This place was so awesome, I do not know where to start. First off, they are a 24/5 restaurant, so although they are closed on weekends, it is a perfect option for someone who travels during the week and is looking for a quality meal without having to worry if you are going to piss off the cooks in the back for ordering right before close. A lot of the food is organically grown in a garden out back. The sandwich I ordered was excellent, and they have multiple vegetarian options. This restaurant is worth taking a detour to visit. I have been traveling for work for the past month, and this is the first 5 star review I am giving. Definitely worth a detour to stop and experience this place! I would write more, but you have to go and experience it for yourself.

I am from Orange County, CA and visiting Pulaski for Christmas and this place is the gem of the city. I had the waffle the first time I came and it was thick, buttery and had some amazing syrup. I am here again and had the Rueben. The sour kraut on the corned beef was amazing. I will definitely come again.

(This review is also posted on the Common Ground Restaurant, as the Yellow Deli is the birth child of the Common Ground, which died in childbirth). Common Ground is now reopened as The Yellow Deli after an extensive remodeling. It is still run by The Twelve Tribes, a community of Christians dedicated to living simple and natural lifestyle. OK so they are a commune, gimme a break. The interior of the old house is just beautiful, rustic wood and wrought iron. The service outstanding. Despite the name, the restaurant is much more than a Deli, with an eclectic menu of organic and locally grown foods. There are also a number of wonderful cakes and dessert breads available. Breakfast sandwiches with eggs and tasty combinations of cheeses and fresh vegetables are delicious. The background music is bluegrass, Mountain Music, and American 18th century traditional. You will definitely hear dulcimers. Vegetarian fare is also available, but I am saving that for my next visit. Unbelievably rural, clean, healthy, and delicious, all at the same time!

One of the best places I have had lunch. Super friendly staff and very helpful. The best root beer on draft and home made chips. My sandwich was outstanding and really cool setting. I can say they are kid friendly. I will be back.

We noticed this interesting looking place when we first arrived in town. The place has a laid-back vibe and has fantastic owner created decor. After talking with some of the folks, we found out that this and several other of these restaurants are owned by a religious/cultural group. The service was great and these people are very serious about offering a nice meal and attending to your every need. We had turkey pastrami, soup, chili, and a salad. Everything was very good and nicely served This is one of those places - if it was in my town, I'd be there often.

Unique and delectable little restaurant with open all night hours. The menu features sandwiches, with a few selections and a create your own. Thankfully they had a gluten free bread option. I had a cup of chili which was very good. I had a french press of Rouibus Tea, excellent served with honey. I also had a turkey pastrami sandwich on an egg roll. Great meal. They had a Peanut Butter, banana, and honey sandwich for the little ones. They also have breakfast all day.

I happened to find myself in Pulaski making sales calls . Drove by the Yellow Deli and decided to have lunch. Little did I know I was going to a different world. A world that was peaceful and very relaxing. The service was amazing and every one there was helpful and very kind. The food was fantastic. Now I admit I had a small lunch of a soup and salad. But the Tomato Basil was tremendous. I highly recommend a visit when you are in the area,or worth a drive to this little Tennessee town.

Great Reuben sandwich! Sandwich served with house made potato chips and a pickle! Served warm and just tasted heavenly. I purchased a mug, mint toothpaste and a sweet potato pound cake! Such a cool atmosphere. Delicious food too!

I got the Yogurt parfait and lentil soup today. Both were amazing. The sandwiches here are also very good. I have never had anything I didn't like.

Such an enjoyable experience. Some of the best chili I've ever had and they make a "boring" turkey sandwich anything but. Great people, great atmosphere, definitely worth a stop in or even a special trip specifically for a good meal and experience.

You should go just to see the finishing craft of the interior. It's like what Disney creates with concrete and fiberglass but this is real. Hand hewn, carved, and sanded wood everywhere. Very creative and labor intensive. And Hey, when you have "free" labor why not. I started going here to get baked goods for clients. Everything is scratch made and spot on quality, flavor, and presentation. Very reasonably priced, a value for what you get. I went back recently for lunch and it was the perfect sandwich. I had stopped about 8AM to get a dozen cake breads for clients. The guy that checked out my order told me I should come back for lunch, so I did. I had a turkey on Kaiser Roll, with Swiss. The roll was very fresh. The turkey was perfect not too salty seemed cut from a real turkey breast. They steam the meat and cheese together before putting on the bun. I can't tell you how much better it was than the chain deli's. I'm a fan of Subway for lunch, for example, but Yellow Deli sandwiches are about the same price point and much better. The place is spotless and a joy to visit. There is the part that it's basically a non-profit church based business, there's no tax on your ticket. Some people reasonably suggest the Yellow Deli org, 12Tribes, is a cult. It seems to meet at least some definitions of what a cult is, so do several other "mainstream" churches, in my humble opine. If there's such thing as a harmless, or benign, cult, this is one. The folks there are like Amish Hipsters. No make up, plain presentation, humble demeanor. Yet you definitely get a hippie or San Francisco vibe. Sort of like if you took the typical vacuous hipster that subscribes to the separatist movement de jure and made them true believers that dedicate their lives to an atypical way of life. That seems to be what you have with YD folk. Being of the you do your thing, I'll do mine, mindset - I have no issue with how they practice faith and would support, fully, their right to practice it however they see fit so long as they harm no one in the process. All that to say, you will thoroughly enjoy your experience dining at the Yellow Deli, if you go south I-65 and have time it's worth going to Pulaski just to see and experience this place. Bravo

This place is an amazing little gem in the small town of Pulaski! We came from California for a friend's wedding and stayed up the street, and have eaten here 3 times out of the 5 days we've been here. The wait staff is exceptionally friendly. Who we believe is the owner, Ram is a true southern gentleman and welcomes us with open arms and laughter every time we walk through the doors. The food is delicious, and the Deli Rose sandwich is the best this side of the Mississippi. The cream cheese pie is to die for as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who lives within driving radius to try it. They won't disappoint!!

Absolutely stop here for a bite. The ambiance is just magical - I feel like I'm at Frontier Land in Disneyland :). The staff is so friendly, the food is clean and locally sourced, very relaxing spot. Get the Deli Rose sandwich, hot apple cider, any of their maté teas, and the cream cheese pie with strawberries. Left my heart here.

This place is amazing.. No doubt about it, best sandwich I have ever had. We made an 11 mile detour after seeing great reviews on yelp and we were not disappointed. The food was perfect, all homemade and ever so fresh! It has a hippie/Amish feel to the place and honestly cultish.. But by golly they know how to make some food! 5/5 and well deserved!

Amazing food. Each sandwich has that little extra "something" that you can pinpoint, but makes it's special and delicious. The culture and vibe here is also wholly unique. It should be a national landmark. Feels very folky. Love the vibe. Love the food. Wish they'd expand their menu a bit, but I'll take everything they currently serve!

Had lunch here today and what a treat it was. We were greeted by a friendly staff. They helped us make our choices by bringing us samples of menu items to try so we were not disappointed in our final choices of chili and roast beef sandwich's with provolone on onion roll bread. The conversation with the staff throughout the meal was very pleasant and we even got a tour of the kitchen where we saw the birthplace of the cream cheese pie with fresh strawberries that we got for desert. The ambience is spectacular with the rustic buildout and bluegrass music echoing throughout this friendly atmosphere.
