Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Not sure why everybody had bad experiences here (maybe it was run by different management or something) but I've been here 4 times while visiting and will keep coming back. Not from here, but I haven't been disappointed with anything yet. The salsa is the best and so are the chips. We went across the parking lot to old town grill just to be different and regretted it the whole time. I almost didn't come here because of the reviews but checked them out on google and they had lots of praises there. So glad I gave them a chance.

Worst Mexican food I've ever had! I got the mozzarella sticks for appetizer and that also tasted bad. What's crazy is that I spent $15 and I could have went to Taco Bell right down the street and spent like $5 and would have been 10 times more satisfied then I was here. Would not recommend to anyone.

Promptly seated, food quality decent, small portions, drinks not refilled basically average.

Honestly, if I could give zero stars I would. WORST RESTAURANT EVER! We went there for dinner tonight with a group of seven people. The server wasn't super friendly but no big deal. We ordered water, beers, some sodas and queso. We got one water (for 7 ppl) after three requests from the now down right rude server. No queso. Our husbands ordered another round of Miller lite draft and noticed that the second round were two completely different colors with the lighter color having no carbonation. It looked and tasted watered down. Our food came out all at different times but we were a big party so we understood. Here is where things get ugly. It was very obvious literally everything we ordered from enchiladas to tamales were prepackaged frozen and looked to have been microwaved to a boiling hot temperature. I ordered chile rellenos but it never came out. I asked about it and the server kept saying it would be right out. After my second inquiry he pointed it out to me... On the same plate as my microwave tamales.. See picture. After I scraped the cheese off I found two 1 inch soggy green "peppers." The server was so unhelpful and unhospitable -at one point even pretending to not speak English- that we were forced to talk to the 'manager.' I explained our weird beer situation and my confusion about the chile relleno. First he told us we didn't know what Mexican food was- to which we replied we were from Texas and absolutely knew what Mexican food was.. He then told us to quote "We don't serve real Mexican food" and that I should have asked the server "what kind of chile relleno" they served.. Are there multiple options?! I asked him to comp the chile and the watery beer and he told me no way and that I needed to "take it up with the beer company." I'm quoting him a lot because at this point our entire table was in disbelief at what he was saying! We paid and left hungry. Undoubtably the worst restaurant experience we have ever had and the rudest wait staff I've encountered. Small town or not, food should be served warm, edible, as described and not watery. Also, portions are laughable and tiny. AWFUL!

Typical mexican food. Absolutely horrible service. You'll sit there for 10 minutes while 5 people walk by you and refuse to take your drink order.

2.5 stars. Portions decent. Salty entrees (which were just ok - standard Americanized Mexican with refried beans and rice doused in cheese). HUGE, cheap drafts. Excellent service and queso!

El Mariachi is a great restaurant, nice traditional decor, friendly waiters, and amazing food. Their cheese dip is the best You will ever eat, it is out of this world! All their food I have tried was great, and the place always seems clean. My family eats there all the time, We abslutely love it, and the prices are fair enough to eat there several times a week. It is also located in a great spot in the middle of town. Everybody loves it that I know, I would definately reccomend.
