Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Words are inadequate to describe the level of quality of the food I've had here. Pasta dishes are cooked fresh. The seasoning is perfect. A variety of food is offered. If you don't see what you want on the menu, just ask your waiter/waitress and often your special request can be prepared. In addition, the service is excellent.

This is a quaint little place with great food! I love little mom and pop restaurants and this one is perfect for a date night. But it is small, so expect a wait on the weekends! Make sure to dip your bread in their spices and oil, delicious!

Small and intimate... romantic feel with Dean Martin & Frank Sinatra music ....I liked it. Tony and I went to Paris, Tn today in search of the World's Largest Fish Fry..well we found it but so did half of Tennessee, so we opted NOT to attempt it...so now the Quest for lunch..while driving through Paris...I said...hey we are in PARIS ..the city of LOVE..let's get some italian food...so we found the OLIVE PIT Pasta House... HUMMMM....sounds interesting...the building was white stone and looked Italianish...plus we had just watched KITCHEN NIGHTMARES with Chef Ramsay on TV last night and we were in the mood for some good ITALIAN food.. LOVE LOVE LOVE the decor inside..it was very romantic. They turned an old fast food building into a good italian rendition...the wait staff all wore sold black except for the colorful ties..even the ladies.. We were Greeted and Seated immediately...A+ in my book. Our waitress arrived immediately for drink and app order..Tony ordered Budweiser and myself Soda...A+ again... I ordered personal size pizza with Pepperoni, mushroom and onions and extra cheese and it came with Italian Wedding Soup. Tony ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and salad with balsamic dressing,,she also served us fresh bread with olive oil and basil spice blend..OMG..the bread AWESOME....A+ again...HEY 3 in a row great start right???? Well, the Italian Wedding soup...cold and bland...Tony's salad was lettuce with one slice of onion and 2 cherry tomatoes with balsamic dressing...okay, I guess it's a salad..I did like the dressing and so did Tony.. Then our entrees arrived.. Tony's spaghetti wasn't too bad...the meat sauce wasn't bad. Tony ate the entire lunch portion plate..but my pizza ugh...the crust was one of those already made you pull out of a bag..the topping were added on and then it was put into the oven. There was hardly any sauce or cheese... I ate two slices but heck $9 for this....NO....I was sorely disappointed.. Would I eat here again? NO Do I recommend it to others? Well of course because my experience is my experience..yours maybe perfectly lovely. My check was $25 with taxes and I left her $5 tip..she was an awesome waitress... Very attentive and asked me if I wanted something else..she knew I was not pleased, but hey I didn't cause a scene..I never do.. Let me know how your experience was if you go...

Always enjoy this place for my Italian fix. Staff is excellent and takes great care of you. The bread and dipping sauces are perfect and you can get as much as you want. I always get Jason's Spicy Penne because it's just perfect every time. Love this place and will keep coming back.

We went to see the Eiffel Tower in Paris, TN then wanted to find a good place for lunch. Yelp reviews led us to the Olive Pit. The bread was soooo tasty and fresh! And the pizza was delicious! Great little restaurant. Would definitely recommend eating here when visiting Paris, TN.

I was surprised when I ate at this "Italian pasta house" because the stars (ratings)indicate something better then what I expected. My appitizers were basically from the supermarket freezer aisle, albiet good but I didnt expect this- I expected better. My pasta was clearly microwaved or reheated.... My expectations were not that high and I wasnt expecting AWESOME, but I also wasnt expecting a reheated frozen dinner either. Service was outstanding so I cannot complain about that. The place was nice so no complaints there either. This is not italian, its a fair attempted at boxed italian american. Beer no wine.

This places has the makings to be one of Paris's best restaurants.. The food is always good and the service is ok.. They do bring bread to your table and it is always wonderful. I do wish they had a liquor license, they do have beer. I always get the same thing so my review is kind of short. I get Jason's Spicy Penne. It is always good and the portion size is just right. I do have to say I am a bit disappointed because on of the best things on the menu they have taken off since I have been away. This being the Olive Bites... I really wish they would bring these back..

Just love it. Never been disappointed here.

Love, love, love this place! The homemade bread and olive oil & spices you dip it in is to die for! It's not a larger restaurant, and you're bound to have a wait on prime weekend times and "romantic" holidays. I've never been disappointed once out if the 20+ times we've been there!

Definitely the best restaurant in Paris, TN. Excellent pasta dishes. Favorites include Jason's Penne, Ravioli Al Forno, Chicken and mushroom risoto, and Chicken Fettecine. Great coffee and tiramisu. Service is excellent and wait staffare stable and long term employees. Great for lunch also. Closed Mondays.

The Olive Pit is decently priced and the service was pretty good. It is a little Italian restaurant that is the fusion of a hometown feel with food sub par of the Olive Garden. There are romantic looking benches around the perimeter of the building and the interior was dark conveying a European ambiance. The food meal came with a basic house salad. Overall not the type of place to write home about but much better than fast food.

Great food and service. They bring bread and olive oil to the table while being seated. The pasta is their specialty and they have creative specials. The cook/chef are always willing to accommodate. I usually get the pizza. Their house salad dressing is good; balsamic vinaigrette.
