Tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago. As residents of the Gulch, we were eagerly awaiting the opening of this new restaurant. We have been here twice -once for dinner and the other time for Happy Hour. First off, their Happy Hour deal is awesome if you want to hit up a place after work but don't want to drop a lot of cash. They have a $3 red wine and white wine on special each night , $4 draft beers and $6 cocktails. They also have a selection of $6 apps. I highly recommend the guacamole as well as the mushroom brie apps - very tasty! When we came here for dinner, I tried the prime rib which was excellent but it was paired with these mashed potatoes that had a funny flavor to them that I found that quite odd - could have been the parsnip? My husband had the very reasonably priced scallops and said they were just "ok". Not sure we will return for dinner but will definitely return for another round of Happy Hour specials sometime soon. Glad to have another reasonably priced dining option in the Gulch!

Great ambiance, friendly staff, terrific menu. We LOVED the chunky guacamole with naan, sauteed spinach with onions, avocado and chickpea salad, and prime rib. Selection of craft beers is small but solid. We'll be back -- maybe tomorrow!

Enjoyed lunch here today. Though I wish they had a lunch menu. Once you add protein to the salad it's a bit pricy for lunch. The French onion soup was good but at a higher price point for what it was. I expected something special for 7.

Jerk Chicken and crab and shrimp nachos are to die for! The cheddar grits were also a special treat. Service excellent. Our server was very friendly and attentive.

Lettuce eat Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf, please! What a yummo taste when prepped wiith morel mushroom sauce and roasted root veggies. What a great idea! What a entree! Lettuce, 'matos, oranges, avocadoes and feta are part of the ingredient mix in the half dozen City Fire salads. Nibble the Nutty Cheesy Salad with jack cheese. A mild Hot Chicken breast sandwich is moderate heat by Music City standards but still good, specially when washed down with Yazoo or Jackalope draught, both brewed in the City Fire neighborhood. In the Icon, the City Fire american dishes are moderately priced for the Gulch. I'll be back for their Sweet Potato pie.

Went here before the Symphony one night and so was on a timeline. The server was fantastic and the service just the right speed. The highlight of our dinner was their take on Hot Chicken. We will definitely be back.

This is an absolutely amazing find in Nashville that everyone should try! There is a huge menu with a large selection that ranges from small plates, soups, and flatbreads, to large, higher-end entrees, so it really is an amazing pick, no matter your budget. The staff was incredibly friendly, the ambiance was wonderful, and the food was absolutely amazing. I had the seafood bisque with a margherita flatbread, and I can honestly say they were the best two interpretations of those menu items I've ever had. Everyone else's food looked amazing as well, and I'm already planning my next multiple trips back to keep trying everything on the menu!

Nice little restaurant. We have a very big party though which seem to overhwhelm the staff. We had guacamole as an appetizer which was good. My sister had crab cakes which were delicious. My salmon was decent, but I wouldn't necessarily come back for it. Would not order one of their speciality drinks again. My "margarita" was $10 and not worth it. A few of my friends ordered a martini and it looked like they had spilled half of the glass before it got to them! Also a pricey drink.

I ordered the Chicken Carbonara tonight. It came out cold and I sent it back. It came out again and was still cold! Really? The waitress said that the manager would be out to discuss this. He never showed up. She told me I wouldn't be charged - hello!! I didn't have any dinner!!! WTF!

This was my first time visiting City Fire. It probably won't be the last. We went for lunch. The menu has plenty of options to please just about anyone. The staff were all kind and efficient. Our server was on point the entire time. Items ordered: Shrimp Tacos, Mahi Mahi Tacos, Patty Melt, Salmon(just baked) Everyone really enjoyed their food, and we have labeled City Fire as "a keeper" for work lunches!!!

Excellent food and service. Caesar salad was chilled and tart. Just the way I like it. Hot chicken was good and paired with freshly made coleslaw. My trout was very good. The rest of the menu was interesting. Finally found a place to get a good martini in this town!

City Fire is not only my favorite place in the gulch to eat, it's my favorite place in Nashville to eat. They have great happy hour specials, great cocktails, and great food. My favorite meal is the shrimp and grits. I have had it multiple times and it tastes amazing every single time. The modern fashioned cocktail is a must try. It's a twist on an old fashioned and it's unlike anything I have ever tried. I have sampled other cocktails which tasted just as good as well. My favorite appetizer is the Maui flat. It's a flatbread with pulled pork on it so what's not to like?

Awesome news is they give complementary two hour free parking in the icon garage (hate parking in the gulch) also awesome, super not crowded and a very decent little brunch menu with bottomless mimosas. Service was great, I'm always a fan of people who will keep my water glass filled even when I'm not drinking alcohol , the tables are super huge and cool seating options for bar or booths - decor wise though the sheer curtain separators feel kind of like a dorm room solution to noise reduction. Still, seems like a great easy place you could bring a group to. I picked the sweet potato hash skillet, the husband got the steak and eggs. Food was fast, but a little mediocre. I sent my hash back initially, kindnof confused about the pale basically al dente potatoes. Sweet potatoes are the heart of the skillet...they're made to crisp and brown and draw up those sugars! Our waiter was super cool and took the plate away, brought me a new "more done" dish shortly...and to my astonishment the potatoes were still pale and sad looking...not as al dente but it seemed that boiled and sent out was the intention of the chef, not a bad plate that got out. Sad face. I liked te bread that my husband got, my hash flavors were good and the idea was awesome but oh if those potatoes had crunched like they are meant to and not just weirdly al dente...I also tried the grits - good cheese, flour weird under cooked taste. I don't know if it's just brunch they are trying to turn table fast but overall, the food wasn't prepared that well. They still have a great space for a group and with the parking and their very decent looking happy hour menu, I'm willing to give it another shot with a crowd.

Enjoy this place a lot. Have used these guys for Large party meetings, and just stopped in for Sunday brunch. I keep coming back because the food and service is great. Totally recommend their weekend brunch. Bottomless mimosas for only $10, great food, large portions, and awesome atmosphere. I had the sweet potato hash, and although it looked like a smaller portion, I couldn't eat it all because it was so filling. Was a great way to start my Sunday.

Where do I start...what a neat looking establishment this is. It is lean and obviously well kept. For the most pat, the staff was attentive and professional. The hostess was was a litter rude. She seemed put off that we did not have a reservation, even though the restaurant was empty. We ordered our drinks, soda for two kids and tea for my wife and I. The drinks actually tasted bad, like bad ice or cups. I had some french onion soup that was incredible.. I give that a five star on its own. My wife had a french dip that was fine and son had had a Cuban that he loved. My other son and I each had a patty melt. Both burgers were very raw...in fact raw would seem like medium to these. The manager saw them and removed the charges from the bill. Great service for recognizing the problem and handling. All considered, I'll give it a three star but encourage people to try it for their own experience.

I really enjoyed our brunch here. They accommodated our large party, we had plenty of friendly timely service. Bottomless mimosas were put on pitchers at the table so we could refill at our own leisure. I got the sweet potato hash it was pretty good, my date got the sweet and savory burger though and it was delicious! I'd recommend it

A co-worker and I parked our bums on the patio for quite a long time to have a working lunch-- complete with laptops, calculators and stacks of paper. Their patio only has 3 tables, and a planter makes a good sound barrier between the busy street. The staff was very friendly and super accommodating. We were grateful to have a nice spot to enjoy good food, get creative, and get out of the office. Though I don't think they get a lot of working lunches like this. The hummus starter is absolutely delicious! It has a bit of a kick and is topped with some fresh veggies. I had the Mahi tacos which were fresh and tasty but I kept eyeing my co-workers panini, which I think was a better choice. I hear the bottomless mimosas are a steal so I plan on coming back for brunch sometime.

We had an awesome meal here, seared tuna for my hubby and shrimp and grits for me, this was probably the best meal we had in Nashville. The place wasn't very crowded and I can't imagine why. Maybe because it isn't on Music Row where the bars are. This is in the Gulch area of Nashville. It had a great ambience, pleasing colors, nice gold sheer curtains adding color, low lighting but not too dark. You can see the cooks from an open area if you'd like to see what is going on in the kitchen area. Good service too. Ok now this may be odd but I loved the bathroom here. An aesthetically pleasing spotlessly clean bathroom really makes a difference to me. 5 stars for the bathroom. We shared a chocolate flan for dessert which was good but not great. I would definitely recommend that you give this place a try!

What a pleasant surprise. A nice atmosphere, not too loud, and attentive staff. The bacon wrapped shrimp was great and my hubby enjoyed his scallops. We will return. A nice spot in the busy Gulch area.

I normally hate the gulch in every way possible. It is usually way to much of a pretend LA/Buckhead no personality place with ridiculous prices and people trying to show off. This is however the only place in the Gulch I would ever go to eat in and I LOVE IT. Why I love it: 1. Parking - EZ PZ - with the icon garage only 50 meters away and you can park there for free (at least for an hour). 2. The food - wow this is superb food. Everything from the simple flatbreads and hot chicken to fancier items like scallops are top of the line American/Southern fare that look amazing, have great flavor, and I can taste the glorious freshness 3. The Happy hour specials - COME HERE for happy hour... great deals (3 dollar glasses of wines, 6 dollar appetizers) 4. Super Service - top of the line service. Everything worked out to perfection 5. One of the few places in Nashville where you can still get restaurants and still it is memorable.. Why it doesn't get a 5th Star: The menu is great... but I need a place to be super unique, culturally, and foodie wise, or something. City Fire is super awesome American dining... but nothing sets it uniquely apart.. just great... not to die for

I'm here for Sunday Brunch. You can't beat the $10 bottomless mimosas. The kitchen was a little slow today but the food is absolutely amazing and well worth the wait. Our server Devin was great and provide fantastic service! The cinnamon roll and the sweet and savory burger were 5/5!

I do believe I have found my Nashville brunch staple. I stumbled upon City Fire on (where else?) Yelp while researching for my recent visit to Music City. So, I know I can be a tough critic sometimes, especially when it comes to brunch, but they had me at two words: bottomless mimosas. Not to mention EIGHT DOLLARS bottomless mimosas. Newsflash: bottomless mimosas are kiiinda my thing, and maaaaybe this is my second review of an outside-of-Cincinnati bottomless mimosa brunch spot in the last month, but hey -- we all have our vices, right? Evidently the Nashvillians hadn't caught onto this amazing deal (or don't have the same affinity to bottomless mimosas as I do), because the place was DEAD at noon on a Saturday. Normally, that'd be a red flag, but neither my favorite brunch cocktail nor my omelet disappointed me. Plus, the service was great if only exhibited by the fact my mimosa literally never hit the bottom. I will most definitely be coming back to City Fire next time I visit Nashvegas, because... Mimosas (duh).
This place is amazing. I've seen it change names a couple of times, always been my favorite. Great wines, great food and garage parking for 2 hours free with validation.

During a recent trip to Nashville, a friend and I stopped by City Fire to grab a quick meal. It was Saturday night, we were starving and every other restaurant in the Gulch area was completely packed. Luckily, we were able to score two seats at the bar in City Fire. Almost immediately, the server approached us and took our drink orders. She disappeard for a while and came back with our drinks and answered a few questions about the menu. We put in our order and that was the last time we saw this server. Honestly, she kind of disappeared after that, not really checking in on us to see if we needed anything. Someone else brought out our food, which was completely fine, but when it was time to leave, we waited for what seemed like forever for someone to bring our check and collect our payment. Up until this point, I was ignoring the poor service but this is where I got annoyed. After waiting so long, we decided to pay with cash so that we wouldn't have to wait for someone to finally return with our credit card. Geeze, this place would have really been better if service was right. I'd try City Fire again because the food wasn't bad at all. Maybe they were just having an off night...

Went for dinner tonight with a friend. It was dead but couldn't understand why. The decor is nice. The bartender makes a great drink. I had the shrimp and grits which were delicious! My friend had the French dip which she said was tasty the only draw back is they don't have french fries! Who doesn't offer french fries! I will definitely be back.

Amazing service. The manager checked on us multiple times when our food took a little longer to come out. Offered & provided a complimentary appetizer to apologize. Devin ("with an '-in'") is the best server and I will always request him when coming here. Love me some City Fire!!

Really great food and interesting cocktails. Arriving at happy hour made our experience decidedly more happy. Online reservation system was seamless, if a bit unnecessary for the time we visited.

I went to City Fire American Oven & Bar today, February 7, they had their full menu, and Brunch today for it being a Saturday, it was about 2:30, and Brunch ends at 3. We sat in the bar area, the Bartender was our server, skinny blonde, she was pretty awesome, very attentive. Alright, let's get down to it. Went, prompt service, first time there, suggestions were handed out. Endless Mimosa's for $8, I went with my parents, I got the Filet - Medium Rare with the sauteed spinach and an extra side of the beer bacon mac? My parents got the Huevos Rancheros: brunch item, and the Open-Faced Hot Chicken sandwich with the sauteed spinach as a side. I've read other reviews about City Fire, so I can only speak for this current visit, and for the time of day I went. It wasn't busy at all, but I am sure it gets pretty packed, I wouldn't doubt it. It's a great place with delicious food. I like how they have several old doors as part of the wall going into the back. The bar area is very neat, and not cluttered, they offer Happy Hour. Excellent! All around, menu is well priced, I will be going back.

We stopped by for a late dinner. The restaurant itself has a nice design and was within walking distance of our hotel. Service was odd. Fairly attentive but our server seemed uncomfortable having to actually talk to people. We got a big cozy booth in the bar. For our meals, BF got the jumbo scallops with corn and bacon succotash. He rarely complains but said that the scallops were over cooked. I got the sweet chili shrimp flatbread from the appetizer menu. I didn't really care for it and basically stripped it of the overcooked shrimp and left the flatbread covered in watery raw tomatoes. Clearly, it was not good and I laughed when my server asked if she could box it for me. Ha. Maybe we were there on a bad night or ordered the wrong things. But for us, this was a disappointment.

This restaurant is perfect for couples, girls night out, an engagement party, etc. I love the ambience, great staff, the food was delicious and even the water was refreshing. Three entrees and an appetizer were under $50.00. The fish tacos were good not the best in Nashville though. I will try some of the other Yelp recommendations next time.

I ended up coming here on a whim when my momma wanted to try something new and I was actually really impressed. I had liked Music City Flats when it was here, and Urban Flats before that, and I figured City Fire was going to be the same thing with a different name. It wasn't though. It's really beautiful inside, kind of modern and cozy, and my server was just the nicest guy. I always forget how large it is in here. And they've rearranged the seating so its a little more private. I liked it. And I also liked my seared tuna tartar...with mango and avocado...it was divine! And there are flatbreads on the menu, like City Fire's many predecessors, but the focus is more sandwiches and entrees now. Though I had their flat bread with fresh mozzarella, a serious guilty pleasure of mine, and it was really good. I urge you to give this place a try. It's better than the places that were in this space before, and being located right in the Gulch its a great place to have dinner and start a good night.

A brunch spot, in the Gulch of Nashville, with bottomless mimosas, and I didn't have to wait... yes!! With a unique dark wood and leather feel mixed with brass lantern-type lights this seems like a potentially awesome date night restaurant, but I came for brunch on a Sunday with a group of girls. The food was creative and delicious, something that doesn't always work out. The brunch menu has bacon apple cinnamon rolls and huevos rancheros. And I did mention bottomless mimosas, right? With a great location in the Gulch and access to a parking garage I am still shocked this place wasn't busy. The service was the best I've had in Nashville! My endless mimosa glass was never empty, and our server, DeMarcus, offered very concise recommendations. I will be back. Many times over.

I happened to drive by and noticed that City Fire had people inside after being under construction for a good amount of time, so my BF and I decided to stop in and check out the place. I found it odd that they didn't have signage saying they were now open after such a long hiatus, but maybe they will do something bigger for their grand opening on Thursday. I figured this would be another repeat of Urban/Music City Flats, but upon entry noticed that they did a complete overhaul inside and had revamped everything. I really like the new layout and space, it has a dark, cozy feel to it. The menu was rather boring to be honest. Salads, and your typical meat entrees like fish, steak, etc. We ordered the salmon and the parmesan crusted grouper and both came with a side of sauteed spinach and a blackened lemon for use on the dish. The salmon was good, but my grouper was a bit odd.. there was something about the butter sauce combined with the parmesan crust that just tasted strangely. It wasn't great. They offer pretty nice wine specials and a happy hour until 6:30, but I definitely felt $30 was overpriced for my meal. Since it was their second day open, I'll cut them some slack and give them another chance, but overall it was just OK.

I really wanted to love this place, but it was just ok. The atmosphere is very nice and they have a very cute bar area. The drinks were mediocre and the food was just ok. Four of us went out for a girls night and we tried City Fire because our normal favorite restaurant was booked solid. I ordered a pasta dish that was horrifically spicy and I love spicy food. The service was great though and we loved our waiter. I have heard good things about the brunch though so eventually I may give that a try.

We went here for my birthday on a Sunday night. The restaurant was quiet-We were one of 3 tables of people in the restaurant. Staff: was pleasant, prompt, and smiled Food: was very good. We thought it was all well done and we enjoyed every bite. We ordered the mushroom & brie bruschetta for our appetizer. It was a tasty combination with the bread not too crispy. I ordered the Filet with bacon beer mac as a side. The filet was served with a sauce that added to the filet but it wasn't too strong. Although the mac & cheese was good, there wasn't really a beer or bacon flavor. He ordered the prime rib which was just right which came with yukon potatoes that had a sour cream flavor. For our drinks we had a modern fashioned (a bourbon based drink) which we wouldn't order again even though we are regular bourbon drinkers. We also had a bootlegger which was a moonshine and tea mixed drink that we liked much better than the modern fashioned.

Great brunch spot. I'm visiting from LA, but with friends who live here. I know people are saying 8 bucks for bottomless mimosas, but it's 10.. Still great price. Went with a party of 4 girls and sat at the bar, we all ordered different things off the brunch menu and everyone was pleased. Our bartender ( young, attractive blonde) was very sweet and attentive, even gave us help with things to do in the area. Great spot for locals and tourists, will definitely be back.

This place doesn't get enough credit! The food is great and they have bottomless mimosas on the weekend for $10. Not the trendiest brunch / overall restaurant in town, but it's a cool place.

This was the first place my husband and I had dinner during our trip to Nashville. While the decor is nice and we were able to get a seat right away on a Saturday night, we were let down by the quality of the food. I had the hot chicken sandwich and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich. Both were just okay; nothing special. I asked for mashed potatoes as a side, but got kettle chips instead. I had inquired about the kettle chips when ordering, so I understood the confusion and didn't ask the server to change it. The kettle chips are from a bag and not homemade (which is what I was hoping for). Giving this place 2 stars because I feel that it is overpriced for what you get.

Made reservations for the bottomless brunch for a Saturday and the place was pretty empty. I rode red the sweet potato hash skillet and it was incredibly delicious. My only complaint is the small portion sizes of the food, but it tasted great. My group ordered bottomless mimosas for $8 and it seemed as if our waitress was ignoring our table and we had to continuously ask for a refill. Besides that, I think the place is great and if I'm ever back in Nashville I will definitely stop by again!

New restaurant in a location where there is a lot of competition. Walked in around lunch time on a Sunday. It was empty. Very friendly staff & service was great considering there was one other table there. APPS: wild mushroom & brie baguette - mmmmmm....mushrooms... I loved this appetizer. Bread was nice & warm with the cheese melted on it, and you could spread the mushroom-y goodness on top of the warm bread. 5 star! sweet chili shrimp flat - Crust was thin crispy, shrimp was cooked to perfection & the sauce was sweet but not too over powering. 4.5 star! ENTREE: My girlfriend had the seared tuna salad which was delicious, fresh & light. Me on the other hand asked the server about the fish tacos and he said they were GREAT. EHHHH.... not so much. The grouper tasted fishy, I wasn't a fan of the tortilla it came on & the spicy mayo didn't really have a great taste. It was the grouper though that made it crappy. They should use another fish - it just didn't work...something didn't taste right. I would definitely come here again - just stay away from the fish tacos.

An often forgotten about gem! We've eaten here a couple of times now and found ourselves pleasantly surprised. Food is yummy and price tags are reasonable. Drink specials and resident discounts make this place quite inviting for icon peeps. My only real complaint is that I feel they desperately need a lunch menu. I feel like everything is a little too "heavy" for anything but dinner. Everything we've tried so far is pretty tasty. It's the second best Hot Chicken in the gulch (Party Fowl two blocks away being #1 if you have two hours on your hands to wait on your food). My usual order; Hot Chicken or Jerk Chicken!

I ate at City Fire for my graduation dinner. I had a large party (30 people) and everyone raved about the service and the quality of the food. Our waiters were fun and attentive. The scallops were melt-in-your-mouth good. I'm a happy camper.

I loved City Fire! The menu was a bit small, but everything that we ordered was delicious. To start, definitely go with the bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with cream cheese. Yes, you did read that correctly, and if you need me to repeat it, i will...BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP STUFFED WITH CREAM CHEESE. Let's continue. I was able to try a little bit of everyone's meal that I was with, and I will say my favorite was the Chicken and Spinach Panini. It was a large portion, and it was cooked to perfection. We also had ordered a french dip, and the au jous was a little too salty for my taste, but the sandwich was great. I personally had ordered the fish tacos, and I was definitely satisfied. It was a bit messy, but they gave extra tacos to make sure you didn't miss a bite! If you are following any of my reviews, you know I have to have a little snippet about their alcohol..Great mojito, but I wouldn't say it's the best in town. I am still on the hunt for that! Make sure you try the Dark Chocolate Creme Brulee!!! It is FANTASTIC TIP: They validate parking!

Thumbs up! stopped in here with my parents and husband for some dinner. This is a fun area to visit, lots of bars, restaurants and funky shops around. There is definitely a nice ambiance at City Fire, the inside is modern and pretty. We started with the shrimp flat bread and it was delicious. The shrimp was so garlicky and tasted great, I can sometimes get picky with shrimp, but I really liked it on the pizza. My dad and I got their hot chicken, I wanted him to try some because it's so famous for Nashville and he loves spicy food. While it was very good fried chicken, it wasn't like Nashville famous hot chicken I am used to. The spices were a little toned down, it was very easy to eat, very safe. I'll have to take him to a little hole in the wall place for the real deal another time. Don't get me wrong, we both really really liked it, it was really good. Everyone liked their food, it was all pretty delicious and our server was great too. City fire is definitely a safe bet for good food and atmosphere.

We ate a late lunch there today. Service was very good, and there were quite a few tables filled. I ordered the Red Rock Seafood Bisque as an appetizer. It was very good! Creamy, nice pieces of seafood on every bite. I wish that I had ordered the bowl, rather than just a cup. Nice for a cool, windy day. I also ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich. While it was good, it definitely was not what I would consider "hot" chicken, much more on the lighter side of hot. (However, this is what I have decided is "hot" to most other palates.). The cole slaw was somewhat bland, but decent. My hubby and friend ordered house salads which were huge! Homemade croutons were great! Bruce also ordered French Onion Soup, which he said was typical of the French Onion Soup he has had at other restaurants. Ambience was nice. I would definitely go for drinks and appetizers and hang out in the bar area.

For the price, best brunch I've ever had. Had the prime rib and eggs, flavor was like nothing else. Bacon was cooked perfect, well flavored. Prime rib paired perfectly with the eggs. Atmosphere was inviting, wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. Food presentation, which doesn't matter as much to me was spot on as well. Looking forward to returning again soon

Delicious food and speedy, attentive service. A creative menu that allowed me to choose from the classics and some creative new dishes. I ordered a Caesar salad, fish tacos, and the reuben. I plan to return to this nice restaurant again with family.

As a native nashvillian, I've walked by this place no less than several dozen times and finally ate dinner there tonight. What a pleasant surprise! It's unassuming but the food and service were top notch. Our table ordered an assortment of items off the menu; everything from salad, to meatloaf, to flatbread. Everyone raved about their food. They even brought a delicious chocolate bread pudding for the table for my mothers birthday, without being prompted. They had a wonderful happy hour, even on a Sunday! The location is great, in the heart of the gulch, and walkable to other bars and nightlife if you're looking for a different scene after your meal. Definitely try this place whether you're new to town, a nashville native, or here for the weekend. You won't be disappointed!

Was in town for work and visited on a slow Tuesday night....good beer selection and service and the salad was very good. If you are in the area and need a bite to eat and a drink this place seems more affordable and less trendy than some of the other options.

Surprising find in Nashville! My wife and I took a wrong turn in Nashville. Okay... I made the wrong turn. We parked across the street from City Fire to decide where to eat. I was thinking elsewhere but my wife found this place on Yelp. What a fantastic find. We started with the Wild mushroom and brie. Very flavorful! She opted for the Chicken and spinach panini. I got the Parmesean grouper with an additional side of grits. Excellent is all I can say. Finished with the Chocolate bread pudding. Definitely coming back and with friends!

I would suggest City Fire to anyone! The food is just as good as other more expensive places in the Gulch and more reasonable price wise. You can't go wrong with the bacon wrapped meatloaf! Also the hot chicken is phenomenal! For appetizers, I'd suggest the guacamole or BBQ shrimp. The ambiance is fantastic and it's a great place for most occasions. Must try in Nashville!

Let me start by saying they have really improved the look and feel of the interior. I would go on to say that this place is a poor man's J. Alexander's, except the prices are higher. Pretty good appetizers and okay entrees, a couple beers/wines and $100 later I wasn't all that impressed.

We recently took our staff of 10 for dinner last night. What a bonus to be able to order a couple of great apps at happy hour price, plus drinks. Variety of items on menu that seemed to please all. The wait staff was very helpful and quick to meet requests. The overall atmosphere was nice and it was a meal that didn't break the bank.

The service and food was just ok. My husband and I were on vacation and were looking for a stellar meal in Nashville. The ambiance was nice, lighting, etc. We got there early for our reservation and didn't expect to be seated right away but noticed that they seemed to be understaffed. The poor host was scrambling and doing two people's jobs. Once we were seated we ordered - the server was nice and answered our questions. He also seemed stretched and had too many tables. Once the food came, it was just ok. I got the salmon with spinach. The salmon was unevenly seasoned - A LOT of salt in the middle (almost inedible) and not any on the extreme ends. Spinach was just ok and not all the leaves were cooked. My husband got the cuban and it was also so-so. Things seemed to take a long time from beginning to end. It wasn't the stellar meal we were looking for and wouldn't go back.

Phenomenal cuban sandwich.

Went there with friends. All 4 had something different, all 4 extremely happy with their meal. You must save room for dessert, chocolate bread pudding...perfection!!

I have been here a couple of times and the food has been good on all occasions. The prices are good for the plate sizes and the food has good flavor. Recently, we stopped in for brunch. The Burger and the Crab Cake Oscar were good. The $8 bottomless mimosas made the brunch complete.

This place is truly phenomenal!! I had the jerked chicken and LOVED it!!! Whatever you do.... you MUST save room for dessert!! The marshmallow creme brulee and chocolate bread pudding is GREAT and highly recommended!!

After searching for a Sunday brunch in Nashville, a friend and I chose City Fire-- admittedly for the bottomless Mimosas. When we are in Nashville again, it will be for the amazing food and top class service. We started with cream cheese stuffed bacon - wrapped shrimp with mango salsa (hole the barbecue glaze. In retrospect, we could have ordered two of those and been blissfully content. Instead, we forged on and ordered the sweet potato hash and the burger. Being women, we had to "on-the-side" this and "hold the" that. Stephen (Steven??) Took all of it in without notes and everything came out just as ordered... and more delicious than we expected. Strongly recommend City Fire for anyone seeking a very fine meal with exceptional service.

Food and drinks were just ok. Service was great and the setting is pretty, but I didn't think the food was that impressive. The best thing we had was the guacamole appetizer - this was actually amazing, but the entrees were not as impressive. My sister and I split the fish tacos (with the as our spinach side) and the seared tuna salad, both of which were pretty bland. The restaurant is in a fun part of town though, so worth a visit.

Great food and service. The waitstaff was very attentive, especially since we were a party of 13 talkative people. The Prime Rib was delicious and the chef made my dinner dairy free. How can you ask for anything more!

Good food, good service. Didn't blow me away, but solid all around. You won't be disappointed.

The food was wonderful! Our favorites were the appetizers: Wild Mushroom & Brie Baguette Margarita Flat Shrimp & Crab Nachos Entrees were great too. Prime Rib Jerk Chicken Scallops Try the Mashed Potatoes Best meal I've had in a long time!

Just received a very professional response from City Fire about a disappointing experience there for brunch. The positive professionalism in their response tells me the experience we had was an anomaly, we look forward to visiting there again soon for what is sure to be a great experience! Previous review: Brunch today at City Fire was disappointing in both service and food quality. Our drinks, a Bloody Mary and glass of champagne took about 20 minutes after several reminders to our server. Our server attributed the wait to how busy the bartender was however we could see the bartender talking to people at the bar, not making drinks, and the restaurant was not at all busy. When we were finally served our drinks the Bloody Mary was watery. Our entrees were a Cuban sandwich that was cold, the meat was cold and the cheese not melted, with a side of cheese grits that were also cold and clumpy. The other entree included sweet potato hash with barely cooked sweet potato cubes. The server did offer us a dessert on the house because of the wait but the experience was so bad that we did not want a dessert. It is so difficult to write a review like this but we hope it helps this restaurant, with so much promise, to improve.

Went on a Friday evening. Had a reservation, showed up a few minutes early, and didn't need a reservation as it turned out... Fantastic and attentive server - someone who knows how to talk to people and doesn't smother you with attention. Made great recommendations. Split (2 people) the maui flat as an appetizer...a flatbread with BBQ and pineapple. Excellent start. Entree was the bacon wrapped meatloaf. Anything wrapped with bacon is great; any comfort food wrapped in bacon is out of this world. I didn't have anything spectacular, but the service was good, the food was solid and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Definitely worth going back and trying other things on the menu.

I went here for an early dinner with my girlfriend and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was prompt and polite. They had knowledge of not only their food menu but their beer and wine list also. We shared a soup and an appetizer. Both were the right size and delicious. I order the French dip for my main course. In my opinion it was the best I have had and would highly recommend it. The prime rib was tender and amazing. I would recommend this to family, friends and strangers alike.

We loved this place in the Gulch area of Nashville. We were late in seeking a Saturday evening dinner reservation, had not heard of this place before, and were pleased to snag a rez.... We had an excellent meal -- we were seated quickly at a window table; server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Menu is extensive and had multiple options for a vegetarian family member. Quality of the food was excellent. Convenient garage parking within a few hundred yards of the restaurant. Nice spot for more casual dining.
The meal was excellent with huge portions. I had the Chicken cabanara with beer bacon macaroni and cheese. I would recommend the chicken, I did not like the macaroni. Always order the bread with your meal it has the perfect blend of butter and garlic. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Nashville.

Nice vibe. The rice crusted fish was amazing. The fish tacos were okay - not as much texture or uniqueness to them.

Terrific meal and ambiance. I am so happy my coworkers and I chose to eat here! The happy hour specials are absolutely fantastic. All of the flatbreads are delicious, but the Maui is my favorite. It is meat-packed without being too heavy, and I like that they are light on the BBQ sauce. I will be a repeat customer, hands down.

Delicious food and drinks. They have a good selection of appetizers and entrees, although the menu is a little sandwich heavy. We went as a big group and tried a lot of dishes. Of the appetizers, we had the sweet chili shrimp and caprese flatbread, both of which were very flavorful. But the brie and mushroom toasts were by far the best. If you only get one appetizer at City Fire, this is the one to go for! For drinks, I had a petite sirah that was wonderful, but my dining partners raved about the cocktails. I ordered the seared tuna salad for my entree and it was fantastic. I loved the ginger dressing! If you are in Nashville, I'd recommend City Fire.

I went to City Fire with a friend for happy hour, just drinks and appetizers. The $3 glass of wine was a heavy pour, and a good quality Cabernet. The margherita flat bread was excellent, as well, with the twist of pesto and balsamic reduction. My friend loved the white sangria and the tuna tartare. The menu overall is diverse in its offerings and pricing. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in. The staff members are very friendly and welcoming, and have good senses of humor to boot. The bartender, Samantha, was attentive and friendly, and didn't leave a single patron waiting. City Fire will be a regular destination.

I absolutely loved this place. Been here 3 times on Saturdays or their Happy Hour, which is incredible. $5 lemondrops are yummy. Their margaritas are great too. Only thing I've ever ordered is the guacamole and OMG. I crave that stuff. And it's half off during happy hour. Hubby got the hot chicken and cheddar grits and he loved it. I definitely recommend this place. It's a great atmosphere and I love the decor. It's super clean and every waitress/waiter/bartender is super sweet.

After some incredible drinks at the Patterson House, we decided to go find a good meal nearby. City Fire popped up on yelp, good reviews, reasonable prices, walking distance, sold! It wasn't at all crowded on the Thursday night that we visited, but that worked well for us. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Food came out fairly quickly and was delicious. We ordered the Shrimp and Grits and Prime Rib, both were fantastic. Good size portions, reasonable prices, and great service, we will be back next time we are in Nashville.

Awesome food and terrific service! We split a bottle of Champagne for about $20 and had two tasty entres. The ambience inside is great and it is a perfect date night out in the trendy gulch!

Went there for lunch. Loved their French dip sandwich. The bread is not overwhelming and heavy, the meat is incredibly tender. The interior is in such a way where you don't hear conversations from other tables. Definitely a great place . (Happy hour is worth checking out!)

Wonderful decor, does not fall "flat" like the last restaurant in the same space. Relatively new look, brand and menu. I had tuna and salad. The tuna was not the grade I am accustomed to, but editable. The salad was good as well. The ambience and location make it a perfect drink spot, first date or girls lunch. Nice, calm and cozy!

Excellent food and service! The guacamole with the naan bread was terrific- my husband and I ate every last morsel on the plate!! I had the seared jumbo scallops with corn and bacon succotash and it was to die for!! I couldn't stop eating it! My husband had the jerk chicken and vegetables- once again, completely delicious!! Thanks City Fire!! We will definitely be back VERY soon! :)

My husband and I stopped here for lunch after looking for somewhere new to eat. It was just okay. He had the chicken carbonaro. It had way too many onions and they were slivers. Way. Too. Many. I had the scallops. They were just okay as well. The bacon and corn succotash was extremely salty. I don't mind spending money on a good meal but thought this was a little over priced. Probably won't be back.

(3)Nate L.
Great ambiance, friendly staff, terrific menu. We LOVED the chunky guacamole with naan, sauteed spinach with onions, avocado and chickpea salad, and prime rib. Selection of craft beers is small but solid. We'll be back -- maybe tomorrow!
(5)Angela E.
Enjoyed lunch here today. Though I wish they had a lunch menu. Once you add protein to the salad it's a bit pricy for lunch. The French onion soup was good but at a higher price point for what it was. I expected something special for 7.
(4)Virginia V.
Jerk Chicken and crab and shrimp nachos are to die for! The cheddar grits were also a special treat. Service excellent. Our server was very friendly and attentive.
(5)Samma A.
(5)Brian C.

(5)sarah g.
(4)Matthew C.
I ordered the Chicken Carbonara tonight. It came out cold and I sent it back. It came out again and was still cold! Really? The waitress said that the manager would be out to discuss this. He never showed up. She told me I wouldn't be charged - hello!! I didn't have any dinner!!! WTF!
(2)Spencer S.
(5)Bill M.
Excellent food and service. Caesar salad was chilled and tart. Just the way I like it. Hot chicken was good and paired with freshly made coleslaw. My trout was very good. The rest of the menu was interesting. Finally found a place to get a good martini in this town!
(4)Jacob C.
(5)Erica F.
(3)Beth B.
Delicious bacon wrapped shrimp and prime rib tacos. Cocktails spot on as well as the service. Will be coming back soon
(4)Chad R.
(4)Missy R.
Place is nicely decor and old fabrics and old cents from house Nice and sweet people Good wine deals Great happy hour

(3)Jessica T.
I'd recommend it
(5)Laura H.
(4)Christy H.
(4)Bridget S.
What a pleasant surprise. A nice atmosphere, not too loud, and attentive staff. The bacon wrapped shrimp was great and my hubby enjoyed his scallops. We will return. A nice spot in the busy Gulch area.
(4)Hall W.
City Fire is super awesome American dining... but nothing sets it uniquely apart.. just great... not to die for
(4)April F.
(5)Katie B.
(4)Vanessa K.
Love this place! I came for lunch with my husband, we both ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the French Dip sandwich. Sooo good!! I chose the mashed potatoes as my side and they were fantastic. Some of the best I've ever had! I tried to save room for the delicious sounding creme brûlée on the menu - but I didn't quite make it. I'll be back!
(5)Karen L.

(3)Natalie D.
(4)Jesse Z.
Amazing service. The manager checked on us multiple times when our food took a little longer to come out. Offered & provided a complimentary appetizer to apologize. Devin ("with an '-in'") is the best server and I will always request him when coming here. Love me some City Fire!!
(5)Ian R.
Really great food and interesting cocktails. Arriving at happy hour made our experience decidedly more happy. Online reservation system was seamless, if a bit unnecessary for the time we visited.
(5)B S.
(4)Evan S.
Excellent service and excellent food! Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend City Fire for lunch or dinner. Must order the Mac and cheese!
(5)Julie D.
(2)Marie B.
(5)Bridgette C.
(4)Ashley J.
(5)Sheena T.

AWESOME!!!! Went here with a party of 8 for bottomless mimosas and a delicious brunch! BACHELORETTE PARTY!!!!! We had Devin as our waiter and we all loved him!!! He offered us great advice and was so nice and attentive. Very great decision!
(5)Megan M.
Just had the most delicious meal at City Fire! The BBQ bacon shrimp was delicious, the scallops were cooked to perfection and the chocolate bread pudding... OMG. My boyfriend and I loved this place! Our server Nick was very helpful and so nice! We will definitely be back.

(4)Taylor E.

(4)Jacob B.

(5)Andrew J.
(4)Daniel S.
Let me start by saying they have really improved the look and feel of the interior. I would go on to say that this place is a poor man's J. Alexander's, except the prices are higher. Pretty good appetizers and okay entrees, a couple beers/wines and $100 later I wasn't all that impressed.
(3)Sandy L.

(5)Brad P.
I have been here a couple of times and the food has been good on all occasions. The prices are good for the plate sizes and the food has good flavor. Recently, we stopped in for brunch. The Burger and the Crab Cake Oscar were good. The $8 bottomless mimosas made the brunch complete.
(4)Mark H.

(5)Meghan M.
(3)Theresa S.
Great food and service. The waitstaff was very attentive, especially since we were a party of 13 talkative people. The Prime Rib was delicious and the chef made my dinner dairy free. How can you ask for anything more!
(5)Ryan L.
Good food, good service. Didn't blow me away, but solid all around. You won't be disappointed.
(4)Melanie S.

I went in here for a quick meal one evening and had their seared tuna salad as the main dish and shared a dark chocolate crème brûlée with my brother for dessert. The tuna was beautifully seared and deliciously seasoned, as was the rest of the salad. The crème brûlée was absolutely divine. The sweetness was just enough to tone down the bitterness of the cocoa and not overpowering at all. I would travel back to Nashville just for that. The venue itself is a bar and lounge type of setup, but it is a little more upscale on the inside that you would expect by looking from the outside.
(5)Tya P.
(4)Daniel I.
Nice vibe. The rice crusted fish was amazing. The fish tacos were okay - not as much texture or uniqueness to them.
(3)Sarah D.
(4)Laura G.
(4)Seth A.
(5)Richard L.
Pretty awesome. I read the reviews here's the deal this food was awesome. Slight slip up with the bill but no big deal. Door to door awesome! Food and service.
(4)Ashley D.
(5)David B.
(5)Justin R.
Awesome food and terrific service! We split a bottle of Champagne for about $20 and had two tasty entres. The ambience inside is great and it is a perfect date night out in the trendy gulch!
(5)Tammy E.
Recently visited City Fire with my cousin and we enjoyed every minute! I was looking for scallops and Robin & Megan's reviews got us there. She was right! It was wonderful.
(5)Jessica G.
This was the best food i have had in awhile!..the appetizers were amazing..the trout was as great as our WONDERFUL SERVER Jessica said..and the drinks!!..sooo good..total will be back..thank you for a great night out
(5)Marie M.
Went there for lunch. Loved their French dip sandwich. The bread is not overwhelming and heavy, the meat is incredibly tender. The interior is in such a way where you don't hear conversations from other tables. Definitely a great place . (Happy hour is worth checking out!)
(5)Sugar X.
(3)Robin E.
(5)Shannan W.
