Not one of my favorites in Nashville. Your going to experience more of the Vandy college crowd if you go here during the weekends. I love their karaoke though, you would be surprised most of the people are pretty good. The bathroom situation is horrible. It can become crowded, so if you want to experience Winners my advice is to go early. I have never tried their food so can't comment on that. But if your visiting, or over 25, I wouldn't recommend this establishment. The only reason this is getting 3 stars and not 1 or 2 is because the service is exceptional.

$2 domestic beer in long neck bottles on Funday Sunday May 18th, Sunday, Tony and I decided to Urban Hike today again in Nashville. So, after we made a few stops we ended up here...Winner's Bar and Grill on the West Side off Broadway near Vanderbilt University. It is a Sunday and about 11am..so its not really crowded...A good thing! Our Waitress was very friendly and quick to greet us, but didn't give us her name..We liked this bar right from the start. Well lit with Natural light and decor was in Football, with TV on the screens so it reminded us of a sports bar. There is a corner band area, not really large but right size...the tables are all high tops and one large booth. They are spread apart for ample room to move around. The waitress brought us menus and got our drink order. She immediately told Tony the drink special is Funday Sunday $2 domestic long necks...Great price...so Tony ordered his favorite...can you guess...??? Budweiser I ordered a soda...we looked through the menu (very simple two sides only) but we opted not to eat here. We already decided on Five Points on the other side of town.. The music was casual rock and country blend..nothing major. They allow smoking inside and out on the patio...a plus in Tony's book. They have on street parking (if you can grab a spot) and a private parking lot you can access from the alleyway. The patio area is nice and large.. I really liked this spot and I would go here again..The prices were right, staff friendly and quick and menu looked adequate...next time will have to try some actual food...lol !!! But the beer pricing was great...$6 for both drinks with taxes and tip

Winner's is hands down my favorite place to karaoke in Nashville. While there are some aspiring country music singers scattered throughout, I feel more comfortable singing my random crazy songs here with a group of friends. A lot of downtown karaoke bars are 80% amazing singers, 20% random drunk people. I like that I don't feel that I'm the only bad singer out there when I visit Winner's! Plus, you never know who you will run into at Winner's. One night a random dude came in and sang "Friends in Low Places" with someone from our group who was on stage; it turns out the guy is a well known songwriter in Nashville, and he WROTE that song. Wow. The prices are reasonable and you are sure to meet some new friends! Plus I love the patio out front and the randomness that ensues! Note: karaoke is only on Friday and Saturdays :)

I can't say for sure why we chose to spend our afternoon at Winners and not Losers when we all know where my friends and I stand. However, with some folks (not me) it's probably difficult to diagnose the full extent of their problems with a cursory glance, so they let us inside anyway. In any case, Winners might look like your average sports bar, but they did have complimentary bail bonds koozies, picklebacks, buckets of six Bud LIghts for $12, and the sweetest bartenders around. And although the food is just your standard fried fare, the cook will gladly give you handful of flour as long assure him that you just want to slap your friend in the face with it.

Oh Winners, you fascinating little Midtown gem. Many nights have been spent here, listening to karaoke (avidly avoiding the singing on stage part myself), enjoying buckets of cold brews, singing and dancing along with the crowds. I always find it ironic that you're less crowded than your neighbor Losers, but you're always busy on a weekend night and you offer the fantastic Whiskey Jams on Monday nights, showcasing local talent and surprise guests. I can honestly say there has never been a night where I've come here and not been entertained or amused. You're quick with the drinks, you have a great patio, and a prime location. I'm not sure much else needs to be said. You're a great little Nashville haunt, a fun place to go on any night; though I'd appreciate it if you outlawed the singing of slow songs after midnight (can we say fun sponging?).

Winners really ought to post something, somewhere, on their website that says they're only 21+. With a website that promises a "great culinary experience", my boyfriend and I (who are 20 and were visiting Nashville) decided to try it out and catch some football/grab some lunch in December. We got there at noon, hardly anyone else there, and a waitress who didn't give us her name comes up and says, can I see your IDs? We were confused, but gave them to her and she says, "um, you people are too young. You need to leave right now." We were shocked, as a place marketing themselves as a bar and grill with a decent menu selection is rarely 21+ at all, let alone at noon. Total letdown, and even though we'll be over 21 next time we visit, we certainly won't be heading to Winners or Losers.

Whiskey Jam is fun and the crowd can be cool, but drinks are way overpriced for what you get. My 7&7 cost almost $8, came in a tiny plastic cup and tasted disgusting. I couldn't tell if it was diet 7UP or a dirty dispenser. The bartender never asked if I wanted to keep my tab open, she just closed it, then acted annoyed when I came back for another drink later on. She didn't ask me that time, either! I'd give this place one star, except I brushed against a supposedly famous country singer who performed that night. His personality was as stiff as the bus stop benches his face is on, though.

A group of us stumbled onto this place right before a crazy thunderstorm. We were looking for not only shelter, but food, drinks and A/C. We found it. For a bar.. the food was good. Granted, its normal bar food, but it wasnt bad (like some places can be). Our group had buckets of beer and buckets of cider, salads, fried pickle chips, cheesey tater tots, cheese sticks, and a few burgers. The prices were AWESOME and the food was tasty. Were were in on a Saturday and they had karaoke. It wasnt like the "professional" sounding karaoke that you would find on Broadway... it was real.. just plane ol' bad singers having a good time. It was more relaxed. Id go again.

Needed a place to hangout while waiting on another reservation, reminded me of why I hated bars in college. If people are belligerent at 8:15pm, something is wrong.

Solid bar and grill. Ate dinner and had drinks during whiskey jam. Food was good, service was great too. Drinks weren't over priced nor was the bill. All alcohol wasn't under done, which made for perfect drinks.

Solid solid bar! Great food!!! cheap ass drinks, great bartenders. Did a one hit wonder on karaoke night when i was wasted. I wish this place was around me because I would be there once a week. Awesome Nashville spot

We were visiting Nashville for a few days and we decided to find a nice local pub to spend one of those nights... Boy what a mistake that was, I probably should've listened to the uber driver when he said that the downtown bars are "nicer to the outsiders". The lady bartenders were very rude to us from the beginning and they were not shy about it either. One of the ladies got irritated because I found a fly in my drink and she had to remake it, really? A few hours in they decided to express their feelings by cursing at us, we decided to take our business somewhere else because the lady bartenders made racist comments and the manager "turtle" did nothing when these allegations were brought to him. Definitely not worth you money or time!

Great place to listen to live music and grab a few beers. Open late and great house band.

This place is alright, went here on a Friday night and the atmosphere was pretty chill. The reason I'm rating 3 stars is because my girlfriend ordered a top shelf drink and the bar tender started off pouring her rail liquor. She corrected her but she left the rail liquor in the drink and shortly afterwards my girlfriend felt sick (not because of being too drunk, cause and effect of the rail liquor). We had to end our night early due to this so if you really can't stomach cheap liquor, make sure they pour you the good stuff.

Ive been here two times and had two different experiences. The first was on an early Sunday afternoon. It was great! It was not crowded, had cheaper beer, and an outdoor patio with plenty of seating. The last time was during a Saturday night. It wasnt so good. It was very crowded and people were hostile. I was shoved and pushed the whole time. Some people seemed hateful and irritated. There was a fight that broke out also that I nearly ended up being in the center of accidentally.

This is a fun little bar that seems like it might be the kind of place to really let loose. I wasn't really in a karaoke kind of mood, but it was fun hearing those brave souls step up to the mike and give it their all. Props to the strong drinks!

Another Friday night midtown happy hour went way longer than it should have, and we decided to wander down to somewhere we'd never been - enter Winner's. (Loser's looked too packed, meh) It was pretty empty for 10pm-ish on a Friday night, but we were happy to get a table that fit everyone. We should have seen the warning signs up front - the bouncer asked where we were from, and when we said we were locals he seemed very surprised. He made a comment about the bar being mostly tourists. Whatever, we were on the way to drunk and were told there was Karaoke. The service wasn't bad, the space was nice and clean, but the atmosphere was just a little off. Not exactly the crowd you want for late night karaoke. Let's just say we got a lot of blank stares when our rowdy group performed our rendition of Wilson Phillips' Hold On (think the last scene of the movie Bridesmaids...) Overall, not a bad experience, but I don't think we'll be wandering that way again after happy hour unless we're just in the mood for a quiet beer.

Soooo one night we wandered up to Loser's and it was so packed they weren't letting anyone in so we went next door to Loser's sister bar - Winner's. Somehow I've never once been in this place despite being in the area almost every weekend. As soon as I walked in though I was pleased because to my left was a stage and on that stage was someone singing what can only be described as bad to mediocre karaoke! These are my peoples! So we ordered a bucket of beer and grabbed a table. Yes, another bonus was that it was busy but not so packed that we couldn't find a place to park it. So the karaoke - he has a good selection of songs. I didn't see a book - I think you just ask the guy. And if you want to be up next you can be. My brother said "I want to sing next" and handed him a $20 (yeah, he was drunk). Next thing you hear is my brother being welcomed to the stage. I tipped him a $5 because I wasn't trying to impress a honey and I still was up within 15 minutes. The crowd was all over the board but there was a large contingent of mid20s really really drunk people dancing around. I didn't mind though - I need someone to dance and get excited when I'm rockin the Humpty Dance right? Party on kiddos! Overall I liked it and think Winner's is A-OK. It will remain to be seen if we venture back here but I'm thinking it is a definite possibility since karaoke is on the menu!!

Winners definitely lives up to it's name in my book! Everytime I've been here (primarily on Fridays and Saturdays) I have had a blast!! You can grab drinks with your friends, shake your tailfeather, and sing your little heart out (karaoke every Friday and Saturday)! Everytime I have been here I have shut the place down. There has always been a cool partytime atmosphere here! Winners is awesome!

I think about here is where the night begins to get blurry for me. After several bars we pass Winners and say "yes". As we walk in immediately to the left was the stage and much to our surprise it's karaoke night!! We put in our songs and pushed our way to the back where the bar is. After reading several other reviews I understand why people come here for karaoke on the off chance seeing someone famous. We really didn't care we just wanted a drink and to sing a song. Once again as other bars on our stops the drinks were super strong and the bartender was cordial. The patrons were also friendly and this is where we heard about the one of the next bars on our whirlwind drinking tour of Nashville. Back to karaoke, I wish we could have sang but there was so many people there that we could have been there all night and maybe sang once if we were lucky. We weren't impressed by the bar, just like any other karaoke bar in the world so time to move on the the next bar!

If you like over aggressive doormen who enjoy beating women then this is the bar for you...If you are a normal human being who just enjoys a good time I would recommend someplace else.

Honestly, this was stop number 5 in a 8 bar night, so the edges are a little blurry on this bar. We went about midnight on a Friday night and it was super-packed! The place is huge and loud. You really did have to fight your way through the crowd to get to the bar. The decor and atmosphere were nothing special. It feels essentially like a barn with a bar on one end and a stage on the other. It is the opposite of intimate. On this night, they were doing karaoke... which I love! But this place was so busy, you could have stood around for 2 hours waiting to sing. We didn't bother staying. We all had one drink and booked it... Honestly there are too many amazing bars in Nashville with friendly crowds and bartenders and strong drinks to waste your time at this one.

Whiskey Jam again and to my surprise James Otto sang again! People, this was worth my plane ticket from LAX. Thanksgiving it was.

You never know who you'll see doing karaoke at this place! Jay Demarcus (from Rascal Flatts) and Phillip Sweet (from Little Big Town) jumped up and did 3 or 4 songs the last time I was there - too fun! I'm not a huge country fan, but it really was a cool moment. This is very much a dive-ish bar so don't plan on having any long conversations. It's super close to Vandy and Belmont so fair warning about the number of fraternity guys and gals. (not that there's anything wrong with that, just lends to a certain type of atmosphere.) Cost: Typical bar prices. Tip: Good luck with parking, it's a pain in the @$$ on the weekends.

Really like the vibe of this place. We stopped in for drinks and music while in town and the staff was friendly, the crowd was fun, and the music was great. Really glad we stopped by and if I'm ever in the area again, this will probably be our first choice for a place to grab drinks.

I had a much better experience at Winners than I did at the next door bar, Loser's.I went to Winner's as the last stop on an UYE Mid-town pub crawl., and it was the perfect place to end the night. The bar is nothing special, just another place to grab a drink. But, they had karaoke. I haven't been to a karaoke bar in a very long time. And it's been even longer since I sang karaoke, but I did it. I think it might have had something to do with all the liquid courage I had before arriving at Winners. The service was quick, we even had someone coming around and checking on us. And to my surprise, the place was not filled with obnoxious college kids. Overall, we had a great time at Winners.

Nice people, great music, and perfect location. Even though it was snowing during our recent trip to Nashville, we made our way to Winners for Whiskey Jam on Monday night. Talk about a good time...we laughed, we listened, and we met some wonderful Nashvillians who couldn't have been nicer. Looking forward to seeing the Whiskey Jam crew in Chicago on April 20th. Thanks for a great time, friends.
