Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Had the pizza margarita and it was pretty gross. Thin crust was soggy and just did not have a good flavor. We had it for carry out. Bread knot things didn't seem to be cooked enough either. Very disappointing.

I'm not usually one for pizza, as typically the grease makes me sick and I just find it's often not very "unique" or special. But when we couldn't figure out what to get for dinner one night on our honeymoon my husband and I decided to give this place a shot to pickup and take back to our cabin. We decided to go in and order since the menu in our cabin was incomplete. There were tons of choices, and reasonable (maybe a little high?) pricing. We finally decided on two different pizzas as we figured leftovers wouldn't be bad. One was made with an alfredo sauce, chicken, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes and red peppers. The other was traditional marinara sauce meat lovers. In addition we tried an order of the dough daddies. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and made our experience waiting more pleasant which was definitely appreciated. We took our food back to the cabin and oh my gosh was it good!!! Both pizzas were good, but the alfredo sauce one was by far the better of the two. Great mix of toppings, great sauce, excellent combo. The dough daddies were also really good, and the dipping sauce (which is a mix of the marinara and alfredo) was superb! We had leftovers for lunch the next day and enjoyed it just as much heated up. I would highly recommend this place, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and truly unique and good food.

Pizza made to order. They were great about making a pizza with no cheese for my dairy allergic son. Kids got to form dough into butterfly and volcano, which got baked with sugar and cinnamon to have as dessert.

The pizza is good, not great. Good service, decent atmosphere.

Awesome pizza got a BBQ 4 U and a create your own with big daddy's sauce and pep and ham. Both were really good. Prices aren't bad this ain't Pizza Hut or papa johns!

I was fairly disppointed. The pizzas were thin and small for their price. THey tasted fine, good actually. Luckily we got some sort of lunch deal on them because they were very expensive to get exactly what you want. Our server was a man whose name I can't remember who was very strange and seemed irritated that our kids ordered water instead of soda and that we did not want an appetizer. It suddenly seemed like he did not care once he realized we were going to have a low check average. There were 5 of us and we got two pizzas and we were still hungry and had nothing to take back to our campsite. That was not a bonus either. I will not be returning next time I am in town.

What a pleasant surprise! Awesome tasting pizza in a family setting. This was the best tasting pizza I have had in a really long time. The brick oven style is a must try. Plus the service was great. We showed up with 14 kids and 6 adults as part of a family reunion and were well taken care of by the staff and food came timely. A huge plus was the plain pizza dough they brought the kids to shape (kept them busy) then they baked it and returned it with butter, cinnamon and sugar. Nice touch!

We were a group of six people and had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. The waitress took too long (about 10 more minutes) to greet us and take our drink orders. However, once the food orders were taken, the appetizers and pizzas showed up extremely fast. Here is a rundown of what we had to eat: Wings - tasty, unusually small in size, but portion was good, about 12 wings. Salads - house and Caesar good, crispy. Pizzas: White pizza - wow, very very good. Recommend! Caprese - OK, but we have a place in Tampa that is awesome. I might be jaded on this one. Big Daddy Rockefeller - good, unusual pizza. Must like oysters! JP - Very good, tasty and not run of the mill taste, Gorgonzola cheese gives it some punch. The Popeye - Very good, must like spinach! My son devoured his in minutes! Overall, would recommend, but large groups may have a problem getting seated. Aside from the time it took for the waitress to get to us to start the ordering process, she was very friendly and overall the employees there were very good to us.

Pizza was ok. Worth a try but, you can find better elsewhere.
(3)Kelly B.
Expected counter service and was surprised to see table service. Service very good. Pizza crust good, but sauce is too bland. Pepperoni could be crispy if placed on top of cheese. They need a new name for their Churros. It's actually pizza dough with cinnamon sugar. Not a real Churro.
(2)Robert B.
Hands down the most greasy pizza I have ever had. Took more than 30 minutes to get our food (lunch). The pizza was so greasy that the cheese would literally slide off the bread making it very hard to eat. We also got the dough daddys appetizer. It to was wayyy to greasy. My wife left here sick to her stomach.
(1)Brodey P.
It's a shame the service was so bad. If you actually do end up eating here, ask for TaBby (that's how she spells it). The pizza was good. They took my drink order 3 times. It took 40 minutes to get our food. Good to kill time, not to eat.
(2)Jamaal M.
Very good pizza and the toasted wings are fantastic!!! Although they could be bigger in size. Definitely recommend!!!
(5)Vijay p.
We ordered Dough Daddy with jalapeño butter which never came. Asked couple of times but the server kept forgetting. Pizza (Mama Mia) was ok, nothing great. Service was terrible. Pizza came out cold, and the server was absolutely non attentive. Being from service industry this was worst experience. Not again.

boyfriend and I split a 10inch. half herbivore and half carnivore. the veggies taste fresh and overall the pizza was really good! So far they've had the best sweet tea we've encountered on our trip to gatlinburg/pigeon forge. Our server was TaBbY and she was great!
(4)Kristy P.
We got the BBQ 4 U pizza for lunch and it was fantastic. The only thing I would recommend is to put some more sauce on the pizza, other than that this restaurant totally exceeded my expectations!

We went here around 8:30 on a Thursday. It seemed really busy when we arrived and were quoted about 20 minutes to wait and sat and waited. They had someone entertaining making balloon animals and it was a nice atmosphere. As people got up the tables were cleaned and we noticed most went un-filled and it seemed like they were only seating about 3/4 of the restaurant for some reason. Our server arrived right when we were seated and took our order. We ordered the dough daddies and the meatball pizza. We waited like 15 minutes for the appetizer and it didn't seem too busy for some fried dough appetizer. We paid attention to their kitchen window where they bring the food up for the server to pick up and watched as ours sat for at least 5 minutes before our waitress got it and brought it over. It was worth the wait though they were delicious and had some parmesan cheese and pizza sauce, it was an amazing appetizer. I heard another server recommend spinach dip to several tables and they all seemed to love it when it came. Our pizza arrived and it was fresh, hot, and it had great flavor. The cheese was delicious, and the meatballs were a great topping. Definitely loved the pizza and the crust tasted good too and I usually don't like crust. Definitely would recommend the place, just think our server wasn't the best but the food was.

We chose this place because traffic was unbearable, we were hungry, and the cool smokestack sign felt like a precursor to something amazing inside. Lots of friendly smiles and a welcoming atmosphere greeted us, along with heavenly smells from the kitchen. My hubs ordered a pizza with his own list of ingredients and although it was okay, he wasn't thrilled. Then again, some of our best friends back home own a pizza place. My order was the Prime Time pizza, which was nothing short of amazing! The beer is cold but a little pricey, and the food and service were really good. Just make sure you ask for your salad to come before the meal. The damage for two 10-inch pizzas and a pitcher was about $55, including the tip. Overall very pleased!

In town from WV for a football tournament and we really wanted some good pizza. After reading the reviews we decided to try it out and thank goodness we did....amazing pizza!! The table shared the antipasto salad which was unbelievable with fresh deli meat & cheese then we ordered 2 pizzas. Not only was the food great but our server was the best we had during our whole 5 day stay while dining out a few times each day! Drinks stayed refilled and she was extremely attentive while having a pleasant attitude. I'm counting down to next year when we're here so we can come back for the great experience!
(5)Bo W.
A little on the pricey side, but the pizza and everything is delicious. this will be my go to pizza restaurant every time I'm in this town!
(5)Jared C.
We ordered a Momma Mia pie and a salad. The pie was excellent. Good toppings and a perfectly done crust. Its worth stopping for if your in town.
(4)B C.
Big Daddy's is stellar. Ordered 10 in cheese and 10 in Mama Mia Speciality - plenty for 2 adults & 3 kids - don't forget the cajun dippin sauce and you'll come back soon !!
(4)Megan C.
Awesome Caesar Salad and Pepperoni Pizza with fresh mozzarella! The manager needs to lose the annoying keys on her pants though, annoying hearing her walk through the restaurant.
(4)Coral E.
Really great pizza! We did the create your own and they have a great selection of toppings to choose from. Definitely suggest doing this and getting the Big Daddy Sauce as the base sauce. Fun atmosphere with an arcade and great for family dinners or big groups.
(5)Tracy M.
Good service, great food !! Yummy
(5)Mohan R.
One of the best pizza I had! Pizza was loaded with ample amount of toppings, crust was light and tasty, and service was top notch.
(5)Jackson M.
We were discriminated against...Me and my girlfriend went in and sat down ordered drinks and a Appetizer well the environment was pretty cool but when our waiter took our order she kept coming back saying the food is coming out...Then i feel someone looking at me i looked up and it was the manager she knew exactly what she was doing..so i didnt think on it at the time i just kept on talking then realized it had been almost 45 mins and no food still and i had noticed people with more parties coming in eating and leaving and when we get fedup and left they came saying that the waiter was new and that was a lie, she made sure everyone else had there food but us....so they gave us gift cards like that mattered because i left them there i didnt need there free food SO NO OFFENSE AGAINST WHITE PEOPLE MY BEST FRIEND IS WHITE BUT BLACKS BEWARE OF THIS PLACE....THE LADY MANAGER IS PREJUDICE....
(1)Chrissie N.
Pizza and breadsticks were extremely greasy. We expected a lot better. Canollis were the best we'd ever had though!
(2)Brian W.
If you are not looking for "Fast Food" pizza, then this is the place! It's a little different than you're average pizza, but very good. The metaball pizza was great!
(4)Jason R.
This was poor! Salad was taken off my tab because a dead bug was served on the side of the plate. Beer (miller lite) was stinky possibly dirty tap. Buffalo chicken pie was less than average. Server was nice and attentive giving this place their only positive remark.
(1)Lisa H.
Great food and service but can accept that the food is "slow" because they have to cook it. A little noisy but that's okay with a small restaurant and the food was nice & hot.
(5)Vaidya N.
Really bland pizza and by bland, I mean BLAND! The saving grace is the brick oven pizza base which was quite good. The pizza hut close-by would kick the guys butt all over the place. Whatever u do, don't order the Caprese pizza ( maybe I spelt it wrong, but after a meal here, I wud rather forget that I ever ate here).
(2)M B.
You know you are in the Southeast when you are hard pressed to find decent vegetarian specialty pizza options (vs. the far more expensive a la carte toppings option). That said, Big Daddy's was very flexible about modifying one of their "mostly" veg pizza options for me, so that was nice. And the pizza was very good - nice crust, garlicky, good amount of toppings, and they really did "light" cheese like I asked. Very pleased. Cheap too - I was able to share a 10 inch pizza with my 6-year old for a total of about $13. One extra bonus of note - after we ordered, the waitress brought my son a bit of dough and a baking pan, and he got to shape the dough just like he wanted, and then the kitchen baked it for him with a sprinkling of sugar and cinnamon. Really nice child-friendly touch. If you are visiting the Smoky Mountains area and need a good place for pizza for a reasonable price, Big Daddy's is a decent choice.
(4)Dan M.
Overall good service, restaurant was clean with a nice big arcade to help keep the kids occupied. The games were a little pricy but what you would expect in a tourist area. Food was ok, not the best pizza I have had but certainly not the worst. It was good enough to earn two visits during our stay. Chicken wings appetizer was good although the pieces were small. Overall decent value.
(3)Joe C.
The best food we ate the entire time we were in Gatlinburg was at Big Daddy's. Delicious, no-frills pizza. For lovers of finely crumbled sausage, not giant hunks, this is the place for you. We got the dough daddies (delicious olive oil and garlic coated rolls) and a sausage and pepperoni pizza. Both were delicious and highly recommended. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. We were there around 4pm on a Thursday, though. The place was practically empty.
(5)Cori S.
we are from Chicago & we know our pizza so we were all surprised at how GOOD our pizza was!! TONS of flavor!! We'd go back!
(5)Crystal W.
It was ok. The cannoli was excellent. This place is over priced and the pizza is just ok. Really bad crust.
(3)Ruby C.
Good pizza. I like the way they put a lot of meat on the pizza, much more than pizzas from famous brands.
(5)Chris L.
I had the pepperoni pizza. The flavor was very good but I was a little disappointed in the amount of pepperoni on it. I would probably get the meat lovers in the future. There are a couple of sandwiches I also want to try. The service was very friendly and it moved fairly quickly.
(4)Robert S.
The place was over priced, the food was ok I guess and the waiter was loopy!!! The wings were baked vs deep fried and no sauce. The pizza was thin crust and lacking taste. The dining hall and restrooms were clean.
(1)Sylvia R.
This place was just ok, but I'm from Chicago, so I'm bias. The pizza was good, but we didn't know the Italian sausage was crumbled and the crust was so thin it was non existent in the middle. One salad, a pitcher of miller lite, and a 14" pizza, $50. TOO expensive for just decent food.
(2)Ted D.
o stars this Pizza was sub par and flavorless. Save your vacation money . 25.oo for three of us to eat a large so called pizza two teas and a water. The Sausage taste like factory foam rubber and pepperoni was greasy and lacking in quantity.Crust was tough and had no flavor . Where is the PRIDE ,STANDARDS ,VALUE ...NONE AT BIG DADDYS ..plenty of help and lack of leadership. We shall see what the name of the this pizza shop will be next year .....GONE DADDYS
(1)yankee p.
The prices are ridiculous. It's only worth it to go now, in January, when it's buy one get one free on everything. $3 and $4 toppings on a 14"? Are you serious? We ordered 2 14" pizzas and the waitress brought us 2 10" ones. Had no clue she screwed up. The pizzas were good - very tasty - but we're not going back because of the prices. They have a number of specialty pies, but they all have a lot of toppings on them. If you don't want some of those toppings, you're still going to pay the same price, or probably pay more if you create your own pie. They have bruschetta desserts but no bruschetta appetizer - how stupid!!!
(3)Julia B.
Excellent pizza, very reasonable prices.
(5)Dustin W.
I went here recently and bought pizza for a group of 13 people which some are very picky. Myself not so much but I am critical on pizza because most just don't do it right. When my girlfriend and I were told our pizza's would only take 25 minutes we had a good laugh but then again they're only 14". Upon opening the boxes the slices were just small no problem I thought. I tried every slice from which we ordered and they were all mediocre. No offense bigdaddyspizzeria but your pizza is just not that good.
(2)Ben S.
Some of the best pizza I have eaten in a long time. Good service, good price.
(4)Dude D.
Got several pizzas to go; all were well-received. Black olives & 'shrooms, pepperoni, pineapple and cheese were all tasty. Not thick crusted. This isn't a big chain pizzeria but it should be at least average & ours were a welcomed step above.
(4)Emily M.
'Tasted' like a healthier pizza than most, not sure if it was or not. Had thin crunchy crust, not greasy at all. Lots of options for toppings. I would go to again, although with Mellow Mushroom not too far away, my husband would rather go there.
(3)M S.
Pizza was surprisingly good. It only comes in two sizes. 10 and 14 inch. The 10 inch is barely enough for two overly thin kids that don't eat much. I have two such kids age 12 and 10 and I thought a fight was going to break out over the slices (we just got the size our waiter suggested). My husband and I split a 14 inch. We are also thin people. While 4 slices of pepperoni were enough for me, my husband was left hungry. I thought the prices were a bit steep but the pizza was delicious and the service was good. They should offer a 16 inch.
(4)Chad C.
I had a large garden salad about $11, added the "wood fired" chicken for another $4. The chicken was not wood fired but if you like that rubber chicken from Subway then go for it. Got the kids a pepperoni pizza, large was $14 looked like it was a small. I'm sure the overhead is high in Pigeon Forge so cut some corners and take as much money as possible from each person. Maybe we're just having a bad day, but I'd rather go next door to Wendy's or IHOP and have a good idea what we're getting into.
(3)Bill P.
Great pizza! We had to carnivore and it was fantastic. They make it fresh and fast. Nice thin crust and the sauce is very flavorful. My young and picky son got the meatballs and he devoured them. I've never had any better pizza anywhere.
(5)Michele T.
This was our last night in Pigeon Forge and wanted to have a good pizza...well, we ended up not only having a good pizza but a GREAT pizza! The best we have ever had!!! We chose the Great White Pizza and enjoyed it so much, we ordered one to go. We also enjoyed their selection of local brewery beers. The service was awesome and friendly and the restaurant is very clean. We will definitely come back to this place when we return to Pigeon Forge again!
(5)A Barby B.
The food was good. A bit pricey for the pizzas. Wings were delicious . The bread was hot and yummy. The waiter was ok but nothing amazing . He forgot to bring napkins we asked him 3 times. We were 10 eating there so I know it's challenging but there was no teamwork
(3)Melissa M.
We ordered a bbq chicken pizza and a cannoli for dessert. I wasn't really impressed with either. The pizza was good but I've had better. The cannoli was very hard and I didn't care for it at all. If you're in Pigeon Forge and you're craving pizza I'd say give it a try.
(3)Ashleigh H.
We tried this place last night and it wasn't bad! The pizza we had was pretty good! However, I got a sandwich and it was just ok. It sounded a lot better than it tasted! Other than that, everything else was good including the meatballs & salads that we got in addition to the pizza and sandwiches!
(4)Leslie M.
Probably the best "herbivore " pizza I've had! Didn't give 5 stars as the atmosphere was underwhelming and staff was "okay"
(4)Will C.
We got here around 12 on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy. The waitress was very helpful with our food selection. We ordered a half pepperoni half bacon pizza and dough daddies and finished it off with a cannoli. The food: they first served us our dough daddies which were really good. For those that get bread sticks with their pizza, this is big daddies alternative though not it stick shape. Next they brought out our pizza. It was average at best. I felt the toppings were scarce. However I did like the fact they didn't put to much pizza sauce on it, which seems to be the crux of to many pizzerias. In the end I preferred the back pizza over the pepperoni. Last thing to come was the cannoli which was excellent. The service: the service was really good. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with her recommendations. She was also quick in refilling my drink, which is what I base my tipping off of. The atmosphere: it was a typical pizzeria. There was a mural of a villa in Italy and tons of pictures of different ingredients that are common to Italian food. Fairly clean room. The was quite a bit of crumbs all over the floor though. Conclusion: I would give this a 3 1/2 stars if I could but I believe in rounding up. If going for the pizza alone, id recommend some other type of food to redeem your meal.
