Great food. I had the French onion soup. My hubby had fish & chips. Our friend had the fajitas. Food was fresh and good. I also had the wedge salad. It was very fresh and totally ruined my appetite blog. If you want a great dining experience at a good price this is the place to come. Service was prompt and the Waite staff was very attentive.

Service: We walked in on a Thursday evening with no wait. Out waitress was friendly and prompt! Food Appetizer: We started with the spinach artichoke dip. Very flavorful. Eat it fast because the bread sucks up all of the cheese! The side salsa was very good as well. Entrees: CAN YOU SAY RIBEYE?!? The Hawaiian Ribeye and the regular ribeye were our entrees of choice. They were both delicious! Very well seasoned. The glazed Hawaiian ribeye needed no additional sauce (A1 or 57), which I liked! Sides: The side salad was fairly large. The broccoli was good, the mashed potatoes were well seasoned and the creamed corn was freshly made! This will definitely be our go-to place when we are visiting TN! If you are an out of towner, COME HERE! It's a local favorite! Far better than the icky chain restaurants along the parkway. :) PS- Restrooms: The restrooms were clean! :)

Very nice atmosphere!! Kind of basic, but yummy sounding menu. I believe our waitress was on something.... Much raved after ( by the waitress- she pretty much talked us into it) Appetizer showed up AFTER our meal. :( If you like salad for dinner, plan on an appy or sharing with someone... Smallest entree salad I've ever seen! Average pasta, pretty decent ribs. I ordered the special...Steak sandwich .... BORING!!! Meat was decent but no cheese, no sauce, no peppers/onions/mushrooms - just bread and meat. Asked for water and extra napkins 3 times. Been in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Sieverville area for the last 5 days and have had NOTHING but impeccable service for the ENTIRE vacation! Sad to say this is the poorest service we have received thus far.

Love this place. Best burger I have had in a long time. Juicy but not greasy. Fries are really thin (like steak n shake's) and were delicious. Ate outside on the patio. Great atmosphere and server and manager who came by our table were both extremely nice. We will visit again next time we are in town.

Service was great from the minute we walked in! Friendly hostess & wonderful waitress. The jalapeño cucumber margarita was divine and my Creek Sliders were magnificent; the handmade horseradish sauce was perfection! My husband got the sampler and a big cold Sam Adams, and he raved about his food, too. Very nice atmosphere without feeling odd that we were in shorts. I'd definitely recommend it!

Oh myyyyyy, this is a gem!!!!! Definitely try the deep fried avacados...(avacado fiesta)..I dont care for avacados but these are REALLY GOOD!!!! Had the lunch special chickin' and dumplins...pretty good, not the best I've had but good. The appetizer chicken quesadilla was excellent!!! The service was excellent. MUST try the Orange Soak Cake...omggg... Really, really, good. The music is low and good. The atmosphere is very good, low dim lights. Great date night spot for sure. Me and my friend split the avacados, quesadilla and the noodles and cake and still brought home leftovers. The portion sizes are very good in size... Will be returning soon.

Excellent! I cannot say enough good things about this place! The food is superb, Amanda was our server and she is perfect! Awesome atmosphere and very reasonable pricing! Will return in the near future!!!

Miserable. 2 out of 4 meals wrong & another was sold out. Took an additional three times to confirm the steak was sold out & offered a substitute. Tickets were completely screwed up & it took 2.5hrs to get out of there. Done lunch a few times & was excellent.... Sad

A nice break from the loud, crowded, average food you get in the shadow of Dollywood. A cut above with quality dishes. I had the 'Chicken Parmesan Pene Pasta'. It was different and good quality.

  • Val K.

    - Great food - Short wait time (for a Saturday night) - Friendly, efficient staff I would definitely recommend and plan to return the next time we're in town.

We ate here on our way home from Dollywood and The Island based on a recommendation from a friend and some really good Yelp reviews. I'm a burger lover and wanted to try the Big Holston (2 patties), but I know my eyes are bigger than my stomach. So I just got the regular cheeseburger and doctored it up a little to be like the Big Holston. My waitress actually made a comment about how it seemed like the Big Holston. We decided to call it the Little Holston. The fries are Julienne style and very good. I dipped mine in their tangy 1000 island. The menu was large and the selection of sides was bigger than just about any restaurant I can recall. We sat out on the patio and it was a nice night to enjoy the outdoors and the breeze.

Great food and atmosphere. Our waitress was Desire and she was phenomenal! She took care of all our needs without being asked. All the employees were very friendly and didn't act like they would rather be somewhere else. Prices are very reasonable.

Was better then expected..away from crowd great prices and the Smokey Bear burger was awsome (wife added blue cheese good move ) Waitress was very friendly and was great with requests. ..

  • Randy H.

Great service and amazing food the appetizer (fried pickles) came out quickly. The shrimp Alfredo was rich and creamy. The Hawaiian ribeye was perfectly cooked and the two sides (spinach Maria and baked mac and cheese were excellent!

Great atmosphere, service and value. First off the atmosphere is rustic/trendy and has really cool vibe. The service we were given was top notch. The waitress was pleasant and was able to provide suggestions to a very undeceive group. She suggested the avocado appetizer. I explained I did not like avocado, she replied you won't be sorry. Well she was absolutely right. I normally don't like avocado, it is bland but more than that the texture grosses out. This was prepared with a light bread ding and served with a delicious sauce and was amazing. For lunch I had a burger and was outstanding, perfectly cooked and a large patty, seasoned just right. They have a pretty diverse menu, huge bar, I am pretty sure they have something that will make everyone's taste buds happy.

So delicious! ! The Hawaiian Ribeye was one of the best I had and u have to get the soaked orange cake. You will love it! Our server was super nice and the manager stopped at our table twice. Highly recommend! Only drawback was the fried pickles were a little salty.

Very good experience, tasty food, good service, quaint atmosphere! We'll be back next time we venture to Pigeon Forge.

Pretty mediocre food. Little Italy came out cold. Kid spaghetti was Ragu. Spinach artichoke was weird, just cheese mixed with spinach. Maybe should have ordered fajitas they actually smelled good.

  • Marchele H.

Good food overall. My daughter and I had dinner salads topped with grilled chicken. They were fantastic! The chicken was perfect! Juicey, perfectly prepared and flavorful without overwhelming the salad. Dressing was served on the side which I always appreciate but rarely remember to request. Two people in our party had burgers. My husband is the burger conissuer in our family and he was not impressed. Said it tasted like a prepackaged frozen patty. My second daughter said hers was "very good". Service was good.

  • Carolyn L.

Avocado fiesta was excellent! Must try! (Especially if you think you don't like them) Hawaiian Ribeye was perfection. Orange soak cake...OmG!!! Fantastic! Yummy! Great Atmosphere! Good service! We will defiantly be back!!!

  • Allen H.

This was very disappointing. Service was very slow. Order was incorrect. I ordered fish and chips and the breading was soft not crispy and cole slaw was awful. Fries were all cold and chewy. Philly Cheesesteak was so tuff my son could not bite through the steak. When I expressed my displeasure the manager was not informed. I spent 65 dollars on a meal I did not enjoy.

By far one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere had an excellent vibe, and our waiter (Charlie) was nice, always close when we needed him, and helpful. My family got the fiesta avocados for an appetizer which everyone agreed were the best thing we had ever put in our mouth. I would highly recommend everyone try those. Most of the people at our table ordered different salads, they were all delicious. The grilled tilapia was my favorite though.

  • Andrew N.

Excellent veggie fajitas. Try the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, they're amazing!

I came here while visiting Gatlinburg and trying to avoid chain restaurants so Yelp steered us to Holston's. We got the Avocado Fiesta as an app. Our server Ashley recommended it to us and it sounded interesting and unlike anything we have tried before. The avocado slices were stuffed with chicken and deep fried. It was an easy split and a very hearty appetizer. My husband got a burger and said it was one of the best burgers he ever had. He chose the buffalo chips on the side and while they were good, I expected them to be a little more spicy and have an actual buffalo flavor, but they were more like seasoned fries in potato chip form. My Thai noodle salad was really good and refreshing. It was sweet with a little hint of spice. But by far, the BEST thing there is the orange soak cake. This would not be a dessert that would normally call to me, but Ashley said it was legit and she did not steer us wrong thus far so we trusted her and she did not disappoint! It was SO yummy and delicious. My only regret is us sharing one orange soak cake. Ashley took great care of us and was super friendly the whole time. She gave us great recommendations on food and always kept refreshing our drinks. If we make our way to this part of the country again, which I am sure we will. We will be sure to visit Holton's kitchen again.

Dinner was excellent. Our four kids enjoyed their meals without any complaints and cleaned their plates. Great place that's not a chain. I had the southwest salad and it was way better than average. My daughter had the Hawaiian chicken and raved about how good it was. Definitely worth going back if in area. Price was less than any similar restaurant, we were very satisfied! #yummy

Wonderful food! The baked pimento cheese is fantastic and I also loved the fried green tomatoes and the chicken fajitas. Highly recommended!

  • Evan F.

Best meal my family had on our Smokey Mountain vacation! The Hawaiian Ribeye was wonderful and cooked perfectly. My wife's cedar plank salmon was good as well. The Orange Soak cake and ice cream was A-mazing!!!! I can't describe it because I've never had anything quite like it. My family of 4 split the dessert and I wish I had the whole thing for myself. This will definitely be a spot I stop at when I come back to the mountains.

  • Angela H.

The best chicken & dumplings ever!!! We went on a hot summer day and that didn't stop us from ordering them once we heard they were the chef's mothers recipe. Great homemade chips too! The staff was very friendly.

  • Matt R.

My family stopped into Holton's twice within one week due to a basketball tournament. The parking lot was nearly full each time, and yet we were seating quickly (even with a party of 8 people). Folks in our party enjoyed the Hawaiian Ribeye ($19.99 - really good), Sirloin, Fajitas, Open Faced Roast Beef, and various other staples. Look for two amazing fire-pits next to the Food City shopping center. Secret tip - if you ask for bread they will bring out a pile of Schuberts rolls, but you have to ask!

My kids and I visit Holston's frequently. Just wanted to say that Saturday night we had my daughter's 12th birthday party there. I called early in the day to make the restaurant aware that we would be having a large party (8 adults and 6 children.) the manager informed me they do not take reservations but would do everything possible to accommodate us. I arrived 15-20 minutes early and they already had everything set up! Our server was wonderful, he kept our drinks full and checked on us frequently. I haven't ever had a bad experience here. I would recommend this place to anyone!

  • K M.

Went for their Thanksgiving prix fixe dinner because they were one of the few restaurants in the area taking reservations. Reservation process was smooth and hostess was friendly and helpful. When we arrived, we were seated quickly and had attentive and polite service. The food was outstanding - not super creative but good standbys done right. My only complaints were that the green beans were seriously overdone and my husband opted to pay $4 for both ham and turkey and got less meat than I had only my turkey-only plate. The waiter noticed his disappointment and quickly made it right. Excellent cocktail - Red Room of Pain - a must-try! Desserts were amazing - mini-pies by Gigi's Cupcakes. Best pecan pie either of us have ever had.

Did call ahead seating for a party of 15. Jessica, the hostess that I spoke with on the phone, was very rude. Arrived at the restaurant and she was very unfriendly in person. Thankfully, the other hostess and our server were responsive and kind. Food was good. Service a bit slow but we did have a big party. Sadly, our experience with the first hostess tainted our evening.

The food was great. I got the ribs and my wife got fish and chips. They were the best we had the whole time while we were in Pigeon Forge. The price and service were great.

This place is simply amazing, great service and great food, every time were in town, we go. From the filet to the salmon to salads, it's awesome. We've been 6+ times and never had a complaint thus far! If you're looking for a halfway clean, all you can eat stuff your face for cheap, typical sevier county area tourist buffet this is not for you! If you're looking for clean and pleasant atmosphere, great service, great outdoor heated patio and reasonable prices for great entrées then this IS for you.

A locally owned nice restaurant in the zone of tourist traps is such a joyous find. This restaurant took many of its offerings to exalted Heights. The coconut shrimp popped with a crunch and juicy perfectly cooked shrimp. The pork chop was thick and still juicy with a nice flavor. I was satisfied with the cheesy local dish. Spinach Maria, a creamed Spinach with a better flavor. The only disappointing item our family tried was the Thai noodle salad. I had seen this on other menus around town, so it must be a local favorite, but this cold salad made with wheat noodles instead of the more Thai rice noodle, was overly sweet. All in all, a great restaurant that is worth the short trip away from the strip and its many chains.

From the look of the place, you'd swear it was a chain, just because of the high quality of detail that's going on. Gas lamps, really nice looking menus, the whole place just screams million-dollar corporation, but this is the only one. We flew into town for lunch, and this was one of the closer places to the airport, so we made a quick decision and stopped in. Everything we ordered was pretty fantastic. The lunch special was stacked meatloaf with mashed potatoes, and it was expertly prepared with their barbecue sauce, which also adorned the tasty yet messy barbecue sandwich that my wife ordered. I've been asked to mention that their very thin fries are among the best we've ever had. We really wanted to get that dessert, the Orange Soak Cake that everyone is going on about, but we didn't have the appetite left for it after the yummy lunch.

Hit and miss. Really want to love it here. Ambience is excellent. Food is average though and service, well service is just not there. My partner's cedar plank salmon was excellent (hit) but then no balsamic vinaigrette for salads? (Miss). Your choices are raspberry or pineapple or you can opt for oil and vinegar. I love onion soup and here it was terrible. The bread was not toasted but tasted like a soggy slice and then had some microwave cheese on top. Try Old Mill Pottery Cafe for excellent soup. Blackened chicken salad was just ok. Finally, carrot cake was just so-so at best. Why are you putting cool whip on the plate with carrot shavings?? Disappointing end to meal. Service was really off base. Don't bring me a tab while we are still eating! Felt rushed and not sure why since lots of available tables. I think we will pass on this place for awhile; a lot of other better choices.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Great service, great food and great atmosphere. Large portions on the appetizers and entrees that we ordered...from Burgers to pasta dinners. The sampler appetizer was a hit! The manager, Jeremy and our server, Todd were super friendly and personal! We will definitely be back on our next trip to Tennesse!

Stopped in because of other reviews here on Yelp. We were glad we did. The avocado fiesta was as good as others say yum mo ! We had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes with white gravy. It made me think of my grandmother and her cooking. I was transported. We will be back.

Stopped in here tonight based on the Yelp reviews. Looks like a newer building and has seating out front with gas fire pits. Walked in and got seated right away, checked out the menu and it has a great variety. Anita ordered the chopped steak dinner, the steak was cooked to perfection and had great taste and grill marks. It came on top of real mashed potatoes with gravy which complimented the steak wonderfully. Came with a side of spinach Maria which is creamed spinach with onions, peppers and cheese, yummy. Also ordered a side of fries green tomatoes with a vinaigrette dressing, good stuff. I ordered the combo fajitas, the steak and chicken were grilled to perfection with wonderfully grilled onions and peppers, would definitely recommends this place.

After reading review sorry I didn't try avacado app. Other wise very impressed. Had cedar plank salmon (blackened and was excellent. Cooked just right. Also had spinach Maria. Very good. Wedge salad was only detraction had a couple rotten cherry tomatoes and blue cheese was preety ordinary. She had fall off bones ribs very good. And of course the Orange cake is the bomb very good and courteous service. Def come back

The service...Honestly, I'm a patient man, and I can deal with lags in service. However, when the server doesn't know the answer to a basic menu/ingredient question and then proceeds to make something up in lieu of bowing out and asking someone who knows it reflects poorly on the whole restaurant. The food was good, when it finally made it to our table. The steaks there are very good for the price range, but we barely had time to eat them before we had to head out for the movie. Couldn't believe how affordable it was for two steak dinners and two glasses of wine, that's where the 2 stars come from. HUGE turn off for a server to lie.

Great food, the steaks are the best in town. Our server, Amanda was great! Sweet and perky and knowledgeable about the menu.

A great meal from a local restaurant that was a very nice change from all the chain restaurants in the area! === THE GOOD === - The service was fantastic! Our server was very helpful and our food came out amazingly fast. She also made sure to take our kid's order first so that her food would come out much sooner rather than later. - The food was delicious. My wife and I shared a Grilled Hawaiian Chicken (with Rice Pilaf and Green Beans) and the Pork Chop (with Broccoli and Sweet Potato). Both dishes were good-sized portions and very tasty. In particular, the seasoning combination on the chicken was worth noting. Also, the green beans were a bit spicy, which was different and good! - Apparently, Monday nights (when we visited) are a bit slow, so we had zero wait for a table. While the restaurant was pretty active, we didn't see anybody needing to wait. Given that the chain restaurants on the main strip often have hours-long waits, this was VERY nice. === THE BAD === There really wasn't any bad. If I wanted to be SUPER nit-picky, I could say that the pork and chicken were a TOUCH on the dry side.

Stopped in one day for lunch. This place a great vibe to it and the staff were incredibly welcoming. The food was pretty good as well (I got a sandwich since it was only noon) but we tried to orange soak cake as a group and I think I would go back for it alone!

Please inform your servers just because Im a guest in your town my money is green, the guest is important, an I demand good service. Just another restaurant that is a tourist one timer.

Second visit and we could not wait to go back. Again raining on our arrival, but we were comfortable once inside. I did not feel quite as welcomed as I did the first time, but service was good. Not sure the server gave us her name, but she was young and fairly new--I had to remind her to bring things a few times. We had been at Dollywood all day and were ready for a relaxing meal, which we got. I ordered the same Hawaiian steak I had last time, and it was just as tasty although obviously not as surprisingly delicious as it was the first time. My wife was delighted to learn that it was Mexican Monday, so she got her fill of her favorite items and pronounced them tasty as well. We both had margaritas to celebrate and they were good too. I finished off with an apple pie moonshine on the rocks and it was just right. Our new favorite place in the Smokies!

We were here on vacation last year and loved the Hawaiian ribeye and Orange soak cake !! So I knew we had to come back here again. Sure enough it was as delicious as I remembered! This is definitely a place we will go to every time we are in town. My husband got the regular ribeye while I got the Hawaiian. Both were great! We got the fried avocado appetizers after reading about it on yelp (we don't normally order appetizers) wow!!!!! We loved it!!!! I want to go back again and just order that one thing! Orange soak cake was yummy as usual !

I came here a few weeks ago with my family because we heard that the food was exceptional. My parents came before when they first opened and were not impressed with the food. However, they were happy to give it a second chance with my brother and me. Overall, it was okay. The ambience was elegant and modern, so 5 stars for that. Our waitress was pleasant and nice, however she had trouble elaborating on their most popular dishes as well as describing other dishes we had questions about. She did share her favorite dishes, but a key strength waiters/waitresses should hold is being able to describe and "sell" dishes to allow the diners to enjoy their dining experience. I would give her a 3.5 stars. Now time for the menu. They have a large array of dishes, which can be a strength and a weakness. They seem like a grill type of restaurant, but they did hold miscellaneous of options that made us question their brand/identity. Sometimes too large of a menu can stretch the quality of food. Anyways, my family started with the southern fried green tomatoes. They were well seasoned, lightly battered, and very enjoyable. For our entrees, I ordered the Prime French Dip with mushrooms added. The prime rib was cooked and seasoned well, and the bread was toasted nicely. However, the julienne crisp fries were not freshly made. Although I was given a great amount of fries, I prefer quality of quantity, which is probably one of the reasons why they prefer frozen fries given the restaurant location. My mother ordered the Strawberry Chicken Salad. Presentation was nice and the salad was fresh, however, the chicken ran on the dried side and the raspberry vinaigrette ran tremendously sweet and less of the tangy. Usually salad dressings help bring out the flavors and small components of the salad like from the almonds, bell peppers, and even the raisins and cranberries, but all it did was mask the flavor with sweetness -- even when lightly used. My dad ordered Margarita Grilled Chicken, which I did not get to taste but was told it was very tasty -- though they could have used a different plate to help it seem more "full" rather than having it on a large plate. My brother ordered the deluxe burger medium, though it came out medium-well - which isn't terrible but not great. It was seasoned well and delicious, but the plate was stuff with a lot of fries -- that's just my own personal quirk though. My parents said the food quality improved a little but it did not really impress us. Moreover, the decor and atmosphere does present itself to be more upscale and raises the bar of a restaurant, however, the food quality missed that mark for us. I may be back if I had to come with friends and such, but I'm not rushing back on my own accord.

Highly recommend planning a dinner here on your trip to the Smoky Mountain resorts. It's off the strip, offers great food and friendly service. Our waitress Staci was very nice and attentive to pour drinks, especially our fast paced boys. The best meal of our 7 was the Hawaiian Ribeye, teriyaki marinated with pineapple. Cooked to order served with side was very good. Other meals, fish & chips, grilled chicken sandwich, hamburgers and southwestern chicken salad, were all very good and reasonably priced. Be sure to save room for the best desert we have had in a while, the chef special spice cake and ice cream, served with warm cake it was phenomenal. Kudos to the staff. Avoid the overcrowded chain joints on the main strip and enjoy the seeing and meal at Holstons.

This place is great. Several options for kids including things that are not fried! The salads are interesting and large. We went on St. Patrick's day and they had green sprite for the kids. We even had the mint chocolate chip ice cream dessert it was a winner for everyone. The service was fast and helpful, she even went out of her way to help the kids. We will be back.

This place is great. Probably our favorite meal while in Tennessee. The service was great and plenty of food at a reasonable price. Very reasonable. The pictures will show the portions. Huge garden salad for $4.79. One pound hamburger for $10.00. For real good food, atmosphere and service.

I want to tell you about the horrible experience, extremely long wait, and inept management when I visited Holston's. I would avoid this place and move on to another chain restauraunt with similar food that actually cares about their customers. My wife, myself, daughter, and son stopped by on a slow Monday night for dinner. We are local and love to find places to go back to often. We ordered the little italy, a kid's meal, a Hawaiian ribeye, and a sirloin steak. The steaks were ordered medium. After a forty minute wait our food finally arrived. The steaks were well done..not a bit of pink. The server took the steaks back..after another 20 minute wait we received rare steaks that were completely cool in the middle (seriously 20 minutes for a seared raw steak). We asked for the manager. The gentleman came out and we showed him the steak and he apologized then began making excuses saying the regular grill man was on break because he was working a 12 hour shift and he had to be gone for 3 hours because his wife was sick. He then offered to remake the steaks a third time. I declined because why should I wait another 20 minutes for my wife and son to sit there and then even longer while my daughter and I ate. He also insulted my intelligence telling me the ribeye cost 12 dollars. No restaurant will serve a 12$ steak with sides fro 19.99..that is ridiculous 65% food cost with sides. The manager did manage to remove the steaks from our check but offered us no compensation otherwise. I spent one hour and 15 minutes to watch my wife and son eat and to be insulted. My time is also valuable and I will not return to Holston's and I will make sure everyone else knows if your service is bad..the management cares more about what it cost to screw up your order than actually fixing their mistakes. The manager never owned the problem or came up with a good solution to fix it. Avoid this local place and go to a place that cares about you spending your money there.

We were in Gatlinburg on spring break, and came here for dinner based on Yelp reviews. Once again, Yelp reviewers did not disappoint! All the food and drinks were delicious! Our waitress even allowed my daughters to order a kids size Fish & Chips even though it wasn't a choice on the kids menu. I also had the Fish & Chips and my husband had the Country Fried Chicken, both of which were the best we'd ever had! The only con was the appetizer we ordered. We ordered the fried pickle chips (which were amazing!) right when we sat down and it took them at least 20 minutes to arrive, and our entrées arrived less than 5 minutes later, this is always annoying, in my opinion. Our first round of drinks also took at least 10 minutes to arrive. We were there at 7 PM on a Wednesday night, so I felt like there was no excuse for the drink and appetizer delay. Even with the cons, I still have to give this place 5 stars! Eat here, you will not be disappointed!

Oh my goodness! Hats off to chef Aaron and his team. We were looking for something other than tourist food after our visit to the Titanic. This was the hit. A great diverse menu of favorites and twists. I had a wonderful chicken fried steak. My wife had the fried avocado appetizer as her entree. The spinach Maria was divine. The buffalo chip are a great twist on the lowly potato. Looks like a big city place, but it's off the beaten path. Take the detour and try it.

We've been here 3 different times and have yet to sit inside because the patio is so nice! We've had the same waitress for the last 2 visits and both times she has been wonderful! She had an amazing sense of humor and was very courteous, attentive and informative. I highly recommend this place for any occasion. The 2nd visit was with a group of 10 for a birthday dinner. We had 9 entrees and one kids entrees, 3 appetizers and 3 desserts. The chocolate cake and cheesecake are HUGE!! And the price was still very reasonable, considering what we ordered. This is definitely one place that is worth the trip to Sevierville.

Excellent food! Stopped here on a whim after being stuck in traffic going to gatlinburg and will never regret that decision! Reasonable prices, great atmosphere and service! Think this place was better than everywhere else we ate in gatlinberg. Will b back, even if no traffic!

Wow. My fiancé and I have eaten here twice, and we cannot stop talking about how good the food is! The onion rings are amazing, and every meal has been fresh and delicious. Their prices are very reasonable, comparable to a Cheddars or O' Charley's - except the food is way better. I can't recommend this place enough

Generally excellent food and a great ambiance as well. The Cedar Plank Salmon is a hit as is the Hawaiian Ribeye. Make sure to leave room for dessert - They are excellent!! I recommend the Mississippi Mud Pie or the Strawberry Shortcake. Your really can't go wrong with either one.

This place is deceiving. We pulled in and thought it was packed and we were under dressed. Not at all. Great place. Fried green tomatoes were great. I had friend chopped steak that was better than my own mothers! Creamed spinach was delicious too. Worth checking out if you are ever in Servierville TN.

Recently tried to order takeout for dinner at Holston's Kitchen. What a waste of time! My husband and I are not locals, but have eaten there a couple of times before and enjoyed our food. This time was a bad, I repeat BAD experience. I finally got up and left after sitting and sitting and waiting for service. The worst part was the bartender who was to take the order wandered around doing nothing!!!! Maybe she thought I Couldn't afford to buy two dinners. Who knows!!!. Nevertheless we will never return to bother anyone there. I would have given a rating of minus 10 if it was available! Oh, buy the way I stopped at the Chop House after my dreadful experience, purchased two large fillet dinners . They were superior.....very tender and we Enjoyed every bite. At least at the Chop House I wasn't treated like I didn't exist! My husband and I returned the next night to The Chop House ..... Another outstanding dinner. For a truly delightful dining experience skip this place and try The Chop House. You won't regret it!!!

Service was terrible but food was decent. They try to look all fancy but service is like 2 stars. Only a 3 due to decent food. Waited 35 mins for main meal..while waiting Manager came over and said "how was everything?"... Had to tell her app was good but waiting over 30 mins. Our server was one that obviously did NOT enjoy serving people. Also do not order the no-guilt margarita..tastes terrible. Says made with stevia, but has horrible artificial sweetener taste, YUCKO!

Great place, incredible food and great people. What else is there in the restaurant business? If you're in town, you need to go. Plain and simple. We'll be back. Hopefully soon.

Great ribs. Tender and and a great smoked flavor. My son loved the fried mac and cheese. The Hawaiian Ribeye was very good. I asked for medium but cooked a little closer to well done but it was still good. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area. The service was great. I asked for a list of beers such as IPAs and they had 3 on the menu. I would recommend stocking a stout beer to go along with the steak dinner.

This is a great restaurant. My family was looking for a nice place to eat while visiting the mountains but we didn't want to go to one of the over priced tourist feeding troughs. Holston's Kitchen seemed like a mid-priced steak house but we had never heard of it. Turns out it was a very versatile restaurant, offering steaks, burgers, chicken and fish dishes, comfort food and a whole lot more. The quality was superb; the quantity was outrageous and the service was amazing. I'm just sad I can't visit this place every week.

Loved the atmosphere. Music was present so you didn't have to hear everything the tables near you said, but not so loud to where you had to raise your voice. Charlie took phenomenal care of us and made terrific recommendations. The food was fresh and different, in a good way.

Saw this place while driving to Gatlinburg, and stopped in for dinner. The atmosphere was great, casual but very nice. The food was phenomenal! I had the open face roast beef sandwich, and the beef was juicy and tender. My wife had a burger that was very nicely prepared also. The server was friendly and the service was prompt. Overall, we were very impressed!!

Came to Sevierville with no plans other than lodging and started looking for a good place to eat using Yelp. Found Houston's Kitchen and had a great experience. Three of our four family members are gluten-free and it was great to have a gluten free menu even though we are accustomed to finding menu items on our own. Food was good, drinks were good and our server Bridget was great.

All I've got to say about this place is, yummy. Service was really good. Food was prepared correctly and full of flavor. If we are in this neck of the woods again we will probably eat here again.

Excellent food and reasonable prices. A place the "locals" would go. Don't expect a franchise menu as everything is chef prepared. Desserts are tremendous so save room. Ps location on map is wrong.

Great Restaurant. Great Service attentive staff. The Hawaiian Steak is a great value seasoned and was cooked to perfection. I recommend the Baked Sweet Potato with Butter and Brown sugar, it goes great with the steak. The piece d'resistance was the orange soaked cake it was heaven on a plate. I ordered it because of previous recommendations. It is worth dining at this local place. Kudos to staff and management.

Ok you Yelper Users, This is a great eatery to bookmark! Holston's Kitchen is one of the best eats for the price! For example, three can eat at HK for under $60 easily and we have even come out of HK with three meals, an appetizer, and 20% tip for $59.00! Now, tell me where else can you do this ? The Tennessee Dreamin' sandwich is a killer! If you like Prime Roast with Cheddar, then this is the one for you. Also, they make their own potato chips-EXCELLENT! The Spare Ribs are SUPER, and better than Tony Romas' Ribs and that is saying a lot. The onion rings are a MUST and be sure to ask for the Chipotle dip. I have yet to have a bad experience at HK! They do serve Beer and Mixed Drinks, but the bar area is tastefully separated by a half-wall partition. There is also booth and table seating in the bar area and if the main seating area is full and you are looking at a long wait, then be sure to ask about bar seating. Finally, the owners of HK designed the interior of the restaurant with music to have a New Orleans flare, but added local hometown historical pictures from Sevier County, Tennessee. Really folks, this is a great place to go and is a most definite family friendly eatery. Now, if you are a local and want to experience HK then go on a THURSDAY. At 8 pm you typically have no waiting. However, beginning on Friday and through the weekend, HK is SLAMMED! Therefore, if you must go on the weekend, then get there early 4-5pm. I hope you enjoy HK's as much as I do, and no I am not the owner, nor related to them, nor do I work there. Don't forget to write your review and experience at HK's!! Brad

My boyfriend had the Hawaiian ribeye with baked beans and loaded potato. I had the 10oz sirloin (ask for the steak butter not that the steak needed it but omg) with spinach and broccoli we are leaving very pleased!!! Also, I had the three bean soup great starter!!!

Great restaurant!! Visiting from IL, we stayed at the Wilderness resort and went there with a party of 8 for New Years Eve dinner... great ambiance with 2 fire pits out front and very nice and cozy inside! The service was excellent and we all had very good dinners. The Hawaiian Steak, Pork Chops, Pulled pork Sandwich and Hawaiian Chicken were all ordered as well as 2 kids meals, everyone was pleased when we left. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Awesome spot! Stopped by and Jenny (bartender) recommended the sliders. They were amazing! Not like average sliders- picture the most tender steak sliced with blue cheese and onions on toasted bun... Dipped in aux juice! Four for $9. Service was excellent too! Don't forget the Orange Soak cake!

I had the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The country fried steak was delicious! My wife really enjoyed it too! My wife had the lemon pepper chicken with broccoli and mashed potatoes. It was good but not really anything special. We shared the deep fried avocados for our appetizer and that was good.

I'm a local and it was not good at all. I ordered a filet and it was as bland as any steak ever. Ended up covering the steak with A1!! Onion rings were soft and not warm. Not for me and I won't be back.

My husband and I went there on our 14th anniversary. We weren't looking for fancy just nice where we could get some drinks and have a good meal. Our waitress, Amber, and my husbands steak, was the only things good about this place! We started off with drinks and an appetizer. The bar lost my drink and then took their time making me another. My husband's drink (greyhound) was week. When mine arrived I experienced the same thing. Our appetizer took its time arriving as well. Once it did arrive the young man practically threw it on the table. Seriously, the plate slid 2 inches across toward my husband. He threw up his hands to stop it from landing in his lap. The deliverer then proceeded to bash the chef saying he left and the sous-chef had "No idea how to do anything". When our little waitress came to check on us, we informed her of the guys issues and told her it wouldn't affect her tip but that she better watch him delivering to her tables! Our food arrived a little later. My husbands was steak with loaded mash potatoes and onion rings. Mine was fajitas. His came out with a loaded baked potato AND mashed potatoes. We explained, to the same plate slinging gentleman, that his onion rings were missing. He returned with some on a "crisp bed of lettuce" (we snickered at this). My fajitas were tasteless. So I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would recommend that someone go and find Amber and offer her a decent job somewhere she can shine!

Wow what an awesome meal!! While you are there you have to save room for the orange soak cake for dessert. We were so full by the time we left but it was so worth it!!

Finally found a great restaurant in this vast wasteland of chains. We are going back tomorrow. Nice ambiance, great menu, great service, $5 glasses of wine, beer, all is good. We had ribs, salmon, and fajitas. Everyone liked their food and we shared the strawberry shortcake for desert. Very good! We were a party of 6 and got right in around 6:15 on a Saturday. Nice fire pits outside if you have to wait.

The wife and I were in town for a couple days at Dollywood with the kids, and getting HUNGRY. A quick run thru the recommendations at Yelp showed high ratings at Holsten's, and it was on the way back from the Hotel. However, after a day at the park, we knew that the other guests/staff would not appreciate our showing up with that summertime funk, so delayed satisfaction. After showers, we ran back in and had a FABULOUS meal! After the Onion Rings and Potato Chips Appetizer (did I say we were hungry?), Birthday Boy had the special fish of the day, Tilapia stuffed with shrimp, Baby Girl had her Kids Menu cheeseburger, Mom had the Prime French Dip, with shaved prime roast beef seasoned, and topped with grilled onions, mushrooms, and monterey jack cheese, on a french roll with au jus. She took the potato salad as her side (it was okay). Yours Truly had the Thai noodle salad, linguini-type noodles tossed in a Thai sauce, cilantro, peanuts, mango and sesame seed. The menu said it would have spinach, but I think I missed that bit. You do end up with a lot of peanuts at the end, as they are hard to wrap into your noodles.... All of us raved about our meals, though as we shared about, Baby Girl complained that the noodles were too spicy for her taste..... which is to say it was pretty good. Mom couldn't finish her sandwich and brought it home, whereupon Birthday Boy and I whipped out the knife and relieved her of it. Birthday boy didn't think i would notice that his split had all the cheese on it. We took the recommendation of a previous Yelper and came in after the dinner surge on a Thursday (~7:20pm) and were seated directly. Ambiance was great, and there were couples, families, and groups all seated. The waiter was not super speedy, and was not familiar with the bar (did I say I was traveling with kids to Dollywood?), but it was overall a great experience. Mom says we are coming back here next time in town, and there is NO disagreement on that.

Food was first rate. Best steak in a year. Try the artichoke cheese Appetizer. The serving staff could use some training. Several times we had to ask for drink refills. They never brought our salads until after our dinner had been served. Food was first rate and a great value. Best of all, it wasn't a tourist trap!
