I enjoyed Zocados, today and had lunch with a friend. The service was great. The margarita on the rocks was wonderful and am still tipsy from it. I tried something new to me and I very much enjoyed my food. I had to box up my lunch and I was sent home with bag of chips and more salsa. Yahoo! It has improved from the last time I ate here. I live in Coyote Ridge.

Enjoyed the ambiance of this place. Went on Friday night and we were told there would be a 20-30 minute wait, but there was a table available at the bar and since it was open seating, we were basically sat right away. It was however hot as hell in this place. Probably 85 degrees in there. They has one little measly box fan in the back of the place, but I wasn't sitting back there so it did me no good. Red Salsa was really good. Solid 8/10. We requested a green sauce but they technically didn't have any. Is this a Houston thing? They brought out what was supposed to be a spicier salsa. It really wasn't that spicy, although it was more tomatillo based. Still red though, not green. Everyone's food looked great. I went with the Mexican Cocktail. It did not say there would be fruit in it (mango, pineapple, etc) otherwise I would not have ordered it. I dont like fruit, i like spice. It was also very ketchup based. Not all that spectacular. Like i said, everyone else's looked great.

Decent prices for great tex mex food! My first experience was pleasant & we will return in the future. We were seated promptly upon entering, although the booths were kinda - cozy. Chips and salsa passed the taste test! (That's half the battle right there). The atmosphere is classy and friendly. I personally found it pretty romantic, although I can't put my finger on why. The decor and the authenticity of it, perhaps? Our waiter was very pleasant and polite - 5 star customer service in my opinion. He made sure we were satisfied, but did not bother us anymore than necessary, something other waiters should take notes on. ;) My bf and I started out with the Zocados platter - which I'd highly recommend. Nachos, flautas, quesadilla, guac, pico and sour cream. For our entrees, I'm an enchilada freak so I had to try the Rey, which was a variety type of enchilada plate. Apparently it sounded really good because my date tried it as well! We both were more than satisfied and had leftovers to take home. I would love to return. There are alot of other menu items I would like to try. But the main reason we will return is for the customer service and the experience. Authentic Mexican food shouldn't be so hard to come by, but at Zocados, you can ensure you'll have an experience to remember, whatever the occassion.

LOVE this place!! Great chips and salsa - very fresh and crispy. The guava margarita is amazzzing (difficult to drink slow!), and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu, including gluten free and vegan items (corn tortillas available, no lard in the rice and black beans, enchiladas can be modified when restaurant is not very busy). Drinks were refilled in a very timely manner (including the DELICIOUS margarita with lime/chilli spice on the rim)! I had the spinach enchiladas without mushrooms with the tomatillo salsa and it was a great meal... not too salty and very fresh. Great tableside guacamole with a unique fresh flavor. Best TexMex I've had in a very long time. Meal didn't feel too heavy, and the alcohol content was just right. I will definitely be back!!

Decided to check out this place, since we basically love next door! Lol! It was a pleasant surprise ! The whole ambience and decor is trendy and romantic and we were greeted immediently. We came in late Friday night around 9:30pm, so it wasn't busy at all. We got a booth to ourselves and our waiter Juan introduced himself! He was great!! Funny, easygoing, & very knowledgable. I got a guava margarita, it was AMAZING! I like guava everything, but it was my first time having a guava margarita & it was great! I also got a chimichanga & the husband got fajitas. Both were delicious and big portions. Definitely gonna share a plate next time! Also-- he got a blood orange margarita which was delicious & strong! Definitely will be back!

Zocados is a nice Mexican restaurant off of Hebron and 121. I was surprised that it was not just Tex Mex but actually pretty decent and more authentic Tex Mex. The chips were fresh and the salsa was extra spicy (yet so good that you couldn't stop eating it). My guess would be due to the jalapeno seeds that were in the salsa. For my entree I ordered the tomatillo enchiladas and they were pretty tasty. The chicken was shredded and the sauce was excellent. Service was pretty prompt considering the party I was with numbered well over 10. If your glass was empty, someone was there refilling it. If you were low on chips, piping hot chips were in front of you rather quickly. Sometimes service can be hit or miss with larger parties but Zocados accommodated us and did not miss a beat the entire lunch.

This place has your typical Mexican dishes but I really did like thier loaded queso. It had all the fixings like guac, sour cream, ground beef. That's my kind of queso! Just a bit over priced for what it is I guess.

The food here is so good, the staff is well trained and the drinks are spectacular. It's slowly becoming one of our fav places for texmex. Gabriel is so friendly.

What a delightful dinner! Upon hearing this was our first visit, the owner and staff went out of their way to make our dinner special. The food was great, attention to customers was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable! We will definitely be returning! The music was also excellent- I was looking for the dance floor! We are excited to have this establishment in our neighborhood!

Sopped by for brunch/lunch while in the area this past Sunday. I was a *little* concerned about the "classy" ambiance listed on here but we forged on. I was in a sundress so I knew I was alright for the time of day. My husband was in shorts, a t-shirt, and flip flops so that was pretty casual. But there was a lady at the bar dressed along the same lines as him so I knew we were alright. Hey, I don't want to look like scrubs, lol. So this isn't a big place. Dark wood and décor...I'd call it cozy with clean lines...if that makes sense. I'd really like to go back for dinner. I think it would be a nice dinner experience. While most of the tables were occupied we were able to be seated immediately without a wait. Our waiter was very prompt and courteous. The chips and salsa brought to the table were good. The salsa was hot - spice-wise. I usually load up on the salsa on a chip but that was not happening here. This was more of a light coverage type of salsa for me, lol. For my meal I ordered the Huevos a la Ranchero off of their brunch menu. This consisted of basically a cheese quesadilla topped with two fried eggs and their ranchero sauce on top. Along with this came refried beans and a small bowl of fresh fruit. My food was very good! I've been trying to find huevos rancheros similar to what I had in Belize 12 years ago and this was as close as I've gotten. Very basic but very delicious. I would definitely order this plate again. My husband had the Diablo shrimp. Very good. I tried some of his shrimp....and wanted more, y'all. These weren't dinky shrimp either. He really liked his food...and I think I would order the Diablo shrimp myself sometime. In total we spent less that $30 for delicious brunch/lunch in a very nice restaurant. We will definitely be having dinner here sometime, and we would definitely recommend them!

First time here. Very pleased with food and atmosphere. Loved it. Will have to come back. The cheese enchiladas were amazing as was the queso and guacamole. Tortilla soup also very tasty!!!! Prices are good too. That's always a plus.

Loved the food but for 750 I expected a fresh lime juice Margarita. Was a mix that tasted like lime Kool-aid. Oh no..

Great Mexican food, not too pricey but what make this place a 5 star is the staff. They are one of the most incredibly attentive, and nice staff I've ever encountered. Whoever is managing this restetaunt is above your average resrauntuer. We've been here several times and will continue to come back. Also the Diablo shrimp tacos are AMAZING!

We really enjoyed Zocado's for lunch yesterday. My husband and I live very close but for whatever reason never tried it. At the end of our meal, we agreed that we had found our new favorite Mexican restaurant! Three of us shared a booth at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday and the place was about half-full, which is always a good sign! The salsa was hot, but great! Next time we want to try the tableside guacamole, as the small portions that came with our plates were very good. Our server was very friendly and one of the managers also helped us here and there throughout our meal. My husband had the Fajitas a la Picosa-- he loved them! Very unique dish, amazing flavor on the beef!! I tasted a bit of it too and was surprised at the smoky grilled flavor and juiciness of his steak. His grandma had the Teresa's Especial, came with a little bit of everything. Lots of food!! She really enjoyed it. I had the Brenda plate. Pork tamale was good but I don't love things smothered in chili. It was very flavorful though. I substituted Verde sauce instead of sour cream on my chicken enchilada and it was amazing. Very good chicken and the enchilada seemed made to order, not sloppy or thrown together. I also wanted to try the borracho beans instead of refried beans, boy did I make a great decision!! We all agreed that the rice was better than we normally get at tex-mex places. They do something called a Zocado's taco which seemed like a copy cat Jack in the Box taco. I am sad to say (as a proud San Antonian) that I prefer Jack in the Crack to this Zocado's taco. It was just too crunchy and plain for me. We weren't planning on getting dessert because we were all pretty satisfied, but my husband's grandma was really excited about the sopapillas with ice cream and chocolate sauce. They were great! The 3 of us ate big plates, had soft drinks, and dessert for $51. Can't beat that! Bottom line: if you're looking for great food, service, atmosphere, and value, head to Zocado's! We will definitely be back!!

Yesterday was my first visit and I really like this place. First, it's really cute and the staff is super friendly. They brought chips and salsa. The salsa is pretty spicy. My husband and I both ordered margaritas on the rocks with salt. They were VERY strong and very tasty. We got a half order of the table side guacamole. It was delicious. Much better than others that I've tried. I got the tilapia with a side of grilled veggies and cilantro lime rice. There was nothing exciting about the rice, but the fish and veggies were great. My husband ordered the street tacos and said they were great. Since it was our first visit, they even gave us a free order of sopapillas. They had lots of sugar and cinnamon and totally melted in my mouth. I'd say this is the best restaurant I've been to in a while.

Absolutely love this restaurant and one of the best Tex-Mex restaurants around. Their salsa and decor reminds me of Mi Cocinas but they are truly unique. Best table side guacamole I've ever had and I'm a picky guacamole eater. They have a wonderful patio area and I love the free "Cheese pie" appetizer (one per table). Even better is they are located right here in Carrollton and was the first restaurant I wanted to go to after a recent surgery so that's just how yummy it is. They have excellent service as well.

  • Erika G.

I got the chipotle creamy chicken and it was delish! My friend got the shrimp cocktail and it wasn't too good, waaay too much ketchup and it was not spicy. Also the waitress barely even came over to check on us and it was a table of 12. Which btw it wasn't even busy. Not such good service but food was good.

    (3)
  • Juby M.

Had the chimichanga, not the best I've had. Had the side of quac and asked for medium spice and it wasn't spicy at all. Had the guava drink. It was good and strong. The service was good.

  • Chris G.

Table side Guacamole is Excellent! Chicken burrito is really good. Ingredients of all our dishes were fresh and tasty took a while to get greeted at the front door. started to think they weren't open yet but, finally someone did come to greet us and seat us.

Tried this new place out because I heard some very good things about Zocados. Service did not disappointment! Everyone is super friendly and very accommodating, especially for large parties. Food was delicious and the table side guac is a nice touch! Will definitely return to Zocados

This restaurant is amazing. Everything is delicious. The service is wonderful. It's a gem in our neighborhood. By everything is delicious I mean the chips & salsa (spicy), table side guacamole, Zocado's roll, shrimp, enchiladas, rice, beans, etc. I haven't been able to try a dessert here yet because I am stuffed by the time my main course arrives.

I've lived near this location for six years and always thought the location was cursed because so many restaurants went in and out of the space. Then I went here and thought this place is going to be a hit. Good food, great service. The food tasted fresh and not greasy. Service was fast but not rushed. I recommend the fish tacos.

    (5)
  • Jason N.

Took a very long time for the waiter to get my order. Took an equally long time for the food to arrive. They were not particularly busy either. Ultimately, the brisket was pretty tasty. However, the dishes were warm at best which ruined a possibly good meal. They deserve a second chance, I just won't be in a rush to give it to them.

I went here with my fiance 1 week ago and we had a great time. Service was fantastic and the food was delicious with generous portion sizes. We ended munching on the complimentary bottomless chips and salsa and sharing the house special fajita plate. Overall wonderful experience with good food, great prices, and excellent service!

Great place for Mexican food! Friendly staff and fast service. Ask for the cheese crisp apetizer when you get there (it's free!) And munch on it while you look over the menu. I had the Chile relleno which was excellent. One thing though, the booths are small. They seat three adults max. For a party of four get a table. They have happy hour from 4 to 7 with great $4 margaritas.

Really good, fun, kid-friendly spot. Delicious food and friendly staff. Loved the guacamole! Don't miss it.

This is a a solid addition to the restaurant landscape in Carrollton. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced and the service was attentive and plentiful. Everyone helped out and no one had a 'that's not my job' attitude. Also, the restaurant is lovely on the inside. The negatives? The tortilla soup, a staple at any Mexican restaurant, was so salty that it was inedible. Also, those eager servers got a little too happy to help and removed beer glasses from our table that were not empty. A big no no! We will for sure be back as the food was pretty good and we had a nice time dining here. Plus, the staff seemed devoted to making the restaurant a success.o

Just ate here for the first time and had a great experience. The waiter (Juan) was very sweet and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful and the waiters are dressed well and in crisp and clean uniforms. Free chips and salsa came to the table immediately and the salsa was actually flavorful and spicy which was a very nice surprise. The beef on the beef fajita nachos was tasty and SO tender. Guacamole was great as well. The only thing I would improve here was the bean soup- it came out piping hot (as did the rest of the food), but the soup was a tiny bit bland. Other than that, we had a great time eating here and will be back soon.

Excellent margaritas another table side guacamole was good too! Patio is next to the playground, unless you have kiddos you'll want to sit inside.

Service was excellent, food was average. I'll go back because it's convenient but not really for the food.

The location is fine and there is plenty of parking. I often wonder if restaurant owners do any research on the demographics of their customers before opening. But, anywho... The menu was not as exciting as I had expected from a Mexican restaurant. They serve regular old Mexican food. Tacos. On a white plate. Nothing fancy. No Fusion. Their website claims to offer the flavor of a five star restaurant, I had to disagree based on what I ate. I have eaten the appetizers - Guacamole, chicken quesadilla and the Mucho Factor sopapilla dessert. The quesadilla was nothing to brag about. It was just chicken and cheese that had sat for too long because the cheese had already begun to congeal. YUCK! The sopapilla dessert was ok, it does satisfy a sweet tooth. I also had brunch. Aye! No bueno! The tortillas were cold. Not room temperature, Cold. The chicken and egg dish was also room temperature, so unappetizing.

This place is the best! We go there often and they know who we are! The food is great and the service is eve better! They always know what we order and the beers that we like! I would highly recommend checking this place out!

  • Kimmie N.

Tasty!!! Staff is a bit under-trained still, but they will still be pleasant and do their best to get you what you want. Food tastes good, portions are appropriate-to-generous. Product is consistent. Offerings are broad. There is a good mix of healthy to go in with the rest of the cheesy/meaty stuff that belongs on every Mexican menu. Their suite is haunted by bad restaurants of the past, but of all the ones that have been here, my husband and I like this one the best! We'll come back again regularly.

Zocadoes is a quaint unexpected surprise in far north Carrollton. The owner and manager are always super friendly and attentive and always open to suggestion. Superior Tex- Mex with delightful flavor and presentation! Amazing ribeye fajitas which are seasoned to perfection! Try the street tacos...amazing! The salsa is great and fresh and the prices are right! Will go there for a New Year Eve dinner to help rIng in the new year! Try it soon and you too will become a regular in 2015 and beyond!!!! Richard

The atmosphere was good. We sat on the patio. Wait staff was attentive. Food wasn't anything special. Very bland. Salsa was good. Would recommend for happy hour, not for dinner.

Been here many times and everything's usually great. Today was a different story. We had a reservation for 9 that they forgot to write down. We usually get the sizzling fajitas and today it took 1 hour and 20 mins to come out. All food came out warm. Service staff is great management sucks.

Zocados is my new favorite! We have been going since it opened, and there service is better every time! My family and I always can find something we like and that's hard with my picky siblings. The staff is the best and we love going for family time!!

  • Randall B.

This is really good Mexican Food! Chili con queso is smooth and top notch. Enchiladas were spot on good and the service was quick and attentive. The table-side quacamole was especially good, with just enough of a spicy bite to keep you honest. Very nice atmosphere and deserving of many more trips.

This is by far our favorite Mexican establishment in Dallas. Great food, excellent margaritas and super nice staff!

  • Natasha S.

Awesome presentation. Failed in final execution which was the food. This location is known to close down so who knows. The inside looked amazing. A little too warm for only 60 degree weather. Waitress was obnoxiously charming and offered us the complementary appetizer for new comers. It was basically an oversized open quesadilla that was pretty greasy. I don't remember what they called what we ordered but in most cases it was botana for 2. It had beef, chicken, and shrimp served with rice, beans, pico de gallo, and guacamole. The beef and chicken had little to no flavor. Maybe the slight taste of an old grill that hadn't been cleaned. The shrimp had nothing but cayenne pepper seasoning. No hints of garlic, onions, or cumin. Very bland. Only thing we could eat was the bed of veggies that was underneath the meats. The drinks were good but over priced considering the size. All and all I won't be coming back. You get more bang for your buck at Cristina's and bigger margaritas.

Wow! Great staff, great food, and great service. We are all about finding that good local Mexican place and this is it! They even gave us an amazing dessert for our first visit. If you are in the area and looking for a place for lunch of dinner, we highly recommend it! Oh, and they have Victoria on draft! I can't tell you how excited I was to find a place that actually has it. So yeah, we'll be here often.

  • Erica D.

Loved it! Really small and friendly staff. I liked how they didn't have a gigantic menu. This is nice because the food they make is better in my opinion. I got the poblano pepper with cheese. Love all of it. I got the tortilla soup. There was no spice to it but I really liked it with the lime. The guacamole is out of this world. The cheese crisp is addictive. The salsa was super spicy and the chips were alright. I will for sure be back. Oh and prices are really modest for how amazing the food is.

After two visits I think Zocados is well worth a try. While the valet parking is a bit pretentious for a Mexican restaurant, especially in Carrollton, the restaurant does have some things going for it. It certainly would be nice for a restaurant to succeed in this location, for a change. We have seen at least five establishments come and go since we have lived in Coyote Ridge. The service is friendly and prompt, if not a bit too prompt. The complimentary "cheese crisp" is nothing more than a large flour tortilla with melted cheddar cheese, but it is a tasty way to start the meal. However, it would be nice if they would bring it to the table AFTER delivering your drink order. On our last visit, we found ours got cold while we waited for our drinks to arrive. And, when it gets cold, it's not so good. I had the beef fajitas, which were good, not great. But, they are the best in Carrollton. My better half had an combo plate, which also, was just OK. The real star is the tableside Guacamole which is made to order. You can order as spicy as you like, or have them leave out the Cilantro (as we did). On our second visit, we made a meal of the Guac! The house Margarita is good, but has a little too much Triple Sec for our tastes. On our next visit, we will request a bit less be added.

  • Brandi A.

Third trip here and they continue to impress us. Small wait today and they come around with nachos to try. Wait is 20 minutes they get you in in 15 min. Service is great no matter the server and the food is on point every time. Have had the combo plates, appetizers and special meals here and always good. Can't wait to come again!

Finally, a Tex-Mex restaurant in this area that isn't a chain, and doesn't suck! This place is great! The service was on point from the minute we walked in the door. Friendly staff and a great knowledge of the menu. Our go to meals at ANY Mexican restaurant are sour cream enchiladas and tortilla soup. Both were wonderful! The soup wasn't too salty, and the chicken appeared to be white meat- very pleased with this! The enchilada weren't mind blowing but they were good! We saw others getting their cheese crisps, but never got one, so maybe you have to ask for it? Who knows. The highlight of the meal was the dessert, the Sopapillias with ice cream and all the toppings (coconut flakes, chocolate and caramel) i believe it's cinnamon ice cream as well. It was divine! Overall this is a great, local tex-mex spot, and we will definitely be back!

Went here on my birthday with my family. Nice decor, nice patio. I had the ribeye fajitas. They were good. The only negative which is a pet peeve of mine is that the tortillas weren't homemade. If you are a Mexican restaurant this should be a no brainer. Service was very good and friendly. The sopapillas with ice cream were great. We will be back. Update from Feb 2015. Service was atrocious - took almost an hour to get appetizer and others around us seemed the same. Hopefully just a one time.

Great place for some good tex-mex and a refreshing cold beverage. The staff is the friendliest around and the food is very good. They have a full bar with TV's, a large dining room, and a huge outdoor patio. We have been here several times (lunch and dinner) and have never been disappointed!

  • Jeremy N.

The munchkin wanted me to give it 5 stars but, it's not perfect. Really good? Yes. Affordable? Yes. Cozy atmosphere? Totally. Will ya leave full? Probably. Is the staff friendly? Absolutely. Give this place a shot.

  • Brett W.

Ask for Sergio and have a creative Margarita. Very fun place and the food is great! The atmosphere is high end Mexican and yes the guacamole is as advertised... Awesome. I don't know how that make it so much better than other similar places.

  • Christy W.

These people have no idea what is going on here!!! The manager is horrible.. We have been waiting for 30 minutes for a table and we went to the bar to get a drink... The bartender couldn't remember 4 drinks!! We had to sit in the bar area and no one has even came to us!! We had to get a server ourselves!!! Wow!! This place is horrible and never coming back!! They are in a good location and need to have good service... Which they don't!! Its mothers day be prepared!!!

    (1)
  • Melissa L.

The server was very nice, almost too nice. The service was horrible. For everything we ordered it took over 15 minutes even for the water. Both people sitting in the same area that arrived later got their food first. There still is not a set drink menu after being open for over two months. The table side guacamole was not good. The manager did give a free guacamole for next time, which was nice. The salsa tasted weird and was not very good. The actual meal did turn out very good (shrimp enchiladas). All in all I probably will never go back here.

Right now, we think this is the best Tex-Mex restaurant in Carrollton! Table-side guacomole was excellent. Received free order of queso when we told the waiter it was our first time there! Didn't expect that! The chicken-spinach enchiladas were fresh and delicious! We were there at noon on a Saturday and, the place filled very quickly. We had leftovers and they bagged them for us..... we walked out without the bag. One of the owners actually ran out and brought it to us as we pulling out of the parking lot! We will return :-)

Went for lunch one day after pulling up to Abuelos and it had been demolished!! Variety of lunch specials! Food was very good (beed enchilada, beef taco and cheese soft taco). Cup of queso was cheesy and the right consistency. Service was good...nothing outstanding but defiantly wouldn't keep me from coming back if in the area!

I love this place! So happy it's right up the street from my new apartment! They have great food, great service (most of them remember my name when I walk in and I'm promptly greeted with a smile!) Plus they have a frequent flyer program where you earn few stuff. (The owner previously worked at Anamia's, so the food is very similar)

This is an upscale Mexican restaurant. The decor is very good and the service was excellent. I also liked that they separated out Tex-Mex food from more traditional Mexican choices. Also unique, in addition to chips and salsa, they offer a complementary open-faced tortilla with cheese, served like a small pizza. They also had very good drinks and a good bar area. I would have given them a higher rating were the food anything but average. None of the four of us liked the table-side guacamole. It was bland. My combination of a brisket enchilada, brisket taco and tamale was average in taste and quality. Mind you, it wasn't at all bad - it was just o.k. Perhaps growing up in the Los Angeles/San Diego area has prejudiced me (with excellent Mexican restaurants), but the food was acceptable, just not great. I might go back again and try different items, as the service and decor were at least very good, and you might give it a try.

Best chimichanga i gave had in a long time! I ordered it with the roast and the spicier cheese sauce. They are always friendly to our 1 year old.

Dined here tonight for the first time with my wife and adult son. There were a few familiar faces. A recognized couple of guys from Anamias. Cool place with nice atmosphere. They were busy tonight, but that's expected on a Friday night. The chips and especially the salsa were outstanding. Table side guacamole was outstanding! Ok here's one if the reasons for the 3 star rating. The frozen margarita was not frozen, not even close. Tasted pretty good tho. I tried a second one and it was the same, definitely not up to par. Trust me, I've had plenty of margaritas all over Dallas. Now to the food. I had the stuffed chile poblano and it was excellent. My wife had a chicken dish with queso and onion fries on top. She said it was delicious. My son had the beef fajitas and said they were very good. Service was lacking. Our waitress was very nice but may have been over seated. We rarely saw her. She didn't seem to put eyes on all her tables. We had to flag her down a few times. The pluses outweigh the minus and we look forward to giving it another try.

How have I never eaten here before now? Best brisket taco I've ever had. Tres leche cake was yummy, too. Replete and happy.

Really pleasant surprise. Loved the food. Very high quality, very good service. Not only will return but we will become regulars. Even the ice tea, which is normally just about plain water, was great. Can't wait to try other offerings on the menu.

Great food. The Staff is overwhelmed when they are full. Took 10 minutes to order a Beer at the bar! Good is Fantastic! Friendly Service! I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are on this area!

Wow everything freshly made and reminded me so much of my favorite places in Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara. The beef fajita stuffed poblano pepper with tomatillo sauce was fantastic. My wife had the bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with cheese perfectly prepared. The overall experience was very good and will be our new our new go to place for Mexican food.

What a wonderful new restaurant! It's been open for about 2 weeks, and our family has eaten there no fewer than 10 times already. It's delicious gourmet Mexican food with outstanding services and affordable prices. Fantastic salsa . . . think Anamia's or Mi Cocina for something similar. The brisket tacos on the street taco plate are my favorite. The brisket is amazingly tender and very well seasoned. Simply delicious! The owners and managers are always super visible and there to make sure that everything exceeds customers' expectations. Be sure to ask for the compimentary cheese crisp that is served with chips and salsa at the beginning of your meal. It's a large, crispy tortilla smothered in cheese. YUM!!! It's our kids' favorite part of the meal. Plenty of parking, beautiful decor, calm and peaceful atmosphere, and delicious food. What's not to love?!

This restaurant has all the elements for success. Both times we have been, the service went above and beyond. On our last visit, our server wrapped up extra tortillas for our leftovers without us asking and also gave us chips and salsa to go. The food is delicious and large portions for the price. If there is anything they could improve upon, it would be to start making the tortillas and chips in house. I would also prefer thinner chips, but of course, that is subjective. It was packed on Friday night which is a great sign. Looking forward to our next visit!

This is a great place to go eat when you craving some good Tex-Mex. Food always comes out hot, and I've never had a bad experience. I've eaten Zocados around 7 times now. My favorite items are: Tortilla soup, ceviche, brisket tacos, sour cream enchiladas, and there fajitas. They have good service & will definitely be coming back.

Really enjoyed the meal. Try the Zocados rolls as an appetizer, they're excellent. The fajitas are good, can't go wrong there. Tonight I had brisket tacos and the brisket was quite tender. If you're looking good Tex-mex give this place a shot.

Delicious! From the house made salsa to the margaritas, every thing we put in our mouths, we enjoyed. I had the chimichanga, the hubs had fajitas and we weren't disappointed. Truth be told, I don't usually order chimichangas. But I was in a mood for something wayyyy off the diet. It was just what I needed. Luckily I like onions because there were a lot! We were warned there would be some but this was wAy more then some. It was half the chimi! Same with the fajitas, onion overload. But the fajita meat was tender and tasty and just The right amount of food. Not to mention the reasonable price tag. My favorite part was the cheese enchilada I ordered a la cart, it's my current addiction and how I judge good TexMex these days. In other words, We'll be back. And next time we're having dessert!

Tried out the new neighborhood Mexican place last night. I was expecting your typical Tex-Mex. Wow was I ever surprised. Amazing upscale fare all freshly made with fresh ingredients. Everything we ordered was just great. Service was a bit slow but they were very busy. I had bacon wrapped shrimp. Cooked perfect . Reminded me of being on vacation in Mexico. This place blows all the other local Mexican places away. Thanks for opening in Carrollton.

Outstanding! Finally, no more 10-mile drives for this style of Tex-Mex! Food is great, friendly staff, nice decor. At the time I wrote this, they have been opened only about 4 weeks and all of the opening day bumps already seem to be worked out. I saw some complaints about valet but don't worry - they tried it but already killed it after some feedback from customers. Give it a shot if you like the Mi Cocina, Anamia's, Cristina's style of tex-mex. It's like that, but better!

We love Mexican food, and are always happy to see good, new spots open up. Was anxious to give this one a try. Been twice now. Decor: Great. Inside and out. Smallish, but well set up and decorated. Very nice feel to it. Upscale look. Service: Top notch. You are swarmed by the masses from the beginning. Everyone seems to want to make sure you are taken care of. Drinks: On one visit, I had 2 of the house margaritas, and I'm honestly not convinced there was alcohol in them. I've gotten more relaxed from Starbucks coffee. They had a good enough flavor in that they didn't taste like pixie-stix, but it's still a $7.50 drink. It should have SOMETHING to it. For .50 cents more, Mi Cocinas house margarita is far superior. From house to top shelf takes you to $11. Seems a steep jump to go from $7.50 to one of the most expensive around just to taste tequila. Food: Good. We didn't fall all over ourselves anxiously awaiting our next visit or anything, but it was good. Chips and salsa are tasty, and they bring a free flour tortilla with melted cheese. Wife had the sour cream enchiladas, and liked them alright. I had the Zocado Tacos (think Jack in the Box Monster tacos.....fried taco), and also liked them alright. Good flavor, but the shell got a little hard. Beans and rice are fine. Mexican Cocktail (shrimp) gets a big ol' "meh". Just didn't have a lot of flavor. For $10, you get a fair amount of shrimp, but it wasn't tasty enough to order again. Pet Peeve: I have no issues with valet. I use it quite often. However, if you block off all the front row, premium parking so as to FORCE customers to use it, we have a problem. Seriously, they blocked off the entire side, both next to the building AND across. I'm talking the very closest spot next to the door, all the way down. Valet is supposed to be a convenience when there isn't anything nearby. But if you are forcing valet so you can park my car 1 foot away, you are LAZY, and forcing me to use your service when I could have parked closer than driving TO you. Quit being lazy, and let people CHOOSE to use valet if there isn't anything close. Overall: Well, I gave it a 3 star. It didn't jump to my "can't wait" list, but it didn't get blech-listed either. We will go back, but I might very well drive away if valet continues to block off the best spots for himself though. However, if I'm looking to have margaritas with my meal, I will probably choose another spot.

Wonderful food, atmosphere and service. The family owned feeling is evident by the service. They recommended the brisket taco which seemed odd but it was fabulous. Highly recommend it.

I was here a week or so ago. The décor of the place is very nice and the server was very pleasant, and helpful to my family and my questions about the food. It was not very busy or at least the restaurant was not very full but the food should not take over 30 minutes in my opinion. However the server did mention that the kitchen was "backed-up", and that's good, because she let us know. I am aware this place is new and have to still work on the "kinks". My family and I enjoyed the food, the rib-eye fajitas, and enchiladas was wonderful! The guacamole was also great, the best from others I've had so far. The server offered us sopapillas, but we were too full. Great service! The only negative I didn't find pleasing was having to hear a few servers on the side complaining about other servers who can't do their job but have tables. The female seems to initiate the conversation to the others-she sounded very unhappy. Granted they spoke in Spanish which I understand, PLEASE take all that somewhere else! Better yet - If your unhappy find another job!. No one needs to hear it. Or to see frowning faces. The other servers were smiling and happy! I would have given this a 2 star, but decided to be fair because the food was good, and the server we had was very professional and gave us great service. I'll be back and will keep you posted!

Fajitas were made of poor quality meat, hard to chew, and raw. When I told the server the meat was raw, his response was, "I kind a like the meat on the raw side." I hope I don't get food poisoning.

We have been here several times. Very good service and everything we have tried has been great. It is nice to finally see a restaurant succeeding in this location! We have been yearning for a decent neighborhood Mexican restaurant, looks like it might have arrived! Give it a try, you won't regret it.

First time in. Food was hot, and service was very attentive. It is typical Mexican for the area, so not real sure what will make it stand out going forward.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
