I am here at least three nights a week including Wednesday night for poker. Friday and Saturday nights are when it's best for dancing and meeting people. Go visit Alan on the patio and be sure to check in on foursquare.

Need a break from all the country? Try Throwdown. Always a mix of people. Just remember that everyone is looking to have a good time, and then make it happen! Drinks are a little more expensive here then the other bars nearby, but it will give you some variety too.

So your in Nashville. You want to step into something not to country. This is for sure the place downtown not country. Interesting mix of people for sure. You had everythning from cowboy boots & buckles to gold teeth and dreads. The music was fast, blaring, rap. Most of the bars in Nashville are about live music. This one was the traditional dance bar. The dance floor was busy but you could grab a table and people watch in this place. There were pool tables with betting going on...people making out in the corner which was frowned upon by security and they broke it up. two beers and two shots ran $24 which seemed to be the norm for pricing.....a good mix of locals and tourists.

Me and my buddy got in before the cover charge and got wrist bands - we back back a bacherolette party of 12 and they let them all in free and gave us all free shots. Less expensive and just as much fun as the Coyote Ugly.

Definitely not a rock bar. More rap/hip hop. Free cover for the ladies, I think I bought a drink for 7$ though.

Went to the Throwdown "Rock Bar" to catch some live music outside of country. Had stopped by earlier to find out the hours, and they had country on the jukebox. The person who I am guessing is an owner or manager told me the hours and said they had live "rock" music starting at 6 pm. I looked at him and he assured me that it would not be this music, that was jukebox and they don't play anything like that there (country). Stopped by around 8 pm that night to find live music, but COUNTRY!!! not Rock at all. All the staff were wanna be rockers, looked like they were dressed up for Halloween a few days early. I was so disappointed. I like country and all but was looking for a change of pace, and seeing I was told that is what I would find there only to find more country I was irritated to say the least. We had our drinks and walked out. We stopped by Doc Holidays which did have some rock music, much friendlier staff, and overall better bar. DON'T go to the Throwdown "Rock Bar" unless your looking for another country bar, but with less friendly staff.
