Fricking awesome beer selection, tried one called Dragons Milk by New Holland which was a super flavorful stout that went down like a liqueur (11% ABV). My date ordered a soup and Bleu Cheese Wedge Salad (2 chunks of iceberg lettuce with a plastic fork and no knife?) and I requested ice water, both of which took 30 minutes to come to us. The lobster bisque was really delicious. But, our overwhelmed server didn't know the beer menu and brought the wrong one. It was Harry Potter trivia night and very busy, which may have explained some of the delay. But 30 minutes?? My date is a huge Harry Potter fan so she was in good spirits. If we had only been drinking, I may have given four stars. The beer variety is enough to bring me back. But I don't think we'll eat again, and will try to avoid trivia night.

This is an altogether great place if you like beer. The atmosphere is fun, and the sud selection is very good. They've got TVs all around, so you'll be able to find whatever game is playing without too much trouble. For those that are a little unsure about beer, or maybe overwhelmed by what's available, this place has you covered in two ways: first, the menu is broken up by color, and lists the ABV, brewer, etc. Very Helpful. Second, they provide a digital menu that helps you sort the beers by style, color, bottle/draft, etc. Very cool, and very useful. If you want to explore beer, this is a good place to do it. In terms of food, I didn't get too deep, just had the pretzel. Not a bad pretzel, though. Service was great. Our gal knew her beer, and was very attentive.

I'm not even a beer drinker. I don't even drink at all! This was just a "It's A Full Moon Somewhere" type deal. I really came for the Seasonal Beer Float but they discounted it. I was looking forward to that, it was (basically) the only reason why I wanted to go there. What I ended up doing was getting the Flights. What it is, is you get 4 shots of beers that are on the menu, for only $10! That's a deal if you ask me. I couldn't even start with what I got because I had my waitress pick them out since I don't drink. But, I can tell you I had one that tasted like coffee, another one with sugar & spice, one with chocolate & caramel and all other types of stuff. It was exciting! With beer, gotta have food. So I ordered the Guinness Brat Sliders. Bratwurst infused with Guinness, peppers, Dijon mustard on a pretzel roll. Went perfect with the beers I had. The experience of what to choose from is what made the place dope. So for all of the beer lovers, THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU!!!!!!!

Great place to hang out and have a beer. We came here after a horrible experience down the road at coppertop saloon. So much better. The waitress had great knowledge of all the beers, made recommendations, checked on us quite frequently and got us another round started before we had finished our first. Very laid back casual. Will definitely be our go to spot to just chillax and drink a cold one. They do rotate their selections so it won't always be the same old stuff. Neat place to come hang out and meet up with friends to drink and talk. The bar is very nice and clean and all the tables were all clean and tidy. They do have a roll up garage type door which allows for somewhat outside seating with bar access. They have food that we didn't try this time but will definitely check it out next time.

Great beer selection as it should be. Our waitress was always checking on us. Beers are a little pricey for me, but not much can be done about that when it comes to craft beer. Nice, relaxing environment.

I'm finally getting around to reviewing this WOB location. I stopped by during midday on a Saturday to catch a match during the first round of the World Cup. The first thing I noticed when I walked through the door was that everyone there (~10 people) all knew each other. We got stares as soon as we walked through the door. A little weird on a Saturday afternoon, but whatever. We sat down at a table prepared to order some food and Peticolas Thrilla in Brazilla. However, after a few minutes, the 1 waitress there was still hanging out with another table. After a few more minutes of being one of the only tables there and still not getting service, I went to the bar to order the drinks, rather than rely on the waitress, who clearly saw we were there. We ordered our 3 pints of the World Cup deliciousness and went back to the table. After another few minutes, we had to physically walk to the waitress to get her attention to order food. The food is the same thing you're accustomed to in a pub. Typical, greasy, and satisfying. It's definitely something you have to throw a beer or seven on top of. After 15 minutes or so of watching the WC half and still receiving stares from the locals, we tossed our money down and went on our way. We'll be back to a WOB, but probably not this location on a Saturday midday.

Went here last night with several friends. Fantastic beer selection. Some on the pricey side but all good. Service was extremely slow at first and then improved. Would definitely come here again.

Before World of Beer (WOB) came to Arlington, I didn't know an "IPA" from a Chevrolet. Now, I'm a member of their "500 club". Just like the name implies, I've had over 500 DIFFERENT beers from all over the world. Once you attain that level, they give you a nice collared shirt with the WOB logo (done tastefully) and they give you a "party credit" which covers beer and catered food of your choice. I invited about 10 friends and it was great fun for all. There are also awards at other levels.. 50, 100, 250, 750, etc... When you hit 100, they give you a HUGE beer mug which you can get filled on Sundays for $1. They usually offer 2 beers to choose from on this, but they have always been good choices. While not a "brewmaster", my knowledge of beer has vastly increased. This is primarily because their staff have been well trained about beer and freely share that knowledge with you. My wife and I have been going once or twice per week since they opened. She is well on her way to 500 too. Also, we have seen a TREMENDOUS IMPROVEMENT in the food. At times, we actually go there for the food. The live entertainment is good and the games are fun too. I guess the only negative is the price of the beer. If you are on a tight budget, make sure to ask the price of a beer before ordering. Otherwise, you could go into "sticker shock" when the bill comes. Having said that, most of these beers are not mass produced "NASCAR" beers (read Coors-Bud-Miller,etc..) and I'm sure they cost way more to produce and distribute.. But I think they are well worth it. I would also like to see better chairs at their tables. The ones at the bar are great and have backs, while the ones at the tables are really padded stools with no back support. All in all, WOB a GREAT place.

Tons of selections here. Great place to go drink. However, its not very "happening". So don't come here expecting to have an amazing party time.

Great place. They have the finest beers in arlington. Great selection. I was here on their 3rd anniversary so they had great specials. Loved it. I totally recommend this place.

Was only there for about an hour. The waitress was at our table every ten minutes! We never had an empty glass. The place was clean and was pretty busy. They had a live band (although I think he was using an autotuner) that was decent. He played good songs at least. They have a ton of beers and is great if you like craft styles.

World of Beers had a good enough beer selection that I was compelled to email pictures to some of my friends who enjoy beer. The bartender was knowledgeable and helpful and took time to answer questions. He did a great job of selecting beers to suggest based on our conversation. I tried the #Wobsarlington mix, pretty much a let the bartender make me a beer suicide and he nailed it. I will definitely be back. Good looking bar, liked the bar seating with a decent bar rail. Will comment on the food next go around.

One of my favorite places to go! My husband and I are members and I think it's just awesome how you can track how many different beers you have tasted! The variety is so vast you can always find something you like. They have beer from just about every country. Everyone there is so knowledgable about the beer! We also enjoy the live music that is played! This is an awesome place to go to after work and just enjoy some really good beer!

This review does come with some stipulations because this would be 3 stars for me if this was in Dallas. Why do I say that? It's because there really is no other place in Arlington that I know of where there is such a wide selection of craft beers (over a 100). As others have stated before me, the prices tend to be higher than what you'd find elsewhere, but I'd say it's still relatively affordable. The wait staff is also hit or miss and can vary between excellent to "why don't I just hop behind the bar and self-serve?". The food menu is somewhat limited, but has an ok selection of bar eats, which I think if perfectly fine given how their focus is more on their drinks. If I'm meeting up with fellow friends who like beer around the Arlington area, I throw this place out as a suggestion first. That pretty much sums up my review of the place. If a Flying Saucer re-opens in Arlington for some reason, this would be revised to a 3. However, for fellow yelpers currently searching for beer joints in the local area, I would be remiss not to recommend this place.

I am no beer connoisseur by any means but I love to try different beers, and that is where World of Beer comes in. I've driven by countless times and thought it was time to change that. When we first walked in we saw a few people standing outside. One guy asked us to show our IDs. In retrospect it made sense, but at first we were like, Oh, ok. This guy wasn't even in front of the door he was outside near the stairs. Anywho. Inside you have to seat yourself. This wasn't clear either. The place is small so we had to walk around before we spotted a table and seat. None of the servers assisted us. We didn't need to be babysat, but it would have been nice if there was a sign that indicated we needed to seat ourselves. After taking our seats, things got much better. Our server, Carrie, was super nice and patient with us. We had no idea what to get. There were so many choices. We told her we like the sweet stuff (aka Angry Orchard Crisp) and she made two flights for us with 8 4-oz shots of different beers she thought we would like. We made a game of it and rated each one. That was our favorite part, in addition to the live music playing upstairs. Our favorites were the Witikerke (very light and smooth, with a hint of sweetness), Left-Hand Milk Stout (dark, espresso-ey and chocolately) and the Sea D Blue (smooth as well with hints of honey---omggggggg). I was hungry so I ordered a Reuben. WOB allows the restaurants next door to deliver. That probably would have been a better choice. The sandwich was good but I have had way better (Jason's Deli, for instance, where the meat is piled over an inch thick). The key to a good Reuben is lots of sauerkraut and corned beef--especially the beef. The sandwich was a little flimsy and when another server brought it to the table, she said nothing but placed the sandwich down (no napkins) which was a little odd. I liked it and I would definitely come back to try something new and for the live music.

I have been here at this location multi times, each time the service was horrible. Takes forever to get service & when presented your beverage of chose tons of head. They have there beverage sections on iPads instead of a book, that had everything in there layed out. Couldn't find a section where the beverage selection was broke down by state & when I asked if they had any Firestone or Rogue or deschutes on draft. Was rudely told its all in the iPad. So I walked out. I don't play around or like being jerked around. Will probably not go back, i have wasted enough of my time here.

I really like this place and love being able to order beers from places Ill probably never go to. The service is good and the atmosphere is nice, clean and inviting. They have plenty of events and live music. I actually joined the rewards program. For $15 you become a member and get a cool WOB t shirt. Then after every 50 beers you get some sort of reward. I am currently stuck at 9 so have a way to go still. Only draw back is that the kitchen often closes early so I have never been able to order food. But I have beer so it sorta equals out.

I really like this place compared to Flying Saucer for it just "feels more comfortable and laidback." Great selection of beer, and you can test try beers before ordering it. Service is good. Outside in the patio, there are games to play like hug tic-tac-toe and the bean bag game. On certain nights, they have live music playing from the 2nd floor. One of my favorite places to be if I don't mind driving out. If you want to chill with friends or have a girls' night out, I would def make plans here.

Tried this place out tonight because my boyfriend is a a huge craft beer fan. We ordered 2 different flights. His was all IPA, hoppy stuff and mine were wheat beers...girly ones :) our bartender was Jason and he was awesome! You can tell he actually has a passion for the beers that he was serving and talked to us about what each one was and even some of the other beers they had on tap. We went in right before close (yes, we were those assholes because we didn't realize they closed at midnight) and he still gave us exceptional service. We will definitely be back soon and we'll be there earlier next time!

There aren't many places where you can visit Brazil, El Salvador, Thailand, and Greece in one evening, but World of Beers let's you jet around the globe from the comfort of your bar stool, all for fare of a cab ride to the airport and back! First, get the app. There's so many beers, and it changes daily, that it'd be impossible to keep a printed menu. The app lets you sort beers by country, type, alcohol content and more. Once you have decided on your quaff, order it from your friendly bartender or waitstaff. I was sitting at the bar and all the bartenders worked together, I could order from any of them and they'd fix me up. It's nice when I don't have to track down a certain person to get a drink. Overall, friendly service, more beers than you can shake a stick at, enjoyed the ambiance. Nothing much to complain about except it's a bit of a hike from Plano. Looking forward to trying the Dallas/SMU location.

For some reason I'd been avoiding World of Beer. Why? I'm not sure. I think I assumed it'd be really loud and crowded and not offer that many ciders. But I'm an idiot and I didn't do my research. Thankfully, some friends invited us out to this awesome spot and we decided to join. So happy we did because it was definitely worth it. World of Beer has, of course, SO MUCH BEER. Adam couldn't have been happier... especially because they let you sample anything on draft, which is always wonderful. Samples are always welcome, but they're extra-welcome when you have an extra hard time deciding what to drink - this is a common affliction when you suddenly have access to beer that you don't typically find at the grocery store. Yay. But it wasn't just Adam who was happy, I was happy too! Cider-galore. There aren't millions of ciders out there, but World of Beer has a fantastic array of those existing. I think they had every currently-available Woodchuck in their refrigerator. Green Apple, Amber, 802, Raspberry, Pear, and even Pumpkin. Both Crisp and Dry Angry Orchard; a couple Crispins, Ace, Original Sin.... it was so awesome to actually have more than 2-3 options to consider. Thanks, WOB! It was indeed loud and crowded here, but nothing horribly obnoxious, it's just a popular spot. Pretty nice patio with corn hole for your enjoyment. We found a table inside and plenty of seating. Bathrooms are clean, the atmosphere is enjoyable, and they had live, acoustic music playing upstairs inside, looking out over the crowd. I dig it.

One star for every time I threw up after drinking expired beer. Not sure if it was the quantity or quality but I noticed the bottle was expired (after I drank it of course). So watch out! Service was good tho.

I really wanted to like this place. I mean it has all the opportunities for success with tons of TVs, even more beers on tap and what appeared, at first, to be some good menu options. First of all we had to wait about 15 min before even getting our drink order taken (and they were not even busy). I didn't mind the first 5 minutes as I wanted to peruse the lengthy beer menu, but after a while it got annoying. The number and variety of beers on tap is pretty impressive, however they come with a pretty hefty price tag. I understand most are "fancy" microbrews or imports but let's be real, $7 - $9 a pint is a bit much. I almost feel like I'm back in the Northeast when I get charged that much for a beer... Except, this is Texas. Also I noticed on our receipt that they charged $8.25 for one of our $7 beers, so look at the check (especially if you are buying a lot of them). Then the food was brought out, by the cook rather than the waitress... which is fine but like I said, it wasn't busy at all so I wonder what the heck she must be doing all day... And of course she never brought us silverware or napkins so I had to go find my own in a basket near the bar and hunt down a ketchup bottle as well. Finally we get to the food, which really took it down another notch. It's mostly bar/pub style food, which I was longing for in hopes to cure my slight hangover from watching Texas Aggies beat the hell outta the arkansas the night before (WHOOP!).... But to my dismay, it tasted so bland I would have rather just gotten Chik-fil-A on the ride home... Except: A) they don't have TVs ...and B) it was Sunday :(

This was a tough call for stars. I still kinda want to give it four instead of three. I may still. It's a neat place, but I often groan when it's suggested. The location is nice. As other have pointed out, it is not big enough to hold the crowd that it attracts on music nights. It's kind of a pain to find somewhere to sit and there's not a lot of area to stand. What I don't understand is the complaints that no one is there to seat you or tell you to seat yourself. I can't remember the last time I was seated or instructed on where to sit at a bar. Walk in. Sit down. Order beer. At any rate, it's a nice looking place and fairly comfy if you can find a place to sit. And it's too loud (I feel like I'm saying this a lot lately. Hopefully I'm not getting too old.) The beer selection is outstanding. It really is. With Blue Danube and the Arlington Flying Saucer out of business, this is really the only place in Arlington that has depth and variety of this kind. It's pretty great. Waitstaff is hit or miss. The bartenders are usually pretty knowledgeable, but table service has a pretty wide range from great to negligent. Also from knowledgeable to not at all. I find the service usually suffers on music nights and on the patio. Speaking of the patio, if the weather will cooperate it's a great spot. It's a great winter patio as well. The seating is spacious, comfortable, and can get a pretty good sized group feeling close, yet comfy. My main gripe here is the prices. You come to expect this to an extent, but World of Beer seems to price on a whole different level. Other area bars will charge five bucks or so for a beer that will cost over eight here. It's a little nuts and always a mood killer. I mean, they're really the only place in the city that's playing at this level, so they can afford to charge whatever they want because there's just no other competition in Arlington for this much selection. Luckily, we do have places with decent selections and good prices. Basically, I head in every now and again to see what's new and when the weather is nice for the patio. Ah, hell. I'll give it the fourth star. It's a good place, just too expensive.

After a tough day of electronics shopping I needed a drink. Being right around the corner from WoB, it seemed the perfect opportunity to check this Mecca of beer out. First off, I will agree with the Steven S. review in that, "If you like your beer and you don't mind paying the price, this is your place." I was a bit taken aback by the prices, but all was forgiven when the Rahr Bourbon Barrel Aged beer was tapped. OMG this beer was delicious. I don't think I have ever had a dark beer as smooth and as complex as this one. I would come back for it alone. So while I was initially thinking A-OK, after being introduced to the special Rahr, I am indeed a fan. WoB was a worth the visit. Plenty of beers on tap and in bottles. I was surprised that they did not have the one beer I've been looking for for a while (De Verboden Vrucht), so alas my search will continue, but the fact that all the beers are in a nice menu format, makes for fun browsing. Also noteworthy is that getting a sample of the various drafts is not a problem. Nice outdoor seating area too, complete with funky patio heaters (the flame shoots up through the middle). It also looks like there is a trivia night (I think it was a Wednesday on our visit) There are 36 locations... First one was in Tampa, FL. The city of my alama mater. I'll have to check out the original next time I go back.

I've been to this location twice, on Saturday afternoons, and have enjoyed both trips. The bar wasn't too loud or crowded and I was able to pick the beer mind of Dustin, the bartender. While an iPad loaded with information related to the various beers is available, Dustin's suggestions were spot on. I've had the Reuben sandwich both times that I've been to the bar. It's on par with what I've eaten at Jason's Deli or McAlister's. The cole slaw is excellent. If you're looking for a spot to watch a sporting event, this is the place. There are TVs everywhere. The price of the beer may be too steep for some people, however they do run specials. Expand your beer knowledge and palate!

As the name implies, you can find all kinds of beers. I usually lean towards the local breweries, which they do carry, but they have so much more than that. It can get crowded at times but service is usually good.

The first to stars are earned just for the name-I love thinking of a World of Beer. Finally a place I can call home! It earns all four stars by being a great destination to enjoy true quality beer. The quantity of choices may not be as voluminous as Flying Saucer, but the options they have are all quality. The servers seems to have a good grasp of the brews and are quick to make suggestions they think will please based on other beers you have enjoyed. The prices are on par with any other establishment of its kind. The outside patio is very nice and a great place to relax with friends. The i can get a bit crowded and they seem to have the upstairs closed off almost every time I am there-but that is a small complaint. If you are in this neck of the woods, do yourself a favor, and come enjoy a great brew and unwind

Really great place to hang. Trivia night every Wednesday hosted by Adam not to be missed. Starts at 7, two 3-game rounds. And they hook you up w WOB gift certificates if you win . The staff are fantastic and make you feel welcome. And they know their shit when it comes to beer. Not a beer connoisseur? Get their app and you'll be picking new beers to try in no time. The app allows you to filter down their current selection by color, country, style, % alcohol by volume, and by what you have/haven't personally had before. It will also let you save a list of favorite beers and keep tasting notes. The food is original and delicious...good enough to be served in a restaurant, but appropriate for a bar. Love this place and think you will too.

I have been here several times, glad Arlington has a beer pub simular to the Flying Saucer. Great selection of craft beer and a pleasant atmosphere. Staff is knowledgeable of the selection on tap. Music was good, at least it was while I was there. My wife just told me to say that she agreed with the above.

I've really enjoyed my few visits to WOB, the number of drafts available is reason enough to keep coming back. But when the weather is right, the patio seating and the outdoor bar is almost perfect for hanging out with friends and trying out beers literally from around the world. While there are plenty of beers from around the world try, I've enjoyed drinking some of the brews from around the United States, California to Maine. There are copious amounts of great tasting beers inside the U.S. The service has been excellent and the bartenders truly know something about beer, which makes finding new beers to try fun. The shear volume of bottled beer is unbelievable. When you walk in, you see coolers filled with bottles and bottles of cold beer. There's a handful of red & white wines on the menu, but don't especially large selection. Don't be mistaken this is a palace of beer.

What do you do when you're hanging out with a couple of beer geeks and have time to waste? You head on over to World of Beer. We went there Thursday night: a nice crowd, but we were still able to get a table for 3 without any problem. Special bonus: it was Ladies Night, so I got to choose from a selection of drafts for just $2. Other cool bonus: it was beer bingo, so we were able to be entertained playing for various swag. (I was 1 space away from winning black-out. ONE. SPACE!) I was happy that I got a cider on draft. The guys were happy with a variety of local beers. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. All together, a fun night out. It's a bit outside of our normal stomping grounds, but if in the area I'd definitely return.

Visited here while in the area... Beer list looked impressive but everything I was interested in they didn't have... It happened to be keep the glass night so I guess the trip wasn't wasted... Another note this place does not fill growlers due to some Arlington law

  • Toni K.

So, here's the thing. I don't like beer. Yeah, I know. But after visiting a set up similar to this in California and being pleasantly surprised by the fact that not all beer tastes like liquid nickels, I decided to check out the selection. And, as mentioned, they have an impressive selection. Over 300 to be exact. And they had a couple of my favorite staples (Woodchuck Pear & Lindeman's Framboise) plus a few others that caught my eye. I was also surprised that they actually had a bar menu; when I first looked into it, there was no menu but you could order from any spot in the shopping center and they would deliver it to you. It was a good experience and I'm sure to go again and try a few more beers out. I wish they had more dining space inside, chairs with backs and a larger second floor. The patio is great with some couches and an outdoor fireplace for cool evenings, but with only 3 couches available, they are the first to fill up. So get there early or sit up next to some strangers. Also, a happy hour would be awesome. I mean, if you can't enjoy a beer during the celebratory hours after work with a discount, then what's the point?

  • Renato G.

I'm a fan. When I visit a place with an extensive beer menu, I want to try something new. The servers here are always happy to recommend something based on my preferences, and they usually go a good job of it - I've come across a lot of things I wouldn't really have tried otherwise. I'm not a huge fan of the sports playing on the TVs or the loud music, but I understand that those work for a lot of people. I prefer the somewhat quieter patio seating - you sit there, try new beers, and have a nice conversation with friends. What's better than that?

    (4)
  • Erika K.

So I really wanted to give this place 4 stars, but they really upset my friend so they got knocked down a peg. We weren't really greeted at the door, but were able to find seats really quickly. We sat on the patio which was awesome because it was the perfect night. Within 2 minutes the waitress was over and taking my order. She took time to explain the menu to me and even gave me advice based on my preference. She was AWESOME! The beer menu is kinda overwhelming but the waitress actually seem to know their stuff so feel free to ask them questions. For instance, I love Revolver Blood and Honey and Wells Banana Bread Beer. After having both of those I asked for her suggestion and she brought me DogFish Head Pumpkin. Um wow! this was an awesome beer. Now why I gave them 3 not 4 stars ... first the greeting staff was rude. Second, my friend ordered bucking bock on tap (his 2nd favorite beer) and when it came he told her tasted wrong. We all tasted it and agreed it did not taste like the normal bucking bock. But she didn't listen so he just ordered another beer. I would have liked someone to say they had tried but it was correct... just some acknowledgment of the problem. So in summary great beer and great servers; bad hostess and bad management.

The world of beer is an amazing place to ...well... go drink beer ofcourse. I love that they have over 5000 kinds of beer and I still have 4997 to go if I want to try them all. Food: They only have different types of liquid meals. That's right beer is food! Service: They have a bunch of hoties as servers. Price: Affordable. Some beers can be expensive so choose wisely. Decor: Typical sports bar. Flat screens and stuff. Extras: They often have special events going on that will feature local and not so local breweries. Last time I went it was Stone Brewery and they gave me a free glass. Last week the had 1/2 off on all Texan beers. You gotta follow their facebook or check their website periodically to know what's going on. The dont serve food here, but they have menus of all of the restaurants in the plaza, and usually the restaurant will deliver you the food to the world of beer. Its really cool to have on friend order a burger, another sushi, another pho, and another a burrito. Fun times. This place is cool try it out! :)

Update: Ok, they had Moose Drool, Victory's Summer Love and the chocolatey, spicy brewing of New Belgium's Lips of Faith... this kicks it up one star each... then I went to WoB to see Chris Watson play... WoB's p.a. system broke... so, no music, lose two stars... so, averaging the 1 star with this two star review... 1.5 stars... round to 2. Improvement is improving! Now, that you've kicked-out the children, maybe you can get your sound system working like a real bar -- I'll come back when you Chris Watson play again.

This place is just ok for a beer. Went on Wednesday after work with some buddies. One negative is no happy hour prices. They do have a bunch of beer to choose from the waitress tries to help you make a selection. But she is not much help. They do not have food a negative. But you can order from local places and they bring the food to you. The place is not real big. The patio is not great. The beer is 7 to 9 dollars. I will not rush back but if someone wants to go I would. They need Happy Hour Prices!!!!

Came inside and got a table right in the center. It's seat yourself. Crowd was lively and the live band was ok. But overall, being from queens, ny, this place was fun. My beer, the victory golden monkey, was smooth. Plus the margarita flatbread was savory and soft. I'll be back.

I dunno folks, only been here a couple of times, once awhile back to grab a few friends to go eat, and the other when I actually had a chance to sit down and have a couple of beers. Place is nice inside, they have a side sit down bar they open up when weather is nice, and a seating area outside where you can smoke. That's a plus for us, but no shade out there when we went, no umbrellas. Got a little warm, even though it was still cool outside. After my visit, I gauge the place this way. They got a lot of different beers, and it's a good place to go to try out new beers you can't get anywhere else, (or at least, not close by). However, beer prices are high baby! Like a lot of other reviews I read, and it isn't a *small* increase. Here's my example. Revolver Blood and Honey, here it's an amazing high of $8.25 a pint. I won't mention the name of the other place, but I assure you it's a nicer place where at their price of $5.50 for the same thing, I used to think was a little high. I don't mind and can understand higher prices between places, but not what I consider "holy sh*t" higher prices. In my younger days I really liked the Flying Saucer in downtown FTW. Haven't been there since they moved to the 8.0 location, but in it's old digs, I know they had way more beers on tap, *maybe* not as many bottled, but I can't be sure of that. I do know one thing, unless the Saucer has increased prices insanely, I can't see what this place has going for it. It's an okay place, looks more geared towards the really younger crowd, but unless this place had something specific I wanted to try, I wouldn't be making it a place I would visit very often.

Man, been wanting to try this place. when I heard they were hosting a Chive meetup I was there. the place was packed but the waitresses were very attentive to the wife and I, great service. Great recommendations although we stuck with the Texas beers that were on special. I joined the Loyalty Club...achievements for drinking beer? I'm there! There is an app to track your beer purchases as well as help you find your next favorite beer. I'm a long long way from any of the people on the walls with hundreds and hundreds of tastings. I met James the leaderboard holder...1400+ beers??? amazing It's beer, what's not to like!

Staff and management are awesome. Beer selection is unbeatable! Love coming back! Plus they have a nice little patio area for cigars.

This bar has a great selection of beers and you can order from some of the restaurants nearby and they will deliver to you. It's a bit overpriced and the inside is small. Huge patio, but once it gets cold you will be cramped with other freezing bodies inside. Arlington really needed a place like this, so if you're from this area and don't want to drive all the way to saucer or other gastropubs in Dallas for craft beer, WOB might do.

Great beer selection. Very knowledgeable staff. They have great live trivia on Wednesday nights and brewery bingo on Thursdays.

There is no place quite like World of Beer. As a beer drinker, I was finding it more and more difficult to locate a place that catered to my taste and could provide something new. Then, World of Beer opened in my neighborhood and my beer woes were over. The staff here is wonderful and friendly and each of them possess a tremendous amount of beer knowledge - something other local beer-bars don't stress enough. If you don't know what you want, they'll ask a few key questions and return to you a beer that is almost guaranteed to work with your palate. The management staff is excellent and quick to address any issues no matter no small (or large). The beer purchaser is top notch. His knowledge of the various beer styles and breweries is legendary and coupled with his intimate knowledge of the byzantine intricacies of Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission laws makes him a perfect fit to keep the beer selection (60 taps and another 400+ bottles) fresh and rotating. The Live Trivia on Wednesday nights is quite entertaining and educational, probably the best live trivia I've played in Texas. The Bottlecap Bingo (hosted by the same guys that do the trivia) is also fun; the host has a great deal of beer knowledge locked up in that scraggly beard of his. Also on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights there's live, local music. I've heard some really excellent bands come through this place. There's no real way for me to recommend The World of Beer in Arlington, TX highly enough.

So many varieties to choose from. They have over 500 beers to choose from and 50 on tap, they have beer from around the world and even local beers. It's a good place to hang out with friends who like to try out new exciting range of beers, good customer service and nice ambiance.

Oh my, World of Beer, finally. Welcome. We're ready. I'm very much square in the aim of these guys, and having been to a WOB in Tampa, the new build out in Arlington is super slick, the beer eccentric and world-wide, and I can't wait to get back in for a pint. It's a cozy, multi-story arrangement, and if you arrive thirsty with a bent toward trying something you've never had before, chances are they can accommodate. What's similar to other bars you may know is, namely, the many varied taps you'll find here. That in itself is a welcome addition to the area but not particularly remarkable or super noteworthy. A conversation with some of the folks behind this place netted something much more valuable, namely, a philosophy that keeps WOB awash in new suds and original suds year-round, specifically when it comes to the taps. They keep one keg of each of their featured brews around, and when it's gone, something new and equally exotic but different emerges in its place. It is, essentially, like waiting for a beer-lover's eternal springtime, when hope abounds. I can't promise you that you'll love every single beer you try that you've never had before....but I'd be surprised if you didn't appreciate the journey nonetheless.

The only thing I can really say about this place is that they do have an excellent selection of beer and one of the biggest menus I've seen. But... -The menu is organized alphabetically instead of by style which was really annoying. -It had a really uncomfortable environment (small tables, high bar stools w/ no backs, sunlight beaming in through the gigantic windows on the front of the building). -Patio section is nice and comfy, but doubles as the entrance so there's a lot of foot traffic coming through. -and worst of all our waitress didn't know an IPA from a stout and was too busy attending a table of 25 year olds in Affliction shirts to bother herself with checking up on me and my husband. I really do love that good craft beer is starting to become more popular and would love to see more places "like" this one to start popping up, I just wasn't particularly impressed with the way they pulled this location off.

Hands down best beer selection in Arlington.Indeed, the bottled selection challenges metroplex beer powerhouses like Flying Saucer. The tap selection is, however, more limited. Some have complained about the beer prices. In fact they are quite reasonable for the beers in question. Lets face facts, you're simply going to pay more for Chimay then Pabst Blue Ribbon no matter where you go. And for that matter, where in else in Arlington can you even get Chimay? You can count it on one hand. World of Beer is located on the Southern corner of a retail strip south of I-20. The space itself feels somewhat cramped, with some available overflow onto a smallish patio, and an equally smallish balcony. On the night I went the balcony was inaccessible due to a band playing there to the masses below. The patio had space, but many of the heaters were out. There is no food service here, but I am told that you can order from certain local establishments who will deliver to the bar. Indeed, on the night I went, Double Dave's Pizza was walking the room passing around samples. Service was spotty at times. Our waitress left at about 9 (what bar changes shifts at 9??), and no other server seem predisposed to step up and take our table over. Also, between the band and the loud recorded music played during the breaks, the "pub" atmosphere that their menu claims they want to foster is largely absent, as it was difficult at best to converse over the noise. But the crowds there nevertheless seemed to eat it up despite all this. I have hopes that a few more weeks in business will see some of these shortcomings addressed, because Arlington definitely needs more places like World of Beer.

When the zombie apocalypse begins, this place might be my second stop. I mean, first stop has to be the gun store. This place has tons of beers on tap and an open door policy with food. You want to bring in a pizza, burrito or sushi, this place wont object. The beer is a bit expensive (especially on tap) and right when you enter you'll notice that there are more wait staff just standing around then people drinking. Also, it doesn't matter which way you look, you'll be watching some sort of TV show. I've been here three times and it seems that most of the customers are in their 50's+. This is not a college bar....yet!

Fu**ing LOVE WORLD OF BEER! I also love beer in general. Get yourself a WOB card for $15 and start drinking your way through all 500 types of beer. You get rewards on the way. My favorite by far has to be a Japanese beer called Asahi, highly recommended!!!! If you're hungry they have phone numbers for the food places nearby and they'll even bring the food to you in WOB, as long as it's not too late. Oh, get some beer shots too, YUM!

Stopped in here on a tip, and damn was it a good one. The staff first and foremost are worth five stars. They are highly professional and knowledgable in each of the 500 beers they serve. They take the time with each guest to guide and suggest a good choice tailored to each guest. The selections are top notch, I've been a beer fan or years and have sampled hundreds of beers, but I was able to find many many new beers to try. Excellent. And FYI rumors of a Greenville location in Dallas are in the works!

I grew up in Arlington, and I can honestly say that WOB does a number on the nightlife in the Agg. Before, the places to go were mostly sports bars, i.e. No Frills and Sherlocks. Now, you truly have a "beer bar" in Arlington. Sure, you could always go to the UTA watering holes, but this drinkery offers something special. I have had more beers than this joint can even list, but for Arlington, this establishment is doing a fine job in bringing the beer culture into town. They offer the standard Magic Hat #9 and Oskar Blues, and these are certainly great places to start. Heck,. they even have a strong bottle list and a 20+ tap wall, to boot. But... if you are a real beer snob, this place may not appeal to you that much. And that is where the atmosphere comes in. Being new, it offers a very sleek but hip vibe with young servers and a real inviting layout. There is an upstairs loft with some awesome live music, a few pockets of seating, and a large bar. Oh, and plenty of outdoor seating. Now.... the best part: as a student, you can get a WOB-U card. They also have "loyalty" memberships and the like. But the simple--and FREE--U card offers 50% on a handful of beers. So, I snuck out with 3 pints for under $13 total. Wow. Mind-boggling. Especially when you see the beers as $7/pint, without the choice for a pitcher. Well, because of the $3 pints, I will most definitely be back when I am in town recollecting my memories in this town, which will always be home. The offerings are nothing extraordinary here, but you will certainly find a beer that is new and very affordable for yourself. Pints only. Come early, stay late, get loud. And drink. A lot of beer. Soon. This joint gets packed.

I keep trying to like this place, but the music is a big detraction. I took my boss there for a Christmas beer. I didn't say anything about the music ... he did, and we left after one beer. Of course, we're both over 40, so it might be an age thing. My boss has a theory. He says the music is intended to discourage the 40 plus crowd and they want to attract a younger crowd. Also, $16 for 2 beers?

Service - 5 Star Food - No Food Ambiance - 5 Star If you like your beer and you don't mind paying the price, this is your place. If you like food with your beer, you can have something delivered from nearby. (they serve no food, here) If you like conversation with your beer, go someplace else or sit on the patio. (they have the music cranked up so much, you can't talk unless you shout out or get close and personal) Great setup. Very modern. Very hip young waitresses who been trained on their beerology. Very big menu of beers. They only have about 20 drafts, but they have over 300 beers by the bottle. This is a franchised idea, and everything is very slick. I would go back just to try some of their interesting selections, but it would just be for a visit. I couldn't afford to make this an everyday hangout (the prices are a little steep) and I still like to talk to my wife while I drink (loud music), but it seems a cool place, nonetheless.

A great place to find a good beer. They will not have your typical Miller or Bud on tap, but have so many other great beers. They rotate the kegs regularly and seasonally so every time you come in, you will be able to try something new and different. Pretty regularly they will have music and a great scene on the weekends. Its a great place to meet friends and to hang out. The outside patio has decent amount of seats with couches, chairs and even a small fireplace going. I would recommend for any beer lover to try out this place that live in the area. I would use it as my beer rotation selection more often if one was closer to me, but will only be able to visit when ever I am in the Arlington area.

The name pretty much sums it up. Nice patio seating with a fireplace. They serve food now and you can also order from the restaurants around there and they will deliver to you. Service is usually good but sometimes it can be crappy with a certain bartender and server.

Funny thing is that I don't drink but I came here with friends. Cons: The food was mediocre at best and they only had cans of pop for people like me not drinking. Pros: the food menu is only 2 weeks old so I'm sure it will get better, cheap cigars, and potentially one of the nicest waitstaff I've ever met.

I've been to this location several times since they opened; have always pretty much had decent service. I went with some friends on April 29th and had the worst service I've ever had there, much less any bar. The waitress passed our table numerous times throughout the night with all of our glasses being empty; in which we had to stop her and ask for refills. Needless to say when we got our check, she was not tipped too well. The next day when I looked at my account, she added an additional $10 to her tip. I immediately emailed the franchise and the corporate office to get the issue resolved; it's now the middle of May and I still haven't heard anything. Watch out for your receipts being altered and check your accounts!

The proof is in the pudding...I'm not sure what that means but I can tell you the pudding is good here. Average bar food so don't expect too much but that's not why you're at the World of BEER! Great selection of local draft beers that alternate often. They have games nights and all sorts of events almost every night. Waitress's can be a little slow but it's a busy place so that's understandable.

I genuinely wanted to enjoy this place, since it's so close to where I normally hang out with friends, I would had loved to add another spot on our list. But after last night that will not be happening. Me and a few friends including my fiance went to WOB for Trivia night, and while the Trivia had its ups and downs the service we received was horrible. My fiance and I ordered two orders of the tater tots; it took them 45 to an hour to bring the order out. And when we got them they were cold. When we asked for sauce it took an extra 15 minutes. We decided to order some dessert. Now unfortunately my fiance has a fatty liver from genetics, and as such he cannot consume any alcohol, among a list of other things, and the dessert we wanted was served with a drizzle of khuluah suace, we asked for the sauce on the side, so I could use as a dip for my portion of the dessert. And I stressed to the waitress how important it was that the sauce was not on the dessert. She seemed to understand and we went about our merry way. Well another hour and a half passed, we decided we weren't going to wait so we told her that we just wanted our checks and to cancel the order. Well this guy, I am assuming he is the manager, he never introduced himself, comes to our table and says, and I quote "sorry for the delay but it's because some one is allergic to khuluah?" And then laughed and said "Who's allergic to khuluah?" I then explained as calmly as I could of my fiance's condition and he rolled his eyes and shrugged "well whatever it's taken off your tab." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Never going back there!

This place has helped me fall in love with many beers.. I just wish the service was better. When the adsorbs Ryann is taking care of you its all good- but most of the other gals are very disappointing. Most of the time I end up at the bar because I'm not getting my beer fast enough. But, I keep coming back, call me a masochist.. but there really isn't anything else like it in Arlington. they have one of the largest selections of ciders in town.. and they even have mead every once in a while. I really love that you can taste anything on tap before you commit to a pint. I've been on a raspberry cider kick for a while now- but when they get new items in I switch it up. I actually also really love the food here- they have a giant soft pretzel you can get beer cheese with, always warm, but they are stingy with the cheese. You almost need to bowls of it for the massive pretzel cause its only about 3 oz. my favorite is the Ale Battered Shrimp- its in the appetizer section- amazing! Crispy, tempura battered skrimps with a zesty dipping sauce. Nom.

Good place to grab a beer and socialize. Tends to be a mid-aged crowd but I've seen a few young couples chill on occasion. They have many beers on tap both locally and international. They bar has quite a few flat screen TVs that you can catch whatever game you're trying to watch, whatever that may be. The waitresses can give you a decent suggestion if you'd like to try a new beer by matching others you currently like. Kudos for that, seriously. They play trivia games once a week and also have bean bag toss available outside to play. Hot coals and fire keeps you warm outside during winter and inside the bar gives a great view of sport games while tables give a casual diner feel. I just don't find myself enjoying other things in that part of town but if I happen to be in the area, at least I know they'll have my favorite local brewery on tap.

  • Jaley H.

This is a nice place to chill. I haven't tried the food yet, but the beer selection is awesome. The bartenders always talk nerdy beer with us and help us pick something out. Overall I like coming here for a few beers when I don't want to drive far from home.

    (4)
  • Angela G.

Okay, I'll admit their beer selection is pretty damn good. But my beer tastes like crap when the atmosphere sucks. Like frat dudes and ugg boots? Then by all means, this is your spot. Where's the dank?? It's next to Pho 95, so I happened to stop by one time when Oktoberfest was in full swing. The waitresses were in the typical German beer girl get up, but one was in an enticing Alice and Wonderland costume. Close enough? I laughed my way through one beer and haven't been back.

  • Larissa M.

They have Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! They also have a huge selection of other stuff on draft and in bottles, but all I had was the Nitro. Because it's fantastic. I have no idea if they serve anything besides beer, but from the name I would assume that they don't. I was also incredibly surprised that there were quite a few people in there at 3pm on a tuesday, since they open at 3, the bar stools were at least 3/4 full, but there were plenty of tables available as well. Service was helpful but not overbearing, and the beers came out in the proper glassware, not overly chilled and just right. If I'm ever back in this area, I'll be stopping by.

  • Chloe F.

Pretty cool concept! Beers from all over the world for the most part, casual atmosphere, the only iffy thing is that when it gets crowded, it's the most annoying place ever. Expect to have to stand for long periods of time when it's Friday or Saturday night. Oh and their house band covers typical abercrombie & fitch-y 90's hits/00's hits and it makes me want to walk right on out sometimes. To sum it up- its a cool place that has potential to get better in the future!

    (3)
  • Greg W.

I will not be going back. They have a Web Site, but they do not know what is on it. They post events, but they do not honor them. I can buy just as many beers at Flying Saucer or the Gingerman and not have to make plans to be at World of Beer based on what they promote only to find it is a BAIT AND SWITCH. There are plenty of other places to waste both time and money AND I make a better Pretzel!

  • Brittany G.

I absolutely love this place and cannot wait for the Dallas location to open! The servers are friendly, they have something for everyone (even my non beer friends) and I always enjoy great brews while I'm there. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because having a live band in such a small area isn't really all that appealing to me as I'd rather enjoy my craft beer and be able talk (not yell) at my friends.

    (4)
  • Katie A.

It was quite packed the night I decided to come here with a few friends, so we ended up on the patio on a chilly night. That sucked, but at least they had a little fire :) They had a live band playing that night I believe and it was just a few extra dollars if we wanted to watch that. Some of the beers are a little pricey, service is good, and atmosphere is that of your typical sports bar. If you like wine as well as beer the red and white (not the dog fish one) is delish. I think this place would be better on a weeknight when it's less crowded since it's kind of small for weekend crowds.

Looovve this place! Finally, a nice bar in Arlington that's not nestled inside a restaurant. The only bad thing is... I wish it opened sooner because it has an amazing patio, with sofas, fire pit, a garage door at the bar for indoor/outdoor drinking. I'm always a fan of a guy playing acoustic guitar while singing pop and hip hop songs :) It also has tons of TVs for sports watching. I think it's non-smoking too, although they do have cigars on the menu. It really doesn't get better than this.

Ehh, went here after some Chipotle to see if it was cool, should have know better when there were like 6 people in the place. Bartender tells me happy hour is dollar off drafts, cool and then charges me more than what is listed on menu, boo, not going to argue over 50 cents. If I want beers I will be going to Flying Saucer, this place won't be open long. sixteen bucks for 2 beers. yikes

Horrible customer service. Just walked in and right back out after spending 5 minutes there. Waitress said Hi and I replied Hi back. Took a seat at the bar and the bartender made 3 trips by me in 5 minutes... never even acknowledged my presence. He does not have the customer service skills to be the busboy.

I live in Austin but grew up in Arlington. When I go home I hate the boring bars. This place is different, fun, and I think the prices are pretty fair. The service was good as well. I would say, it is odd that you have to go outside in the cold to see the selection of winter warmers, but whatever. This will be a new main place I go to when back in town.

Been here a couple times. I live in Keller so I don't find myself passing all the bars in Fort Worth to come to south Arlington unless I'm meeting up with people. My experience both times has been incredibly consistent. Place feels like space is not well used and everybody is cramped. It's not that big of a deal because the patio is very spacious (except when weather interrupts patio use). The biggest problem with the location is the terrible audio system. It is way, way too loud in that place. You can't have a conversation, especially when a band is on. I get that it's the weekend and lots of places are full of music but that's usually not the right setting for a beer bar like that. You can tell a lot of people are put off by it because the patio is usually more crowded than the interior. The beer list is extensive albeit slightly overpriced. One problem with the draft list is that it's not always accurate. There's often new beers on the wall that aren't on the menu. Last weekend when I was there I think a quarter of the taps were not on the list. What I like most about the WoB selection is that even though they are a large chain there is a strong Texas presence in the selection, including stuff that isn't available at other craft beer bars in DFW. They also tend to bring in beers that are hard to find, even when they only get one or two kegs. Those hard to find beers are worth the $7 half pints. If the loudness factor isn't the worst problem it's definitely the staff. Some of the waitresses are very pleasant and provide great service but about half of them only seem to want to serve the largest groups to try to get the most tips. The bartenders are real hit or miss about service. It's like you had to find the right place to order and make the bartender remember you to get consistent service. That's silly. What really grinds my gears is the lack of beer knowledge. I know WoB says they put their servers through a beer school but it must be very limited and the servers must know absolutely nothing else about beer. They can be very rude about trying to correct what you call a beer or using common beer terms if they don't understand it or it's not what they have been taught. The first time I was there the bartender threw a fit because my wife called a particular beer an "ESB" (which it is) but the tap says "ale" and the bartender was insistent they didn't have the "ESB" only the ale of the same name. Ok, well an ESB is an ale, so shut up and pour the beer. Last time there was a cask from a local brewery and I asked if the cask was tapped -- ready to be poured -- and the bartender could only understand that to mean tapped out, as in empty. I understand not everybody is a beer geek and just because you went through training you're not going to know everything but you don't have to argue with people over it and act like you know everything when you are clearly confused.

Atmposhere is pretty nice and love the patio. However, the sound system in this place is like nails on a chalkboard. It's annoyingly loud and is extremely distorted. Beer is also very pricy. Don't think we will be going back unless they make some adjustments.

  • Cameron O.

Great selection but rather poor service. Should I have to reuse a glass from a remaining draft beer for my new bottle of beer? My waitress seemed to think so.... oh well.

  • Michael M.

The selection was amazing, though I was disappointed they didn't have the Deep Ellum brewery that I was wanting to try (but I'm not counting off stars for it). The location is good too. Here is the "but": it is over-priced, and the little blonde server should not be working customer service. At all. She was rude and needlessly combative. Charging too much cost one star, and paying it for awful service cost two stars.

No comparison to Flying Saucer. Smaller selection of beers at higher prices with far less knowledgable/friendly staff. One and done for me. I will give my business to the Flying Saucer
