After years of having this place practically right under my nose, I finally decided to check it out and took my adult stepdaughter and stepson along. It's decorated nicely inside, belying its strip mall exterior. Looking over the menu, the Thai standards were all there. I ordered beef red curry, my stepdaugher got pad kee mow and the stepson got green curry with shrimp. My dish was very good, with a rich sauce. It was maybe a tad light on beef, but it was tender and flavorful. The pad kee mow noodles were a nice al dente and the veggies were still crisp. I only sampled the sauce from the green curry, but it was quite good as well. Prices were moderate and the service was adequate, although water refills were a little slow. All in all, a good experience!

I went to this place because my normal Thai place was closed... I had my favorite papaya salad and thai red curry chicken... Unfortunately I was disappointed.. I asked for spicy but there wasn't much spice at all.. I have thai chilis at home so I doctored up the meal but was still just lacking the great flavor I am used to at Jasmines..

I absolutely love Thai Pan! My husband and I have eaten here at least 20 times. The food is good and the staff are wonderful! You can't go wrong with Pad Thai, coconut soup, or any of the curry dishes. I always order pick up and the employees greet you so friendly and recognize you when you come in. One time they made a mistake with our order so they refunded the dish instead of arguing with this. This excellent client service is why we are devoted customers.

My boyfriend and I eat here at least 3 times a month. The food is never disappointing and we have tried almost everything on the menu ! The staff is also very humble and attentive. Couldn't ask for a better place. Also I can't leave out authenticity!!!! I was the only white server at a thai restaurant throughout college and this beats it hands down !

Lots of favorable yelps led me to Thai Pan. First off, fairly heady incense aroma when you enter the door. Smelled like someone was burning a hippie or something. I was really hungry so I ordered corn patties, Tom yoom gai soup, side cucumber salad and pad kee mow. On the expense report tonight so I'm going for it. (All that for around $20). Tom yoom soup may be the best I've ever had. Very aromatic and full of flavor and chock full of chicken and button mushrooms. Corn patties were great and crunchy good. The side cucumber salad was only $1 and helped cut some of the heat. The pad kee mow was good but not great. Someone in the kitchen got a bit too happy with the onions and almost overpowered the dish. I just picked a few out and plowed on. Service was very prompt and attentive. I had my corn patties and soup within just a few minutes of ordering. I really like Thai Pan and took a little of it home with me.

I go to this place probably five times a month. So, a couple weeks ago I go and I get HORRIBLE service. Some folks they know are there and they are all catering to them. No big problem but it was bad service, so I didn't leave my normal 30% tip. Next week I go eat there and the waitress comes over and tells me "last week you didn't leave me a tip, make sure you leave tip this time." Talk about uncomfortable. I was hungry and didn't want to say anything about how horrible the service was since she would be handling my food shortly... very uneasy feeling... I left a tip but haven't been back since... DISSAPOINTING

Great food... we ordered Satay chicken, Tom kha gai, Curry fried rice & Pad kee mow. They were all delicious
(5)Kirk K.
Read the reviews...lots more positive than negative so I ordered some Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Satay...used Eat24...showed up in about 15 minutes to a completely empty restaurant (always scary)...they looked surprised...found my order and whipped it out in about 5 minutes...Pad Thai ordered medium hot were really good...chicken satay not so good...I think they deep fried them...Peanut sauce was a little oily...I doubt I'll drive there again...

The food taste impressed me and my partner. Coming from Uptown Dallas, we were Si Lom (Oakland) lovers. Now we have an option closer to our new home in Allen.

I'm a huge fan of Pad Thai and well usually order Pad Thai as my first meal at a new Thai Restaurant (new as in: my first time trying this particular restaurant). Since this was a new restaurant for me, I ordered my usual, and was disappointed! What I thought was suppose to be fried shrimp rolls, turned out to be some sort of shrimp spring roll with what I assume is a peanut sauce. The pad thai was spicey but lacked flavor elsewhere and was exceptionally sticky! No soy sauce, or any sauce was offered or given. I would've been happy with some little sauce packets as well. I give this place three stars because: 1) My order was done rather quickly. And the service was good! 2) Even the rolls where not what I had ordered, they were still very good! 3) The Pad Thai, even lacking basic flavor, was still edible. We'll see if I give this place a second chance or not. We'll see.
(3)Paul W.
Value here is second to none. The curry dishes have VOLUME, so its a good idea to share! :-) Fried rice is also very generous and the appetizers do not disappoint. BYOB keeps the overall cost down..all in all a great place for dinner!
(5)Danielle T.
I was looking for a BYOB place close to us, and this place fit the bill. Is the food excellent? No. Is it good? Yes. While my husband's pad thai was just okay, I really enjoyed my curry chicken fried rice. I would skip the crab ragoons; there's a ton of cream cheese that overpowers the dish. That being said, I would pick this restaurant over a more expensive Asian restaurant like PF Chang's because I enjoyed the laid back, family environment and BYOB. There wasn't even a corking fee, which sealed the deal for us. Give this place a try! And go for the fried rice!
(4)Yu H.
I was the only one in the restaurant when I came here around noon on Saturday. I was immediately seated and helped. The service was good, however the food was not. I had the beef and beef ball noodle soup. The broth was very bland there was no salt/pepper/hot sauce on the table for me to add seasoning of my own. The beef and beef ball were both really hard and chewy, as if they had been frozen and reheated which they probably were. Overall, it was just a very uninspiring dish and made me wish I went somewhere else to get pho. Maybe their other traditional Thai rice/noodle dishes are better based on the other reviews, but avoid the noodle soup.
(2)Heather M.
My husband took me here for lunch. We started with the Crab Cream Cheese rolls. I thought they were very good! My husband thought they were a little much with the cream cheese but he ate them! I had the Pad Prio Wan and I would defiantly order this again! It had pineapple, cucumber, carrots, tomato and bell peppers. It was a delicious combination of flavors. My husband had the Thia Pan Curry. His was also very flavorful and tasted delicious! We had the lunch portion and I left feeling stuffed! I can't imagine what the dinner portion looks like! The only thing was when we first walked in the incense was pretty strong. After sitting and getting our drinks we got used to it.

I'd been looking for a place that had delicious spicy basil fried rice since Zenna. This was it. I think I selected very hot - which was below "Thai hot" and it was definitely spicy. Ordered through Yelp, so all I had to do was get in the car and go pick up my order. It was ready when I got there, which is a plus considering Zenna always takes forever. One gripe was there wasn't enough meat in my food. As my homie would say, "They're stingy with the meat." Another gripe? 2 soy sauces and no fortune cookie. Look - don't laugh at me; other places have given me a fortune cookie. Anyway this food is delicious. According to different accounts, the food is better when eaten at the restaurant. I can believe that but I would not want to visit if the table service may or may not be on point. The location is clean and easy to locate and the next time I want Thai... I know this is where I'll go regardless. :)
(4)Toni R.
This byob Thai restaurant exceeded our expectations. We had a red curry dish, yellow curry, and tom yum gai soup all of which were some of the best we've had in plano or allen. Service was good, food was served hot. Prices were very reasonable. This place is great!
(5)Stephen T.
Ordered online, quick to pickup. Ordered very hot spice, it lived up to its name. Staff was polite and quick, food was delicious.
(5)Dennis B.
One of my favorite Thai food places. Always fresh and delicious. Location is small but quaint. Menu is full of traditional's as well as their own version of the classic dishes.
(5)Diane D.
My first visit and used takeout. The service was great and friendly. I had the Pad Thai with chicken and was very pleased. The portion was just right and all the ingredients seemed to be fresh. Will definitely go back.
(4)Gordon C.
The wife has tried forever to get me to try Thai food so we found this place on a whim in an 'out of sight' location off McDermott. Once I entered I was impressed with the decor that looked quite nice. The owner took my order and after I explained I was new to the whole Thai food thing he advised me I could try anything on the menu and if I didn't like it I didn't have to pay. He also gave me a history of Thai food while suggesting I try the Pad Kee Mow or 'drunken noodles' as its called as a result of my likeness for spicy foods. The portion he provided was plentiful, the food was great, but the owner himself was simply incredible.
(5)Aly J.
The nicest wait staff and amazing Tom Kha Gai soup! And BYOB doesnt hurt :)
(5)Stephen L.
A wonderful place to come and enjoy with Friends. The menu has simply a No-Star or 1 star for dishes that could be made hotter. The Chicken Green Curry was delicious and interesting. Wish that there had been more rice to sop up the rest of the delicious curry broth, but oh well. You have to request the check in order to recieve the bill, as I suspect that my party would have been sitting at the table for annother hour before they presented the bill.
(4)R M.
Ordered Thai Egg Rolls, with peanut sauce instead of the sweet and sour it comes with. Very tasty and a reasonable amount for $5. Also ordered the Thai Pan Curry, it was delicious asked them to make it mild on the spices. It came out perfect for my little affection for spice. The Pad Kee Mow was just spicy enough with a great meaty flavor. Enjoyed these plates with a Thai Tea, which was actually tastier than other I have had before. It was not to heavy on the sweetness, which I liked. It didn't feel like I was drinking a cup of syrup. Service was good, and helpful for new guests. Not sure what the normal wait time is, if any. Because it was the night the entire city was covered in ice. There was one other couple that dined next to us, they mentioned they had eaten there before and enjoyed it. The restaurant was very clean including the bathrooms. Loved the way they plated the food, very creative dishes.

First time portion and taste was alright , we came back the 2nd time to see if consistency was okay but was disappointed . Taste and portion was lacking this time. In a while we saw several employees with bags walked in . It looks like they did some shopping for supplies. They must have had a sustitute for cook. That explains the difference . The third time we tried, the waitress is new again . Different waitress on three times , this time waitress was an angry one , confronting us regarding ordering One can of coke that we want to share. I have diabetes and don't drink much soda. Arguing and very combative attitude. We just left never to come back. I wonder if management knows that this waitress attitude is driving customers away.

This little Thai restaurant is right around the corner from us. The food is fresh and tasty. For some reason when we order carry out it isn't as good as when we eat at the restaurant! So we try to eat there rather than carry out. Their pad that, red curry and fried rice are my go to dishes. The kiddo loves their spring rolls! Happy to have this place close by.
(3)Rebecca H.
1st time there. Prices were good and the food was tasty. I had the Pad Kee Maw at a spicy-level of 2 (1-4 scale) and it was pretty potent even though normally I like a kick to my food. My husband's Panang Curry was also very good, and significantly milder even though he also asked for 2. We'll be back there again.
(4)Steve W.
Lousy food, okay service, place was empty on a Saturday night . Right around the corner . It's a shame it is not a good restaurant .
(2)Michelle S.
We have been eating here for years and love it. No it has not been 100% consistent, and once in a blue moon takeout is not as tasty as it usually is, but we love this place. They have changed cooks periodically and some dishes improve and others suffer but overall it's delicious and it's great value for the money. Every time we go there they cater to our kids and make sure they are happy. The rolls, satay, curries and pad thai are delicious. Our out of town guests have always commented on how good it is. We have lived in Asia and visited Thailand many times and we feel this place is pretty close to being back there.
(4)Picky V.
This was one of the worst Thai food experiences I've ever had. The service was amazing, but the food was just awful! The pad-see-ew was a soggy mess! I've never had this noodle dish prepared with a gravy-like consistency! There was no distinction between the overcooked noodles, broccoli, chicken, or eggs. Then there was the bland basil fried rice with chicken. They must've used too much water when cooking the rice because even that dish was soggy! The red snapper was okay, but I've had better at many other locations. At least the restaurant appeared clean and our waitress, Judy, was very sweet. I will not be eating there again.
(2)Alex B.
The food here is very bland and is lacking in taste and originality. I've tried several dishes and have been disappointed every time. It's a shame because the service is great and the establishment is very nice and clean. I simply cannot recommend a place with food devoid of any real taste.
(2)Maya W.
This was a very no frills type of restaurant. Coming from Chicago where awesome Asian restaurants come a dime a dozen, I haven't had much luck finding a non-bland Asian restaurant in Texas. I was very surprised to have stumbled upon Thai Pan, with their full of flavor Pad Prik Khing with chicken. It was chocked full of great spices- red curry, ginger, and various seasonings that exploded upon taste bud contact. I will visit again and try another dish!
(4)Linda N.
Loved the pad see ew and pangang curry so far. I even enjoyed the pangang curry as leftovers. Friendly service. My boyfriend loves the Larb Gai salad. I will be back again!
(4)Sidney H.
I went back today and the food was still good. So I'm bumping them up one star.
(4)Jessica N.
Thai Pan is hidden in a quiet shopping center - it's easy for the Capital One Bank to overshadow its location. However, after today's experience - I'll never overlook it again! A group of friends and I went here to celebrate a birthday. I got the Hawaiian Fried Rice (I know, I know - this doesn't sound like the most authentic Thai dish, but the flavors were spot on!) because I was attracted to a mix of pineapple, raisins and cashews in a dish. All these different textures mixed with Thai seasoning was wonderful, in my opinion. The heaping portion was well worth the price I paid, too! My friends got the Curry Fried Rice and the Pad Kee Mow and the tastes I had of each were great too! Aside from the great food and the generous portions, I'd like to spotlight the exceptional service. If you've read my other reviews, I am big on pointing out how the service of an establishment is, and many restaurants could take a lesson from Thai Pan! Our waitress was extremely polite and gave us the right amount of attention - she took wonderful care of us. We had mentioned our friend's birthday and, without us asking, she brought out a container of delectable fish crackers to give my friend as we were leaving to wish her a happy birthday. Now that's great service and something that will bring back customers! Kudos to you, Thai Pan! And see you soon! :)

We went there few weeks ago and had the worst ever experience in the last 10 years! To start with they saw we came with kids, and gave us seating close to their billing counter that had phone. Even though our kids weren't that loud, they seemed upset that our kids were noisy. We asked for extra helping of rice crispy volunteering to pay for it but they didn't bring any. Both waitresses seemed distracted while taking orders and When we tried to explain the order they brushed us off without hearing us. When one of their waitresses shushed our kid, we got up, paid the bill and walked out! While paying bill also they were rude. In our 10 experience of dining in the metroplex this restaurant staff seemed to be the worst!

This quickly became one of my favorite Thai restaurants. "Eat at home" atmosphere makes this a great place to take a date or treat yourself to a meal out. The food is excellent!
(5)Ingrid A.
The fam & I ordered about a billion entrees to share, and every single one was solid and the portions were large. The Tom Yum Goong soup was delicious, but it was a little bit too much on the sweet side since we asked for it to be mild - typically, this soup is a great mix of sweet and spicy, so ask for it to be a little spicy! The Green Curry was delish! You know how whenever you order curry at a Thai restaurant, it comes with a lot of sauce but very few ingredients? This curry was FILLED with meat and veggies. The Cashew Delight, Pad Thai, Lard Na, Pad See Ewe, and the Hawaiian Fried Rice were all delicious as well. For a family of four + one extra, we came very close to finishing all of the food...so delicious. I love Thai food!!!
(4)Sean R.
A local business with friendly staff. They can pull off spice correctly and you will have 2-3 leftover meals from takeout. It's also extremely casual so I never feel under or over dressed when I dine in. Highly recommended!
(5)Kelly Y.
I was craving some Thai food and just randomly found this place. Food was very authentic and server was very nice. I had Tom yum soup, bayside basil catfish and sticky rice with mango. All of their food that I tired was great!! Tom yum soup was a bit sweeter than other Tom yum soup that I had before, but it was very flavorful. Bayside basil catfish was seasonal I think or I know that it is not on the menu (you can find them on the wall). Also it was a bit salty for me to eat it by itself, but perfect with rice. Last but not least, sticky rice with mango. I personally do not like any sweets with rice, but it was so good! Mango was so sweet and with coconut milk?? It was like heaven!!
(5)R C.
I love this place! Friendly staff and great Thai food! I try to come here once a week. They have the best Thai Beef Salad in DFW!
(5)Renee G.
Yippee!! A Thai place (a) near me (b) that doesn't overcharge!!! I'm so glad I searched Yelp and found this place. They beat the nearby competitors prices by a significant amount, so I took a gamble and went with this place. I'm so glad! I got the green curry chicken and good lord do they give you a lot of curry! I'm not one of those people that is always like omg this is so much food how will I ever possibly eat it all? But...seriously, the curry is a LOT. OF. FOOD. And really really delicious! Good spice, fresh veggies, plenty of chicken, and heats up even better the next day for leftovers. I've never ordered anything else, so I can't tell you about the rest of the menu, but try it! You won't regret it! Now if only y'all would deliver - if I'm too lazy to go out, Tiger Asian Bowl gets my business.
(5)Michael H.
Delicious Thai food for a reasonable price. What more could a college student ask for? I visited Thai Pan with a large party of people without a reservation; I was immediately given a good first impression when the waiting staff was able to seat and serve us promptly. I ordered the "famous" red curry with chicken. The red curry broth itself was extremely flavorful and, with a "medium" spice level, had just the right balance of heat. In addition, the chicken was very tender and tasted as though it were freshly butchered, unlike at many other Thai places. We were sort of rushed for time while dining here, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly and attentively the waiting staff served us. Unfortunately, that means I did not get a chance to sample any of their appetizers or deserts; however, I definitely anticipate coming back very soon to give them a try!
(5)CJ L.
I've been to this place several times and never had a problem until last night. My daughter got some basil fried rice to go and when she got home to eat it the food tasted like the inside of a charcoal grill. You could even see black chunks where it looked like the cook scraped up the bottom of the pan where rice and other food had stuck to the grill. We saved it to return it to them for some kind of compinsation.
(1)Bruce W.
Love their original fried rice with chicken. I get sides of sriracha and sweet & sour sauces and pour them over it.
(5)Kristen L.
Food was great but service was lacking. I ordered the Basil Beef. It was too hot for but the food wasn't bad. It took forever for the waitress to greet me.
(3)Whitney S.
My favorite in Allen, being from the NW I am a bit spoiled in the Asian food department, but this place is great. The portion sizes are perfect for my husband and I, and the prices are very reasonable. The Tom Kha Gai soup is delicious, as well as Nuer Tod. The Panang Curry is good tho I prefer the red with chicken. I have not been disappointed here, as I have been with 90% of the other Thai places in Allen/Frisco.
(5)John H.
I've had a great experience the few times I've eaten here. If you like it spicy, they can turn up the heat! The yellow curry was fantastic and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is tucked behind a bank in a strip mall, but the interior is quaint and clean.
(5)Carliss M.
This place is awesome. My husband and I decided to eat here because of a Living Social voucher. Best Thai food I've had in DFW! AND it's BYOB. The prices are reasonable compared to other Thai restaurants in the area, and the food is authentically amazing. I had the green curry and the tom ka gai soup (sp?)...Delish with plenty of leftovers. And the server was extremely friendlly. My husband's only complaint was that he wished his meal was spicier. The restaurant is a bit on the small side, but it wasn't crowded. A hidden gem that we will definitely be visiting again soon.
(5)Harry S.
Nothing wonderful. We tried the Panang and pad kee mow but not out of the world. The silver Thai, 1mi from there is much better.
(3)Janna D.
I originally gave Thai Pan a 4 star rating however I'm docking them a star. Got the Pad Prik Khing with Tofu tonight. The green beans were cooked perfectly but the dish itself was very greasy with an over-abundance of fish sauce. The sauce was just too heavy. Also, ordered Summer rolls which were fresh and delicious. Would definitely order those again.
(3)G L.
Love this place. Cheap, fast, and YUMMY!!! One of my standards... I go every time I go to Allen, by Allen, or through Allen. =)
(5)Francis U.
I went on a late night and was the only customer, which was a little sad. This is a pretty good Thai place trapped in a bit of an out-of-the-way strip mall. I got the "blooms" appetizer which was not quite what I expected, so only so-so. However, the red curry (my weakness) was fairly good, if a little pale and a little less hot than I like (forgot about the "whiteboy" spice adjust that night). I was pleased to see that the rice was very fresh, however, despite my late night dining and lack of other customers. It was perfectly cooked and just to the dryness of my liking, not sticky and not wet. Overall pretty good!
(4)William H.
Decided to try a new Thai place close to the apartment, and Thai Pan came up on the search. Today we ordered two dishes to-go along w/ a dessert. Chu Che Pla - Deep fried catfish fillet sautéed with red chili paste, kaffir lime leaves, and coconut milk. This is one rich, delicious, simple yet complex dish. The deep fried catfish filet has crispy edges along with the tender flesh topped with the creamy coconut/red curry sauce. I found myself spooning the sauce over each bite of rice. Pad Prio Wan - Original Thai sweet & sour stir-fried with pineapple, cucumber, carrot, tomatoes, bell pepper, yellow onion, and house special sauce. This was a sweet dish with lots of sauce. Good solid dish, but I really enjoyed our fish dish much, much more. Fried Bananas - For $3 an order, this is a great value. I think there were at least 2-3 bananas worth. I wished there was some kinda of sauce drizzled on there, but perhaps they do if you order it dine-in. I'll be coming back for more, the next time we crave Thai.
(4)P H.
I was pleasantly surprised, and a little wary, when I stepped through the door of Thai Pan. The decor is nice and has a more upscale feeling when compared to most Thai places, definitely not a hole in the wall. My go to dish, pad kee mow, had good flavor but the noodles were a bit soft for my taste and I was surprised at the choice of some more western vegetables (not really a bad thing, just different). Other dishes (including a slightly watery yellow curry) were also good, though most seemed to be less spicy than what was expected. Overall good flavors, decent portions, ok prices, and friendly service.
(3)Robert C.
I got some takeout here off the lunch menu: the massamun curry with tofu ($6.95) and the pad se ewe with chicken ($7.45). It was a little underwhelming. The massamun curry was a bit lacking in flavor and depth. I'm not sure exactly how to explain it, but I felt like there was a (relative) blandness to the dish, without the usual richness of massamun curry. The pad se ewe was inexplicably watery and greasy, which made things somewhat messy to eat. The flavor was all right, but it would've been nice not to have had to deal with pools of grease. So while the prices are fair, yeah, it's a little underwhelming.
(3)John B.
My favorite Thai place. All the menu items are excellent. If there is one drawback it is that everything on the menu, labeled or not, is fairly spicy. Personally, I love it, but sometimes friends that I bring here are less enthusiastic...more for me, I suppose. Been told by several Thai missionaries that I know that this place is legit as far as the spices and the food go. The curries are my favorites, especially the red curry and the panang. Pad ke mow is good and the spicy basil fried rice is worth it. The soups are the real winners. They are all good, but the family style po taek (seafood soup) is something special and I really don't like seafood that much. The crispy shrimp tasting rice things they put out for snacks are fun. Weird stinky fruit desert is actually quite yummy, but I can't remember the name. Service can be slow when they get busy, but they have never let me down. They do a nice take out business too, everything always well packed and ready on time. The one time they did not have my order ready when I got there they offered me a free beer at the bar, although I took a coke instead.
(5)Stacy L.
After living half a mile away from this place for nine years, my husband and I finally went a few weeks back. The hostess kindly sat us at a table away from the tables with rowdy little kids (thank you!), and the owner gave us the now de rigeur schtick about the unsweetened water, and how he had to run down to Jack in the Box to get our food. Ha ha. Yuk yuk. The food was very good...my husband had the panang curry, and I had the yum nuah - each had just the right amount of spice, and we loved the decor and the dishes. The portions were huge - I would honestly say one couple could split one entree and just be done with it. We had a lot of food left over, but wound up not eating it even though we brought it home. I will say...although the food was good on the front-end, after-the-fact it gave me the worst gas and bloating of my entire life. I was in quite a bit of pain for a few hours afterwards. TMI? Maybe, but you gotta review the good with the bad. I never bloat up like that at Samui Thai. One plus? BYOB. They even bring out a cooler for the white wine, which is good since the AC in the place is questionable.
(3)Dwane O.
Great food and service. The rice cake chips are great. When they ask what spice level number. Beware they are very hot and when they tell you that its true bellieve it. I ordered a 4 and just about passed out.
(5)N N.
Went here for the first time yesterday. So glad we did! Excellent food, great service and loved it. All employees were so nice and curteous. We've been to plenty of thai places where the servers, etc just kinda give you the food and hardly pay attention. Or they do the minimum work and that's it. They have some of the best food we've had. We're big fans of places like Best Thai. This is right up there. Will def go back. Excellent!!!
(5)Cheen A.
My family and I eat here regularly and we are never dissapointed. This place serves great food and we've tried practically everything on the menu, over the years. Additionally, they have good service and are quite capable of handling larger grpus and families. For some reason, I never have the same luck when I order take away. Somehow, our order is never right and we typically realize that at home.
(4)Jade T.
This is my favorite Thai place to get my fix. I always order the yum nuh (spicy beef salad) and they already know to make it Thai spicy! Kinda sad that they know me so well!
(5)Natalie S.
LOVE THIS PLACE! My husband and I probably order from here at least once a week... so much that the waitress recognizes our voice when we call. I can honestly say this is some of the best Thai food I have ever had. I have many favorite dishes here (even some dishes that, before this place, I'd never tried), but I have to say that my absolute top dishes are the pad kee mow, tom kha gai, and the red curry. Each dish is packed full of flavor and tender, fresh vegetables. I also like that they have true spice ratings, ie if you order a #4 spicy, prepare to start sweating as you eat. The wait staff is attentive and very friendly, and more than once the owner has come out to say hi to us. I feel like they really try to get to know their customers. They make you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. So glad I found this place!

(Entertainment card - buy one get one free entree) Portions are good, however not big like many other places. Pad Kee Mow was very good and spicy. The seafood melody mix was "okay", I will not order again. The service was excellent. The decor was simple, but very nice. BYOB - seriously.

We just tried this place the other night for the first time, and it was good. Not good enough for us to forget about Samui, but still good. The eggrolls were better than average, and the chichen satay skewers were tasty, but the Pad Sey Yew was sub-par. Over all good, I'll be trying more from them in the future.

Noodle and rice dishes are great. Soups are very good except for the thick pieces of lemongrass. Service is acceptable

good food, value for the price. They have good service, and byob keeps the bill manageable.

This is the first time the yelp reviews have let me down. Usually, anything rated 4 stars or more have been fantastic. This place was a big surprise. The service was good and the owner (I think) was entertaining and very friendly. The flavor was fair and their "spicy" was mild at best. My biggest problem is the meat they used - absolutely awful chicken and beef. Extremely tough and obviously frozen without any time to thaw. No one in my party could chew through the beef (which is $1 extra) and the chicken was stringy and very poor quality. We did not try any seafood. The prices were fair as well, about $8-10 per entree, but the food was not worth it in my opinion. If you want thai, try Tamarind at Coit and Spring Creek.

Thai Pan is a very nice family run and family friendly Thai restaurant. The fare is more authentic and a little less Americanized than most Dallas Thai places (my wife is Thai so I take her word for this). Standards such as Pad Thai are very good but branch out if you go and try some of the more unusual dishes. Service is good and the owner is almost always present.

Great place for family or a date. BYOB too. Cozy atmosphere, excellent service and really good Thai food.

Place was cozy and clean. Service was prompt. Appetizer was so so... the entree on the other hand was outstanding. The Red Curry was flaming hot and it felt like I was back in Thailand. Loved it.

One of the best kept secrets in Allen- I hesitate to yelp this place because I would hate for it to become crowded. It's a family favorite of ours that we are proud to frequent and recommend heartily. Service and food are awesome...love the BYOB.

The waiter here (probably the owner) is a nice guy. Pretty cheesy but nice. There is no consistency to the quality here at all. I've had some decent meals here, and some awful meals here. The last time we went we were served rancid shrimp... There is no excuse to not smelling food before you serve it. (The smell was not fish sauce or some other Thai ingredient. We were served rotten shrimp.) In spite of being served rotten food, I gave two stars because they serve pretty decent food 50% of the time, not so great food 40% of the time, and just plain bad food 10% of the time.

Party of nine the waiter was very friendly, he let me put my baby on an elephant chair while she was sleeping. I had called in a reservation and when we arrived they were waiting and had the table prepared for us. It was late so waiting wasn't an issue. We ordered green curry 4/5, red curry 5/5 peanut chicken 1/5 cashew meat 5/5 Thai Pad4/5 (a little greasy) . The restuarant, plates and place settings are beautiful. I nice place I would highly recommend, great service, very friendly staff and good to great food.

Oh Thai Pan.. I wanted to like you but I cannot. My friend and I ordered panang curry and pad mee kow on our first visit. Panang curry was very heavy for me.. Perhaps due to the coconut milk so that didn't go so well. Neither did the pad mee kow.. Oh no. I found a short strand of hair stuck between my noodle. Perhaps it's an eyebrow hair. I'm not sure. Also, both of the dishes were too sweet for me. I hope I'm the only one who will suffer.

Really good! We had the chicken panang curry, and it was delicious. My 8 year old cries, "I want panang!" Wait, let me highlight that, the panang was awesome; lick the bowl good. Okay, moving on, we also had the pork pad se ewe, which was very tasty; I prefer it over the ubiquitous pad thai. The service was also extremely attentive, even though we had a high maintenance diner with us (it happens)--didn't flummox the waitress one bit. We will be back to the point of embarrassment I'm sure.

I have ordered take-out from Thai Pan for the last couple of years. Over time quality of dishes have gone down considerably. I used to love their Green Curry, but lately they seem to be in a hurry and miss the veggies in the curry. The curry is now extremely diluted and watery. Also the egg rolls seemed frozen for a long time before they decide to fry em. Smelled and tasted stale and had to throw it out. With so many new Thai places in the vicinity, I think I am going to give this place a miss for some time, unless they get their quality back up again.

The mister comes here when he's in Allen. Pretty Good! A little bit oily but very nice.

I really like this place. I also really like that it had great service and it is BYOB. The service is as good as it gets for a casual ethnic dining establishment. This place is very good. In general I do not find Thai food in Dallas compares to the NW (Portland/Seattle), California or NYC. It does best Atlanta though. I really like their noodles, pad Thai, Kee Mao, and See Ew. All very good. Last time I had the soup it was not as good as before, but in general it is very good too. Have had the green curry and the Penang and both were quite good, with the green being more authentic. As Carlos C wrote-The seafood melody mix was "okay", I will not order again. I would totally agree that is was mediocre, and overpriced for what it is. Still, that said, it is my only qualm. Lunch saves $1 on each entree. But for dinner this is the real find since the food is cheap and of high quality, with great service and BYOB. When in Plano I am here frequently.

This place is bangin'. I get the Yum Nua (beef salad) almost every week. Seems like it's the only place that actually grille their beef. Their Thai Pan Curry (yellow) is also excellent.

Thai Pan is my favorite Thai Restaurant in Allen, which surprisingly has quite a few. It is absolutely in a horrible location for people to just drop in, which might be bad for their overall business, but it is wonderful for people in the know. There is rarely ever a crowd in there, and the service is great. I have been to Thailand a couple times, so I normally go in asking for my curry hot and spicy, to which I get the "Are you sure" several times when I ask for 5 star spicy. I normally respond by saying, "Yes, you are right... make it 6 star". The cooks have tried their best to smoke me out by adding fresh Thai chilies to the pot, but my asbestos tongue has topped them each time. Their Pad Kee Mow is also really great, but I leave that for others as it is not spicy enough to waste space in my stomach on! The other important thing to recognize about Thai Pan is what a great value it is. Compared to other Thai places close by, this location offers a good amount of food for much less than others.

Best Thai in Allen, hands down.

Loved this little Thai treat! We ordered spring rolls, pad Thai, and red curry. All were great! They have a 1-5 number system for spiciness. Holy moly a 5 is HOT! Next time I will go with a 4. Seriously though, these guys prepare some fantastic Thai food. It's cheap and BYOB too so bring in your fave bottle of wine to wash down this yummy Thai! We will def be back!

While the food here was good, the waitress service was a bit questionable. As I was writing in tip, I noticed my total seemed a bit higher than what I remembered. I went to the counter to ask waitress about this and she told me she included a tip of 15%. Most restaurant only do this with a party over 6-8 people. Considering it was just my family of 3, I was a little disturbed by this. Plus, she charged my credit for a different total than what was originally shown. My intentions were to leave her 18-20% but, since she took matters into her own hands without disclosing the details before charging my card, she lost extra $$ & a customer.

Best Thai/Asian food in town. This is one of those places where you can pick anything on the menu and know it will be good.

Tried this place with family & loved it!! Hidden secret in Allen... Food is great, price is reasonable... Sometimes...little hot inside but they have portable A/C running. Must try place!

since thai is my fave food, i am extremely picky about thai food and very critical. with that said, this place is in my neighborhood and i've tried it several times. sometimes it's good; sometimes it's just mediocre. i will give them credit for balancing the level of spiciness that you ask for your dishes. if you order it not spicy, it won't be. if you ask for a higher level, it will be just what you asked for. pad thai is one of my fave dishes in general, but i have yet to have a good experience with pad thai at this place. the noodles tend to be cooked more than i am used to. almost to the point of being mushy. the fried rice is decent. i've had better, but in the north dallas area, this place is probably the best i've had as far as thai fried rice goes. i give them 5 stars on their soups. i am never disappointed with their soups and they remain consistent with their goodness. the customer service is EXCELLENT and the place is BYOB
