Thought I'd give this place another chance but now here I am RE-DOWNLOADING the Yelp app just to leave a review. Not only did I just spend $9 on a very runny smoothie, but the staff could not be bothered to even help suggest options while I tried to discuss what I was looking for. Guys, I was the ONLY person in the building. I asked questions to which the girl at the front offered back "yeah, I don't know" and continued a previous conversation with another employee. Yuck. I was going to rate it two stars until I read other reviews and discovered it's not even local or organic fruit! I was sticker shocked when my smoothie was nearly $10... Not a characteristic you see in this neighborhood. I really wanted a berry and instead of heading to whole foods for one, I decided to give this place a shot. I'm always a supporter of local places when given a choice. .... After seeing my total I had half a mind to say, "never mind" but not typically cheap, I thought at least it's good ingredients and I'm supporting a local business. I agree with other reviewer, the staff seemed cold and uninterested. The environment was trendy but uninviting. I grabbed my smoothie and left. The most importantly, the smoothie was mediocre at best. $10 would have been better spent on 2 whole foods smoothies. Had I knew it wasn't even locally sourced (on absence of not being organic) I would have politely declined and went elsewhere. I'd only give it another shot if they did more consciously sourced buying or cut the price in half.

My girlfriend and I made a pitstop into the urban juicer while we on 8th street. We had passed it many times as we are avid Smiling Elephant fans. Pad thai and smoothies don't go great together so it wasn't until recently that we tried this place out. We were kind of pumped about this place. We both love smoothies and juice bars. We tried the house favorite, the Well Being and a Strawbana. They were ok. Nothing special. To their credit, the ingredients appeared fresh. We stuck around and finished half our drinks. The place just feels vanilla. It's got a modern kind of sleek look but is not particularly inviting. They also had some sandwiches and half wraps for sale. They were pre-packed and ready to go near the counter. I found this unappetizing, but it is convenient. Overall, I thought the juices were ok and the place lacked any character. It had a manufactured hipster feel to it. Not for me. I prefer the Whole Foods juice bar to be honest. GF Quote: "ehhh"

The first time I went to Urban Juicer, I did not have the greatest experience. The employees were not very friendly and the drink I bought was not good at all. I decided to try it again today and got the Liver Lover and was not a fan at all. I love juices and always go to Sips in Donelson to get juices with the same ingredients, but there is just something about the proportion that Urban Juicer uses that does not make the drinks taste good at all. I would not recommend Urban Juicer since I have had better fresh juices in Nashville.

Love their juices of course, but if you haven't tried their sandwiches - you must! The Deh'ai or whatever it is called is by far my favorite sandwich I've ever had. SO GOOD. Love this place and the staff is always very nice and helpful.

I can't get enough of this place! Not only are the juices & smoothies tasty, but the staff is full of the friendliest folks you'll ever meet! I recommend the Well Being juice with a "Flu Shot" to begin. Talk about a power punch of nutrients! Though it's typically a brief stop, The Urban Juicer has become one of my favorites!

I've been here twice and both times I had great service with some good juice. Both times I usually have a little pulp in my juice which I really don't like. The prices however are a bit crazy for not even being organic l. No think I payed close to $9 for a juice. To me that's a bit crazy. Service was great and my juice was made fast. Probably won't be back though, to expensive for my blood. Lol

Oh this place is the best place in Nashville. Juice, Smoothies, Wheat Germ shots, whatever your fancy, they have it. And it is delicious! Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and great with crowds. My fav is the Fountain of Youth :-) Who wouldn't want to look and feel younger! Very tasty and refreshing.

After passing the urban juicer almost every day, I finally had the chance to stop and give it a try. I got a green smoothie for myself and the wake up call for my husband. My smoothie was pretty good and very filling. My husband loved his juice. The service was great and I enjoyed my entire experience. The girl who took my order was very friendly, made some suggestions, and we had a conversation. I loved the bowls of fresh fruit and vegetables behind the counter. As other people have mentioned, the price is pretty steep. I paid more than I expected, but I know the product costs a lot to make and their rent is probably high. I can't afford to be a frequent customer, but I will most likely return.

So happy this place is finally open in the former home of Fiddlecakes across from Smiling Elephant. Stopped by today for pre-made Chicken Curry wrap ($3.50) and it was delicious. It was also in easy to access packaging that made it easy to eat while driving, and it was not soggy. They have ramekins of almonds and cranberries for fast snacks. Don't bother parking in the lot. Most of the spaces in the back are now for the salon upstairs. Park on a side street and walk over. They also took up two premium spots in front with their delivery vehicles--Smart cars that can be stacked into one spot. Hence, I'm taking a star. Didn't try the juices or smoothies ($6), but asked everyone else and they said it was delicious. Very excited to have this healthy addition in the neighborhood. Edit: Just drove by (day after this review) and they have stacked the Smart cars. Thank you!

I love that there is a location in the Green Hills YMCA & have been a frequent visitor for 6 months or so. The guy that usually works there is super nice, and the juice is good. The 3 stars are due to the other employee who has waited on me the last few times. She is just not polite at all, and the quality of the juice is not as good. I realize she may be new, but honestly there's no excuse to be rude. I really hope this can be fixed, or I'll be walking to whole foods instead.

  • David H.

I have been to this location a couple of times. If you don't want to park in the front, there are street options within an easy walking distance as well as a small lot in the back. Drinks are good and worth the trip, in my opinion. Yes, they're more than buying a Tropicana at the local 7-11 or a bag of carrots from Kroger. This is because quality and convenience cost money. I'm not sure the people complaining about price know how many fruits/veggies go into a glass or juice or the work it takes to wash, juice, and clean up afterward. Not saying these guys are doing charity work, but the money they're asking for what you get isn't ridiculous either.

  • Jennie V.

I had really high expectations, but unfortunately the experience fell short. The place was dark and I could see veggie particles on the TVs, counters, everywhere! The juicers are up front and extremely loud... Not to mention messy. Finally, the product wasn't tasty. Kind of tasted grainy. I'll stick to the cold pressed juices at Juice Nashville.

I seriously love this place! The juice is delicious and all the recipes are well balanced - not too green, not too sweet. I've read a lot of people complaining about the "slow" service, but if you're like me and have a juicer at home, you'll know how long it takes to make a juice! They make them pretty quick considering; I had my juice within a few minutes. Everyone is really cool and willing to answer questions, and you're able to customize your drink for no extra cost, which is awesome. I like the Wake Up Call with ginger added in. Highly recommend this place, especially to new juicers who are looking for a little extra info to start out with!!

this place was a lucky find -- thanks to yelp (where I get most of my lucky finds). i was in nashville on a trip and felt like I was getting a cold. quick, some ginger and lemon to the rescue! the selection was a little limited, which is why i'm giving it four stars, but it was still a blessing in disguise for an LA native like me who is used to juice bars on every street! go nashville juicers!

They offer cold press juices of the best sellers now, as well as a decent sized grab-n- go area- perfect for lunch time(including full wraps!)

I was so impressed with the selection available. Wraps, snacks, juices, smoothies and plenty of options for protein. You can come get an actual meal here not just some fiber and nutrients. I really appreciated all of their offerings and went with a "Power Smoothie" - a smoothie with protein powder. They clearly listed all of the ingredients, amount of protein and benefits of each smoothie. I also purchased a Turmeric Tonic - it was strong and good. I'm excited for their new location to open in East!

I've been debating on a 3-day juice cleanse for a few months. I even quizzed a Director where I work since she does one about every 3-6 months. I did some research and when The Urban Juicer offered a LivingSocial deal, I finally committed. On Sunday, 3/28/15 I picked up my 3-day cleanse. I will admit, I felt like crap on days 1-2. By the end of day two, I was feeling edgy, cranky and was having trouble completing a sentence - not good for a manager of financial analysis. My head was pounding from the detox from artificial sweeteners and caffeine. By day three, I was ready to conquer the world! I think I could have gone two more days and not missed food. Admittedly, I hated the beets but I know "it does a body good". Sign me up! I think I will make this a quarterly detox. Today I stopped in to pick up a ginger shot with a "Mood Lifter" chaser.

My juicer broke and weeks later, we were in the process of moving, and traveling for work so produce was a hard thing to keep around anyhow, so out of desperation and knowing it would be far more expensive that juicing on my own, I stopped in to get my juice and smoothie fill. Great staff, clean and hip facility, great veggie juice combinations as well as green and fruit smoothies. For the app lovers, they have one that makes checkout easy and keeps track of your purchases that in return gives you money credit for your reward. Thumbs up

This place is the bomb! All kinds of options for smoothies & juices and I love their superfood selection! Everything is fresh & made to order the staff is super friendly. Would definitely go again when in Nashville once again!

Make sure you check the date on anything you are taking out of the fridge. I have accidentally purchased juices or cashew milk that is on it's use by date. The freshness of the food always varies. Bought a salad here & once I opened it looked like it had been sitting in the fridge at least two days. Limp, shriveled lettuce, did not taste good at all and could not finish it. Sometimes the staff like to remind you to tip on the iPad screen when you are paying - all good, I'll leave a tip if I want to thanks. I have been here so many times and I really want to like it, there are just so many more options in Nashville now that have fresher food and better tasting smoothies.

The Urban Juicer is one of my favorite juice spots in Nashville. The location is great, right off of 8th Ave across from Smiling Elephant. Parking is limited, but not usually an issue since most people take their juice to go. The service is always friendly and very helpful. They are open daily and later in the day than most juice places. Also, the free wifi makes it a great place for studying, if you don't mind the ambient sounds of the blender and/or juicer.

As someone who juices two meals a day and recently moved to nearby Music Row, I'm thrilled to discover this spot. I adore Juice Bar in Brentwood but it's a bit too far out for me to drive regularly, and I haven't been a huge fan of the cold-pressed juices I've tried at Juice Nashville. Enter: The Urban Juicer. I love all the varieties of juices they offer (the pineapple, apple, mint flavor is my favorite to date), and how the employees are willing to tweak a recipe to suit your tastes. At $6 a juice, it's a bit pricey I suppose, but I don't get what everyone is so up in arms about--fresh produce isn't cheap, and the shop has to cover its margins. I'm fine paying that to support a local business and get great quality greens and fruits on the regular.

I can't help but hide my enthusiasm that new spots are opening up around the city (and 'burbs too!) where you can purchase fresh juices and healthy foods too. The Urban Juicer is located on 8th Avenue where the old Fiddlecakes used to be located. They did a nice job with the exterior design but the interior is a bit cramped albeit a nice aesthetic. While I hand it to them for creating a menu of interesting juice blends with catch monikers like "The Liver Lover" or "The Wake Up Call", I was a bit disappointed with the end result. It was just "okay" in flavor but when I compare it to the juices that I have picked up at Juice Nashville, Turnip Truck, or Whole Foods... something just seems amiss. I haven't tried any of the smoothies yet but am curious to try one. I did however order half of a veggie wrap and although it was tasty, the price was definitely on the expensive side. I had a bit of sticker shock because the wrap was just so puny in size. I sincerely doubt that I will order it again. I will definitely give The Urban Juicer another try as I love what they are contributing to our community and I believe that with a little tweaking, that they will rise to the top.

I absolutely love this place! Great alternative to fast food or Subway when trying to eat healthy. The smoothies are wonderful, I'm addicted to the Super Greens (add acai for a little sweetness) and the Liquid Lunch. The juices are great too, the Cold Buster lives up to its name and tastes amazing. The curry chicken wrap is great as well. I love that all the ingredients are super fresh and each smoothie or juice is hand made right in front of you. Only complaint is I wish they had a drive-thru!

I've driven by this spot several times but had to stop in when several folks in my party were in need of a post-Saturday night healthy pick me up. We each got one of the green smoothie or juice variations- they were all pretty tasty, but also pretty expensive. I picked up the quinoa and chicken salad, and that was again tasty, but expensive for the size. It's worth a see or if you're traveling and away from your blender or juicer and feel the need to get your health fix.

Urban juicer is one of the best juice spots in Nashville. They have a lot of options, smoothies and healthy bites as well. I like that you can see how much produce they are using in your juice right in front of you. Staff is nice and quick!

Great idea, needs a little work on the execution. As the two stars say, I have experienced better. Crazy thing is that it was at the other Urban Juicers! Just FYI these are inside of the local YMCA's. These are what I used as my litmus test for the review. First a positive of these places are that it's just a few blocks away from apartment. SCORE!!! Second is that it does offer some very healthy options. Which lately has become a bit of an obsession. Now for the negatives. First but not foremost is the parking situation. I know this is a constant issue on this stretch Franklin Pike. Can I make a recommendation though? Please park atleast one of the two company Smart Cars on the 8th Street side! It is a bit dangerous to try and back out of here. I drive a 4dr Pickup and I could barely fit through the parking in the back and not about to try and back my beast onto 8th street. Next would be my most frustrating issue with this location. It is a dollar more for beverages here ($6 for the small) when at the Y I can get it for $5. Really? Normally you have to pay more for the convenience factor. Also, would love to see local produce vendors or at-least organic ingredients being used. Finally can I get more nutrition content than just a calorie count? (The new obsession strikes again!) All in all I really do like this place and would rather support a local business than Whole Foods or Smoothie King. The owners seem to really care. I can totally see this place making 4 stars, eventually... The lack of local produce, inconsistency of pricing, and no loyalty options are keeping my rating low right now.

Great atmosphere! Feels trendy and upbeat. The employees are very kind and will answer your questions about various food items. Definitely want to go again! I got a veggie smoothie with kale, spinach, banana, and coconut water in it. Loved the added banana, it helped to balance out the strong and bitter taste that kale produces. It is very expensive, and from another reviewer, it isn't all organic, but comes from a farm factory. I am curious about this and want to look into it more.

I just moved around the corner from the Urban Juicer and decided to give it a try first thing this morning. It's a small store but there was plenty parking. I pulled right up to the front patio. It's cute inside; clean, modern, and bright. The staff was friendly and super fast. I got the Well Being based on yelp reviews and was not disappointed. It's dark green, a little tart, and delicious. They are not playing around with the ginger! It definitely has a kick. The price is a little high, around $6.50 after tax for the small, but I saw her shoving handfuls of super fresh veggies and fruits in there so it seems fair for the product. I will definitely be back to try some other juices and the yummy-looking smoothies.

  • Sonia S.

The smoothies I tried here were awesome. The super greens didn't sound like much (banana, kale, spinach, and coconut water), but it was incredibly tasty and thick. I also got it with chia seeds once and it filled me up for hours. This was a very good choice during my sugar-free, wheat-free, soy-free, corn-free (allergy-free?) diet. The liquid lunch was also very good and more like a dessert. There was way too much peanut butter in it, but I've found that the drinks here are a little inconsistent depending on who makes them, but I've never had a bad smoothie here. I'm surprised there wasn't a healthier almond butter option to replace that peanut butter. The coconut and almond milks are unsweetened. There's a table or two out in front. It's a nice shady spot to relax and mindfully enjoy your smoothie.

  • Chris S.

Urban Juicer is spot on with their juices and smoothies. I only wish they had more food because what they do have is on point. Prices are high but that is normal for good Juices. I recommend it to everyone looking for that liquid lunch.

Urban juicer is just 30 yards from my house. They are a local business with beautiful branding, which I appreciate as an advertising guy, which makes them seem a bit bigger than they are. Over the months they have grown and matured, adding more and more organic options, cold pressed juices, and THANK GOD fresh wheatgrass, which I have every single day. That's what I like about Nashville... We support local, and it's fun to watch a business change with the needs of their customers. I love this place and happy to know their flagship store started right in my neighborhood.

The only reason Urban Juicer gets 2 starts is because I absolutely SWEAR by the Cold Buster. If you feel a cold coming on don't wait, the juice will kick your cold out! Ok so as far as everything else....meh. I've been to this place many times (and kept holding out hope for improvement)...alas, here is my review on what I consider a mediocre juice bar. First, as someone pointed out - their equipment consists of $100 Breville juicers that you can buy yourself at Bed Bath & Beyond or Amazon. If you buy about 12 juices at $7 each from Urban Juicer, you could've just bought the same equipment that they're using. The staff is also less than friendly and I hate that when you complete your credit card transaction, it asks for tip. Call me old fashioned, but I am rubbed the wrong way when prompted for a tip before a good/service is rendered. Seriously - you think I should tip you 20% for taking my order? You didn't even SMILE and welcome me when I walked in! Their juices and smoothies lack consistency. I've tried several different ones (multiple times) and they taste different every single time. For a $7 juice, I expect to not have any (or at least, very little) of the foam that accumulates when you juice. Instead Urban Juicer will hand you a juice where the top quarter of it is foam. Overall, I'm completely unimpressed with Urban Juicer - the Cold Buster will keep me coming back though.

My wife and I visited a few months ago and we thought the place was really neat. The juice we got didn't taste good but its because we're new to juicing not that the juice was bad or it could have been because they juiced from room temperature veggies. The flavors just didn't mix well for us. Our 1 year old loved the juice though. So not all a loss. The service was good and I think if we pick another juice combo and the veggies were cold it will be to our liking much more. One thing I do want to say is that Organic produce is available, but it costs significantly more (especially fruits) and those who want to bash for not using all organic produce should see how many pounds of produce it takes to make a 16 oz cup. So I'd have to agree the prices are a little high for non organic but I would expect to pay significantly more for 100 % organic juice. I know this because I have purchased some organic stuff at Whole Paycheck and it didn't go very far in my home juicer. Anyway, I'll try them again when in the area and wanting a juice. Ps I give them like 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up to 4. I'll check in on them again sometime.

I've been a regular customer now for several months; honestly at least once a week I find myself craving the freshness of UJ. The staff has really stepped it up, and it's easy to see that they are comfortable with their products. Recently a few employees have made some great recommendations and are able to keep a fast pace (especially if you go during lunch). Lastly, UJ is great about rewarding frequent "Yelpers", and I've enjoyed the free super food add ons! Love this place!!

I LOVE fresh juice and smoothies. I was originally avoided going to this place per all the reviews about how pricey it was. I am sad this deterred me for so long! Here's the thing--juice and smoothies made with fresh produce are going to be pricey anywhere in Nashville. Period. Actually, they are pricey in most places around U.S. Unless you live in a place where the fruit and veggies that go into the juices can be found growing down the street (CA, FL, other countries), fresh squeezed juice is never going to be that cheap. Is this place pricey? Yes. But not anymore pricey than other independent juice/smoothie places around town. Now that that is out of the way... I love the juice and smoothies I have tried here thus far. I have had slightly better elsewhere in my life thus part of the 4 of 5 instead of 5. I have only tried the food once and that was the Napoli panini. It was simple and tasty--but I wouldn't come here just for the food. And, although I haven't had the other food items....they do appear to be a bit overpriced. But, like I said, I haven't had them yet. (I just doubt a small, pre-made refigerated wrap is going to blow my mind. ) The juice and smoothies should be the pull for you to come in.

THE GOOD - you can get fresh juice in 5 to 10 minutes. THE BAD dangerous parking in front--they should not be permitted to allow customers to park right next to the very busy 8th ave. when the adjacent business has cars parked in front, visibility is 20 ft, and extremely dangerous. Price: $8 (plus $1.20, $1.60, or $2 suggested tip) for a large juice? i just moved from super spendy san fran, and this seems outrageous. urban juice sells a number of juicing books, all of which stress the importance of using organic / pesticide free ingredients, making their misleading marketing (see below) more hypocritical. almost none of their products are organic. when i asked whether any of the ingredients were organic, i was told that they "source organic when possible. but, right now, the only organic ingredient "might be" the bananas." REALLY? you cannot get organic carrots, which are about a 15% premium over non-organic? organic kale is not available (10-20% premium)? no organic apples in nashville? I understand that organic costs more, and sometimes significantly more (ginger), but the excuse of sourcing organic "when possible" is bullshit. yes, it costs more, but you are charging $9 (with tax) for a cup of juice. THE UGLY "all natural, whole fruits and vegetables" "all natural" means nothing in the sense of food labeling. i challenge you to show me any fruit or vegetable that is not "all natural". urban juice uses this misleading label to suggest that its juices and smoothies are somehow superior. google the phrase "misleading all natural foods" and see what you come up with. here is an excerpt form the fda website regarding "natural" foods. "From a food science perspective, it is difficult to define a food product that is 'natural' because the food has probably been processed and is no longer the product of the earth. That said, FDA has not developed a definition for use of the term natural or its derivatives. However, the agency has not objected to the use of the term if the food does not contain added color, artificial flavors, or synthetic substances." again, show me a fruit or vegetable that does not meet this extremely lax and potentially misleading definition of "natural."

I would have given this place 4 stars but because of all the people hating - I gave it 5 stars. First - this space is GORGEOUS. It's sleek. Clean. Modern. I was overly impressed when I walked in. From the digital menus, to the overall design, displays, colors - it is just the way this place should look! The guy working explained everything to me. He also asked about my weekend, which was nice. I have juiced before. But never enjoyed it. Too blah. He explained that their juices are sweeter, all the add ons. etc. But the also had a smoothie and slushy menus as well as some food items, like quinoa salad! Everything is all natural and looked so fresh. I had a chocolate raspberry smoothie. It was different. But very good! I will be back ...and maybe even try the juice! I can see why people would complain about parking. But nearby businesses allow you to park there. PS - they have a great patio and even a doggie water dish ;)

Warning: Those of you wishing to see Keith Urban behind the counter have been woefully misinformed. Still, the Urban Juicer serves up a nice mix of juices, smoothies, and healthy snacks. The prices are reasonable and of course everything is made fresh right after you order it. They have several optional superfoods (chia seeds, wheatgrass, etc.) which you can add to any drink. The green juices are chock full of things to make your body smile, and are tasty to boot. The smoothies are mostly of the fruity variety, but they have a couple of green ones that are also delicious. The snacks feel a little overpriced for what you get, but they're fresh and healthy. It can get pretty tight inside (maybe a dozen seats), but there's additional seating outside it it's a nice day (or any day, if you're a masochist). Note that The Urban Juicer occupies the old Fiddle Cakes building. There's more parking out back, and during rush hour it's more convenient to get out of there as opposed to the few spots out front.

Quick and fresh smoothies and juices. A good place for a to go order, not so much a sit and chill place. I was very impressed with the parking; they have a back lot too! Staff was helpful and friendly. I'm definitely coming back!

I'm a bit surprised that urban juicer doesn't have better reviews. The juice is great! I hate green juice but I am trying to incorporate it once a day for the veggies ... However, though the juice may be good, employees are not all created equal. Some are very sweet and helpful and others think they are god's gift to the juicing world so my experience varies day to day as far as service goes.

First visit to the Urban Juicer. Easy parking. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Upscale atmosphere. Detailed signage. Ordered a 16oz customized Mood Lifter with a splash of ice. Watched the process. Short wait. Counted 10 customers when served. Cool, tasty and refreshing result. Noticed open spaces in parking area upon departure. Exited through back alley to catch the light at Bradford Ave. Pleasant Urban Juicer experience. Will return.

Stumbled upon this place today while I was driving down 8th Ave. Apparently it is their first day open. When I got there it was nearly impossible to find a spot to park. It was 3:00, way after their rush, so I can only imagine how hard it was to park earlier in the afternoon. They also annoyingly had two company smart cars taking up two of the very limited parking spaces in front of the building. When I got inside it was broiling hot in there, hotter than it was outside. I decided to try the Liver Lover. The juice is good but I had some problems with it. First of all they handed me my juice and the first sip I took was warm. Personally, I like my juice cold and refreshing. I had to ask for some ice and the girl working behind the counter didn't seem to happy about getting it for me. Secondly, I asked where they got all their fruits and vegetables and they said from Restaurant Depot. This was disappointing for sure seeing that I like to eat organic and also do not support big box factory farms. The biggest problem I have with this place is that I paid almost $7 for the cup of juice that I could have made at home with better ingredients. Defiantly won't waste my time here again.

The Urban Juicer was EXACTLY what I was looking for in my quest for a healthy liquid breakfast. I ordered the 'substitute lunch' smoothie with banana, peanut butter, aloe and almond milk. The small size was around six dollars which I didn't think was too bad considering I was full well past lunchtime. The other thing that's really cool about this place is that they have portioned out wraps, bars to grab on the quick, smoothies, fruit slushies, and obviously juice. The Urban Juicer is a great place to stop if you don't have time to make a meal but want to keep it healthy. The virtual menu on the screens is pretty cool too. The only thing that stopped me from giving The Urban Juicer 5 stars was the parking. You can park in front but then you have to reverse in to oncoming 8th Ave South traffic, and when you're as focused on your delicious smoothie as I was, this can be a problem.

Mmm the reviews are pretty bad..., sexy building from the outside, nothing wrong with the inside. Staff and Service kinda mute robots, me I like my students perky. $6 for a small juice, don't know if this is good or bad, I had carrot juice -carrots a carrot right!, my friends Kale thing tasted just like she gets in in Brooklyn. Food seemed to be wraps - boring - but hey on the whole it was a nice pitstop but a charisma bypass. Since 8th will be the new 12th in the near future they are probably in a good spot.

So thankful that The Urban Juicer has come to Nashville! I went in today which is their second day of being open, and as a restaurant manager myself, I couldn't believe how much they had it "together"! Clearly the owners pay attention to detail and have worked very had to train their staff well. They were able to answer any questions I had and were incredibly friendly! Can't wait to see how this will affect the Nashville area and help to bring knowledge about juicing and super foods! Yay!

I was really excited about this place opening and was really hoping to love it. Unfortunately that was not my experience when I went in today. First of all, the decor and location are both great. Super modern, lots of good superfood products to buy, cool computer menus, and decent parking however it seems that the good things stop there. Since it was my first time, I had a few questions. "What's in the Mediterranean Wrap?" and "What Kind of add ons do you guys have for your smoothies?" Were among them... pretty straightforward. Unfortunately the employees behind the counter didn't know the answer to either question and had to go grab an ingredients sheet from the back to tell me what was in it. Both times they directed me toward the confusing and ever changing menus to view ingredients... which were not there. The menus were confusing and kept changing screens so you couldn't really have a good look at the full menu. I ended up getting the veggie wrap and Super Greens smoothie. The wrap was TINY and had very little substance to it. It was basically just a tortilla and lettuce with trace amounts of other veggies. The smoothie was equally as disappointing. I wouldn't say it was bad, it just wasn't any good. It was super liquid-y and not great tasting. (and I LOVE green smoothies). Also, NONE of their produce is organic OR local which is a big negative. I honestly can't believe they don't even have 1 organic option on the menu. It reminded me of a Starbucks for juices. If you want a GREAT juice bar, stop by Juice Bar in Brentwood for amazing smoothies and juices, awesome service and an incredibly warm environment.

Every single juice I have tried I have loved. Well Being, Cold Buster, Mood Lifter, Liver Lover, Miracle Worker. They will always switch out ingredients for you too. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! You feel like a million bucks after you drink one.

Stopped in Saturday for a smoothie - My first time in any of the Urban Juicers. I ordered one of their chocolate raspberry smoothies. (I did like that the beverages were healthier than the typical smoothies.) I thought the drink was OK, so was the service and the establishment itself, but their prices make it unlikely that it will be a real frequent stop for me.

The worst juice drinks my husband and I have ever had. Thin, weak on substance and flavor, and too expensive, and they were room temperature, not the cool drinks we were looking for on a hot afternoon. Won't be back, too bad, had hoped for something nice in our neighborhood.

This place has one major thing going for it: the juice I had was delicious and made me feel good. But that's pretty much it. I hate the service: I don't know where the dedicated employees were, because I had snobby college students who clearly thought they were the best people on earth because they mixed fruit squeezings. I was jaw-dropped by the price: $6 for a small juice? Really? I can buy enough fruit to make a quart of juice for the same price. I realize you pay for the service, but this is so outrageous. Finally, the place is ugly, and it's pretty clear that it's ugly by design. You want a chair to sit in? Nope! Sit in these ugly benches with no backs. If had an income in which I had two commas on my W-2, then I'd be a little more tolerant, but since I have to worry about feeding my kids and work hard, this is not a good value. I'll go back to my own juicer, I guess.

After working at a restaurant with $9 juices and smoothies, paying $6 for fresh juice seemed like a steal - until I realized it was because nothing on the menu is organic, sourced locally or cold-pressed. I love the aesthetic of the place and most of my experiences there have been positive, but until they go organic I'll stick to juicing at home. The prices are cheap, but so is the quality. I'd rather pay more for better/local produce and cold-pressed juice.

After reading other reviews, I felt I must comment. First of all, this is the third Urban Juicer; the other two are in the Bellevue and Green Hills YMCA. This is the first freestanding store and as with any new business there are bound to be some glitches in the first week, please don't be so quick to spot the faults. The juices, smoothies, frushies, wraps and sandwiches are original and much different than any other on the market; they are freshly made to order so be patient and wait a few extra minutes because it is well worth it. All are 100% natural and preservative-free. The owner and staff have worked very hard to make this business a success and this store is well on its way to becoming a new favourite for Nashvilians who are concerned about maintaining good health. Please give them a try and experience something new and good for you!

Kristen, Jessie and a rotating band of other enthusiastic juiceheads are now blending veggies and fruits into smoothies and pureed juice. 8 South is the first storefront location of Urban Juice with more to come. The owners have big plans for others, but this one is good enough for me. I'm happy with the location near Belmont University and Music Row not far from the Wedgewood exit of I-65. My first juice at Urban Juicer was a pulpy grapefruit apple combo and it won't be my last. For me Getting Juiced has a whole new meaning.

I am super duper into being healthy. I love the health foods and the healthy smoothies, but they are OVERLYPRICED. Otherwise the smoothies tasted great and were very thick and filling. They should have protein more protein in them too. The wraps are super small. The staff were friendly and the place was hip.

I am a huge fan of juices. When I'm on the go, they are a great substitute for a meal with all the nutrients and deliciousness and none of the guilt. I am a big fan of Urban Juicer as well. I tried their 3-day juice cleanse (thanks livingsocial!) and absolutely loved every juice. At first I was admittedly nervous about some of the flavors (beets? Ummm...) but every single juice was delicious. The juices are packed with yummy veggies mostly but have fruit to give it a sweet flavor that never leaves you remembering you're drinking celery, or aforementioned beets. The staff here was super friendly and very helpful with any questions I had. Their shop doesn't just sell juices either, they have a variety of food items as well that are both healthy and delicious. I absolutely love this place and the better eating options it offers. I highly recommend, if you are new to juicing, to give these guys a try. Very good, very helpful, completely impressed!

My fiancée and I are weekend regulars here. We stick with the more substantial smoothie type things and come here after our workouts near by. They're the perfect spot when it's hot out; try the pumpkin concoction they have in the fall of your a pumpkin anything fan. I will say they they're a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. You get a $9 "smoothie" with a little personalized service. Sometimes the staff is experimenting with shots of juice and will share. Hope you catch them on those days!

I love the Chicken Quinoa Salad at the Urban Juicer. It has amazing flavor and its healthy. Their juices and smoothies are good but not organic or cold pressed and a little pricey not to be either one of those but they do taste better than some of their competitors like Juice Nashville. They do offer a limited selection fresh Super Foods which keep me coming back. You can receive a Free Super Food add in to a smoothie with a Yelp Check in.

this place was a lucky find -- thanks to yelp (where I get most of my lucky finds). i was in nashville on a trip and felt like I was getting a cold. quick, some ginger and lemon to the rescue! the selection was a little limited, which is why i'm giving it four stars, but it was still a blessing in disguise for an LA native like me who is used to juice bars on every street! go nashville juicers!

Thumbs up

  • Corie K.

Yuck.

Friendly staff, and lots of selections and you can sub for other ingredients if you like. They have sandwich wraps pre made and lots of little snacks besides the juice and smoothies.

Yay!

I am super duper into being healthy. I love the health foods and the healthy smoothies, but they are OVERLYPRICED. Otherwise the smoothies tasted great and were very thick and filling. They should have protein more protein in them too. The wraps are super small. The staff were friendly and the place was hip.

  • Alissa G.

Lol

this place was a lucky find -- thanks to yelp (where I get most of my lucky finds). i was in nashville on a trip and felt like I was getting a cold. quick, some ginger and lemon to the rescue! the selection was a little limited, which is why i'm giving it four stars, but it was still a blessing in disguise for an LA native like me who is used to juice bars on every street! go nashville juicers!

Thumbs up

  • Corie K.

Yuck. Bye Felicia

Urban juicer is one of the best juice spots in Nashville. They have a lot of options, smoothies and healthy bites as well. I like that you can see how much produce they are using in your juice right in front of you. Staff is nice and quick!

Yay!

The worst juice drinks my husband and I have ever had. Thin, weak on substance and flavor, and too expensive, and they were room temperature, not the cool drinks we were looking for on a hot afternoon. Won't be back, too bad, had hoped for something nice in our neighborhood.

The ingredients are definitely fresh, but the drink I order tastes different every time I get it. I think with more consistency, they would be better. Since this is a newer establishment, I will try back in a month.

I love their juice- and having a juice option so close to work. I got the liver lover and loved it! Perfect pick me up for the day. The service was also great- everyone smiled and said hello!
