Skipping breakfast, and spending the day with the family walking through art exhibits and playing at the park, is enough to make any man start to consider the deeper questions: Who am I? Why am I here? Step by step, my depression deepened as I began to feel that I would never find the answer to my questions; when there amidst the rigid landscape of skyscrapers, lay the truth. Red plaid tablecloths, feisty Italian mob name, and fresh made calzones visible from my dismal place on the sidewalk. I walked in to the smell of fresh pizza, and a smile spread across my face. New York style pizza by the slice looked like the specialty, but that wouldn't be enough to cure my existential crisis. I placed my order, and sat down to an oddly music-less environment. And within minutes, the fairly friendly, and non judgemental waitress was bringing a vegetarian pizza, calzone and wings for me, my wife, and my 1 year old. The pizza was nothing special, and the wings were the fattiest and least flavorful I've ever had, but that crust! That crust was why I was here. Enjoying the perfectly buttery, garlicky crunch with my family is the closest I've ever come to discovering my purpose in life. If you're downtown visiting the DMA or Klyde Warren Park, and struggling with the deeper questions, then you need to stop by and grab a quick calzone or stromboli. They are just the right size for one medium sized stomach or 2 small ones. Feel free to skip the wings, and if you get a pizza stick with the meatier options.

We ordered two pizzas for delivery on a Saturday night and it took an hour and 20 minutes to arrive (so order early); however, it was worth the wait! We got one plain cheese and one white with banana peppers. The white was out of this world! We also got a side of ranch which I highly recommend for ranch lovers like myself. (:

Delicious New York style pizza with quality ingredient's. My favorite is the meat lovers. I like the fact they warm the pizza to a nice golden crunch amd not just sticking it in the oven for 30 seconds. Also like the fact they use tongs and not bare hands to handle the pizzas like other places. Their service is also fast and servers are courteous!

The restaurant is located on a corner of San Jacinto and Harwood. The trees and tall buildings around provide a lot of shade. We've been here several times and almost always order pasta dishes. Service is always prompt and friendly! (Be sure to drop a few dollars in their tip bowl since the prices are so cheap!) Prices for pasta dishes are around $8 and we usually have leftovers! The sauces taste really fresh and vibrant and the pasta is cooked to perfection! This is one of our favorite places for Italian!

  • Chris T.

Ordered a sausage, mushroom, and black olive medium pizza for delivery. The delivery service was prompt. The pizza was mediocre. The toppings were sparse. The Italian sausage was tasteless as was the mozzarella cheese. Reviews have called this "thin crust NY style pizza". What we received was not what I would call "NY style ". Maybe we had to specify that particular crust. I am not planning on ordering from them again.

The california pizza is amazing. For 7 people at work we order the XL and still have leftovers. The food is always hot and fresh. Lastly, the delivery guy is wonderful. He is so nice to even go through security in our bldg to being our food up. We always take good care of him too. Keep up the great work!

Hoisted on a convenient corner location in the heart of downtown, I think I expected a New York style pizza joint to have a little more pizazz. I didn't get to order anything other than pizza by the slice because I had a gaggle of kids with me. My bill was over $30 b/c I didn't realize the kids would keep asking for more. The hostess did finally tell me "oh that would have been much cheaper if you had ordered a entire pie" but too little too late. Overall, I would say average pizza, average service. Can't speak to the rest of the menu.

I was in the mood to search for pizza slices again as I always do every once in a while in Dallas. So I decided to venture out into the downtown area and stumbled across Carmine's Pizzeria. On appearance, it had a very authentic east coast pizzeria look. I noticed they offered quite a few selections on their menu. I ordered two slices of the meat lovers with a side of Caesar salad. The pizza was good. Piping hot (like I normally like it.) They offered good customer service and the meal was affordable. I also like the location. I'll be back soon enough.

It's a short walk from my office and a couple of my peers introduced me to Carmine's. You select your pizza options and onto the oven for a couple minutes. Grab a soda and take your pizza to the table. The pizza is good, large by the slice. There are other options as well. It's a good place for lunch.

Their New York style pizza is amazing . They have good coupons that you can use each time. If you are in the mood for good delivery pizza this is the place to order. Quick delivery and they are always very nice on the phone .

I really enjoy this corner pizza joint. Staff is always polite and friendly. I personally enjoy a slice of their stuffed pizza at lunchtime.

Hot damn this is the best pizza I've had in ages. Pizza is such a personal thing, but for what it's worth, here we go. It's New York style, and I advocate getting extra cheese because I was making inappropriate noises the whole time I ate it, and I'm pretty sure that was the thing that put it over the top. I'm ecstatic they deliver to my area so Carmine's and I may be seeing a lot of each other. There are 2 things that will really get in the way of that however. First of all, their website doesn't work because it says the owner is "over bandwidth." So they kinda need to figure out their website needs. And the other is $$. It's definitely not unreasonable really, it was $20 for a large pizza with 2-3 toppings and then add tip onto that. (Half pepperoni, half onion. Hey what can I say, my boyfriend already signed the lease with me, I can have onions if I want to. And extra cheese on the whole thing because NOMMMM.) My point is that the price wasn't stellar. It's harder to be whimsical, which is probably best for my belly anyway. Maybe their website has coupons? I don't know. Delicious, delicious, delicious. Not too greasy and the answer to every Friday night dinner question ever. Also highly recommend for post-drinking needs. Divine.

Great food, and huge portions! I'm staying at the Sheraton downtown it is about a five minute walk. I got my food to go and they did an amazing job of boxing it up. They were so friendly, definitely will go back!

Horrible! I could've just thrown my money in the garbage and saved myself some time instead of eating there. I walked over to Carmine's with my friend/coworker today, because we wanted to try something different. When we got there, the manager asked if we were ready to order and we politely replied that we need a second to look over the menu since it's our first time there. The manager's reply was "Uh... ok." and looked over us to ask if anyone was ready to order. No suggestions, no "welcome to Carmine's", no nothing. My friend ordered baked ziti and I ordered lasagna. It was $7.50 each with no drinks. We were given numbers and we waited for our order, 30 minutes of waiting. The whole time the guy kneading the pizza dough gawked at us as if we were there for his entertainment. Once we finally got our food and got back to the office, we were shocked at how disgusting our food looked. The container for mine was all wrapped up in aluminum foil, and when I opened it, burning hot grease leaked all over my hands. My lasagna looked like cheesy grease soup. There were two rows of very thin, overcooked noodles lining the sides of it. I tried to eat a few bites but it was so hard to stomach that I ended up throwing it away. Since I didn't want to walk all the way back to the restaurant to get a refund, I ended up having to buy another lunch for myself. My friend's order didn't look much better; it just had more cheese on it. Maybe this place is good for pizza, if you're into that reheated stuff, but the pasta is the worst I've ever seen. I'll never go back, and I'll make sure to warn all my coworkers.

It's not just pizza ! Spaghetti with meatballs tasted really good. Served with duo of warm bread , it'll fill every hungry diner up. Liking that they're open up to 10 when most places see closed on sat night. Cashier lady was nice and friendly. Pizza is next .

  • Megan S.

Technically just pizza.. Similar to what you get anywhere else, but the difference being the slices are gigantic and loaded with toppings. I stay at the hotels downtown sometimes and this is one of the only places open at night. Something about a large slice, loaded with toppings, good bread, the right amount of late night greasy on a cold night. Tastes awesome. This place also gets big points for having excellent customer services. Super friendly staff.

So, my first attempt to try here was an attempt at getting delivery. The never answered the phone. Now I visited in person. Tried a couple slices of pizza for lunch. First, the place was clean. There's nothing special about the restaurant, nothing special and I don't think I would consider it for anything except a simple and quick meal. The woman taking my order was less than pleasant. In hearing her interaction with other customers she is down right catty ...taking the "New York Pizza" thing a little too far. Then the pizza ...it reminded me of mall pizza or stadium pizza. Not bad, but nothing special and nothing to write home about . Overall I just can't see this as a go to for my pizza needs.

Great price, but the pizza was just okay. Nothing to write home about. Line was moving which was great. Took the order to go but many people stay and eat which is nice too.

I forgot about my love affair with Carmine's. They are back in the rotation. I've had the same delivery driver the past two recent times, and he's so nice. Calls you by name and makes sure you have enough parmesan and crushed peppers. The pizza is still good quality and tasty too.

this place has great pizza and sandwiches but i only gave it 2 stars because the light complected salt and pepper guy that works the register is less than friendly. I think he's one of the managers there but I'm not too sure. The last time i was there he was looking down and messing with the cash in the register before even looking at me or acknowledging me. I was waiting for him to finish before placing my oder because i didn't want to be rude. Three minutes later he looks up but doesn't say anything, instead he picks up the ringing phone. Five minutes later I'm still standing there. He hasn't spoken a word to me nor smiled nor greeted me. I would have been fine if he had verbally asked me to wait a minute but he didn't say anything. Finally, maybe 8-10 minutes after standing there he asked what i wanted. He was so unfriendly that i decided to walk out. I left hungry and craving my sandwich but id be damned if i give my money to an establishment that could care less about the customer. Ill go back only if that guy isn't there. Ill update this post with his name once i return to Carmines.

The pizza here is decent. I'm originally from the Chicagoland area, and there is basically no comparison. The pizza was hot but the place is small, and there tends to be a long line. If i'm looking for mediocre pizza while i'm in downtown Dallas, I will probably come here again.

    (3)
  • Dante S.

This place isn't too bad. A little on the cheap side if that's what you're looking for downtown. All of the cooks are Mexican, which is fine, but don't expect this pizza to be true to what you're expecting. I had the Stromboli and I would rate it a solid three out of five. Nothing to call home about and also worth getting again if you like those kinds of things. Mine came with pepperoni, ground beef and loads of mozzarella, along with some dipping sauce. The dough was nice and puffy.

  • Bonnie B.

Carmine's is awesome! We order from there all the time. The cheese always is smooth, melty, and creamy and it has just the right amount of greasiness ( cause you know good pizza has to have a little grease :) ) The crust is crisp and tasty and the pizza itself is a perfect thickness. We also get the meatball sub from there and it is sooo good. Nice warm meatballs with fresh tomato sauce, oozing with provalone on a toasted roll. We are from New England and this is New England/ New York style pizza done right! When I call to order the gentleman that answers the phone is super nice and we are just huge fans of Carmine's!

  • Andrew Z.

The pizza is so-so, but the service is awful. I went in the evening, when the restaurant was close to being empty and there were no customers in line. I waited in line to place my order, but the manager (older gentleman with short, graying hair) completely ignored me. He was standing in the kitchen looking down at something. He looked up and made eye contact with me, didn't say a word or acknowledge me, and then continued to look down. There was another employee there as well who also completely ignored me. I stood around for maybe 5 minutes before I felt insulted enough to walk out. I have written off this restaurant and refuse to give them any more of my business.

We ordered a grilled chicken and goat cheese pizza for a delivery. It came just right on time but somehow the pizza we got almost gotten cold. Still the pizza was good and we were all satisfied with it. I'm gonna give this one an average for now and hopefully next time I get something better from them.

Pleasant Pizzaria! We didn't order any of the yummy looking options from the menu, but instead created a 20" pizza to please the entire family. Perfect crust & the cheese-topping-sauce ratio was spot on. Reasonably priced and quick service. A nice option in downtown Dallas. We enjoyed our Pizza outside on the patio- people watching and taking in the Dallas Skyline.

I was looking more of a true NY style pizza with the grease and cheese and the lovely. Eh pizza was warm Cheep and good cant complain this isn't NY. They offer chocolate cake which was pretty decent. I would rather be able to place my order and pay through yelp.com instead of having to call in. Ill be ordering from here again.

Found this place after trying other local pizzerias and this is the best in Dallas. To many other pizzerias in Dallas claim to be the best, the oldest and what have you, but this place is truly the best (may not be the oldest). The service is always great and the pizza always hot. I will be disappointed when I move outside their delivery area in the next month, not sure what I will do for quality pizza.

I am a bit surprised by the negative reviews but I guess I have just had a different experience. Pizza isn't my fav in Dallas but its good, cheap, and conveniently located. I have order delivery many times and it was always delivered on time and the people on the phone have always been courteous.

Great pizza, pasta and salads... a group people from the office make the trek there at least twice a month and we usually have a great lunch. This week I found a long hair in my pasta... I didn't say anything and just left it there. And was disturbed to find out later that another friend found one in her pizza. I'll think it'll be a while before I go there... to bad its usually good place.

Came with a group of friends while downtown, and was thoroughly disappointed. The wait was very long, the pizza looked like it had been sitting for hours. The staff was rude and snapped at me to hurry when it was my time to order. We saw the staff pull frozen sandwiches (bread, veggies and all) out of the FREEZER. My spaghetti was soupy and the sauce was watery. Thought I would give this place a chance and will not come back.

Great NY style thin crust pizza and reasonable prices. I have tried three or four kinds of pizza in here on subsequent trips and always was pleased with whatever I selected. I tried the cheesecake once and would give it a three star review.

Awesome little joint downtown! Loved the food, absolutely amazing food. We were the only ones in there so we talked to the employees a little bit who were nice as well. Only complaint they took a slice of pizza off their ending buffet thing and heated it up to give to my brother in law.

Picture yourself in Dallas with a very hungry 16 year old, and it is dinner time... well pizza is the answer and Carmine's more than fit thst bill. BBQ Chichen and Blackened Chicken pizzas with a side of very tasty cheese bread! And did I mention they delivered on a Saturday night in 1/2 an hour. There are pizza gods and Carmine's has a direct line to the place.

Looking for some deliver grub on Monday night, we decided on pizza but I wasn't feeling Pizza Hut or Dominos. Quick Yelp search led me to this place (I think we had ordered from here before?). We ended up building our own pizza. Large pizza with white sauce, artichokes, spinach, garlic, and chicken. Loved the large selection of toppings!! Also went with some bruchetta. Delivery only took about 30 mins! Main complaint was the pizza wasn't piping hot, just warm; thought the bruchetta was still very hot. In any case the pizza and bruchetta were delicious!! Loved all the pesto baked onto the bruchetta. With so many topping choices and a good crust we will definitely be ordering from here again.

Downtown. Where to eat, where to go. Nice that all the food trucks are down by Klyde Warren, but sometimes you need to get away from the shrieking kids and the pains that simply watching someone do yoga does to the hyper-unstretchable yours truly. I wanna sit. And its a quick shot to Carmines. Very good service, quick attentive, and personable. Pizza by the slice, which is HUGE when you have kids who don't remotely like the same thing. Good sized, foldable, thin slices that are more filling than they appear, and there was a pretty decent variety available for the choosing. Real pizza, made by real hands with real ingredients I dig it.

A friend take me here for lunch, it was a quite afternoon. Hardly anyone there, we both ordered stromboli, it was huge! I couldn't finish all of it, very tasty and cheesy. Looks like a pizza sandwich and the sauce was awesome. I will be back to try their pizza.

Just got back from eating here for lunch. I ordered a slice of spinach pizza. It was okay, tasted like spinach (which I like, so yum) and cheese, but nothing to write home to mom about. My friend and I also split the tortellini pasta (we added chicken). It was bland; I never add salt and pepper to my food but added both plus crushed red pepper. It was also lukewarm (and I like my food warm) which I think made the pasta not taste as good. I think if it was warmer it would have tasted better and might have helped with the pasta which seemed like it wasn't cooked all the way. The slice of pizza was $4 (overpriced) and the pasta was $7 (good price for the portion, but not for quality). I don't think I'll be back unless I'm craving a slice of pizza... but then again the pizza isn't anything special and I could save my $4 for a Subway sandwich which is right upstairs (I work at the San Jacinto building).

Carmine's is great! We go there often on weekends and have learned... It's a lot cheaper to get their monster pizza and have leftovers than to order by the slice. $15 for the entire pizza versus $3-4 a slice. Also, there's plenty of room for groups to dine in. It's a great pie! And is the best New York style pizza in downtown Dallas.

I was visiting Dallas for the week and was looking for a fast lunch option one afternoon and saw Carmines was close and had great reviews on Yelp. I wasn't very impressed. I thought the pizza was okay, nothing special. I think my pizza could have used a little more sauce and maybe more flavor in the little sauce that was there. Maybe even more oregano, which I couldn't find available to me to add. Overall, I found the pizza overpriced for what it was. $4 a slice is pretty steep for a slice of mediocre pizza. I didn't find this 4 star quality pizza, that's for sure. Perhaps, the pizza is better when you get it fresh from the oven.

I eat here a lot when I pass through Dallas. I like it because it's real NY pizza. I've always been treated with nothing but respect in there and they are always happy to see me. I love the way we can get a 20 inch pie in under 10 minutes hot and fresh. Additionally, their soda fountain blends are actually REALLY good...very carbonated, cold, and sweet. Fellow reviewers, PLEASE don't compare locally crafted pizza to commercial garbage like Dominos and Papa Johns! It makes you look like you have no taste in food!

  • Jessica D.

1/2 Mushroom pizza and 1/2 cheese along with pepperoni cheese sticks.... Faboo! Little 3 yr old girl visiting and 5 yr old could not stop eating after a day in the pool. Had it delivered to the Hilton. Came fresh, hot and in a timely manner. NY style. Dough was soft and delicious. Best pizza in a long time and great prices!

  • Luis E.

Its definitely New York/Jersey style pizza. Only problem though is that this is the lower quality type. Actually, it reminded me of the corner place by the Port Authority in NYC near the Lincoln tunnel exit where people go to after the club because its one of the few places open at 3-4 in the morning.

It's funny that to get really higher marks on Yelps it has to be a new concept or a brand new opening. This place has been open now for 30 years making homemade pastas, excellent pizza's and one of the best Caesar salads in Dallas. It just quietly continues to do everyday what's it's been doing for years turning out quality food at reasonable prices to it's large group of locals. This is not a fancy place, it's large and busy with lots of tables and it's spotlessly clean. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to the table. Don't just experiment with the newer higher priced places, try this tried and true proven place. I think you'll like it. Ooops! This revue was meant for the Campbell location.

Staying at a nearby hotel and had a pizza craving. Walked to Carmine's. I ordered a Caesar salad and a small cheese and mushroom pizza. The salad came fast but was too drenched in dressing. I couldn't eat it. Really nice man behind the register but was too busy to notice or inquire about my uneaten salad. The pizza was delish though. Crispy and gooey. Brought half back to the hotel and realized I had no fridge. Bummer.

I've been walking past Carmine's for months now as I head to the elevators to go to my gym in the same building and the place is always open and it always has people in it. It has the look of what I remember of a popular NYC pizzeria. I've always wanted to stop by and check it out, but it always seemed counter productive to get pizza right after the gym. But in honor of the cuarentesima, I stopped by this past Friday. And OH MY GAWD!!! It was soooo sooo good. I figured since I'd just done 30 minutes on level 13 of the stair master, that I could get two slices. And sooo soooo glad I did. I've eaten a lot of pizza in my life, and this was quite possibly some of the best.

Some of the best pizza I have ever had! Split a large with my brother in law and I didn't want to quit eating! We actually just stumbled on it, we were set to go eat at a Mexican joint around the block, it was closed so we headed here! AWESOME pizza! Price was high, but we'll worth it!

Finally, some good pizza in Dallas! A recap of our previous experiences: Coal Vines had nice ambiance but terrible pizza. Piggy Pie's had no ambiance and mediocre pizza. We walked in armed with coupons printed from the website. Turns out it was from the wrong website for an un-related Carmine's in Dallas. Oops! Luckily, they had coupons on their to-go menus, so we still got $2 off our pizza. Score! They made our 16" cheese pizza quickly, and the pizza was in our belly even quickly-er. :) The crust wasn't as thin as we were hoping, but it was a mighty tasty pie; the crust had good flavor and the sauce and cheese were great. Adding crushed red peppers and parmesan cheese took it over the top and I ended up eating 4 slices... yeah, I'm a pig when eating good pizza, but who isn't? :p Even though there's very little ambiance, we'll still be back for great pizza pie!

Fun place to go, easy to get a seat, but really has delicious pizza and a great variety. it really should be more crowded. compares favorably with some of the better pizza places in Dallas.

Stopped in here for lunch today after visiting the art museum. Decided on a medium cheese to feed our family of 4, thinking pizza never goes to waste at our house if there are some spare pieces left. There were no pieces left. It was the best New York style cheese pizza we've had since moving to Texas. The crust was perfectly chewy and slightly crispy. The cheese to sauce ratio was awesome, not so much cheese it's all over the place, not so much sauce it's dripping from the slice-- perfect. I think we'll try some toppings next time because we will be back!

A great pizza and pasta place for the downtown Dallas business crowd. The food is quite tasty at a good price. Pizza is tasty and the pasta dishes are more than enough for anyone in a sitting. Seating is plentiful, and the food comes out rather quick. A great place to grab a quick bite to eat during lunch if you are working the in downtown area.

DELISH! we had the White Pizza and a cheese. The only down side of the pizze was the slices. You cant call your self NY pizza and slice the 20 inch into 16 slices...we like the big slices that are NY. But elsewise it was delish!

Sometimes when you have a happy-hour-turned-brutal-next-day-hangover, you start craving a massive, greasy slice pizza at 10:30 in the morning. Or maybe it's just me. I impatiently waited for the clock to crawl toward lunchtime so I could hop over to Carmine's and get a slice. And it was everything my poor liquor-addled system needed. Every place I've worked in Downtown has somehow been a stone's throw from Carmine's. It's one of those places that I often take for granted because I normally try to eat healthy. And for us some-what healthy eaters, this place might as well have a skull and crossbones on it. But, every so often I'll be cursed with the urge for a delicious slice and Carmine's never disappoints. The only other thing I've had there is the spaghetti and meatballs which was actually a lot better than expected. Their side salad are a bit of an afterthought which is pretty normal for a pizzeria of this nature...a couple of chunks of iceberg, a few carrot shreds, etc. But really, who (besides me) gets an effing side salad with a (probably) 500 calorie slice of pie? I know, I'm a weirdo.

Frakking fantastic. It's a good thing I don't live or work closer to Carmines, 'cause if I did, I'd be in serious need of gastric bypass. Pizza by the slice is delicious and convenient if you're on the go, just stopping by after a trip to the DMA or wandering around downtown aimlessly (I'm looking at you, tourist mcgee!) The staff is friendly, the food is cheap but tastes like the word "awesome" would if it was physically manifested in edible form. Is this a great restaurant to haul all 40 members your 3rd grader's soccer/hockey/underwater basket-weaving team for dinner after practice? No, it's a tiny space in the bottom of an office building downtown, not Chuck E Cheese, duh. If you want a "NY style" slice in a jif and don't need fancy digs to savor the thin crust glory, hit up Carmines. It ain't Brooklyn, but it is deep in the heart of Dallas and not a plane ride away.

I convinced my husband to go here despite the boring deli atmosphere bc of the reviews on yelp. I regretted it! It was hands down the worst pizza I have ever had. I ordered a veggie slice. He picked up a piece of cheese from behind the glass that looked like it had been there all day. He then put raw bell pepper, raw mushrm and raw zucchini on it and put it in the oven for about 1 minute and then handed it to me. I took a few bites and left it on the table. It was inedible....and its pretty hard to mess up pizza! We are headed elsewhere for dinner #2 tonight! Good thing it was cheap! I really wanted to love this place but def a big 2 thumbs down.

This place is about as good a slice of New York style pizza as I have been able to find in the Dallas area. All the ingredients taste very fresh and they don't skimp on them. The dough is that perfect mix of crispy and chewy that seems to elude most pizza places in the south. Carmine's is also a great value. My fiancee and I both ate well there with drinks for under 20 bucks.

    1. I was told my "special" order (how could a posted menu item be a "special order"?), a eggplant parmigiana sandwich, would take 20 minutes. It took 30 minutes. 2. They burned the bread (not just a little bit-black carbon over about 15% of the roll). 3. The eggplant wasn't cooked; it was mushy. 4. There was hardly any sauce on it. 5. There was no discernible cheese on it (uh, "parmigiana" means melted parmigiana cheese on it, geniuses!). 6. The manager didn't give a crap when I brought up points 1-5. He sorta/kinda muttered "Sorry." as I was walking back tot my table. 7. Of the other nine people in my party (we all ordered separately), most of the orders were delayed, or had problems. I e-mailed to the "Contact Us" page at carminespizzadallas.com I do not have a warm, fuzzy feeling anyone will get back to me, or, if someone does, it'll be a "boilerplate" perfunctory apology, I'd bet. This place sucks; don't go here!

Since moving to Dallas over a year ago with a never-ending craving for great New York-style pizza, I haven't been satisfied... until now. I've tried "the best" Dallas has to offer and have always been significantly disappointed. I decided to call Carmine's for delivery last night, ordered a 20" cheese pie, and am happy to say I will be programming their number into my speed dial! This isn't your "Texas state pizza," your "gourmet" pizza, your deep dish, your Cali-style pizza, or other real-deal impostor. This is huge, thin, greasy, garlic-flavor-filled greatness! Possibly the best pizza I've had outside of the New York/New Jersey area. If you like NY pizza, you HAVE TO try Carmine's. Forget the rest and just trust me. Everything else I've tried in this city doesn't even come close, although I have to say I haven't had them all. If you're not a fan of NY pizza, you're an idiot (and needless to say, you won't like it). Go eat some tofu or something and protest for PETA.

I have only been here twice in the past 5 years that I've worked in the area: The first time was during my first week of work and the second time was today. I now know why I never went back after that first time. Today, the toppings on my pizza were burnt because they left it in the oven too long. The guy taking it out of the oven even hesitated before giving it to me. I took it to my table and it smelled burned as well...I was already in a pissy mood so instead of asking for my money back I just tossed it at that the employee and said "You suck!" No more for this place :-)

Since Pastazios in Uptown closed I have been in search of good NY style pizza. These guys filled the void. I only had the pizza but enjoyed it and will order again.

Okay, this place was a disappointment. Where do I begin?? The mediocre pizza, when we were looking for a pizza experience....the limited choices on the pre-made, cold slices which had been sitting out for who knows how long..... The crabby guy who seemed put out to take our order, and money.... Or possibly my favorite, the dirty chair I had to sit in front of the bathroom door because there was no lock. Bottom line, yuck!!!!!

This is the best NY style pizza in the Dallas area. When I used to live downtown we used to order from this place all the time. I still have yet to actually go into the restaurant, so I can't comment on that aspect. The pizza is very good, never tried anything else.

THE best pizza you will find in dowtown or uptown Dallas. My boyfriend and I moved from NY to Dallas and spent 6 months trying different pizza places. We love love love Carmines. We only order plain, cheese pizza. No need for toppings or other distractions because their pizza is that good. I will miss this place if we ever leave Dallas.

I ordered Carmine's because I was visiting from out of state and wanted delivery to my hotel room. Great service, nice people, awesome food. It was really good and I would recommend it, however the prices charged were not the prices on the Internet and there was a charge that was noted as "extra" on the receipt. They charged about 20% more than the menu stated. But still it was good and I say place your order! The bruschetta is amazing!!

This place was recommended by the Admissions person at the Dallas Museum of Arts. She said she liked the pasta. Ordered the blackened chicken pizza. Mouth full of flavor, the sauce is awesome!! I'll go back and try more. This place has been around forever and the atmosphere says so. I'd like for them to put a little more muscle into scrubbing the tables. The table cloths were dirty and sticky.

We're staying Downtown and are always looking for pizza places that deliver. This place did not disappoint! We ordered the California Pizza, house salad and bruschetta. The bruschetta was GREAT. A really nice pesto, fresh tomatoes and a sprinkling of mozzarella cheese on a toasted baguette (you get four small pieces - enough for one person as a meal or an appetizer for two-three). The salad is nothing special, but not a bad deal for $3. The pizza was generous with toppings and had a great flavor. We are here for a month and will definitely eat this again during our stay.

Good NY style pie. Spicy sausage and pep. Friendly owner and fast service. I stopped in after seeing yelpers comments. As usual, I'm grateful for the information and tips. Fresh ingredients and a nice fountain pop.

My favorite downtown pizza place. Great NY-style pizza with tons of variety. It's cafeteria style line (a la sbarro) but they heat up each slice individually as ordered. And they're mavs fans, legit

I randomly wandered inside and was greeted warmly by the staff. They are very friendly and hilarious. I love that while I was waiting, the staff was mocking and singing along to the radio super crazy. They didn't realize I heard them until I started laughing. Food looks great and I can't wait till I taste it. I'll def be coming back here when I return to Dallas.

I'm a big fan. It's a nice thin crust pizza. Decent sausage, it's no Jimmy's, but it's also not Jimmy Deans. It's not expensive and they have decent pastas and salads. It's not at the top of my rotation, but the people are friendly and the food is good!

Oh my goodness! I live downtown and have been trying out all the pizza places for awhile attempting to find 'the one' for me. Winner. Definitely. Found them on yelp. I'm a cheese pizza kind of girl, and it was perfection. Slightly thin, but a little bit thicker crust - amazing bread dough. Nice and chewy, but still a little crispy on the outside. Yum. Can't wait to order it again. And price was really cheap too! We ordered a med. pizza, ranch, garlic cheese bread and two drinks and it was only like $16! Heck yes.

We went here on a Friday night around 8 and the place was pretty empty. The pizza was good... a little greasy. The service was friendly and generally the atmosphere was like most other "hole-in-the-wall" pizza places.

This place is open until 10:00pm, so I usually go there if I have a long day at work. I like the Cheese Ravioli. Food wise, nothing exceptional but I love the service. It's always quick and the people are very nice!

There are two places in Dallas that make my mouth water thinking about their pizza and Carmines is one of them. The crust is crispy on the outside and perfectly chewy on the inside. There is something about the cheese that makes you think old world, and just the right amount of sauce with a hint of garlic....You gotta try this pizza

i've ordered from carmine's before and i think their pizza is fine. however, tonight i ordered delivery and i am vegetarian so i specifically ordered a pizza without meat. when it was delivered to my house and i took it inside, i found chicken and sausage on my pizza. i called back and talked to the person who took my order, and they apologized for the mistake and they said the delivery guy would come back and take the pizza and give me my money back since it was almost their closing time. well. he didn't come back. and i called to check on where he was about 30 minutes later, and the restaurant was closed. so, while i think their food is good, i'll never go back because obviously their customer service is seriously lacking.

I ordered pizza by the slice and was a little worried - it looked old (it was 9pm) and instead of serving it to me, they took it in the back. I was sure it was going in the microwave and I was going to get old, soggy pizza. That was not the case - they heated it slowly in the oven, and when it came out it was the perfect temperature and delicious. I also had a piece of the cheese bread and it was amazing.

I agree...best NY style pie in the area. They have never burned my food. Have never given me a cold slice either, and I have been there more 50 times over the years. It's also ran by cool guys. If someone gets their food burned and tells the employee they suck...well it was probably kharma at work.
