The service is fine. It's clean and newer decor. The food is OK. If you come in not expecting to be wowed, your expectations will be met.

We knew what we were in for when we drove up to Emmanuel's. Italian out of a can. We knew it. But we didn't want to drive tonight and thought just maybe it would not be Italian out of a can. We were wrong. Or I guess we were right. I don't know about their Greek offerings (BTW, isn't Greek-Italian a red flag to start with?), but their Italian dishes were terrible. Nice servers who tried. But that does not make up for terrible food. We enjoyed a nice conversation with the table next to us about the food. They were complaining about the Alfredo sauce tasting "grainy" and of it being heated up in a microwave. They walked out on their meals. There are only two Italians in town I recommend: Portobello's and Il Primo. For chains, Carrabba's. My suggestion is to avoid the others.

Went to Emmanuels tonight for my daughters birthday. We had called ahead for a table for 10 and told we would have a table ready. When we got there at 6 it was pretty empty and we were seated right away. We ordered our drinks and looked over the menu. Our server took our order, couple pizzas, cheeseburger, chicken livers, and a calzone. We sat for 45 minutes and in about 20 the chicken livers and cheeseburger came out. While we waited our drinks were refilled and at 45 minutes the cook came out and told us they had ran out of gas and could no longer cook until they got it refilled in an hour. We were still charged for all of our drinks and what 2 orders we did get. Our server did say he was sorry and that it wasnt his fault. I noticed as we decided what to do they were closing the whole place down and the employees were going out to smoke. We ended up ordering from rafeals and it literally took 15 minutes. This was my 1st and last visit.

We really like the sandwiches here. Pizza is pretty good too. Most everyone is nice and the owners seem like good people.

We decided to give this place a try, despite the mixed reviews. I think after this initial visit, we won't be going back. First - the food was less than desirable. The boyfriend got a gyro, fries, and a side of meatballs. His gyro was cold. The meat was barley even warm to the touch. The meat did have a good flavor, but would have been more enjoyable if it was hot. Boyfriend described the meatballs as "tasting like Ched Boyardee!" He was less than impressed with the "homemade" sauce. I did try a piece of the meatball and agreed it was not very good. He said the best thing he had were the French fries. I ordered the chicken fettuccini Alfredo since the waitress recommended it. The chicken was extremely dried out and lacking flavor. It did not have the taste of "freshly cooked" chicken. The Alfredo sauce was BLAND ! For being "homemade," it was horrible... I've had better stuff out of the jar! The boyfriend tried the sauce and even said it was bland. I hardly ate any of it because it was that bad. The best thing I had their all night was my Greek side salad. Second - even though the place was not packed, they had six servers on the floor, and service was still slow. It took forever to get our drinks and our poorly made entrees. A server was actually sitting at a table taking an order ... Not kneeling down, sitting with them. This was weird to me and unprofessional in my opinion. Third - despite the horrible food and the wait for our drinks, our server was very nice. I didn't catch her name. When she asked if I wanted a box I politely told her no thank you. First thing she asked was "was it bland?" Hmmm. Makes me wonder if they get complaints about the sauce? I was honest with her and told her I didn't really enjoy my dinner. She went to talk with the chef and I ended up getting my meal for free. So for everything we paid $13.00 and I appreciated her doing that for us. If it wasn't for her good attitude I would probably give this place 1 star. Overall, with the long wait for food/drinks and horrible tasting food, we will not be going back and will not recommend this place to anyone!

My review is only for the Italian food as my party of 5 all had different Italian dishes, sorry to say everything was pathetic. I think they should stick to Greek! I have been to Gondilier Cleveland many times several years ago and the food was good but this was a big disappointment.

New everything in here so all is clean. They are getting ready to put furniture on the outside patio so it will be just in time for summer. Out waitress was Peaches and as in the other guy reviewing this restaurant she was friendly and professional in taking care of us. So, I highly recommend asking for her as you come in. My friend has never been here and asked questions since she has never been here. Peaches answered them patiently and helped her decide what to order. We both ordered spaghetti as we normally do in all Italian restaurants. We both were surprised how good it was. The lunch spaghetti which is what we got was only $5.50. The sweet tea was southern made.

This restaurant is beautiful from the outside, and nice on the inside. Open and bright floor-plan. They offer a small buffet that includes 3 pizzas (you can request a specific pizza to be placed on the bar), soup, and salad. If you've ever eaten at Gondolier in Cleveland, TN then it's basically the same menu with slight improvements and additions such as offering a veggieburger. Pros: great veggieburger (bean patty), great salad, great and large calzone. Cons: service can be iffy, with us even having a waitress quit in the middle of lunch service. Sat there for 20 minutes before anyone ever realized that the waitress who quit had tables that she was serving.

Italian? Disgusting food, crappy service. Went with my family and we had ordered 2 appetizers, fried mushrooms and calamari. The mushrooms were near rotten and the calamari smelled bad like it was spoiled. The pizza sat out for close to 10 mins before the waitress thought to bring it out and reminded me of frozen oven baked from the grocery store. The Alfredo tasted bland and came out at room temp. The egg plant parmesan got my father in law sick he had stomach pains all that night. Had some other seafood pasta and my mother in law took maybe 5 bites. Save your money and time. We will never ever go back. What a joke. Felt like I was scammed out of my money when walking out of the restaurant. ITALIAN???! Hahahah!!

Yo, on the real, this is Gondolier south. If you like the Gondolier in Cleveland you're gonna like this place. If not, well, I'm sorry that your taste buds are broken. Too bad, buddy. Seriously, you're missing out. Straight up, I'm not a pasta guy. Can't tell you much about it here, though the spaghetti in Cleveland is apparently legendary. I don't eat much meat either. But pizza is my game. And the pizza here is A-mazing. One bite and I was saying "hammertime". Sauce has serious flavor. The cheese is a beautiful blanket on top. Not too much to collapse the crust, but not so little that it disappears into the sauce. The crust is great on its own, but to really amp it up ask for a side of some of that tuhzeeky (?) jajeeky (?) TSATSIKI (there we go) sauce. I grabbed a gyro while passing through for a quick lunch and it was great too. Just like the joints in downtown Nashville, but without the sleaze factor. Other winners: greek salad, pastichio (? I'm terrible with these furren words), and if you're wanting something light and satisfying, the chicken souvlaki (surely I got that right) wrap is familiar yet completely different. It's great not to have to go all the way to Cleveland when I'm in Chattanooga. Nothin' but love!

Note that closing time is NOT 11 pm!! Apparently they close whenever business drops down to a certain level or they feel like it. We went on a Sat night at 9:30 and were turned away. On previous visits food was OK but nothing special.

Been to this restaurant several times and every time I wanted to order the eggplant parnassian. This time I did... And wish I didn't. I like it at Provino's and even at Olive Garden. But this was bad! I know a lot of their food is pretty good, but this was terrible! I can usually dismiss a lot of things... But I was truly disappointed with the eggplant. Should have gotten the chicken.

I could not order anything at 8:37 because they closed their grill at 8:30. What more can I say other than they said they were sorry that the hours had changed.

We arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday evening to find the restaurant nearly empty. After waiting five minutes to be seated, we were seated without a greeting or even a "hello." After sitting for nearly twenty minutes without the acknowledgment of a waitstaff member we left. As we were leaving, we noticed that the waitress was sitting on rear smacking gum. I'd never return here. Awful service.

Been going to their sister restaurant "Gondolier" in Cleveland since I was born. Was so excited when I saw the menu at Emmanuels was the exact same. Best Gyro I have ever had. Of course i'm biased because i've been having the same gyro for 30 years and its like trying to criticize your mother's home cooking. Their potato salad is simply to die for as well. I am surprised at the negative reviews. I love having the drive thru option, especially with kids. Keep up the good work.

Our server (Ben) was great. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and a side of meatballs. The sauce was on the sweeter side than what I was used to, but it was nonetheless very good. My friend had the gyro wrap and it also appeared to be good. I'm looking forward to returning when the weather is nicer and eating outside.

My wife and I were really disappointed in coming here. The food tasted like reheated frozen food and the pasta sauce was Ragu like. We will not return here. Still craving another good restaurant in Ooltewah.

The pleasant older gentleman in the kitchen area spoke excitedly to customers and staff with a strong accent I could only guess was either Italian or Greek. I shared that excitement as I anticipated the food that would be emerging from the back must be genuine, perhaps made from recipes passed down for generations! This enthusiasm for great food lasted right up to the moment it arrived. Then it took a big nose-dive. As we ate, depression slowly set in. I ordered the Chicken Picatta. What arrived was a large chicken breast sitting atop regular spaghetti noodles. The chicken had grill marks on it that made me believe it was grilled. Once I stuck a fork in it, it was clear that perhaps at some point in its existence it had been on a grill, but the majority of its time, I believe, was spent sitting in a steam table or similar contraption to keep it heated. It fell apart easily and was incredibly dried out. The spaghetti was overcooked, and the dish itself had very little flavor. It had capers, and there was a hint of lemon flavor, but otherwise fell flat on my taste buds. None of the zing I typically get from this dish at other restaurants. My wife had the Pastitio. She faired no better in her choice. Made fresh, this would have been good. Hers was made some time ago, cut into a portion and attempted to reheat. Although the waitress warned her to be careful of the hot plate, no such warning was necessary for the food. Edges were warm, center was cool. Flavor was less than epic. She described it as "Beefaroni" like the childhood canned favorite. The service was good and the staff very friendly. Ambiance is more appealing from the outside, with the inside appearing to have been put together from used booths and tables. Lots of potential for improvement here. The menu says that the pizza dough is made from scratch so maybe that will be their forte. We will probably give that a try before we write this place off entirely.

Just left the restaurant. On the menu I saw Pastitsio and started salivating, it is my favorite. I ordered. Server was pleasant and attentive. A full half hour later my food shows up. I am starving and it's after 7. My meal comes buried in red meat sauce????? I was very hungry so I ate it. To add insult to injury the sauce was WAY to salty and it was in a big pile. Could barely tell there was cinammon or Béchamel sauce it was so salty. When the server came with the bill, I told her and she told me to tell the owner when I went to the register. I told him, he said they shouldn't have put all that on. He clearly knew what it was supposed to be, but clearly wasn't watching the cooks. Never offered a discount or anything, but did say thanks. Disappointing and a waste of my time. I need something to wash down this salty taste, ugh! 2 stars is generous.

First visit was really good. Our party of 4 had Spaghetti / meat sauce, Chicken Parmesan and Lasagna. No complaints from anyone, Lasagna was exactly the way I like it. Bread was fresh, not too greasy, not too much garlic. Salads were fresh and crisp. Servers were friendly and efficient. We are so glad to have such a quality spot so close to us. We will definitely be back.

The outside of the store is nice but it's all downhill from there. First sign of disaster is when you walk in the door. The decor makes you feel like this was an old chinese buffet, which is confusing since this is a brand new building. The restaurant is also just very cramped and musty. Looking at the menu is daunting and they inexplicably have greek items also so if you arent craving lasagna they can grill you up a lamb kabob if need be. The menu is about three times bigger than any non chain menu should be which pretty much ensures that nothing is going to be fresh and our entrees proved that. Our server, bless her heart, was new so she couldn't offer up much help with the menu but we ended up ordering what she said she liked. I got the manicotti with meat sauce. Sauce was Ragu quality, noodles were rubbery tasting, and the cheese was tasteless. My sister in law got the shrimp linguini which was a mistake. She said it tasted like dishwater. I wasn't going anywhere near it. Brother ordered the calzone which he referred to as "there." We also got "cheese sticks" as they were titled which we assume was mozzarella and these would have been fine but again the Ragu dipping sauce bright these from a C+ to a D. Meal cost 50 dollars after tip. Wasn't a great birthday present to my brother but we live on. DO NOT EAT HERE.

The place is clean. My wife and I wanted to try this new restaurant. We tried the manicotti and the 4 cheese eggplant. They seemed a bit pricey but they came with salad and garlic bread. The regular salad was ok at best. The Blue Cheese dressing did nit have much taste. The Greek salad was a regular salad with Feta Cheese on it, no olives and the dressing was strangely sweet, which I was not expecting. The manicotti came and looked like it just came out of the freezer. It had 2 of them with a square piece of white cheese and a generic marinara sauce. The garlic bread was cold and hard. The 4 cheese eggplant was pretty good but it had the same generic marinara sauce and only 4 small bite size pieces. The menu did not mention it came spaghetti and the spaghetti covered more than half of the plate. It was covered with the same generic no frills marinara. The service was good, except for the waitresses sitting in the dinning room talking on there cellphones. I will give the restaurant one try, but only for the burgers and fries or the pizza.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Greek Cuisine

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.

Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.

For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.
