Ugh. Not delicious. I ordered their new Thai chicken bagel which was a total mistake. I was the only person in there except for a guy with coffee and a laptop, but my bagel still came out totally burnt from the toaster and missing a key topping (cucumbers). The chicken was processed, too. Not a fan. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but it was not tasty. And it was $7.

Halfway through my Multi-grain bagel and sorry but this is barely worth 2 stars. Firstly my multi-grain bagel is extremely salty and I realize that when dealing with dough you have to add salt. It's part of the chemistry but a multi-grain bagel shouldn't be so salty its only appropriate for a savory experience. I got strawberry cream cheese and the combination is borderline inedible. Secondly its also a turn off that this particular bagel was obviously stored next to the onion bagels or any of the bagels with onion in them. Again, inedible with strawberry cream cheese. Onions and strawberries don't mix.

I don't know why I've never been here but today was my first visit to a Bruegger's Bagel. ever! This was actually kind of exciting for me. For one thing, the experience was super easy- parking garage connected- its free, not really busy, and when I walked in, there wasn't much of a line and the staff were attentive and fast and there was seating when I know everywhere else is bursting at the seams with people. Anyway, they have chai lattes, which are my favorite plus fresh squeezed orange juice, which is also another weakness of mine. There were so many sandwiches that I wanted to try, but I wound up getting a smoked salmon sandwich, which was really tasty plus the fresh squeezed orange juice. I haven't had that in bit so that made me super happy! Anyway, I'm definitely coming back. The table booths/ seating were comfy and cozy. It felt like a warm, friendly atmosphere. I felt at home. And I definitely need to come back to try their other sandwiches like the pastrami sandwich.

I love there bagels for breakfast and brunch ....but I have never tried anything else ...they have soups and sandwiches ...give them a try I highly recommend them ...located near Vanderbilt university!!! Whenever I go here, I have to park on the street with my flashers on...and I worry while I am in there, but I am always getting something to go and they are delightfully fast...so far...NO Problem.. I am definitely going to go back and try this restaurant for lunch. They have so many bagel choices..my personal favorites are ONION, EVERYTHING and Originial...but there are other varieties as well to enjoy... Check them out...grab a bagel, coffee or tea and ENJOY!!!

I agree with the majority of the commenters here... the staff here is HORRIBLE, starting with the Asst. Manager who lets them be as rude as they want. You wonder why all of the restaurants nearby are packed and this one is empty. Don't go.

The breakfast bagels (specifically the Sriracha Egg Sandwich and the Western) are, as my girlfriend and I would say, mediocre at best (3 stars). Onto the problems: Their espresso machine was "broken" and the bathroom was disgusting. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned or tended to in a few weeks. No paper towels, stopped up toilet filled to the brim with poo water, and other things you want to see at a restaurant you just ate breakfast at. Would not visit again.

"It's Brueggers....how bad can it be?" you might ask. While you may be thinking it in your head, their staff is busy taking this as a personal challenge to make you the most disgusting sloppy sandwiches and wilty salads that swim in goopy dressing. The cookies and other baked goods are cement stale, the place is like a zillion degrees and if you are looking for some sort of soup/salad combination, just get a salad because they drowned it in so much dressing it becomes a liquid any how. The only imaginable upside to this place should be the price, but they are tricky here as well. You are pretty much going to pay the same price as you would at Panera. On the plus side, apparently folks have caught on that this place is skeazy, so you won't have a problem finding a seat and the WiFi is free so you can sit and find a new restaurant nearby based on positive Yelp reviews.

2013/016 Disclaimer: I have made my own bagels in the past, only to have native New Yorkers tell me that real bagels are made with New York water. I stopped making them because you really do need the time to boil the bagels before baking them. And I was not about to import NY water, either, just to satisfy the palate of a few transplants. So, I rarely order bagels. Plus, they are "heavy" bread to me and make me full far longer than I want them to. I came into Bruegger's expecting them to be an Einstein's or other bagel place back home. And they certainly seemed like it. They offer both sweet and savory bagels, and sweet or savory cream cheese. They offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches made with bagels (of course). They offer coffee. I made the mistake of ordering a savory bagel (everything) with a sweet cream cheese (Vermont maple). I realized my error when I took a bite with onion bits mixed in with a sweet cream cheese. It was not very good together. That was my mistake. I'm sure separately or with matching cheese, they would be delicious. The place had plenty of seating. And free wifi. Lots of students studying here, since it's right across from campus. The cheap bagels make for a cheap lunch or breakfast, perfect for a student budget. It got busy really quickly during lunch time.

The four stars is mostly for their amazing hazelnut coffee. So, so good. As for the bagels: We had the 'everything bagel' and the jalapeno cheese bagel, both with cream cheese. Both were good and satisfying, but nothing special. I think this place is worth another shot to see what else they have. But mostly, their hazelnut coffee is where it's at!

I am so sad I'm giving this place 3 stars because it's so close to my work. The five years I've worked next to this place, today was my first time during lunch. I got there around 11:45 and it was already busy. The line was pretty slow. I ordered tomato bisque with half chicken salad sandwich. I hate to say it but it's mediocre. It's good but nothing crazy. It didn't make me say wow. Will I come back again? Yes. I'd like to try their other menu items. Maybe I didn't order the right foods.

I had an everything bagel with hummus on the side and a Chai tea. The bagel was good and it surprisingly went well with hummus. I felt a lot healthier too having this combination instead of the usual cream cheese. The Chai tea was bad. It was too sweet. It was pre-made, probably from a package. But it was loaded with sugar, kinda disguating. I definitely would stay away from this drink. Maybe I will give their coffee a try next time.

The service here isn't terrible but the employees are like robots and most refuse to smile. The bagels aren't that great. If you want Brueggers, take the short trip to the store on Harding Pike, that place is the best.

I'm a HUGE Einstein Brothers' Bagel fan and this place was very similar so I was one happy girl! Got my toasted sesame seed bagel with strawberry cream cheese and a mocha latte to start off my day in Nashville. The location was conveniently located downtown and right across from Vanderbilt So the place was hopping all morning. My client enjoyed an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel and we both enjoyed our breakfast here at Brueggers.

Brueggers has the best breakfast bagel sandwiches. The bagels themselves are delicious and they always cook the bacon so that it is crispy, which I really like. For lunch, the grilled cheese with Muenster and cheddar cheese is fantastic! I also really love the broccoli cheddar soup that they have, but they don't seem to have a set soup menu schedule, so I never know when they're going to have it. Also, they used to have a trio option for lunch where you could get a sandwich, soup or salad, and a drinks or a great price. Please bring this back! This was such a great deal for lunch!

A bagel is a sometimes food for me. I am not really a bread guy, but I've get a craving for a bagel, probably because my mother ate them. There's not really any good local places, but there are some decent chains that can handle them. Until Einstein Brothers gets up to Nashvillle from Franklin, Breugger's is about the best in town. Their prices are reasonable, nothing great, but they pay attention to your order, and I know that when I order something, it will come out right. And, as far as Vandy-centric establishments go, it's right there with Chipotle as your safest bet.

I went in to Bruegger's today for a quick lunch. I ordered the smoked salmon bagel sandwich (I'm on a bizarre smoked salmon kick), and it was a little disappointing. The lady taking my order didn't speak loudly enough for me to hear her...at all. The assembly of the sandwich was ridiculous-- I'm a fan of cream cheese, but there was about three times the amount that need to be on the sandwich so that the bagel hole was actually completely filled with cream cheese. The capers were squirted onto the sandwich so that they were really dense in one area and no where to be found on the rest of the sandwich. The red onion on it was from the outer, coarse layer of an onion that I usually throw away because of the texture. The sandwich also took about 6 minutes to construct-- it shouldn't be that challenging. After paying for my sandwich and a bottle of water, it cost about $10.00, which is a little steep for a bagel sandwich. To top it off, after I returned to my car parked in the designated parking garage, I had a $40.00 ticket. I was only parked there for about 10 minutes total so I have no idea what this was for. The parking sitch further frustrated my already negative lunch experience. All in all, if you can walk there, it's a decent option for a quick bagel. Don't try to branch out into their other menu offerings.

My favorite thing about this place is that you can park in the garage for the building. I've never had a problem in there and unlike all the other restaurants in this area. I'm also in love with their Sun Dried Tomato bagels. They. Are. So. Yummy. Their bagels are different than, say Panera. They aren't greasy, but they kind of look it. They're savory as well. I like.

Bruegger's Bagels is a great spot to grab a quick snack between classes. Located directly behind the Vanderbilt library it has saved me from going into a lack of food coma many a times. I don't think there is anything particularly unique about this bagel shop, but I can say that all of their bagels and spreads are always fresh and quite tasty. The do have a great variety of cream cheese options that taste just fantastic on a toasted bagel. If you aren't parked on campus already, however, trying to head to Bruegger's can be annoying since your only options are to either park on the street that never has any open spots of in the parking garage that has very few public non pay spots. Bruegger's is also a great spot to do some studying and people watch!

I must say, the bagels at Bruegger's are something I look forward to in the mornings when I am up early enough to grab breakfast before work. They do a great job of making a bagel that is chewy, but not too doughy. Of course no bagel is complete without crème cheese and Bruegger's has around ten different types to choose from. I recommend the bacon scallion because it both delicious and satisfying when your starving and in a hurry. You must plan accordingly if you desire a bagel before work because it is located right next to Vanderbilt, thus it is usually over run by college kids in the mornings, so there can be a bit of a wait.

I was torn between giving 3 and 4 stars. I give them 4 because I like their bagels, and the amount of options... and during the fall, you get to have pumpkin cream cheese, pumpkin spice coffee, and baked apple bagels.. and they also sell day old bagels for $2.50 a pack (which has around 6 bagels in a pack). I want to give them 3 because the service - well, lets just say they tend to have high school students or people who generally don't care about their job running the counter... And this goes for all the locations, not just the one on 21st. I also noticed, and maybe this was just a fluke, but their basket of day old bagels - well, 3 or 4 of the bags were ripped open and falling out into the basket, so I could only grab one of the bags that wasn't torn. And I've also had better coffee (granted I can't expect amazing coffee from a chain) So yeah I guess I'm a little picky, but hey I did outweigh the options and go for 4 stars, so at least I was nice.

The wife and I met a friend in town for a convention for an early breakfast this morning... We don't get downtown much (shame on us), but easily found the place and parked.. They have a good amount of street parking nearby, making parking relatively easy... It was early on a saturday morning, so I'm sure that worked to our advantage. This was our first time at a Bruegger's, the attentive and friendly staff helped describe their favorites and what they thought we may like. We ended up keeping it relatively light with a couple sausage and cheese bagel sandwiches. I had it on a wheat bagel; the bagel was pretty good... I'm not a fan of the large piece of the wheat and other grains in my bagel; but this one was done well, not too much and it had a good texture. The sausage was good, had a little spice to keep it from being bland. The service was great, we sat and chatted for about an hour without interruption and were able to enjoy ourselves as they place was pretty quiet. Next time we see one, we will swing by as there are some other bagels i'd like to try.

A decent place for a quickie breakfast and coffee in the morning but otherwise a standard bagel chain for lunch or snacks. Located across from Vanderbilt's campus makes Bruegger's a hot commodity. For 200 calories, any bagel is basically cut in thirds where you, the customer get the top and bottom while the middle is thrown away or given to you to share with a friend. I love Brueggers. They are my favorite bagels. This location was packed on a Sunday morning with college students hung-over from the night before. The staff kept the line moving quickly though. The everything bagel and veggie cream cheese were perfect!

Great option for a quick, simple breakfast or lunch. As a student I've eaten here many times over the years and the service is always friendly. It's right next to campus so a lot busier during the school year than in the summer. My faves are the chicken spaetzle soup and cinnamon raisin bagels. Muffins are good, too.

Apparently, Bruegger's is a national chain. This is a fact of which (until recently) I was not aware. However, due to a lack of complete saturation by Bruegger's and the fact that I (and several of my friends) had never heard of the place before, I figure a brief review couldn't hurt. This place is pretty tasty. Their soups are delicious and their sandwiches are unique and typically great. Last time I stopped in, I ordered an "Herby Turkey" and was swiftly informed that they were out of turkey breast. This was a little disappointing, but my meal was still good. They make your food for you while you wait, and the staff seems to be mostly nice. It's very clean and service is quick; it's a bit like a smaller Panera Bread. It's in a prime location, though it's likely you'll find yourself amidst a swarm of WASPy Vandy students. Regardless, it's relatively inexpensive and a good spot for a quick lunch. I recommend it.

I visit every time Im looking for a good bagel(at least twice a week) and have NEVER had a bad meal there. I've always been treated quite nice and the staff, when asked, have always provided excellent advice on what to do with "home baking". I definitely recommend a visit.
