Came down to Roan State Park for my birthday. Was raining so decided to go and have breakfast at a local place. Came across this cute little cafe. The staff was certainly lovely and their menu selection was small but very tasty. They had Philly Cheesesteak on the menu. Decided to try. It was very well presented like in Philly (where we are from) and it was delicious. The only downfall is they didn't use steak, it looked like hamburger meat. Aside from that everything else was amazing. Would def come back. Thank you for the great service!

Locally owned & operated good spot for breakfast & lunch. Simple good food at reasonable prices.Had the mountain man -- 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon + 1 sausage patty.Enjoyed it. Fresh & perfectly prepared for just under $5. Can't beat it.

Amazing sandwiches! When we walked in, we didn't expect much but the service was fast and both sandwiches (BLt and the special) were huge and really tasty. In fact, they were so good, we went back the next day to have lunch again. Don't miss this place if you're in the area.

Visited for a late lunch on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Good food and good prices but our waitress had an attitude and in my opinion should not be in the foodservice industry. Maybe she was having a bad day. Later a woman we suspect was the owner came out and spoke with us. She was friendly and apologized for the delay with our food, which helped our opinion of the place.

Fantastic deli sandwiches! Extremely friendly staff. I hear the Sunday special is great, and I can't wait to get back to try it. Besides, any place that has ever had Charlie and the Chocolate Factory playing on the tv is worth a visit.

Don't judge a book by its cover: This place will really surprise you! The fresh salads are what I find most impressive, but everything else we have sampled was easily as yummy. Great attention is given to every aspect of every order to ensure every detail is correct. Everyone made us feel welcome and appreciated. It's always nice to have a new alternative in such a small town. They definitely know their customers well... check out breakfast if you have any doubt.

Their menu is extremely limited. I had similar service issues here as I did at dairy land. No one greeted me upon entering cafe. After seeing the limited choices I left. No one even realized I had came in. The place was very clean.

We ate at Happy's Cafe on a weekend trip to nearby Roan Mountain State Park. The service was very friendly and prompt. The potato salad side was good, but I wouldn't order the hamburger again. It didn't seem like it was freshly made. Didn't try the sandwiches or salads.
