Haven't been to Shoneys in years. The host had an overwhelmingly loud way if clling out your name to the small lobby and handful of people. Once seated the waitress got us drinks and we never seen her again ( well least not at our table for service ) . Sat waiting for refill on my coffee and to order pancakes for 15 minutes. ( pancakes have to be ordered if your getting the buffet ). Speaking of Buffett what can I say all the meats were overly saturated with fat. Would not go back.

This is standard fare but decent buffet for price. The food options included ribs, chicken, meatloaf, plus plenty veggies and dessert items. The wait staff was good, plenty of trips for refills and plate pickups. The quality of good was better than most of shoney's. This is another place when the places are better the further south you go.

I was primed and ready for the breakfast bar, BUT at 7:30 am they were out of bacon!! Seriously? No bacon? Was told there would be some ham coming out, but it never showed. Had to settle for dried out chicken nuggets and sausage links. Eggs were good though.

Although the food was pretty good, I thought the wait staff was horrible. Our drink order was all wrong and the meal that my husband and son ordered came with a salad and fruit, but the waitress never asked them about it. They had to recheck the menu to make sure that they had read it correctly and then had to search down our waitress to ask about it

I took my group to Shoney's for breakfast based on the recommendations of several people. We were all disappointed. When we walked in we were greeted by the overwhelming odor of grease. The host was pleasant though and we were quickly seated and didn't wait lobby for our server. Two people ordered off of the menu and two got the breakfast buffet. The menus orders were served with the wrong sides but the server apologized and quickly brought out what was ordered. No one was impressed with the food. The omelette was made with very little cheese. The breakfast potatoes were just fried cubed potatoes, basically square French fries. Each person is given one packet of jelly for their two pieces of toast. The orange juice was so diluted that it had no flavor. The breakfast sandwich on Texas toast was enjoyed but that was really it.

Ok went here for lunch while in Nashville. It was walking distance to the Oprey Land Hotel so we took it. There was 4 of us and it was December. We got there and took our coats off. We were all roasting. Literally we kept pulling off layers. the older people even looked hot. The manager came out finally and turn on one ceiling fan... Our waiter looked like a gangster. He had tattoos all up down his arms and neck. He had a huge one on his neck that said 4:20, lovely...... We took awhile to order because the menu was very unappealing. I got the buffet while the others ordered off the menu. The other girl I was with order the grilled cheese. We waited and waited and waited. WE saw our food sitting at the window and no one brining it to us. We were going to go up and get it ourselves. finally, 10 mins after sitting there, someone brought out food. the grilled cheese, well lets says it was not hot. The cheese wasnt even melted on it, the bread slices wouldnt stick together cause the cheese was cold. So we told the waiter and he went over to the grill cook and told him " can you make this stick togther?" so he came back with a sandwich a few mins later, I have no idea if it was the original and he just threw it in the microwave or if he made a new one, but it was melted. Service was very slow, food was sub par. This was the first time we didnt leave a tip.

Should have looked on Yelp first! My bad! Got menu and was seated quickly! Server didn't know if he was supposed to help us! Had a breakfast special for $5. I'm in! Pancakes dry and cold. Bacon, thinnest, cheapest you can buy, COLD! Scrambled eggs COLD! Funny thing is, my toast was nice and warm, go figure! Place is just nasty, windows dirty, floor dirty, table sticky! How is a place like this in business? Utterly disgusting! 1 star is way too high of a rating for a shithole like that! Note to self, NEVER eat at Shoneys! Please don't eat here, you will regret it!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. We waited 35 minutes for breakfast and they didn't even start the ticket.the manager on duty to help fill the order before ours filled plates from the buffet. None of the tables were being bused and cleaned. After waiting another 10 minutes for the first time in my life I walked out.

This has to be the worst Shoney's in Nashville! We keep giving them a chance but no more. The food is bland and cold... It just feels dirty in there.

We really were hoping for some yummy quick breakfest before we got on the road to head home and it turned into a stressful experience. We arrived and were seated promptly. We were given menus and told that a server would be with us shortly. Apparently shortly meant 25 minutes later. By the time she showed up unhappily taking our table we had helped ouselves to the buffet. Our menus still on our table and hadn't even ordered drinks. My thirty minutes since being seated we finally got our drinks. I asked to speak to the manager so he could clear up what had happened. He never showed. I actually had to chase him down and he didn't stop bussing the table to talk to me. He did take care of our entire $25 ticket earning them 2 stars. Service aside, the breakfast buffett was good. Everything was fresh and tasty but unless they start just going full on self service I'd go down the road a tad to Bob Evans.

We needed a big breakfast before a day of exploring, and we know that Shoney's is a Southern mainstay, so we stopped in at the one near our hotel. Sure, not spectacular, but "good enough" food with a little bit of charm sprinkled in at the buffet.

We've been to other Shoney's before and knew what to expect. However, I think this one needed some work. The air conditioning must have been broken as it was hot as hell in the restaurant. The buffet (which my family and I had) was only OK. They did not refill empty slots fast enough, and food seemed dry and not too flavorful. The salad dressings were not marked correctly, and the floor all around the buffet was slippery from something unknown. Our staff was mostly attentive, but not the most friendly.

It's been 10 years since I've been to a Shoney's, and I'll never eat at a Shoney's again. The people working there are nice and I honestly feel for them. The food was disappointing, though not inedible. The $11.99 buffet is a poor excuse for a buffet, we might have done better to just order something from the menu. I went with my wife and two kids on a Saturday evening and although they didn't appear to be that busy, it took 15 minutes to get a table and another 20 minutes to pay at the counter once we were done eating. I don't really enjoy eating at Waffle House, but I would have had a much better experience at the Waffle House across Briley I'm sure.
