Sarge's is a great find just off the Interstate on I-65 in Tennessee at MM 14. We stopped for lunch and decided to try Sarge's and loved it as soon as we walked in the door. Great food and great service.

Road food at its best. Service was Southern sweet and prompt. Food came out timely. Portions are generous. The BBQ was so flavorful there was no need to add the sauce that came on the side. Fries perfect. Cole slaw good but unremarkable. They do their fried pickles a little differently, frying a whole spear instead of a chip. My son said his hamburger served on bread instead of bun was "outstanding".

I grew up about twenty minutes away from Sarge's, and it was an integral part of my growing up. Whenever something important happened in my life, 99% of the time it's where my family would take me. I moved away from the area five years ago, but I still come back a few times a year. And, happily, Sarge's hasn't changed. It's still as awesome as always. Their steak is awesome, although they're not always the best at cooking it to the requested temperature. If I ask for a rare steak, it usually comes out closer to medium (which works for me, since -- while I prefer my steak to be red -- I can still eat it if it's cooked more than that). If you really want a steak that's rare or medium rare, I highly recommend making it *very* clear to your server that it will be an issue for you if it comes out cooked more than that. Let's see... if you even remotely like rice, I very much recommend theirs. Their dirty rice is absolutely delicious, and it goes amazingly well with steak. Other than steak, their catfish is almost always delicious, as is their BBQ. On the negative side, if you go on a weekend or during the traditional "dinner hours", there's almost always a crowd. It can sometimes take awhile to be seated (although it's nothing compared to wait times in larger, more urban areas), and once you've ordered it can be some time before there's food at your table. It's always worth the wait, though.

Drove up from Alabama just to try it out. Fried catfish was awesome. Steaks were tender and tasty. I will make the trip again to eat here. If you like hot food try the hot coleslaw.

Best fried catfish. Lightly delicious breading and fried not greasy at all. If you like fried pickles those were good too. The BBQ pork was good and moist. Friendly and prompt service Pieces reasonably ..... Come hungry, good portions.

Passing thru to Huntsville and saw the sign. Cat fish was good. Nice and crisp. Dirty rice was pretty good I added the green onion to it. Too much food for one. Clean, good service. Would stop in again.

They serve a great marinated steak in a fun atmosphere. I enjoy the ranch house vibe and good food.

Absolutely the best food I've ever had. Fried catfish, ribs, sweet taters, hush puppies. And best of all, homemade apple cobbler and ice cream. AMAZING.
