I've been eating at Lakeview since I was a little girl and my parents, along with about 8 other sets of parents, would get together and go to the lake for family-style fish. Some times there would be 14-16 adults, and probably 10-12 children for this excursion; one of the parents would take a head count, call ahead, and tables would be set up and food ready to serve within the 45 minutes it would take (then) to get there. At that time, the family-style was about $2.95 per person. The price has gone up, but.... Several years ago, my son and I had a late lunch here, and he and I both thoroughly enjoyed the food. Last year, my husband and I had a late lunch, and my husband ate catfish (willingly) for the first time in our marriage. (I have to excuse him; he grew up in the southwest.) He liked it. I recently was tasked to find a great place near Reelfoot Lake to hold my high-school class reunion dinner. After finding that one of the mainstays has closed, and the other has gone downhill, I called Lakeview to set up a group dinner. After some discussion, I settled on the family-style dinner, fish and chicken, and made a reservation for 45 people. When we arrived, the tables were set, the pitchers of water and iced tea were on the table, and almost as soon as we sat down, the platters of catfish, chicken planks, fries, onion rings, hush puppies, cole slaw, beans, and stewed apples came out of the kitchen, and kept coming and coming until we had all eaten our fill. I didn't hear one single complaint from any of the attendees at the dinner; the staff was attentive yet unintrusive; and we all had a great meal. I know that every time I return to West Tennessee, I'll make a trip to Tiptonville to have a meal at Lakeview; after all, I need my annual "fix" of catfish. Dottie, the owner, and her staff are terrific, and I couldn't be more pleased.

Big place, I was surprised. Cute, clean, reasonable prices and very friendly service. The food was not bad yet nothing overly special. Basic burger, salad, BLT. Although the fried pickles were pretty tasty! Good alternative from a fast food chain for lunch.

Lots of food! A truly homey and warm experience. I found this place while on a photo shot of the local eagles, and was so glad I did. My server was prompt bringing me drinks (beers) and my glass was were never empty. The food was good, I had the ribeye and with everything it comes with (salad or soup, rolls, cooked apples, onion rings, white beans, and a twice baked potato) it was more then 2 people could eat. It was a good experience.

Delicious. The fish, the onion rings, the hush puppies, the coleslaw, the bread, all perfectly done.

Nothing special. Very nice workers!! Not crazy about catfish so I ordered a burger (basic) and my boys got the pizza (soft).
