Had some tea and a croissant sandwich. Both were meh. Sandwich was really dry and the tea was meh. They told me about their tea special for the day and I asked for it. Then, they told me it wasn't made. They gave me some hot water and a tea bag. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Really just a little hole in the wall coffee place. People are always very nice and fast service. The decaf coffee is by far the best in Nashville. Please works well for a business meeting also, the place has nice low key vibe.

I've been frequenting Sam & Zoe's (sometimes daily) for about a year now. I continue to return because their coffee and sandwiches are amazing, and I like the overall vibe. They even make their pumpkin syrup in house! Mmmm. The only drawback is the service kinda sucks sometimes because they are understaffed on occasion. Some days you may wait what feels like a century for your coffee. I've driven away huffing, puffing and swearing more than once. I keep going back, though, so it's safe to say it's worth the occasional annoyances... Update: They have gotten better about the wait time! I have no reason for huffing and puffing anymore. : )

More like 3.5 stars. I'm currently sitting at Sam and Zoe's doing this review. Sam and Zoe's is a cute little coffee and breakfast and lunch place. They have a decent selection for their specialty lattes. The service is polite but not that welcoming, which is ok with me. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered a lox and cream cheese on a plain bagel. It also had onions, tomatoes, and capers on it. It was super really yummy. I also ordered a dirty chai, because I had never had one before. It wasn't too bad. My order came up to about ~$11. I blame it on the lox and capers. I was reading through some of the reviews, and it's also a drive-through!? Whoa!! I'mma have to try that out sometime. I came after the lunch hour, and I got the last parking spot! There isn't a lot of parking spots here. It's a spiffy place to hang out with some friends or do some work.

This place is so great. I usually only get coffee, but my husband and I ate breakfast there the other day. We got 2 sandwiches, a smoothie, and the Honey Bee coffee. So good! It was $23 for all of that, which really isn't bad for Nashville. I love the atmosphere...not hipster and judgemental, but not commercial and Green Hills-y. It's very easy to figure out and there's plenty of seating. Tip: park in the back to save yourself a headache.

My friend recommended this place and I was glad. I wouldn't have found it otherwise. I had breakfast and chai tea this morning.... I give it five stars because it was good and had what I needed: gluten free bread for my breakfast sandwich and almond milk for the chai. You can't find that many places! It really was the best dairy free chai I have had yet.

I've lived in Nashville for about 9 months, and about 1 mile from Sam & Zoe's. I've always heard how great it is, but then why have I never been? Well, the other day I was in the mood to escape from the busy crowds/familiar faces at the other local coffee shops, and try a new one. This place is great, parking was easy. I went around 11, and it was slower, which was exactly what I was looking for. Coffee was better then average, and so was Mac's breakfast bagel. I am defiantly going to be back, and recommend you try this place.

A little out of the way but worth it. Great coffee!!! Staff was very polite and helpful. Great selection of food (gluten free, healthy fare). Seems to be mostly homemade as they run out. My choice over gross Starbucks any day!!!

Three words: Peanut Butter Mocha! Only place in-town I've found that makes them. Amazing!

I like Sam and Zoes as much as I like other little coffee shops in town (ie, Bongo, Frothy, Edgehill, etc.) They would get a 3 star 'yup, you are a good 'lil shop for Nashville' except for two things that make it a little better in my heart. 1. its close to my house (heehee, hey, its my review) 2. the HONEY BEE!!!! Thank you, Sam and Zoes, for introducing me to the wonderfully weird sounding idea of honey in my coffee. mmmmmm, honey bee latte. I love you. I am generally a plain old coffee with a bit of half n half kinda girl, but once in a while a froo froo latte appeals to me and this one is yum yum yum... I've never had a problem with food or service. On par. General coffee house fare - sammies, rolls, bagels, teas. Oh! They do offer 'dirty chai' as a menu item, so kudos for that. I don't see it as a recommendation often enough, although any coffee shop can whip one up.

Very polite staff always. Very good coffee. Always fresh and delicious. Fast service and very reasonably priced. Much better than Starbucks.

Cute little coffee shop in Berry Hill. Their hummus sandwich is to die for. Coffee is not that great though.

Love it there! I work within walking distance and eat there a couple times a week. The staff, although quiet.. is super nice! They are also speedy and efficient. Their soups are fantastic= every single soup I have tried I absolutely love. The tomato avocado wrap is die for and both their chicken salad and tuna salad are unbelievable. Like I said, the staff is quiet which could come as rude but really.. who cares if the service is great?! Coffee is fantastic, green tea is great, and their frozen drinks are delicious.

This is my go-to coffee place in Nashville. I was so sad when I realized that there wasn't a Starbucks on my route to work (from Harding to Berry Hill), but this place is wayyy better anyway. Every latte I've had there so far has been great, from the spiced chai to pumpkin spice to dirty chai. They even have signature fall flavors, so it's a much bigger variety than Starbucks, and they can substitute regular milk for soy or almond milk. The staff is nice and fast - I rarely ever wait more than 5 minutes for my drink. I don't eat there very often just because I always stop in the morning for coffee, but the couple of sandwiches I've gotten there were good. Overall great place. The only downside is that they don't have free wi-fi available from 10:30 - 2, since that's their busiest time. It doesn't really affect me because I'm at work all day anyway, but I can see how some people would find it inconvenient.

3.5 stars. Sam and Zoe's is tucked away uber close to one of my favorite yoga studios, the Yoga Room, and I'd been meaning to try it for ages. One Sunday morning, I was running some errands and was ten minutes too early to go to my destination, so I finally got the chance to stop in. This coffee shop is super cute! I love the way that it's decorated, it's both pretty and cozy. My iced coffee was perfectly delicious and my man tried one of the smoothies-a combination of blueberry and coconut milk that we were hesitant about before tasting, but now are true believers. De-lish! I have a couple of gripes, mainly that the parking lot is really small as is the text on the menu, so I had an incredibly difficult time reading it from a distance (and my vision isn't bad, err, after it's corrected). I also disliked that none of the prices were listed on the menus. How's a girl supposed to know what to order that makes the most economic sense? They've got some teas I'd like to try though, and Yelpers seem to like their food-so I'll be back to give it a go.

The drive-thru is what makes them special. That and the fact that they're the only game in the neighborhood. The food is inconsistent and the service is so slow. It feels like the most recent owners have never been in the restaurant business. They need a manager to whip those scruffy kids for employees in to shape!

Funky coffeehouse with flava (aka character) and free wifi. They also have an assortment of sandwiches. Great lunch time stop. I wish I had discovered this place earlier. Friendly staff. A real hidden gem. Can't wait to check out its neighbor Baja Burrito. (probably a 4.6-4.75)

By far one of my top 3 workday lunch places in Nashville. I happened upon Sam and Zoe's through a friend, as its obscure location would never warrant my driving by and noticing it. I'm obsessed with their Chicken Burger--grilled chicken on a whole wheat bun with pesto, tomato and mozzarella cheese. In the winter their soups are ok. I expected fireworks when I ordered the pumpkin-black bean soup, but it was mainly just meh. The coffee, however, never disappoints. But if you are weak around desserts, try not to look in the basket next to the register. The Cereal Killer cookie bar is to die for, and I'm slightly ashamed to say that I've made special trips there solely for this cavity-inducing bar. Cornflakes, corn syrup, chocolate chips and peanuts, anyone? I have one major gripe with Sam and Zoe's, and I'm sure it's the same as many other patrons. Parking sucks. Thank god for the drive-thru, but if you drive a big car like I do, the idea of zig-zagging through the teeny lot just to get to the drive-thru can make you wish you'd just gone to Starbucks. Maybe.

Anna A.
This is not my favorite coffee shop but I give it props for offering good sandwiches and having a drive through. The parking lot is a pain to navigate at lunch time because of Baja Burrito so I would stick with breakfast and coffee or use the drive through for lunch. It is all straightforward cafe/coffee shop fare but obviously better than star bucks or a cheap diner. The sandwiches are good. The coffee is robust, fresh, and hot. The inside is inviting should you choose to stay and the porch is great when the weather is nice. I personally stick with the drive through because it's the only locally owned coffee shop I know of with a drive through.

I came across Sam and Zoe's one day when I was looking for parking at neighboring Baja Burrito. Easy to miss from the road, Sam and Zoe's is a little white house tucked off of Thompson Lane serving sandwiches, coffee and free wi-fi. They also have a drive through, but you order at the window and wait for them to make it, so if someone in front of you has a complex order, you may be there a while. It's right near where I work, so if I miss lunch for some reason I'll run over here after the crowds have died down and grab a quick bite.

This used to be coffee spot in the morning. I love the laid-back vibe at the place. The baristas are very friendly, and the owner was usually around as well. Every morning it definitely seemed like there was a regular crowd of people who came in. Great, fresh coffee, obviously. I would usually get the pumpkin chocolate chip muffin to go with it. Not the healthiest breakfast in the world, but I loved that muffin. They also had a great bagel sandwich with egg, swiss cheese, and tomato. A cozy, comfortable space inside that would be nice to meet someone for coffee or to relax with a newspaper. They do have sandwiches and such for lunch that I never managed to try. Another great, local coffee shop.

Sam and Zoe's is a great little cafe in Berry HIll. The menu items are each a couple dollars more than I'd prefer, but since they offer a lot of organic and local ingredients it's understandable. The general attitude of the place is fun. It's a very straightforward, no-nonsense but friendly place. I always order the TLT (tofu, lettuce, and tomato). I like to stack my kettle chips inside for a little crunch. The fruit tea is also a really tasty treat. This is a great local business that everyone in Nashville should check out at least once.

This was the best white mocha I encountered in five days of travel between Denver and Nashville. Friendly service, good prices. Beautiful tattooed baristas. I'll go back.

I always forget that Sam and Zoe's is there, but I usually stop by when I go to The Cat Shoppe or Curious Heart. I read recently that the owner of Star Bagel has bought it, but he pledges not to change the coffee and many other things about it, but I think he is going to bring some of the baked goods from Star Bagel into the menu here, including their pre-made sandwiches. I think this will only make Sam and Zoe's better. The old house setting echos many of the good coffee shops in Nashville, and it has a nice semi-outdoor porch. It's also nice and quiet in there, making it a good place to read or study.

Sandwiched between a gas station and a Baja Burrito, Sam and Zoe's can be hard to find the first time you go, but it's worth the effort. They usually have three different roasts of flavorful coffee to choose from, and a wide selection of sandwiches and soups, including vegetarian options. Sam and Zoe's is a good place to go for quiet conversation or to get some work done, especially when the weather is nice and you can take advantage of the wooden deck out front. I've had a few of their vegetarian sandwiches, and was pleased with how fresh they tasted. Don't forget to bring along some change if you want to get a coffee refill.

I could sum up Sam & Zoe's in one word: "average". Their atmosphere and coffee are both really good. They serve Bongo Java and Drew's Brews (the former bongo java roaster's new brand) which is a plus. The menu at Sam & Zoe's is great but unfortunately it is not always prepared with great care. If you go on a good day you will be pleased but show up here on the wrong day or while the wrong staff members are working and not so much. What bothers me most about this place is that I have seen staff members working wearing flip flops on one occasion and tank tops on another. Both of which are big no-no's when it comes to health codes. That's why this restaurant sometimes makes my skin crawl.

I really like this place. It's a bit away from all the major energy in Nashville, but still filled with cool people nad great food and drinks. They have free wi-fi, and limited outdoor seating. The coffees are great, though. They close pretty early, even in the summer, but you can still sit out on the porch finishing up your food and using the internet. You have to look the address or location up carefully if you're going for the first time, btu it's well worth the search, because this is a great place to add to your Nashville coffee shop circuit!

This place is ok if you're getting something to go or for a quick business meeting. The staff is friendly and the drinks I've had were made really well. They have a lot of local coffees and there is a decent selection of non-coffee drinks as well. The desserts are underwhelming. I had a carrot cake that tasted like it had been frozen (and had buttercream icing. Who does that?). All of the seats are wooden chairs except for a padded bench along the wall but the padding feels as if it wore out a long time ago so it's not terribly comfortable. Overall I may stop by if I'm in the Berry Hill area and need a quick refreshment but it's not well suited for extended time using my computer, although they do have free wifi courtesy of nashville.net .

Use to be a hidden staple of Nashville that adored the community and supported it. New owner. no longer has the heart of the community is once did. Still some old faces there and still have some good local coffees if your in the area you can still get that but, I wont be back.

Sam & Zoe's is a drive through cafe. Perfect for in between classes, a quick chicken salad sammach, a campfire latte (I hear they invented it here), and a quick laugh from their cool staff. In my experiences, although they are about a year old, it was not unusual to see baristas dancing with mops, and parodying Sister Christian lyrics. They also have a huge wooden porch for semi-outdoor coffee sips.

Well, what can I say? I'm a Sam & Zoe's-aholic. I absolutely love this place. The only negative thing I can think of is that parking is almost always an issue at lunch time. The environment is cozy and peaceful, the staff are always smiling, friendly and helpful. And for a coffee shop, they have an excellent menu with breakfast, lunch, and (early) dinner options. This is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Nashville. In my opinion, they make the best cup of hot chocolate, and hot chai (which I am addicted to, and crave every day). Their soy milk is superb, I'm not sure what brand they use, but I can't even tell a difference in the taste when I use it, unlike almost every other coffee shop I've been to. For breakfast: the vegetarian breakfast burger is absolutely delicious, and oatmeal is a close runner-up (you can pick 3 items to add to it). I also crave on a daily basis their TLT, not sure what their spices are that they cook the tofu in, but it's the best I've ever had. The veggie burger's good, along with the Tijuana wrap. Addictive soups: Butternut Squash, Tomato Bisque, Pumpkin Blackbean, Portobello mushroom chili. Oh, and did I mention desserts? oh goodnes...they have THE BEST chocolate cake I have ever had in my life. It's perfect. And a BIG slice. Their homemade chocolate chip cookies are the best (& cheap!) ....I actually like them ALMOST better than my own, and I'd never found a recipe that I liked better than the one I use. I have to get my sam & zoe's fix several times a week. :-)

This is my favorite local coffee shop. I'm not real big on non-chain coffee shops, because most I have been to their coffee tastes like utter crap and way more expensive. Sam and Zoes beats the chain coffee shops! Their drinks are creative and their regular coffee rocks! I use to work right around the corner from this place and my former boss was the one who got me hooked on Sam and Zoes. I use to stop in a lot for just coffee if I didn't feel like making it in the morning. Their lunches are exceptional. I love their sandwiches and soups are out of this world! I've tried their chili before and it was so wonderful along with their chicken tortilla soup! I just wish I could go here more than I am able to for lunch! I've never been let down with this place! The only down side about Sam and Zoes is the parking situation....if you go in the hustle and bustle of the lunch hour parking is at a premium and gets a bit hard when you only get x amount of minutes for lunch.

Discovered Sam & Zoe's last year on a road trip with my daughter. She liked it so much, she asked if we could stop there again on our way home. So we did. On a road trip with my son this summer and he asked if we could go there based on his sister's recommendation. So, we are back again. Great coffee. Love their Smoothies. Tasty breakfast or lunch options, and friendly, helpful staff. Bottom Line: If you like eclectic, bohemian style coffee shops with their own personality, and are within 50+ miles of Nashville, it's worth it to stop in.

Sam & Zoe's has usually had very good reviews so I gave it a couple of tries before writing mine but after 3 or so visits I'm honestly unimpressed. There are tons of coffee options whether you are looking for regular drip coffee, a pre-determined recipe of a latte type drink or a make-your-own combo by selecting your own syrups. I've made my own before and I've tried one of their recipes and its good but it doesn't stand out as great. I have only had food for breakfast and the ingredients seem fresh and made to order but again there is nothing that makes the food stand out as something I crave or go out of my way for. I've tried a bacon/egg/cheese on a bagel and it was just missing on flavor. Same goes for the breakfast burrito...which by the way don't ever order onions because although they seem sauteed, it was red onion, not sweet onion so it was too pungent and there was WAYYYY too many included...but anyways overall it was bland in flavor. Personally I am the type of person that likes to go to restaurants to eat something I can't make at home and I felt like I could've hopped back into their kitchen and found SOMETHING to add (spices/sauces/whatever) to give the food some more flavor but since that's usually frowned upon I think I'll just pass on Sam & Zoe's in the future.

I always enjoy this place. It is one of my favorite breakfast joints in town. I love their breakfast bagels so much. I've never had one let me down. The only thing i find bothersome is the heat of their coffee. It is the temperature of the sun. I always have to buy the coffee in enough time to let it cool down and be drinkable, otherwise I burn my mouth every time. They are great for easy meetings, they have wifi, most of the times, except during their busiest times when they cut it off sometimes. Great place to try for sure. I love local businesses.

I came here for breakfast while visiting Nashville and liked it so much that I returned for a late lunch. They have a great seasonal menu and, between my husband and myself, I tried two of their seasonal coffees (the Great Pumpkin Latte and the Ginger Snap Cookie Latte, both with almond milk), two of their breakfast items (the Californian on a wheat bagel and the breakfast burger on an everything bagel), the blackberry sage tea, and the TLT Duluxe. I enjoyed both coffees. The pumpkin latte was a bit sweet for my personal taste, but had good flavor. The bagel sandwiches were delish and really hit the spot! That veggie sausage was yum! My favorite items of the day probably wound up being the tea, which was so refreshing, and the TLT. The house made tofu really held its own in that sandwich. Bravo!! I spread the word about this joint and hope to return next time I am in Nashville...and next time, maybe I'll dine in on their patio instead of taking it all to go.

Stopped here (thanks yelpers!) for a chai latte (ended up getting it with a shot of expresso, which I don't recommend) and a quick breakfast/snack on my way through Nashville to Louisville. I was specifically looking for something with a drive-thru. Well, it has one, but you have to call in your order ahead of time. ;-) It's a really cute coffee shop with exceptional customer service. However, I didn't like anything I bought there (muffins, oatmeal, cookie) - I guess I need to order something else next time.

I tried the carma chameleon. It was tasty. I have it a four instead of 5 stars bc the barista was a bit rude and rushed. The drinks were quickly made but nicely flavored. The atmosphere was nice with inside and outside seating options. Great place for an afternoon break!

Nice neighborhood Coffee House with super friendly staff. We had breakfast sandwiches on bagels and fresh squeezed OJ. No line when we arrived but as we were leaving a line was forming. Will go back again!
Cute little coffee house. It was quite busy in there, we just got hot chocolate and coffee. Overall it was a decent place, but there was a group of girls sitting in the corner who were extremely loud, loud enough that at times you couldn't even talk over them. They got dirty looks form many people there too. They shut off the wi-fi between 10:00 & 2:00 which I thought was odd for a coffee house. I guess they are trying to get people to move along?

Good food, free wifi, friendly staff. Outrageous prices, though. 1 smoothie and 1 fruit parfait was just over $10.

Cracked me up because as I was checking in on Yelp I said "no" to the "good for kids" question and immediately afterwards, a bunch of kids walked in and they seemed happy as clams. One of the things I appreciate most about a coffee shop, especially on my first visit to a coffee shop, is if the staff is friendly and not a bunch of snooty jerks. The crew here was very nice and the gentleman who helped me choose my tea was great. He even steered me away from my first choice which was a great call because after he let me smell it...yikes...I wonder why it's even a thing! I'll get back here often. I just love Berry Hill. Wish I could get over there more often.

I would rate this 3.5. I occasionally drop by here for their smoothies which are fantastic. Their sandwiches are just average. If they step up their sandwiches then I will be a regular here.

Staff was really friendly, place was clean and I liked the overall vibe. But man it's loud in there! I met a friend for coffee but had a hard time hearing him from across the table. I tried the "Oompa Loompa" frozen drink but wasn't a big fan of it.

One of my favorite coffee shops in nashville. Love the breakfast options and I'm crazy about their sandwiches. Also the cereal killer bar... To die for ;) haha. I love their chai. The grasshopper is great. Big big fan!!

Very first coffee shop I frequented when moving to Nashville. The coffee is usually on point & we love their Lox & Bagel. Typically super busy, I recommend not going on a weekend unless you beat the crowd or else you'll be waiting for a hot minute.

Turned a crummy rainy day in a blissful morning. Atmosphere is really laid back, coffee shop cover with a small kitchen in the back. If you are looking for table service this isn't you spot but if you want a good brew and some delicious eats you are in for a treat. This is my first time and If I wasn't already full I would have ordered some more food! They have wifi so its a great spot to get work done or intimate enough for a small group meeting. Outdoor seating has a cover just in case, like today it's rainy!

Thank you, Yelp, for helping me find this quaint little coffee & breakfast shack. We stopped here on the way out of town last week for a quick breakfast and caffeine boost before hitting the highway. They have a great selection of coffees, teas, smoothies, bagels and other breakfast bites. I had the breakfast burrito which was OK but could have used a side of salsa (I poured on the Pete's hot sauce to spice things up). I LOVED the pomegranate green tea and their green smoothie was really good too! Next time I am in the area I will definitely give them another try!

Sam & Zoe's has been a staple in the Berry Hill community for as long as I can remember. It's quite small, so if the weather is bad be prepared to take your coffee to go. Today I ordered an iced vanilla latte & it was extremely sweet, to the point I couldn't really enjoy it. I was hoping for a hint of vanilla, but this was extremely sugary.
(3)

Our family's favorite breakfast spot! Love the Honey Bee Latte and the peanut butter banana wrap. The TLT Deluxe is great for lunch!
(5)
David D.
Great, "crunchy" coffee-house. Similar in tone -- to my mind -- to Frothy Monkey, but perhaps a bit smaller in terms of seating. Coffee was great, vibe was mellow; breakfast wrap was tasty. Not crowded at about 9:30 AM on a Sunday, but sounds like it gets jammed later on weekends. Pleasant outdoor / porch seating (though a bit too cool to try it on the day I visited). A bit out of the way and tucked off on a side-street, but worth the time to find it !

One of the older coffee shops in Nashville, and I get that when I walk in. They have a good variety for breakfast and lunch eats. They have your standard espresso drinks and have coffee brewed aero, Chemex, and drip. The roasters they use are Drew's Brews and Just Love Coffee, both are local. They also carry Vegan Vee muffins and desserts and this is a plus. Those treats are delicious. When I walk in I feel as if the place needs a good cleaning. It's got a cool little vibe and the deck is a nice place to sit while enjoying a beverage or snack. The place makes a decent sandwich and carries some nice desserts. Other than that I can't get into Sam & Zoe's. With other coffee shops popping up in the area it just seems to fall off my radar.

The peanut butter banana granola wrap. Order it. And the atomic pom smoothie. And perhaps a breakfast sandwich. Only thing I wasn't overly impressed with is my coffee but that's probably just me because everyone else loves it.

LOVE Sam & Zoe's! I tried it out last weekend for the first time and it was definitely one of the best lattes I have ever had. I got a skinny honeybee and it was delicious, quaint little place. The baristas were very nice, can't wait to go back :)

Great atmosphere, good coffee & latte selection. Great service and friendly people. Food & menu lack on selection & culinary execution. I had the breakfast wrap, onions were raw, eggs weren't seasoned well & overall kind of flavorless. Although it was a good experience and worth trying.

I work in Berry Hill and heard about this place from a friend. I stopped by here a few days ago for lunch to-go and ordered the hummus sandwich. I thought it was really good but a tad steep for a sandwich that didn't include a side of chips. Although I could tell the ingredients were fresh and good quality, so I guess you get what ya pay for. I want to go back and try a few other things I saw on the menu and some of their refrigerated pesto pasta. Several veggie options!

Good fresh food! They need to update their cash register though it was giving the poor girl trouble and customizing orders on it are troublesome. Friendly service and cute atmosphere!

I love the drive-thru. Please never let it go. The food is great and affordable. The patio is great when the weather is nice! My only compliant is that the coffee is also freakishly hot . Maybe dangerously hot? I'm all for hot coffee but when it's THAT hot, I assume it is because the coffee isn't fresh. Otherwise, everything is wonderful!

The chilled Grasshopper was life changing! It literally tastes liked a cold Thin Mint girl scout cookie!

I have lived less than half a mile from this place for more than a year now and I just finally tried it last week. They have a massive list of specialty drinks and a delicious menu. I loved the vegan, gluten-free pastry I had. My coffee was creamy & great. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff was patient and helpful. I'll definitely be back

Sam and Zoe do it up right! I haven't had a wrap or sandwich I don't like, try the black bean burger or Tijuana wrap and add some hot sauce if you go for that kind of thing (I do!). Their coffee is great... love the chai and espresso lattes are excellent. Come here for some local flavor and hang out a while! It's never overly crowded when I come, which is wonderful if I want to have a real conversation or work. Plus they have great art on the wall and a nice patio outside. I'll be back to see you guys soon!

I love love love S & Z. Tucked back behind the Yellow Porch and Applebee's plaza on Thompson Ln, sits this little gem. There are several tables both inside and out for studying or meeting purposes. My favorite part is the small coffee shop feel. It is personal. The staff are incredibly friendly. Can it get any better? It was a true Fall day and so a seasonal drink had to be ordered. When asked to pick between two options, the barista appeared to have been stabbed in the chest with my request as if she had to choose between one of her two children. But as soon as she mentioned that one tastes like Christmas, I was sold. The extra special spiced chai was my selection. Turns out my friend did the Solomon-type thing and ordered the other child option. The Davey Maebee, actually named after an employee combines honey and brown sugar into a savory and sweet coffee cocktail. I want to meet this Davey Maebee. I wonder if he would taste the same. The spice chai was nothing short of promised. It truly does taste like Christmas. It brought me so much cheer that I could have pooped reindeer with a smile on my face and a carol in my heart. If you are looking for a cool place off the beaten path or rather right under your nose, then try Sam and Zoe's.

Really good coffee here. I love their lattes. I also had a good salad with tuna and yummy sesame vinaigrette. The staff is friendly. There are also a few to go items in the fridge. I like eating local. Try their coffee!

Sam & Zoe's had exactly what I needed after a weekend of binge eating and wine: clean food and smoothies. I enjoyed a fruit smoothie with flax and st. john's wort (no idea what it does) and a nice spinach and berry salad. Given the relaxed atmosphere and porch seating, I'd come back. The only hold back is mediocre service (lack of smile, attentiveness, and overall charisma) and messy porch (had to move equipment off of tables and maneuver outdoor curtains to reclaim tables available on the porch).

Mac's bagel on sun dried tomato bagel is my favorite breakfast item - great coffee makes this place a winner!

I love the pumpkin flavored drinks in the fall... I recently discovered the food menu after seeing Sam & Zoe's being listed as one of the healthiest places to eat in the city. The chicken salad was one of the best I have had. I will be coming back for lunch more often. This is going to be my new place for lunch!

It's hard for me to not like a coffee shop, but this one isn't my favorite. Parking is hard to find. Prices are not listed on the drinks, which makes me feel like I'm being charged based on how hip I've dressed that day. Food is too pricey for me to have tried. Wifi is off during busy times. Coffee isn't bad, but I would rather have more brewing options than lots of syrup options. Noise level is totally unpredictable, sometimes music is at a reasonable volume, sometimes it is obnoxious and loud. Granted, there is a dearth of coffee shops in South Nashville, so I should be thankful S & Z is here, but I'd rather drive a bit further north for somewhere else.

I'm not a fan or a regular. No real fault of theirs, I find their food ok and their drinks pretty good, but I'm still not a fan. I don't know why I'm not a fan. I can hear that song "he's everything you want, he's everything you need ... he says all the right things at exactly the right time but he means nothing to you and you don't know why". Those are my feelings about this place. It's small, I like that. The drinks are good, I like that. There seems to be something missing there. It seems somehow detached from being what I would love in a coffee shop... like perhaps people on the front porch playing chess, or hell, people on the front porch. I never see that. Maybe some employee personalization. Perhaps a big old art project. I don't know. I know when it started they had a piano and some pianists would come in and play which pissed the staff off t the point they locked the thing / refused to let the piano be touched - I liked it back then. Not for the music so much as then at least something was happening. Maybe I like coffee shops as art in life, ho knows. I've spent a few hours at the place this year, on the porch, inside, it's a place I can go and order food and drink and it's served and it's not bad. It feels about as soulful and unique as starbucks though. It could be me, evidently I'm the only one who has never appreciated the coffee shops other people rave about. I just wish there was something other than the food and drink to entice me to come. But maybe I'm wanting a scene when they're wanting and providing a restaurant, but I think for a scene I'd be willing to brave the bad parking

Sam and Zoe's A cup of turkey chili and a cup of coffee for $7.24... Serious? That's ridic. It was good but get over yourself.

I really like this little coffee shop. The honey bee is delicious and the staff are very friendly, It should have been busier than it was, but I understand 100 Oaks isn't quite the "scene" that Fido or Barista Parlor have to offer, but I have a soft spot for both.

One of my favorites places in my neighborhood! They have an amazing chai latte and I love their chicken salad on cranberry pecan bread. I often order my "go to" but I am trying to cut back on breads in general so I asked about their salads. After explaining about my love for the chicken salad, the wonderful S&Z lady suggested that I try the Little Planet/Tuna Squared. It is an organic mixed green salad with lettuce leaf, cucumber, and tomatoes with chicken salad on top. The dressing is a nice toasted sesame vinaigrette. I absolutely LOVED the salad! It made me so happy that I could still enjoy the chicken salad and just need to replace my love of carbs for more greens. Nothing wrong with that. Everyone who comes to visit me by car or plane, I always tell them to stop by Sam and Zoe's on their way out of town or I take them there on the way to BNA. Everyone is so friendly and I love supporting a local place in my area! Thanks Sam and Zoe's for a delicious lunch.

Since I was at the mercy of riding along with someone else, my only request for lunch was a salad. Viola...I was taken to Sam & Zoe's. The restaurant seems like most local coffee, bistro-ish places...a little dark, handwritten coffee menu and a mix of diners. Props though to the outdoor seating which was great on a nice day. I ordered the Berry Hill salad which came with spring mix, almonds, cranberries, Parmesan and a great side of balsamic vinegar. The salad was the freshness I craved after the fried food fest I had the day before. I read some of the other reviews about the counter people who are surly, etc. if you aren't a hipster. I am definitely not a hipster and I was treated well. If I am in the area again on another visit to Nashville I would drop back by.

When it comes to coffee shops in Nashville, Sam & Zoe's is by far my favorite. Anyone who knows me knows that I have to have my coffee every day. While there are several places that I could stop at, I will go out of my way to visit Sam & Zoe's. This quaint little establishment tucked away in Berry Hill is just what the doctor ordered for the coffee snob in all of us. The atmosphere is great. The staff is absolutely tremendous. The soups and sandwiches are incredible. Trust me when I say that it is money well spent. If you are in the mood for a good sandwich, try the Black Bean Burger. I've already gotten several of my coworkers hooked on this incredible sandwich. If you have a hectic day ahead of you, stop by one morning for the Breakfast Burger. That and a cup of coffee will keep you full until dinner time rolls around. Really, you can't go wrong with anything you order there. Sam & Zoe's is located right off of I-65 in Berry Hill, within walking distance from the Vanderbilt medical offices and the 100 Oaks Shopping Center. Stop by and check them out. You'll be glad you did.

I'm not going to hate on this place. It's good coffee, but I wasn't able to taste the difference in their coffee and anyone else's coffee. It's about the same price as Starbucks...maybe a little higher, but I found their menu confusing. I was under the impression that there was food from the other reviews and even saw they were running a special for a generic sandwich...no price or details. And the parking is terrible! They share a lot with Baja Burrito. You might be okay if you drive a smart car, but I've got a mini-van and it was nerve wracking trying to maneuver my vehicle in tight corners and alleys. I get trying to support local businesses and this is something that I prefer BUT 1)the parking lot scares me, 2)starbucks at least gives me free refills and a free drink or food after so many purchases and 3) have I mentioned the parking lot scares the crap out of me? I might come back if in the area AND I'm meeting someone that wants to go here AND they're driving. It just doesn't stand out enough for me to seek it out myself.

The food is pretty good, but the main reason I come here is for the Dirty Chai/Chat Tea Latter. The best dirty chai/chai tea latte I have ever had. Everyone needs to try it!

Found this quaint little place upon my research of different coffee shops in the Nashville area. First thing I have to say is "pour over coffee!" This is a great thing that has been introduced to coffee shops over the past few years. Sam & Zoe's provides Drew's Brews which is amazing. I had a BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato) on wheat bread, which was really good. The place is nice and small and has a good vibe inside.

Honey bee latte ... I might survive after all. They have expanded their menu; step up to the counter and grab a menu from the holder on the wall below the counter.

I love Sam & Zoe's! It's become a place where I take guests from out of town or people new to Nashville; I love introducing people to this restaurant. It's a great place for vegetarians, and they have delicious beverages.
(5)
Carl M.
A Nashville Vegan's Hidden Treasure! First off, they are NOT a vegan restaurant, but they do have some really solid options for vegan eating. The "TLT" and TLT Deluxe" sandwiches are REALLY good. The vibe is "Nashville Musician Hipster", which is fine with me, but can be a little "cold" at times. In general, better food than just about any coffee shop in Nashville.

I don't make it here enough as I never seem to be in this area when I am craving a coffee shop vibe. Popped in here on Saturday morning with a galpal and ordered up a small plain black coffee and a piece of some dessert-y bread for a whopping total of $5. The interior is small but charming and I love that they serve breakfast and lunch all day. The overall vibe is pretty chill and quiet even! You may also sit on the small deck too. Sam & Zoe's is a solid option in the Berry Hill neighborhood for a meal, snacks, treats, or a basic cup of Joe. Maybe I'm just loyal to my other coffee shop spots but there is just nothing overly compelling for me to make the drive to Sam & Zoe's? TIP: Many options for vegetarians!

Great little local spot. The last couple of times we were here, we ran into a friend and had a great visit. That never happens to us, so I look at it as a good omen for the place. Good coffee, good breakfast sandwiches. Good vibe. Perfect hangout for a Saturday morning.

A nice, intimate, homey vibe to this joint. I like it and it's simplicity, though the staff could use some lightening up - they were not quite personable, and a potentially pretentious bunch.

Plastic plastic everywhere, with not a recycle bin to drink. I detest such places that go on an extravagance of all things unnatural. It is not terribly difficult to be sustainable and if local shops don't do it, one can't expect Starbucks and others to follow. One star dinged for that. Even though there were many choices for vegetarians (heck, half the menu was veggie) this is not a place that can satisfy my cravings for all things huevos. The omelets and other egg dishes were strangely absent and made me want to rush to Pancake Pantry or even Cracker Barrel. I doubt if I will return here.

Heather H.
It gets two stars because the veggie burger was filling and the cafe was open. The food was pretty tasteless, though, and I wasn't thrilled with the service. The cafe seemed kind of....dirty. Like another reviewer said, I really didn't get the impression that a whole lot of care went into the preparation of the food. The chai latte was good though. *shrug*

We came here for yet another lengthy study session. They advertise free WiFi but they are another one of those businesses that turns it off during busy times. Once again... wtf. We ordered 2 cups of chicken tortilla soup. We were charged extra for the chips and cheese on top so they were $3.85 each. They forgot the toppings so they brought us out 6 chips on a big plate. No cheese. They were certainly cups of soup and totally not worth almost $4 each. The soup was mostly broth. Super weak. The place was dirty and certainly needs a little TLC. My dirty chai was nothing special. Thanks but no thanks.

Coffee was great. BUT eggs in the MICROWAVE?!?! really? They tasted like...ahhh....eggs in the microwave. I shoulda asked before I ordered. Maybe I'll be back and try something NOT microwaved. But for now 2 stars is all I can give.

Sadly, I just learned that the honey-almond cream cheese is no longer being served. I'm so totally bummed! I will stick with the four stars because I love the atmosphere and the fun flavored coffee concoctions, but I sure hope they have a change of heart!

Sam & Zoe is close to my house, so I find myself visiting every once in a while for breakfast, coffee or lunch. What I seem to always forget is the complete and total lack of customer service that irritates me each and every time I visit. In fact on our last visit, my husband announced that we would never be going back again. But, alas, they are close and I was hungry... so I stopped in this morning. Once again, it was as if they were truly irritated that I had the audacity to come by and bother them with my coffee and muffin order. Grimaces and irritation abound at Sam & Zoe. My husband claims that they cater to hipsters, who seem not to mind the aloof or even hostile service. But the same hip crowd frequents Bongo Java and the staff seems to be able to be able to muster a half-smile and hello. Tip for Sam & Zoe - try at least pretending you like your job.

This little place is so great. The parking is kind of a nightmare, but what other amazing cafe do you know to have a drive-thru window? Incredible coffee, wraps and daily made soups! Their avacado tomato wrap is my personal favorite! Their menu is also are very very vegan friendly and they serve breakfast and lunch all day long. How could it get any better?
(4)
Aleksey Z.
Hard to find, but that's not really their fault. The coffee is Bongo Java and decently priced. The sandwiches- amazing. Quiet environment, great to just sit and talk for a while. Not as blown up as places like Fido have become.

Good things about Sam & Zoe's: location - not another coffee shop anywhere nearby mocha - my favorite in Nashville - a perfect blend of coffee and chocolate bagel with cucumber cream cheese - sooooo yummy packaged sweets & treats - you can't go wrong with any of them free wifi - 'nuff said open on Sunday - yay!! I am very excited about their new Sunday hours! Not so good things: service - the staff is a bit gruff, and the drinks are usually served with a side of "i'll get to you when i get to you" - the owner never seems to be there and the one time I did see him, he was really friendly which was almost jarring since it was so unusual! parking at lunch - obviously Baja Burrito takes over the parking lot during this time and it can be difficult to get a parking spot patio is smoking and unsightly - bongo java has a non-smoking patio section which is the only place to enjoy coffee smoke free outdoors in the warmer months. also - why did they start using their patio as refrigerator storage? It's like a stainless steel graveyard and not very appealing when you walk in the front door. All in all, I like Sam & Zoe's but I'm laid back and I think it's good for the price. Since it's tiny and the atmosphere is pretty blah, I almost always get my food and drinks to go.

Good coffee and decent smoothie. S & Z was a nice place to grab breakfast while I was in town. The girl at the counter was kind of a bitch but it's all good.

I love this place. They can be a little spacey sometimes, but basically this is a real local coffee shop. The food is really good- they have a lot of healthy menu options. The coffee is excellent, and they're really nice people. Also, they have a drive through, and you can call your order in ahead of time- which is a deal-maker when I'm in a rush with kids in the car.

For what it is, it does it pretty well, and for what I look for, it gives my what I want. I have actually met the previous owner of Sam & Zoe's, so it couldn't be all bad. I'd been there before, and it wasn't bad. It was early evening, and a lot of chairs were stacked on the table. It doesn't seem very professional to me, but it wasn't a big deal. I ordered my coffee, and since no one was behind me, I chatted with the guy behind the counter, he seemed friendly enough. My order took a little longer than I would have liked, but people were in front of me, so that's not the restaurant's fault. The flavor of my iced mocha was almost opposite the opposite experience I've had at other places. Instead of having the strong coffee flavor, and only the hint of chocolate, it had almost a cocoa texture behind the coffee, and that was different. The coffee has got to be an extremely mild blend, but I don't mind that at all. This does not have the warm, charming environment of a local coffee shop. It feels more like the college coffee shop where attitude is appreciated. It's kind of hidden, even the part that can be seen from Thompson Ln. has to be really noticed or you'll go right by it. Better to go down the Heather Place side, so that you can't possibly miss it. If you're near Hundred Oaks, and are jonesing for coffee, it's a good choice, but there are lots of places that are just as good. I liked their coffee, but you can get the friendly coffee shop experience a lot better elsewhere.

Came for lunch on Sunday. Asiago turkey sandwich was very good. Could have used a little more turkey. Asiago bread was good. Girlfriend had the black bean burger. Said it was very good, similar to Fido's. I saw another diner had a salad and it looked great. Lots of crisp fresh greens. I would come back for sure. But they ought to turn the heater up some in the restaurant.

Love Sam & Zoe's. We had been looking for a local coffee shop in the area and tried it based off of recommendations. Super friendly staff, great breakfast food, great coffee & its never been super crowded like a Starbucks usually is. Always room on the patio and it's nice and quiet for a relaxed way to start a weekend morning.

Such a cute little cafe. They have an extensive menu and coffee selection. Food is adequate but does a good job of filling you up. Staff is friendly.

The best chai tea latte in Nashville, hands down! This place is and laid back, has a cool vibe and well priced freshly prepared food. They recently got a new owner (not owned by Star Bagel anymore) and the place has improved drastically. If you were a previous fan and haven't been in lately you should really go back and see how much better it is. If you've never been to Sam & Zoe's you should go very soon for breakfast or lunch. You won't be disappointed! The chicken tortilla soup is awesome and I'm pretty sure most of their food is homemade.
Located right down the street from the Curious Heart Emporium. It's a small, casual place with delicious coffee and a comfortable atmosphere (we were there in 4/07).

I like Sam and Zoe's more and more each time I go there, and wonder why it isn't one of my go-to spots for coffee and fresh eats. Maybe because I live closer to Fido and Provence, and I LOVE Fido and Provence so much... But Sam and Zoe's is really good, too. I've had great lattés there - they were the second local coffee place (after Drink Haus in Germantown) I knew of that offered soy AND rice or almond milk! They have a great assortment of specialty drinks, as well as a great food menu. Everything I've had has been fairly simply, tasty, fresh, and certainly has a healthy wholesome vibe. Whether it be the veggie sandwich with pesto or the peanut banana granola wrap, or the soup which changes daily - it's all good, fresh, and yum.
(4)Misty M.
Had some tea and a croissant sandwich. Both were meh. Sandwich was really dry and the tea was meh. They told me about their tea special for the day and I asked for it. Then, they told me it wasn't made. They gave me some hot water and a tea bag. Needless to say, I won't be back.
(2)Mark H.
Really just a little hole in the wall coffee place. People are always very nice and fast service. The decaf coffee is by far the best in Nashville. Please works well for a business meeting also, the place has nice low key vibe.
(4)Lacey J.
(5)Joanna F.
(3)S B.
(5)Chansin '.
(5)Elyse B.
(5)Mina K.
A little out of the way but worth it. Great coffee!!! Staff was very polite and helpful. Great selection of food (gluten free, healthy fare). Seems to be mostly homemade as they run out. My choice over gross Starbucks any day!!!
(4)Colin H.
Three words: Peanut Butter Mocha! Only place in-town I've found that makes them. Amazing!
(5)Kim Y.
(4)J Q.
Very polite staff always. Very good coffee. Always fresh and delicious. Fast service and very reasonably priced. Much better than Starbucks.
(5)Pire T.
Cute little coffee shop in Berry Hill. Their hummus sandwich is to die for. Coffee is not that great though.
(3)Rachel S.
(4)Meredith G.
(4)Megan C.
(3)Charles C.
The drive-thru is what makes them special. That and the fact that they're the only game in the neighborhood. The food is inconsistent and the service is so slow. It feels like the most recent owners have never been in the restaurant business. They need a manager to whip those scruffy kids for employees in to shape!
(3)Nathan K.
Funky coffeehouse with flava (aka character) and free wifi. They also have an assortment of sandwiches. Great lunch time stop. I wish I had discovered this place earlier. Friendly staff. A real hidden gem. Can't wait to check out its neighbor Baja Burrito. (probably a 4.6-4.75)
(5)Vicki S.
Maybe.
(3)Anna A.

(4)Heather P.
This was the best white mocha I encountered in five days of travel between Denver and Nashville. Friendly service, good prices. Beautiful tattooed baristas. I'll go back.
(5)Claire B.

(2)Lauren E.
(4)Sandrene M.
(3)C S.
Use to be a hidden staple of Nashville that adored the community and supported it. New owner. no longer has the heart of the community is once did. Still some old faces there and still have some good local coffees if your in the area you can still get that but, I wont be back.
(1)Robin W.

(5)Donny W.
Great place. Excellent & friendly staff. The food is fresh & good. Great place to meet friends as it is really centrally located.
(4)Heather R.

(5)Chelsea W.
(2)Chad R.
(4)Amanda B.
(5)Linda M.
(3)Amanda B.
I tried the carma chameleon. It was tasty. I have it a four instead of 5 stars bc the barista was a bit rude and rushed. The drinks were quickly made but nicely flavored. The atmosphere was nice with inside and outside seating options. Great place for an afternoon break!
(4)Judith E.
Nice neighborhood Coffee House with super friendly staff. We had breakfast sandwiches on bagels and fresh squeezed OJ. No line when we arrived but as we were leaving a line was forming. Will go back again!
(4)E A.
Sam and Zoe's is the absolute most charming, delicious, quick, healthy and hearty food I've eaten this side of the Mississippi (except for Mama's gumbo of course). I would come here for breakfast every day if I lived in Nashville. Absolutely worth checking out; for the honeybee latté (espresso, cinnamon, vanilla, honey, milk) or the california sandwich (bagel, egg, tomato and avocado), or if you're really treating yourself, cornmeal peach buttermilk scones made with peach truck peaches. Awesome place!
(5)Susanne H.
(4)Eric C.
Good food, free wifi, friendly staff. Outrageous prices, though. 1 smoothie and 1 fruit parfait was just over $10.
(4)Linda A.
(4)Ali S.
I would rate this 3.5. I occasionally drop by here for their smoothies which are fantastic. Their sandwiches are just average. If they step up their sandwiches then I will be a regular here.
(4)Erica B.
Staff was really friendly, place was clean and I liked the overall vibe. But man it's loud in there! I met a friend for coffee but had a hard time hearing him from across the table. I tried the "Oompa Loompa" frozen drink but wasn't a big fan of it.
(3)Isa F.
Affordable and yummy couldn't be better!!! Their breakfast burrito will make your day and their cutest hipstery place will make you want to stay!
(5)Meagan F.
I got the red eye (coffee and a shot of espresso) with almond milk. Good stuff. I also had the Lox bagel which was not bad and surprisingly filling. I plan on stopping by a few more times before I leave Nashville.
(4)Carissa O.
One of my favorite coffee shops in nashville. Love the breakfast options and I'm crazy about their sandwiches. Also the cereal killer bar... To die for ;) haha. I love their chai. The grasshopper is great. Big big fan!!
(5)Katie G.
Very first coffee shop I frequented when moving to Nashville. The coffee is usually on point & we love their Lox & Bagel. Typically super busy, I recommend not going on a weekend unless you beat the crowd or else you'll be waiting for a hot minute.
(4)Jon F.
(5)Jen B.
(3)Grace G.
(3)Ashley C.
Our family's favorite breakfast spot! Love the Honey Bee Latte and the peanut butter banana wrap. The TLT Deluxe is great for lunch!
(5)David D.
(4)Cory G.
(3)Debra A.
The peanut butter banana granola wrap. Order it. And the atomic pom smoothie. And perhaps a breakfast sandwich. Only thing I wasn't overly impressed with is my coffee but that's probably just me because everyone else loves it.
(4)Emily Myles H.
LOVE Sam & Zoe's! I tried it out last weekend for the first time and it was definitely one of the best lattes I have ever had. I got a skinny honeybee and it was delicious, quaint little place. The baristas were very nice, can't wait to go back :)
(5)Dave L.
Great atmosphere, good coffee & latte selection. Great service and friendly people. Food & menu lack on selection & culinary execution. I had the breakfast wrap, onions were raw, eggs weren't seasoned well & overall kind of flavorless. Although it was a good experience and worth trying.
(3)Afkham N.
Decaf Latte? MIND BLOWN: POOF! Seriously I cannot function without lattes and up until today I did NOT know u can get a DECAF LATTE and NOT be awake until 6 a m! Best news ever!
(5)Ashley T.
(4)Sharyl A.
Good fresh food! They need to update their cash register though it was giving the poor girl trouble and customizing orders on it are troublesome. Friendly service and cute atmosphere!
(4)Jill L.
(4)Corey G.
The chilled Grasshopper was life changing! It literally tastes liked a cold Thin Mint girl scout cookie!
(5)Amber R.
I'll definitely be back
(4)J-P B.
Hot coffee.
(4)Sheena T.
(4)Teresa B.
Sam and Zoe's is a great little coffee shop in the Berry HIll neighborhood. It has been a neighborhood staple for years - good coffee, great service and a nice menu of sandwiches and pastries.
(4)Queen B.
if you're looking for men, look no farther, girls. 9 am and it's nothing but men getting coffee!
(4)Sarah C.
(5)Marci R.
Really good coffee here. I love their lattes. I also had a good salad with tuna and yummy sesame vinaigrette. The staff is friendly. There are also a few to go items in the fridge. I like eating local. Try their coffee!
(4)Ali B.
(3)Bryan S.
Mac's bagel on sun dried tomato bagel is my favorite breakfast item - great coffee makes this place a winner!
(5)Lindsay W.
(4)Laura B.
(2)Paul K.
(3)KJ S.
Sam and Zoe's A cup of turkey chili and a cup of coffee for $7.24... Serious? That's ridic. It was good but get over yourself.
(3)Andy B.
I really like this little coffee shop. The honey bee is delicious and the staff are very friendly, It should have been busier than it was, but I understand 100 Oaks isn't quite the "scene" that Fido or Barista Parlor have to offer, but I have a soft spot for both.
(4)Terry V.
(4)Amanda S.
(3)Chris A.
(5)Tara S.
(3)Jean S.
I loved having coffee there. Staff was very friendly. Coffee was good. Interesting mural on the wall in the ladies room.
(4)Betty K.
The food is pretty good, but the main reason I come here is for the Dirty Chai/Chat Tea Latter. The best dirty chai/chai tea latte I have ever had. Everyone needs to try it!
(4)Kenneth C.

Chilly wonka is a favorite!

But for now 2 stars is all I can give.

great food and great prices. Try the B.L.A.T. its the best!

Decent coffee. Usually plenty of spaces to work. Disappointing muffins. But I guess it's difficult to get good muffins anywhere. Right?

Sam and Zoe's was the first place I ever ate at (that wasn't a chain of some sort) when I moved to Nashville. It remains a favorite. Each time I visit there, a new artist's artwork hang on the wall, and they serve the very local and delish Drew's Brews coffee. It's a great place to grab a cup of coffee, study, and just relax a bit. The Sawf Salad with Chicken (getting the chicken is a few extra bucks) is probably the best café salad I've ever eaten. Be sure to get the raspberry dressing to go with it. It will entice groans of pleasure, I promise. And it's a nice portion size too. They also have some vegan offerings, the TLT (BLT anyone?) being my favorite. The sandwich has become a form of winter comfort food for me, and I don't have to feel like I'm clotting my heart with hoards of bacon. It's wonderful. A word to the wise: the menu's are on the wall as you enter and you seat yourself. I stood there pretty awkwardly my first visit, so this is just a friendly heads up for S&Z virgins. Parking is the biggest problem, and you'd do better to stay away until after the typical lunch rush, although there is some limited parking in back along with the front. Regardless you're going to love the place, scout's honor.

Located right down the street from the Curious Heart Emporium. It's a small, casual place with delicious coffee and a comfortable atmosphere (we were there in 4/07).

Best/only coffee shop in the Berry Hill area. Drew's Brews coffee. Perfect finish to a Baja brisket burrito.
