh glass the server reached over and poured some wine into my current glass and it was far less then the amount I had received in the previous two glasses. So just another irritation. The entrees were just okay. The desert (Chocolatte Marshmello) was good. Drink service was slow and in on instance we were given less wine then we paid for. The service was terrible. Our final tab for two people was $300 including 20% tip. I just think for that price the meal should be fantastic and the service fantastic as well. Update: Management responded promptly to our concerns. I will definitely give this location another chance.

steak in texas is so different. its delicious like other institutions across the USA but why is it so much more filling? even bone marrow was huuuuuge! the bread, was warm and delicious, followed by my salad and bacon wrapped scallops was sooooo filling that i was actually pretty full by the time the mushrooms, au gratin potatoes, and the texas akaushi kobe filet. it was nothing short of amazing. i got it rare, and the plate was pretty cold [which is key since steak on hot plates equates to continued cooking- which is fine if you undercook, but horrifying if you didn't]. rare texan akaushi kobe filet i love you. even though i was ridiculously full, the filet tasted fantastic and was cooked to perfection. no need for additional seasoning. it was just right. add bone marrow and i was a stuffed bear. nothing less than amazing!

If I only had 1 meal left on earth, I'd want to have it at Pappas Bros Steakhouse. My last meal: Lettuce Wedge Lobster Bisque Prime New York Strip Sorbet Laphroaig 18 Year Scotch And a nice cigar. Every occasion that I visit, I am always impressed by the professionalism of the service and the attention to detail. It is unparalleled. Great atmosphere, especially if you can get a private room. Jason, their Sommelier, is an amazing wealth of knowledge and has always been great to me. Another person worth mentioning is Beau, a phenomenal waiter. I can't recommend Pappas Bros enough.

Yes it is a $$$$ restaurant. However, you will get what you pay! The Prime Rib-eye is awesome and mouth-watering! Definitely will go back and order it again. Lastly, do not forget to order the Scallop wrapped bacon, it is heaven on earth type of appetizer. The bad thing about this restaurant is the lighting. It is too dark and you might get sleepy after you fill your tummy.

THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB. Finally decided to come here for restaurant week after hearing much hype about the steak, and I'm so glad I did. I never would've expected that a restaurant in the Pappadeaux/Pappasitos chain would have such amazing steak. This place must be super popular though; reservations go really quickly, as I tried to make online reservations two weeks ahead of time and still only ended up with dinner options either before 5:30pm or after 8:30pm on a Saturday night. This place is valet parking only. When we arrived, the restaurant was really full with people filling up the lounge/bar waiting for tables. We got seated pretty soon and got right to ordering. I got the caesar salad for my appetizer, the filet mignon + jumbo shrimp + mashed potatoes + green beans for my entree, and the NY cheesecake for dessert. Everything was so GOOD! The salad came in a pretty big portion with a light caesar dressing and shards of parm on top. The filet mignon was the best steak I've had in Dallas, hands down. Melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I didn't feel like the shrimp on top of the filet was necessary, but I guess it was a nice addition. The mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful and sprinkled with bacon bits and chives-yum. By the time I'd finished my steak, I was already really full. And then the huge slice of cheesecake came along. Probably the creamiest cheesecake I've ever had. It was really good, but I could only muster a few bites because I was so full. Pappas really made a lasting impression on me. I will most likely be back here every year for restaurant week and it's now my go-to fancy restaurant for celebratory dinners :)

I love to eat a Pappas Bros Steakhouse. I come back a few times a year and I have never been dissatisfied. The staff are very attentive and they always work very hard to ensure I am comfortable and my glass is never empty. The steaks are huge and delicious, and after you are done you can enjoy a fine cigar and scotch. Having cigars is what separates good steakhouse from great steakhouses. They have a good selection of scotches to choose from as well. I will definitely continue to visit Pappas Bros.

In Texas, everything really does seem to be bigger. I came here to try real Texas steak. While the beef isn't actually raised in Texas, it is dry aged in Dallas. I was a little disappointed about not having real "Texan" beef, but the flavor of the beef was well worth it. The service here is impeccable. My water glass seemed to always be filled. The waiter kept us entertained, and checked up on us very often. While the food is good, it's not the best. I've had better steak and seafood, but the experience was nice. We shared a seafood platter to start. This was delicious, but seafood platters are hard to mess up. The sauces were what made the platter something special. I really liked the mustard sauce. I shared a bone-in ribeye, my go-to steak, cooked medium. The portion was perfect for two women. Steak was cooked perfectly, and flavors were all there. Again, it's good, but not the best steak I've ever had.

people usually give me that weird look when I say this is probably the best steak house in dallas. yes I know it's a big corporate chain restaurant but they honestly serve very good steak and they really do know how to train their servers . not only do they have the best steaks, they have the best service I've ever experienced. my fillet was came a bit well done and within 3min tops a fresh still smoking fillet came as I originally ordered. with a busy restaurant like Pappas bros their courses always come in a timely manner. when I go out for a good steak, I don't like waiting and if I do that just ruins my taste for the steak. Pappas fulfils my appetite every time I come.

Went here last night with my bf to celebrate our anniversary and we loved it! For appetizers, we had shrimp cocktail, wedge salad, turtle gumbo and the Texas selection cheese plate. Make sure you come hungry bc the portions are huge! Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the mashed potato and onion rings sides were sooooo good! It is expensive but well worth it. It was a little chilly inside I thought so if you get cold easily, bring a light cardigan and you'll be fine. Enjoy!!

Bacon wrapped scallops are a must! The Bread was amazing, but save room for the main course. Bathrooms are immaculate and the sink water is warm, nice to see the TV's in the bar when you leave the restrooms. Steaks are the best in the country! My favorite is the bone in filet. The NY Strip is also fantastic! Can't go wrong with the steaks. Steak fries are perfect and the baked potato is amazing, but go easy and save some room for dessert. The chocolate cake and cheesecake are to die for, but the best dessert you will ever have is the peach cobbler! The vibe is tremendous! This is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. Save the leftovers for your dogs and cats!

I went here for an anniversary with my boyfriend and it was amazing! The service was excellent and our waitress made friendly conversation the entire time. Many thanks for a wonderful dinner tonight. My waiter, Darryl, was great- very thoughtful and considerate especially since I was dining alone. He asked for my name and throughout the night referred to me by name. The steakhouse salad, the crab macaroni and cheese, and the wagyu ribeye (which comes with the bone marrow) were amazing. This has been the highlight of my trip in Dallas !! Many thanks for having exceptional service and amazing food.

Pappas Bros is stellar from start to finish. I can echo everyone else's sentiments that the steaks are amazing. I didn't need the salt or pepper for anything. The bread was fresh and warm. The sides were big enough to share between 3 people. I wouldn't push it any further than that. The desserts were huge. But let's talk service. Because when you're going out for an expensive meal, EVERYTHING needs to be up to par. Our server Liz was phenomenal. Very knowledgeable and attentive. I called them ahead of time to tell them it was my mom's birthday and from the front desk to the table, everyone acknowledged that. Made sure her dessert plate had her name on it. Just great service. My dad dropped his fork and the server had replaced it before I even noticed it had dropped. And they even called me the next day to make sure our dining experience was good, which it was! But let me tell you what really did it for me. My father is not one of those people who likes fancy restaurants. He'd much rather just eat at home. SO, he showed up for dinner wearing a Wizards tee shirt. I was motified. BUT, nobody at Pappas Bros even batted an eyelash. Apparently they recognized that the money was still green and I greatly appreciate that. So 5 stars for Pappas Bros!

On a recent trip to Dallas, ie during the flood.......impossible to visit Texas without having a steak. Working in the food industry, Im always somewhat of a critic. Fortunately I have the pleasure of doing business with the Pappas chain within my city, however in my city we only have Pappadeux and Pappasito's. And I tell you this place held its own! This was one of the "Best Ribeye Steaks"; that I've ever had. It was prepared to perfection, no sauce or extra seasonings needed. The staff was very nice, especially the Bartender (Cynthia).....not too mention great on the eyes. lol. I plan to make this a regular spot whenever I visit Dallas, and highly recommend that you stop in and try it yourself. Hopes of a Pappas Bro. Steak brand venturing to my city.

Amazing dining experience. I wish I remember the waiter's name as he was outstanding. There is a fine line between great service and bugging your diners. Our waiter was helpful but wasn't constantly at our table bugging us. The steaks were great. I had a strip and also tried a filet. I actually liked the filet a little bit more than the strip. The crab mac n cheese was great. The baked potato was great. The Cesar salad was terrific. Dessert was amazing- the milk chocolate mousse with toasted marshmallow. Just an outstanding dining experience in every way. I will for sure be back.

Peppercorn steak is amazing. Be sure to save room for dessert and side dishes!!! The dry aged steaks are premier at Pappas Bros. From the time we were seated to the time we left, service was impeccable. I would recommend this place as one of the best steaks in Texas. Thanks Pappas Family!

One of the best steakhouses I've been to. It is pricey but worth the money. I got the lobster deviled eggs for app and 12 oz filet with mushrooms for dinner. For dessert we spilt chocolate marshmallow mousse. All was awesome. Great service from wait staff.

As such a high rated and well heard of place, I have to say I had slightly high expectations. Nothing too crazy, but I expected an overall great experience. Although I have to say, I was not as impressed as I would have liked to be. Lovely place, quiet and intimate. I was impressed with the inside, the decor, and overall "feel" of the place. Our waiter was nice, but not that personable. It started with telling us the specials- you may want to bring a pen and paper, because it was quite extensive. We were a table of four, celebrating my boyfriend's birthday with his parents. Our first round of drinks tasted great, although they messed up in giving everyone the correct drinks. But, not a problem, we figured it out. Then round two of drinks- my boyfriend's martini was delivered quite low, as if it were spilled, and when we asked, our waiter said it was a "normal pour"- but our first round was to the rim. It bothered us a bit, but nothing to throw a fit over. Then the salads come out, all but my boyfriend's, because we saw our waiter taking it back because something must have been wrong. Once he brought it back, there was no salad dressing on it, and had to take it back again. By this point, we are starting to get a little annoyed. Then it was time for the steaks to come out. We ordered our steak medium rare, and told him to error on the side of rare, because we don't want it overcooked. To our disappointment, we cut into our steak, and it was medium, some pieces even looked medium well. Although we didn't want to make a fuss, we couldn't stand eating such an expensive piece of steak not even cooked to our preference. So we sent it back. When it came back, it was cooked exactly how we wanted it, and it was absolutely, 100%, delicious. All in all, the food tasted great, the steak was delicious, and I would highly recommend getting the lobster bisque. Perhaps it was the incident after incident that has tainted my opinion, and although it was not a terrible experience, I don't know if I would want to come back.

Was in town for a Weekend conference and had this restaurant recommended for a group of us (20) to go to. Being from Toronto, I wanted a real Texas steak experience. Let me tell you - this joint did not disappoint. After a few beers (can't remember which ones) - we sat down in a secluded area of the restaurant. On the recommendation of our waiter I ordered the 16oz Rib eye. Knowing the Rib Eye is on the fattier side I asked them to cook is between Medium Rare and Medium. No Fuss just YES SIR! (Side note- this place is classy - when I asked a waiter where I could find the restroom, he took me across the restaurant to guide me to the washroom.) Our table also ordered an array of a-la-carte side dishes. Including the Mushrooms, Potatoes, and Greens. We even ordered the "Secret" not on the menu crab mac-and-cheese. I topped my evening off with a coffee and slice of the chocolate cake. The portions are monsterous (I am a 6 foot tall, 250lb, and in my mid mid twenties). Someone at my table ordered the cheesecake which was more than enough for three people. In all, this is a great place to visit if you are in Dallas. I will be returning next year when I come back for the same conference.

Alright. To be honest, my first experience here was NOT over the top. Pros: Quiet and intimate & excellent service. However, I came here for melt in your mouth steak and decadent desserts that dance in your mouth, not rough meat and a lopsided tilted table. I came for my friend's birthday dinner and the whole group ordered a series of appetizers, steaks, and desserts. I'm reviewing everything I tasted that night. The soup of the day, being the New England Clam Chowder, was a little on the salty side and was comparable to Campbell's. I really regret not getting the bacon wrapped scallops. The biggest bang for you buck, would have to be the Potato Au Gratian. Get that as either your appetizer or side dish, it won't disappoint. My friend and I both ordered the prime rib eye steak except she ordered it Medium rare and I ordered medium. When our steaks came out my steak was... Bloody. So therefore, I sent it back and had it cooked. Tasted alright but was a little rough. I blame that on me for sending it back. My friend had a warm red center, but it was VERY cooked on the most outer sides. Eventually, we caught on that our steaks were probably switched. Boo. Desserts were probably the highlight. The midnight cake was too dark and too rich for me, but the toasted mousse was great! It's rich too, but I liked it a lot. For a steak house, it's comparable to Road House. I'm sorry, but maybe I just had a bad steak, who knows. But if I could come here strictly for desserts, I definitely would.

If you want to try a Texas steakhouse this is the perfect place!!! Service was superior! A fun suggestions is to have dinner here and then after dinner drink and dessert at Reunion Tower which is just a quick little hop downtown! Great way to show a guest Dallas!!!

Very good food and excellent service. Only 2nd time here, but I must say, it was great to be back. Our steak/seafood temperature were perfect, mac/crab was delish. Peach cobbler was the icing... who said you can have your cake and eat??

It had been a while since we went to this restaurant as our favorite waiter no longer worked there. However we went back for a celebration dinner this past Friday and I remember now why this is the best steakhouse. Let's face it all of the steakhouses in Dallas are amazing but pappas in my opinion has a level of service that is a cut of above.

First off, I don't even eat steak. But holy cow this is one of the top five steaks I've had or can remember liking. I am just so sad that I was not the one who ordered the steak. We came here in a group on restaurant week. My husband ordered the steak and I had the lobster. The lobster was great, don't get me wrong. But damn... that steak! I've been here once before and had the salmon and I believe I liked it too. But every time I come here hands-down, it will always be steak. I wish we had an option for soup on the restaurant menu. Some of us don't like salad. I tried their house. The dressing was... Ehhh. Took a couple bites and couldn't eat the rest. The dessert was good. But nothing to die for. The peanut butter chocolate cake was additional charge. It was suppose to be amazing according to our waiter. It fell flat and the entire table of 8 people agreed. It was not good and no one finished it. The cheesecake very rich, but I still like Cheesecake Factory better. The key lime was very tart but still good. I think that was the dessert I liked most. Service was excellent!!! Top notch! They know how to treat you right and noticed when you're not really liking your dish. Always checking to make sure your steak came out to your specification. I definitely want to make this a yearly restaurant stop.

I had came here for my boyfriend birthday and it happened to be on restaurant week too. The place is really nice and the lights aren't too dark where you can't see anything lol I had gotten the lobster which was amazingly juicy! I was honestly full from my house salad which was really good too. My boyfriend had gotten the New York strip steak and WOW it was so GOOD! I have nothing to complain about this place because my experience and service was A++! Our server was really attentive and funny! I would definitely come back here and would recommend everyone to come here and try their steak! :) Also their champagne swizzle is simply delicious! Give it a try!

I came here while I was visiting Dallas for 2 days and have to say this place is the best steakhouse I have ever been to.... And I've been to a lot of steakhouses! We started off with crab cakes and their Caesar salad. The crab cakes were really good, but the salad was just OK for me. For our entrees, we both ordered the Akaushi ribeye steaks and shared the crab Mac and cheese and mushrooms for sides. Seriously this meal was amazing. Like melt in your mouth amazing. I wish I had room for dessert, but we ordered a bottle of wine and with the appetizers and meal, I just didn't have any room. I probably won't be back in Dallas for a long while, but if and when I do come back this place is going to be my first stop for dinner. I didn't see the bill, but even if I had to pay for it, this place is worth every dime.

One of the better meals I've had in Dallas. The deviled eggs are, hands down, the best I've ever had. The crab cakes appetizer was delicious too. For entrees I had the double lamb chop (it was nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked), and hubs had the NY strip which he said was great. Of the sides, my favorite was the crab mac and cheese. The dessert of the day was a chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. It was great. Not sure if it's as good as Nick and Sam's, but it's close.

I am not a huge meat person, and especially not steak for that matter, but this place is so unbelievably delicious that I almost felt as though I died and went to heaven. The fried oysters are seasoned so well and have plenty of crisp to it and the dipping sauce is oh so delicious! The crab is tender and tastes so fresh and the butter is like something that was churned by angels! The bread that comes out when your first seated is served so warm and soft you just want to keep eating more and more. The Tomahawk steak that we got was enough to feed four people and it was served medium rare just as we asked. It was so tender, juicy and flavorful that I could not believe I was actually enjoying this steak! The cheesecake was creamy and soft and the crust just fell apart in my mouth beautifully with everything else. The drinks are all well-made and top-notch. The owner of this restaurant spares no expense to serve the very best in service and food!!

Food (5/5) My boyfriend and I came into Pappas Bros to celebrate our anniversary - because hey, putting up with my shenanigans for one year calls for a celebration. Let me just summarize how I feel about this place in six words: THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. And when I say the best, it was the best on all dishes. For our side dishes, we had an appetizer order of the crab cakes and the crab mac and cheese side. Both were phenomenal. The pairing of the crab cakes with capers and fried potato strings was an interesting twist, but I think the crab mac and cheese trumped it by far. Perfectly al dente macaroni covered in hot thick cheese with generous lumps of tender crab meat. What's not to love?? For the entrees, I ordered the Akaushi 6 oz filet, while my boyfriend got the NY strip 14 oz. When you order the Akaushi, it comes with a full sized Caesar salad and a side dish of your choice (crab mac and cheese has a small upcharge). But dear godddddd, that Akaushi was so extremely tender and full of flavor. Not too burnt or charred, and they cooked it to the perfect degree of medium rare. But wait, there's more! I was surprised by the accompanying bone marrow served with the Akaushi - since when did the food gods decide I got to have a little extra? Anyways, the marrow was perfectly crusted in breading and tasted phenomenal without feeling too heavy. While my boyfriend enjoyed his NY strip, he immediately became jealous of my Akaushi after taking a small bite and vowed to order it next time. Service (5/5) We couldn't have asked for better service for our anniversary dinner. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable, and the sommelier helped me pick out a tasty Riesling. Periodic checkups were performed to ensure we were doing well without feeling too overwhelmed. The waiter even took care of our dessert for our anniversary and provided candles for the special occasion. Truly exceptional :) Atmosphere (5/5) Dark wood accents abound at Pappas Bros, but what else are you to expect at a fancy steakhouse? There are plenty of tables, but there are also tiny booths for more intimacy. Extremely clean space! Bottom Line This place is pretty pricy, but it is worth every freaking penny, y'all. The food, service, and atmosphere are the epitome of a fine steakhouse. Always a superb choice for special occasions or if you feel like being a high roller and splurging on great steak :)

We chose this restaurant last night. I was not disappointed. The ambience is amazing. Piano played on the bar area but we sat on the dining area. Our water glass never got below half empty, the waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. This isn't somewhere you walk in from the street in jeans amd a t shirt. Business casual is perfect. Low lighting, dark wood..a good old feel to it. The crab mac and cheese is amazing. I wouldn't leave without ordering it. I had a filet cooked to perfection. My boyfriend had bone in strip with lobster. The lobster melted in our mouths. We ordered the mushrooms as a side and I can say I wasn't too thrilled. Good flavor but cooked a little long. We decided to just go for the gold and order dessert. We ordered cheesecake and creme brulee. The cheesecake can feed 4 but delicious. I preferred the creme brulee. Excellent flavor. We will return

On a road trip and had one night in Dallas. We wanted a good steak for our time in Texas. We came to the right place. The service was great. We sat near the bar, however, and witnessed the cooks yelling at each other in a fight about a mistake and that seemed a little unprofessional considering their customers clearly could see the scene. Luckily, the amazing food easily distracted us. The sides are giant and shareable. GET THE AU GRATIN POTATOES! The jumbo asparagus was also great. The ribeye and filet were the best we've ever had. My boyfriend and I are from Chicago and even talked about making the drive back to Dallas just to come here again.

Personally, I think Pappas Bros offers the best steak in the DFW metroplex. Be sure to get the Lobster Bisque for an appetizer. It's delicious. The food and service is always excellent and the ambience is great. I think the food at Pappas is much better than either Del Frisco or Ruth's Chris. Try it out!

The server's introduction felt a little like a sales pitch and seemed somewhat pretentious. He went on stating that this is the number one steak house in Dallas and one of the top five in the country, very salesman like and unnecessary. He was very knowledgeable and memorized many items and specials as well as many different types of craft beer. We started with the lobster deviled eggs - amazing! Would definitely recommend you trying those. My boyfriend got 22oz bone in ribeye and I got the 16oz ribeye. While I would not say it's the best steak we've ever had, it was delicious. They were cooked perfectly to our preferences also. We also had a side of asparagus. Their items are a la carte and their side items are family size, so we did well sharing the asparagus. We also got dessert to go, creme brulee and key lime pie, also very yummy. Overall, very tasty and great service but I feel if you're going to spend that much on a meal, you deserve to be nit picky about certain details. Oh, and bring your suit and tie! Bring your nice dresses ladies, this place is fancy. Also, it is recommended you reserve a table in advance

Probably the best steak I've ever had in my life. I'm not a huge steak connoisseur, but it was fantastic. This is an "expense account and special occasions only" kind of place for me. It is very, very expensive. However, I wouldn't say it's unreasonably priced. I think it's actually a bit less to come here than it is to go to The Old Warsaw, and I think it's better. For my fiancee's birthday, we had: -Lobster mac and cheese -Fried Potatoes -Peppercorn New York Strip (her entree) -16 oz ribeye (my entree) The service was pretty good (a bit slow), but the food was fantastic. I was expecting nothing less, as they are a Pappa's restaurant. We didn't have any (we couldn't fit another bite), but the desserts looked fantastic also. A good bet may be to come here and order off their "bar" menu. It's a very small menu (I think only a couple of selections), but they're a bit cheaper and come with mashed potatoes. Also--one thing worth noting... this is a VERY dark restaurant. I like that they have it darker as steaks just don't taste as good under bright, florescent lights for some reason. Suit and tie isn't required, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with anything less than business formal attire. I'd stick with button down shirts (not polos) and slacks. They also had a cigar room, if that's your thing.

Fantastic service, geeat food. The hostess was vey nice and our waiter was excellent. I wasn't the biggest fan of the pepper corn steak, but it everything else was amazing. The mac and cheese is awesome also the lobster bisque. They weren't actually serving the lobster bisque, but the whipped some up for us. And I cant forget about the desert, now I was at a dinner party of 8 so I got to try just about everything they have. I personally ordered the s'more it was amazing. We ended up spending just under $2,000

I wanted to wait until I had eaten here on three occasions before I reviewed, as my second time eating here was not a stellar experience. First things first, the food is consistently excellent. The steaks are delicious and the sides are scrumptious. I know I can expect a wonderful steak and get just that every time. The service varies and there is an ambiance fail inside the restaurant. After the first visit, subsequent service and the overall dining experience never quite lived up to the first visit, which is mainly because the service was never as good, the atmosphere is disappointing, and sometimes, for me, when I have a great first experience with something, nothing ever seems to live up to that first! On our second visit, we were seated where we had been the first time, a rather compact and crowded room off the main dining room. If you're walking towards the back of the restaurant, it's the first smaller room to the left. Aside from feeling a little squished in and feeling like there's no privacy, on our second visit, the room became horribly loud. Granted, the time we were dining was close to the holidays and it looked like several groups were having holiday parties. Normally this is fine if you're not in a smallish, confined room where several tables have been pushed together to accommodate and you are practically sitting at the same table as the noisemakers. The intrusive level of noise almost ruined the experience for me. When a manager came by to ask how our meal was, I mentioned the noise level, to which he responded, "I'll keep an ear on it." I wasn't expecting anything to be done about it as their large party provided much more revenue than our party of two, I just wished it hadn't been so noisy. Since our first experience was so good and we really enjoyed the food, I wanted to give Pappas another try. Our third experience was better than the second. During the time of making the reservation, we had specifically requested not to be seated in the dreaded small room, and they honored that request and put us in a different small room off the the side of the main dining room! The dynamics were different this time around and it was not nearly so loud and unpleasant during our third visit. We were also seated in a booth, which helped with the crowded feeling. Also, I think the entire restaurant has a tendency to get loud and depending on the dynamics of the diners at a particular time, it could be loud anywhere in the restaurant. On our third visit, our waiter seemed a bit forgetful and apologized to us throughout the meal stating that he usually does a better job. Service was still decent though and we had a good meal. The bottom line for me is, you will enjoy consistently delicious food at Pappas. The ambiance and service are not always desirable, but the food will not disappoint. We enjoyed our third meal immensely and will definitely return for a serious steak fix!

Delicious steak (buttery, cooked perfectly). I absolutely loved the crab mac and cheese. I wouldn't say this is the only place you can find a great steak in Dallas, and it may not even be the best steak you could find in Dallas, but what sets this place apart is the service. It was OUTSTANDING. Not intrusive, but friendly and attentive. Great job selecting and training your staff.

I have always been pleased with my experiences at Pappas Bros, but this is the first opportunity I've had to Yelp them. My man was unconvinced that Pappas Bros had some of the best steaks in town until he took his first bite of a 22oz dry-aged bone-in prime rib eye. At that moment he had to concede all my praise for their steaks were fully justified. Tiny rivulets of fat and intense beefy flavor in every bite made this one of the most sublime steak-eating we've ever experienced. No mistakes with regards to doneness--the kitchen knows how to deliver medium-rare without ever going a minute over. Even with the infrequency of my visits, the steaks at Pappas are hard to forget. As with most steakhouses of this caliber, appetizers and sides are family-sized affairs. We opted for crab cakes and were quite happy that the light, fluffy cakes weren't weighed down by a mayo filling, but instead paired exceeding well with the lemon caper butter sauce. Huge loaves of crusty fresh-baked bread are always offered and difficult to resist--given how well butter compliments it. This is one of a handful of places that I would gladly forego my self-imposed ban on processed grain carbs just to nosh on this bread all night long. Service is always attentive and very professional, obligatory of an upscale establishment--and at this price point, very much appropriate. However, large groups and holiday dining festivities can infringe on an intimate occasion. Make sure to notify the restaurant ahead of time of any special requests and they will make every effort to accommodate.

When it comes to steak, this is THE place to go! The bone-in filet is outstanding and unique, as I've never seen one on any menu before. The lobster is also wonderful and fresh. I really liked the meat counter/display near the bar area when you walk in. As for the wine list, it's more like a 3 lb. book! I've never seen anything like it before. 4 people on staff to answer questions about wine and champagne, not to mention that 1 of the persons is a wine master! Very impressive.I've eaten at some wonderful restaurants and steakhouses from coast to coast but this one is hands down the best. III Forks in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida is the only other place I would say comes close. Yes, better than the original on the tollway in North Dallas. The service @ Pappas Bros. was also very good and attentive. I really like the decor, too. It almost makes you feel like you're in another time, perhaps the late 1800's, dining on a fancy, first class train. I will definitely be going back to Pappas Bros. Steakhouse.

Wow! My entire table was very pleased! The ambiance was great and the food was better. I am not a meat eater so I didn't know what to expect but the sea bass was excellent. The wine list is very extensive and i recommend their version of a Moscow mule.

Service was excellent, but my ribeye was too salty for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I love salt (I have high hypertension and cholesterol) but my steak was salty. Flavor was all around good. My steak was cooked as I requested.

The food was exquisite! Steak/lobster duo - yum! Clam chowder - superb! The best I have ever had! Amazing 2005 Rioja! The service was nice, although the server was supposed to open wine bottle at our table, not somewhere else, and she should have offered the taste to the man first, not just pour it into the glasses. Just a little etiquette mishap... The rest was great!!!

Extremely popular steak house. Service was good, prices as expected, and a decent menu. The steak...ok, my ribeye was cooked correctly to my order (medium) but had a black, oily look and odd taste to it. It looks and tasted as if cooked in a cast iron pan that had been used many times before but not cleaned. The wife's steak was similar. I prefer grilled and slightly seasoned (salt and pepper) - these were neither.

2.5 stars for Restaurant Week: Salads, sides & service were impeccable. Ordered an extra creamed spinach (excellent). The chocolate PB (pretty good) cake I took to go . All three of us ordered the "NY Prime Steak." Cooked just a pinch under the medium I requested. Didn't have a problem with fat or gristle, just didn't pack the explosive flavor that a prime-graded steak on a 700 degree oven. Been to Ruth's, Flemings, YO Ranch, plus a handful of local prime joints. Seemed like they had a bin of "restaurant week steaks" ready for us. Kudos for participating. Henry provided wonderful service just the same. Liked the decor (lots of patrons were playing with the phone situated in the booths). I may return for a special occasion in my travels to Dallas, but I'll be expecting a big upgrade a la carte.

Hands down the BEST steak my husband and I have ever eaten!! On top of that there isn't a single item we have tried and not loved. From appetizers to their fantastic desserts this meal is something we look forward to when we want a special night out. They have an enormous wine menu and amazing after dinner drinks too. We ask for the same server every single time we go and we won't go unless Erika is working. She treats us like royalty and it's nice to be pampered every once in a while! Thank you!!

We had a great time here. I had the rib eye while my partner had the lamb chops. Both were great. Our server was very attentive. The steaks were not the the best like he said but it was ok. We would more than likely come back.

Love it! We have been here several times. This is our go to place for our anniversary and special occasions. You get what you pay for! Excellent dry-aged steaks that melt in your mouth. Sides are delicious. Great atmosphere with the perfect lighting. I also attended a company function in the reserved room, which was quaint and lovely. Waitstaff is attentive, polite and friendly.

What an awesome find in Texas! Those Pappas Bros sure know what they are doing!!! This past weekend the BF and I headed down to Texas for the first time. Given the heat and humidity we weren't really planning on doing any fine dining. But on our last night we wanted something special... STEAK! So we checked Yelp and found Pappas Bros Steakhouse. The service there is amazing, our waiter was extremely helpful and kept trying to get us to move to Texas. Food: Crab Cakes - these were good but I think we could have done without them since we ordered a good amount of food Lobster Bisque - nice chunks of lobster meat Rib-eye topped with Foie Gras - well this was a huge treat since CA no longer serves foie gras, the rib-eye was perfectly cooked (but could have used a tad more salt) Skillet Potatoes with Bacon - wow these were delicious, I loved the bacon and garlic Sadly, there was no room for dessert. I will definitely be coming back the next time I visit Texas.

Excellent experience, from the moment you pull up to the valet and get out of your vehicle. Great Steaks, exceptional staff, and an EXCELLENT wine selection. I even ran into Tucker Max here one night, he agreed with me, it's the best steak in Texas.

Had an anniversary meal with my wife. Couldn't hear each other over the multiple tables yelling across their tables just to be heard. Kid with an iPad movie at 1 outa every 4 tables. $60 steak, which was good, comes out in a bare plate. No sides or presentation at all. Wine list was spectacular as well as the somm service. Not worth the price, wish I spent my money elsewhere $250 for 2 people can be spent better elsewhere. 1 star off for atmosphere. 1 star off for food presentation including lackluster bread.

I was here for work. I love this place.... I would go here before N&S anyday. We used the catering department given the size of party we had and they were great to work with (Suzanne). We were in the wine room - which is the only way to go. It's the equivalent of first class air travel... Don't do it or you will want it every time!

Love love love! My hubby & I are not TX natives, so we tried several different steakhouses on the advice of others. Perry's & III Forks were both pretty good, but Pappas Bros. Steakhouse was a head above the rest! From start to finish, our service experience & meal was absolutely wonderful. It was even worth the price (which was certainly hefty) and I would encourage anyone to celebrate their next special occasion here!

The steaks were cooked perfectly. Medium rare on a big strip steak is an art, and they nailed it. The appetizers were great. The mushrooms tasted horrible but we swapped out for the asparagus which was great and the server was apologetic. Price was what we expected for a high end steakhouse. Very much enjoyed the experience and will return for special occasions.

BEST STEAK I'VE EVER HAD. I've been to some great steak houses, both chains and stand alone, but none can compare to what I had here. It was phenomenal and one of those "last meal" type experiences. Truly the best...

Overall a great place, I know it has been rated the best in Dallas, but I can't differentiate this place from the next. Came in on a Monday night at 7, was pretty packed for a Monday I would say. In the main dining room, dimly lit, but with tons of noise. Somewhat difficult to hear what my gf was saying at times. Service: Really good, prompt, waiter knew the menu items back and forth. He was able to make some good suggestions and seemed knowledgeable. Also, didn't over hover or come around an excessive amount of times. Food: Like I said, I am not too big of a critique and can't differentiate a really great steak from the next. My gf and I went to 3 forks two weeks ago and the food was similar. But if you know me and my reviews, I also throw big weight to value. I had a 16oz ribeye cooked medium rare, nicely prepared and au gratin potatoes. Steak will run you about $48 and potatoes about $14. My gf had a medium sized seafood tower as her meal. This included: about 25 shrimp, 9 oysters, 2 pieces of king crab, and a lobster tail, turned out to be a lot of food. Both items were really good. I like this place, but I think I would pick 3 forks or Bob's over it due to my value scale rating.

I don't Yelp much but do read reviews but I had to for this place. By far one of the best steakhouses I have been to in a loooong time. The service, the ambience, the setting are along beyond perfect. As you walk in you walk pass a steak freezer where u decide what ur gonna have and the cuts. The steaks are cooked to perfection, served on a super hot plate and the taste - oh la la - is pure Texan Meat, fresh and just cooked right! The sides are also super tasty! The wine list is one to boast ... Back to eating my steak before it gets cold. Just go don't think about it, u will be more than pleased.

Pricey but super good- lobster deviled eggs are awesome and something I never had before. Mashed potatoes and the wild mushrooms rock. The bone in prime ribeye is my favorite. The sea bass is fantastic as well. If you aren't on a budget or looking to splurge - this is the place to go.

I go to a ton of nice restaurants all around the DFW and the country for work dinners. I truly believe Pappas is one of the top steak houses in the country. I think I like it even better since they aren't located in every city. I'm lucky to live near the Dallas location so it's my "go to" steakhouse for special occasions and business dinners. Everything works here. Valet, hostesses, servers, bartenders. They all over deliver on customer service. Cocktails? Yes, they have an impeccable bar selection and they put extra attention into making your cocktail. They just don't fling it out there to crank them out. I've never had a bad thing to eat here. Salads are tasty. Steaks and so moist and juicy. Always cooked to perfection. Salmon is really good as well. And the sides are huge and enough to feed an army. Desserts are to die for. So for your next special occasion or business dinner go for Pappas!

My husband and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary at a great steakhouse. Pappa Bros exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was so romantic, the food was delicious, service was impeccable. Our waitress was Tina B. who was delightful and attentive without being intrusive. We had the bacon wrapped scallops, 32 oz porterhouse steak, 22 oz bone in prime ribeye steak, au gratin potatoes, midnight chocolate cake. It was all divine!

Very disappointed and sad to say. We been going here for years and after yesterday we will probably never come back. Our service was horrible once we sat down and asked the waiter for the restaurant week menu. His face was unhappy that we asked for that. He never brought out bread for us and his whole mood was pissed off the whole night. We asked for sauce and his response was no and didn't offer an explanation. He would walk off in the middle of us asking for more drinks and then he also did our bill wrong. I just felt that even at restaurant week we are paying that the service should be good at a high end place. Food was good but honestly I can get the same at capital grill or nick and Sam.

This place deserves 5 star but my experience that specific night was subpar, I came with 3 colleagues for a work celebration. We were seated late and then I was asked twice for my ID when about to order a rather nice bottle of wine in a rude way that made me and my guests very uncomfortable. It's too bad that the service was barely mediocre because the food is excellent, probably the best steakhouse in the Dallas metroplex. I'm glad to spend that kind of money for an unforgettable dinner, I don't enjoy being judged and not taken seriously by the maitre d', sommelier and waiter.

I don't give many five star reviews. I save those for the exceptional dining experience. That said, Papas Bros Steakhouse gets one hands down. Everything about the place -- from the valets to the ladies that seated us, our waiter to the guy who filled our water glasses -- was first rate. My wife and I dined there on Mother's Day and both opted for the special, filet and a whole lobster with mashed potatoes, green beans and choice of salad. We added the Mac and cheese side and a desert to go. Our waiter was down to earth, informative and very helpful. My filet, medium rare, was almost fork tender. It was seasoned simply with salt and pepper with a sauce on the side. The sides were very respectable: fresh green beans and mashed potatoes that were just like mother used to make -- and by that I mean slightly lumpy. My Caesar Salad was a healthy size and our waiter offered anchovies which I refused. Spoiler alert -- I'm not a lobster fan but mine was tasty and the drawn butter enhanced the experience. By the time it was time for dessert we were stuffed. We decided to get something to go. It was a decadently rich turtle like chocolate thing. We enjoyed it later that afternoon. Was the meal pricey? Yes. Worth it? You betcha. We'll be back.

Came here for New Years Eve 2014with my fiancé and brother. Best steakhouse we have had since we been in Dallas. The service was impeccable. It was a prefix menu but there was still a good selection of food to choose from. Our server found out we had recently just moved to Texas and gave us some pointers on things to eat and do. We each ordered appetizer, entree, side and dessert. I had the crab cake appetizer, steak filet entree , mash potatoes and a chocolate dessert. We had so much leftover to bring home. Highly recommend this place.

TOP 5 STEAKHOUSES IN AMERICA (according to The Daily Meal)?!?! YEEHAW! I HAD to take a gander at the cookie skill in this posh saloon while roaming Cowboy territory!!! HAD TO! As we moseyed on in though, all I was thinking to myself was, "Please don't let me down. It's very important you don't suck today!" I was really trying to squash the high expectations, hah! Friendly staff at the valet & hostess spots. As a matter of fact, I've never had so many staff members say, "Welcome!" to us before. Certainly a sign this would be a pleasant visit. We were seated in the Wine Cellar Room which kept things enjoyably intimate on our first visit. Derek was our hookup tonight and was fine as cream gravy! With a nice pace to the evening, we sampled a few items... *CRAB MACARONI & CHEESE: Their hyped up version of this classic dish was quite tasty. Creamy and gooey with a nice crusting to the top. Crab was definitely in the mix but it's taste wasn't overpowering at all, which I prefer. *TEXAS AKAUSHI KOBE BEEF RIBEYE: This was 14 ounces of THE BEST RIBEYE I EVER HAD! I sampled Wifey's "regular" filet first, which I thought was perfect already. But THIS?!?! MY GOSH, amazingly better!!! Prepared medium rare , as requested, this was SOOO tender and succulent. How did they sneak Kobe beef stateside?!?! Apparently there's a herd in Texas that came from Kobe, Japan, that are well guarded and cared for. Worth EVERY penny. Came with a bit of bone marrow, too, but was nothing more than a distraction, unfortunately. Perfect size to enjoy the other courses during our visit. *FILET DUO: Wifey first wanted to order fish here. Are you DAFT, Woman?!? This is a TOP 5 U.S. of A. steakhouse! By jiminy, choose again! With a lil giggle, this was her 2nd choice. 2 Filet Mignon medallions (probably 4-6oz. each) topped in two different ways: a) jumbo lump crabmeat bearnaise AND b) port wine shiitake mushroom with jumbo grilled shrimp. Prepared as requested, this was just the right size for small appetites. Loved this duo option, too. It was like having 2 meals. Delicioso! Not a good as my ribeye, though ;) *VEGETABLES: ASPARAGUS & HARICOT VERTS (French Green Beans) was our greens for the table. Big servings for both but the asparagus were impressively sized. Both sautéed just right, with a nice color and crunch. *CHOCOLATE TURTLE PIE: On Derek's recommendation, we went with this delight. Quite decadent chocolate ganache with Oreo crust worked wonderfully with a scoop of vanilla Hagen Dazs ice cream. Nice rec, Derek! This was such a GREAT evening we were privy to here! We felt quite spoiled with the attention to quality that surrounded this establishment. Certainly, an EASY recommendation!

Where to start? If I could give this place 10 stars i would! The food is amazing beyond words!! Had the seafood which I didn't expect to be great since this is technically a steak house BOY WAS I WRONG. I was so good thinking about the lobster tail is making my mouth water the Mac and cheese was so incredible good.

I wanted Texas steak, and I got Texas steak. This place is as wonderful as all of the reviews have said. I love this incredible chain, because around the corner are all of their different types of restaurants from barbecue to Mexican. We got there early so we ordered a drink at the bar. There is a band that was playing in the bar area, and they were very good. It made for difficult conversation to be had because of volume but I think they played excellent music. We were lucky to get seated by the fireplace. The ambience is wonderful. I kind of wish I had known about the fireplace ahead of time so that I could've had my drink over there given that it was a cooler fall evening in November. We decided to forgo appetizers and share the porterhouse. The fillet portion was perfectly cooked medium rare and melted in our mouths. The New York strip portion was a little bit more medium than medium rare, so I made my husband eat most of that. The crab macaroni and cheese was delicious, but I was hoping for lobster mac & cheese. The cream of spinach was a haven of delicious butter. We had the turtle cake is dessert, and it was decadent. But at that point I was very full. I hope I get to return.

Extremely nice steak house in the Dallas metro area. Saw that it was rated one of the top steakhouses in the country and was determined to give it a try while I was in town. Ordered the 12oz Prime NY Strip and it was good (but could have been better). They actually overcooked the outside and undercooked the inside when I ordered 'medium' throughout. Nothing about the steak was 'medium' but the taste was nice nonetheless. Also, the steak was served to us RIDICULOUSLY hot. I mean, it was spitting flames as our server laid it on our table. I think it would be in the best interest for everybody if we just let that thing cool for a bit prior to serving. The sides: went with the Au Gratin potatoes and the creamed spinach. The potatoes were phenomenal . . . for the first five minutes. Then the cheese started to harden and it lost it's way a bit. The creamed spinach was good, not great. The dessert was ridiculous. ENORMOUS slices of cakes and pies. I had a pecan pie a la mode and it was very good. The atmosphere is the real strength of this restaurant. 5 stars all the way for ambiance. And beyond 5 stars for the service. Two steaks, a couple glasses of wine, two sides, and two desserts put it close to a $300 evening. I'll return, but there are a lot of other solid steak houses in Dallas that I want to try first.

The hype ? food was not that great...ambience not that great....waitstaff not that great... We thought it would be wonderful , but were shocked.....Bobs Steakhouse is 10 X better..... Just because it has PAPPAS infront of it doesnt mean its great....I love Pappadeux.....but the steakhouse, bbq and mexican restaurant need a re do asap......great company ...but they need to revamp their menus and environment....it worked for a long time, but with 10000's of choices to eat , PAPPAS BROS need to get with the times....

The premise: Came her for a birthday dinner. We reserved in advance but I don't think it's necessary, there's plenty of seating available. We came for a party of 5, the bill in total was $500 so yes, what they say is true, expect about $100 per person, but you will leave STUFFED. There's valet as well. Ambiance: It was dark. So dark I can barely see what I am eating. So dark they have to shine a flashlight on your steak to see if it's cooked to the way you like it. . Service: AMAZING. SO NICE. And we were a pretty picky crowd. I think all of the money goes to the service as it certainly isn't the food. They fold your napkins back every time you get up, they wipe down the tablecloth (or scrape off the crumbs) in between every meal. Food: Okay. This will be long. Basically every person got an appetizer and a dish so that we could all share. I think it's a great idea, especially because every single dish is way too big for just one person. We got: 1. Appetizer: -Au gratin potatoes: ($14)I got this. It was the best au gratin I've ever had in my life. Cheesy, rich, seasoned potatoes. The dish was big enough to be a meal. It was almost too rich, if that was a thing, and slightly on the salty side but I loved it. The potatoes were fluffy and served warm, and the cheese was....different. It was melty gooey on the inside, and burnt and kind of crunchy on the outside. -Crab macaroni and cheese ($17)- An off menu special. For some reason, this was good, but I didn't rave about it like all the other yelpers and neither did anyone at our table.. It's like if you just took good quality mac and cheese (not the kraft kind) and stirred lumps of crab meat in it. The crab meat was real and soft...but it tasted just like crab stirred into the mac and cheese. The flavors didn't blend, but they used quality crab and really creamy milky cheese so that was a plus. -Beef Carpaccio ($20)- . It's basically thin slices of beef (maybe 8 thin thin slices) seared slightly on the outside but raw on the inside. . It's served with a side of raw greens and creamy slices of potatoes and some sort of thin crispy flat bread. it tasted okay, but the winning touch was that it was served on a thick heavy slab of pink himalayan salt And yes, it did make everything it touched salty so don't rub your food into it. This was also the smallest side in terms of quantity. -Clam Chowder ($10)- The soup of the day. It's a pretty small bowl, and I didn't try it.but the person who got it said it tasted like campbell's clam chowder. Skip. -Roasted potatoes- ($14) This came as part of the entree. It's really big, but in the end, it's just that. Roasted potatoes. Salty. But still good. -Wild Mushrooms ($14) Still part of the entree. It's thick, buttery slabs of black mushrooms, well seasoned and juicy. Went well with the steak, but again, its just...good mushrooms. Like what you would expect to eat when your mom makes steak. 2. Entree -16 oz ribeye ($53)- This was a case where my extreme gluttonous self once again got me in trouble. It's just WAY too big for a 5'3 girl. Like, 3x too big. I wish I had gotten the smaller 12 oz, but then again it's still way too big. I ordered it medium rare. BUT THE STEAK THOUGH. It just wasn't good. It was just seasoned with salt and pepper; I can't tell the difference at all. That's not the worst part: -Kobe beef ($75) My partner got this. I was severely underwhelmed. It was just dry chewy meat. It came with a salad and side so you get a good portion..but it was only 6 oz. He didn't even finish it. Honestly my steak was better. It came with a large halved chunk of bone marrow. It might be a delicacy but none of us liked it at all, it had a weird gooey, lumpy fatty taste. -Kobe Filet Mignon ($99) This is painful to type and I didn't even order this. Base price of $75 for 6oz, diner got 2oz extra so it came out to be $99. It too came with a side and a salad. Poor thing, he barely ate half of it. It was just so dry and chewy. And it was supposed to be a special too. He tried the ribeye and loved it though, even though it wasn't that good to begin with. -Bone in Prime rib eye ($58) 22oz- Mediocre as well. The only thing that made it good was the fat in it. But the bone and the fat rendered half the thing inedible. So really you're getting like 11 oz for $58. 3. Dessert: -Midnight Cake ($11)- Free for birthday. Big, way too sweet. Served with ice cream. -Smores Mousse ($11) Big. Kinda like chocolate whipped cream mixed with marshmallows. For a steak house, the steak was so mediocre. Everything at this place is kind of really salty. All the ingredients here are of the highest quality...but it just wasn't extraordinarily yummy, it just doesn't blend right.. I just had salt grass yesterday and I couldn't stop thinking about how melt in your mouth soft it was at like 1/5 the price. And although everything was high quality, it just doesn't mean that it will be good.I suggest you skip and go elsewhere.

Took my parents here for their 31st wedding anniversary and definitely had a great time. We ordered a 14 oz. Filet Mignon, Lamb Chops, Crab Mac n Cheese, Au Gratin Potatoes, and Salmon with Shrimp. Everything was sooooooooo good! It was super busy that night and our waiter was all over the place but still took time to explain things to us and tend to us. We had actually ordered the Double Lamp Chops but I think the waiter heard us wrong and the Rack of Lamb came out. We didn't say anything and just enjoyed it even though it was $50 more to our bill. Definitely know that you will be spending around $75-$100 per person here, including tip. The décor is awesome and so is the atmosphere. I love that place but I will still say that I liked Nick & Sam's more. Just personal preference and enjoyed the steak and atmosphere there more.

First time at Pappa's Steak house in many years. But I will definitely be back soon. I had a 12oz Filet and it was cooked exactly the way I like my steaks. It was flavorful & seasoned really well. Also tried the lobster mac & cheese. It was by far the best I've had. Great service!!!

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Dallas. I have come with my family and girlfriend for Restaurant Week over the past 5 years consecutively. The service is impeccable and the food is nothing short of fantastic. We had a few bottles of wine from Walla Walla, Washington which was an excellent paring with my filet and shrimp. Coffee was alright but just what I needed along with my slice of cheesecake. I would definitely recommend!

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was overall a lovely night. Our server was wonderful and the food was one of the best I've had. The ambience/decor are also spot on. For our entrees we had a filet mignon and broiled atlantic salmon fillet with roasted wild mushrooms to share. My filet mignon was cooked perfect medium, juicy and tender. The salmon was huge in portion and came with two jumbo shrimp and lump crabmeat which was also really good. The salmon was moist and the white wine sauce it came with was perfect. The server also asked us what we were celebrating that night and after we told her we were there to celebrate a wedding anniversary, she accomodated us with a free dessert and had Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. My husband and I had a wonderful night and this place is well worth the money!!

Possibly my favorite steak in Texas, they have an equally great location in Houston where its always a tough choice between Pappas Bros or Vic & Anthony's. Pappas Bros reigns supreme in Dallas and quite possibly in all of Texas. A strong recommendation for this location if you're in the Dallas (or Houston) area.

We had a party of 4 for Restaurant Week on a Saturday night. While waiting to be seated we tried a Japanese whiskey at the bar, really smooth. We were seated on time. Our waiter, Frank H, was great. We never felt rushed. I needed some help with the wine list and he brought over a young man (who's name I can't remember) that turned out to be very helpful. Over the course of the evening we had a wonderful bottle of Napa Sauvignon Blanc and a Red Bordeux from St. Emilion - both had 9 years of aging. You will be hard pressed to find a better wine list in town. The salads were good, as were the turtle gumbos. The steaks were really good. One of the 4 was overcooked and we had to send it back, but the quickly corrected that minor mistake. The lobster Mac and Cheese was a good side. The desserts were heavenly as well. After a so-so experience last year at Restaurant week I had sort of put this restaurant on hold. Thanks to my wife for giving it a second chance. It has to be one the best steak restaurants in town and worth a calorie & wallet splurge.

This restaurant is a great steak place. Not to mention they have superb customer service. Me and my husband went randomly on a late Friday night. I got the special which came with the filet mignon and a lobster tail. My husband ordered the ribeye. I wasn't a fan of the filet, it lacked deep flavor. On the other hand the ribeye was perfect. Everything is a la carte. The special came with mashed potatoes and asparagus.

I'm FANCY, hunh! Loved the Quality & "Fanciness" here! The service was "over the top" great. My husband and I felt like a Queen & King.....until the bill came :-) LOL! Our waiter could not have been nicer or more attentive. He gave us excellent suggestions for cocktails, beer, and food! The ambiance is beautiful. Very low lighting made for a romantic dinner for two. I had a bourbon cocktail - the bourbon is purchased exclusively by Pappas Bros. They do Not skimp on the exclusive bourbon. We had the deviled egg with lobster appetizer. It was rich, creamy, "pickley" and delicious. For an entree, my hubby had the HUGE porterhouse steak. It was was cooked perfectly medium rare. My duo filet were a little over medium rare, but they tasted so perfect, I didn't care. One filet had crab meat on it, and the other was topped off with a white wine, mushroom, and shrimp sauce. The duo also comes on top of perfectly crisped potato cakes. I was stuffed, but had to try dessert. I'm a "dessert-a-holic." Their creme brulee was exquisite and a huge portion. All portion sizes are quite large. We had leftovers! Expensive restaurant, but well worth a nice treat.

THIS IS A GIFT CARD REVIEW. I've ordered gift cards from Pappas twice and each time they take FOREVER to arrive in the mail. Be aware when you need to purchase one for birthdays or holidays. Its 7-10 "business" days not 7-10 days guaranteed delivery. Go for an e-card instead if you have a deadline. Very disappointed.

I've heard nothing but awesome things about Pappas Bros for years now and finally got the chance to try it out for Restaurant Week this year. We were about 20 minutes early for our reservation and invited to wait at the bar which had a nice atmosphere and friendly hostesses/bartenders. Our table was ready within probably 5 minutes of us sitting at the bar which was fine. Upon sitting at our table, all I could think about was how dark this place was. Seriously. As someone with not-so-great eyesight, I would've benefited immensely from a flashlight. I was not a fan, especially as my food pictures turned out almost black (damn you, iPhone 4). Anyways, onto the food!: For an appetizer (suggested by the waitress), we got the crab mac & cheese which was a little too creamy for my taste. From the RW menu: I got a Caesar salad, the filet, and the raspberry sorbet. The salad was huge and drenched in dressing (but I'm the kind of person who likes my dressing on the side). The filet came with delicious bacon mashed potatoes and green beans as well as a random (and slightly unnecessary) jumbo shrimp. But the filet was top notch, seasoned and cooked amazingly, probably the best I've ever had. The sorbet itself was good but came in this chocolate cup thing that I wasn't a fan of plus I was to the point of a food coma. If just food alone, I'd have given this a four. But an extra star is needed because the service here was amazing. Like I said, the hostesses and bartenders were extremely friendly. There was also a point when I realized that they don't just tell their patrons where the restroom is (seriously, it's so dark you could get lost), but they actually show them. They were super busy when I asked so the worker apologized profusely for not being able to take me but he explained it perfectly. Most suggestions I got were to try the ribeye but unfortunately that was not part of their RW menu so if I get the chance, I will definitely have to come back to try that.

Sitting in a fucking hotel room alone in a city that I do not like and drunk. Earlier my boyfriend ditches me. "What the Hell and what the Hell am I supposed to have for dinner sans bf?" The boy says, "cab to Pappas Steakhouse, sit at the bar and don't talk to any boys" Before he has a chance to escape, "Do they have grass fed?" "Babe this this is year four and I promised a Super Bowl" I am alone, back in our room and carb filled. No grass fed beef, I am feeling guilty and 10:30 at night wondering if my boy will ever return to me. I hope you choked on your whattaburger because my grain fed steak was an amazing full body orgasm.

Pappas continues to be one of my favorite restaurants. I had been to the one in Houston a few times and just moved to the Dallas area. Decided to try out the Dallas location and it was just as good. The service is always impeccable and the food is amazing. The sides are great. Get the Mac and cheese. Most steak places don't habe good sides, but I could make a meal of pappas sides. You won't be sorry if you go.

An attorney we work with in Florida was in town and invited a few of us to dinner at Pappas Brothers. I've never been there and have been wanting to visit so I gladly accepted the invitation. Succinctly stated, every aspect of our visit was spot-on. No matter what Pappas concept I visit, this is consistently the case. We started with cocktails in the bar. The only blemish on the evening (I'm reaching here) was the absence of Buffalo Trace bourbon. The Woodford Reserve was just fine. The bar filled up rather quickly so we took our cocktails and were promptly seated at our table. I was very impressed with the ambience and décor. Pappas has the look and feel of a classic New York steak house. The service was impeccable and our steaks were outstanding. I opted for a dry aged 14 ounce NY Strip. My steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I usually manage to save a few ounces of beef to take home. Not tonight - I ate the whole thing. The wine list was quite expansive and it took me awhile to navigate my way through it. They do offer a wide variety of wines ranging in price from well below $100 all the way up to thousands of dollars. I'm thankful I got to visit and I look forward to returning - hopefully sometime soon.

We came here tonight for DFW Restaurant Week. We are huge steak lovers and my hubby told me that he heard that Pappa Bros was one of the best steakhouses around. Our reservation was for 6:30 and we arrived 30 minutes early because of the lack of traffic. The hostess was very friendly and seated us before our reservation time. We still had a second to grab a drink in the bar. However, the bar prices were ridiculous. $7 for a Shiner? My hubby and I were pleased with our waitress and her attention to detail. I started my meal with a house salad, which was my favorite part of the meal. Besides the avocado ranch, the bacon was my favorite part of the salad. My hubby had the Caesar. We each ordered the dry aged NY Strip. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans. I enjoyed the steak, but I should have ordered the filet. It is my favorite. For dessert, I had the chocolate peanut butter cake with chocolate ganache. Delicious! It had bits and pieces of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups around and on top of the cake. My hubby had the cheesecake. I snuck a bite and it was delicious as well. Both desserts were generously portioned and could have been split. The valet service was incredibly professional and quick. This is a quality steakhouse and I am glad we were able to participate in Restaurant Week.

Favorite steak house period. It is always a pleasure coming here, the food is to die for and the service is absolutely amazing. I thought i knew steak until i had pappas bros. The steak is well aged making it really tender and rich in extra beefy-ness. It was also well seasoned, it is amazing how they can make it that amazing without using a pan or a grill. For appetizers we had the carpaccio which was amazing, the beef was like butter, and had as much flavor as a bite of steak. We also got the foie gras which is also amazing and my only complaint is how small the portion size was. its dark in here. its really hard to take photos of my food without looking like a fool. you need to eat here. like you NEED to

Took my parents here for their 50th wedding anniversary & it did not disappoint! We were greeted & seated right away by the host staff. I didn't even have to request a private, tucked away spot, it's like they intuitively knew what we needed. The extra-mile service didn't stop there...our waiter, Serge, was amazing and made us feel like VIPs...the Sommelier was knowledgeable, helpful & patient as we waded through the mega-extensive wine list...the waitstaff worked as a team & were perfectly attentive without being too much. Everyone wished my parents a happy anniversary & Serge presented them with candles in their desserts. We had salads, steaks, sides & desserts, and everything was delicious! Definitely a special occasion place with the price tag to match, but so worth it for a memorable milestone celebration!!

Quality! Went here for my boyfriend's birthday and got a personal butler as a waiter. Incredible interior to house their marvelous steak. He got the bone-in new york strip and I got the special at the time which was an 8 oz. steak accompanied with a lobster tail. The steak was beyond quality, the best-of-the-best. The asparagus was superb! (tender, crispy, and juicy) We got the cheesecake for dessert and they wrote Happy Birthday on his plate with a candle which was very thoughtful. If you want that truly fine dinning experience, come to Pappas Bros. you will not be disappointed

I frequent Capital Grill because I love me some steak and their Blue Cheese Wedge salad but they better step it up a notch because this place is better!!! I will say that I was a bit intimidated when I first pulled up and got out of the car because everyone around me was wearing a jacket and I was in town on a business trip with co-workers. The hostess gave us a snotty look but the servers made us feel right at home and treated us like us we belong there. After all my AMEX is just as good as anybody else's. The steak was cooked to perfection, the sides (I would recommend you share with the table) were prepared excellently and it was all delivered with a smile. everyone at my table was pleasantly surprised. The drinks were exquisite and tasted fresh and never had to ask for another! My only regret is that we didn't save room for dessert.

I eat here several times a year. They never fail to impress me and my wife. Bam lobster! Yes please! BAM 100oz bone in cowboy cut on demand like Directv... Heavens I'm blessed! If you don't want great steaks and to max out your credit card then look else where.

It took me a while to come around, but I've come to believe that Pappa's Brothers is probably the best steakhouse in Dallas in terms of quality of food, service and consistency. Sorry, Bob's, Three Forks, et al...it is what it is. Insofar as the steaks are concerned, in the 10 or 11 times I've been, I have only had one piece of beef that was not superlative. On that one occasion, the filet was tough and had a lot of fat on it. I sent it back (which is something I rarely do) and it was quickly replaced with an excellent cut of beef. The steaks have always been cooked to the exact degree of doneness I requested, and were well-seasoned. I usually order the filet, but have also had the veal chop, the bone-in filet, the porterhouse and the ribeye; all have been top notch. I've never had fish there, because, well...why would I do that? Appetizers and sides have all been great. Their carpaccio appetizer is presented in a very interesting manner: it's on a big block of salt... pretty cool. The lettuce wedge and beefsteak tomatoes and onions are excellent starters. I haven't had a side that wasn't way above average. Hell, even the bread and butter are terrific. The wine list is extensive, and while pretty pricey, there are enough choices so you can enjoy a bottle without selling off a kidney to pay for it. The service at Pappas Brothers has never been anything other than exceptional: attentive, knowledgeable, professional. I have eaten at the bar several times, and the bartenders meal service is terrific. The décor and ambience are exactly what you'd expect for a top quality steakhouse. Classy, understated and well-maintained with an art deco look. Yes, the prices are dear. But this isn't a place to go if you're looking for a cheap meal; it's where you go if you want the best you can get.

Spent my birthday weekend in Dallas with plenty of fun in between. Pappas Bros was easily one of the best highlights of the trip. I ordered the ribeye and my girlfriend had the lamb. Both were out of this world...but they weren't the best part. The service was amazing. Coming from someone who values service as much as good food, I was all but impressed by every staff member from the valet to our waiter.

the service is excellent! probably the best i've experience. they are very attentive, the manager stop by and ask if everything is okay. the sommelier is very knowledgeable.. we got creamed spinach and baked potato. we also order their dry aged prime rib eye and the filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly warm red with beautiful crust. we were too full for the dessert. valet parking only.

Pappas Bros is an expensive, upscale and delicious steakhouse. Since I have yet to there in person (I just ordered takeout), I can't comment on the service or atmosphere. The food, however, is another story. Unlike the overrated Morton's Steakhouse, Pappas Bros. is an upscale chain that really delivers; I have only ever eaten at one Steakhouse that was better, overall. A few weeks ago I ordered about three hundred dollars worth of food for myself, my girlfriend and her roommate. While this might sound like a lot, keep in mind that we were very hungry and yet we still had plenty of leftovers. I especially liked the bacon wrapped beef tenderloins. The veal cutlets were also quite good. Overall, I would recommend Pappas Bros to anyone in the mood for delicious, high quality steak. Also, from what I saw of the place when I was picking, it could be a good anniversary night spot to eat at as well.

First time here & it was restaurant week. Salads were very good, big & fresh (house salad comes w bacon, Caesar had fresh romaine). NY strip was very good as well as the mashed potatoes (more bacon!), green beans & asparagus. Dessert was a little disappointing to me as the key lime pie wasn't very tart & the peanut butter chocolate cake was average. The raspberry sorbet was very good if that's your thing. Service was outstanding

Thank you so much to the staff and crew at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. I enjoyed the off menu Texas Wagyu "tomahawk" ribeye last night for my 35th birthday and it was marvelous. Best steak I've ever had, it even trumps Mastros in Beverly Hill's authentic imported Japanese Kobe steaks. Chef was even nice enough to surprise me with a complimentary birthday desert. You will not be disappointed!

We have eaten at all the high-end steakhouses in Dallas and this is our new favorite steakhouse. Excellent food, great service, and classy atmosphere but not like some other steakhouses where it can get loud. Our cocktails exceeded our expectation. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the wedge salad is fantastic. Definitely our new "go to" steakhouse.

Dude... Steak... Good. I left feeling like a civilized cave man. Wonderful experience with exceptional service and food. Dry aged meat. Place ranks in the top five nationally as far as I'm concerned. Deviled eggs for appetizer had a hint of horse raddish bacon kick to it. Set the palate off just right. Lobster Mac and Cheese with Jumbo Asparagus. Old Fashions made just right. Spent more than we expected, but some things are worth every c-note. Pick your cut and let er rip!

Went here for my birthday with a few of my friends last year and was disappointed. I thought this place was going to be good because of all the reviews but I was sadly mistaken. We had fillet mignon, bone in ribeye, porterhouse, and rack of lambs. Everyone had expected more from their meal. Steak was dry and lackluster. We also shared mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, mushrooms, and asparagus. The sides were just mediocre. Nothing spectacular about this entire night. The meal was not worth the price. Would not come back.

Very good steaks. The restaurant was too dark for our taste. The service was so-so. Our waitress may have been overloaded. We had to wait twice for her to show up. Once ordering our drinks and then waiting for her to pick up our check and credit card. However, she was very kind and gave us a complimentary dessert, being our wedding anniversary.
