Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

We were there early on a hot Friday night. The food is OK but not great. Service was slow to pathetic. What we did like was that the people were friendly. They just seemed ill equipped for an early evening rush. We also liked the covered outside patio. The patrons were all enjoying themselves which made for a fun atmosphere. Prices are spot on for this type of fare. We might have to surprise them again and see if they do better.

Disappointed by food and service. My taco salad meat was floating in grease. Honestly, I would have been less disappointed if it was flavored grease. By far, the most horrid of all food experiences. When I want good Mexican, I will stick to my best options, Acapulconf Burrito or Chuy's. I don't like leaving such a negative review. That said, I consider this our lesson learned. We will never try a new joint again without getting a good vibe on reviews.

Cheese dip,..... WITH Chorizo,... So simple, yet so damn delicious. I love this place. I always order the same thing every time i come here because it gives you a little of everything. "Parrilla Mexicana"-- A delicious combination of grilled chorizo, shrimp, chicken, steak, and carnitas. Cooked with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes. Served with rice, beans, lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream and tortillas. So basically, your average fajitas,... On friggin steroids. So very good. Word of advice though- EVERYTHING here is covered in grease, That's what makes it so good probably, but the only reason I can't give it a full 5 stars. Awesome outdoor seating area with plenty of tvs to sit all day, have some margaritas, and watch some sports. I frequent this place very often.

This place should not have only 3 stars collectively. It is my favorite Mexican restaurant EVER. Nashville, in my opinion, has some of the best Mexican around. I've lived in over 5 states in the past 10 years and NOTHING compares to what we have locally even based off my travels. Why do I love this place? Chips, salsa and your basic addictive white cheese sauce are on point. Dos Equis amber on draft for ridiculously good prices ftw (and its on all day Happy hour Sun-Wed). Food is crazy good. I ALWAYS get the fajita meat quesadilla or the cheezy (yes, with a z) chicken. Make sure to add onions, peppers, and tomatoes to both. Sends it right over the edge. Eat here, take my advice. You won't be disappointed.

Best Mexican in Rutherford Co/Smyrna. Fresh in house made chips & salsa. It's always packed because the food is delicious. Service is fantastic! They have outdoor seating that's nice in Spring and Fall. We started eating here as a weekend ritual, and even after moving 15 miles away, we return a couple times a month. I pass about 10 lessor Mexican places on the way!

Great service and great for families. We go here about once per week with our young kids and always receive good service. The mushroom chicken and carnitas are go to items, great flavor. The menu is standard fare, but done well.

The food was good but not great and our server was horrible. First she lied about the guacamole being made fresh and copped attitude when I politely and humorously pointed out it wasn't made fresh and then she was rude the rest of the night. I probably ate spit and still I tipped fairly for how bad she was (about 14%) but when I got my bank statement it showed she added $2 tip to my bill like I wouldn't notice. She was a rude slob and I won't support a business that allows that sort of thing to happen. Management is there to catch "mistakes" like that but not when they are either incompetent or don't care. Which is it?

My boyfriend & I came here for lunch. Our server came right away, took our drink order (margaritas which were OK) and then when she brought our drinks, we told her we needed a minute to order. She then disappeared for 45 minutes where we saw a roach. There were very few customers & nobody else in the restaurant seemed to notice that we were sitting there or the roach. We grabbed the manager on our way out, as our server suddenly showed up and apologized but we were upset and told the manager that we were disappointed and how long we had been sitting there with no attention. They did nothing about the situation & still charged us for our drinks. Will never go back.

Awesome cheesy chicken! Can take some time during lunch but thats any sit down resturant. Will go again amd again.

There cheesy chicken is awesome. The service is great although they seemed short handed on this particular visit. They always make the kids feel comfortable and take their orders just as serious as the adults. I recommend them every time

First of all they added a grat to our bill without telling us and we left a cash tip.party of four I like this place the salsa is banging. The service was poor my fajitas were not cook enough I would have told her that if she would have stopped by again 15 mins later she came by i told just to take it off my bill and take it away.and I talked to the guy at the desk with I was paying and he could care less.Well I guess I will never go back.To may options for Mexican to put up with that. And tried calling to complain phone number doesn't work. I am pretty mad really I think I will go back and give the owner a piece of my mind I am in the biz it shouldn't have gone down like that

This is a great Tex-Mex restaurant! They have a good variety of beer including ice cold Dos Equis Amber on draft. The Margaritas are wonderful. I take mine on the rocks with salt. The staff is friendly, they have complementary chips and salsa. There is a spicier sauce for heat freaks like me. My family has been going there for several years and are rarely dissappointed by a meal. 4 stars because the cuisine and service can decline in quality on very busy days.

We use to come here a couple times a week but not anymore. They're service has gone to hell here! We barely come here anymore because of it. Today's waitress acted like it was a burden just to seat us an after our ice teas an lunch was brought out we never saw her again. We both needed refills on our drinks yet couldn't get anyone to bring us them. Another waiter brought us our bill yet asked nothing. The food has also gone down hill. Use to be pretty good now your lucky if it's hot. I'm done giving these people chances. They've lost our business for good

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Smyrna! The staff is friendly and the food is great! (I'm a fan of the beef fajita burrito.) They have a large deck to enjoy the nice weather. Happy hour is Sun-Wed all day. The margaritas are decent. Overall, I enjoy this place!

Good restaurant, clean, nice staff and the most important thing is the portion is big lol The only reason for giving them 4 stars is because they kind of taking a long time to bring you food

Your typical Mexican joint in Tennessee. Great and friendly staff. Cheap Beer. I've been here a few times since it's close to an office I work @ and this place stays pretty consistent. The food arrives hot and usually arrives quickly. The stein sized beers can be as low as $4. How they do it? I have no clue! You won't find anything spectacular here that will set it apart from other Mexican joints in Tennessee. As with many vacant buildings in TN, this place looks to be like an old Burger King that's been vacant for a time then converted into it's current mode. When the weather is nice, there's a patio for you to sit at though the ambience isn't the greatest and not even remotely cool, sexy, nor romantic. But hey, this is a small city just outside of Nashville & people just come here to eat.

The restaurant looks great from the outside and when looking at the menu we were hopeful for some good Mexican food. The salsa was great, spicy and flavorful. I ordered a margarita which was full of flavor syrup when resulted in the first time in years I didn't finish a margarita. I would expect better from any Mexican restaurant let along one with Margarita in the name. Considering the number of people in the restaurant our wait time to order wasn't extreme. We ordered 2 appetizer dips, the trio dip and the cheese dip, for the 6 in my party. We did not receive these dips until after we had received our food and reminded the waiter they were ordered. Firstly, the dips (even though we received them after the main course): The cheese used in both dips tastes like pure melted Velveeta. Nothing added, only pure Velveeta. The beans in the trio dip were watered down. I have never had such thin beans... ever.. The ground beef had a seasoning similar to the cheapest version of taco seasoning packet at the supermarket. There wasn't much beef in the dip anyway. While we were waiting to receive our meal and dips we did not have a single offer for refill on our chips. Both dips: waste. Main Course: I'm not sure when a shredded chicken enchilada became a 2 ingredient dish, only shredded chicken inside a tortilla, but apparently Margarita House believes this to be true. My friend ordered the chile relleno which came black. There was no char to this chile, it had been burnt to a point where only the deepest black remained. The California Burrito which is supposed to be extra large does indeed have an extra large tortilla but is only filled in the center of the burrito resulting in half of the tortilla being completely empty. The shrimp la diabla tasted as though they just poured cheap cayenne pepper on the shrimp and called it ready. The beans.... I have never tasted beans at a Mexican restaurant that I didn't like, until Margarita House. Our service was almost non-existent. One half of the table was asked once when our food was brought out if we would like refills and once when our plates were taken away. Otherwise, we didn't see our waiter. We weren't once asked how our food was, perhaps they could tell we didn't enjoy it. All-in-all a negative experience. We will never be visiting Margarita House again.

My husband and I have enjoyed this restaurant for many years. It isn't very often in my experience that an established local business improves with age, but this place has seemed to stand the test of time. It helps tremendously that they update the atmosphere and menu every few years. The outdoor seating is delightful on a beautiful day and features booths. Other local restaurants tends to rely on noisy karaoke or trivia nights, but this restaurant relies on quality service and food. It has much of the authentic fare that we have grown to love. My favorite dish is the Chicken Fajita Nachos, though I very rarely can eat the entire plate.

This is a regular spot for me and a few friends. Friendly service and great food!

Standard Mexican joint with a friendly staff. Food and margaritas were solid. I ordered tacos de carne asada and they definitely hit the spot. I've noticed that a lot of Mexican restaurants don't often include rice & beans with this particular entree for some reason, but Margarita House did, which was nice. The patio is the best thing going for Margarita House, in my opinion. Nice, spacious outdoor seating makes sipping a beverage on a breezy evening that much better. All in all, I had a good experience. The food may not blow your mind, but it does the job and the prices are fair. Plenty of reasons to stop by this place if you're in the area.

Its ok, just a typical joint. The prices are higher than some places and the amount of food you receive for the price is smaller than other places. Their drink prices are HIGH. I prefer one of the other Mexican places in Smyrna over this one. We have discontinued going to Margarita house due to quality and price.

Great service California burrito is the FIRE! Still love Cozumels down the street. This place is great to. Salsa was alright this time, pretty soupy. But it's all great

Love this place! The steak fajita burrito is amazing!

Good food. the margaritas are a little too sweet and soury but always make me feel all nice and tingly. I love that they have an outdoor patio, but dont expect a late night, we always end up shutting the place down. Closes too early to be called the margrita house.
