Giving this place just four stars for now, as we did not try the food. I'll update later if we do. The beer and the scene, however were great. They have over 40 locally made beers on tap...not just bottled, actually on tap. Whether you like the Lakewood Brewery, Revolver, Rahr and Sons, or something else entirely, LUCK has it. And service was prompt and friendly. And the patio for all of those restaurants is awesome. Part of it's covered (Summer is coming) and part is open air, with a great view of downtown and the new bridge. All the trees in the courtyard are lit up...great scene, perfect for a date or a night out with friends.

Set in the fun, new Trinity Groves area, LUCK is the more laid back restaurant amongst a foodie strip. I expected just burgers, but they have a ton of options: good salads, entrees, and delish soft pretzels to pair with their wide selection of beers. Their burger carefully balanced being a gourmet burger while still retaining that non-greasy juiciness of a good burger. Granted, they messed up our order but were so nice about it that it was hard to hold that against them.

Please refer to my post in feb. I returned to repeat my experience of amazing ness (after my very mediocre experience) but was served a fat sandwich. Completely inedible, because instead of a pastrami sandwich, I was served a fat sandwich. New review: consistently inconsistent. It's a roulette table you're sitting at with 50/50 odds. I encourage you to take the risk, bc that one time it was soooo good. However my boyfriend will not return (hence the 50/50 odds)

I had a very opposite experience. My food was terrible. I order the pork and it was dry and tough, the veggies tasted like dirt. We waited over an hour and they don't take reservations. I like the atmosphere, I liked the beer selection, and the area is nice but none of us were blown away. I am willing to try it again and I would try something different. Sorry.

Every single yes. This restaurant is amazing and I will be sure to return. Long local beer menu and although the menu isn't extensive, it is an eclectic mix of great spins on traditional american/southern foods.

Loved the blueberry and butternut squash salad! What a great combination of flavors, especially with the warm nuts. I'd definitely go back for that. The atmosphere is cool/laid back and the service is solid.

I finally got around to checking this place out this past weekend and it did not disappoint. The beer selection is great, especially if you want to try lots of local brews. We ordered a beer flight and regular beer to drink, and then we split the pastrami sandwich with house chips. Man, that sandwich was delicious! I would order it again in a milisecond. We also had the lemon bread pudding and added a scoop of the beer ice cream. Beer ice cream may sound nasty, but you'll have to trust me on this one - it was incredible! It was so rich and creamy without being overwhelming. Of course the atmosphere here is great too, with big wooden tables and a large shaded patio area.

Holy cow do you wanna talk about the worst wait staff I've seen in my life. It felt like I was going to a 7/11 getting a Slurpee and a hotdog , I wish I would never have came here me and my kids are so disappointed with the way we been treated... Hannah the human banana had a distaste of reality as she was our waitress she was so slow like a wounded turtle and very unhappy that she was even born but wait she still had to wait on us. This Is a nightmare that i never want to relive and i rather go on top of the Himalayan mountains and jump off and die. This reminds me of the time I was attacked by 3 pitbulls sometimes I wish I would've never lived. Our dessert was like the eating tar off the roof of an abandon building , oh wait maybe I should get on top of the roof and jump to my miserable death. Luck the restaurant needs some luck here's some advice don't go to Vegas. Now that I have survived this I can only tell you the only reason I gave them two stars on this review is because the staff looked like they were human. Thanks

Great beer selection and beer ice cream. Shrimp and grits was good, though it's hard to not think about Tillman's delicious grits just down the road

Food is and amazing and they have a wide selection of drafts. Giving it 4 stars because I do think it is a little bit over priced. There are a few other places I would rather go to spend $50 bucks for 2. The beer ice cream is a must try!

The host greeted us with a genuine smile and as if we've been friends forever. Our server, Alvin, was wonderful and attentive and suggested the Bierocks which were incredible. A great place to relax and enjoy all of the flavors of anything on the menu. Will definitely be going back!

Stopped in for lunch yesterday and sat outside on a long bench I shared with a girl who wiggled and wiggled. Once she left I was happier and an older guy sat down with his wife and the bench was stable. The music is pumped across the whole platform, being shared by all restaurants and the system sucked. Worst sound quality ever, so it kind ruined it for us. Tinny, loud and harsh. The play list was all over the place , but mostly aggressive music, nothing I would ever play if people were trying to dine and chat. Our waiter was very hipster cool and attentive. We tried the 3 little bun thing stuffed with meat with 2 sauces. It was good. I had a Pastrami sandwich and the meat was tasty, but the bread was damp and fell apart. Very messy. Came with crispy homemade chips.

Everything here is served with a side of awesome sauce. Delicious food, yummy beer and chill environment. Our waitress was attentive without being annoying. The Pastrami sandwich was KILLER. The fried green tomatoes were also great. Everything just looks and tastes delightful. Loved it.

GOOD BEER Selection AMBIENCE, Nice design. The Neighborhood FLIES ( as in black / small flying bug) Like to visit their bar to get drunk . I notice a bunch them in the bathroom. Food: average SERVICE: was terrible. a) We waited for about 40 minutes while they were about 6 empty tables at the dining room the entire time. Personally I don't mind waiting if place if there is no table available. I asked hostess and all she said " yes i guess i can sit you now" b)Main Waiter was slow, inattentive. We asked for an extra plate to the waiter that delivered our food but had to get up to get it my self 10 minutes later.

Food great so far but they are rolling silverware IN the dining room right by our table !! Jingle jangle not conducive. Now come another person with a basket to dry and sort IN the dining room !! Bierrocks rocks. The hot chicken is a gloppy mess. If you get it order it on the side. We ate inside (!) and are swarmed with flies. Put in a fly lock downfraft fan at the door. Now they are having a meeting of all waiters right by my table. We could reach out and touch them. So distracting and rude. And we are hearing all stuff we shouldn't and problems. Pastrami is the way to go for food but they need improvements for sure in other areas.

I didn't know what to expect with this new spot and limited menu but the shrimp and grits are EVERYTHING. And I'm not a superfan of shrimp and grits so that tells you how great they were!!!

Came here for lunch and the food wasn't great. I do recommend the charred okra, that was actually very good. The salads were unimpressive and the red chili pozole could have been a lot better. Do not get the fried green tomato starter. Not worth your money or the calories. Better spent on the beer. Our waiter was new and so service, not so great. I don't recommend this place other than going for a beer, which they do have a good selection.

First visit to Trinity Groves. Very cool idea. I am thinking it will be packed outside once the weather improves. But - onto LUCK. Went at approx 6:30 on a Friday and was able to get a table (most tables were full and there were a few people at the bar). Casual place w/diverse crowd. Love the local beer selection (I was happy to see Four Corners Local Buzz on tap). Server was quick, friendly, and nice. We started w/the pretzels. The pretzels were good (not great). The beer cheese fondue was a good dip. The mustard disappointed me - no flavor (not sure how that can be w/mustard). The pretzels did come out really quickly. Went w/the shrimp and grits and the north tx hot brown for entrees. The food came out really quickly. I hate to say too quickly, but it seemed Mi Cocina quick. The shrimp and grits were really good (grits cheesy and almost chunky but in a good way). Creole sauce added a bit of heat. The sandwich didn't do it for me. The sauce on it was good, but the turkey was almost chewy or something and wasn't thin, more like a cutlet that was just okay. The potato chips looked great but if i had to guess were made that morning. Went for more beer for dessert. They were on a wait when we left. I would go back to try other things on the menu (or get the shrimp & grits for myself).

My family and I ate here because it was the busiest out of all the restaurants in that area. We took that as a sign that it would be good since it was our first time to the Trinity Groves area. The problems started at the front door. The girl who sat us never greeted us or smiled. She sat us, a group of 5 in a tiny corner booth. We moved to a more comfortable table. We waited for 15 minutes just for a server to come greet us and offer us water. When the she came with the water we told her we were ready to order. We tried to ordered the fried green tomatoes but were told they were out of them. The waitress that's been helping us is Hannah. She leaves to put in our order. Its another 15 minutes of waiting for the soft drinks we order. When she brings them, they tasted flat. Then another 10 minutes to flag her down to ask for a different drink. Hannah informs us that someone just changed the coke and we got the last of it so she knew that we were getting a crappy coke. She brings us fresh ones. Meanwhile we are waiting on our food and watching the flies land on the food that's ready to be served. The workers seemed to be use to the flies there. A family member ordered a salad at our table and we watched it sit up there for 20 minutes getting attacked by files never thinking it was our salad. When the rest of the food was brought out the salad that had been sitting up there was brought too. The staff was not welcoming and we felt uncomfortable. We stayed trying to be positive. Our family will never go there again and we will not be recommending Luck as a place to eat. We were very excited to try out the Trinity groves area and from this experience it is such a disappointment.

As I said in my checkin: All the brews I wanted were tapped out. Been here for an hour and am starving!!! Good thing I got the pretzels that were nuked or I'd pass out. 10 minutes from walking out...

We only had beer here but this place has every local draft you could want. Service was awesome and the people were so polite! If you are looking for good local craft beer this is definitely a must.

we ate here near the beginning of summer. the trinity groves area is experiencing a lot of attention and people are coming to experience all the restaurants. our food was very good. the service was good. nothing out of this world, but definitely worth a look, especially if there are a lot of people in the area - it is a good place to people watch.

I have heard from many people that this is a must visit place. We were there Sunday night 7pm for a birthday party (7 guests). It was nice out so the patio was full, but less than half full inside. We were seated at least 10 minutes before our waiter approached our table and took our drink order (I'd have had at least one more beer if he had been on his game). We had the pretzels as appetizers as we waited for a couple of our guests to join us. They were very good. Beer selection is pretty dang good. I had the Rabbit Hole 10/6 and Dark Intentions. We ordered dinner, which seemed to take forever to arrive, and ordered more beer, which also took forever to arrive, so much so that one of our party had to track someone down to find our waiter. Food was ok, but priced at least twice what it is worth (high end of the price range given here on yelp). I don't understand why it wasn't served hot instead of warm as they have someone dedicated to running the food out to the tables. I had the shrimp and grits, it was ok. My wife had a salad with beef that was suppose to be medium rare, that was well done and charred on the outside. Hamburger requested medium rare was well done. After all the hype I expected great things. I won't be back, except maybe for beers only. It is a trendy area, the patio is cool. Parking goes fast, we had to park across the street.

Great restaurant. Carries a large variety of local micro brews. The food amazing. I had the pastrami sandwich with homemade potato chips which was very good but I also has the pozole soup with pork meat and that was it of this world. The staff is very friendly but they do need more staff as it seems they were slow to respond due to the amount of customers.

I had high expectations of this place and was so happy that they were met! We went for Revolver appreciation day during NTX beer week, got $1 off revolver brews and a pint glass to take home. The best part is that all of LUCK's brews are already only $5 all the time, hopefully something that will stick around. We started off with the bierocks which were just as good as the other reviews have already said. I also really enjoyed their Schnitzel. Both went really well with the Revolver Sidewinder. Great local beer, great local food! Can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu!

The shrimp and grits! Holy crap the shrimp and grits were amazing! I've also had the hot brown and chips, which were delish! I don't drink but my husband was impressed with their beer selection and loved the Blood and Honey that the waiter recommended!

Me, my husband and our dog Rhythm ate here last weekend. The food was great! The beer selection was on point! (really appreciated the IPA selection) And the staff was super friendly to us and our dog. :) I will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Confirmed fo sho... I have returned several times and every time is the same if not better than the first. This is a fav spot and has become my go to place to take out of town business guests. Great Texas fare along with their impressive Texas beer selection to match. I can't wait until it warms up to hang out on the patio. Take your growlers because they do growler fills!

Originally from Los Angeles with its renowned restaurants whose pastrami has earned accolades, awards, and my lifelong affections, I was rather perturbed upon relocating to Texas 20 years ago to find lame, cold, embarrassing "deli" pastrami sandwiches. Schlotszkys, Arbys and such. Ew. Totally. I then ventured to the east coast and sampled pastrami there as well. While nowhere near as awful as those blah deli pastrami sandwiches, New York and Chicago pastrami failed to evoke so much as a second thought. I managed to sustain my relationship with L.A. pastrami over the years with biannual trips home, though I longed to find pastrami in Texas so good that the word "sandwich" was really TMI. I stumbled by luck into Luck one day, and my eyes popped at the sight of "pastrami" on the menu. I ordered it eagerly with no expectations of deli foolishness here! The description was unlike any pastrami I'd ever heard of. My tastebuds swooned at the first whiff swirling into my nostrils and then died and went to heaven at the first bite. FINALLY! If I'd ever dared imagine a version of pastrami that could make Texas proud, it would be this! Only in Texas would they come up with a combination of brisket, smoke and pastrami. It's giving my L.A. pastrami a serious run for my #1 spot. But you best believe I will be going home now and bragging about "TEXAS pastrami"!

They take forever to serve your food!! We waited over 30 min for sandwiches!!! And the food wasn't that good . Wings were dry ! Don't order the stuffed sausage balls. The ribs are not seasoned!!! I've been here 3 times and it has always been a bad experience. Only good thing on the menu is the pastrami

We went here for my birthday on a recent trip to Texas. It was such a cool little restaurant. We sat on the patio at a family style picnic table. The food was great. We had fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits. Dessert was a peach cobbler with fresh whip cream.

Very solid from start to finish. Draft selection was good, and the bartender was affable and knowledgeable. It was their first Friday open and they were busy enough to trip up a new restaurant but everything went smoothly. The best dish I tried was the pot road with the pork rib close second. We were able to fit ten of us on the benches on the patio with no problem and the waitress did not grumble about splitting the check. Excited to go back and try its neighbors as well.

I wasn't particularly impressed and neither was my boyfriend. I got some kind of Turkey sandwich and it was too pricey for what I got. But the salad with the candied pecans was excellent.

Go for the 40 beers on tap! 4 beer sampler is $8. The food was just 3-4 stars, good but not great. Also they were out of two beers we ordered. Will have to come back for the brownie with beer ice cream, though.

My partner and I ate at Luck for the first time and absolutely loved it! We were seated quickly on a busy Friday evening, had great service at a moderate price. Our waiter was attentive but not too pushy, he gave me some samples of beer that I might like and then brought it out quickly. The food was out of this world and was served in a moderate sized portion. The decor in the restaurant is great, paintings on the wall all the way around. There is a full bar with 2 large screened tvs and they have about 45 local beer selections. The kitchen ran smoothly, no yelling or loud noises. We sat inside, the tables and chairs were comfortable and I loved the light fixtures, not too bright or dim. This is the kind of place where you can get a great meal and then wash it down with some tasty local beer. The desert was also delicious, we will definitely be dining here on a regular basis!

Great location, excellent local beer selection and everything on the beer menu is only $5! Food is excellent; especially the pork ribs and smoked chicken. The bier rocks were very good as well! Great addition to Trinity Groves.

I couldn't find anything wrong with the place. I had the grilled romaine salad with chicken and it was fantastic. Loved the jalapeno and buttermilk dressing and the flavor of the chicken and grilled romaine was fantastic. If it hadn't been so hot, we would have had lunch outside but service was great and everyone was nice and helpful. This was our first time but I will definitely return. May try it at night when its cooler and experience the outside.

Decent Beer Selection - Disappointed as I wanted to try the Raspberry Temptress from Lakewood. Server said that wouldn't be tapped until the evening. (-1 Star) I accommodated the hostess and slid over a seat at the window counter seats for a party with a stroller. Then 20 minutes later asked to scoot over again for a wheechair patron - WTF, do they not know what to do to handle ADA items? (-1 star). Not to mention the bar was littered with CROSSFIT meat-heads totally blocking any use and then to my demise they were re-seated in my waitress' section. Can we say that my service turned to SHIT! (-1 star) Pricing for a sandwich = $12 buck (-1 star) and 2 beers = $10. I can do better elsewhere. Sandwich was repeatable at any other restaurant (-1 star) Yes, I tipped my waitress but wish I could have withheld as this business SUCKS! I guess the positive was watching the dogs fighting on the Patio. - WTF do patrons have to take their canine(s) out to eat with them. Something isn't right when you see a Great Dane sized dog trounce a Mini-Poodle. Honestly it was FUN to watch! (+1 star) YMMV....

Great atmosphere, staff was nice. Amazing, amazing beer selection- absolutely no crap beer on the menu, and reasonable prices for beer. That's it. The only good things are good enough to keep them from getting a zero. Attempt at kitschy food was an epic fail. Everything was overspiced. Pastrami wayyyyyy too salty (has anyone in the world ever said that??) And I'm an east coast native with a long standing love affair with new york delis. Fish in the fish n chips menu was a poor choice- way too heavy a texture to satisfy the dishes intentions- and the tartar sauce was so spicy I coughed at the first bite- seriously, why so heavy on the spice??? Chips wayyyy oversalted. Overspiced to the point where it interfered with the beer- what??? You made me hate my beer, that has never ever happened. I loved it (velvet hammer) until the food, and actually chose the dish to try and compliment the beer. The cole slaw was amazing, though, and I hate cole slaw.... go figure. The pork rib was wayyyyy oversauced and the sauce was wayyyy heavy handed- too bad because the meat quality was good. The greens had an overpowering liquid smoke taste- nice an interesting at first, but too much in the end. The plate was really unbalanced- the beans were good but there was nowhere near enough in comparison to the plate. The beer ice cream- churned with the delectable Lakewood Temptress- was a super cool idea, but again, way heavy handed. My advice: calm down, boys. You've got a great concept, a great conceptual menu, a great room, and a great location. Stop slamming the world with overdone flavors!!! It's not necessary. Oh yeah, and for the love of god, get a liquor license. Really, really hoping they will grow into themselves, the concept is so good I would be willing to try again in spite of the spicing debacle.

I am over this restaurant. I came here about a week ago for dinner, and I ordered the Pot Roast again. There was hardly any potato hash on my plate. There was quite a bit of fat on my pot roast. That is unacceptable considering this dish is $16. I also ordered the brownie because I was still hungry. I should not be hungry after eating Pot Roast. The brownie was not anything special. Also, I am not a huge fan of the menu choices. On a positive note, the soft pretzels have always been great.

We visited on Friday, 1/10, and I should say I wanted to like the place a lot more than this. Quickly: local beer and lots of it--always a plus. Food they claim is locally sourced. Interesting menu. We had bierocks, which while tasty, my wife likened to glorified Hot Pockets. I had (red)fish and chips, which was good. Just good, not great. However, we got one plank of fish in the order. A telling note about the service in general is that when we asked if there might be a mistake, she laughed and kept walking. Anyway, as a $16 entree, the portion size is way out of whack. Wife had the Hot Brown sandwich. Again, good but not great. An issue with the sandwich was that according to her, the cheese sauce it came with did not taste like it had cheese. Again, it's a good story and an interesting menu--I hope they work out the kinks.

OMP! (Oh my Pastrami). Probably the best pastrami sandwich I've come across, and quite a selection of local flavors to wash it down with. A great stop for a casual evening!

Great place for trying a variety of beers in a nice comfortable setting. Love the focus on local brews and the knowledgable, friendly staff! The beer rocks were good, very good but be careful, they can spoil your appetite! Will definitely be back - can't wait for summer fun on the patio!!!

Came here this afternoon. Wasn't too busy. Got seated. Our waitress brought us water. Then she never returned. We waited about 15 minutes and left. This is the second visit here where the service was rather surreal.

Such a great place to eat and to enjoy local beers. Dallas has so many amazing craft breweries and Luck features a great selection of beers from the area. We were greeted at the door with such enthusiasm that I immediately liked the place before we were even seated. The wait staff was amazing. We were offered specials that are not on the menu. We couldn't decide what beer to drink with dinner, so our waitress made some recommendations and then brought samples to the table so that we could decide what we liked best. I had an open face chicken sandwich with a lovely piece of fresh baked bread topped with in-house made pimento cheese and a quarter of a fried chicken (it still had the bones in, which at first seemed odd, but which I decided halfway through, I loved). The chicken had a sweet barbecue sauce and the plate was graced with in-house made pickles. Needless to say, we will be back, and often.

Enjoyable experience from the perspective of the food and atmosphere, service is the problem. Very very slow.most people don't have time for a 2hr lunch and that's what it takes there. Recommend the bier rocks app and the pastrami sandwich were delish.... Lots of great craft beers.

Was my wife and I dinner night we get to do this about once every three months.we have three children our lives are busy least to say. We eat at deferent restaurants all over Dallas . We love good food . Was excited to try the places over the bridge. Luck was the most packed. Ordered the turkey melt sandwich came out it was cold sent it back. waitress came back in about 8 seconds later with another sandwich. Looked at the sandwich touched it . It was ice cold to the touch. Waitress let me get you another one I passed on it. They bring the bill to the table waitress apologizes . That's it. When she comes back to get the bill no manager stops by nothing. Until I mention it to her. After they charge us then the manager comes by and says he hopes we come back. 40 dollar meal I leave hunger. Want be recommending this place. Dallas needs more over priced restaurants and this is one.

I am not normally so moved by a eating experience were I feel like I have to put in the effort to make a review, but this place was so good that I felt compelled to write about it. I got the house made pastrami sandwich on perfectly crisp bread with caramelized onions. This was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my entire life and even the chips that accompanied the sandwich were delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for a lunch or dinner date!

Great location, great looking restaurant, still has to work out a few kinks. The beer menu is impressive and it really does not get any more local than that...you will be able to get any local, craft beer on tap. The food menu is short and focused. We were there for Sunday brunch. Though there were a few patrons, Trinity Groves is nothing compared to Bishop Arts, as far as the hype. You can easily get a table here! Sadly, the friendly waitress informed us they were out of a whole bunch of menu items... I ordered the pork schnitzel. It was really good, fried well and the sides balanced everything out. It was a bit cold, to be honest, though it was chilly on the patio, so maybe it was that! It is a good place for kids to run around - think Chicken Scratch, but smaller. Pricing is fair. Will definitely be back!

First time and certainly not gonna hurry back! Good beers, but food service is slow and they "killed" a Pastrami Reuben! Couldn't even eat half of it given how over cooked it was. Mgr apologized and offered to make another, but considering it took almost 30 min. to get first one, I passed.

These positive reviews must have been left by employees or Phil's family. Do not go here unless you have 2 hours to waist. Very slow staff/kitchen. And don't order the fish and chips, it's a bunch of fried bread. There is more to a restaurant than beer!

We ended up here by luck ... No pun intended ... And what a great experience we had. The service was very attentive and cordial. We started with a cup of Pozole and boom! The best Pozole I've had north of the border, just make sure you order extra limes. As an entree the waitress suggested the pastrami sandwich and damn was she right! The meat was full of flavour and the bread very moist. And for dessert, you have to try the beer ice cream. These options may not help you with your NY's resolution, but it's ok to cheat here.

So this restaurant was located at Trinity Groves. So there is like more then 10 restaurants around this area. So it was really hard for me and my friend to make a decision among all of them. Therefore, we decided to walk around all the restaurants and look at their menu and choose the one that we like. Well it turns our LUCK was the winner, so we choose to eat at this place. So my friend order the 10 OZ pork chop and I order the Signature pastrami, we also order the Beer rocks as an appetizer. The beer rocks is like a meat buns with french dip and ranch, but surprisingly it was really good, not sure if is because I am really hungry though. I have a bite of my friend's pork chop. It was really good, it have a sweet taste in it makes it a lot better. I think it will put up a good competition in between this pork chop and the pork chop from kenny's wood fire grill. The signature pastrami was also really good, the smoke bbq smell was really good even before I eat, and the brisket was really moist which make the sandwich so good, I think is one of the best pastrami sandwich I have ever had.

Good Texas beer selections. It is about 5 dollars a pint on average which is pretty good. Alot of draft as well as bottles. They also have a patio that is really nice.

Disclaimer: I'm not a beer drinker. We visited Trinity Groves on a sunny Sunday afternoon and chose LUCK because their patio was the busiest of all of the restaurants. We were seated immediately at a shared table along with another couple that was finishing their meal. Immediately we noticed that service was slow. Although the waiter stopped by to acknowledge the table 2 - 3 minutes after we were seated, it took another 5 - 7 minutes before we received water and menus. The slow service continued throughout our dining experience so much so that we had to flag the waiter down in order to pay the tab. We drank nonalcoholic drinks and shared fried green tomatoes, sweet and smokey whole wings and the market fish of the day. The fried green tomatoes were fantastically topped with a bean salsa and we agreed that it was our favorite dish. I'm not a cook but if I had to guess the wings are boiled then dipped in the sauce (versus fried) and neither of us enjoyed them. The market fish (I totally forget what it was) was grilled and prepared nicely, served atop a tomato couscous type salad. It was good combination of light and fresh. Since I'm not a beer drinker I probably won't be visiting LUCK again.

over the past year or so I've had the privilege of getting to know the owners of LUCK. These guys get it. They choose high quality ingredients to to go along with a wide variety of brilliantly brewed local beers (40 beers brewed within 75 miles on tap). I strongly recommend the pastrami sandwich, the burger is on point, steak salad? fuck yes, the point is the grub is elevated and you should expect it to be be tasty as fuck, because it is. Get your ass over to Trinity Groves, Go see my friends at LUCKDallas and have a good time.

Cool atmosphere and great food! The Hot Brown was yummy. Try the Holy Kombucha. Mine was ginger and a very tasty treat!

I've been wanting to try out the restaurants over in the Trinity Grove area as they've been popping up, but the area is growing so quick that I've been having trouble keeping up! A couple of nights ago, I was able to cross LUCK off of my "to-try" list! We had called ahead to make reservations, but upon our arrival we were told that we still had about a 45 minute wait. We were told that they would text or call us when our table was ready, so we went to the bar. As you have read in most of the other reviews, LUCK has an awesome selection of locally brewed beers. Peticolas is one of my favs, so I began to partake. It was a Friday night, so the restaurant was pretty packed, inside and outside on their huge patio. As the 45 minutes passed by, we went back to the hostesses and asked if they had any idea on a estimated time. It turns out that they had been trying to text and call us, but they mis-dialed and were calling the wrong number. Frustrating, but oh well...stuff happens. After that, we were quickly shown to a table outside. The manager and our server were awesome! They immediately apologized and told us that we could have an appetizer on the house. The apology alone was a breath of fresh air, not to mention the free app! It really makes me overlook mishaps and mistakes when places take accountability. The service was excellent! We ordered the pretzels for our app. They were just OK. It seemed as if they had been overcooked. They were harder than I would have liked. The three pretzels came with a beer cheese dip and a side of stone ground mustard. Both of the dips were flavorful and good...but the pretzel was kind of a disappointment. For my entree, I ordered the pan seared market catch of the day. The fish was done very well! The quinoa tabbouleh was a perfect companion for the fish. The salad had a fresh taste..the whole dish was light and perfect for a warm evening out on the patio with a cold beer. We ordered dessert as well...the beer battered apple funnel cake. It was decent, I really liked the scoop of stout ice cream on top a lot better than the actual funnel cake. The beer ice cream had a caramel-coffee like flavor. It was very unique! I definitely recommend the ice cream by itself if you choose a dessert. LUCK was a good choice for the evening. The food was OK, but I think if you want a great patio, an awesome selection of beers, and very good service, you won't go wrong with LUCK.

So good! The pastrami sandwich is great, even with the stone ground mustard on it (not a huge fan of mustard). The chips suffered due to the fact that it is a monsoon month in Dallas right now, but were tasty and mostly crisp. The pickle is extremely tasty. I'm not sure why they use sourdough bread for this sandwich, since at least to me, all the sourdough character disappears when it is toasted. But it was a sturdy bread. Loved the patio! This was our first visit to Trinity Groves, we'll be back for sure!

Come for the local beer selection and don't leave without eating a pastrami sandwich! Like most patrons the craft beer taps drew me in. I will get to that in a moment though. While enjoying my time at the bar with a friend I got to smell the pastrami sandwich of the guy next to me. I overheard the bartender tell him that this is what they are known for and after trying it I have to agree. Even if I wasn't trying to have a pint I would come here for that sandwich alone. SO FRIGGIN GOOD! Piled high with delicious, thick, flavorful meat and accompanied with chips. We also got the warm, soft pretzel twists that come with two dipping sauces and enjoyed those as well. As for the beer selection..40 taps of rotating craft beers that are all products of breweries within 75 miles. Kevin was running the show behind the bar and was knowledgable, polite, helpful and entertaining. I am a hop lover and wanted to try beers that I haven't ever had and Kevin was honest in his suggestions/opinions. He described the beers in great detail and offered new suggestions related to what I told him I liked. I think I found a new "go to" and I did not taste a beer I didn't enjoy thanks to his help. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed by my entire experience. The place was pretty busy for a Monday evening and I cannot wait to come check out the patio when the weather permits. Thanks for a wonderful evening, LUCK!

Great selection of craft beers. Only have two wines, a Chardonnay and a red blend. I had the turkey open face sandwich and really wasn't impressed. The turkey didn't have a lot of flavor. My husband had the burger and it was decent but not worth $14. We ordered a beer and glass of wine and the server must have forgot because they finally got delivered to our table after our food had arrived. I'm a server myself and I would have done that to a table I would have definitely bought their drinks. I know he was busy but you've gotta cater to the customer. We probably won't be back unless it's a get a beer.

Delicious lunch menu wide variety of local craft beers, 40 on tap!!! Not a spot for late night and that's unfortunate because this place would really pop!! I will be back for another smoked brisket sandwich!!!!

Fantastic place. Only serves local craft beer. Small but good interesting menu choices made with craft beer as a flavor...wow.The staff were super friendly and the selection of beers was fantastic. What more you want if you are surfing something unique and interesting. Looks and feels like a very good street corner local place. If you are into interesting different craft beers made in Dallas this is the place to go. Barmen are really helpful and happy to give you some tastings and help you select your beer. If you like tasty beer be sure to visit! Beer battered fennel cake and ice cream made with beer give you a happy ending. Have fun local beer lovers.

This is not a knock on the food because we didn't have any. My wife and I just wanted to visit the Trinity Grove to drink a few beers at a place that we knew fit our style. Luck is a really awesome place but there is one problem and that problem was our waiter, Alvin. We didn't order any food but we did order beer, so it's not like we're just taking up space. Well since we didn't want to eat Alvin felt like he didn't have to wait on us any longer. So he ignored us. Excuse my language but that's pretty shitty, I'm a paying customer so treat me with the same service as your other tables! I felt very unwelcome at a place I thought was perfect for me. Update: After posting the review I spoke with the manager Suzy and she covered our tab and apologized. We loved the atmosphere and Suzy was very kind.

Sunday Dinner with my Gator Family - LUCK is on our agenda! Unfortunately, they seemed to be out of many of the items we wanted, but not me, I wanted a burger - hard to run out of burgers! It was great. Slightly under my requested temperature, but not too bad. Well seasoned, and those home made pickles were delicious! They came with homemade chips, but I traded for chipotle potato salad - that was awesome too! Could have had a teensy bit more spice to it, but otherwise, very flavorful. For dessert, I think we about ordered everything - lemon pound cake - YUM. Brownie - YUM (super rich tho). Apple funnel cake - SUPER YUM! And the beer ice cream. Not quite sure what to think of it, tasted more like toffee coffee ice cream maybe. I enjoyed all of it and will totally be back!

The Bierocks were great. I had the turkey sandwich which was good, kind of dry but the cheese fondu made up for it. The beer is good, but likely ones you've never heard. My wife loved the funnel cake! I would come back if in the neighborhood. Probably would not go out of my way to come back.

I want to give this place 3.5stars but my phone won't let me! Pros: the obvious ~the beer selection!oh my the blood & honey was delish! ,the location, the large outdoor seating and easy to park as well Food was a hit or miss. Pastrami sandwich & the wings were very good. The burger and other stuff I had were just ok. Wont go back for food alone but WILL go back for the overall experience of hanging out in trinity grove with friends and good beer. I wish I can remember the server's name but I don't and she could be friendlier. She wasn't bad but wasn't that nice either. Overall, I had a decent time.

Was recommended by a friend a while back and finally made it in. Brought a dear friend of mine who is a drummer for a pretty famous female singer/songwriter bc of the rave review. Started with the fried green tomato appetizer. They were served on top of a bean relish with a spicy remoulade. The beans and the remoulade were definitely the highlight. The tomatoes were sliced very thin resulting in more breading than tomato. The breading reminded me of a frozen yellow squash in a box type breading. My friend ordered the burger and I ordered the grilled romaine with shrimp he said the burger was just ok. My salad was pretty good. The shrimp were not overcooked and the homemade dressing was nice, not too much. Unfortunately, our waiter was lackluster at best. Drinks constantly needing to be refilled and not done until empty. The tea was put in a glass with little to no ice and no offer to bring any extra. I would consider him in attentive at best. Maybe it was based on the time of day that we got there which was just before 2 p.m., but I really expected more. Love the area.

This place is a must go to. The beer selection is amazing(do a flight first) to pick you favorite, or just do flights to try them all. The apps you can't go wrong on. Pastrami,OMG, marinated for 3days,smoked for 15hrs the best ever. The smoked meatloaf never had anything like it before. This is way up on my top 10 list #2 to be exact #1 is a sentimental place. But it's really close. Will definitely be back for sure. Thank you Sean Lee for all the suggestions.

I wish I had a better dining experience here. The smoked meatloaf was very heavily recommended by the staff so felt it might be fun to try. At 20.00, it did not live up to the hype. It was okay but definitely not worth the 20 dollars. Cider was 8 dollars. Most of the entrees were overpriced for what they were serving. I will try again in hopes maybe my visit was just an off night. Service was good and the place was very busy so hopefully just a fluke!

This place was very very good! I took 25 of my friends here for my birthday dinner, and we all had a great time! The atmosphere was awesome, the service was friendly and fantastic, and the food was excellent! Most of my friends and I had the Signature Pastrami Sandwich, and let me just say, it was probably the best Pastrami sandwich that I have ever had!! Wow! The meat on the sandwich was more like brisket, considering that they slow smoke it so long. I highly recommend this dish if they continue serving it.

LUCK - Local Urban Craft Kitchen is an American restaurant in Trinity Groves. They're known for using locally sourced ingredient in addition to having a large number of craft beers on tap. My Overall Rating - 2 Stars (Atmosphere, Food) Atmosphere - I love the atmosphere of all the Trinity Groves restaurant, but LUCK is even better. On nice days, their doors are open and they take advantage of the outdoor patio. It's brings the outdoors in and gives a nice, outdoor feel. It's a great atmosphere, and there's a nice sized bar with the aforementioned craft beers on tap. You'll find a few TVs and well placed art as well. Great stuff here. 1 Star. Service - I'll start with saying our server was very nice and took care of our requests as well as she could. The problem is that LUCK seems to be grossly under staffed. Our poor server had to take care of our large party (split into 3 groups), plus some additional tables. The result was everything was slow. It took a while to get drinks, took a long time to place orders, and took equally as long to get our food. We were there from about 1:30 to 3:45, not because we took our time, but because everything took so long. I hope LUCK hires more serves and cooks. No Stars. Food - I love to review menus before I eat somewhere new, and LUCK's menu is right in my wheel house. The good news is the bierbock appetizers were great. The bread was warm, soft, fresh and biting into it unleashed the tasty meat. Add some beer cheese fondue for dipping and you're off to a great start. The Fire and Smoke wings were also good, with a great smoky flavor and a citrus like glaze. Unfortunately, our start was the only good part. The balsamic fig & fresh mozzarella salad should be renamed as acid arugula. There was way too much balsamic vinegar and arugula, and only 4 cuts of mozzarella in the corners. The vinegar drowned out all flavors and I couldn't finish the dish. The Hot Brown had potential, but I think it sat under the heat lamp a little too long. By the time it came out, the turkey was extremely dried out, the toast took on the texture of bread that had been sitting out, and the dish itself was too uneven to be eaten. If it wasn't for the appetizers, I would have had to head to Hoffman Hots to finish my meal. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Not with so many Trinity Groves options. When I read the menu, I thought it was a can't miss restaurant. But slow service impacted the quality of our meal. There are so many options in this area that I was so disappointed. The only way I would return is if I have tried the rest of the Trinity Groves restaurants and LUCK gets more staff. They have the potential to be a great place, but right now I'll pass on a return. No Stars. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

I can't get myself to order anything other than the grilled romaine salad with the roasted jalapeño ranch dressing . It is up there amongst my favorite salads . I've gotten it with the tuna and the chicken , the chicken option is more filling but I think I enjoy the tuna more . The combination of flavors and ingredients work really great together and I love the flavor of the grilled romaine lettuce . The pickled onions add a really great kick of flavor and the roasted pumpkin seeds are a great little crunch . I've also tried their homemade potato chips and thought they were really great ! Also the outdoor patio is a wonderful area to sit on a beautiful day !

LOL. Disclaimer - This review is for the bar area only! Imagine that. More 3.5 stars than 3. I'm not sure, but I think this is the only place that serves local North Texas beers only, I could be wrong. Which is a good thing I think. I didn't really realize there was this much local beer on the market. 40+. And if you like beer, which I do, then getting to sit down and try your fill of 40+ beers is a lot of fun, especially when there from the local area. The bartenders have been very knowledgeable about the different beers on tap and there origins. They're a nice group and fun to talk with. There's a respectable selection of the different types of beer, from Stouts to Lagers and everything in between. I think every type of beer is accounted for on the selection board. The bar space is ample with plenty of room to sit outside, which I'm looking forward too as the weather warms up. Just a note, from the number of people in the dining area, the appearances, and aromas of the food coming from the kitchen, I'll have to make some time to have a meal here soon.

I'm not sure what took me so long to go to trinity grove, but so glad we finally did! Luck was great - good service, good food and great atmosphere. We had the ribs and shrimp & grits. Ribs were good, but probably wouldn't get the ribs again. They were good, not great. Our group split these appetizers: pretzel, Bierocks, and fried green tomatoes. Definitely try the Bierocks - very good! All in all, we loved it. Can't wait to try other places!

The steak salad was absolutely amazing. Totally hit the spot and didn't leave feeling guilty about joining the CPC (clean plate club) that afternoon. The steak was more medium rare than medium (I ordered medium) but I was hungry so I didn't mind. The salad was a bed of fresh greens topped with mango relish, cherry tomatoes, and radish, served with chimichurri aioli. We knew we were destined to eat at Luck when my friend said she wanted pastrami and it magically appeared on the menu. It was destiny. The pastrami was delicious and served on sourdough with Swiss and caramel used onions. Epic meal if you're starving. Beware of getting driving directions on google. It will send you to a random industrial driveway across the street. But once you get there trinity groves and all of it's restaurants are nice little oasis in a revitalized Dallas neighborhood.

I went to Trinity Groves for the first time this week (I was completely unaware just how close it is to downtown), and it was delicious. My dad and I wanted to check out the area on a Tuesday night, with no certain restaurant in mind. We started by reading the menus on the doors, and thought LUCK looked promising. We were right! To start off, they have a live musician who plays on slower nights and she was really great. I would listen to her renditions of famous songs any day of the week. Next up, we asked the waitress what she recommend and then proceeded to just order from that list. The blueberry salad with pecans was delicious and easily big enough for 2 or 3 to share as an appetizer. Followed by the rueben and the shrimp and grits. It was all really great, and coming from someone who does not usually eat grits, I was really impressed. They had a ton of flavor! The vibe was relaxing, the staff was great and the food was really delicious. All in all I would recommend it and would go back again. (Also coming from a non beer drinker- so if you like beer I'm sure there is an entire other reason to love it)!

This was my first venture to Trinity Groves and I will definitely be back to sample the other restaurants. The bridge doesn't go to nowhere, it goes here! The beer selection is phenomenal and well-priced. I ordered the Neighborhood flight and sampled four local brews for $5! My table ordered the pretzel as an appetizer and it was... adequate? as a pretzel. Goes well with the beer at least. The salads seemed like the best bet on the menu. One of my friends ordered the one with squash and she seemed pleased. Another friend ordered the "ribs" and they are not your traditional ribs (no bones?), she was not impressed. I ended up not ordering an entree because nothing spoke to me. I just don't think the menu is very impressive and no one in my party who ordered food was blown away. Again, just adequate. I tried the lemon pound cake and while the portion was very large (two pieces!), it was dry and not very flavorful. Sigh. I'll definitely be back to try more of the beer flights, but I won't necessarily be recommending LUCK's kitchen. YET. I want to try the shrimp and grits, and definitely want to support a business that is all about the LOCAL.

I blame this place for filling up my first Growler and then allowing me to consume it all. First hangover in a long time. four stars.

  • Ian M.

Recently, I heard that LUCK is the newest growler station. I was excited because this is now the closest filler station to me. My excitement was tempered however, when I went and found out that for my 64 oz growler (ya baby!), I would have to pay $15-20 (not including tax). Those prices are comparable to Whole Foods, but about double that of Craft & Growler. So while their beer selection is still one of the best, the hefty price won't have me coming here to fill up my growler on a regular basis.

My husband loves the craft beer and the shrimp and grits so we went to LUCK for his birthday dinner. I am not as impressed as he seems to be. Food: Limited choices that seem to have no theme. I wish there were some healthier options. I ordered the pastrami sandwich. The sandwich was flavorful, but it was by FAR the greasiest thing I have ever eaten. No exaggeration. It was so greasy that I could not get the grease off my hands until late the next day. Atmosphere: Trendy withe plenty of outdoor sitting. I really dislike the park style picnic tables that you share with other diners. They are so uncomfortable and I was sat smack dab next to a strange man that we had to alternate bites because our elbows kept bumping. With no back support and sitting on the edge to give the man next to me room, I was counting down the minutes until I could get up from the bench seat. Overall: The food is tasty, but nothing special. The sitting is uncomfortable and they shove as many customers on one table as possible.

Enjoyable environment in Trinity Groves which makes the food experience good. Wait times due to popularity are a bit long, but we waited The food was good and the streak salad was pretty good. The fried green tomatoes were impressive and the pretzels were also tasty. The pastrami sandwich done in a Texas brisket style was a pleasant surprise , I only had a small taste but it was flavorful. Last but not least the growler option for craft beers will have beer lovers salivating, it did me!

This place has potential. We walked in and there were maybe 3 tables of people. Two of us and the hostess took us to possibly the worst table in the room. There were several two tops available. This one was next to the bathrooms. We asked to sit somewhere else and she was fine with it. We ordered the pretzel appetizer and it came with mustard and beer cheese dip. The pretzels were warm and delicious, especially the beer cheese dip. For brunch (lunch?) we had the pork schnitzel and the pozole. The pozole was outstanding. Excellent flavor from meat in it. I thought it tasted like chili when I took a bite. My dish, the schnitzel, was just ok. Couldn't really taste the meat and overall there wasn't much flavor to it. The sides that came with it were very good. Braised cabbage and spaetzle. If you like beer, you should like this place. I'm not a beer drinker, and I really wanted mimosas with my brunch. Besides the many different kinds of beer, they had one red and one white wine, which tasted fine. The prices were a bit on the high side. Love the area and can't wait to try more of the restaurants. I should also mention that our server was excellent and helpful.

I'll be honest. The service deserves 5 stars but the food left me less than impressed. Their menu is impressive though, and I'm always down to support an eatery that supports the local farmers and craft beer makers - so I would definitely come back, without hesitation. We arrived for a party of 6 on a Friday night so naturally we had about an hour long wait. I asked the friendly bartender for recommendations and he poured me a nice light beer that tasted great. I believe it was called Local Buzz. Beers are reasonably priced and they have quite a wide selection. Parking lot was full, but go ahead and park across the street. Cops are outside stopping cars to make sure everyone crosses safely. We get our table and sit down. The waiter was friendly but a bit slow due to the large amount of people there. It wasn't a problem, we knew we weren't being ignored on purpose and he came by as often as he could to check in on us. Food! marinated chicken wings - 4/5. Very tasty and very meaty wings that my husband and I shared. He thought it wasn't flavorful enough, but I thought it was perfect. Would definitely recommend. pot roast - 2/5. So honestly I wasn't too impressed. The beef was soft and tender but not very flavorful. The gravy was scarce and tasteless, and it didn't add to the pot roast taste. The best part of the dish was the caramelized onions it came on. fried pork chop dish (I can't remember the name and the menu isn't loading on my computer) - 3/5. My husband had this and it was kind of sweet, which distracted from the fried pork chop taste of the dish. The rice was fluffy. Their menu changes often. I would go back and try other dishes. The price wasn't bad at all.

Get the signature Pastrami sandwich!! Also, the Pasole! Very casual setting with in&out seating. I'm a wino, but my hubby really enjoyed the craft beers. This will be a regular place for us, and apparently for many others as well. Well priced and plenty of seating where everyone is friendly. See you there:)

My boyfriend and I came for our first time on a busy Saturday night and for that, our service was incredibly slow. Our waiter apologized for taking so long to take our order, and every visit following that, maybe they were short staffed but even with taking our time drinking and chatting, we'd start looking around for our no where to be found waiter. I've noticed the sweet and smokey wings along with the signature pastrami are two of the more popular food items so that's what we ordered, frankly I were disappointed with both, they weren't bad but nothing thats worth raving over or even waiting for. Extensive selection of beer and a spacious outdoor patio with live DJ on weekends but food is mediocre at best and service was disappointing.

3.5 stars because the location is pretty killer (The Trinity Groves area right next to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and the awesome view of the Dallas skyline!), plus I'm sure the outside patio is a great thing to have when it's not too hot or cold outside. Specifically commenting on the food: SHRIMP AND GRITS~ pretty good actually. This is a dish that a lot of other yelpers have complimented, and for good reason. This isn't your run-of-the-mill grits that you need to add stuff to it to give it flavor, it's tasty on its own. Plus the shrimp are plump and good quality. The creole sauce drizzled on top of the dish really ties together the whole thing and gives it that sort of peppery but not too spicy kick to the dish. PASTRAMI SANDWICH~ not a fan. it's cool that they aged and cured their own pastrami; however, it still tasted too much like brisket with pastrami flavor, rather than pastrami pastrami. I'm no expert when it comes to aging and curing meats, but me thinks it could've used more pickling spices and maybe allowed to cure longer. There just wasn't that sort of spicy kick that I like in pastrami. The thing about LUCK and restaurants like LUCK is that the dining scene in DFW (especially Dallas) is getting better and better by the day, so it seems; therefore, simply being okay won't cut it. I get what they're trying to do and present~ quintessential American food in a laid back yet trendy atmosphere (and props to them for setting up shop at such a locale), but it's not good enough to stand out. That said, I don't hate the food by any means. It's just that with many similar places in DFW to spend my money at, LUCK gets lost in the crowd.

We've been to Luck twice now. The first time was before an event and we threw down a few delicious craft beers recommended to us by the bartender. He understood our tastes and made delicious and spot-on recommendations. Our second visit was on a Saturday afternoon and we were looking forward to trying their food but we could not get service. The hostess sat us on the patio which wasn't crowded and we watched as the server attended everyone around us while ignoring us completely. I tried to get his attention and he gave me the "wait a minute finger". A few minutes later he took the orders of people who had just sat down near us and he waved me off when I politely summoned him. I mean we couldn't even get a beer which would have made waiting to order food a little more tolerable. After waiting a little over 15 minutes for him to acknowledge our existence, we left and went to a restaurant further down. The craft beer selection is really good, but there are too many comparable places around to put up with such negligent service.

I want so much to rate this place higher, but everything seems overly salty and a bit overpriced to me. The spring menu should have fresh, non fried or non greasy food options, but it's a heavy menu for being spring seasonal. Beer selection: one of the best for a restaurant and "non-beer bar." Bierocks: delicious but overly salty and overpriced at $3.33 per mini meat-stuffed bread. Pastrami sandwich: super tender, tasty with a good hit of stone ground mustard. Again, overly salty but great flavor! Red velvet hammer cake: the best part was the icing. It made up for the super dry overbaked cake. Service: kind of sucked on the patio today. Server was friendly but couldn't handle the number of tables he had, so we had to flag him down even to order! He forgot about us constantly, and eventually I grabbed the water pitcher myself to prevent my dehydrated self and my date from dying of thirst [from the overly salted everything]. Great atmosphere but a limited occasion place for me.

Love everything about Trinity Groves and was excited the Luck made the D Magazine burger list. That gave me a reason to go there and look at the live camel and get cake after dinner. Luck was busy but they had a table ready. Started with an appetizer--Bierrocks. Those are little puffs of pretzel bread stuffed with meat and served with beer cheese dip. They are perfect. In hind site I wish we'd gotten a beer and said "keep these bad boys comin'" for the rest of the night. Split the burger--one thing is that it comes with chips, so add a little more cheese dip. These days lots of the $10+ burgers only come with a napkin on the side, which is ridiculous. We added bacon and swiss to the burger, and asked it be cooked medium rare. The burger was good. It would have been better if they'd added a little seasoning before it hit the grill. The ambient noise is really loud. Service is not up to par. And there really are more tables in the room than comfortably fit. I was bumped repeatedly throughout dinner. I'm going to give it another try before I lower the stars based on service. The manager swooped in and tried to make it right--possibly because I looked like I was getting ready to open my can of whoop ass on the poor old waiter.

Went here on a Saturday evening. We had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table. Fried green tomatoes and pastrami sandwich were delish! Service was fantastic. This place is great! Just wish there was a full bar.

I came here a couple of times within the last few weeks, and the first time was pleasant, the second time not so much. I really like the Trinity Groves area--there's usually plenty of parking, cool eclectic restaurants, and large shaded patios. The first time, I came with a pretty large party, and we all wanted to eat dinner here. We managed to get a table (picnic table style) on the patio. It was one of those random Texas stormy nights, so it started pouring pretty soon after we sat down. It was awesome that their patio was completely covered (it was like a tent with plastic walls so that the rain couldn't hit you if you were sitting on the edge). However, the rain soon proved to be too much for the covering to handle, and water started dripping down on all the tables. Oh well, what are you gonna do? I ordered a strawberry cider and the shrimp & grits. We also got some chicken wings and pretzels for the table. The cider was good (it's my favorite from Bishop Arts Cider Co.!), the chicken wings were amaaaazing, and the shrimp and grits was spicy, hearty, and delicious. The servers were attentive, and I had a good time. The second time, I came again with a pretty large group, but just for some drinks. It was a super hot day, so I'm glad there was plenty of shade and fans on the patio. The service started out good, but very quickly declined over the next couple of hours. Also, they had apparently run out of almost half the beers on their menu, which was just sad. Someone at the table ordered pretzels, and they came out as burnt lumps, so they had to ask for new ones. We had a couple of people trickle in later, and our server went on a rant about how it was difficult to keep track of orders when we shifted one seat down. Sorry, but that's your job? Anyway, overall disappointment. I'd originally had a pretty good impression of the place, but it seems like they're pretty inconsistent. At least they have good food!

Now I think this place is solid, but I wasn't overly impressed. One of the issues was my expectations were not met due to the fact they're getting hardcore popular...it was the only restaurant with a wait in the Trinity Groves area on a Saturday early evening. I think it is really hard to keep the service on point when you are that busy. But that is NEVER an excuse. I was pretty turned off by our server's response time and how it all felt rushed. Can I enjoy and let the food marinate a bit? The food was great, pretty straight to the point gastropub menu....great list of local craft beers.... a good mix. Met a friend out here and we shared an order of fried green tomatoes which were delicious and we also shared the pastrami which was out of this world....tender...flavorful.... and savory. Yes the place is decent, but I think there are other places in the surging Trinity Groves area that deserve a try and I'll let you know.

Great new addition to Trinity Groves! We hosted our group Secret Santa here on Monday night and had a great experience! Comfortable atmosphere, amazing service, great beer selection (and the white and red wine selections were actually quite good too) and the food was incredible. We tried several orders of the pretzels, tuna ceviche, spicy shrimp and the bier rocks - all were tasty! We also had the apple fritters and the brownies for dessert...so deliciously good! You definitely want to check this place out. Everything about it is great!

You will be Lucky to find this place. It is worth a quick inexpensive Uber ride from downtown Dallas just for the food and great craft beer lineup. You can also visit nearby 4 Corners Brewing for some more craft beer tastes. They also have a great large patio for sitting and drinking on cool summer nights. The main attraction here is the Pastrami sandwich. NOTE: This is not your ordinary NY deli type sandwich, but it is served hot and tender and so much better than you could imagine. Makes a great pairing with many of the rotating craft beer offerings. The staff are also super friendly. I came back here another time for a 4 course Beer and Wine Dinner and it was great. The food and drink pairings were excellent, and the staff were great. If you ever get the chance to do one of these special dinners, jump to it.

Big fan of Trinity Grove area from my experience. Absolutely gorgeous view outside overlooking the arching bridge, with a beautiful red covering that provides a nice shade during the hot summer days, which perfectly complements your meal. LUCK is one of the many unique/quirky restaurants along street. It offers some real yummy sandwiches/burgers and refreshing salads. I ordered the fan favorite Pastrami Sandwich, and it did not fail its reputation. It's a deliciously dense brisket sandwich that leaves you feeling full and satisfied. The brisket is well done and has a perfect balance of lean and fatty meat, so you don't feel sick after finishing your meal. Portion size is decent, as I became relatively full after just half of my sandwich and chips. I would also recommend the bierocks, which are these wonderful pork (?) packed buns. It has a well crusted outer layer and a nice juicy sauce that comes with the dish (although I found the meal just perfect without the sauce). Other dishes that are worth trying include the blueberry salad and the Burger, which satisfied my friends immensely :) Definitely will come back here and experience other restaurants along the street!

My hot date & I decided to grab a late lunch over on Trinity Grooves... and the restaurant that stood out for our first visit was Luck. This place definitely blew us away with there burgers and beers! I wish I could give it 5 stars but I was so stuffed and full, I didn't have enough energy to put it down (food coma... sleep... need sleep)! Vinny, our server, gave us great choices on refreshments (beer! add in Texas accent). We went with the Temptress & June Bug... after those drinks, we were was up and ready to party at 3:45pm! By the way, check out the great works of art all inside that joint!... some good pieces that I might think about purchasing on my next visit.

This was my first visit to Trinity Grove. I'd always heard a lot about it but it's quite far from where I line in far north Dallas. Trinity grove itself has something for everyone. I mean, if you can't find something that knocks your socks off there then you have some real issues. They had so many beers on tap I wasn't sure where my husband would start. He ended up with a dark beer sampler. I chose the Kombucha they had on tap. It was a blood orange and it was really great. Three of us had the brisket Pastrami and I wish I could say I was one of those three. It was outstanding. I honestly can not remember what I ordered. Not only does that tell me my husband's sandwich was awesome, but it tells me that whatever I had, was less than memorable. Will we go back? YES

Been wanting to try LUCK in the Trinity Grove area for some time now. The restaurant sits with several other food establishments on this deck with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is fairly decent and we didn't have any issues. My friend and I were seated on the inside because the day was kind of muggy. We started with appetizers. I ordered the hand twisted soft pretzels and my friend selected the Bierocks (Beer-Rocks). I wasn't too impressed with pretzels. It had that rubbery texture where you feel like you're fighting with your food. The beer cheese fondue was okay but nothing special. The Bierocks is basically a meat and cheese mini hot pocket that you dip. I will say the meat filling was flavorful and tasty. On to the entrees, I ordered the Signature Pastrami and that was the best decision. It's smoked liked a brisket and has so much flavor. The meat was so tender and juicy. At some point, I stopped eating the bread and focused on the meat only. That's how good it is. The sandwich also comes with house fried potatoes. My friend did me a favor and ordered the shrimp and grits which is a favorite meal of mine. I will say that it was very tasty and the fried egg was an added plus. He dove into his food before I could even get a picture. LOL! Oh I almost forgot they have a lot of local beers to choose from. My friend selected the Four Corners and was pretty impressed. Even purchased a growler. Overall, it's a pretty nice restaurant. Would I go back? Yes. There are some menu options I was eyeing. Plus, it's in a laid back area of town. That's good for chilling on a nice day.

This Trinity Groves area is popping...and I was so late to the party! LOL! My first visit to the area and LUCK was with my Yelp-Boo Roni B. Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon and my first thought was 'this is a parking nightmare!' We encountered a Valet attendant coming through and putting cones down on empty spots to reserve them for Valet - but we couldn't figure out just where Valet was. This isn't a knock for LUCK as they have no control over parking or valet, just a warning, parking can be a pain for this area. The inside area of the restaurant is pretty small & simple so we opted (Roni was coerced) to sit outside where there's ample patio table seating and room to people-watch. :-) After perusing the menu - I think there are more beer options than food options on the menu (lol), I ordered the wings and chips - and I must say, you HAVE to try their wings! They are the BOMB! They're on the appetizer menu but they were big enough and good enough to fill me to where I didn't need a meal after that. They were covered in sweet and spicy goodness! I definitely want to take the hubby there so he can try the wings and so I can try the beer-knots - those looked YUMMY!

We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, so the place was packed. Because the weather was not overbearingly hot, we opted to sit outside and people watch. We ordered the brussel sprout appetizer to share, which I thought was pretty good although I am not a huge fan of brussel sprouts. My friend got their Signature Pastrami Sandwich, and I got the Bierocks. They were both tasty, but I enjoyed her dish more than mine. The potato chips that came with the pastrami sandwich were also awesome. I could just eat those by themselves! Service was ok, which was understandable, as they were pretty busy. I love how the Trinity Groves area has boomed. I will be going back to that area soon.

First and last visit. The staff is nice. My waiter was attentive, the outside seating was spacious and clean. It was a peaceful atmosphere too. Nothing is going to be better than one of the most important things in life like your taste buds. Everything was off. The food was way too salty... Including the chips and the meats. I don't blame a thing on my waiter because he can only serve what they are cooking. But, he did it with a smile, and I appreciate that. This has to be one of my most least favorite restaurants I have visited in the world . #Luck

Came here not planned, it was pouring rain and boyfriend wanted a drink and watch the Mavericks game. Walked in very busy outside and inside. Got seated quickly. Menu was very interesting, a lot of their foods has some brew in it. Came here for drinks and dessert. I ordered the creme brûlée which contained a coconut brew, I was disappointed by the size of the creme brûlée but the taste definitely made up for it. Noticed how relax and chill this place was. Servers didn't have a specific uniform, everyone seem to be comfortable in their own clothes... Which is pretty cool, I feel servers are most comfortable in their own style. I'm not a beer drinker, my boyfriend is and he loved the beer menu. Lots of local and Texas beers. He is always up to try new beers, which made the beer flight come in handy. I'd love to come back and try their food, I'm glad I came here accidentally.

My first time experience at luck was a grand slam! Our male server accommodated us in every way possible! His name slips off my tongue but let's just say he was a feast for the eyes! The beer ice cream was to die for! I will definitely be back for some ice cream and great service from that quirky yet articulate young man! Cheers.

I purchased a $10 bowl of pozole on a cold Sunday afternoon, To-Go, only to find just the bowl and a napkin in the bag. I returned to the bar to ask for utensils, only for them to inform me that they didn't have any available. How am I to enjoy this dish without proper utensils? Usually with this kind of dish, you are given crackers or bread of some sort. That, too, was lacking.

I've heard a lot about LUCK and have been meaning to go there but just never managed it until now. I think there are many plusses to this restaurant, but there are a few minuses as well. On the plus side, the location in Trinity Groves is a blessing. With generally accessible parking, the ease of getting these and a variety of places to visit nearby, the locale is favorable. The selection of local beer is very impressive. While I am not a craft brew aficionado, I can certainly see that it will appeal to the Beerocrats out there. There are some innovative items on the menu. The charred okra and Beer Rock appetizers were both different and pretty good. But, I also had some disappointments with my visit. I wanted to try the pastrami sandwich, but they were out. I had the North Texas Hot Brown. It sounded great on the menu: thick cut bacon, smoked turkey breast, grilled tomatoes a beer/cheese sauce. Sadly, it just didn't measure up. The bacon had little flavor, the turkey even less, and the beer/cheese sauce was undetectable. It just didn't have all that much going for it. It came with chips (which were quite good) and a pickle spear. Service was timely...nothing bad or good about it. The prices were about standard for where you are and the style of the place. They don't have diet soft drinks, and that's ridiculous. One other thing, and I almost hate to mention it, because I can't imagine it is a "regular" problem (at least I hope it isn't). I don't know if somebody left a door open or something, but I have never seen so many flies in my life. I get that it has been a wet spring and thus things are probably more "buggy" than normal...but flies were ALL OVER THE DAMNED PLACE!!! They were buzzing all around us...on our food, around our heads, on our drinks. Everybody in the restaurant was waving at their plates trying to keep the flies off. It looked like one of those sad film clips you see of poor little starving kids in Ethiopia, with flies all over them. They should issue everyone a swatter as they come in. It really took away from the experience. My visit was not quite what I anticipated. With all the great things I've heard about LUCK, I expected better.

Went here for lunch and must say I had one of the best burgers I have had in awhile. The atmosphere here is very laid back and the empressive list of beer (i am not a beer drinker) is nothing to scoff at. I plan on coming back here, as to try everything on the menu!

Came for lunch with my hubby, a lil midday date. The food was great! We had the "beer balls" to start. And yup paired wonderfully with the beer suggested by the bartender. We sat at the bar to take closer looks at the 40 beers on tap. He had the lengua and loved it! My hubbs if from Mexico so he knows his stuff. It wasn't greasy or typical. It had a good lil zing to it. I had a chicken something and it was amazing! The ambience is cool laid back and the bartender did really well with his descriptions. All of the beers he suggested we loved. I definitely wanna go back to see how the evening go.

The best experience of the night was the pretzels, though they have a pretty good beer list as well. The rest of the food was less impressive. The "PB & JELLUMBO SHRIMP BAHN BOY" should have been a tasty spin on a traditional banh mi, the key to which is a really great french baguette. This was a crusty mess that disintegrated all over my plate. Her "GRILLED ROMAINE & ROASTED JALAPENO SALAD" add seared tuna must have been forgotten on the grill. There were black, ashy bits everywhere, and it made the salad taste like burnt paper. The tuna, which should have been medium rare, was dry and nearly cooked through. Another shining beacon of culinary excellence in Dallas! At least the server was friendly.

Out of all the Trinity Groves restaurants luck is by far the best. I have been to all of the restaurants there and luck has the most bang for the buck. They have a great selection on their menu but they recently shorten it which was short enough to begin with. I have nearly tried everything on the menu and I have to say the shrimp and grits are my favorite. But you have to get the beer rocks to begin with. They are to die for. Those thing could be a meal on their own. I'm a big beer fanatic and this place sure doesn't disappoint with their beer selection. I can't remember how many they have on tab but believe me it's a lot. Defiantly a place to check out. If they had more selections on the menu I would have given it five stars.

Really enjoyed my visit to LUCK. I felt like I had warped to Austin and maybe that's biased of me but it had a nice vibe to it. The patio seating is pretty perfect, seems like it would be amazing in the next few months. The menu itself is pretty diverse but to the point. It's all about local beers and great selections at the, Community and Peticolas Velvet Hammer to name a few of what I got to try. The burger outshines every dish I sampled, they executed it very well. The torta de lengua was good, didn't knock my socks off but good for what it was. The ribs were excellent, must try! Whether you're looking for a quick meal or a chill place to grab some good beer, I think LUCK is a spot that should be in everyones rotations.

Can't say enough good stuff about this place. I had even commented on their FB to see if they were dog friendly- and they quickly replied "yes" The patio was amazing. Food = pastrami sandwich best id ever had The staff all played with our dog, brought our dog water and one of the owners came out to acknowledge my dog and FB post

Had the Signature Pastrami and a beer. My sandwich was flavorful but a bit dry. Others at my table ordered ribs and they complained about them being cold and chewy. The service was slow as well. We all expected more and left underwhelmed.

We came around 7pm so we got to see it get dark--and let me tell you, go here AT NIGHT. One of the most beautiful restaurant patios I have ever been on! I didn't realize I was getting bitten by mosquitoes on my legs under the table though, but I was... so heads up about that. Wear bug spray. My food was excellent, I got the pastrami and it's definitely the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. My peers got the North Texas Hot Brown and the half rack of ribs, and they were good but not excellent. The frankenfood special is a shrimp and peanut butter and jelly sandwich... I didn't try it this time but probably will eventually just to say I did. Yikes, haha. Our waitress was pretty unenthused, she could have given a little more of a presentation about the frankenfood thing, she just rattled off like she had memorized a boring paragraph. They have something like 40 local beers on tap, and pints are $5... that's pretty cheap for around here. They have a great variety of different types. Choose your own flight is $7, totally worth it to sample some of our local beers. I saw a few dogs on the patio and some water bowls for them so it looks like they are dog friendly. OH and the BEER ICE CREAM! That was amazing!!!! So, so, so, SO recommend!!! The star deduction is for enenthused waitress and somewhat mediocre food for everyone except me. Not a big deal, we will definitely be back for drinks and occasionally food. Overall, a good find!

Had lunch here this week. What a great Texas craft beer selection. Over 40 local texas beers on tap. Service was great, waiter very knowledgeable about beer selections. Had the grilled okra as appetizer, it was surprisingly delicious. The pastrami sandwich was so good. I highly recomend this place.

WORST. SERVICE. EVER. If there was a zero star option, that's what I would rate. Heard great things and wanted to give Luck a try for brunch. Showed up early enough to grab a table easily and was pumped for a beer and donut flight. Server was eager to help with choices.....that's when it all went downhill. Sat at the table for 30 minutes after ordering with only a glass of water. Watched table after table arrive and receive food only to watch our server keep taking orders and NEVER deliver any of it. Finally after getting more and more frustrated I approached the waiter that apologized for being busy and said he was "moving as fast as he can". Approached the manager who offered no solution and a lame apology. Finally walked out. Enter at your own risk, I won't be back to see if it was a one time thing.

The area is seriously it. But Luck nails the atmosphere. Very casual cool. It feels like being in a restaurant with your friends. The open doors. The porch. I can't wait to be a regular here. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and it was delicious! I haven't had much pastrami before, but they smoke the heck out of it. The mustard on the sandwich was very good with the onions and the sourdough. On the side, they give you an order of homemade chips. I'm more of a fry gal, but these chips are good! My table split an order of the bierocks, which I didn't expect to like but I did! The sauce was a good pairing. It didn't overtake the breading and meat. My table also split the citrus cake. I honestly hate lemon cake but didn't hate this cake. It didn't have that cloying overly sweet fake lemon taste. It was probably what other people think of when they think of a lemon cake. (I'm not really into beer, so you don't see any info about the beer. My table was very pleased with the owner's recommendations) Check out Luck. You won't regret it!

Luck is one of the cool spots in the newly renovated part of Southwest Dallas across the bridge called Trinity Groves. Great beer selection and fun casual atmosphere. I enjoyed a beer flight of local Texas beers for $5. The soft pretzels were nice but the beer cheese fondue sauce it came with was the star. The potroast was extremely tender. The brown gravy was silky smooth and mild in flavor. It was served a top a bed of country potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The country potatoes would have been much nicer with a little olive oil and rosemary. Overall good experience and way less hipsters then Bishop Arts. Check out South Dallas!

Good beer and flights at good prices. I loved the stout mustard that came with the pretzels so much I asked for a to go container. It's just wrong to waste that goodness. The pork schnitzel is great and unlike most spaetzel I've had, theirs is as I imagine the way they all are supposed to be. The braised pot roast was a bit dry and underseasoned and the Brussels and potatoes that came with it were equally forgettable. All in all. Great concept, atmosphere and menu. I will certainly go back and try more or just come for a tasty brew!

Think beer, think Germany, right? Think again: LUCK will open your mind to the diversity and sophistication of brewing happening right here in our own backyard. With a wide selection of reasonably priced drafts--and flight options--you'll be able to choose something to your liking or try something new. While LUCK certainly gets 5 stars for the beer, its food sadly didn't keep pace in my book. The pastrami sandwich was good (not stellar), but the portion was so large and heavy that it took away from the overall dining experience a bit. Though I guess you can't really complain for getting too much food... The beer ice cream, likewise, was a little disappointing. I suppose its novelty makes ordering it worthwhile, but I couldn't taste much of the beer flavor--but perhaps that was the point. Order it, and item #2452 on your bucket list will be complete. #successfortheday

Bier rocks rock! Damn this is definitely one of my new favorite places and the bier rocks are going to be something I dream about. Service was solid, we were seated on the patio on Friday night. A little chilly, they definitely need to invest in some patio heaters but I'm not going to hold that against them because everything else was spot on. Was stoked to see the extensive craft list with a wide array of dark beers too. I started off with a pretzel stout from Martin house. This paired perfectly with the bier rocks. Ground beef and cheese stuffed rolls, of soo perfect on a cold evening. server was super nice and very helpful on food suggestions. My wife went for the fish and chips while I ordered up some pot roast. Fish and chips were solid but my pot roast really stood out! Tender, flavorful, on top of home fries and Brussels sprouts. Laid back enough while still being something nicer. I really gotta make it back here when they have a stout nice cream to try on top of their porter brownie.

Another eatery opens in Trinity groves! Joining the restaurants already here in this restaurant incubator is LUCK (local urban craft kitchen) and they totally specialize in local beers. 40 taps and all within a 75 mile radius. They have been specials too so do follow them on Facebook to see the best times to visit. They also often have special food items with beer used in it Love the idea, love the staff, love the decor/location. I need to come back and eat more from the menu. The bier rocks were great as was a beer/shrimp special pasta. The wings were real pieces of chicken just a little overdone (burnt) and very salty. We've been down to trinity groves multiple times now and the patio at luck seems to be the most popular on every visit So happy so this this incubator concept working out in Dallas. LUCK is a great addition

This place is AWESOME!!! Not only so they have about 40 different local beers for all u beer lovers, they also have ciders and AMAZING food and desserts. If that wasn't enough the service is wonderful. There is a sense of home. I feel like this is an advertisement but really the service is great! This is my second time here and it will definitely NOT be my last!

Hung out at the bar area before a attending a benefit. The staff are very friendly, the 40 beers on tap change as well. Nice huge patio. The place was full and eventually got packed so I recommend getting there early. I ordered the Torta de Lengua (almost like a panini but better). I was pleasantly surprised at how tender and tasty this sandwich was. It had sweet onions in the sandwich that gave it a twist Ive never had with this meat before. If you're near 35 and the Margret Hunt bridge swing by its a quick and easy trip!

Luck is a new restaurant in Dallas that takes dining to the next level without draining your pocketbook. When I went I had the blueberry butternut squash salad with house pastrami sandwich with fries chips on the side. By fries chips I mean chips fried on site, not lays potato chips. The salad was fresh, and delicious with a nice vinaigrette that didn't overpower the salad. The pastrami sandwich was flavorful and hot, adding a nice constrast to the salad. We then finished our meal off with a funnel cake. Not your typical crunchy fried fair food, this was more like a soft chewy pretzel but with all the funnel cake deliciousness. We went at lunch so too early for a beer but one of the cool features of luck I was told is that their beer is all local. So no Bud light or Shiner Bock but good local beer and for a decent price also.

luck noun 1. success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one's own actions "it was just luck that the first kick went in" 2. an amazing gastropub dedicated to serving local food and local craft beer aka Local Urban Craft Kitchen "I just ate at LUCK suckers!' Newly opened LUCK is already making heads spin due to its popularity. It's not surprising, however, considering the movement of supporting more local, especially when it comes to craft beer. Their mission is simple, to promote the local craft beer industry by designing dishes around said craft beer. In fact, its popularity even stunned the owners. They never expected this. They ran out of beer. They ran out of food. They had to close Monday just to restock! Due to unforeseen circumstances I have been unable to eat much at LUCK during its first week of being open but I will have plenty of opportunities considering its close proximity to my house and now open for lunch. I did, however, have their soft pretzel served with homemade mustard and beer cheese. Damn good, especially with a Community Wit. Read full review here: youstayhoppydallas.com/2…

Went here with my boss . Had an amazing server she was very polite and informative. Had the smoked wings and beer rocks for appetizers . Then had the pastrami sandwich one of the best I've ever had I must admit. The handmade fries are amazing . Over all a great time and would recommend this place easily

Love the food..the local beer is great however not being able to get service at the Red Chair Lounge Area (What we refer to as the forbidden zone) is a little annoying. I'm currently here at Pint Night and the "Head Bartender" has the personality of a hang nail. Giving you the feeling he is doing YOU a favor by getting you beer. Very disappointing since we come here quite often and the service has been great but not tonight. What a shame!

I've enjoyed Luck for a while but this past weekend the food was off. Gary got the steak salad medium and the steak came out completely overdone. My food was underwhelming too. Not sure we'll be back soon. A $20 salad should come out perfect every time.

New contemporary restaurant in the Trinity Groves development of the OC. Physically, it's part of the long structure that houses or is to house several commercial developments, including some that may be transitory by design. Moderate in size, semi-crowded when full, modern industrial decor on the inside with a large covered patio of picnic-table seating out front. Limited parking facing the street but a larger lot in the back. Had the shrimp and grits, served smothered in a light tomato sauce and a fried egg on top. Shared bites off a few other plates including the "bier rocks," their take on the empanada or meat pasty. Good food, tasty and fresh, and the nibble I had of the house-made pastrami was incredible. I note all reviews so far are over-the-top glowing but, while good, it simply did not blow me away. This place suffers a bit from a lack of focus: a handful of sandwiches, a handful of entrees ranging from pot roast to shrimp and grits to schnitzel. It doesn't quite know what sort of culinary identity it wants, and there's only so far one can go serving sandwiches and chips. There is some inventiveness on the limited menu but overall it falls just short of a great food destination. As per the name, local craft beer is center stage with 40 taps of strictly local beers, nothing brewed more than about 75 miles away. Kudos for this semi-bold move but, again, the restaurant part of it doesn't quite land where it should. The servers are helpful and very well-informed but the menu includes no beer-style pairing recommendation for each dish, nor does it expound on what types of beers were used as ingredients or inspiration in what is advertised as a "craft beer inspired kitchen." At best, this is a great craft beer bar with some good food. Beer and wine only (no liquor), still waiting on legal stuff before filling growlers (beer to go). Heavily subsidized as part of the TG development, we'll see if it is competitive as a restaurant as more ventures surround it.

Add another place to the gluttony list! Awesome place. Amongst our group we had the Chicken Wings, Pot Roast, Smoked Chicken, Shrimp and grits, Grilled Romain salad, bunch of beers and the beer brownie and apple fritter funnel cake both topped with beer ice cream. Wings were great, nice bbq flavor with a habanero kick. I was presently surprised they were whole wings instead of the rinky dinky wingstop ones. Pot Roast was super tender, Smoked Chicken was good, could use more a deeper smoke flavor. Grilled salad? Pretty good i must say, never had a grilled salad. The smoked jalapeno flavor was a great touch. Now the shrimp and grits. That was excellent. IMO, it rivals some of the shrimp and grits i've had in Charleston. Beer Brownie and funnel cake? Yes, yes yes. Need more. and Beer ice cream paired great with them. Downside....it was slammed, which is a good thing, I hope they stay around for a long time. And they were out of Bier Rocks. Oh well....just another excuse to come back more often!

Met some business associates for lunch. New place for us and we're glad we did. Pastrami sandwich was epic! Staff was great. Service was quick, even with a lunch crowd. Wasn't noisy like a lot of other places seem to be nowadays. Can't wait to come back and try more of their huge selection of beer. Parking was simple. Well done, LUCK.

This place is always a solid choice to go when you want a nice tasting beer and maybe lunch on a beautiful 100 degree Texas day. I'm not that impressed with the Pastrami sandwich, but I always end up getting tipsy and just ordering the brownie with beer ice cream instead. This is by far the best brownie I've ever had. To be fair, I've only really had brownies that my mom made me when I was a kid that came from a package, but the brownie means business. It looks like they added some new food to the menu, so I may have to try some of the new food items next time around. The staff is nice and approachable but sometimes when it's crowded and you just want a beer it's a little annoying to get one. One time I got some attitude from a grandmother that didn't understand that people sometimes reach their arms out in between you to get beers.

Disclaimer: I'm a huge beer drinker and I love patios. AMBIANCE: I'd ran across enough positive articles to want to give it a try so we set out to check out Trinity Groves, the cute new area RIGHT at the end of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge like a pot of gold from it's rainbow. We ooh'd and aah'd at it coming in and found the strip of restaurant/bars with huge patios covered in twinkling lit-up trees charming. Each restaurant had a dimly lit indoor section and a patio --which was definitely the place to be given the view and that it was essentially a massive patio for all the restaurants (divided by tiny gates) so there was more company spread out, seeming fuller. FOOD/BEER: We ordered a shared Shrimp & Grit and shared burger. They charge $2 extra for shared plates but they were presented nicely, I'm pretty sure had a bit more food on it (otherwise that's a looot of chips for one burger) and on the grits plates each had it's own fried egg. Delicious, by the way! The shrimp were big and the grits slightly salty which seems like a natural pairing with anything that came from the sea so I was very much a fan. The burger was good too though I found it odd they don't have fries; just chips. The beer menu is awesome, all local craft beers as I'm sure we all know by now. We tried all the flights of beers to get a good amount of variety. For the love of God try the beer ice cream! It's made with The Temptress and has such a rich, deep coffee-caramel flavor that it made brain freezes worth it from shoving it in so fast to prevent the rest of the table from getting more. SERVICE/OTHER: the waitress was awesome in explaining the beers, offering suggestions, and helping us throughout the night. They also had people that consistently came around to fill water and pick up plates which made service very quick. Given the dogs on the patio it's evidently dog friendly and they don't require a reservation to eat. I went to try a different restaurant at Trinity Grove that night but didn't realize all the others require a reservation so I quickly found myself back at LUCK again, to which I had no objections.

Yeah...there is nothing bad at this place. Tons of beer, friendly and knowledgable staff. Kevin at the bar was great. Knew just about everything about the 40 beers on tap. I had the beer rocks and they were stupendous. Soft rolls with minced meat? Yes please. Also had the pastrami which they are know for and it was great. Exactly what Kevin described. A mix between Jewish style pastrami and Texas biscuit. It's a small place so I'd imagine it gets pretty busy on the weekend. They were out of the Pozole but I hear it's great.

I visited Dallas for business and looked on Yelp! for good craft beer restaurants and this was one of the results. Drove up and was immediately impressed with the area. It's a bunch of different restaurants in one building with a huge covered front porch with lots of ceiling fans. I walked into Luck and sat at their bar. They probably have 10 seats at the bar but have a decent sized dining area along with the outside. The bartender greeted me about 5 minutes after I walked in, handed me the drink and food menu and said he'd be back soon. He probably returned about 5 minutes later. I ordered the $7 IPA flight along with shrimp and grits. They have a great, local draught craft beer selection! I believe all pints are $5...pretty reasonable for craft beer. About 5 minutes later they delivered my piping hot shrimp and grits. They were FABULOUS! They were, hands down, the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. The grits were tasty, shrimp had a wood fire grill taste, the sauce was great and I loved the fried egg on top. Writing about it makes my mouth water. I would definitely recommend LUCK to anyone who loves craft beer and great food!

The beer selection is great but they were out of almost every one we wanted! Literally 40 to 50% of their beer list was marked off. The food was ok. I got the hot chicken and it wasn't great but wasn't bad. My husband got the pot roast and it was tiny and way too salty. It seems like people really like their sandwiches so maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. We will definitely give it another try, at least for a few drinks before going to one of the other trinity groves restaurants for actual dinner.

Great restaurant in the new Trinity Grove area. We went for lunch...crowd was steady but we were seated right away inside. Outside has huge space and I'm sure nights are a big draw for outside area. The decor is modern country and very relaxing, laid back. Tables were a bit close, but booths looked very comfy. Food was amazing ! I suggest the Signature Pastrami! They have a separate dinner menu. Tons of beer on tap including some local stuff. Also wine and I believe a full bar. Service was good...with just a few draw backs...we never got a tea refill and simple stuff, like getting our change back, took a while...it looked like our server also had tables outside...which would explain the extra time. Overall this was a great place for lunch and I would definitely try it for dinner.

Beer Rocks = SO GOOD!!! I was expecting cheesy doughy, greasy something...but nope it was perfection. not too cheesy, meaty, just plain yummy ---- get it!! Lots of beers on tap -- they have beer flights for you to try four different ones at once from a local brewery -- $5-7 I think Fish entrée was a redfish with quinoa and lemon sauce. too lemony/sour, but I appreciated the light-ness Brisket pastrami sandwich was huge, served with homemade-tasting chips. I thought it was ok, a tad better than average

For my first visit to Trinity Groves, I was pretty pumped. Parking was readily available and plentiful for a late Friday evening. We walked in to LUCK and were seated right away. Upon looking at the menu I was instantly overwhelmed. Since I was feeling a bit under the weather, I ordered the pozole. The pozole itself was great but the other options were not just that appealing to me. The drink menu had the same effect on me as well. There are many many local beers on the menu, a couple of ciders, and wine offerings but no other alcohol whatsoever. Unless it's a Dos XX I'm not that much of a beer girl so I went with the cider. While I didn't expect it to taste like an Angry Orchard, I did expect the cider to have a bit more flavor. Our waitress Tara was very friendly and the staff was accommodating to our party of 7. Bathrooms were clean and have an indicator of whether they are occupied or available, which is nice. The food just underwhelmed me and the menu variety just wasn't there for me.

I enjoy places that have small menus but damn.... this place was pushing it! I didn't see anything that I might enjoy but ended up getting the shredded beef and beef tongue sandwich and it was alright....if you can get past the sensation of a dead cows taste buds rubbing up againts your own tastebuds. The beefrocks(I THINK that's what they're called) are a really good appetizer. It's like a mini sheppards pie that comes with a ju and gravy dipping sauce. The service was SLOW and our app came out with our entrees. Oh, and they have one cider and it's not that good. It's flat and lacks alcohol in my opinion.

Went here on Saturday with some girlfriends and really enjoyed it! If you like 40 different beers to choose from on tap then you'll love this place . They also had wine n cider on tap for those with a more sophisticated pallet :) Definitely try the beer pockets - omg good! N we tried the pretzels which were good but had nothing on the beer pockets. Also shared the shrimp n grits which was more than enough - good stuff. Overall enjoyed it n would love to go back soon!

I give 3 1/2 stars. I've been here on 3 separate occasions while in Dallas for work. 1st time was right before last call. My coworker and I walked in sat at the bar and had some ice gold beers! Peaked at the menu and it looked amazing. Came back the next day for lunch. Burger was delicious! Came back a third time. . .you have to try the pastrami sandwich, untraditional seasoning but unbelievably good, on texas toast! Yum.Fried green tomatoes with a spicy sauce was excellent. The wings can be a bit messy to eat but the flavor is there (if not for this would rate them a 4). Service is good but it gets busy best to go early. If you go at night, take advantage of the view over by the bridge. Nice walk after eating an drinking.

Tried Luck out based on Yelp reviews in my first visit to Trinity Groves. The Bierocks were fantastic! We tried the pastrami sandwich and a salad with chicken. The food was really good, but the Bierocks appetizer outshined everything else we tried. Service was friendly and prompt and overall experience enjoyable. I recommend Luck. Furthermore, the area is really nicely revitalized. The outdoor atmosphere reminds me of a beach environment. We got lucky and came on an August evening on which the temperature was in the low 80s. Could have sat outside all evening.

Must try the beirocks! Came here for the first time last night for a birthday party and it was a great experience. Tried pretty much every appetizer and there was not one I didn't like. Lots of local Texas beers to choose from! I enjoyed the bockslider from Martin house. Loved it! Food was good! Atmosphere was good! Definitely take advantage of the call ahead seating as there are no reservations to be made! I'll be back Trinity Groves!

Sweet smokey wings were a hit. My uncle told me to try them and I'm glad I did. I may've looked crazy eating them all with my hands, but man were they delicious. They come on a bed of spring greens and the flavors worked beautifully together. I would love to come back and try their sandwiches and get those yummy wings again. Service was good too, reasonably priced. No complaints!

Love the busy and scenic atmosphere. We had the bier rocks (meh), charred okra (pretty good), burger (pretty good), pastrami(meh), and sweet&smokey wings (omg, amazing!) with a side of blood orange Kombucha(so delicious!) servers were all friendly, I just wish they had more variety in their menu.

Went here after a few friends had recommended it and had a GREAT time! You must get the bierrocks when you go, they change the game. Also had pretzels as an app, yum yum yum. Great beer, relaxed atmosphere and beer ice cream that tastes like angel food cake = yahs. You won't be disappointed!

So continues the march through Trinity Groves. Next stop? LUCK. It's good, but there are better options in the city. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? While it's not dissimilar from the neighboring spots in Trinity Groves, the bar and table combination layout in LUCK is a comfortable one, and it's made better by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. While I did try to come on Saturday evening only to abandon all hope when I saw how crowded it was, that was my own fault; but be advised, it gets crowded on the weekend. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? LUCK's prices are very much on par with what I'll call "crafts + more" spots, that it, brewpubs with a great selection on tap and a strongly variable menu. I've listed two others below: The Common Table (2 stars): yelp.com/biz/the-common-… The Social House (4 stars): yelp.com/biz/the-social-… I couldn't quite sort out what LUCK's specialty was after a quick Yelp scan, but in that it was identified as a "signature" dish on the menu, I opted for the $13 grilled pastrami sandwich. The portion was more than reasonable once you tacked on the side of house cut and fried potato chips: yelp.com/user_local_phot… Fair. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? I'm a pretty big pastrami fan, and while this was a good sandwich, I had a few gripes with it. First and foremost, bread can make or break and sandwich, and while I was thrilled to see that the bread of choice for the pastrami sandwich was sourdough, I was a bit disappointed to quickly find that this bread was absolutely drenched in either butter or oil. You can possibly see it in the picture, and it very quickly left me with the feeling in my stomach that I was too bogged down in oil or butter (or both?) to really enjoy the sandwich. The feeling was compounded by some homemade potato chips that, while good, were also really heavy. From there, the pastrami was very good, but the sandwich was overpowered by the grilled onions. My fault for not having them go easy on the onions, but it was a distraction nonetheless. By the end of the meal I simply wasn't feeling my best, and quickly wished I'd split the meal with someone. Again, this is partially my fault, but it's worth noting that this was an exceptionally heavy sandwich, and not in the fresh and tasty way that I've found elsewhere. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? LUCK is a really great option if you're looking for beers on tap and a variable menu, but there are simply too many good alternatives (I see you Social House) to place it among my favorites. No Star Granted.

My boyfriend and I recently moved to the up-and-coming West Dallas, just down the street from Trinity Groves. We were so excited to have a Monday night date night out at one of the famous incubator restaurants! We did some research and decided on LUCK - and it was deserving of all 5 stars. First of all, you CANNOT beat the atmosphere of the Trinity Groves restaurants. The outdoor patios and fun themes strung together by lanterns, lights and bright awnings come together to give you a truly special experience. We sat outside, and even in the heat, the fans and the occasional breeze was more than enjoyable. LUCK has an extensive beer selection, and I chose a light, strawberry cider to match the hot summer weather. For our appetizer, I wanted to try the one thing on the menu I had never heard of - bierocks! We highly recommend these salty balls of seasoned meat and cheese....dipped in the fondue queso is simply...amazing. For my entree, I got the North Texas Hot Brown, an open-faced turkey, bacon, tomato sandwich that hit the spot. Came with home made chips (I chose to dip them in their specialty Jalapeño Buttermilk ranch) and a pickle. My boyfriend got the wings (listed as an appetizer). He had heard from others that they were the best thing on the menu, and he gobbled them!! They were huge and meaty - not just a drummy or a flat, but the full wing. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable - he was able to make awesome suggestions! We have ZERO complaints about our experience, and cannot wait to go back to LUCK as well as the neighboring restaurants. A/100!

Atmosphere: 4.5 stars. Service: 4.5 stars. Taste of food: 3 stars. Value: 2 stars. The atmosphere of Trinity Groves is a mixture of the Lower Greenville, Uptown, & Highland Park Village crowd. The covered outdoor patios are a nice convenience when the sun is shining and the heat of summer is blaring. It's nice that all patios are interconnected but separate at the same time. Each restaurant has an outdoor game you can play (ex: life size checkers, corn hole, etc) while you are waiting on your table. What an enjoyable way to pass the time with friends before the main attraction: dinner. Dinner: Luck does not have a full bar. Strike one in my book. As someone with celiac disease I appreciated that they did have a lot of choices on their menu for glutards ( G free options). However they only had two cider options and minimal wine options (one white wine and three reds). Quite a disappointment. I ordered the grilled romaine & roasted jalapeño w buttermilk dressing with an additional shrimp added on for a whopping $16. I'm sorry but $16 for a salad is a bit pricey. This salad better be life changing for that price. Or at least give me some decent sized shrimp. Nope- wimps for shrimps...see my picture. strike two. My husband ordered the pastrami sandwich for $14 with a side of chips. His comment: not much flavor and a little dry. Not what you would want to hear from a $14 sand which. Strike 3. The service, however, EXCELLENT!! Our server, Joey was a stud. He was constantly filling our waters and made sure that my husband and his friend had beers to their liking at all times. A++ Overall, while we enjoyed our experience at trinity groves & the service at Luck, we found it overpriced for sub standard food.

My husband and I attended an event here last night. This was our first time visiting and we were excited about the event and trying LUCK for the first time. We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer - these were visually very appealing but tasted bland. The tomatoes were unseasoned and given that the batter was bland, I really think just some simple salt and pepper on the tomatoes before breading would have really made a difference. For dinner I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and my hubby ordered the pastrami sandwich. The shrimp and grits were very good and I would definitely recommend this dish. The pastrami sandwich was delicious but was unfortunately served with stale house-made chips. The flavor of the chips were very good but the staleness really kept us from fully enjoying them. The place was crowded but our server was very attentive and did a great job. They have a great selection of beer, however the bartenders could use more customer service training. I hate feeling like an inconvenience in a business where I am giving you my hard earned money. I also hate waiting for a bartender to acknowledge me for 10 minutes only to have them wait on someone else who walked up 30 seconds before. Overall, the food was good but not great. Unfortunately, we will not be going out of our way to visit this restaurant again. It's sad because I think they have a great deal of potential and are located in a prime location. They just need to step it up with the food (seasoning and freshness counts!) and make the bar area a bit more customer friendly.

Great food, amazing beer, nice atmosphere, good staff - what's not to love?! I've eaten several dishes on their specialty & regular menus - it's all good! I love their selections. Not sure what to drink with your food? Get a flight! Ask your server, they're all knowledgeable!

Really like this area of Trinity Groves-it definitely seems to be up and coming! The beer selection at LUCK was good and the menu was slightly smaller, but still filled with delicious items. We ordered the pretzel which we LOVED (the beer queso was amazing) and split the pastrami sandwich which was filled with meat and had an amazing dijon mustard sauce smothered on it along with a side of fresh chips. Prices were reasonable too. The only real complaint I'd have to give is with the service. It seemed to take FOREVER to get anything out to us (whether it be a beer, side of ranch, apps, entree, etc). We had all ordered sandwiches at the table (5 of us) and the last one had not come out yet. We had to flag down the bus boy (who was awesome) to see what happened. Apparently, our waiter forgot to press the "send" button on our order. Instead of coming over and apologizing, the waiter just didn't say anything at all. After the bus boy scrambled to get the last sandwich to us, we asked to speak to the manager. She was really nice and offered us a round of free drinks, but at that point, we just wanted to leave our tips for the bus boy and get outta there! It still surprisingly took a while to close out and we had to flag down another bus boy to do so, but the overall experience wasn't that impressive. Also, it's really confusing to tell who actually works there (esp the bus boys) since there are no real uniforms that they are wearing.

Very cool beer selection. I was able to check it out extensively during my hour and a half wait... We were quoted 45 minutes, and I really thought it wouldn't be that long, but they mean it, haha. We tried the flights of beers, so that was fun! All local, and niche, not your typical beer selection, and I'm a seasoned vet when it comes to local beers. Loved that. $5 flat pricing on all beer. Fried green tomatoes were really good, if you like spicy food. The sauce that comes on top is HOT, so I would ask for it on the side if you want to taste everything else. The pastrami sandwich was excellent, if you like smokey meats! And the steak salad was an all around great choice- steak cooked perfectly medium, great flavors with the mango salsa. Good place, great atmosphere, outdoor seating, long wait. We will be back! Love the Trinity Groves area- 5 or 6 restaurants all in a row, so you can compare wait times and menus to help you decide where to eat. :) Update: went back again for mother's day and tried the burger (great) and the open faced turkey beer cheese sandwich (not great). The turkey sandwich was blah- needs grilled jalapenos or something to jazz it up. Thought the beer cheese would be great, but it gave it a sweet, kind of banana like flavor. Odd. Based on the reviews and my own experience, LUCK really needs to re-vamp this one.

They carry over 40 beers on tap - to start. It was a warm day but I went with the restaurant recommendation which was pot roast. Way too heavy for a summer day BUT exceptional at that. I expect they adjust the menu a bit to address the seasonal fare. I'd also suggest any of their sandwiches at lunch. My wife had their house cured ruben which was well worth the bite. She is gluten free so we had it breadless which still made for a great meal. Enjoy.

Great atmosphere, food, and especially the beer. Oh, and of course the bartender, Kevin, was wonderful with conversation and attention to detail (without being a bother, he regularly checked on us and made us feel remembered even during their super busy dinner hour). Typically I like Hefeweizen beers, so Kevin suggested the blood and honey beer - great suggestion! Alao, I tried the chosen one beer because it was coconut and light too. The appetizers were par (pretzel was a little too crispy but the bier rocks were yum). The entree I split with a friend was schnitzel with red cabbage and spaetzel was delicious!! I recommend it! Did I mention they played great music? Nice place with good beer and schnitzel!!!

Three words: Beer Cheese Sauce. Yum. We go to Luck for the beer. We stay for the Bierocks with cheese sauce. We love the other food (the smoked pastrami is heavenly) but we usually make a meal of the Bierocks. How can you go wrong with a little pocket of meat and cheese dipped in Beer Cheese Sauce. Did I mention the Beer Cheese Sauce? They need to sell that in gallon jugs to take home. The beer selection isn't insanely big but it doesn't need to be. They have just the right mix of IPA's, Ales, etc. to satisfy any beer lover. Be sure to bring your growler to fill up on your way out. The service is a little uneven but the friendliness of the staff makes up for it. They'll happily bring you extra Beer Cheese Sauce. Did I mention the Beer Cheese Sauce?? Yum.

We've been meaning to come here for a while. Just like Ivory W, we chose LUCK because it was the busiest and the busiest restaurant can never be a bad choice. The other restaurants, to be unnamed but is an Asian Latino themed restuarant, had two people the whole time we were there. Sad. Anyhow, we were immediately seated right outside the door and it was a bright sunny Saturday. The weather was perfect to be seated under the canopy. In the sun, it would have been uncomfortably hot. We sit down and ask the waitress for her recommendations. The menu isn't particularly big so we are able to make our choices quickly. I go with the Signature Pastrami. It's brisket style pastrami, not thin sliced like sandwich meat so be aware that it's going to be a messy eating experience. I managed to take a paper towel and wrap my sandwich so that it kept most of the contents in. It also managed to soak up some of the oil that came from the pastrami. This means I soaked 4 paper towels worth of oil from my sandwich. For those of you who are avoiding saturated fat, this sandwich is probably not for you. Or if you're like me who is trying to avoid saturated fat, you should make a healthy choice for your next meal. The sandwich was pretty good. I would have liked it to be more of the inside meat and less of the crusty/burnt edge of the meat and I as I mentioned already, I would have preferred less oil to be soaked into the bread. The wife got the Blueberry and Raw Butternut Squash Salad. She said it was good but it wasn't great. The butternut squash is shaved so it's little slices, not chunks. It sounds like it wasn't tasty enough to order again with other tastier sounding choices on the menu. The chips were very good. They're kettle chips and I believe they're home made. I don't drink but they do happen to have 40 beers on tap, so for those of you who do drink, they have plenty for you to try.

LUCK is awesome! Trinity Groves is really coming along and this place is a really good example of how great places are popping up down there. Mike was our server and he was really awesome. He gave us tastings of whatever beers we wanted to try, on top of making suggestions. Their craft beer selection is extremely impressive with basically everything on tap coming from like a 100 mile radius of Dallas which is super cool. On to the food... Definitely get the PASTRAMI sammich. It is to die for. Thick cut brisket style pastrami on an awesome bread with cheese and Mike suggested we added a fried egg which sounded kind of odd, but man am I glad we did. Took it to a whole nother level. Overall a great find and I will definitely be coming back.

This place is a must for trying great local beers. I grew up in a Dallas suburb and had no idea how many beers are home-grown in the Metroplex until I saw the L.U.C.K menu. If you're intrigued, as I was, by the brews designed next door at Four Corners, why not try them all? L.U.C.K. offers flights at practically the same price as a regular beer - viva variety! Perfect for a warm spring afternoon, their outdoor patio is where beer was designed to be drunk. I only wish I had come on an empty stomach so I could also have tried their food. My inside source tells me that the chef works very hard to come up with unique flavors and new takes on old favorites. Although they do offer it, please do yourself a favor and don't order a hamburger.

Always stop by this place when in town. I am sure the rest of the menu is as delicious as the bierrocks and steak salad , but I can't pull myself away from them to explore new things ! Beer is out of this world. Gets you out of your ordinary.

Went in here randomly on a Tuesday night after working up an appetite at Four Corners Brewery across the parking lot (awesome CHEAP craft beer btw). We decided to check this place out cuz the reviews were pretty good. It was the best decision we made!! We came pretty late, around 9:15, but they were very friendly and accommodating. The location is really cool. Big patio. Trinity groves is a bunch of cool restaurants connected by a huge patio. Would probably be very fun on the weekend. Our server at LUCK was Johnny and he was awesome! He was extremely friendly and knowledgable. He gave us many samples of different beers we wanted to try. The beer selection is unreal. All local brews on tap and a really wide selection. I had the 903 Chosen One coconut ale and it was BEYOND! My boyfriend really loved this place cuz you can bring your own growler and fill it with whatever you want for about $20 which was cool. The food was unbelievable!! We tried the pozole, sweet and smokey wings, and the beer rocks. All were amazingn! The wings were huge and juicy and so flavorful. Smoked for 8 hours! My boyfriend claims the pozole was like authentic Mexican pozole just like his mom makes! And the beer rocks are like like bread puffs filled with beef and cheese and onion. So yummy. Didn't even make it past any of the appetizers but I'm sure their entrees are fabulous too! Prices are kind of high, but a price I'm totally willing to pay for quality craftsmanship! This place is awesome. If it were closer I'd be there every weekend!

YUCK! The most unappealing food I've had in a long time. I had the windy meadows chicken. It was chicken in a red sauce, yellow colored rice, avocado and pickled onions. Sounds delicious right? Wrong with every bite I took it was hard to swallow do to the dryness. I left more than half on the plate the waiter didn't even bother to ask if I would like a Togo box he must had seen the ugly look on my face. I usually don't go on yelp to give bad reviews normally I leave it alone but this time it was just to nasty to ignore. They got only two starts because the horribly dry food. Not so good customer service and the price I paid for something that tasted like it was only worth $5 vs the $18 I paid for the chicken.

Update- They have a hidden kids menu! Turkey and cheese, grilled cheese, or PB&J. My whole family left very happy. Craft beer, craft beer food, AND is now kids friendly! It has been over a year since my last visit. Jeff the owner remembered me and we had a nice discussion about my two long running passions- craft beer and Aggie football. I wish you LUCK Jeff with your booming business. (See what I did there?)

If your craving a few beers but don't want to tour four corners brewery. LUCK has got you covered. Besides having four corners beers, they also have at least 40 or more other beers on TAP. I want to point out shrimp and grits are a must order item. The charred okra is ok, save your cash for something else. One bartender can seem rude at time but overall a good staff. Plethora of beer and taste options.

We couldn't have picked a better day to try LUCK! Finally, after all the rain subsided from the past couple of weeks, we couldn't wait to get out & about to enjoy a gorgeous 72 degree day, to sit on the patio & enjoy plenty of Free local beer & listen to an amazing local musician, Paco Estrada at LUCK ! Lucky us! First, this day was very busy at LUCK. There were several local breweries set up just off the patio, offering as many beer samples as you wanted. There were several local musicians playing just off the patio, as well. The atmosphere was pretty darn perfect! For starters, we ordered the Sweet & Smokey Wings....probably the BEST I've ever eaten! You're going to need plenty of wet napkins after eatin' those bad boys! Hubby ordered the Red Chili Pozole....couldn't have been any better! I ordered the Grilled Romaine w/Roasted Jalapeno Dressing & Smoked Chicken Salad for my entree.....even better than I expected. Hubby ordered the House Made Smoked Pastrami Eggs Benedict.....OUTSTANDING! There was NO room left for a dessert, but they all looked pretty darn good. Maybe next time. By the way, LUCK has a great Brunch menu! The wait staff was friendly & knowledgeable about the menu & all were comfortably accommodating.....especially Neil. We look forward to our next visit to LUCK.

This place was great! Funky atmosphere and detail every where, check out the booth seat back cushions! I ordered the fried green tomatoes and it came atop of Texas caviar and drizzled with a spicy aioli. For the entree I chose the Texas Hot Brown Sandwich, it was an open faced sliced roasted turkey with thick cut bacon, grilled tomato and cheese sauce with a side of house made chips. It was extremely good, the turkey was moist and the bacon was crispy. Great food and great staff and super cool vibe. Check it out if you're in Dallas!

Nice location for beer and appetizer type foods. Reasonable variety of local brews to select from. I didn't t try any good during this first visit Worth considering for a visit if you are in that area.

This was my first time to visit the Trinity Groves & was pleasantly surprised by the concept of the restaurants in this area. We decided on L.U.C.K because of all the local brews. We sat on the patio to enjoy the nice evening but probably should have chosen inside because of all the flies "attacking" our food. Also, the beer was a little warm for my taste. Shannon was our server & she was excellent. We ordered the Pot Roast, Shrimp & Grits & a Cheeseburger. I couldn't get enough of the Shrimp & Grits and would definitely recommend & order again. This would be 5 stars for certain if not for the flies & beer temp.

Since I'm loving the new Trinity Groves area, I thought I'd give this restaurant a try. The restaurant itself looks so nice inside! A real Dallas feel with all the prints on the walls and a little succulent in a Deep Ellum Brewing Co. can. It was a bit too chilly for the pretty outdoor patio (complete with twinkling lights!) for me, but it was bustling, and I'm excited for what it will be like in the summer. The food, however, was just alright to me. I ordered the bier rocks as an appetizer, and those were pretty good, but the inside came out kind of cold. They weren't the amazing experience for me as they were for other people it seems? We then ordered the pastrami sandwich (which we've heard a lot about) to share.. And let me tell you, I don't know HOW someone can manage to eat that whole thing. Beastly. I've been living in Texas for most of my life, and I still can't handle the portion sizes. This sandwich is not your regular pastrami sandwich.. I'd say it's more like a BBQ sandwich. The smokey flavor is pretty much overpowering, and it ends up tasting just like tons of smokey meat plus two slices of crispy bread. I kind of prefer more of a "regular" pastrami sandwich.. But that's just me. Overall, I'll probably be back to enjoy the vibe. If I come back for dinner, I'll probably order something else, as I couldn't even finish half of that super heavy sandwich.

LUCK is located in the new, super-trendy, super-cool Trinity Groves area/district/strip/just up and over the Hunt bridge in D town. I first visited when I was working on a film set there; it had been about an 18-hour work day; naturally I grabbed the beer menu one evening, and the rest is history. Not really, I came back a second time and got the uh-mazing chicken wings (they're spicy), and the few other appetizers on the menu (I can't remember, the brews are just *that* good, but the food was five-star, seriously). The atmosphere is awesome and this place deserves an award for their patio. It is THE place to eat/be/drink if you want to do some patio time. Alas, the beers are big, cheap, cold, and just really damn good. If you want to get your buzz on quick, get the spicy Minivan brew. It's pretty badass. And I think it's seasonal so ya better get there ASAP.

We have been to Luck about a half dozen times now & the experiences have been widely divergent. They have what must be the largest *fully local* (N. TX) selection anywhere. That used to be a very limiting prospect but with new breweries constantly popping up, it's fun to know there's somewhere you can go to probably find the more obscure local offerings & definitely can find 1-2 beers from whatever your favorite local brewery is. A few weeks ago we had given up hope that we'd get to try Peticolas' new seasonal, the Irish Goodbye & then were delighted to find it at LUCK! It's a good concept- it's a cool space, the outdoor patio 'communal seating' works. The menu offers a decent variety of pub & miscellaneous dishes, and we agree the 'bier rocks' are delicious, but a burger ordered 'medium rare' on 2 different occasions came out gray & 100% overcooked. We had a very bad experience on Saturday March 1st, there was a trio of the most inattentive female bartenders I've ever suffered. They allowed a family waiting for a table to let their mouthy toddler crawl all over the bar (even after I complained), they seemed to not know or care anything about the beer list & it took a full 15 minutes to bring our check once we finally got their attention at the end of our visit. Isn't it remarkable how lackluster staff can really put a bad taste in your mouth? 3 stars because we've enjoyed 4 of the 6 or so times we've been, but the 2 'bad' times were really disappointing, owing to misfires with the food & moody staff.

Going in, I heard great things about this place but then I looked at the menu. The menu is deceivingly underwhelming. Seemed standard american cuisine... but when the meal came out, mind-blown. We had the burger and wings and they were dope. Burger patty was cooked perfectly and still retained all the juice and fatness we all love. Wings -- wow. Aside to that, I really enjoyed the simple menu with flat rate pricing on the brews, not that I'm too elastic to a +/- a couple bucks, but I'm sure it has a purpose and gives every brew a fighting chance for acceptance and approval.

So i've been hearing rave reviews for a while now. I have done the Dallas Brew Bus a few times and they have catered. I loved the sandwiches and the fresh chips. Others on the bus told me to get the pastrami sandwich. There was a guy on the bus that could not stop talking about it. I went today and lets just saw I was trying badly to like this place. I got a cup of the Red Chile Pozole. It needed salt and there were a few big bones in it. I had my friend try it and she said it was watery and needed more flavor. I ordered the Rabbit Hole Rature brown ale. for a drink and a water. Next came the sandwich. Wow the pastrami looked burnt and dried out. The chips were good. I had 4 bites of the sandwich and I was done. The waiter came by to see if I needed anything else but the check and my friend said that we were ready to leave. It took him some time to bring the check. It was a little busy so I understood. He asked how we liked our meals and I told him that I was not pleased with mine. My friend said the "Beer Rocks" were ok, but she ate an hour before we had lunch so she was not that hungry. The best part of the meal was the beer..... I was underwhelmed and very disappointed. with a $19.00 check. I tipped $2.00 because he badly checked on us and really did not care about how the food was not up to our liking.

I am not a huge fan of the trinity grove area . Not much personality to this strip mall grouping of cafes where LUCK is situated. Only once to LUCK. Sat outside which was a mistake as our table of 10 was swarmed with flies. Right before we left the staff was setting up electric fans so may be less of a problem for future visits. My goat cheese, blue berry, and greens salad was fine. 10 folks at a table seemed a frazzle . One person taking an order and another arriving with that item asking 'who ordered this?' But whatever... How can a person go wrong with yummy beers on tap. And our main waiter looked like a chiseled Giorgio Armani underwear model . His perfection hovering around the table is why I bumped a 3 up to a 4... (-: bonus for a beautiful view.

I'm having a hard time understanding high ratings. Decent beer selection, sub par entrees and service. Bierock Appetizer: B+. My singular food recommendation. Pork Schnitzel: C-. Bland pork and spaetzle. Fortunately, the red cabbage was good. $16 meal where the redeemer is cabbage. Yikes. Country Style Pork Ribs: F. The ribs, beans, and greens were a jumble on the plate and tasted like only one thing: heavy smoke. I'd go as far as calling it gross. $16 meal with no redeemer. Service: C-. We didn't see much of our server, to the extent I had to steal my boyfriend's water. In light of Yelpers' varied experiences, I'd say Luck needs to work on consistency.

We went here on a Sunday night around 6pm. The patio and picnic table format was perfect for our large group. The area itself is really cool. But that's where the fun times ended. Our waitress was awful. Super slow despite being only moderately busy. Their menu is somewhat limited food wise and then they were out of five items. I had ordered the Pastrami but ended up having to get a burger. I asked for it medium well and it came out with a very pink center. It was pretty tasteless as well. My boyfriend had the Scnitzel which was so-so. He said he would not order it again. The good news is they have a cool concept. Local beers and wine and ingredients. They didn't have cider but it seems a cidery is opening in Bishop Arts in the near future which they will then carry. It was not all bad: their chips are delicious. And I found the citrus cake to be just the right amount of flavor. The beer ice cream was rich and creamy as well. I might try it again but I wouldn't make a special trip out there. I hope they get their stuff together because there is potential. But as everyone knows consistency is key and based on all these reviews they are consistently hit or miss.

Great little spot in the Trinity Groves area, perfect for a night out. It was a beautiful crisp evening. I ordered a hamburger and my boyfriend and I split it, along with an appetizer. Loved the area. Will be back!

The local selection is pretty good and they had Bishop Cidery on the drink menu. The seating is more like lunch room than a pub though. Even when flying saucer is packed I can usually find a cozy spot for two. That isn't an option here. The place was packed and pretty loud but the service was good and so was the food. They could use some heated seating outside to ease the occupancy problem.

I hope we get a place like luck in midcities one day.

The environment here at Luck is exceptional. It's a great place to try local beer in the DFW. However the reason why I give it a 4 star is because of the service and the food. The service - our waitress was a bit rude and blunt about all the answers to our questions. She also rarely stopped by to check on us. Service could use a little work. The food - My family and I tried the following: beir-rocks, pot roast, pan-seared seabass (catch of the day), the pastrami sandwich, and the beer battered apple funnel cake with beer ice cream. Everything was delicious, however, everything was also really salty (except for the pan-seared seabass and dessert). I suggest y'all ask them to lessen up on the salt. Overall, I would definitely stop by Luck again for the local beer! :)

I'm not a huge fan of most places in Trinity Groves, but LUCK was actually decent enough that we've been here twice now. Tonight's service was prompt, food was good. Roasted okra appetizer was pretty good, although I think the parm on top was totally unnecessary. I had the steak salad, which was really yummy and fresh, although they subbed radishes for the cucumbers without mentioning it to me first and the aioli sauce was a little thick to use as a dressing (although, to be fair, it was described only as an aioli on the menu, so it was represented accurately). My fiance had the shrimp and grits, which he really enjoyed. The beer menu is vast. Patio was nice, although the first time we were here it was infested with flies. Nice place, will probably return. Good for a quick weeknight dinner when I'm feeling too lazy to cook!

My newest favorite restaurant. Try everything. Pastrami. Roast. Terrific salad with squash and blueberries (add chicken!) Burger. Roasted chicken. Dessert. A bazillion craft beers (and very knowledgeable beertenders). Love the Kombucha non-alcoholic fermented beverage. Great waitstaff, attentive, attractive and friendly with no desire to chat you up too much. And reasonably priced. Took a client to lunch today for under $40, including lunch. Crowded at noon and on weekends. Plan on that or you'll be frustrated.

Very very solid in-house cured and smoked pastrami sandwich. This isn't your normal everyday shaved pastrami. Very smoky and chunky. If you like TX brisket w/ pastrami flavor, you'll love this sandwich. I certainly do. The whole grain mustard is a good touch. The onions are a bit strong and sweet. I'd put fewer or none at all on the sandwich as they over-power the pastrami flavor and also make it fall apart but they didn't ask me so whatever. $13 for a sandwich and home-made chips(bland) is a tad high. At least throw a pickle on the plate so there is more than just two items or give me a more substantial side item other than just chips. The bier balls are good but need more meat filling. I won't order those again. I would order the pozole. It's very good. Their beer selection is local breweries only which is baffling to me. They're cutting out some great national breweries ala founders, stone, ballast point, oskar blues, southern tier, etc.....Why you wouldn't want to put the best of the best along side some local stuff seems weird to me. I'd certainly frequent LUCK more often if their beer selection expanded.

Finally a reason for the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge! To take you to LUCK (Local Urban Crust Kitchen). Had read about this place awhile ago in article on 10 Most-Anticipated Restaurant openings of 2012 and definitely lived up to the hype. Wanted a casual place to enjoy a post-Christmas lunch with our two married children, spouses and grand babies and this was the place. Wait staff could not have been more friendly. We started out with Bierocks, Fire and Smoke Wings and Soft Pretzels. Have never had wings more superbly prepared - such a unique combination of cooked techniques - smoked then grilled. 5 of the 6 adults had the Pastrami Ruebens. I am from New York City and have had Pastrami in some of the top delis in NYC but this Pastrami with the extra kick of the BBQ rub was extraordinary especially paired with the caramelized onions, swiss cheese, and crisp sour dough bread. The homemade potato chips that came with it were just the icing on the cake. I tasted my daughter's country style pork ribs that were smoked and beer braised. Now my decision will be difficult on what to have on the next time I come back as they were extraordinary TOO. Saw diners at the next table with Shrimp and Grits and Pot Roast and they wed raving about their entrees ask well. Now about the beer! I was the "grandma" in the group and have not had beer since my college days but did enjoy tasting some of the lighter beers from my son's flight that he ordered. I loved the idea that they had flights of beers at $5 a piece for newbies like me to try some new things. We did not think this experience could get any better but did decide we had to try the Beer Batter Apple Fritter Funnel Cake. It disappeared within seconds of reaching our table! We did sit inside and loved the decor. The ceiling by the bar is decorated with decoupage of beer poster. Can't wait for the warmer weather to sit on the huge covered patio with beautiful view of the bridge. The friendly and knowledgeable wait staff and creative, tasty menu will definitely bring me back to LUCK again

Blah... Was not a fan of the food the only thing that was decent was the beer batter funnel cake and ice cream... All the food was cold. They weren't busy at all so I couldn't understand why the food came out that way. I would only come here for the atmosphere and probably drinks (that's only because you can't really mess up beer)

LUCK has a silly amount of local beers on tap with people that work there that are knowledgeable enough to give great recommendations. All reasonably priced (as well as the food). The common theme here is the beirrocks are great and it's because...the beirrocks are great. Tasty way to start off the meal. I personally really like the pastrami sandwich. Instead of the traditional plate cut used to make pastrami, the LUCK guys use brisket (flat and point cut) which turns out a pastrami that is more tender and flavorful. The only downside is that the portion is huge which creates the dilemma of whether you want to gorge yourself there or take half of it home for a meal later. Support local, support LUCK!

I had a first date here with a girl I had a huge crush on. We waited 'til the last minute to decide where to go....but once I decided on Trinity Groves..I knew I wanted to go to LUCK. I knew the concept...craft beers with a menu that is all beer inspired either with beer in the recipe or created to pair well with beer.....that concept alone had me interested. My expectations were far exceeded. We started with the Soft Pretzels and Bierocks. I was floored at the flavor in both dishes....well made and being that both dishes were "bread" they weren't doughy at all and weren't overcooked. But let's talk about this beer cheese fondue...um hello....yes I want to dip everything in this....i want to drink it....i contemplated asking for a side of it to pour onto my dates naked body if things went well (they did...but i didn't get the side of fondue). After that we decided to try something hearty.....so we went with the pot roast....again someone give us a gold medal for making another fantastic food selection. The roast was so tender there was no need for a knife.....and those brussels sprouts that accompanied it might be the best i've tasted...like ever. Their beer selection was great....so great that it was hard to make decision....they carry all local beers...and some that I had no idea existed (i.e. Rabbit Hole) I am really glad we decided on this restaurant that night.....I will give a portion of credit to LUCK for the amazing makeout session in my car at the end of the night. I've been back a couple times after that and the Fig & Mozzarella salad, Shrimp & Grits and Blueberry & Squash soup were impeccable...I was alone the other two times though..so no makeouts. Actually as well as that first date went...things with that young woman fizzled out after about a month...but we're still friends so dont' feel sorry for me.

Simply inexplicable. Who knew Dallas had little gems like this hidden away. This is the embodiment of a true gastro pub. Good food. Good beer. Good people. If you don't visit this place, you are doing yourself a disservice. Btw...try the bierrocks.

Hubby and I went here for lunch during the work week. It was our first time at Trinity Groves and I was hoping we wouldn't be caught up in the lunch rush. LUCK was the only place in the block of restaurants that had a packed patio, but luckily there were two seats at the bar that were open and we didn't have to wait to be seated. Hubby ordered The Burger and I ordered the Housemade Pastrami. Then we sat, and sat and sat and sat...for exactly 55 minutes before we got our food. We even had the bartender go check on it a couple of times. We would see her walk over to the window, look at the line of orders, and come back and tell us our food was still not ready. Yep, I can see that. After an hour, we were so hungry we ate The (burnt) Burger and the cold yet dry and overcooked Pastrami sandwich. Given the packed patio and stellar reviews, I am attributing our experience to a fluke of the lunch rush and highly understaffed kitchen. Hopefully management can get their logistics down!

Met another foodie friend here for lunch. The atmosphere is great. It was a beautiful day outside and although we didn't eat outside the open air concept made it ideal for a nice breeze without needing sunglasses. Had bierrocks and they were great. It's pub food - it went great with my IPA. The pastrami was delicious, if a little on the smokey side. The pot roast was great but I would have liked to know the potatoes and Brussels sprouts were cooked in bacon because I can't eat pork. If it was on the menu I missed it. My only real complaint was split plate charge. My friend and I order a "sharable" app and 2 entrées and because we shared everything they charged us a split plate charge. REALLY??? 2 people = 2 entrées. We weren't trying to cheat the system - we just wanted to try multiple things. I just thought it was absurd. Food, atmosphere = great Common sense = ?

Went at lunch and sat out at the picnic tables on the patio. We went early, so there was still parking, but it goes fast! I ordered the romaine salad with the jalapeno buttermilk dressing, along with smoked chicken and it was wonderful. The combination of everything, including those pickled onions was perfect. But oh so spicy, in a good way. Loved it. My friend had the burger and it was cooked as ordered and she said it was really good. We shared dessert - the blueberry lemon bread pudding. Oh my, it was wonderful. The waitress suggested a side of the beer ice cream and it did indeed taste like beer - bitter beer. The texture was so creamy, but I couldn't get past the bitter beer flavor. I'll order the bread pudding again, but not the ice cream. Since it was lunch and we had to go back to work, we didn't order beer, but they had a great selection and I would go back to try something else and a special beer. Service was OK. Waitress was nice, but never checked back on our water glasses. I imagine the service would be a little lacking if it were much busier. We'll be back!

Luck. How I adore thee? Why can't you be within walking distance? Beer and food (considering it is kinda/sorta bar food) are phenomenal. Personally, I prefer the dinner menu versus the lunch (meaning the sandwiches), but wouldn't turn my nose up to anything. Beer rocks. Even if you're aren't an enormous white onion fan (like myself) are darn tasty. I've tried the burger (above average) and still have sweet dreams about the pot roast... Desserts were bueno, but I barely remember what we ordered. Thinking it was a brownie something with beer ice cream? It needed more umph and I've had better beer ice cream. Da place if you want casual with lots of yummy beer!

We went to yoga on the bridge and walked over to this place. The waitress was super nice! We got delicious food. We had the pretzels, the watermelon/spinach salad and the okra to share. the Okra was awesome!!! The food and beer was reasonably priced for a little place like this. This area is super cute!

This is a great place if you enjoy beer -- most are $5, and they have lots of local Texas beers on tap. One star for that and for their house-made potato chips that came with my burger, which were yum. My husband and I split the "blueberry and raw butternut squash salad" to start. Oh, and we were charged a surprise $2 "split plate" charge because they brought it out on two plates. WTF. We didn't need two plates, and we weren't asked for our preference. That's a dick move, LUCK. Not to mention that the salad wasn't even very good -- I think I saw four blueberries and a few meager shavings (yes, shavings) of butternut squash. Couldn't even taste it. A few meager bites of goat cheese as well, and the candied pecans? I think I found one. My husband had the shrimp & grits, which he enjoyed but definitely was overpriced -- I think there were maybe four shrimp on top of a small serving of grits. Come on, the profit margin they're pulling there is insane, and you can get better shrimp & grits almost anywhere else (including at home). I had the burger, which was cooked to order but pretty bland and tasteless. Oh and if that was a brioche bun, I'm a monkey's uncle. Maybe they were out and thought I wouldn't notice.

The two stars are for the food. I went here with five other ladies around 11:30 on a Thursday for lunch. The first thing we saw when we filed in the front door was the terrified-looking waiter. He seemed worried about the size of our party and actually exclaimed "Oh my god!" I told him not to worry, we were only six, but that didn't seem to calm him down any. Although the dining room was only half full, the hostess told us we had to sit outside. The freaked-out waiter very pointedly ordered us to sit "over there," as in, not in his section. Apparently a party of six was too much for him to handle. For a place that calls itself "LUCK - Local Urban Craft Kitchen" I'd expect they would be a little more prepared to handle the "Urban" business lunch crowd. The patio is nice, but there are no ceiling fans. And they NEED ceiling fans, because the entire area was absolutely swarming with flies and it got hot and muggy fast. A girl only has two hands to fan herself, sometimes she needs a little help! It was about 10 minutes before our waitress Amber (who seemed to be the only competent, if slow, staff member) came out to tell us that water was on the way. Why the water was on the way, rather than magically appearing the moment I sat down like at any other restaurant, is beyond me. Most of us ordered tea, but when someone tried to order a diet Coke Amber let us know that they have no diet drinks. All their soft drinks are locally made colas. I guess that's the "Local" in LUCK. The concept is cool, but sometimes you really just want those artificial sweeteners. Another 10 or so minutes rolled by before Amber returned with our teas and to take our orders. A friend ordered the burger, and Amber specifically asked her what condiments she wanted on the side--my friend ordered mayo. Around 12:30--after we'd been there for nearly an hour--I got antsy waiting for my food. I noticed that the rest of the patio had filled up, but only two other tables had food. It looked like there was only one person bringing out the food, plate by plate. Maybe that's the "Craft" in LUCK? Each plate is individually crafted and delivered, just for you! Personally, I wouldn't mind if LUCK invested in some trays so we could all get our food at the same time. At one point the solo food crafter-deliverer came out with three plates. He stopped at one table. Not their food. He stopped at another table. Not their food. He stopped at a third table. Not their food. He went inside. He came back out. He stopped at the table right next to us. Not their food. Finally, after taking these plates to no less than four other tables, he came to us. Hallelujah! It's our food! So now, an hour after sitting down, we finally get to see what the "Kitchen" in LUCK is all about. Most of us dove right in because we were starving--all except the burger friend. The mayo that Amber made a point to ask about never made it to the crafted burger plate. All in all, the food was good. My hot chicken was yummy, but way too greasy. The breading slid right off and the toast the chicken was sitting on turned into a greasy sponge. The pozole looked good, if not particularly authentic. The burger, once it finally got its mayo, got good feedback, and the homemade potato chips that came with it were delicious. Honestly, the best looking plate among us was the watermelon and goat cheese salad. The greens and veggies looked bright and fresh. I never thought I would envy a salad, but if I could have traded it for my soggy, grease-logged chicken, I would have. This spot has potential, but the service needs some major help and the food is nothing to write home about yet. I'd say my LUCK was good, not great.

Jamie and I did our first joint trip to Trinity Groves for lunch this morning, on a perfect Spring morning. We had our sites set on Sushi Bayashi, but it was closed at 11:20 when we got there, not open 'til noon, bummer. It was about 65 degrees and breezy, perfect porch dining weather for this strip of restaurants with spacious outdoor seating. We wandered around window shopping for our next choice, and ended up at Luck, which had at least 75% of all Trinity Groves lunch patrons eating there, in stark contrast to the dead empty Souk next door. The patio was on its way to being packed, and rock music was blaring (a bit too loud for my sensibilities). We opted for a burger and a bowl of red chile posole to share, and they were both excellent. The medium-ordered came out a perfect medium rare, which suited me just fine (compromise sharing order was medium), and it was flavorful and toothsomely (roughly) ground, on a lovely toasted brioche bun. The homemade chips were a nice crunchy counterpoint. The posole was spicy, well endowed with tender pork, and nicely garnished with cabbage and radish slices. I've been in Santa Fe about a dozen times in my life, and this slightly thinner, bothier version was as tasty as any I recall eating. All local premium pints are priced at $5, a refreshing change from typical local beer price gouging. For my sensibilities, $15 for the loaded burger and $9 for a small bowl of posole is aggressively priced, but that was not keeping anybody from eating there ( the busiest place in Trinity Groves by far when we were there), and the food was delicious and mindfully prepared. Nonetheless, a big, generous bowl of posole would have pushed my review to a 5 star. It's an inexpensive dish to make, and there's no reason to be skimpy when serving it up.

Luckily, the day I came here was gorgeous outside, so we chose to sit outside. I'm not that into beer so I decided to get a cider. There were only 2 choices so when I asked the waitress what the difference was, no joke, she described it spot on. She described one as having a little bit of a wine taste and the other (which was hoppy? hopped?) as sweet with a hint of bitterness. She let me taste both and I decided on the latter which I was satisfied with. Our table ordered the bierocks. I don't know if it was because I was starving or what, but they were absolutely delicious! They're essentially small bread balls with meat in the middle that you can dip with the sauces. Very unique and delicious appetizer! Because of Yelp, I decided to try the pastrami sandwich. I haven't had much pastrami sandwiches in my life, but I was really impressed with this one. The meat was very tender and juicy and had a lot of flavor to it! They made sure to put in a good amount of meat too, and I was able to take half the sandwich home. My only complaints were that we never got any waters and that I was charged more for my drink. Basically, if they run out of something on the drink menu, they have a separate menu that includes drinks to replace those drinks. The cider I ordered was from the replacement menu and it said $5 but I got charged $7. When I asked the waitress about it, she said they typed it wrong and it should be $7. Whether you made a mistake or not, that's the restaurant's fault and I feel like I should've been honored the $5 price. Whatever, I'm probably just being cheap.

Holy pastrami sandwich, Batman!!! My only complaint about LUCK is that it is SOOOOOO damn impossible to decide between the pastrami or the tongue sandwich!!! And about that, I just looked at the Spring '15 menu and did NOT see the Torta de Lengua on it. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! If this is true, I will cry. Long and hard. EVERY. THING. IS. GOOD. HERE. GO NOW!!!

I won't lie I like LUCK despite it appearing to my New England quasi-hipster eyes as a total hipster joint (they have needle points of characters from Wes Anderson films on the wall near the bathrooms...doesn't get much more hip than that). Butcher block tables, paper towel holders on the table, and feed sack seats just added to it. Why did I come here? BEER. And BEER ICE CREAM. So the menu doesn't have a heck of a lot on it if you don't eat beef, just to forewarn those who are thinking this would be a great place based on the beers alone. I ended up getting the market catch which at the moment is Mahi Mahi tacos with a cilantro lime rice. The mahi mahi was shredded and mixed with siracha and pickled veggies and served on double corn tortillas. Only thing that would have made these even better? Avocado. The majority of the menu is focused on barbecue like items, and some sandwich classics. I had a few pints and was astonished when I received my bill and all the pints were $5. Craft beer for $5? Pinch me.

Been here twice now. Sat outside once, sat inside once. First time there, around May before it got very hot, I had a spring salad with blueberries there and it was drenched in balsamic vinaigrette, soggy and awful. It was breezy outside so everything had to be held down. The second time, indoors, I got the shrimp and grits. It was good, with the fried egg on top. My partner ordered the special which was some sort of brisket sliders and hand made "fries". The fries were handmade potato chips, and they had exactly zero flavor and oily. They would have been better off with bag chips. Service was decent. Food is inconsistent and not inexpensive so they've got some work to do before I make another visit.

LUCK lives up to its great reviews! All beers on draft have been brewed within 75 miles of the restaurant. If it's still around, get the bourbon barrel-aged stout. Delicious! Appetizers: the pozole had just the right amount of spice, but the beer rocks stole the show. Three per order and good for sharing. Salads\Entrees: blueberry salad was good, but probably better on a summer menu. The pork schnitzel was crispy and tender. It was fantastic with the red cabbage and the herb spoetzl; I couldn't stop eating it! Everyone's favorite though was the torta de lengua. So tender and flavorful. Don't let the fact that it is tongue deter you. You won't be disappointed! Service was great! Excellent all around!

After reading a few reviews and having so any options to pick from here we decided to come here. We tried the burger which was good and the pozole which was very flavorful! Pork was cooked to perfection and the favor was amazing. I had the a pastrami and it was delicious . Defiantly a good place to enjoy lunch!

They say they have the best pastrami sandwich ever? I don't know what my fellow yelpers are thinking. This is little more than grease with bread and pastrami. I held up the sandwich with my fingers to eat, and watched the grease dripping steadily from the sandwich to the plate. I placed the sandwich back on the plate. My fingers were shining with grease. Wiped my fingers on three napkins, started the process again. Drip, drip. I gave up. They boxed the remaining sandwich to take with us. We threw it into the trash can outside. Goodbye grease. If this is what the Trinity Grove is "incubating," they're missing something truly fundamental. BTW, the place was practically deserted on Sunday for brunch, that tells you something.

I live in Bishop Arts, and continue to rave about all the great spots opening up in the nearby Trinity Groves area. My boyfriend and I stopped by Luck Friday night of opening week. There was a good crowd - probably 12 people or so milling at the bar, every table inside was taken, and there were a few people outside on a cool/misty night. We waited at the bar for about 30 minutes, and had a few beers. Nice surprise: all beers were $5. Pretty good for local craft beers. Once we were sat, we tried to get the bier rocks, but they were out. No big deal - went with the pretzels instead. Nice bread, salty taste, and they came with mustard sauce and a cheesy sauce. For our entrees, my boyfriend went with the ribs, which came with a nice serving of some sort of kidney bean/potato casserole looking thing, and collard greens. I had the shrimp off the shared plates menu - which was a bit spicier than I thought it would be. The orange sauce on top had a great taste, but had a decent kick to it. Definitely will be back! The beer really did it for us, especially if it stays at that price. Maybe it was an opening week treat. The patio will be fun once the weather agrees again. I'm looking forward to a happy hour there!

Amazing food and local brewed beer. Great patio with live music!! Salads are fresh with local produce, spicy smoked chicken wings on steroids, and fried green tomato appetizer was a new twist on a Southern classic!

went back with 5 other diners and ate outdoors again - Food again was spectacular ( Pastrami sand.+ watermelon+jicama salad that was great on a hot day!) and the flies are GONE (!!) - there are now outdoor ceiling fans and tis will help in Texas with our "west Nile" possibilities. I am amazed at the good management and wait staff here. I think I will be a regular now.

Busy Saturday night and was told wait was 45-60 minutes. No problem - plenty of nearby places to get a drink while waiting. Here we are, three hours later, and still no text.

Pretzels were delicious, especially that beer cheese sauce. I could of have just that all night. The staff seemed pretty cool, our particular waitress was kind of slow and disinterested though. Food was heavy. Felt like bar food, but it was good nonetheless.

Found out about this place because Bishop Cider Co was the featured drink at LUCK's Tuesday Pint Night, and had been wanting to try it out. Parking was very easy, free and close. We had great weather so chose the patio which had live acoustic music, a covered awning that still let a nice breeze through, fun lighting and large bench-style tables. Peaked at the inside space, but didn't really see it. We had already ate, so only had a cider and the beer flight. Will definitely come back again!

I went here a couple weeks ago with a buddy. I initially ordered the Focaccia Sandwich but they were all out. Why is that? It's because this place is doing WAY more business than they expected out the gates. It is by far the most popular restaurant in Trinity Groves and rightfully so. I had never had bierocks before but I ordered them here and they did not disappoint. For the main course I ended up with the pork schnitzel, which frankly I didn't even know what it was when I ordered it....it's breaded pork (one could say chicken fried pork) and it was great. My buddy ordered the pot roast which he enjoyed. For desert I ordered the brownie topped with beer ice cream. The brownie was like heaven. Soft warm moist yumminess. I'm not a beer drinker but I couldn't pass up the opportunity for the beer ice cream. It definitely tastes like beer. If you like beer I'm sure you will love it. If not, then it is similar to coffee ice cream with beer instead of coffee. Anyways, I plan to come back often. Unfortunately, this place has quite the following already and gets quite packed. So I would suggest going during off hours or on off days. Me and my other buddy tried to go on a random weeknight (like 7pm) and the wait was 45 minutes. Fortunately, if you don't want to wait there are 5 other restaurants open in trinity groves that you can walk to and there are more opening soon!

My husband and I went here for a late lunch. It wasn't busy yet we had to wait for 25 minutes before getting sat. We sat at the bar while waiting for a table and I was impressed with the local craft brews and the nice artwork on their growlers. The ambiance was really nice along with the picnic tables outside on the patio. The food did not impress us. I wanted to try the Red Chile Pozole and they did not have it. I got the Watermelon and Jicama salad and my husband got the Pot Roast. The Pot Roast was $18 which was overpriced for the quality and quantity. I The Pot Roast was small, dry, lacked sauce and the brussel sprouts and hash looked like it was the picked on pile from the pot it came from. The server only came by three times and we had to wait for extra sauce for my husband's pot roast. I would like to try other places now at Trinity Groves but Luck will likely something that I would skip except for their beer selection. I was disappointed and I'm usually pretty generous with my reviews.

The best craft beer selection in DFW. Any kind you want and it's all local. The appetizers are good too. I'll be back for a full meal.

The smoked chicken wings were good, but could not taste the habanero glaze? Also tried the pastrami sandwich with homemade potato chips- both on point. The Pozole and Pot roast were just OK. I was really disappointed with the service. Our wings came out but didn't get plates until 10 mins later. Great beer selection but my glass was rather warm. Life is too short to drink warm beer. Then our entrees came out before the soup! I'd be back for the food if the service wasn't so bad.

I'm a big fan and am constantly promoting the Trinty groves area due to restaurants like Luck which may be my favorite. They has a great Texas beer selection of 43 beers on tap from all over the state. They also smoke their meat in their kitchen which comes out great every time. We've been here a handful of times but recently came when they only had 20 minutes until close. We were worried we wouldn't be able to order food or drinks and our waiter was more than helpful in getting both out to us. I had the brisket pastrami and it might be some of the best brisket I've ever had. Highly recommended due to service, food and atmosphere. I'm proud to be from Dallas where places like trinity groves exist.

This is definitely one of my new go to spots in the DFW area. I was extremely impressed with their emphasis on supporting the local craft brew scene. 40 taps, and everything on the wall is from the craft breweries within 75 miles from their location. That covers A LOT of ground, and the selection they had was incredible. I had their Tuna Ceviche, which was very enjoyable. A little bit of creaminess from the avocado, just the right amount of acid. The tuna was obviously extremely fresh and of good quality. On the other hand, the flavor paled in comparison to their smoked brisket pastrami Reuben. OMG. I'm fairly certain that this is going to be the gold standard by which I judge any future Reuben. The pastrami had a very strong smoke flavor (fairly sure its mesquite but I didn't ask), had a nice char crust, was not dry in the slightest....the flavors from the pre-smoking brine were very evident as well. Put that and some carmelized onions on a good seeded rye, and you got yourself an amazing sandwich. I love the atmosphere here too, very industrial look, yet very comfortable at the same time. The "biergarten" patio area was great, however, that accounts for well over half the available seating so once it gets cold, it might be difficult to get a spot. Did also appreciate the fact that they were showing the Penn State game on the TV over the bar :-D

I came here and while back and am just now getting around to the review, FYI. I think this is one of the better restaurants in that line. Most of the crowd hovers around the bar, understandably sampling beer but the food here is inventive and packs a ton of flavor despite some mainstream menu items.

Decided to give LUCK a try after the Moroccan place a few doors down turned us away because we didn't have reservations - the place was pretty empty. The good thing about LUCK is that we were seated immediately. I was disappointed with the wait service, it took nearly 20 minutes after we sat down for a waiter to come and take our drink orders. The place was busy and seemed to only have 4 waiters/waitresses. The food was decent and came out rather quickly after we ordered. I ordered a blueberry and pumpkin squash salad and my date ordered an open faced turkey sandwich. It was an "OK" meal and nothing to really brag about. We were hoping for better. Due to the weather, we weren't able to enjoy the patio area. But it does look promising once the weather warms up a bit. Outside of the initial slow service, I think it would be a decent location for meeting up with a friend for drinks or a light meal. But I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to friends.

Went for lunch on Friday. I had the hot brown and my buddy had the pastrami sandwich. Mine was ok, the pastrami was awesome - more like a brisket sandwich. We started with the pretzels which were soft and hot, delicious cheese dip and grainy mustard made this a win. The service was really slow. We weren't planning on taking a two hour lunch but that's what we got. It took an hour to get our sandwiches out after waiting 30 minutes to have our order taken. Hopefully they can fix this issue because they serve a really good product. Great beer selection too.

Wife and I arrived at 8pm on a Friday, had a 15ish minute wait, which wasn't a problem. Ordered the pretzels as an app, the pork rib plate and the pot roast as entrees. The pork rib plate was the best, loved it. Worth the money and the short trip to the Trinity Groves. Luck is place people should be talking about. Also, get the pork rib plate.

We heard about LUCK through Spike TV ' S Frankenfood, so decided we should give it a go. The restaurant was clean, smelled amazing and the outdoor seating was clean and inviting. The beers are awesome, and the "beer rocks" app was delicious! We tried the frankenfood PB Jellumbo sandwich and I would eat it often! The best dish I ordered was the shortcake with blackberry and peach compote and fresh whipped cream. Perfect summer desert! The beer ice cream in the stout float was delightful and the stout complimented it well. We'll definitely be back.

LUCK overcharged me $ 3 on my credit card on a recent visit. I called them and they said they would take care of it. They did not. I went by to speak to management, and they said they would fix it. They did not. Could have stopped payment through my credit card company, but not worth it for $3. Can only say I will never return. Recommend you use only cash at this establishment. Poor service.

I wanted to try this place out with all the hype. I really liked my little waiter (he was tiny, I could have stuffed him in my pocket). He was respectful and part of the west Dallas neighborhood (Trinity Groves hires first in West Dallas as part of the deal). For a young cat he was hip to convo about changing demographics and the big issue with gentrification. anywho, the beer menu was in size 6 font... seriously? How the hell can i read that? The food was amazingly good... I got a fat sammy that fed me for like 3 days and I appreciate portion sizes that fall in line with the prices. That smokey pulled pork was perfect but I wasn't excited at all by the fried green tomatoes. They weren't soft to cut into and luscious... they were hard and lacked that real flavor. I was sitting at a two top near the host station and they seated this birthday party behind me. You wouldn't believe how disgusted I was when this "larger" woman backed her ass right on me and didn't even notice or say she was sorry. The waiter saw it too... then her friends were all around her and in my space, I had to move my table forward myself. Then ANOTHER ass on my back? What the hell is wrong with people? How do you not notice you backed your ass up on someone? My peev about this? Nothing was said to them or me about the incidents... not a "can you please not invade the table behind you" or a comp on ice cream... something about the layout needs to be worked on so people don't have ass on them. So they lost a star because of size 6 fonts, poor seating design and those fried green tomatoes... sorry. I'll go back, but I'm sitting at a booth... no more ass...

Trinity Groves has a special place in my heart! I love the area and how this area comes to life at night! My wife and I stumbled upon this gem when hanging with some friends on a Sunday evening just hanging out. We stopped by and just wanted a place to chill and have a couple drinks. LUCK was the perfect spot! While we were there we tried the wings, they were great. Highly recommend that everyone tries them. Although we came toward the end of closing we did feel sort of rushed and our server was hardly there and began to get rude. Food - 4, Service 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 2015 We returned, this time the experience MUCH better! This go round we came with a larger party and sat inside and were seated right away. I had the FRESH fried catfish stew (okra, tomato, onions, etc.) which reminded me of gumbo. Very nice size portion. Each plate that came out not only tasted good but the presentation of it all was up to par with a restaurant of this caliber. Service was really good on this visit.

The service was terrible! This was our first and last time here. It took way too long to even get water. We had to finally ask the hostess for water. Our waiter was not attentive. The waiter at the next table over was attentive so it just must have been our waiter. The beer rocks were okay, not anything to brag about. The pastrami sandwich was delish.

I walked around looking in windows and checking the menus. This appears to be a group of restaurants (and a bakery) serving standard to upscale fare at premium prices. Each has a bit of a hook to make them unique. For example, the restaurant I chose, "Luck", has about 50 beers on tap, all brewed by local Texas breweries. The amount of parking suggests that the complex does get busy, or perhaps the designers were just optimists. I saw 3 or 4 places that were open for breakfast and lunch, but the only people inside were employees. The complex was absolutely dead at 4:00 in the afternoon. That may explain the prices, which seemed typical for the complex. The draft beer I ordered came in an 8-12oz "snifter" rather than a pint glass, but was $6. There was a $20 meatloaf entree, and the grilled pastrami sandwich (with chips and a pickle wedge) I ordered for $14 was tasty, and good to the last bite, with melted cheese and grilled onions, but $14 for it? I've paid that much for a sandwich before, and the pastrami was piled so high you couldn't get your mouth around it. Not here. I'd say it's about a $7 sandwich in any less pretentious establishment. Maybe I'm not the target customer? My car is bone stock, and my sunglasses were $5 at a truck stop. Your buying the Nuevo atmosphere here. The cool factor. The diner rush, when I'm sure a good crowd makes it worth the extra $$. At 4:00 in the afternoon, it's just overpriced food.

Attempting to try out all the places in the trinity Groves, LUCK was next on the bucket list. Of all the different places to eat on this side of the street, this one had the most casual feel to it. They have plenty of different beers on tap, and they're all local! The decor inside was really neat with different paintings on the walls the were for sale. The booth benches were neat. Coming in, we were seated and greeted right away. The server was very friendly and we had chatted with her for a while about the whole development of the area. For my entree I had the north Texas hot brown. It was an open face turkey sandwich that came with house made potato chips. The sandwich was delicious, the turkey was really juicy and flavorful; thank gosh cause dry turkey is the worst. The potato chips were just as good, nice and crispy. Overall I really enjoyed this place- good atmosphere, good food and priced just right. I will be back here for sure

Beer I'm not really all that big a beer guy, BUT.... they have a very impressive tap with 40 beers. If that isn't enough for you, well, I don't know. The food here is always tasty. Fresh, well made. I've had a grilled romaine salad that was superb, a steak salad that was yummy. But the big deal here for me is the pastrami. It is frikkin' rockin. Best I've had just about anywhere. Even had it once as a Reuben. Gawd, that was delightful! Bartenders are super knowledgeable and friendly, as are any of the servers I've had. A winner. Cheers!

Great place for a group dinner if you're in the mood for a younger crowd, beer and burgers. They have a wide craft beer menu but only a couple wine options (which may or may not be available) and no hard liquor so make sure everyone is on board for a brew. The Trinity Groves "Culinary Creative Center" seems to have exploded overnight, and some aspects of the development are struggling to catch up (i.e. the half finished chaotic parking lots), but I have yet to have a disappointing experience at any visit, Luck included.

Came for Deep Ellum pint night- LOVE any place that includes local breweries in their service. I was quite impressed with our appetizers, grilled okra- perfect combo of char and bright lemon dressing, and beer rocks- OH MY DEAR HEAVEN. These yeast rolls with flaky sea salt and beer inspired cheese fondue will make your mouth as happy as it can be. Didn't love the choices of entrees- they were decent, just not what we were in the mood for, so we jumped down the row a bit and ate at another establishment. SERVICE CAN BE IMPROVED...hostess was friendly, but a little scattered and server was non enthused and could have really pepped up his descriptions of the menu. With a little work, this place will be a high spot on our rotating dinner nights. Good concept for groups with picnic tables and paper towels on the table...not sure if they were eco-friendly brand.

I love love love their appetizers! Especially their fried okra! Their food is more on the heavier side but that's where all your taste buds starts bursting with joy! I ordered a Rahr and Sons Ugly Pug. One of my favorite local dark beer. It taste pretty much like coffee, so it's like a light dark beer! I ordered their pasta with meat sauce, it looked like a small portion but the sauce was filled with yummy meat and it was very filling. I love their sauce on the pastrami. And the chips that comes with it were very crisp and flavorful. Overall a place people should definitely check out.

Been here twice but it was the second time where I actually got to try their food. I went with a group of 8 and called the place 20 minutes ahead of time so they can kind of "reserve" you a table. They don't do reservations which is totally understandable and I was more than glad when they told me to call 20 minutes before coming so they can put us on a wait-list. When I got there, we had to wait at the bar for a little bit so we checked out some of the drinks they had. What's really cool is that they served local beers and allow you to sample if you just have no idea what to try. After a table opened up, we were seated right away at a comfortable location. The menu is not that extensive making it a little easier to choose the entree. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered the pastrami sandwich to share with my boyfriend. I was really disappointed with the sandwich. It was wayyyy too salty so I couldn't even finished my half of the sandwich that I was already sharing. I think I ate like 1/4 of the sandwich 'cause every time I took a bite, I felt my sodium level rising. Most of my friends weren't too thrilled about their entrees either. Steak from the steak salad was a little too chewy and the lamb chop was alright. Out of all the entrees I sample, I enjoyed the shrimps and grits the best. I did enjoy the mini pretzels appetizer that we ordered as well as the wings and brussel sprouts. But other than that, food was ehh. The first time I went my friend did a beer flight so that was really cool. Overall, the services were great both times and they have a nice selection of beers. LUCK is a nice a place to hang out with friends.

After visiting Four Corners Brewing, we strolled across the parking lot to Trinity Groves to find some grub. We strolled through all of our options (there are many!) and settled on LUCK after realizing that they were the busiest and had a pretty great beer selection (you can never get enough beer). The restaurant inside was packed and there was a wait - luckily, they have community "patio" seating outside (it is covered), where we were able to sit immediately. It was a little cold, but they had ceiling heaters so we didn't even notice the chill in the air. I thought the community aspect was nice, but it wasn't so crowded when we went that it felt overly stuffy or annoying. I ordered the Steak Salad - don't be confused, it is definitely an entree, and the portion was huge. A well cooked, medium rare 10 oz skirt steak + a mixed green/mesclun salad on the side was delicious, and also paleo-friendly (no cheese :)). While I did not indulge on their Pastrami sandwich (which is apparently one of their signature items), I really enjoyed my dinner and even had enough to take home for a late night protein snack. Trinity Groves has a lot to offer and while I've only been to LUCK, I would definitely recommend giving it a try! If you like beer and good eating, check LUCK out.

I am not a big pastrami fan but there pastrami sandwiches are so mouthwatering! They are cooked like brisket-style so its very tender! The waiters are well informed of the menu and make great recommendations. They have lots of flavorful beer, but beer is not my thing. I only wish they had a full bar service. Their appetizers are all equally tasteful as well as their salads. Their pozole soup is one of the best I've had.

I feel so LUCK-y (har!) that I stumbled upon this place in Trinity Groves when Chino Chinatown was full. Have been back since, and you guys, this place is so great. I was a little nervous about the food, but everything I've tried has been delicious upscale pub food - that pastrami sandwich and the beer queso, I can't even. YUM! Beer selection has a lot of local stuff and makes it super fun to try a bunch of different things. I had the Revolver Cinnamon Girl last time and I loved it! The staff is always super cool and laid back, but also they are not 'slackers' - just really helpful and friendly and laid back. I describe this to people as an Austin bar vibe without the hipsters and sloppy UT undergrads - what's not to like??

So tonight was my second encounter with LUCK and I have to say, I'm a fan. Their beer list is all local (from breweries located no farther than 75 miles away!) and range from $5-$10. There's probably about 20 beers on tap so you're sure to find something you love! I ordered the burger - again because it was SO good last time - and added avocado, bacon and jalapeños. It was spectacular! My husband ordered the pastrami sandwich and said it was out of this world good! Our dinner companions ordered the special, some sort of pasta with a meat sauce, and while it was delicious, the portion size and plating left much to be desired. It seemed like there should have been more, or at least bread to accompany the dish. They were a bit disappointed with their choice. Overall, If you're looking for a cool ambience, great food and beer, try your luck with LUCK ;)

Awesome food, and great beer selection! We went early on a Saturday and avoided a wait, but it was still crowded! I love getting beer flights. I told the server what I didn't like (IPAs) and he came back with great choices! Will go again!

In trinity grove area and good atmosphere. Menu is limited and on the heavier/starchy side. The bar only serves beer and 4 wine choices, no mixed drinks

Visited on a Friday late afternoon. Ordered the gateway flight. A couple of selections were decent. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the many beer selections. For dinner I had the north Texas hot brown. It was excellent! The meat had great flavor, the bacon was thick and crisp. The homemade chips were amazingly crispy and not to salty. I gave this spot 4 stars because many of the beers my friends were selecting were not available. The waitress blamed it on the outdated menu - which was printed the day before. Overall great place with great selection of food and drink.

My initial experience at Luck was amazing: 10 course beer dinner on New Year's Eve. The food was delicious and service was great. I couldn't wait to return to try their famous pastrami and bier rocks. And when we did....I was a bit disappointed. Everything seemed to be swimming in grease. But I gave them another try. I don't know if they read my review, or just figured it out on their own (or if they were having a bad day). However, I've now been back multiple times since then and have never had it greasy. The food has been delicious. And now that they've added brunch to their menu....SOLD! This restaurant has become one of the staple restaurants that we go to with guests or if we don't know where else to eat. They're part of the fantastic Trinity Grove complex, which means that in addition to their inside dining, they have use of a wonderful, large patio. All of their beers come from within 75 miles of the restaurant. If you're not sure what you want, they're happy to give you a small sample before you order. (We've done this quite a few times with groups of our beer snob friends and they're always friendly and happy to give recommendations and tastes, to make sure you find the perfect sample.) My recommendation: get the bier rocks appetizer, a salad with tuna added for a main course (to alleviate the bier rocks guilt....or if you have no guilt then the pastrami), then some beer ice cream for dessert. And chase it all down with a local cider or beer that you've never tried before. You can thank me later.

A solid 4 stars. Great location, good food, plentiful beer selection. Service: 5 Polite, attentive, knowledgeable about both the food and beverage selection. Will provide samples of draft beer with a smile. Atmosphere/Locale: 4 Located in Trinity Groves, the location is great with a very hip and urban feel. Indoor seating can be a bit limited and outdoor seating in the patio during the summer can get hot. Food: 4 Smoked wings: 4 I'm a sucker for good wings. These are smoked not fried (which makes them healthy right??) and are covered with a deliciously sweet and sticky sauce. They are served whole (not cut into wings, drumettes, and tips) so they can be a bit cumbersome to eat Beer-rocks: 4 Three pastries filled with meat cheese and served with a fondue dipping sauce. Nice and hearty, goes great with a cold beer. House chips: 4 Generous portion of potato chips, thin cut, perfectly crisp. Very addicting Beer Ice-cream: 4.5 Probably not for kids. A nice adult twist to what can be everyday ice-cream. The version I had was made with some sort of cream stout which had a very smooth finish. Value: 4 There's plenty to choose from at Trinity Grooves, but Luck has reasonable prices on New-American pub/bar food with a pretty large beverage selection.

Overall, the concept is great. Local food, local beer, good atmosphere, and nice outdoor space. My date and I each had a beer. Both were served too warm for my taste. We had the fried green tomato appetizer which was disappointingly lacking in flavor. I had the signature pastrami sandwich which was very tasty and my date had the pot roast which was also quite nice. Overall, I would go back but they need to work out some kinks for it to be a local favorite.

Came here to grab a quick bite with the hubs before heading to the airport. It was super windy and chilly out so I wanted something hot. I was stoked to try their posole, but they ran out. Then I asked for a decaf coffee since they have coffee on their menu, and they didn't have that either so I settled for hot water. Our server recommended the pastrami sandwich, which we split. It was really tender and yummy! The trinity grove plaza is pretty cool with lots of outdoor seating. LUCK also had several local craft beers on tap which was nice since we didn't see many Texan beers while in town. Although our server was attentive and pretty cool, I'm giving 3 stars since a) they didn't have posole or decaf, which I really wanted and b) we were charged an extra $2 to split our plate. I know it's not uncommon for restaurants to do that, but it would have been nice if he had let us know of the extra charge and ask us if it was ok. Other than that, pretty cool spot. I'd come back for more pastrami!

Such a fantastic venue whether you want to sit outside and lounge or the comforts of air conditioning, this "All Local" establishment hosts to an array of local brews and wine as well as anyone In the area. The view of the Dallas Skyline doesn't hurt either. Try the NTX Hot Brown! If you're a fan of the original KY style you'll appreciate the variety!

Disappointed with luck. Charred Okra was well flavored, however I had the bowl of red Chile and was not happy with the flavor or texture. It was highly watery (?) chile and the hominy didn't do much for the dish. Friend had the cheeseburger, he was happy and I had a bite. Cheeseburger was run of the mill, nothing to write home about. I had never been to Trinity Grove, I enjoyed the establishment. I would go back to LUCK for a burger, not bad not good. Maybe I need to try the Grits & Shrimp and re-review.

Great location awesome selection of beer. Food is pretty good too. Beer is at a good price but the food is a little over priced. I had the lengua torta which took me by surprise that they were serving not only Mexican sandwiches but cow tongue. The tongue was clean the bread and toppings were good. I got to give it to them Im not a fan of sweet potato anything but the sweet potato chips are crazy good. They might surprise you how good they are. Definitely check this place out again.

We didn't have much luck at LUCK. We had a hard time even understanding the concept of this restaurant as the food is all over the map. They have German dishes like pork schnitzel, southern dishes like pot roast, a Cajun dish of shrimp and grits, a Kentucky fav dish...a few bar food staples, extensive beer list, yet no liquor. They love to cook with beer...that is clear. Beer cheese dips, beer battered dessert, another beer battered menu item I can't remember. They DONT, for whatever reason, like to cook with SEASONING. I tasted the homemade chips on one friends plate and they were bland...couldn't even detect a grain of salt. I also tried another friends chipotle potato salad and it tasted only of potatoes, mayo and onions - no Chipotle or any other seasonings to be found. Blandest potato salad I've ever tasted. And that salad accompanied the most dried up, smoked to death chicken. My only 4 leaf clover were the bierrocks app and my pork schnitzel. Service? Slow and spotty...I never received ONE drink refill...server also missed our order to get one of all the appetizers. .she brought out 2 of the 4 and then we got our entrees. Think I'll be back? Don't push your luck, LUCK. I'm going next door.

Definitely had a great birthday dinner for our friend here last night! Awesome urban atmosphere, love the details in every corner of this place! Foods are absolutely delicious and highly recommended! And for bonus, just walk around outside after meal and you'll have a great view of Margaret Hunt Bridge plus the overlooking gorgeous view of Downtown Dallas!

Loved this place. Very cool urban kitchen with a great vibe and equally great menu. Ordered the following and it was delicious: Bierocks (meat and cheese pastries with beer cheese fondue......amazing) Blueberry & Raw Butternut Squash Salad (easily one of the best salads I've ever had) Signature Pastrami (can I just say.....holy hell, this was good, and by far my favorite item on the menu) Highly recommended.

Many of my friends really enjoy LUCK. The local consensus is to get the house made pastrami. I first visited LUCK for a business lunch and had the buttermilk salad with seared ahi tuna. It was very good. After all the hype, I was unimpressed. The place was packed for a lunch rush, and the staff was overwhelmed. The dining room was a little dirty. The patio, and this is true for all of the Trinity Grove spots, is the best bet weather permitting. Forty well curated taps. A nice bar. I will be back for the pastrami as I have a weakness for it. But so far, LUCK seems a bit lackluster.

Food was good, and that's the only reason I'm giving it two stars. The service was enough to turn us away for good. After looking over the food and beer menus, we decided we would take our time and enjoy a few beers, an appetizer, a meal, and some dessert. The bier rocks were really good. Probably would have preferred to have one or two more on the plate, considering we ordered them to share. I overheard the lady at the next table express a similar opinion. My husband ordered a Kolsch, which they were out of, so he chose a different Kolsch, while I ordered Allergeez from 4 Corners. Before ordering a second beer, I tried my husband's and decided that I would order it the next round. When the waiter came back my husband said "I'll take another Kolsch", to which I added "I'll take a Kolsch as well" (details are important, I promise). The waiter brings back two beers that are caramel in color, which we are both puzzled by, since Kolsch is a very light golden color. My husband tries the beer (after immediately finishing his first beer) and tells the waiter "That's not the same beer I just had". The waiter argued that it was the same beer, "Remember, I told you we were out of the Kolsch, so I brought you this one instead, the blonde." This went back and forth, a couple of times. I chimed in after tasting mine, adding that it very obviously was not a Kolsch, and we had both specifically asked for a Kolsch. More arguing from the waiter. So he took it back to the bartender. My husband, who was facing the bar, watched as the waiter told the rest of the waitstaff, hostesses, bartenders, and managers about the debacle while they all stared at our table. Not at all making our dining experience uncomfortable. He brought back the exact same blonde ale, claiming it was the same beer he served my husband the first time, adding "I looked in the system, this is what I rang up the first time". Then the manager comes over... "How is everything tonight? Is there an issue with the beer?" At which point my already extremely frustrated husband told him "I've already told the waiter, this is not the same beer he served me originally, but it's fine. We'll drink it and be done." So much for ordering dessert! The entire experience was ruined by the constant arguing from the waiter. At some point, someone should have stepped in (maybe after we'd said the word "KOLSCH" 10,000 times) and said "Here, how about a tasting of our Kolsch? Would you like me to get you one of those instead?" or "Here's something we have that's similar to a Kolsch, would you like to try it?" Problem solved. But unfortunately that was not the case. And if by some stroke of luck he had in fact served my husband a blonde ale instead of the Kolsch he ordered the first time, why wouldn't he say something when he served it, or before taking it upon himself to bring him a completely different type of beer? Why wouldn't he say something to BOTH of us after we both specifically ordered a Kolsch? To top it all off, when we received our check, listed at the very top was an order for 1 Kolsch beer. Below it, 2 blond ales. We pointed it out to the waiter, and AGAIN, more arguing, "No we were out of that one". To which my husband responded "Then why did you charge me for it?" This time his argument was "The system was wrong, bro." Word of advice, never call a customer "bro". With that, we immediately left... for good.

The food here is amazing. I ordered the, wait for it, bread pudding french toast. It was insane. Then got the chilaquiles - also amazing. I forget this place is here, surprised it wasn't busier. Best place I've eaten in Trinity Groves thus far.

My husband and I went here last Saturday afternoon, and were seated by the hostess. We mentioned upfront we'd be ordering food and drinks, and were told someone would be with us in a moment. We waited over 25 MINUTES without anyone coming to our table to so much as greet us or take a drink order. This was during a steady but not-busy time. There were several empty tables, and the tables around us who DID have people at them, were visited several times by servers. I attempted to make eye contact with the hostess who had seated us, and she saw us but just kept standing there thumbing menus (again, she wasn't busy) rather than get somebody. After all this time of sitting there drinking water, super hungry, and listening to people around us order food and sip their beer, we finally just got up and left. Never did see our server or have the chance to order anything. On our way out, I passed the hostess and told her no one had visited our table in all that time so we were just going to leave. Her response was, "Oh, ok, are you sure?" just like that. No apology or anything. Assuming we didn't have leprosy and my seersucker sundress wasn't offensive, I can only assume the management is so disorganized that they didn't assign tables correctly and no one thought we were their responsibility. Still, the fact that no one bothered to ask and the hostess didn't care to find out where the server was, is inexcusable. If you want anything other than hunger pains and some ice water, go elsewhere.

I ended up at LUCK with friends after a conference. We're from out of town and the place had good reviews so we decided to give it a try. We immediately ordered the wings after seeing a giant plate of them pass our table. We were not disappointed! They were flavorful and delicious with just a small hint of chili. We also ordered the beer rox, small pastry puffs of meat. Although they were tasty, especially with the beer cheese sauce, it was a little disappointing because there were only three of them. A friend ordered a pint special, $5 and you keep the mug, which was a great deal. For the entree, I ordered the shrimp and grits which comes with a fried egg on top. Lots of flavor, the shrimp, grits, and egg were cooked well, however I felt like there was a lack of texture in the dish because everything was soft and mushy. Two friends ordered the steak salad, a good portion size with plenty of fresh greens, and the skirt steak was juicy and there was plenty of it. The other two ordered a pastrami sandwich and the catfish plate. The pastrami sandwich had bits of moist brisket and was gobbled up along with the catfish. So, I'd say they definitely enjoyed their dishes. On the downside, they had "sold out" of wine and it was barely 6 pm. However, they do offer plenty of beer choices at a great price. Overall, the food was good and the staff was attentive and friendly.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried to food but love the concept. Had lunch at Babbs Bros across the street and then stopped into Luck for a beer. As a big fan of local brews, this place is as good as it gets. Huge selection exclusively of beers brewed within 75 miles. Bartender was extremely knowledgable of the selection and was very helpful. This place is definitely making its way into our office happy hour rotation. Can't wait for a nice day to sit out on the patio.

First visit won me over and I'll be back to try a few more menu items. From reading up on LUCK before visiting, they use local grown when they can get it, serve grass-fed burgers and many local brew beer options. A few other menu items that peaked my interest included the pot roast with potato hash and pork schnitzel with cabbage.. I passed someone that had chopped brussel sprouts that looked pretty friggin tasty too.. not to mention beer ice cream.. pretty much everything on the menu outside the beef tongue sounded belly loving awesome. Friend enjoyed their turkey sammich and the other Bier Rocks.. rolls stuffed with beef mixture and a few dipping sauces.. the beer cheese sauce was a nice addition to my bacon cheddar burger :) We had a great waiter, wish I had gotten his name. He was well informed, had menu items down and answered our questions without hesitation. Food came out hot and quick, generous serving but not ridiculously large either. Place is on the intimate side but also has a wonderful outdoor patio with lights in the trees, really pretty on this beautiful eve. Look forward to next visit already!

Great beer selection & 2 tap wines if you're not much of a beer drinker. Great patio spot! I had the Grilled Romaine & Roasted jalepeño buttermilk dressing +Seared Tuna on top. Tuna was a bit fishy, but overall good dish! I highly recommend the Signature Pastrami! 'Texas Brisket Style' Our server, Christy were great! Great servers don't get enough credit. Host seemed annoyed when we didn't want to share a long table outside with a party of 4. I'm always down for #newfriends, but it made more sense for us to sit with the table next to them, which had a party of 2 at one end and so we could have space in between. YET, I've hosted before so I was definitely THAT picky person this time. #sorrybutimnotsorry

LUCK (and trinity groves in general) complete my life! LUCK has all locally grown food and serves craft beer brewed within 90 miles of the restaurant. I've gone here a few times and always get the beer flights to try different beers. It's a lot of fun. The pastrami sandwich is absolutely delicious and goes great with the flights! My only complaint would be that they don't have many options on the menu, but then again what they make they make right! The restaurant is really laid back with large garage style window that they open up on nice days. They also have a huge patio that connects to a number of other restaurants in the area. It really is a great atmosphere for a night out and each of the surrounding restaurants has a different theme and environment so we walked around a while after dinner. There is also a really cool walking bridge that goes over the Trinity River near by. Great place for a date night!

Um. Yum. Loving what they've done with Trinity Groves project. So many amaze places coming through and Luck is just perfect for Dallas! It's a fun place, looks somewhat of a warehouse - very rustic. It's a busy restaurant, does some dang good business! We went on a Wed night once and there was a 30 minute wait, so we decided to sit at the bar. We loved it. The menu isn't huge, but I don't mind. Goes to show you you don't need a big menu to make good food. Luck is not a diet friendly place, Luck is a yummo place. Screw you portion size! You don't know me!!! Sorry. Delicious ingredients, not to mention everything on their menu is from Texas!! Beer and wine only, but again, all from Texas. The beer list is extensive and lots to choose from! Yeehaw! We've started with the beer rocks (cheese and meat filled stuffed bread)...it comes with a tasty jus and then a spicy mayo sauce! We've also had the fried shrimp, which is so delicious! If they had this dish as an entree size, I would order and not share. Lay off... The shrimp and grits is probably some of the best I've ever had. SSU egg on top and the flavors are unreal. Spicy, savory and def a good dish to share if you wanted to just get a bunch of entrees! The pastrami sandwich is another solid win. Big thick cuts of meat on a delicious sourdough (I think) bread and served with their house made potato chips (tip: save the spicy mayo from the beer rocks to dip your chips in....you're welcome). I've also had the fish and chips, spicy redfish....so good! Not overly fried and gross...good size also to share! MP has had the pork schnitzel and loved loved loved it! Service has always been spot on! They are super friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions....we all know MP asks a ton of them! They also have an incredible patio, can't wait to pass out on it when it gets warmer!! Park on the backside on the Groves, always so much parking and you can walk through the complex and see all the cool new things to come! Do you feel LUCK-y? I do. Daily. Bam!

More like a 3.5. LUCK was my first experience in Trinity Groves. It has a rustic feel, an impressive beer menu, and more than several good dishes. Service kind of ruined our first experience here. I would recommend the Bierocks as a starter. The bread is soft and warm, and it's filled with meat and cheese. I was very careful with it because I was afraid it'd burn my flesh and soul like a hot pocket would, but it wasn't THAT hot. You can dip it in cheese fondue or au jus (the meat's natural juices from cooking). Both are delicious! SHRIMP & GRITS: very good flavor. The shrimp was very "bouncy" and crunchy when you bite into it. Not what I expected, and I think the texture kind of turned me off initially, but the green onions, fried egg, and grits really drew me back in. LENGUA BURGER: It has a lot of flavor, but the meat is a bit dry. RED CHILE POZOLE: We ordered the cup, but it came in a big dish. Not sure if we were served the right size, but we got charged for the cup... if that's a cup, then that's a really good size for $5! It was also rich with flavor. Every single dish settled pretty heavily in our stomachs. Come here if you're REALLY hungry. SERVICE: Kind of sucked, actually. Our girl acted like it was so busy, but she had maybe 2 tables... She didn't even fill my water or approach my table until the rest of my group sat down. When we asked what she recommended us to drink, she replied, "Beer!" and walked away. When asked, "What does cold brewed coffee on nitrogen tap mean?" she replied, "Oh yes, it's coffee, cold brewed, and it comes on a nitrogen tap." And she also forgot a drink order.

Hit the spot. On another day, it may have been a 4.0-4.5, but today...LUCK was exactly where we needed to be. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to enjoy their ridiculously huge and awesome patio. But, we were promptly seated at a great table which is where the awesomeness began. We started with beer (duh)...they serve only local beers - but only the good ones! And also ordered the fried green tomatoes and wings to start (see photo). The fried green tomatoes were excellent. They would have been great even without the Texas caviar (maybe an aioli with a little spice?)...but we're very tasty nonetheless. The wings were fantastic. They were crispy and flavorful without the unnecessary heat that normally accompanies the wing (and makes your lips want to fall off). For the entree, we were really hoping for the PB & Jellumbo Shrimp Banh Boy (sounded SO yummy - but only served M-Th), but settled for the Pastrami. OMG...best pastrami ever! I meant to get a picture, but was too busy stuffing my face! Overall, service was a 5...beer was a 5...food was a 6. I'm coming back for that sandwich!

First off - absolutely awesome beer selection! And all on tap. Nuf said. I guess I should mention the awesome patio and delicious food. I had the grilled romain salad with pulled chicken which had delicious rip tomatoes and crunchy pepitos. Husband got the pastrami because it was highly recommended by the waitress and it was very tender and moist - there were a couple chunks of fat in there but so it goes. The homemade chips were addictive and even better with some of the dressing from my salad! Will definitely make "the trip" back - trinity groves is so close to downtown Dallas it's crazy!

Such a great lunch spot. Fantastic sandwiches and local brews make this place wonderful. They have a dog/kid friendly patio too. The only downfall was our server went MIA for a while and getting our bill was difficult but man that pastrami sandwich was amazing and I LOVED my baked chicken with collard greens and beer dressing. Go. You won't regret it. Promise.

A nice little spot for grabbing a local pint or fill a growler with some pretty good eats along the way. I was impressed to find a craft beer hall taking advantage of growler fills. I can hardly remember how many times I was at the Ginger Man wishing I could take that beer home with me. LUCK is only local Texas craft beers and ciders though. You won't be finding anything from Colorado or anything like that. Thank goodness that Texas has become such a hub for the craft beer scene otherwise their selection would leave me wanting more. The food is what you would expect from a modern beer kitchen with an emphasis Texas southern influences. Funnel cakes, beef tongue, and shrimp with grits in a nutshell. All are very delicious and exceeded our expectations. The service was good. When we venture into a new restaurant and are unsure of the waiter situation, we like to sit at the bar. No matter what there will be someone there and you have a less chance of getting a Houdini waiter. The bar tender was very knowledgeable and friendly letting us try samples of beers before committing to a full glass. We will definitely be back since the beer selection changes often.

Wow. After a tour of the Four Corners Brewery, which was amazing in itself, our friend DR recommended we try Luck for a late lunch. As we walked up to the some of the new, hip restaurants that shared space with Luck, we couldn't help but notice that Luck's patio was the only one still busy. We were guided by the hostess to one of the outside patio tables as well. We wanted to share our plates so we just went with appetizers. The hickory smoked chicken wings, fried green tomatoes, pretzels and bier rocks hit the table soon after we settled in for a good selection of craft brews. It was all good! My favorites were the wings, of which, I could only eat one. Hickory smoke char with an amazing molasses, Chipotle BBQ sauce made it some of the best wings I've ever had. The fried green tomatoes were on a bed of spicy "Texas Caviar" or black-eyed pea pico salsa for those who don't know that yet. Nice, crisp and a hint of spice they were also nicely done. The pretzels were hand made with a stone ground mustard or a beer cheese dipping sauce. Then, the bier rocks, which were made of the same dough as the pretzels, filled with ground beef and maybe some cheese, they also came with the beer cheese or an au jus. We loved it all. Even better, was that I could take home the leftovers and though full, anticipated finishing off those wings for dinner! Try it, it is something special. Life is too short to eat boring food!

Pretty great beer selection, had a great steak salad with their nitrogen infused cold brewed coffee. Very nice ambient for a Monday night. No wine or liquor sadly.

The food is always amazing and they have 30 local taps. You're paying a premium to be eating Trinity Groves but it's money well spent.

After calling in and speaking with Trent he has refunded the charge and the total since our experience was bad. He stated this was an error by the waiter. He also offered a chance to redeem the restaurant with a complimentary meal. This was a great move on his behalf and I will be going back because of it. As far as the rating I will leave it at a 3 since if I had not check my bank statements I would have lost $50 just like that

Went for a quick dinner before work event on a week night. Sat at the bar, had wings and brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were EXCELLENT. They get 5 stars - absolutely delicious with just the right amount of heat; also perfectly cooked, not mushy. Wings were good but paled in comparison to the sprouts. Server was great at first but went MIA when a single additional person sat at the bar. If she had dropped the check sooner I'd give 4 stars.

Came to LUCK at trinity groves on a whim and I'm very glad we did!!! The service was GREAT! (I really wish I remembered her name to give her kudos!) black hair with purple highlights... Hair braided to the side... Bartender was also great. Food, was even better! We ordered: - Sweet and smoky wings (comes in 5). The wings were exactly "sweet and smoky"! They were deeeeeeeelicious!!! Finger lickin' goooood! The smoky flavor was on point and the sweetness wasn't "too" sweet. It was perfect. - Pretzels with dipping sauce. I don't know where to begin with the 2 dipping sauces they provided but O M G! I mean really, can I have a whole gallon of each?? I want to put them on EVERYTHING! There was a green mustard dip that had a very nice tang to it. It wasn't too spicy, and wasn't too tangy. You just have to go and try it for yourself! The other dip was a mix of cream cheese and Gouda!!! Need I say more?!! Ugh. Oh and PS, all of their sauces are made in-house. makes it that much better! - Charred Okra tossed in a lemon vinaigrette & topped with Parmesan cheese. Perfectly charred and perfectly tossed. Comes with a lemon wedge. Put it all over dem okra. So good. Also, ask for their house made ranch to dip with. Mmmm.. They serve nothing but local beers and all for only $5! That's not even a happy hour price or anything. It's just "Luck." It's just awesome. And cheap. My favorites are the IPA's. After dinner, we went out to their patio and sat on their overly large, red lounge chairs and..... Lounged!! With our beers in our hand, we talked for hours and enjoyed the nice view. Trinity groves has a very nice patio. Big, clean, & spacious...they also have beautiful hanging lights around the trees! Very romantical. Wish I took a picture of my view! ;) Check this place out... You won't regret it, I promise :)

Spectacular beer list and food. The menu is a bit limited for my taste, but my stand by are the beer rocks and Pastrami. THE PASTRAMI! So good. Literally melts in your mouth.

I was completely second guessing myself for coming into this place when it took forever for a host/ess to even acknowledge me. Everything was better though once I was seated and my schnitzel came out quickly. Really, the bier rocks and schnitzel came out just as quickly as my beer order. I must say, the food and beer combination was amazing. My taste buds were so confused: "Is this the terrible bar food you usually eat? It tastes kind of like it, but a hundred times better quality." Wow I can't see myself at a fake Irish pub again. Spaetzle really? I don't think I've ever found a place that served it here in Dallas. It was so soft, the texture was amazing and complimented my pork schnitzel. The sauce wasn't overbearing at all. The sauerkraut, although not advertised as such, was tasty and more flavorful than regular bagged ones at the market. I recommend the bier rocks to the soft salty pretzel lovers. They came with some kind of cheese sauce and au jus, delicious! I wish there were more "rocks" instead of three to an order. I was really impressed by the beer menu. Okay that's probably not saying much because I'm far from a craft beer snob but I've been around enough to recognize interesting selections. Besides, the wheat beer I picked out just tasted great, drinkable but still complex in flavor. The only thing that really got to me besides waiting around at the host podium like a loser was the awkwardness of the waitstaff. Either I'm the one being awkward or they just really are that way, you know, lacking personality? They were all very polite but I felt like the waitress was trying to look into my soul sometimes (no I had only one beer). Overall it was an enjoyable experience with my kind of food! I am falling more and more in love with this area!

Had a decent time here at LUCK - interesting beer themes throughout their entire menu. They don't take reservations but you can call fifteen minutes or so beforehand to secure a spot for a bigger group. No problems on a Wednesday night for a party of 8. I tried the signature beer rocks - like mini hot pockets. Also had the steak salad - which was literally steak on top of a salad... steak was tender but outsides were slightly burnt. And of course the beer ice cream - couldn't taste any beer flavor unfortunately, seemed kinda like bitter vanilla but not too bad. Huge beer selection, obviously. It can be pretty pricey overall though.

I came to Trinity Groves after my first real night in Dallas for a conference. The atmosphere was great and they were the only packed restaurant (inside and out) there that night. I snagged the last available table under cover outside on a cool, rainy night with no wait. But apparently, it was "North Texas Beer Week", so I knew I'd be in for a treat! They had live entertainment for about an hour while I was there - great sound, but I'm sure was a little hard to hear others at the table talking while outside with them. The server (Chrissy) was very friendly and offered great suggestions when I asked-would highly recommend getting her! I started out with a custom flight of all local beers ($8)-Peticolas Alfred Brown Ale, Irish Goodbye Amber, and A Lost Epic, and 903 Sasquatch Chocolate Milk Stout. A great selection, with least favorite being the Irish Goodbye and most being Alfred Brown. As always, the microbreweries here in Texas impressed me. Next, I tried their "Bierocks"-meat and cheese-filled pastries with au jus and beer cheese fondue for dipping ($10). These were a bit salty, but overall I enjoyed them - both dipping selections were good. I would absolutely have these again. For an entrée, I went with one of their specials, "Tamales Stuffed with Pastrami and Swiss" ($8). These came out almost immediately, which made me question how many had been made at once and how long they had sat. Unfortunately, they were lukewarm :-( The taste was good, a bit on the spicy side, but the temperature unfortunately spoiled my view of them. Last up was another special to top off my night-S'mores with homemade marshmallows, chocolate ganache, and graham crackers (mostly because I'd been craving s'mores for a couple weeks!). They came out quickly, as well, and while not anything stellar, they tasted nearly like ones you'd make at home, which, while they satisfied my cravings...made me a little irritated at paying for them ($6). I washed it down with my milk stout and quickly forgot about the bill. Overall opinion (tl;dr): Great local hangout with friendly staff, fast service, a chill atmosphere, and a good food and beer selection. My bill was just $35 for all of the above, so I'd call that reasonable! I would recommend Luck to anyone in the area, especially for large groups due to their ample outdoor seating.

Ok LUCK, I tried to like you....I really did! Your beers are good, but your food still needs work! The food I got as a 'late' diner was nothing short of (literally) bottom of the barrel. Good service but my food was terrible. So sorry.....

This about my 4th time eating hear. This place offers a very comfortable atmosphere and is a nice place for a couple to get away is near downtown but not in downtown. The quality of the food is great and the service is great as well. I usually always get the pastrami sandwich but this time I got a manly steak salad. I recommend this place!

I love pastrami reubens and I love craft beer. LUCK hits it out of the park on both. I am serious. I had dreams (yes, plural) about their pastrami reuben. It is that good. Obviously, I had the reuben on my first visit to LUCK and I was amazed to hear one of the owners (Jeff) describe the cooking process: they brine the brisket for 5 days and then rub it with pepper and coriander before it is smoked for 11 hours (!!) or, as he said, "until it has a little jiggle." Seriously, brisket jiggles? Jeff also explained that the pastrami is cut into thick pieces becuase it has a tendency to fall apart if it were cut any smaller. With that pastrami base, they top the sandwich with caramelized onions, swiss cheese, and stone ground mustard on a sourdough bread. Amazing. I compared the pastrami to Katz's Deli in New York and the BBQ rub/flavor was just as good as any place in Austin. It was truly a phenomenal sandwich. The other parts of our meal were great too. The menu is beer-inspired so our table go the raved-about Bier Rocks (basically, a meat empanada) and each individual "rock" is a good appetizer for one person. The pretzels were also very good and the stone ground mustard was a nice touch too. All around, there were rave reviews for the food from our group, especially the pot roast. But really, the inspiration for this place is craft beer. And it is amazing that the Dallas area has grown with so many new breweries (Community, Peticolas, Rahr, Franconia, Deep Ellum, Lakewood, Revolver, etc) that LUCK can serve 40 different beers (on tap) from within a 75 mile drive. Given this variety, LUCK serves beer flights and while they have some recommended flights ($5 each), you can also select any four beers to make your custom flight (again, still $5). Keeping with the simple pricing them, all of the draft beers are $5 too. Pro tip: try the Peticolas Velvet Hammer -- but remember that it is 9% BVA. There are no reservations (that I know of) but our group of 6 had no trouble getting a table at 6:30 on a Tuesday night. But by about 7:15 or 7:30 the place started to fill up and it seemed like there was only a short wait for tables. There is also a sizeable patio seating too, but it was too cold in November for outdoor dining. LUCK opened in a part of Dallas that is now more accessible with a quick ride over the Margaret Hunt Bridge. In fact, if you are confused about where to find Trinity Groves, just drive over the new bridge (or the "Ghost Bridge" as some folks call it) and you are there. Finally, you can tell that the owners (and servers) are really passionate about this place and truly care about making excellent food paired with stellar beers.

Looking for a new Dallas restaurant and bar that specializes in local brews? Well, you're just in luck! Literally - it's the name of this joint! LUCK, Local Urban Craft Kitchen. LUCK has raised the bar when it comes to supporting local craft breweries. They don't just serve $5 draft brews from the area, they also incorporate beer into just about everything they offer - from beer cheese dip served with their appetizers, to beer marinades used in their entrees, and all the way to beer in their desserts (brownies, ice cream, and more)! I know what you're thinking, "beer for dessert? I'll pass." Hold your horses and open your mind! Just because beer is incorporated into the desserts doesn't mean it tastes like drinking a beer. Even my non-beer drinking friend loved every morsel of food that touched her lips! The service - that rocked too. Thanks, Michelle! We started with the bierocks (beer rocks/brocks) as an appetizer. The three golden pocket pastries were filled with ground beef, cabbage, and onion and served with a beer cheese and au jus for dippiing - so yummy! As an entree, my friend had the pork schnitzel topped with gravy and served atop red cabbage and spaetzle. She loved it! I tasted it and loved it too! It was very tender and better than the spaetzle I've had at a German restaurant and the cabbage rivaled cabbage I had in Poland. The pork rib was some of the tenderest pork I've had. It was served on a bed of greens and beans. All was seasoned to perfection. For dessert, we shared the beer battered funnel cake topped with their homemade Lakewood The Temptress stout ice cream. Again, my non-beer drinking friend was impressed as was this beer drinking gal! I ran into a couple of friends at LUCK and they had to try the dessert - both also liked the ice cream. In return, we were privileged to taste their porter brownie - also delish and perfectly moist. As I said last night, get here ASAP! Park anywhere in trinity groves parking lots and go have a seat indoors or outdoors on their covered patio. All in all, LUCK is a great new place to add into your regular rotation.

On a Tuesday evening when the other places in Trinity Groves were dead, this joint was jumpin'. Pastrami: Again terrific. Pozole: Best I can remember having. Shrimp & Grits: A-1 and plenty of it. Beers: Lots of crafts, with numerous locals. Service: Snappy.

My wife surprised me with a visit here one Saturday. Fantastic. Highly recommended - this joint could go places. The idea of making everything local is great, and they easily pull it off. We focused on beer while we were here and loved sampling a few. They have done a good job of gathering beers on tap, and their servers are very knowledgeable about them. Everyone is clearly a beer expert. They were having a hard time keeping things available while we were there, but that's okay. Service was also a bit slow, but I'll forgive them that one too. Everyone around us seemed to be really enjoying their food, but we saved our money and crossed the street for BBQ instead (great decision, it was great). We only had a pretzel with cheese fondue and mustard. Couldn't decide which sauce to use because they were both incredible. Hope to be back soon!

I wish I had the same experience as the other reviewers at Luck. Unfortunately, we didn't. One of the main reasons we tried Luck was the amazing reviews and my boyfriend wanted to go for the beer. The 2 beers he ordered on the menu they didn't have. That stunk and kind of set the tone of our evening. When he finally found a beer that they had, when they brought it out, they called it something different. He said: I ordered the XX and the server said, oh well, it's the same thing. That just didn't go over well with me. If I order something, that's what I would like to have delivered. Maybe that's just me. When our entrees arrived, maybe my expectations were completely off, because I really didn't like my turkey sandwich. At all. So much so, that I didn't even eat it. I had chips for dinner. I don't think I would go back, unfortunately.

Luck is one of my go to places when I want to eat out. The beer selection is all local brewery's and the bartenders can school most people with their beer knowledge. The menu changes periodically but the food is consistently good! My boyfriend got Lamb with oatmeal the last time and it was to die for. My favorite is their blueberry salad and their smoked wings.

When I tried this restaurant for the first time I was starving hungry. Okay, I wasn't starving but I was very hungry. I was pumped about Luck because 1) I was really hungry 2) I love trying new restaurants 3) I am a fan of Trinity Grove. I was immediately alarmed by the menu. The first thing I spotted was Seared Brussel Sprouts. Even the mention of bacon (which I'm a fan of) did not make that seem appealing. Then I spotted Pickled Beets. I was nearly ready to sprint for the door. 2 things thwarted that fleeting plan. The first was that my diining companion gave me the window seat and we were hip to hip. The second issue was my hunger pains. I managed to not cringe at all when I saw a menu item that included beef tongue. I have certain items I scan a menu for when I try a new place. Salmon, Avocado, Spinach, Mushrooms, Brisket. I was mostly coming up short. I ordered the North Texas Hot Brown because I saw the word bacon. My dining companion ordered the Pastrami. When the order came to the table and I saw the gigantic chunks of turkey sitting under bacon I was a disappointed woman. I immediately started eyeing my dining companion's Pastrami brisket situation. It was beautiful and appetizing and I had gigantic hunks of turkey sitting in front of me. Fortunately my dining companion loves me and he traded dinners with me.The Pastrami was yummy! I didn't really like the chips either. There was something about the texture that wasn't right. For dessert we had this slightly hard, crusty biscuit with some whipped cream and fruit. I was not a fan. The next time I go I will order cautiously and with great discernment.

I have vouched for and enjoyed LUCK's large variety of $5 beers since they opened. So I was EXCITED AS HELL to enjoy a donut/beer pairing last Sunday. This pairing was broadcast across the internet and scheduled from 11-3. When we arrived at noon, not only were they out of donuts...apparently they ran out in only 10 minutes. Fine. We settled to just order a beer and have lunch instead.... After spending half an hour being ignored by our "patio waitress" she decides to inform us that...they are literally out of EVERY SINGLE ITEM ON THE MENU except for 1 or 2 brunch items that "she would have to double check to see if they still had" OH!...and the only beer left available was Blood and Honey....out of 30 taps.... WTF!? For a "Local Urban Craft Kitchen" I would expect not only delicious food, but availability of food at the very least.... I hope LUCK will take into consideration how poor this makes them look and improve their ability to stock and serve food after only having been open for an hour on a Sunday morning. Its an embarrassment. Needless to say, we took our business across town...

The waiter said to order their signature Pastrami Brisket on Sourdough bread and it was Amazing!!!!! You know when you take a bite and time stops...like that! Didn't want bread so hubby ordered it and I got the Steak Salad which was great (but of course had a few bites of his, while internally I was weeping because I can't eat that much bread and live with myself ;-) )

This place has really good potential. The issue is that when they are slammed the food quality goes south fast, and so does the service. The chicken wings were delicious, but three of them were undercooked. My gf wouldn't let me return them since we were in a large party. Also, they had misprinted the size of a beer and rather than tell me when I ordered it, they only told me after I asked. This that's a little shady. I say go to the place when it is slow, sit on the great patio and enjoy yourself.

Went two nights in a row, since first night was a pop up for Snout and Whiskey. Both times great bar service as that's where I typically eat when traveling on business, bartender was great in offering guidance in both food choices and of course local tap selection. This is my new fave and worth the few minutes travel from market center district where I typically stay, this place imho is way better then meddlesome moth, both in food and pricing.

This was my first visit to LUCK and I can honestly say it was pretty good. Pros: They had a great beer selection all from local breweries which is pretty awesome. I tried the pastrami sandwich it was pretty tasty, I'm a huge fan of pastrami and this smoked brisket Texas style pastrami was just awesome. My gf had the pozole which was also pretty tasty as it had good FLAVOR ( emphasis on the flavor part keep reading ) Pretty cool location cool place to enjoy a good beer and good food. Cons: Service was not good, I don't know if our waiter was having a bad shift or whatever but his lack of attentiveness or just overall friendliness was very poor. This gave me a bad impression on the place, almost walked out. So my only problem with the food was with the pozole ( Sandwich was awesome lol) Where do I started with this pozole, ok so the flavor was good don't get me wrong, broth was tasty I could taste the pork in it which is a sign it was made right. Tasted pretty authentic ,not moms pozole but nice try I applaud the effort. The waiter asked my gf if she wanted the bowl or cup she asked for the bowl. Later comes out this bowl which it massive but it's all plate lol the plate itself is huge but where the pozole sits, it's about the diameter of a tortilla maybe and about 1/4" deep lol in my head I was wondering what the cup portion was like ,a shot glass? It came with a tiny piece of pork in it and a skimpy portion of hominy and some cabbage radish and a random slice of lime sitting in it. (Presentation was poor) After all said and done the pozole was good just wish there was a decent portion. If you want to serve pozole in your gastropub/american restaurant serve it right please. Or charge $3.50 for that portion. But I will be coming back in the future to give it another try.

I've eaten here about 15 times since summer 2014. It was good for the first few months, however the food has steadily declined since then. I've been wanting to write a review for a while, but wanted to wait to see if it got better. The pastrami used to be great, now it is soggy and way too salty to enjoy unless you are hammered. I've had pretty much the entire menu, and nothing is a culinary masterpiece. I really do think that it used to be awesome, and this opinion is shared by several other people I know as well as patrons I've met at the bar and discussed the food with. I still frequent LUCK, but you will find me at the bar drinking their local craft beer selections, and NOT eating. If I could give 5 stars for the beer, I would - best prices in town and a vast selection all brewed within 75 miles of LUCK. If you are in the mood for an evening beer and some beer pretzels to snack on, this is a great place. If you are looking for great food, good luck because it kinda sucks now.
