We were visiting Nashville & stumbled across this delicious Thai restaurant thanks to yelp! We had the #1 sampler that was yummy! I had the Pad Garpow & my husband had the Shiitake Tilapia. There was no way we could finish it all but it's so good it was hard to stop . The atmosphere was quiet & romantic & the service superb! Sure wish there was one close to Indiana. If we're ever back in Nashville we'll definitely stop in for lunch or dinner.

Small nice Thai place in Smyrna. Had Pad Thai, Dumplings, Basil fried rice. All good. Service can be hit or miss. Its family owned. The servers don't have a dress code or a uniform. Might give a more professional look. Food good Service good but unorganized at times Prices good We will eat here again and you can to..

OMG is the best way to describe my lunch here today. I have tried other Thai restaurant and none measure up. I will go out of my way in future and come here when I have a taste for Thai. Well worth a visit if you like Thai. Sorry almost forgot to mention how good the service is as well.

I had to work late in the area so I decided to order a to go order of chicken pad Thai. I know, it's a boring dish to most but I LIKE IT! Anyway. I used their website to order my food which made it really easy and I was able to pay with my card at the restaurant. After placing the order online it said that it would take about 25 minutes. I think that is just a safe estimate because I came over about ten minutes later and my food was bagged up and ready for me. The restaurant is a little small on the inside. When you enter, there is a hostess stand and then the pickup/cashier is located to the back, right of the store. The young lady who rang me up was friendly and I was in and out in about 30 seconds. I felt the bag and it was heavy! How much do they give you? A LOT. I came back to work a was surprised with the amount of food you get for $9.95. It was very fresh as well. From the shallots to the bean sprouts and cilantro, everything tasted very fresh. The noodles were also cooked well. There weren't sticky and clumpy like some can be. The chicken in the dish was pounded flat and cooked well. There was a nice amount of chicken in the dish as well. I was starving and I could only way about 3/5 of the dish. I'm looking forward to trying other entrees from this place. Next time I need to remember put in the special instructions about the spicy level because I would like it a little more spicy, but it was my fault to not voice it in the online order.

For those who live in the SE suburbs of Nashville, this is a hidden gem. While the name saids Thai, it is not solely Thai food but instead a sleuth of authentic Asian items that could satisfy almost any palette. 1st visit - Shared the seafood clay pot and duck in soup bowl. Both were excellent dishes and we were pleased with the selections. The clay pot serving is HUGE and had a good variety of items (mussels, shrimp, etc) while the soup bowl had good flavor in it. Despite soaking in the soup for 10-15 minutes, the duck was still firm and tasted great. 2nd visit - had the Crispy House Duck. This is a great dish but doesn't quite measure up to my 1st visit - thus the 4 star review. The sauce was very pungent and could be overwhelming if there is too much on each piece of duck. Pet peeve: The rice serving is NEVER enough to complement the ordered dish and they charge $2 for an additional order.

This is my go to Thai place. I've never had an issue with an order and the food is delicious!! My favorite is definitely the green curry with chicken. Second best would be tofu pad Thai! Been here about ten times and will continue to come back!

Thida Thai has been one of my local favorites for some time. Their dishes have always been tasty and full of flavor. The service by the staff is excellent and courteous. If a spicy dish is your thing, the green curry with a spice level of four (Max is five) is a must try. Dine-in or carry out, Thida Thai is a success!

I love this small, intimate restaurant! ... as a small business owner, I'm very particular as to quality and service. I support LOCAL, non-chain restaurants and the food here is as good as it gets. I generally eat 2-3 times a week at Thida Thai. This is a local favorite for business men and a quick, quality lunch. Be warned... come close to opening for lunch or you may have to wait for a seat. Dinner is relaxing and charming. I love their vegetarian Pho and the ability to spice it however I like. I don't understand how a previous reviewer stated their Pho was too spicy when you add the quantity of jalapenos to the Pho yourself. The crispy duck is perfect. Probably the best crispy duck ever. Any concerns I have had in the past about over-saucing or environment have been quickly addressed by the attentive owner Alex. Just absolutely wonderful!

Went for lunch, slightly slow. Had party of 6 took just over 40 minutes to get food. However, if you have the time the food was good

Arrived a few minutes before 2:00. Hostess/waitress didn't seem happy to see us. After she sat us with menus, she came back about 5 minutes later (2:04). I asked if they had any lunch specials because we got the dinner menu, she said (In a nasty tone) that lunch stops at 2:00, I said it is now 5 after and we got here before 2:00, she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I noticed that the clock over the register is set about 15 minutes fast. If you go through that much trouble to stop serving lunch... Why serve it at all? To be fair I started writing this review while waiting for my food and had given them 1 star. The food is a solid 4 plus.. But points deducted for bad customer service.

WAY TOO SPICY AND TASTELESS!!! On our day off my husband and I wanted to eat something new and delicious... We drive around Lavergne, and Smyrna. I got on Yelp and followed the reviews. By husband said this place won't be good. He said nothing that has Thai & Laos combined is ever good. I told him to be open minded and try it so we did. The place looks clean inside. Its small. The waitress/hostess seemed in a rush even though there were only 2 other customers in there. We ordered the Pho (husbands favorite dish) I got the Pak Kee Mao. The pho tasted so watered down all I could taste was pepper and celery! 3 pieces of meat in it and way too much noodle for it. It was so bad :( I told her I wanted my food a 2 on spicy level. Well when I tried my food it was like a 7 in spicy. I kept picking Jalapeños out of my food! I couldn't even enjoy it. It had maybe 5 whole jalapeños chopped up in there. The waitress kept picking up out plates when we weren't done. The total was $26 for tasteless Pho, and too spicy and blah pad kew Mao. Will never go back here again! *if you want authentic Vietnamese Pho try Love peace Pho! It was Amazing!

Updated review: Tried again for a sit-down lunch. I can only assume it was an "off" day for the kitchen on my first visit, because this time was a much different experience. Pad Ke Mow- sooooooo goooooooood!

I ordered the Panang Curry, Vegetable Rolls and Sticky Rice to go. The server was very polite and she was working extremely hard, since she was the only server on a Friday evening. I loved the Panang Curry, the spice and flavor were excellent, the vegetable rolls were crisp and tasty, and the sticky rice was so good. The atmosphere is very serene, except for the large TV, but if one were dining in, sitting on the other side of the restaurant would be a good way to avoid the TV. I do, though, think that TV completely takes away from an otherwise lovely environment, but this IS Tennessee... and Americans & TV... The only other thing I would suggest is hiring an additional server, at least for busy times. The young woman working the night I visited was doing an excellent job keeping up with all the tables, and with updating me on my order, but she was extremely overworked. It would be a shame to see a nice business lose a good employee for lack of appreciation of that employee.

Delicious! We had yellow curry (which I am very particular about) and crispy duck. Both were fresh and fantastic! The vegetables were fresh and cooked aldente and the sauces were very flavorful. The fresh rolls were also very delicious with crispy lettuce and cucumber. Large portions and reasonable prices as well.

  • Melanie B.

The lack of space on the inside of the restaurant makes up for the big flavor! The prices are very reasonable especially for lunch. You can easily eat here under 10 bucks with their lunch special which include curries, stir frys, or fried rice with a chosen protien. Definitely a great deal! The service at times can be slow due to only 1 or 2 servers at a time but again the food...it just makes up for it. I visit this place quite often! You should, too!

Love this place! There are a lot of options but I come for the pad Thai because that's what I like and they do it very well! Service is always friendly and fast and the food is always delicious. It is easy to overlook because of its hidden location but once you try it you will not forget it.

Best thai food in the area. We moved from Dayton and missed our old place, but this place makes of for it quite nicely. I still haven't gotten past the Pad Thai as I absolutely love it. Wife normally orders Pad See Ew which she loves. They have a bacon/rice dish that I can't think of the name of that is fantastic, although I think I can hear the grease clogging my arteries when I eat it. Spring rolls are excellent as well.

I'm going to tell you before I even review it. This is the best Thai restaurant around. Since moving back home from the West Coast, I was having trouble finding a Thai restaurant that satisfied my need to equal sweet to hot. Thida Thai nails it. Every time. Jazz music? Check. Bring yo' girl, too.

This is a MUST EAT AT restaurant. My sister and I were visiting Nashville for my birthday but staying in Smyrna. We read the reviews and knew we couldn't go wrong. The absolute best crab rangoon. The waitress was friendly and very helpful. We asked her to choose the 2 most authentic thai dishes on the menu and brought us Panang Curry and Pad Thai. Oh my word, it was a phenomenal flavor explosion. I wish this were in my home town!

I am not a "yelper" unless it's truly something to write home about and this place surely is!! After searching and trying several less than impressive places, I found Thida Thia for lunch and got the red curry and it was perfect! I do wish lunch had come with a soup and egg roll like most (they could reduce the portion size easily) but that's not a deal breaker for me! Can't wait to go back and try it for dinner!

    (5)
  • Amber B.

Excellent service. Best Thai in the Nashville area, no competition! We went last night, we're going back today, and we don't even live near Smyrna. The red curry was like a dream. The sticky rice with mango was like heaven. Bravo, Thida Thai!

You got to be kidding 18% TIP if you have two or more people, I don't care how good the food is, if the service sucks , I'm not paying 18%. Really bad management decision... Just think of how many people they are turning away for this nonsense surplus fee .What the hell are you thinking? Go elsewhere

Near doctor's offices and Stonecrest Medical Center. Neat, medium-sized interior that is nicely decorated with Thai decorations. There is a Laotian food section on the menu, but I had my jones on for Thai so the Lao food will have to wait. The food is acceptable and portion sizes are generous. The sweet tea is VERY sweet and I asked for some unsweet tea to dilute it. The Pad Kee Mao was well balanced between noodles, veggies and meat. I ordered pork; other options include beef and chicken. They didn't ask me how spicy and I forgot to say, so my food was cooked at a 2 out of 5 on the hotness scale. The Tom Yum Goong was fragrant and made with shrimp and fresh tomato and topped with cilantro. Very nice!

Hands down the best Thai food in Smyrna. Very relaxing atmosphere and friendly service.

    (5)
  • Jay P.

Definitely a great place for lunch or dinner. We have been on many occasions and the food is always superb. The only caveat is that service can be a bit slow, so ensure that you have the time to spend for lunch. The Thai Tea is some of the best around.

  • Gary B.

The landscape of good food in Smyrna is bleak, especially if you want something other than Southern fare. Thida Thai is the only true exception to that rule that I've found. Their food tastes fresh and on point. It's definitely some of the best Thai you can get around Nashville.

  • Shelley B.

I enjoyed my first night so much that I returned the next night! They are under new management and the service, ambiance, decor are greatly improved. But the real improvement is in the food preparation and the presentation. Each dish is carefully plated and is so beautiful when they place it on the table. This place is a hidden gem. Whenever I travel for work to this area I will keep coming back!

This review is from my visit several months ago, but it is still vivid in my memory. I did not order the pad thai with pork but that is what I received after pointing to what I wanted in the menu and correcting the waitress several times. I just gave in. The pork was burnt, hard to do in a proper stir fry. Found out why a few bites in, the pork had spoiled. My meal was over but the rest of my table was having just as much fun as I. One of my party had ordered the duck, he stated that it tasted like chicken. In no universe should a duck dish taste like chicken. My wife and daughter ordered a dish containing "fresh" crab meat, I don't know if they have changed the menu yet but on my planet canned crab cannot be served as "fresh". Misleading menu, inattentive and incompetent wait staff and the worst food I have been served ever. I will never return to Thida Thai, there are far better Thai restaurants in Smyrna than this.

This place is amazing! We have tried many entrees and all are delicious. The green curry is to die for! They prepare your food to your taste ranking its spicyness 1-5. I prefer 1. My husband likes 3. The atmosphere is nice but not fancy and service is excellent. Thida Thai is a rare gem in Smyrna.

I love, love, love, love, love, love this place. I'm so glad our insurance agent is right next door. I might have never noticed it. Yeah, I know, I could have used the handy 'nearby restaurants' section on my Yelp app, but do I think of that stuff? No. Anyway, my husband discovers it one day, comes home and tells me about it, we look it up on Yelp, reviews pass our inspection, we go. It's small, and it has a cute little intimate feel. I've learned after four visits that they always bring you a complimentary appetizer (if you will) of either soup, salad, or an egg roll. I've had dumpling soup, a vegetable soup (if it's called something else and you know what it is, go for it!), an egg roll, and a salad with one of their house dressings. All have been excellent. I can only speak for their pad kee maow since I am now hooked on it, but that dish is fantastic. It's just good. I would eat it everyday if I could. I did try a bite of my husband's pho, and it was also very good. The servers are really sweet and very attentive. After my gross use of adjectives, you had better believe I recommend this restaurant!

The food here is decent, but nothing special rating maybe a 3. But the combination of poor service and an absurd tipping policy is a dealbreaker for me. Do not want...

Pho was not good. The meat is just dehydrated meat.

I was working at a datacenter for one of my clients, and their network folks recommended we go eat here. I was skeptical -- I've been all over the place and have had good thai, and I didn't expect to find some in this area (even though some of the best I had was in the middle of Nowhere, VA). I was totally surprised. The pad thai (extra vegetables, tofu, five stars) was among the top 10 I've ever had. I like my pad thai on the sweeter and saucier side. The sauce was the perfect blend of savory, sweet, and sour, which is what good pad thai sauce really is. It was brimming with vegetables, and it was piping hot when it came out. Although ordered five stars, it came out a solid three.... but not disappointed at all. The complimentary vegetable fried spring roll was mediocre. The soup was also mediocre. The service was slow, especially at the end when we were all waiting for our bill. TLDR: I was ridiculously surprised to find thai food of this quality in Symrna, TN. Pro-Tip: Free Wifi!

my favorite food, pho, is some of the best I've had in Nashville area. Since they close on Sunday, it's best to get pho Tuesday or later, so it can stew longer. Try the lard na, tom kha gai, spring rolls, mee krob, Sua Rong Hai, pho and Yum Pla Muk. The soups are the best already had the pad phed, green curry, and pad thai. I've had better. Service is good, and the place is almost too clean. nice interior touches. Like the ambiance.

  • Hans H.

In the middle of TN working for a customer, I find this gem of a place where the Thai is actually rather authentic and good. My usual litmus test for Thai is the pad thai, and spring rolls and both definitely pass. The peanut sauce in both were excellent and fragrant, and the pad thai had the right balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors with chicken that was not dried out and noodles that held their texture.

  • K W.

Recently changed owners, and the previous owners would have gotten a solid 5. The new management is nice and they have gotten back into the groove of things. The Pad Thai is decent (hard to mess that up) and the Lo Mein is delicious. Lunch can get crowded past noon, so plan accordingly. The new staff can sometime be slow when it's busy, but overall, we keep going back, so it must be good, right?? The lunch special is an amazing deal. You get a soup, small appetizer, and then your entree for less than $8 AFTER TAX. They rotate soup and appetizers on different days, which is a nice change of pace. I think after the new management really gets into the swing of things, they will deserve a 5.

Thida Thai is a very good local Thai joint. The food is dependable and generally always very good. I am a particular fan of the Thai Beef Salad sometimes called "Tiger Tears Salad", and my wife prefers Pad Thai. The service can be a bit lackadaisical as there are generally not more than one server, but other than that it is our local favorite.

This is a hidden gem in Smyrna. Great Thai food. I am no expert on Thai but I know what tastes good! Love their Tom Kha soup and curry dishes! Small interior and not the best ambiance but we typically get takeout.

  • Jessica S.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while, since it's right by my house...I don't know enough about Thai food, and as if trying to prove this, I overspiced my Pho to the point that I couldn't eat it. It looked great and awesome and I'm sad about it so I'll be back to try it again. My Thai iced tea was soo good though. My boyfriend got the Chicken Delight (which we split cause I suck at Pho) and it was great, had a sweet smoky flavor. The place itself is small and clean and too quiet. Our waitress was adorable and bubbly. I will be back, and will probably adjust my review once I've tried some more food.

I love this place! I eat Thai food all over the country and this is one of the best! I had the green curry chicken extra extra spicy and it was phenomenal! It has a Great environment and is well priced. I took my momma and it was her first ever Thai experience ! She is now a huge fan! The owner actually cooked our meal and she was incredibly sweet to us. Can't wait to go back.

I've come in a few times for takeout. I saw a response from management to an earlier poor service comment that perhaps the customer should do takeout instead while the store works to improve their service. Well, the service is no faster or friendlier for take out. I couldn't get a smile out of the woman who took my orders for anything. The first visit or two, I thought maybe she was having a rough day, and I really don't expect much these days in the form of courtesy, but a smile (or please or thank you, even) would be nice and leave me with a better feeling about this place. As for the food, my boyfriends likes the seafood fried rice. I love Thai spring rolls and Tom Kha (sp?) coconut soup normally. Here the soup is a tomato base, which was OK, but not what I expected. The rolls I did not like because I asked for raw/ uncooked tofu and was told I could not get it that way. Cooked tofu is too rubbery to me. Anyway, that's my protein for my meal since I am vegetarian and no other Thai place has a problem doing this, so now I just stick with my tried and true fave Thai Pattaya in the Boro.

  • Dailoc N.

Like most thai places in the area the menu is combined with laos too. I've tried many dishes just making my way down the menu to try them all. I've liked everything I tried and don't have any complaints about the place. The food comes out fast, the staff are real friendly, and the prices are real low. Also, you can make anything you order as spicy as you want, so if you say you want it hot you better be ready!

  • Robert N.

My father and I were in the mood for some Thai food while running an errand in Smyrna, so we Yelp'd on my phone and found this place. I wish that the Cool Springs area had Thai food as good as this! The Kao Pad with shrimp was excellent, and the Tom Kha Gai soup was the best I've had in Tennessee. Also, you can have the food spiced to your liking. The atmosphere is relaxing and the our waitress was friendly.

Thida Thai is a great place to go for a nice, relaxing lunch or dinner. The decor is lovely! The food isn't the best Thai I've had, but it definitely wasn't the worst. The spring rolls are great! The pho is flavorful. The only thing I really disliked was the pad kee mao, which is usually my favorite dish. Just way too much basil, in my opinion.

  • Steve C.

We were in the mood for Thai and working in Smyrna, so I yelped and found this place. It gets good marks for service and cleanliness. The food was really bland. My wife ordered the sea food fried rice and it was rather flavorless. The crab was imitation and the squid was rubbery. I ordered Pad Thai. It was pretty middle of the road. The Tom Yum soup was pretty good. That's the only think I would go back for! Meh..

    (3)
  • Ek V.

Average thai food. Probably better than most around here. Was not happy with the pad kee mao, or the bubble tea, and actually the thai coffee and tea were awful, too. The thida appetizer was good, so was the tom ka gai.

This is one of the best Asian restaurants in Smyrna. I like the Laoian and Thai dishes for which the middle Tennessee restaurant is known. It is a nice proper place with good presentation. Laos is country of origin for a good number of their items like the Lard Nar saucy meat and veggies over fried rice noocles. Most of the choices are of Thailand origin, for which they do justice. Pad Phed is a spicy mix of veggies such as bamboo shoots, micro corn coblets, bell peppers, celery and more which is presented hot after stir fry. Another good vegetarian item is Pad Pria Warn sweet and sour cucumbers, pineapple and veggies. My favorite splurge here is the hollowed pineapple Kao Ob Sup Pa Rod containing rice and cashews with veggies, chicken and shrimp. Thida Thai is a top local restaurant, and worth a stop off I-24 between Murfreesoro and Nashville.

  • Mitch M.

Was so happy to see Smyrna fianlly get a Thai place. Freindly service and the food is very good. You can also eat healthy if you choose the right items. I have told them if they would add brown rice vs fried or white rice to their menu, I would go there 2 or 3 times a week for lunch. No bits on my recommendation yet, but I still make it over there once a week.
