Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Great pizza place! You can choose everything from dough to toppings, or choose from the menu that takes the work out for you. Great for vegetarians and gluten-free. It has the feel of upscale fast food (nicer than Chipotle), but incredibly reasonable prices. The pizza looks homemade and all the toppings have great flavors. The salads are made to order and also taste great. Add in a drink for jus $9.99 and this is quite the deal!

Was in the mood for pizza but didn't feel like driving to DeSanos. This is definitely a cheaper quality pizza. Was disappointed that it is August and the Roma tomatoes weren't even close to being ripe. However, if you're on a budget and want a healthy option that tastes better than subway this will definitely do the trick. But I wouldn't recommend either place.

A friend recommended because it was fast! I had no idea the cost for lunch would be so cheap! It was NOT fast. It was so busy in there during lunch time it can be a bit intimidating! I did like the fact that the food is as fresh as can be for a place that is sort of like a sandwich shop. You pick the ingredients and they put it together and cook it! It is tasty AND you can pile on the ingredients! :D They offer gluten free crust for a small additional fee. Staff was very friendly. The best time to get there is between 11am-12pm for lunch.

Great value and great product. Found this on yelp while staying nearby and all three of us were pleased. We all tried different things and shared since it was our first time there. We had buffalo chicken, bbq chicken and just a regular meaty pizza. All three were delicious. We really enjoyed that we all could get what we prefer without anyone having to compromise. The staff was friendly and helpful. Better yet I found out today one will be opening soon near us!

I didn't do my research prior to going into Pie Five Pizza Co. in Donelson, I was just trying something different with the pizza I was bringing home to the family. It looked like a nice place, so why not? Less traditional than I expected, they make individual sized pizza's to order. Their menu includes a number of favorites and a good selection of toppings, sauces, and crusts to customize your own. They also offer salads built in a similar fashion. Outside of that there is little else on the menu besides some pre-made desserts, which didn't tempt me particularly. The staff were friendly and responsive, making my pizzas efficiently and were helpful enough. After topping the selected crusts (thin, pan, wheat, gluten free) they're sent through a quick oven. The dough is rolled fresh but both the thin and the pan were pretty thin (I suspect to ensure that a quick trip through the little oven cooks them completely). The hot pies come out the other side, are cut and further topped as needed, and placed on plate or box. What looked to be the manager manned the register and oversaw the operation while I was in there. He was gregarious and genuinely helpful. The dining room is sparse and clean, with new furniture and self-serve drink station. It was nice enough for a cheap meal but felt a little cold. They advertise that you can bring your own bottle of wine. I don't know why you would here, but I guess you can. The pizza itself was pretty tasty. We ordered the Margarita, Five Star (supreme), and a kids pepperoni. To be fair, I ordered these to go and it took me a few minutes to get through traffic to home. The pizza was less than hot upon arrival but dutifully disappeared, meaning it's transport didn't hurt the taste too much. By the time the pizza was consumed, what would likely have been crispy crust had sogged a bit. To be fair, I don't fault the restaurant for this. I would be interested in trying a pizza hot on site and updating my assessment of the pizza. Regardless, sauces were tasty, cheese was nice and everything tasted pretty good. For less than $7 per pizza, it was a decent value as well.

This is not even close to the best pizza in town, but honestly, to us, it was better than pizza hut or dominos (which we rarely get). My husband ordered the deep dish while I ordered the thin crust. You can have whatever toppings you like and they bake it pretty quick in the oven. My only issue was that it wasn't as cooked or crispy on the bottom as a liked. Maybe it was that there was a lot of sauce on my pizza so it was a little wetter. Overall, we would be back. It is inexpensive and fast.

Had it for the first time today and I love the subway style system! The customer service is great, and the food speaks for itself. I had a coupon , and got my food for an amazing price as well. Will definitely be going again!

Came in right at closing and Lewis Scott, the manager, turned off the open sign, let us in, made us pizza and gave us free dessert! I can't say enough about the service here. And the food is delicious!

This place was amazing. My husband, son, & I all came here and got exactly what we wanted on our pizza and nobody had to compromise. And this was all for only $20. The staff was friendly and service was quick. And the pizzas were super yummy. If we lived here we would be back every week.

GLUTEN FREE!!!!!! Love the gourmet pizzas. Visit there alot. Staff very nice. Clean facilities. Patio seating

This is really good. I have been here a few times. Good fast pizza and diverse menu for this price point. They toss a good salad while you wait. Quality fast food. I don't like the self serve soft drink robot, but their ice tea is awesome.
(4)Jason W.
Great food, but don't come hungry. Unless you want two personal pizzas, which is fine, no judging. Bring some friends and order several pies to share! Great fun.
(4)Tim G.
This is such a cool concept in the end. There's an amazing opportunity to get whatever you want on the pizza, without paying a ton of money. The concept here is just to get anything you want on the pizza for one flat price. It's also pretty fast. They cook it really hot right in front of you - you sit down and pizza is done!

Edit: I've been back a few times and have had less than stellar service here. One time I went and got a pizza salad and the bread was entirely inedible. It was rock hard. I also signed up for one of their rewards cards online. When I asked the cashier how to get a physical card, he literally just stared at me and then rang me up without even asking for the rewards info. Really rude. The line is always to the door when I go, and the people preparing the food still don't seem to have their act together. When I order the salad, I have to wait awkwardly in the middle of the line while people pass me, and then they never ask if I want the pizza bowl with the salad. I have to remind them and then the servers get flustered. It's an award experience. That first time seems to have been a fluke. Food is still good, but I am discouraged from going back again. ---------------------------- Very simple ordering system and pricing. I tried the Classic Italian salad in a bread bowl and it was pretty massive. It was delicious as well! My boyfriend got the High Five pizza. We were both thoroughly impressed. The counter has a Chipotle-vibe the way you order. Liked the decor a lot: it didn't come off as cheesy for being a fast food place. Definitely going to urge my friends to try this place!
(2)Jay R.
Lots of toppings, affordable, great crust variety, and also a very friendly employee who went above and beyond when she asked me if I wanted the spinach below the cheese to prevent it from getting burnt. I loved that! Pie Five rocks, you all keep up the good work!
(5)Tony W.
I always find it hard to believe you can get good pizza when not in the north east. Went here on a recent trip to Nashville and was pleasantly surprised. The place is small and because it was late they had little variety, but I had a meatball slice and it was hot and delicious. If I lived closer, this would be one of my top pizza spots. Staff was friendly and place was clean.
(4)Dustin R.
Ahh, these personal sized pizzas are so good. Came here for lunch and was surprised how fast the pizza came out of the oven and it tasted fantastic. I will for sure be back here.
(5)Jasmine J.
This place is great! I didn't give it a fifth star because I wish the pizzas were larger! My hubbi and I got two build-your-own pizzas and a side salad that was so DELICIOUS ! Will be going here again.
(4)Jessica H.
While visiting the area we were looking for something quick we could take back to our room besides the usual McD's, Taco Bell. Came across pie 5. It was a good choice. Fresh and fast best part their individual so we could each get exactly what we wanted.

Wow, a Free Holiday Gift, Free Pizza For Me. Made to order just the way I like it. Thank You Pie Five Pizza.
(5)Miss C.
Last night was my second visit here. The pizza is amazing, because you get to make it amazing. The previous reviewer was right. It's like a subway but for pizza. You pick whatever you want on whatever crust you want. And it's all the same price! (I think gluten free crust is extra, but there is no price change based on the toppings.) It's less busy at dinner time. I went in after 7 and there was almost no line. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was that the pan crust doesn't bake as thoroughly in the five minutes. When I was in line someone who was dining in came up and asked them to run their pan crust pizzas through the oven a second time. I wish I had done the same. On my first visit I got the thin crust and it was perfect.

I love this place so much. I love how you can make so many different kinds of pizza so you never have to get the same thing twice. I like how the restaurant is set up because even though there is usually a huge line every time I go in there it always goes by quick. They have an option to make your meal a combo, you should do it. They have really delicious deserts or if you want to go the healthy route the salads are great too. The staff is usually pretty friendly but the best part about pie five is obviously the pizza.
(4)Marie B.
My family & I ate here on a Saturday afternoon before the movies. I love the fact that all four of us had a pizza made to our liking. $6.99 for any pizza with as many toppings isn't bad. The food was delicious & the service was great. We will be back!
(5)Jessica R.
It's like Subway for Pizza - you pick out what you want, the crust, the toppings - you watch them make it - they'll ask you if you want extra toppings and if you'd like it for there or to go. The line was kind of long but it went by at the most appropriate pace because you already need time to figure out what you're getting. I'm already sold because they have two kind of thin crust and gluten free crust. If I find out that the mozzarella was fat free, I'm eating there once a week. Oh yea and what I had - The Farmer's Market - was GREAT!
(5)Kevin M.
Sunday evening at 9pm...had no idea this concept existed. All pizzas $6.99, any way you want and any toppings you want. We got 4 pizzas to feed 5 people and 3 would've been enough with no leftovers, Pizzas? Pretty darn good...I have paid much more $$ for much worse pizza. Marinara sauce mild or spicy and both very good. Crust OK, toppings and cheese decent quality. Staff nice also. Super fast 2 minutes to make and 5 or so minutes to cook and away we went to our rooms...

This place is delicious!! I will most definitely be back!! So fresh!! Make a pizza + salad for $10!!
(5)Gregg K.
Love it! You fully customize your pizza in an assembly line, both crust and toppings, they put it in the oven and its out by the time you get to the register. Very tasty, totally fresh, great, clean atmosphere, super friendly people. Don't have any comments for improvement. Just really like it. Well done!
(5)Michael R.
Holy cow! This place is amazing!!! Pie Five offers a variety of fresh pizza toppings that are so delicious. They have a Subway-style system that makes it easy to guarantee a correct order. All pizzas are only $6.99 including all the toppings! My family and I have enjoyed a wonderful meal tonight (3 pizzas, 3 drinks, and a dessert) for only $30. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant. A+
(5)Jane K.
The pizza was great. Very casual. Reminds me of a place in San Diego. Great. Just what we were looking for
(5)Annie E.
Love love love this place! We will be back often! Great price, service, food, and atmosphere!
(5)Mike B.
GREAT PIZZA! Friendly service...they went above and beyond what they had to do to serve 50 of our Competitive cheer team and parents from Missouri. Thanks to the manager Cain... Highly recommend!
(5)Jaclyn W.
My husband and I love this place! The pizza is wonderful and the employees are always super friendly.
(5)Clay G.
Pie 5 takes fast food to a higher level of quality. I wouldn't put their Pizza on the level of a Dasano's, but for fast food it is as good as it could possibly get. Fresh ingredients, made as quickly as you can get a Big Mac, and the set price for the create your own regardless of how many toppings you get is a real deal. Another reviewer is correct, this is the Subway of Pizza. Almost an identical concept except you get pizza dough instead of sandwich bread. This is a great concept for sure.
(4)Wendy H.
Awesome! You can create your own or pick one of their recipes...toppings were fresh. Everyone was very nice...we will definately be back...
(5)Lauren R.
I really like it. My pizza is fresh and better than I expected.I'm a new fan of this place. I'm very impressed and will definitely be back. Go Donelson!
(4)Meg P.
Everything is fresh and made to order. Don't be intimidated by the line to the door it moves extremely fast. It reminds me of a subway or chipotle where you can select what ingredients you desire to be added. It is healthy and fresh and my new lunch go-to spot.
(5)Kristin P.
I had heard all kinds of good things about Pie Five in Donelson, and after visiting them for myself, I have to say that Pie Five lived up to the reviews and my expectations. They had a nice selection of crusts and a variety of toppings. I like that the pizzas are made to order in front of you. I chose the Athenian pizza...olive oil / feta / grilled chicken / minced garlic / banana peppers / red onions / basil / kalamata olives / sun-dried tomato purée on a thin crust. It was delicious! I bundled my meal and had a side Caesar salad (served in a pizza crust bowl) and a drink..all for $10. Great food at a great price! I'll be back!
(4)Larissa S.
I think this is a great pizza joint but the wait in line sucks, all from ppl ordering a side salad.
(4)Bob B.
I give 3 stars not because it wasn't good, it's just there is better pizza out there, but let me tell you it was real good. It is 6.99 for any pizza, only one size, four different styles pan, thin, whole wheat and gluten free. You can get them anyway you like them as many toppings you like still only $6.99. They have salads and desserts as well. Today was gtand opening I think I had to wait line 15 mins bevause it was busy and staff still learning, but they all did awesome and all were super friendly. The owner came up to me while I was in line very nice guy. He said they are the Chipotle's of pizza. The ingredients all looked and tasted fresh. They put on the fresh herbs all looked great. Super kid friendly and kids size options. Give it a try is all I can say.
(3)Robert P.
A rare combination of good food prepared fast at reasonable prices! Fresh ingredients for the pizza that you custom make and great salad prepared for you all ready in about 5 minutes with drink for 10.00. Great value for the money.
(5)Atom G.
This place is really really good, but every time I've eaten here it's upset my stomach very badly. The food is great and So is the service but I will pass on the stomach ache.
(3)MrsKY90 R.
Awesome pizza, loved that I could get my own pizza "my way." Excellent pizza and friendly service.
(5)Catherine Y.
delicious pizza!! I love the concept. it's great for vegetarians and people who don't like gross and greasy pizza all the time. the menu helped give me ideas for what I wanted to build for my own. the whole grain crust was so good, I liked the sauce, the amount of pizza was perfect, and all for a reasonable price!
(5)Nanette H.
Similar to up and coming Blaze Pizza franchise. Great idea that will put traditional pizza places out if business! Individual pies for the same low price no matter the toppings, cooked and ready by the time you are! Delicious pizza. Gluten free options and build your own available.
(5)Abby N.
Well, I finally got to try Pie Five! I have been trying to go since they opened, but for one reason or another just haven't been able to make it until now. It was a great experience! They have four different crust types (thin, pan, whole wheat, and gluten free) and you can make any pizza you want or pick one of their signature pies. I was impressed with the ingredients (a wide variety and all fresh), their presentation (they prepare you pizza and salad in front of you to your specifications), and their speed (all created, baked and delivered in just a matter of minutes). And to top it off, they have hired people who actually WANT to work and seem to understand the meaning of customer service! The only thing missing was a tip jar for the staff! Those guys are very courteous and personable and would do well with tips! I highly recommend you give them a try and if you manage to save room, they also had several really tasty looking desserts!
(5)Sean S.
I eat a lot of pizza. It's my favorite food and needless to say I was excited to try this place. While the concept is somewhat unique, it's still costs $10 a person for a pizza and drink. That might be acceptable for lunch on the go. But it's over $50 when you have a family of 5. When you do the math, that is not very economical. There are plenty of better pizza places where I can get two good pizzas and drinks for much less. The pizza itself was just o.k. Decent quality on the veggie toppings, cheap food service quality sausage, and an average crust. Overall not very memorable and I doubt I will be back. They have the Subway concept, and about the same level of blandness.
(3)Yanik C.
absolutly amazing. and for the price cannot be beat.
(5)Erin B.
This is a great restaurant! The service was lovely and food was amazing. Pizza was quick with lots of topping options and well priced. We also had the Italian classic salad and I would highly recommend it. Great new restaurant option!! Will be back.
