This is another place I enjoyed during my stay @ The Gaylord, just minus a few things. Work is what brought me to the Gaylord, So not able to really venture outside of the hotel much being we were limited on time, this is another place I was able to visit several times. I really enjoyed the rustic, country western feel of the place. Its a fairly smaller restaurant compared to the other restaurants in the hotel though, with a decent amount of seating. They have a minimum amount of items to choose from on the menu all being down on the farm type country food, such as steaks with butter, fried chicken, fried green tomato's, mac and cheese... you probably get the gist and most everything was priced slightly more on the expensive side Some of my fellow co workers had ate here the day before and mentioned how good the steak were. So in carnivore mode, I decided to splurge and go for the steak for $37.00 It comes with your choice of two sides which I chose the mac and cheese and fried green tomato's. My server was extremely friendly and attentive while serving me and always made sure my glass of water was full and always checked to see if there was anything I needed while my wait for my steak. Super plus!! My steak finally arrived smothered in butter and looking quite appealing ( I have never had butter on my steak before so I was in for a treat.) I had my steak cooked medium rare and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned wonderfully! And the butter certainly was an indulgent that my stomach later didn't agree with but it was hand down delish. The mac and cheese was good but not great, I could only have a few bites because how rich it was. The fried green tomato's were also nothing special and definitely my least favorite of the dish. I came here another time with a few co workers who also tried the steak and liked. The second time I ate here, I ordered the steak again and it was great however, the server this time was a bitch, so I ended up asking for another waitress and got the nice one from the previous night. One other disappointment was I ordered a salad this time instead of the two sides and when I got my salad it was literally half of a cabbage sliced in half sprinkled with bacon and little tomato's on the side....Really? I asked my server if they have actual greens and she looked at me and smiled and said nope sorry. Yeah. Overall, I really enjoyed my two steaks I had here. I liked the atmosphere and found its rustic charm appealing and entertaining ( they also play live music there on the weekends) The service ( for the most part with my server) was sincere and friendly, not so much with the others. I also think they could use a few more healthier options on the menu as well.

Good BBQ food, however not anything special. There are a few things I would recommend the BBQ cheese fries and the sweet tea pork chop.

The grilled chicken sandwich was amazing! The menu was not huge but there were some different selections. Great drink specials available. This restaurant is inside an awesome hotel with some great scenery!

It is what it says it is. A saloon. A watering hole. The menu is pretty basic. Bar food. The service was pretty great, though. We had a friendly and attentive waitress who kept our glasses filled :) I don't remember the name of the band that played on 7/11/12 (two girls and one guy). They were talented and played a variety of music, but somehow everything sounded the same.

Pepsi? "Jack and Pepsi?" Seriously? Did Laverne buy the brand? Only Yankees would order a Jack and Pepsi. Terrible.

The burger was good but I wouldn't call it Jack Daniels plus for the price I think I would have done better going to Fridays. The Mac and cheese was bland and our waitress made sure to steer us clear for rom other bland tasting food. The rolls were good but not worth $8 and after waiting an hour for a table for 6 on a Saturday for lunch I was over the whole experience.

Stopped here while exploring the beautiful hotel. The food was wonderful. The menu was short but it was still difficult to make a decision. Everything we had was fabulous! Yummy =)

Seriously? Did I just eat a TV dinner and Sara Lee dessert? Figured I was in the "south" and I had Texas BBQ recently, so wanted some good ole fried chicken. Menu sounded tasty as it had hot sauce in the buttermilk breading. Holy boring! Wasn't very warm when it came out, and served on the finest 12" aluminum pizza pan. Nothing says white trash like no plates. Side dish of Mac and cheese. Rhymes with boring please. And yawn, that's what it tasted like. I tried to kill the taste with the corn bread and that seemed to do the trick. Thankfully it's impossible to F up cornbread. Since I wasn't full I figured is eat some dessert because as my mama told me it has two S's so must be twice as good right? Menu said "seasonal cobbler". In hindsight would have rather had a drink at the bar with a guy who repairs shoes vs that POS mistake they call dessert. The only thing 2x on that dessert was my disappointment! Small cast iron dish with cherry goo & cherries - I think they sell this canned crap at any 7-11. Wow a couple of streaks of pie crust across the top. (When I think cobbler I think nice flaky pastry dish with fresh berries inside. Call me crazy). Hey thanks for the side of pre-melted vanilla carrageenan slop too. Oh and don't forget, both served on that fancy 12" aluminum pizza pan. Can't wait for the bill to show up now and think about the next hour of work I have to put in to offset a meal that a starved dog would have walked away from.

I had the Sweet Tea Pork Chops - Wood-Grilled Bone-in Pork Chop with Tangy Peaches. It was very tender with an unusual salt like crust. On first bites you could taste the salt yet it was not over powering. Staff is friendly and the place is a bit noisy. There is a lower small stage where live music is played. There is a nice bar with all drinks available. The prices are high but in line with the other restaurants in the Gaylord.

Another Opryland rip-off. $17 for a "meh" burger. It's convenient if you're already at Opryland, and hideously overpriced. My friend's plain salad, without meat, was $11. Ugh. I do not intend to return.

The two stars are for the service which was very much what you expect from good southern hospitality. I was going to get a BBQ sampler plate but was on the fence with the southern tea soaked peach topped pork loin chop. The waiter suggested the latter (otherwise he would've gotten 3 stars). I chose the fried green tomatoes and come slaw as sides. The chop was sickeningly sweet and too salty (which seems to be a theme here at the hotel). The peach sauce had fresh peaches but was also way too sweet and cold. The fried green tomatoes were too salty to eat. The waiter earned points suggesting I try the collards which were good but overdone. The highlights were the cole slaw which there was way too little of and the large mason jar of diet Mountain Dew! You don't see diet Mountain Dew in restaurants too often up north so it was a treat. The desserts looked tempting but I couldn't bring myself to stay there any longer. Too bad as a very good local duo began a set. I had dessert at Christies so you'll have to check out that review separately.

HOLY CRAP IS THIS PLACE EXPENSIVE! The food is decent, the staff very nice, but like everything else inside the Gaylord it's ridiculously expensive. Lunch for two, no alcohol = $52.00.

You had me at "Jack Daniel's." No need to think about where to go or what to drink when staying at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel for a few days. If you like Jack Daniel's Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey (Yep, good ole No. 7), then this is obviously the place. There's a full dinner menu and a small stage for a live bluegrass band. Food + Drinks + Music = a Nashville Night Wanna try Jack Daniel's? Then get the Taste of Tennessee sampler with classic Jack Daniel's No. 7, Gentleman Jack (smoother), and Jack Daniel's Single Barrel (more punch). The sampler will set the tone for your night. I didn't get a Lynchburg Lemon Drop (popular) or other JD cocktails, but there are several from which to choose. Besides whiskey, there is plenty of brews on tap. My favorite was Georgia Brown which is an English-style Brown Ale from Sweetwater, GA., however, some of my peers were enjoying the local Tennessee-brewed Yazoo Hefeweizen. For food, I kept it simple and started with an order of Jack's Honey Rolls lathered with Honey Butter and Sea Salt. They're a soft and yummy way to start any meal. Keeping with the Jack-theme, I tried Jack's Burger ($15) with Angus Beef, Cheese, Bacon, Jalapenos, Grilled Onions, and Mushrooms. For an extra kick, I doubled-up on the Jalapenos and recommend doing so if you like a spicy and juicy burger. Service wasn't the best, but it was ok. The order for honey rolls was forgotten and we had to flag our guy down for drinks a couple times, too. Whether you know Jack or not, grabbing some grub and stout drinks at Jack Daniel's Saloon is a 3 to 4-star experience which sets it a notch above most bar offerings for you and the thousands of other tourists at the huge Gaylord Opryland Hotel.

Jack Daniel's Saloon is found inside of Gaylord Opry Hotel. One of the many restaurants at your disposal while wandering around that amazing facility. I ordered the open face pulled pork sandwich. The meat was tender and had a mild flavor. The coleslaw and potato salad sides were tasty! I enjoyed the carolina bbq sauce with mine (yum!). My fiance ordered the lynchburg club. It was really tasty and not piled so high that you couldn't get your mouth around it. His side of chili was delicious! A few select items on draft and a few select in house drinks as well. It was a good lunch but not the "best" bbq in nashville ;)

If you're eating dinner on the company expense account, then it might be ok; however, for an average family of four (2 adults, 2 teens), spend your money elsewhere. Wedge salad was not chilled and crisp, so it was certainly nothing special. $38 ribeye was poorly seasoned, side portions small, fried green tomatoes just ok after a generous amount of salt. My kid's $17 cheeseburger looked pretty good, and she didn't complain. She said the mashed potatoes were good. Server was nice, but overwhelmed and didn't check on us or provide refills without prompting. Atmosphere was incredibly noisy, but we were seated right by the bar, so that was no surprise I suppose. Overall disappointing experience for a higher end restaurant. I've had better meals at Outback.

If you can eat anywhere else eat there instead Dinner for 4=105 dollars no alcohol No complimentary bread Brisket tasted like pot roast One plus is that the macaroni was actually really good But there your problem, the macaroni was the best part of a BBQ place

I was attending a conference at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and decided to check out Jack Daniel's Saloon one night. It was super busy and there was a 30 minute wait. We were excited to try the Fried Chicken since according to the menu they only serve a certain number of Fried Chicken meals per day. The waitress also recommended the fried pickle because it's their most popular appetizer. The fried pickles were good, the coating had the right crispiness to go with the pickle itself. Our fried chicken arrived but they were cold. They certainly didn't taste like they were made fresh and part of the "limited" number of meals that day. Fortunately, it was a nice place to hang out and have a few drinks and our waitress was really nice and accommodating.

Food was pretty good. Might be slightly cheaper than other options in the Gaylord Opryland hotel. Definitely better quality and larger portions than the other places I tried. I got beef brisket and mac n cheese. Beef was good and mac n cheese was very good (I think it had extra garlic - love garlic). If I stayed here again, I would go here again before the other options in the building.

My husband and I ate at Jack Daniels for our anniversary (Saturday Night) since we were staying at the Gaylord Opryland. Within 30 minutes of finishing dinner I have never been so sick in my life. Food Poisoning is no joke. Here it is Tuesday and I still feel weak and horrible. I have already contacted my credit Card company and they are just going to have to work it out with them.

Expensive! I had brisket and ribs. $22.00 for 4 ribs and 4 slices of brisket! The brisket was over cooked. The waiter was not very good. He forgot to order our drinks. $10.00 for a Jack Daniels Lemon Drop drink! They have a good beer selection!

While at the lovely Gaylord Opryland....we ventured here. Good food, good name....what could go wrong? Although the food was okay, service was a bit lacking. It takes a long time to get your server either back to your table or once ordering to get your drink/item. With many tables here on my night, I could only count two servers on the floor....with only one of them at any given time. I never saw both together on the floor. This causes mucho delays. My wife ordered a water twice and almost didn't get it until we were about to leave. Yes, this is after being sat initially. Although my beers came pretty quick. Ambiance is nice, and the place looks great, I just think service 101 is not being adhered to - and after reading the reviews, I'm glad to see I wasn't being harsh....because I really like this place. I would go back, but with different expectations. I will say this....get the prime rib if you can.....it was very tasty.

Had an hour and a half till next seminar, came I here for lunch, party of 10 and took and hour to get food then 2 burgers came out rare! Took another 15 minutes to cook their burgers. Manager could have cared less when we complained. Waitress said we should have told her we had somewhere to be and should not have ordered burgers because they take too long to cook! They took those 2 burgers off our ticket plus 20% but we will not go back.

Good cold beer is a very good start. The pork shoulder was very good and juicy. Plenty of sauces to go with. Mac & cheese was very good. I think it had some pepper jack cheese mixed in with it. Slaw was good.

If your a fan of Jack Daniels whiskey or any whiskey then you should try this place. It is on the expensive side but the good is decent and there are plenty of choices. The burgers are good and the brisket is very tender and had a good flavor. There is a jack daniels whiskey sampler that is $20 and includes a shot of jack daniels black, gentleman jack and single barrel. It's a decent price for having shots at a restaurant, especially in the Opryland Hotel.

Brisket quesadillas were to die for. Wish I can come back everyday for lunch here. Amazing. They don't advertise that they're kid friendly, but they are and accommodated my daughter with some yummy chicken tenders. Recommending this place to all my TN family.

An unlikely spot for such tasty southern comfort food, but that's indeed what we found at Jack Daniel's. The half chicken entree with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese was a healthy amount of food and all delicious. The chicken was plump, the potatoes were fresh and rustically mashed, and the mac n cheese was lovely with its crunchy breadcrumb topping and hearty flavor. While not award winning, the corn muffins and honey butter to start were on point given how hungry we were. Crumbly and special with that great cornmeal taste. Iced teas are made in house and served in nearly quart size mason jars, so that was delicious and adorable. The service is where they really had us feeling that southern vibe. Frankie was very personable and attentive to our large party and kept us both well-served and entertained. Though the restaurant is in the hotel, the meal and experience at Jack Daniel's would have you believe otherwise.

The Jack Daniels saloon is located in the Opryland hotel in Nashville. I have only here once and the food was okay. At first when we arrived we did not have a reservation and I noticed that there were big casks outside of the restaurant that look like liquor was in them. I did ask the hostess if there were actual liquor in the castle she said The casts were just for show. I did have four people eating with me and our waiter was actually really nice and accommodating he really knew the menu well and he had a good selection of things that he recommended without us having to ask him for recommendations. We did not get any of the appetizers here I ordered a double shot of Jack straight and the two other people I was with got Jack and cokes and the other person I was with just got a beer. The waiter did say that the brisket was highly recommended. Two of the people I was with had a hard time choosing between getting the ribs or the brisket both of them ended up settling on the brisket. Me on the other hand I ended up getting a smoked Gouda cheeseburger with bacon and brisket on top The burger was garnished with crispy onion straws. When I receive the burger it looked absolutely amazing. I was very excited to try this burger. I took my first bite into the burger and I noticed that the burger was just okay there wasn't a tremendous amount of flavor from the burger. What I did taste was the onion straws the smoked Gouda cheese and the brisket. The brisket on top of the cheeseburger actually tasted very good. Knowing what I do now if I did eat here again I would just ask for brisket. One of the people that I was with that just got the brisket and it up substituting his side for macaroni and cheese. He told me he wished that he didn't get the macaroni and cheese because it was extremely dry. I tasted some of the macaroni and cheese and it was not something that I would've eaten. They definitely had it sitting for a while and they just reheated it quickly. I have had better microwavable macaroni and cheese then the macaroni and cheese that they had. I did think that my burger was a little bit expensive it was $19 for the burger with the brisket. I know you're having brisket to it but it was really only three pieces of brisket and if you charge a dollar for each strip of brisket. It's still a $16 burger. The one issue I did have was that they do not have a bathroom inside of the restaurant. I ended up having to walk through the entire restaurant go outside in the hall and walk down the hallway to go use the public restroom. Overall I did enjoy the ambience of this restaurant. I might come back here to eat I don't know if I will but if I do I'm going to keep it very simple. I highly recommend this place for drinks it's a good place for food just keep it simple. PROS: - ambiance is cool CONS: - no bathroom in the place. - bit pricy - The food looked great. taste wise surprisingly not much flavor.

Disappointed, we were expecting much more from a bar named Jack Daniels. Got the try 3 kinds of craft beer samples to choose which you liked. Ordered the short ribs for 2 and got two sides which we chose mashed potatoes and macaroni. The short ribs were very fatty. By the time you got the fat off there wasn't much left. The sides were blah. $40 for the food was way over priced. Didn't care for any of the craft beer samples so we struck out on all fronts.

This place went well above & beyond what I would have ever expected. Both my husband & myself were blown away by how amazingly tasty the food was. The Brisket Quesadillas were sooooooo full of flavor! We shared the Hickory Pulled Pork platter with baked beans & fries. It was well more than enough food for both of us :) Saved the extra sauce from the Quesadillas to dip the fries in ;) Sooooo yummy! The atmosphere was very pleasant & there were a couple of guys playing/ singing that night as well. They did a pretty swell job, I must say :) We had a high table but it was unusually comfortable for such. The employees were quite chipper themselves which was very nice to see & pleasant, quick service is definitely always a plus for sure! I had been by this restaurant a few years ago with my sister & toddler when she was a baby. A little disappointed that I had not gone in, but I did not because it wasn't clear that it was a "family friendly" restaurant but nowwww since I know, we shall definitely return :)

This place is not very good, my first order of burnt inns came and the grease was actually running off the plate. Reordered a salad with chicken, be sure to ask for white meat or you will get very fatty chicken for $6.

Pretty darn good! Those brisket quesadillas were fantastic. Everyone was extremely friendly. Brought me a sample of a beer we talked about. We chose to have apps instead of a meal and two were plenty. Very generous portions, Second app was the pimento cheese and ham. Very yummy.

Wife and I went here for our one year and the waiter Steve was awesome. The food wasn't bad either! We started off with the fried pickles which were run of the mill. Wife got the beer can chicken and I got the brisket. Both were fantastic and we wanted to pass out because of the portions. It was a great experience. Definitely was pricey and could've got the same meal at Logan's for half the price but it was part of the hotel stay experience so we didn't mind.

Very pricey for what you get, but I supposed that's pretty normal for a touristy spot. Our plate of ribs/sausage came out kind of warm, instead of hot. A friend who ordered the hamburger enjoyed her meal immensely, however. My BIL ordered a Manhattan and found it to be too sweet. Overall, I think this place is OK in a pinch.

Beyond disappointing. Brisket was so fatty, couldn't eat 25% of the meal. Salad was small, but paid a decent amount for it, chicken was cold on salad but was told its "served that way" bad produce throughout entire salad. Never coming back.

Ok, yes, it's pricey, but O-M-G this is the best bbq brisket on the planet!! and the portions are huge, definitely big enough to share. I roam the planet looking for anything nearly as good as this place, but alas I believe I will just have to savor it in my dreams unless my travels ever bring me back to Nashville.

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast after we checked out of the hotel. The restaurant was obviously understaffed, as was the case at each of the other restaurants we dined at in the hotel. We were sat relatively quickly, but it took a good 4 minutes before we were acknowledged by our server and an additional 4 before she returned to take our drink order. Since we waited for so long, we ordered our meal along with our drinks; unfortunately, this seemed to fluster her, but she recovered and took our order. She did not know a great deal about the specific ingredients of some of the menu items, but I was able to find something I could eat. My wife's breakfast consisted of eggs, toast, hashbrown gratin, and country ham. She liked her eggs and loved the hashbrowns, but her toast was dry and the country ham was a meager portion that was mostly fat. I ordered the brisket and grits, and I was pleasantly surprised. The brisket was juicy and flavorful, and the grits were stone ground and cooked perfectly. We paid $30 dollars for this meal, and while the food was nearly worth it, the service wasn't. Our drinks were empty more than they were full and it took a full half hour to receive our food. Considering the dining options in this city, I wouldn't do Jack Daniel's again unless I was staying at the hotel and didn't have a vehicle.

Oh my word. This place rocked! It's located inside the Grand Ole Opry, so the walk to the restaurant took us through some amazing looking rooms. The place was packed with fun-loving people and as the night went on, people started dancing. Awkwardly dancing, but it was fun to watch. I was there with some friends from out of the country, including a German man. When the band took a break, the lead singer came to say hello to us and asked us where we were from. We were all shocked when the lead singer held a conversation in fluent German with our friend. He said he took it in high school and worked to keep it fresh. For dinner I had pork tenderloin marinated in sweet tea and then chicken fried, along with cheesy grits and excellent greens. Any place that marinates meat in sweet tea has my vote. Try this place if you're in Nashville. You'll love it.

This review is going to be a little all over the place. I apologize in advance. I should have considered myself warned by previous reviews, but I had no idea that they cooked the food in another area of Opryland and wheel it into a wait station, where they sort your meals from others -- my wife and I were amazed as we watched the food get wheeled in from outside the restaurant -- it actually turned into a game of "Guess Who's Food is Coming From Where." Here's something odd. Ask for a kid's menu. It's the exact same menu at every restaurant in the complex and the food is exactly the same, and the price for a kid's meal is $8.95 at every place. $8.95 for a grilled cheese sandwich and chips. I should open a restaurant and serve only kid's meals priced at $8.95 and see how long it lasts. The food isn't bad, it's just not good. $18 for 2 pieces of gas station quality fried chicken, mac 'n cheese, and a piece of cornbread isn't going to make this taste any better. You are best off going into town and visiting one of the dozens of great restaurants Nashville has to offer. If you don't have the time or the transportation, walk next door to Chuy's and get yourself a margarita, some chips and salsa and some Mexican food for a fraction of the gas station chicken you left behind.

Over priced, but what do you expect at such a grand hotel. The price would have been better taken if the meal had not been so mediocre to bad. The service was great. But great service does not make up for tough ribs. These were not slow cooked as they should be. Although the portion was ample, you needed strong teeth and a pair of pliers to extract the meat from the bone. the side items portions were small, but they were very tasty. I had cole slaw and baked beans. My wife had the fried chicken " they only make a limited supply of" it was nothing to write home about. If you are from the south, you get used to fried chicken and you become a harsh judge of anybody else chicken, i.e. "not cooked by your mom-ma or granny". This hotel/ resort is fabulous, don't get me wrong. Just bring your pocket book before eating in the many restaurants here and don't eat the ribs at this place.

Monday night a few friends and I decided to check out the Christmas lights at the Opryland Hotel. For logistical ease, we decided we would eat at the hotel. Before our visit, I took the liberty of checking out the menus and reviews for all of the hotel's restaurants. Jack Daniel's was the only place that had good reviews and was not grossly overpriced. So, off we went! We thought we would be slick and have Jack Daniel's validate our parking so that we could see the lights without paying $25 for valet. Too bad for us, only the crazy over-priced hotel restaurants will validate, so we were out-of-luck on that one. We had a ton of food-chicken, burgers, sandwiches, and almost every side dish on the menu. We also enjoyed several beers and wines. Quite surprisingly, it was all good! We really enjoyed the food and libations and had a good time chatting with the bartender. I have to say, we were pleasantly suprised in all aspects, including the price. Was the price a little higher than it should be? Probably, but for a restaurant located inside the hotel, the prices were great. All in all, we had a great time!

Had a fine meal, the pulled pork and beef brisket. Local beer selection on tap was nice. Reasonable price about $50 for two.

There was group of 8 of us for dinner on a Saturday night last . We thought Jack Daniels would be an awesome place to go on our child free evening--NOT! To start we had to wait 15min for a table when there was only about 4 other tables seated so we went to the bar. The bartender was a bit rude & a bit of a smart ass. Once seated I asked the waitress if I ordered the roll appetizer could we get 8 instead of the 7 it said on the menu--she replied she didn't think so. I dropped it & didn't order it then. Next thing I know here comes the appetizer I only inquired about with only 7 rolls. Eventually we got an 8th. I ordered the fried chicken dinner which was the special. Usually fried chicken takes longer to cook than other meals so one would expect it to be piping hot but no, it tasted like they just took it out of the cooler. They warmed it up but in the time that took & it took us to find our waitress (she was always MIA) to bring me silverware everyone else was finished with their meal before I even started. All in all I will never return to this place even if my meal was paid for again, which it was this time.

I can't attest to the food here but the service is terrible. After we were seated we waited about 15 minutes and nobody even came over to greet us or take a drink order. The restaurant wasn't that busy and there were servers standing around at the bar just staring aimlessly in our direction. We ended up leaving before anyone came over. For $20+ per plate, I at least expect someone to come over within a reasonable amount of time to acknowledge our presence.

I absolutely loved the food here, however the choice selection wasn't that great. I totally didn't expect a Jack Daniel's to be inside the Opry Hotel...so that was really cool to see. The burger was pretty good, but the appetizer fries were awesome. They had this ketchup sauce that was out of this world. Overall I really enjoyed the atmosphere, I felt like I was at a laid back bar, not at a country hotel. The people were friendly, the food was fast, and even though they gave us two orders of our appetizers, they let us just have both :) I would highly recommend stopping here if you go to the Opry!

The best place to go Late Night in the Opryland. It's actually open till 2am and has live music on the weekends. The menu is fairly limited even though there's a large dining room. Full menu till 11, then only pizza after. There's also a patio which is pretty nice. It's a fun place to go hang out with friends or coworkers.

This is probably my favorite place within the Gaylord. Comfortable, good food, band was decent. I had the chili and cornbread one night, which made for a very filling dinner on the cheap. Another night I sat with my sister as she had the meatloaf and mac and cheese (which she said were really good).

We got into Nashville late on a Saturday night and after going straight to our rooms we headed here for drinks and dinner. We sat ourselves and waited about 5 minutes when the waitress came over and told us the kitchen was closed - ugh!!! So we asked if she had any bread or crackers we could have (we had just flown in from California and hadn't eaten since 11 am), she said no and quickly took our drink orders. She brought us our drinks and then surprised us with a small plate of saltines and some deviled ham, cheese dip. We were stoked!!! The crackers were great, the dip was terrible, but we ate it anyway because we were starving and the drinks were fab!! Our bill for 6 drinks was $75, a little pricey, but was good :) There was a live band playing which was nice - we were able to sit and drink and munch while listening and unwinding from the trip. We did get kicked out at about 1-130, they handed us plastic cups and had us pour our drinks into them so we would leave (they had closed!) - at least they provided to-go cups!!

Only about a 20 minute wait on a Saturday night, so that was nice. The server was good, but didn't really go above and beyond in terms of service. We had onion rings as an appetizer, which were good but pretty basic. I had the pork shoulder bbq with mac n cheese & pork n beans. Brad had the half chicken. His chicken was really hard to eat, but the flavor was good. My meal was good, but nothing too exciting. The live music was nice also. At $50 for two people, I expected more.

I had an interesting take on coleslaw for dinner (it was late and I really wanted something small and light) and my husband had a sausage sandwich. His was WAY overcooked and gross. He ate about three bites and gave up. They did comp him the meal, which was nice. The people next to us had problems with their desserts. Clearly, the food and service were WAY off this particular night. The highlight of this place was the bluegrass band. LOTS of personality and very talented.

The menu was surprisingly minimal - a couple burgers (including a veggie burger), a couple appetizers and a few steaks. I opted for a burger for my first night in Nashville, and glass of wine. Side note: Funny thing I noticed about Nashville, every dining establishment offers spicy mustard, and I love it. Anyway, the burger was decent, nothing to go out of your way for, and the server was efficient. I sat just outside the bar area, which was LOUD with live music on a Tuesday at about 9 p. There was also "patio" seating which puts you in the garden/traffic area of the massive hotel grounds. The wine was not so good, but still cost me about 10 bucks - boo. Definitely tasted like the bottle might have been open for a while (that's what I get for ordering wine at a whiskey bar, eh?) I also experienced the first Nashville accent phenomenon here. When I first arrived and was helped by various airport and hotel employees, I found the accent absolutely charming and it made me smile and feel like I was in a different world. However, once you encounter one incompetent person with a Southern accent, it immediately becomes the most irritating thing you've ever heard (the hostess at the Saloon found about ten ways to annoy me and forgo her duties in brief time we interacted). So, if you're stuck in this hotel and need food and drinks, you're better off getting better service, better food, more options and better beer selection (AND whiskey!) at the Irish bar. It's about an eight minute walk on the other side of the hotel, but worth it, trust me.

Great atmosphere but horrible food! I ordered a glass of Highdef Riesling, classic burger and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese tasted like it was sitting under a heat lamp for three days and the burger was not the quality of meat they advertise. Plus they charged $15 for the meager helping. The hostess was sweet but the server Thomas couldn't get me out of there fast enough. The only positive note was the BBQ sauce was great!

You had me at Jack Daniels!!! Walked in, place has a very open feel to it! Nicely arranged and cool design. I started with a taste of Jack Daniels which comes in 3 testers or shots! Can't think of a better way to start a meal! I had the Pork Chop under the advisement of my server who boasted it was the best and most popluar item on the menu! It looked like a Tbone steak when it arrived, everything was so good. Hat's off to the culinary team there, 2 for 2! Dessert.......oh sure, chocolate something...take me home.

Fun music and OK food. There was a bluegrass band playing and they were pretty good. The wait was a bit long. Had fried catfish with coleslaw and corn bread. The catfish was yummy but the fillets were a bit thick for deep frying. Corn bread had cheddar in it and was tasty. Good beer selection. If you have to eat in the Gaylord I recommend it. Chris

I just came back from this restaurant. We live locally and met friends from out of town. We should have gone into Nashville... We had the catfish that was mush, the smoked sausage that was dry as a bone, and the macaroni and cheese was noodles with an orange tasteless paste. The beer was fine. If you go here to drink you are OK, but if you want to eat... go into the city of Nashville. High prices for "TV Dinner" type food.

This restaurant proved the only disappointing dining experience during our recent stay at the Opryland Hotel. To be brief: the fried chicken is advertised as a specialty, and it is far from that. We were served blandly breaded, dry chicken, about as tasteless as could be imagined. Only one of us got a breast; we never though to ask for white meat assuming that for $19 we could expect that. The sides were only slightly better: lumpy potato salad, vinegary greens, fried okra that was lukewarm. And we had to wait nearly 45 minutes to get in although the hostess told us it would be no more than 15 minutes. Frankly, we'd give it one star if not for the very friendly, speedy waitress and the good Jack Daniels on the rocks. You have been warned.

Dinner was mediocre. I had a burger medium well and it was very dry, my boyfriend had ribs and he said they were average. The waiter had just been moved from another eatery in the resort so apoligized alot for not knowing the answers to questions about the food. We had potato skins for an appetizer. The rub on the skins was good but I had to dip the skins in bbq sauce because they were very dry. They served iced tea in mason jars and there were Jack Daniels whiskey kegs around...good ambience...if you want a great meal though I would leave the resort and go down the road!

It was ok. Expensive, like every restaurant at Opryland. Portions were decent. Service was adequate, but not über friendly. Live music a plus. Broad draft beer selection (craft brew lovers will be pleased).

We had lunch here while holding a series of corporate meetings at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. It's a simple menu, probably to make service fast during the lunch rush. I had the Caesar Salad with Fried Green Tomatos, and a side of "Baked Tater Wedges" (same as big french fries), with Iced Tea to drink. A simple lunch, but the Caesar was very good, and with the extra potatoes (slightly spicy and very tasty - paprika? Cayenne pepper? a bit of both?), more than enough for a filling lunch. They also have burgers, a variety of sandwiches, and desserts. Service was fast - food arrived within 20 minutes or so of ordering, and was exactly what we expected. Recommended for lunch.

We stopped by the Opryland Resort to see the Christmas lights, and decided to eat here. It was very crowded and noisy, and we waited approx. 20 min. for a table on a weeknight, service was slow, and the servers seemed understaffed and overworked. We had to ask the next table over to share their condiments. We both had the 1/2 barbeque chicken, and it was very tasty..the sauce was wonderful..but the sides are very limited [choices] and I had the cheddar cornbread, which was awful...no cheese taste whatsoever, and basically tasted like old cake. The steak fries were good, and my date's cole slaw was pleasing to his taste....vinegar style. All in all, considering the choices available at Opryland, I would recommend this for the chicken alone, just be willing to be patient with the slow service and mediocre sides. Ask for some barbeque sauce on the side if you order the chicken, because the breast part could have used more sauce, but considering that our server was so busy elsewhere, we couldn't get her attention to request that. We were pleased that our server informed us of the pinkness of the smoked chicken....my date said he would have thought his was underdone otherwise. No one came around [management] to question whether or not we were enjoying our meal, or required anything.

Had an hour and a half till next seminar, came I here for lunch, party of 10 and took and hour to get food then 2 burgers came out rare! Took another 15 minutes to cook their burgers.

It's a little pricey but food was great and so was the service! Live music was wonderful!

Service was really slow and forgetful. We had to remind them of our appetizer which ended up coming after our meal. The food quality was subpar as well. We were there for lunch, so no music to enjoy unfortunately.

Pricey for what you get. It had a better menu back before the flood. They cut it down a lot.

Chris

This is probably my favorite place within the Gaylord. Comfortable, good food, band was decent. I had the chili and cornbread one night, which made for a very filling dinner on the cheap. Another night I sat with my sister as she had the meatloaf and mac and cheese (which she said were really good).

This bar is inside the Gaylord city-like hotel. it is a real laid back atmosphrere plus they serve good food for a bar, during the day. When I was their i learned about the different kinds of Jack and let me tell you next time you are in a bar or happen to go the the JD saloon ask for the Single barrel Jack N Coke. i never knew Jack could taste so good.

HOLY CRAP IS THIS PLACE EXPENSIVE! The food is decent, the staff very nice, but like everything else inside the Gaylord it's ridiculously expensive. Lunch for two, no alcohol = $52.00.
