I own a business right across from the pizzeria. So this is a place I order or (used to order) from very frequently. Today to my surprise after 20 mins of waiting I picked up the pizza, brought it across the street and surprisingly on my first bite found a long dark hair in my pizza. To clarify it wasn't on top of my pizza it was baked inside. I took it back and the employees didn't look surprised at all. Almost like " what is the big deal if it has hair inside". Hmm. I had to ask for a refund to get my money back. When you order over the phone, they pick up with a New York pizzeria attitude. That's all fine and good but being a New Yorker for about 26 years, I can handle the attitude but not the hair on my pizza. Ended up going to Chipotle next door.

Gourmet pizza prices at store bought quality. We got the "large" and it would be a small at most other places. I've literally never had pizza crust that was so underwhelming. I got the margarita pizza, and I've never had a margarita pizza with so few toppings. It was basically terrible crust and pizza sauce. I'm sad about hating this place because it is so convenient to my apartment, but I think I'll go a bit further and hit up the better pizza joints--- or, if I want bad pizza, I'll go to Wal Mart or Little Ceasar's. I think their pizza is probably better.

Me and my boyfriend came here at 0200 am . He is very particular about his pizza but he loved it so mu ch he even ate the crust....he never eats the crust.

LA GOURMET we meet again!! I knew I had to be back and get some Malibu Barbie. Honestly, the fact that this bad boy comes out 15 minutes later boiling hot and burns your tongue because you're so excited, impresses him. They make it fresh and it's so tasty. Honestly, definitely better after some drinking but still love!

Yummy. Delivery is a bit slow and pizza isn't always warm. But, I go sometimes for lunch. Great lunch specials and everything I've had is delish. My fav is the margherita pizza with extra aioli sauce! Fresh mozzarella balls. Mmmm. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! Delivery is still slow. Pizza is always cold. And I had a free pizza just now from a screw up last time. It's again cold. And they still charged me a $2.00 delivery fee when they are the ones that messed it up in the first place.

Best late night pizza in uptown! Went there the other weekend with some friends and the pizza was awesome, I'll definitely be back next weekend.

EXCELLENT PIZZA!! Just had the Greek pizza with lamb gyro meat and it was amazing! Perfect thin, crisp crust and just the right amount of toppings although I did add some of the free roasted garlic they offer. When I don't have to ask for extra anything on my pizza it means someone got the toppings juuuust right! So good, def try it!

Is there anything better than going to LA Gourmet after a night out on the town? If there is, please let me know what it is. First off, any pizza joint will do well when its clientale is inebriated and hungry at 2AM. However, LA Gourmet is good while you're sober too! The true test for good pizza IMHO. As you get to the counter, there are plenty of pizzas to pick from for a slice. If you want to be the hero for your group, you can tell them to box one of them up for you, and you will be forever loved by your group members. Don't make a rookie mistake though, and ask for extra aioli (more on this later) Of the already made pizzas, my favorites are bbq chicken, chicken pesto, and pepperoni. Each one is delicious in its own right, but they all have very different flavor profiles. The bbq chicken uses bbq sauce in place of marinara, so it has a little more tang. The chicken pesto uses (you guessed it) pesto sauce and also has tomotoes on it. The pepperoni is your standard pepperoni. Essential to good pizza, the dough is made fresh so the crust has a good flavor. Okay, now for the kicker (sorry for taking your line Guy Fieri). The aioli is the bomb. When I first started going here, I referred to it as ranch, even though it didn't quite taste like ranch to me. Then somone behind the counter called it aioli, but it doesn't quite taste like aioli to me either. Let's just call it ranch flavored aioli. This little dipping delight takes what is already a good pizza, and makes it great pizza. Do yourself a favor. The next time you're out with your friends in uptown, stop that hangover right in its track, and conclude the night with a stop at LA Gourmet.

Whats going on? How did we end up here? LA Gourmet Pizza is conveniently on McKinney Ave in the heart of Uptown, so after a night of drunken fun, you can stumble over and enjoy some pizza. However, I was sober when I came here late at night so my review won't have that drunken bias factor. The pizza was good but unspectacular. It's 4 dollars if you buy by the slice, and some slices are definitely bigger than others. There were only 4 options if you buy by the slice, and I ended up getting the pepperoni. It was OK, but I was sad that there was no sausage option. A couple of my friends bought a sausage pizza. It comes piping hot and the sausage was pretty good on it. However, the crust is extremely thin if you by an entire pizza. Like...anorexic this is abnormal thin. The place is pretty expensive but for convenience and taste, it does the job.

Their pizza is great- best when fresh and their delivery is pretty slow. So when my pizza arrived it was slightly warm. I actually had to microwave it. And the bruschetta was a little soggy. But that's kinda the price we pay for being lazy and ordering delivery lol. The ppl that work there are always super friendly and polite. I went in one evening right at 10:30 (their closing time) and they were still very happy to serve me, for take out of course :)

On Sunday nights, everything is closed downtown. With a craving for pizza and a phone in my hand I had little selection of which places would deliver around here. I've had LA Gourmet before but I was pretty intoxicated and didn't feel comfortable with writing an accurate review, but this time I'm convinced! We got a medium California and added pepperoni (my boyfriend is a carnivore but I would have preferred it without). It came out a little expensive but was definitely worth it. The ingredients were fresh and it really satisfied. And delivery was super quick! Glad we found somewhere for pizza and we'll be sure to order from them again!

Went over to this place for lunch because a friend recommended it. We decided on their pepperoni pizza. Found out that their pepperoni is all beef...normally I feel like pepperoni can be a mix of beef and pork or just pork so we had to try this one. I loved how the pepperoni was layered under the cheese when normally you bite into the pizza and a few pieces of pepperoni might fall off since it's on top. I felt like every bite had the best proportion of pepperoni, cheese, sauce and crust. This sauce was just absolutely on point. I am big on the sauce on my pizza... I can't have it too salty or too sweet, and this sauce was just perfect. I left here with a food coma and could not focus at work the rest of the day, OOPS.

Very good pizza. One of my favorite pizza place in dallas. Any pizza I order, I always ask for the special white dipping sauce.

I hate to leave negative reviews but after reading the reviews and realizing it wasn't just me I decided to share my story. This happened about a year ago. I use to work in the uptown area and we loved ordering from here. They have a system that recognizes your number when you call and can pull up previous orders. Well on one of my days off I decided to call and get my usual Malibu Barbie for lunch. Unfortunately I live out of the delivery route which was completely fine! I had no problem coming to pick it up. I get there pay for it and head home. I get home starving and ready to dig in! The disappointment was so strong. I ended up with a pizza I didn't order. Confused and upset I called them back (now I have worked in the service industry and I understand anger gets you know where with people). I was told "ma'am I took your order and you ordered the chicken pesto" no way I did! I hate onions and that pizza is covered in them. I realized what had happened. One of my coworkers who orders with me always gets chicken pesto. I understood the misunderstanding it's how I was treated that made me angry. I told the lady who I later found out was the owner that I was a very loyal customer and wanted to know if they could deliver the right pizza (I only live about 15 minutes away from them and when I was in there it was dead slow). I was told no that I live to far away. Ok... I'm still trying to stay calm I asked her what I was suppose to do? I paid $20 for this pizza. I asked for a refund and was told the only way I could get a refund was if I BROUGHT THE PIZZA BACK!! What?!? At this point she had acknowledged that it was their mistake but yet I'm still SOL. I told her I shouldn't have to come back for their mistake. Long story short I was offered 50% my next order (later when I decided to get over this and order from them again I was told it was only 50% one item.). I was yelled at and completely disrespected by the owner. I had to drive back up there to get the right pizza so as to not waste my $20. If you decide to eat there I think you'll be fine but double check any orders you are given!

For full disclosure, I can't comment on their food, only their service. Also, I've never had such poor service and never thought I would. I am in Dallas for business for about a month. I am normally in Phoenix, AZ, where I am spoiled with pizza joints that have vegan pizza. Someone recommended me this place when I mentioned I was looking for just a simple vegan cheese pizza & that they had soy cheese. I looked on their toppings part of their menu online and didn't see it, but when I went into the online ordering form, it was there. This discrepancy made me curious and I didn't want to accidentally order anything they no longer stocked, so I called to make sure they actually had soy cheese. They open their phone calls asking if the call will be delivery or pickup. I mentioned that I was already in the process of ordering online and just wanted to confirm that they had soy cheese, which the order-taker affirmed. He asked what I wanted, which I thought was a bit weird since I told him originally that I was mid-online order, but I went with it assuming they preferred over-the-phone orders. I used to work in the food industry and talking to someone over the phone or in person can clear up a lot of confusion that might happen with an online order. My usual pizza back home is olive oil & garlic, Daiya cheese, and avocado on top, so I wanted something as close as possible to that. I ordered olive oil as sauce, veggie/soy cheese (as it's listed on their website), avocado, and garlic. When the taker asked what size I wanted, I said I just wanted it to be big enough to meet the delivery minimum. He quickly read me my order & was gone. The pizza arrived in the hotel lobby where I'm staying and I went down to meet the driver, who I tipped a couple bucks on the card. The delivery driver was incredibly friendly, offered me the dry stuff (parmesan & crushed red pepper) and had me sign. I apologised for taking the time to come down because I was on such a high floor and he was really friendly about it. No issues there. When I got to my room I finally opened the little pizza & found a bunch of toppings on it that I hadn't wanted. Artichokes, olives, onions, and peppers were all over it. Assuming there had been a really simple mistake, I figured it was also dairy cheese, only because if that was their soy cheese it melts differently than most soy cheese I've seen. It did have the toppings I had requested (avocado, garlic, oil sauce). I called as soon as I realised to let them know I'd received a bunch of toppings I hadn't ordered. The receiver of the call said they'd seen the pizza go out and asked if I was sure that it was dairy cheese. I said I wasn't sure and that I supposed I couldn't tell but that more importantly it had a bunch of toppings I didn't order. They re-confirmed what I had asked for versus what they had in the order. They asked if I wanted a new pizza and I said sure. A bit later, I got a call back from the pizza place. I was in a casual Skype call and just asked them to hold on. This person identified themselves as the original order taker and said that their name was Rick. They were clearly ornery from the start of the call and upset with me. They said that they had confirmed the order with me over the phone and that, "I don't know, man, you got what you paid for." I said that there must have just been a misunderstanding. Rick expounded on that and said that I must have misunderstood what a vegetarian pizza was. I pointed out that I didn't order a vegetarian pizza, but that I ordered a vegan pizza with only three toppings. (Saying vegan when ordering a pizza historically has helped me in the event that the restaurant uses eggs or dairy in their bread.) Rick asked me, "what wasn't vegan about my pizza" and said that "vegans eat vegetables. What, you don't like vegetables?" I'm not sure why this employee was so combative with me because I was open to whatever solution suited them and hadn't even asked for anything, having been receptive to whatever they were offering. I pointed out, after a lot of terse and abrasive behaviour from the employee, that "vegetarian" was both the name of one of their pizzas (something I didn't know because I ordered a custom pizza over the phone) AND an established adjective that just means "there is no meat on this food item," and therefore hearing someone say something was vegetarian to me didn't register as "a bunch of other toppings will be placed on this pizza." In response to that, the exasperated employee said that they couldn't give me a new pizza because they were too busy but that he would refund the card. I was totally fine with that and had no interest in putting a burden on presumably already-overworked employees. The person I was Skyping with heard the call (it was on speakerphone) and also found the behaviour atrocious.

These guys always provide good service. They are fast and the prices are decent. The only time you might find yourself waiting around or dealing with someone who isn't happy and smiling is at 2am when the bars close. Those poor people have to hire COPS to man the restaurant while the drunken fratty douchebags and sorostitutes treat them like crap and try to get free or cheap food. If this is you, go away. No one wants your service and the other customers don't think you're cool, trust me. I actually watched people turn the open sign on over and over again at 3 am while the poor staff was trying to close the place down. It was a madhouse. Cut these people some slack. It's cheap pizza at a good location and they always have good deals and friendly staff. Give it a try!

Another failed attempt for this New York guy to find any decent pizza in dallas. 4 dollars for a small slice of frozen like pizza. What a rip off. They don't charge 4 in New York City. Just grab a frozen pizza and you ll enjoy it more.

has anyone noticed that they have different prices listed depending on where you look? for example, the price for wings on their own website ( lagourmetpizza.com/menu.… ) is $7.99. it's $8.99 on the menu via yelp and $9.99 when you order online from their website. called to inquire and was rudely told that they wouldn't honor the price on their own website and they have no intention on fixing it. needless to say, we did not order from them nor do we have any intentions to do so in the future.

This place has good pizza at 2-3 am after a night out at the uptown bars, but there is a really long line on Friday and Saturday nights. As for a normal night, the pizza is good, but not the most amazing for the price. I will come back, but only after a night out when it's the only option in walking distance.

Apparently the extra charge was a delivery charge. That's fine, I guess, but they should tell you that on the phone.

They know what I want when I call or walk in since it's at least once a week, lol! I like their American Pie and Downtowner. The white sauce they serve (in place of ranch) is so creamy and fabulous. I pour it all over the pizza. It's a nice little place to sit and eat when out and about (and open until 3am Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights) and only takes about 15 minute for a to-go order to be ready.

  • Matt L.

I was starving and needed something to eat after drinking. The BBQ chicken pizza slice I had was good but a little soupy on the sauce, but it is 2:00 AM and not expecting a masterpiece. The pepperoni slice I had was good but after a few bites in was just too much pepperoni and not enough sauce. If I go back again i'd snag the BBQ chicken pizza slice.

I'm so glad we took the plunge and ordered from here. I've driven past this place for months, and I've always been curious at what lurked inside the pizza boxes. Review time. First impressions: I'll be honest, the website and menu presentation is a little sketch, but then again this is not a billion dollar chain. We ordered delivery via phone. The man that answered the phone was beyond professional. I did not feel rushed, and he took the time to explain the menu to me. I was so impressed that I even took him up on his pizza recommendation, which I never do. We'll get to that later. ETA: 30-45 minuets. 35 minuets later, a knock at the door. Friendly delivery guy, happy to bring us our pizza. Asked if this was our first time ordering from the place and seemed genuinely proud of the food they serve. The food: Two small pizza boxes. Too small, piping hot pizzas, presented beautifully. My partner got a beef and mushroom pie. I did not try his, but it looked awesome. As suggested, I got the Malibu Barbie - AKA buffalo chicken (no tomatoes though, seriously who eats tomatoes with their chicken wings?). By far this was the best buffalo chicken pizza I have ever had. Although it's just boneless skinless chicken breast, it still had that depth of flavor you get with the crispy skin on a chicken wing. The crust was thin, but it still had a bit of doughy cushion that I love. Overall, we will definitely order from here again, and I cannot wait to try all the other options they have. (Gyros anyone?)

AVOID ordering online at all costs. Their ordering system is not secure and they have to write down the numbers submitted by hand. After ordering online, we received a call from a non-business number from someone claiming to be an employee asking for our credit card info. She couldn't identify herself any further than a first name and upon questioning hung up on her end. I called back and asked to speak with a manager and there was none present. The man on the other end said there was nothing out of the ordinary from calling back on a personal number which should be a HUGE red flag in anyone's book. On top of that, they informed us that the delivery driver wrote down the wrong credit card number when transcribing it from the online form submission. I asked why an online order needed to be written down by hand when it was submitted electronically and he said the online website was not secure and it was a much safer to call. Definitely NOT worth risking your credit info for mediocre pizza.

I just recently moved to Dallas, and was told that LA Gourmet a great late night delivery, as I work really late nights. After we finally got through on the phone line, the whole experience was terrible. First, I called, and the person told me they wouldn't deliver, even though I'm in the heart of uptown. Then he changed his mind. I was then told that they won't deliver anything but the most basic of pizzas. My roommate and myself were looking for a sandwiches and a pasta. No times or delivery restrictions are given online. It was really aggravating to go through the whole process, and not get any food for it. Don't call if you are looking for a good delivery option!

The BEST pizza, but if they mess up your Oder they won't refund or replace it. The out meat on my vegetarian pizza and still made me pay. That's BAD BUSINESS.

The pizza tastes like a peanut butter sandwich. After ordering online at 8:30, entering my credit card info, and even receiving a confirmation email of my order, I mistakenly assumed my dinner would soon be ready and headed to me, just short three blocks away. At 10:15 I called to check after having received nothing, not wanting to be obnoxious about speedy service on a Saturday. Person asked me my name, then looked at the computer and found my unprocessed order right away, I guess only because I called and he looked at the online orders? He said the website was messed up kinda. Seems like it works great and had my order at the ready when I called, nobody cared to look. I had to cancel the order, I couldn't wait to eat however long it would took to make and deliver pizza. Didn't get a 'raincheck' or 'free salad' or coupon or any kind of anything like that. So, if you order online here, pay online, wait, good chance their site will be down and you'll never get your dinner.

Best pizza! Best service! Best delivery man (Rafeek)! We've been ordering from them for five years and have only had one hiccup. The Old School Casa Blanca is extremely good.

Pizza was ok. Creative but just ok. Sandwich that arrived wasn't even what I ordered. I tried it anyway (a gyro) and it was gross and the meat was cold. The California salad was ok. Big and lots of avocado. But I could have made that at home just as good.

When it comes to pizza, I know how to criticize. This is a quick to order place and perfect for late night after hitting the town. It's pretty trendy...if you come here late you will probably see the same people that you walked by at a club or bar in uptown. When I first went up to the line to place my order, I saw that the pizza looked rather cold and unpleasant. Looks sure are deceiving! Once they finished preparing the pizza, it came out hot and fresh! I had two slices of pepperoni (yes two slices...I can eat)! The pizza was so good! It had just enough flavor to have me wanting it again and again. Perhaps I was a little tipsy still and that's why it tasted so good to me...but, until I can go there again, LA Gourmet gets all 5's in my book!

Tried to place an order online when I noticed none of their prices were matching up to the menu on lagourmetpizza.com . So I called and told the employee that, and he said the manager would not adjust the prices to what their menu says. That is ridiculous, why would I pay more than what their menu says...? I will never order here again.

came here with some friends before a concert at the AAC, we had the malibu barbie pizza and the chicken florentine pizza....both were delicious!! i personally loved the chicken florentine better!! also my friends really LOVED the roasted garlic they offered on the side. it looked delicious but i didn't want to stink up my breath before the concert so i chose not to eat it. The staff is very friendly and they came over to check on us and make sure everything was good. Definitely will go back often only if it weren't so far!!

My friend and I were extremely ravenous on McKinney Ave. and stumbled upon LA Gourmet Pizza. The staff was helpful and we got our pizza really fast! They had a good amount of options for specialty pizzas and definitey had a lot of topping options/ not-pizza menu items. We decided on sharing a medium BBQ Chicken pizza. The pizza was JUST the right size for the both of us and the price was decent. We were given some garlic ranch sauce on the side to drizzle on top of our pizza at our discretion. The BBQ sauce was sweet and savory, the chicken was cooked well, and the onions were fresh! The cheese was melty and stringy, just like I like it and they put gouda on it - what's not to like?! The crust was thin but still had some soft chewy parts that I savored. I'm really glad we chose this place to satisfy our late-night munchies. I definitely will not overlook this place the next time I make a visit to McKinney!

Don't eat pizza.. but I did accompany my friends there for a 3am session of 700cal per slice and 1400 gram of sodium per slice session after downing 10 tequillas. It did smell delicious though. There was a nice police person guarding the pizza.

One of my top three favorite pizza places in, well, anywhere. Their Malibu Barbie Pizza on wheat crust is pretty much the best pizza you'll ever have. I've gotten multiple people absolutely hooked on it. Try it - you'll thank me. And don't skimp on the garlic dip that comes with it. They deliver, and usually very quickly. The employees are all very friendly and will make sure that you're a very satisfied customer. Once they forgot my salad in my delivery, and they made another trip to bring it, even though I said it wasn't necessary. It's also BYOB, which rocks.

Worst delivery service I've ever had. Ordered a pizza and it NEVER came. Called them several times and they kept saying "it will be 15 minutes." On top of that, I gave them my credit card number so I got charged $20. After about 3 hours of waiting they just stopped answering the phone. Horrible place, there are way better pizza places in uptown and the cool thing is they usually won't steal $20 from you.

The best pizza I've had in a while. Thin, fresh-tasting crust with just the right amount of tomato sauce, topped with a generous amount of cheese, and baked for just the right length of time. The word "fresh" always comes to mind whenever I think of their pizza. Not dry like so many of the other pizzas I've had delivered to my home. LA Gourmet Pizza delivers only in the uptown area... I'm a very blessed gal. :)

Yeah it's fresh! This little pizza place is cute and convenient for Uptowners. Pros: 1. Great location 2. Yummy homemade pizza with delicious sauce- especially the meat pizza! 3. Good value 4. BYOB Cons: 1. Spinach salad is way too salty. With the overwhelming amount of cheese and salty nuts, the dressing needed to be sweeter. 2. Pizza size was smaller than normal

We went before Theatre 3 last weekend. It was a close walk, so it was convenient. We got the American pizza and a salad. Salad was fresh and good and very good balsamic dressing. I'm not sure how to express how we liked the pizza... I liked the crust, but the tomato sauce was borderline sweet and I looked twice to see if it was accidentally BBQ sauce. I picked the sausage off - had a strange taste to it. I liked the banana peppers on it, but the entire combination was very strange (and I like to try different pizzas). Don't think I'd order from here again unless someone I was with really wanted to go there. The staff was very polite and everything came out quickly.

Oh. My. Goodness. A+. I'm not a thin-crust pizza fan, but this is delicious. Thin, but not crispy. Sweet, flavorful sauce. I love it. It arrived warm and toasty and the delivery man was quite patient with me trying to figure out where to meet him (I just moved in). I also got a caesar salad which was pretty good but, clearly the pizza is where it's at. The croutons could be crispier, IMO. But the lettuce was fresh, dressing was great, yum yum yum. I will definitely be ordering from here again! Price tag was a little surprising at first, but if you're just getting pizza I do think it's pretty reasonable. And DEFINITELY worth it.

I love buffalo chicken pizza and LA Gourmet's take on it is the Malibu Barbie - Ranch, buffalo chicken, and banana peppers. I highly recommend. It's not too greasy or overpowering. Just right.

I told my boyfriend I wanted 'junk food' but wasn't sure exactly what. We wandered around and were just about to give up when I spotted this place. He'd already tried it before, but kinda forgot about it. I decided on the mediteranean pizza which comes w zucchini, eggplant, and tomato. It's sauceless but has nice olive oil and garlic between the toppings and thick layer of cheese. The crust was a tad sweet, chewy, bur had a bit of crisp too. The vegetables were all sliced to the right thickness and tasty. We shared the medium and it was the perfect amount for us. Atmosphere was very chill and clean and the people were really nice. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back to try some other pizzas here!

Delicious and great service! What more can you ask for? I split a medium pizza with a friend (around $14-- I order one of the vegetarian ones) and it filled us up. They also have an area where you can get your own banana peppers and other things (I forgot what.. but hey, banana peppers!). The worker (or manager? owner?) gave me a togo menu, and two flyers with useful coupons when I told him I just moved here. Nice touch :)

I had a slice here once and ate it in their little courtyard that is hidden behind the store. Hammocks and plants created a cute little oasis. I had a conversation with the woman behind the counter about Isreali politics. I guess the atmosphere was so cool, it outshined the pizza. But I remember the pizza as being good. I should go revisit this place.

I"m a picky eater - but I know good good when I travel across the globe. If course it depends on each person's food preferences and taste buds. I really like food that makes you want to go back and visit again. So LA Gourmet Pizza was recommended by a friend who works for the Chemical and sanitation company that brags that they keep restaurants safe for people like me and you to eat at. Well, when I took a trip down and ordered the American Pie pizza and Greek Salad. American Pie Pizza is to die for! You've got to like meat though - they put these pepperocini's on it and bake it where it add this distinct flavor that I've never tasted. Sure there's some grease on the pie when you get it, but if you want to eat a healthy meal - go to Souplantation instead! Be sure to ask for the special sauce on the side. It looks like a thick ranch dressing dipping sauce but it's not. Whatever it is, it's freakin good and they don't advertise it or even proactively offer it, you have to ask for it like the "secret menu" at In N Out Burger. There's not too many Pies I like outside of NY or Boston but this one is reasonable and good. I always get the AMerican Pie when I go there. Try it!

So after walking around from shop to pubs in the neighborhood I was famished! It was 9:30 and the BF and I's tummies were growling angrily at us. He wanted pizza and I wanted something with greens so we settled on La Gourmet's California pizza. When I called to place the order I asked the guy if a medium would be okay for two people. He asked if it's two dudes or two girls. Um neither I said while thinking if I sound like a dude on the phone. He said we should be "OK," so I confirmed the order and said I'll be there in 15 minutes to pick it up. We somehow managed to find a parking spot in this little strip where gourmet was squeezed. TJF was right this place is really narrow but homey at the same time. There's a huge mural on the left wall of the place, the lights are dimmed and wood floors are definitely welcoming. Our Pizza was around $14 but the man handed me a teeny tiny box (the size of a personal pizza). I was going to get upset but felt I should have waited. Right when we got in the car I opened our box and was surprised that the pizza didn't' seem as small as the box appeared so I didn't cause a hissy fit, besides I was starving. Anyways we get home, make a salad and pop open the goods. The California comes with avocados, sun dried tomatoes (lots of them), mozzarella cheese, olives, baby spinach and Parmesan cheese in a nice pesto sauce. The crust is thin but not crispy which worked for this particular dish and there was a little too much greasiness than I preferred in my slice. Inside our box was a little dipping sauce container with a creamy white sauce. I have no idea what it was but it definitely wasn't ranch. I do know it tasted fantastic with the slices of avocados on my pizza. Was this mini medium pizza worth $13? Eh not so much but We were hungry so we tore it up. The ingredients were fresh and everything but I'm not kidding when I say this could almost pass for a personal pizza if you've got a big enough appetite!

Probably one of the most overlooked pizzas in Dallas. LA Gourmet Pizza is a very unique pizza joint, that I frequent. I always get either a pepperoni pizza or the primo pepperoni pizza. The pizza is thin crust, but certainly has a just-sweet-enough sauce and has a good body to it. It's not crispy-thin. The most unique thing about LA Gourmet is the white sauce (which they have a specific name for, but it escapes me now). Many mistake it for ranch, but really it's not ranch at all... I'm not sure really what it is. It's GREAT for dipping the pizza into (i.e. - not just the crust.)

This place was good when I went for just a regular slice. It was late and they weren't taking many new orders. Next time I would try the Malibu Barbie Pizza which people seem to be raving about.

Pretty good! One of my neighbors inspired me (he had some sort of chicken pizza with spinach and avocados on it which was great), so I gave them a shot. I had a pepperoni pizza which was quite good. I got the hand tossed crust, which was great, and the pizza had just the right amount of sauce which also had a very nice flavor. I also had a Greek salad which was good as well. I'll definitely eat here again!

I wish they had the option for a half of a star!! Being from NY I wasn't expecting anything great here but I wanted something quick and easy.... Not the case!! I would of much rather had Domino's or frozen pizza from the supermarket!! Now lets put that a side for a second.. I'm in the customer service industry and have a great understanding of what customer service is.. This store failed on all avenues!! I ordered at exactly 12pm, waited 30 minutes and nothing, walked up to the counter right next to the register, while other customers were placing their orders, made eye contact with 5 different employees behind the counter while holding my number and not one person acknowledged I was there. Then after 20 minutes an employee saw the look on my face, looked at the number and proceeded to find my order. My pizza was on top of the oven for at least over 20 minutes because I noticed it when I walked up to counter. I turned and said to the employee after "Ive been waiting for over 45 minutes and that's been sitting there for at least over 20 minutes that's what you are going to give me", well I got no response. Needless to say I'm only in Dallas once in a while, first time here but I will not be going here ever again and I would suggest no one visits this location unless they want to be aggravated after being there and want to have a bad product.

Don't eat sober, I repeat.....don't eat sober. This place makes uptown a little less shitty and is definitely a clutch late night snack. Never know what to expect here, its a strong possibility that someone will get kicked out for trying to steal pizza or get in a fight. This is a little off topic but the building right next to it has been under construction for about 4 years....wonder what thats about?

For some reason, it's hard to find pizza delivery to the West End. That being sad, a friend had refered me to LA Gourmet and said they would trek across Woodall to feed me. She raved about the California Pizza with avocado. Sounded weird enough for me, so I was in! The service on the phone was friendly. I ordered a medium pizza with goat cheese (!!!), caramelized onions, and basil; plus a salad. If you're looking for cheap food, this isn't it. Those two things set me back $20, but I didn't care once it arrived. Yum!! The salad was nice and green with asiago cheese (my fave) and balasmic vinagrette. Overall, a good pizza and they're open on Sundays (unheard of downtown)

First time I had LA Gourmet was late night so I figured that I needed to give it another try. and I love going here ever since! My FAV pizza to get here is the American Pie! That is the best esp with the ranch dipping sauce! If you like pesto pizza the California pizza is good too. I would definitely get one of their specialty pizzas here. It is what makes this place so good...oh yeah and the people watching for late night! If you want late night pizza dont even consider Roccos!!!

We got delivery pizza and used their online order system. The delivery guy was super nice and the pizza was good(lots of options) but I don't think I will order from them again. I wanted a pizza without cheese(I get ill if I eat it) so I simply did not choose any of the cheeses on their menu. When it arrived, it had cheese on it and the driver offered to take it back and remake it for us. He even asked if we wanted soy cheese(that's an option?! ok!) About 10 minutes later I get an angry call from somebody at LA Gourmet telling me that he has a $22 dollar pizza that he can't sell and what is he supposed to do with it. All of their pizzas come with mozzarella cheese and if I wanted soy cheese I should have selected that option from the menu. I was staring at the online menu when he told me this, and it isn't an option. That apparently wasn't something I should have pointed out because he simply told that I was wrong. Then he told me if it was so important to me, I shouldn't use their online ordering system. I should call in my order next time. No. There will not be a next time. Too Long Didn't Read: Pizza and service is good as long as you NEVER send anything back. Then you'll get yelled at.

Once again, I love pizza. My friend and I were walking down McKinney Avenue after a launch party, and she says, "Hey, iIt's a pizza place made of brick. I bet you their pizza is really good." How did she know??? A man with an Italian accent greets us with a warm welcome, so I ask if he has any favorites on the menu (I tell him I like really stinky cheeses). He says "The Quattro Formaggi!" I said, "Ummmm, what?" So we split a medium: half Four Cheese, half Pizza Vegetariana. The four cheese had mozerella, asiago, gorgonzolla, and ricotta. The gorgonzolla worked perfectly since the other flavors on the pizza were lighter. the vegetariana has artichokes, black olives, toma tomatoes, roasted peppers, mushrooms, and onions - my vegetarian friend loved it. The pizza was served so the cheese was all melty and the crust was thin enough to be both soft and crisp. The place is pretty laid back with cozy lighting. The trip to the restroom is...interesting. Sanitary, but definitely different! Total: $14.09, split between the two of us at $7.05 each Will be back!

The name doesn't do it justice! That is, pizza better than you find in most of L.A. A little thin on atmosphere, but the pizza makes up for it. Just the right crispiness, great sauce, not too greasy ... a solid A for pizza. A friendly staff, clean, convenient (heart of Uptown on McKinney) location, not really a destination to dine in. Good hours of operation, too, on the weekends. Too many places here stop serving after 11 or midnight. Food 'til 2AM, great!

The arugula salad is great, except the pistachios are a weird choice in the salad- maybe pine nuts instead? The pizza is fresh and simple. If the owners are reading this- I would ask to add prosciutto to the list of toppings. :) So why such a high rating? For $6.99, they have a great combo deals for a slice, salad and drink. They also have AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE which goes a long way. They are more than willing to sub ingredients and accommodate you to your diet/allergies/preferences. Food is good, simple, easy seating, nice folks!

Margarita pizza: a challenge that separates a good pizza joint from a wannabe. From the bland tasteless crust to the almost ketchup-y sauce, there is nothing good here. Maybe I should have had a sandwich like all the other diners. Pass.

Probably the best pizza I've ever had. The Mediterranean pizza (vegetarian) is incredible. You must order the garlic ranch sauce on the side for the pizza!

I stumbled upon this place on a Friday nite while bar hopping and needed to eat something greasy before i hit the next binging spot and lo and behold i saw a little light on with La Gourmet Pizza written on it so i screeched and did a stop and squat and managed to find one of the illegal parkings off mckinney avenue and went in to order. The place is very narrow and reminds me of the after hour pizza spots in major cities where you can enjoy a slice of pizza and Falafel after partying all night but these were actually good sized pizzas and not catered to the drunks like me so i decided to order the Caprice Salad with the friend i was with and i must say the Mozzarella was worth it with the dipping sauce for flavor and then we decided to get a medium sized pizza which i think was a meat lovers type of pizza. When it arrived it was fresh outta the oven that i could barely use my hand so i had to invoke some of my British Etiquette which i havent applied in awhile to dissect a pizza while hot with a fork and knife in order to enjoy the meal. The crust was thin and the pizza was very fresh and after 2 slices i knew i should hang it up if i didnt wanna end up making a salad on someones floor so i called it a day and my friend got the "to go" box (Yall know women love to take food home) and headed to a bar downtown and the best thing about it was that i didnt throw up that nite. I dont remember much afterwards but i know i will try and sneak into La Gourmet for lunch in the near future. One more thing i noticed was the Murals they had on the wall with Celebs with their words modified to reflect some Pizza lingo like there was one for Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams, Arnold for T2 and even Dorothy and the Wiz of Oz, That kept my wandering mind still for a minute before i got my pizza oh and one more thing. Using the restroom is like going thru a maze. I had to open like 3 doors literally till i found one.

Tucked in a tiny shopping strip off McKinney Ave, LA Gourmet Pizza had been tempting me for quite some time. Jonesing for some pie, I decided to stop in today. I kept things oldskool and ordered a small pepperoni pizza with a Caesar salad on the side. The salad was absolutely nothing special...as salad usually is. The dressing was too tangy and made me pucker. But, I was starving so finished it off. Turns out after digging around, the greens were not fresh enough...there were two brown pieces in the mix. Ugh. But, I told myself this is a pizza place so just wait for the pizza. I liked the price of a small pie ($4.99) but what was served was...well, not good. The pizza was a small pool of grease. Enough grease that it saturated the bottom center of the pie. Pizza is generally a tad greasy but this was more than the usual. I pulled the Blot with Napkins move and blotted...and blotted....and blotted. Satisfied with the pile of used napkins now on my table, I took a bite. Only 2 or 3 mins had passed from the time it came out of the oven yet the dough had already transformed into beefjerky-like texture. I actually ended up pulling off the entire layer of cheese/pepperoni after a bite of one slice. The pizza sauce could have been Prego (can you guess if I like Prego?) for all I know. Zero flavor to it. By this point, I said f*ck it and just powered through the meal...sometimes hunger beats out taste. The establishment itself is fine. You order at the counter and small tables line the wall. You can even eat in the back patio if you wish. Music and TV is provided. Strangely, the bathroom was in some other part of the small shopping strip. I couldn't find it as I opened the door marked Bathroom and I was in an empty store. I had hopes for LA Gourmet Pizza. I was better off orderiing a Pizza Mia from Pizza Hut. You could say I need to give their specialty pizzas a shot. But, if they screwed up a simple pepperoni pizza, I don't think different toppings are going to make a difference. Argh, the hunt for a great pizza joint in Dallas continues...

This place has the rudiest employees. I ordered food to be delivered, over an hour later, I called to check on it since I ordered on line. The manager was rude, the employee was rude, there are too many other great pizza places in uptown. Customer service is not their specialty! Try Rocco's or Coal vines, great people and way better food!

Not quite in the same vein as the California Pizza Kitchen (and I'm not quite sure what makes it "LA"), but LA Gourmet Pizza offers some terrific styles and toppings that you won't find at the run-of-the-mill chains. I really, really enjoy the specialty pizza, The Greek. It's topped with Gyro meat and comes with tzatziki sauce. The crust is also well done and flavorful. Whole wheat is available and very good. The restaurant itself is just the right size, with a floor plan the size of your average Subway, but with better utilized space. They also have patio seating in the back.

I have found my favorite pizza in Dallas! Coming from Austin where there are a few outstanding pizza joints... I'm making a proclamation. To find a place in Dallas that compares to one of my favs in Austin (Austin's Pizza for delivery, Salvation Pizza for take-out/dine-in) is awesome! If you love veggies, you will love the Mediterranean Pizza w/ wheat crust. Ingredients include EVOO, zucchini, roma tomatoes, roasted eggplant, feta cheese topped w/ micro arugula. The zucchini was just right, tender but with a little crunch. The eggplant was deliciously roasted w/ a slight lemony flavor. Great medley of flavors, plus the ante up with wheat crust as an option. Oh, & don't forget about the dipping sauce they serve on the side... garlicy & amazing. nice touch.

Don't listent to the other reviews. I just ordered 3 X large pizzas, Margarita , Vegetarian, and Canivoro. The pizza dough was flat and pale, not puffed and brown on the edges and was undercooked. YUK. The vegetables were fresh but of poor quailty, the tomates tasted like they were not ripe. The Margirita pizza had only a few small this circles of cheese, only half of the pizza was covered in them. There were 10 people in my office who ate and everyone said they would not want to order from there again. You can get much better pizza from I Fratellis or Coal Vines for the same or less that what you pay here. My order was over $72 with tip, what a waste, it was very dissappointing espically from all of the other good reviews. What are they comparing this to, Red Baron?

Great pizza and their gyro is really good too. I'm very particular about my pizza, i love pizza, so I was skeptical of this whole "gourmet" "healthy" pizza until I tried it.. it is delicious and gourmet and I dont feel guilty after eating it! I was hesitant at first, but this place is delicious and they deliver. Love you LA GOURMET
