I stopped in at 10:30 on Friday night and the place was very very quiet. Plenty of parking outside though. Not in a mood for a steak or a burger, I got the pulled pork dinner, which comes with two sides. Hot mashed potatoes and cool cole slaw. Delicious! Cold beer, though the Coors Light tasted a little off.

food was fine. Great service. Good for kids. We were from Ohio a large group with rowdy small kids. They took great care of us.

This is not a bad stop when you look around at your other options in the area. The service was ok, not great and not bad. The food is just what you would expect from a joint like this. I had the chicken fried steak with collard greens and mashed potatoes. The steak was nice and crisp the potatoes were not bad but to my surprise they did a great job on the greens, they had a nice kick to them and full of flavor.

I just had to send a comment on our meal this evening, we usually go to other Restaurants, especially Ruby Tuesday's! But tonight has totally changed our minds, we enjoyed one of the best meals we've had in a very long time, therefor we definitely will be returning to our local Newport, Tn Sage brush steak house!!!! We got our meals to go, the service was great, the price was way cheaper than what we have been paying at other restaurants and our food was exactly what we ordered and absolutely delicious!!! Thank You so much Michael & Sheila Burnett

This is the best place to eat in Newport. The food was great! Service was good as well.

This place has been going downhill for a while. The last time I was here will be the last. The steak tasted like liver. They got rid of the cheese biscuits which were marginal at best. Their prime rib was bland.

Worst service ever. We walked in and it took 5 mins before a hostess even came over. When she finally did she just stared at us. I had to initiate the conversation. No server to our table until about 15 mins later. We finally ordered some onion blossoms for an Appetizer and when the waiter brought them he dropped them all over the table. No one ever checked for drink refills unless they had food to bring to the table. Terrible. The food was also cold. This was on a Sunday at 5pm. Not many people at all in the restaurant. When we did leave we got bombarded by beggars for money. Stay away.

What on earth were those appetizer things?? Those were amazing. They were kind of like cheddar biscuits or something but they were garlicy and delicious. I could have eaten like 100 of them. I ordered the chicken covered in cheese and it was good. I can't even remember what my husband had but I think he liked it ok. The service was nice but slow. The restaurant part was dead but the bar area was full so I guess that is the spot to be even with a not so great beer selection.

Half of my steak was rare and the other was well done so I guess this is their way of doing a medium :/

I came to town for business and ate here one evening. I was seated promptly and the staff seemed friendly, but the service was very slow. Fortunately, I was not in a hurry. I was asked if I wanted biscuits and I said no, but my waitress forgot and I was served them anyway. I tried them and they were delicious; probably very, very rich with butter or lard but definitely a comfort food. When I asked what white wines they had (I know, I was supposed to order beer or whiskey, or at least a red wine), my waitress said she had no idea and that my hostess was supposed to have given me a menu. Upon receiving a menu, I asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio which my waitress was confused by. I think I was the first person to order wine at this restaurant in 10 years. After asking me how to pronounce it twice and finally asking to see it on the menu in order to see how to spell it, she was off to ask the bartender for a glass of "bin dredge" or something, which was kind of amusing. It was a similar story a short while later for a glass of Chardonnay. For my meal, I ordered ribeye with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Where I am from, mixed vegetables are usually steamed al dente and served on the plate with the main entrée, but I was surprised to see my vegetables arrived in a bowl, having been boiled and placed in butter. It was basically butter vegetable soup. The ribeye was unnecessarily seasoned, but it was fine and my mashed potatoes were delicious. I was slightly amused so I gave this place 2 stars, although if I had been impatient I probably would have given it 1 star. I definitely felt out of place here and the staff was not knowledgable about its menu, slow and not particularly attentive, and the food was neither here nor there.

Really good service, friendly staff, food was good and arrived fast. We had the salads which were really good, and 2 of us also had steak, not quite cooked to order but very good. Cute place, clean and quiet, music not overwhelmingly loud.

Stopped in about five o'clock on a Friday, table for three. Interior looks tired. Seated promptly. Drinks came fast. Appetizer was onion strings. Greasy and hard to eat with your fingers. Entree came slowly, a cheeseburger. Sirloin tips with onions and peppers, and 8oz Sirloin. Med well. Tips tasted off. Steak was thin and dry, obviously frozen. Burger was ok. No condiments were given. As people came in service, all but stopped. Dessert was some strawberry thing. Fruit was frozen. Took forever to get the check. Had to pay on the way out. Very disappointing, will not return.

I came to Sagebrush since it seemed to get 'okay' reviews on both Yelp and Tripadvisor. I admit I am a huge fan of Texad Roadhouse and should know not to try other steakhouses. Our biscuits were being made or the kitchen was behind but they came out later into the meal. I was surprised we got bread since there was no mention of it until it was handed to us. The food itself was a bit on the salty side for me. The 'biscuits' tasted like a saltier version of cheddar biscuits from Red Lobster. My steak was a bit on the dry side and I couldn't even touch but maybe the corner of it.

Came here for a steak after a long four days of hiking in the Smokies. I had the 6 oz. sirloin, collard greens and poblano soup with white cheddar. The best part of the meal was the soup...it was very good. However, the collard greens were awful. It tasted like there was something pickled in them and it did NOT taste good. The steak itself was just decent, nothing better than one you could make at home. I paid $1.49 more to get it topped with mushrooms and those were a little sad. They looked pretty dehydrated, whereas another guy who had his steak topped with mushrooms and onions had big fresh-looking mushrooms. Whatever. The cheese fries for an appetizer were loaded with cheddar, bacon and green onion. Pretty good, but that's hard to mess up. The complimentary bread was pretty tasty too. Overall, it was a bit below average for a meal, though, so that's why it gets 2 stars. The service was good and our server was very nice, although she was busy. We sat in the bar area and noticed one very inebriated man leaning on multiple people sitting at the bar and stumbling around spilling beer. Entertaining? Yes. But should he have been cut off? Absolutely. That is all.

It would be a five if the service was better. Go for the ribs on Tuesday night and they are all you can eat, but even better than that, they taste great! Awesome ribs!

Good food and very friendly service. We were there on a Friday night and we got right in and had fast service. The well drinks were not up to par but the beer was good.
