About Taco Bell
Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.
The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.
Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Maybe Nashvillians don't have much to compare it to, but I was really unimpressed by Bella. My hopes were high, I'd heard the hype, I came hungry... but the spark just wasn't there. It was very expensive, and very salty. These, shockingly, are not are the top of my "necessary pizza attributes" list. (I'll let you decide whether that's a real list or not.) It's not bad, and they made it extra crispy for me, [thanks, dudes!] but it's ain't worth the price. I had the special. It was not. There was some bland squash, some lemon-y flavor, some salty cheese, and a lot of chewing to be done. People who's food decrees I deeply respect are regular patrons of Bella, so if they say it's good, maybe I ordered wrong. I'm not opposed to giving it another shot, but right now I need space. Time heals all, and I'm sure my insatiable hankering for interesting pizza will get the best of me soon. (Did I hear hummus pizza...?)

I love this place. A LOT. Every time my honey bear plays a game in Bicentennial Mall, I head over to Bella Nashville. Side note, he's a vintage base ball player on the Nashville Maroons, and if you haven't already, you need to check out a game. I always get an egg on my pizza. I tried it once, and can't go back. One because now it's a breakfast pizza, and two because it's so delicious to dip your slice into the yolk. The eggs are FRESH! Do it, try it, you won't regret it. Hands down, Bella Nashville is my favorite vendor in the Farmers' Market, and might be my favorite pizza in Nashville. It's definitely in my top two.

I'm constantly on the quest for delicious pizza. As a native New Yorker, of course New York style pizza is my favorite, but I've come to the conclusion that true NY style pizza does not really exist in Nashville (with 5 Points Pizza being the closest thing). This means I have to branch out and learn to love different styles of Pizza. Lucky for me, Bella Nashville makes amazing wood oven pizzas, similar to what I had in Italy. Located inside the Farmer's Market on Rosa Parks Blvd., Bella Nashville provides a very casual dining environment. Steve and I went on a Saturday and the place was packed! Once you order, you wait for your name to be called, which was about 20-30 minutes (for fresh pizza that's acceptable to me). We grabbed a seat at their eat-in bar and waited our turn. Bella Nashville offers fresh sodas with house-made syrup. We ordered the lemon soda with basil and the orange soda with mint. This was the perfectly refreshing on a hot day and a great compliment to the pizza. All the pizzas at Bella Nashville are personal size, so we decided to order two and split them. The first one we ordered was the Meat Pizza, with thin sliced country ham, mozzarella, crushed tomatoes and basil. This is a very simple pie, and done very well. The ham itself had a really nice flavor and provided a good dash of salt. The dough was cooked well in the wood oven, leaving the beautiful tell-tale charred marks around the edge. For our second pizza we went for the daily special: the spring chicken. It contained honey-lemon local chicken, chard, roasted green garlic, aged Gouda and sheep's milk cheese. Holy Hell this was amazing! I have to say that my favorite part was the blasts of flavor I got when biting into a spot of that roasted green garlic. I really like Bella Nashville's overall vibe. All their ingredients are super fresh, as any restaurant located in a Farmer's Market should be. The staff was friendly and the pizza was tasty. What more can you want for a summer lunch?

Wow!! There are lots of components that make up a good pizza; there's sauce, crust, quality of toppings, size, etc. To the naked eye, this pizza looks fairly simple with minimal toppings, but dig in my friend and take a trip to heaven. I loved EVERY bit of it. The pie will easily serve 3 for a quick bite, and is way more than enough for two. I keep telling myself to only eat half and save the rest for later... but it never works out that way. The first thing you need to do is get the Dominos, Pizza Hut, Sir Pizza, Ceaser's Pizza, etc. out of your head... THIS IS NOTHING LIKE THAT!! Bella's crust bubbles up with an occasional char here and there (it truly adds to the fantastic flavor). the sauce is rich and deep and flavorful with all those wonderful herbs that have been simmering on the stove for hours. Hunks of mozzerella placed just right. And basil leaves exploding with yummyness. They have a rotating weekly special that you can find out about on facebook. If Yelp had more stars than 5 stars, I'd give 'em. One request though...Please Bella Nashville; please open a place up in Bellevue.
(5)Crawford L.
This a family business run by hard-working, pleasant people who know many of their customers by name. They get most of their produce from local farms, and they make everything from scratch. None of this would matter if the pizza wasn't good, but it is SO DAMN GOOD. Vegetarians should go for the hummus pizza, which is the best vegetarian item in the farmer's market (sorry, Jamaicaway).
(5)Nathan W.
I am a big fan of the Farmers Market. Even though many of the booths do not actually represent local farmers, the general vibe is always great and the food court is exceptional. Yes, I just said a food court was exceptional. In the last year three amazing pizza places have opened in Nashville. Five Points Pizza, NY Pie and now Bella Nashville. Lets forget for a moment that the name is a little hokey and just revel in the fact that of the three, this one might actually be the best. Is it possible that the best pizza in the whole city has found its way to a 11am to 3pm sort-of farmers market? Is it possible that it landed in a food court? I say yes, it isn't just possible it's a fact. Tucked away in a corner, next to some truly amazing seafood, sits Bella Nashville. Don't come here expecting to order your usual Pepperoni pie. If it's on the menu then I guess you lucked out, but otherwise you are at the mercy of their seasonal menu. Featuring some remarkably fresh veggies and some local meats, they are making flavor combinations on pizza I have never had before. There are some items for the traditionalists in our mix. A Margherita pizza that puts the one at City House on notice (see my review of that heavenly pizza for a better understanding of what I am speaking of). They also make fresh breads three days a week. I can't wait to try one of those. Here is the short and skinny of it. Go here. Eat pizza. Be happy. If this place doesn't survive and thrive it's on you people, not me. I doubt I have to worry.
(4)Katie S.
i loved it! The farmers market is so hard to decide where to eat and I am glad I chose Bella Nashville. I had the Margarita (although the hummus was interesting). It was almost as good at the Mario Batali restaurants I have been to in LA and NY - that is saying a lot! I will be back.
(4)Asher B.
Very good and fresh pizza. Went here for the first time for lunch with a collegue at work. I ordered the month special and had to wait for approx 20 mins owing to it being lunch time on a week day. The pizza came and I gobbled it down. The meat was seasoned and cooked well and so was the sauce on my pizza. They have a wood fired oven which gives their pizza a distinct flavor and if you'd like you could sit around their counter and watch them make the pizza from scratch. Loved it, would go back again.
(4)Brian B.
Bella Nashville seems like a good place for my 1000th review on Yelp. I didn't get to fully enjoy the pizza, as I wasn't feeling well, but i still thoroughly enjoyed the couple pieces of margherita that I tasted. The meat looked even better. They make all their ingredients fresh, and then cook it in a big wood-fired oven right in front of you. The staff is pretty friendly. They need a better notification system than just yelling and hoping you're standing nearby when you pie is done.
(5)Kimberly S.
Bella Nashville is (almost) always great! I highly recommend their Margarita or Hummus pizza. Most all of their specialty pizzas are very good. I have had a few misses on these though. I personally find the crust to be a bit "sourdoughy," but it is always a perfect consistency. The pizza is a bit expensive, hence the four instead of five stars.
(4)Melissa M.
We had margarita pizza at the farmers market. I was shocked to see there was a wood oven right there - very cool! They have a few choices for pizza and you can add additional toppings if you want. There's a cute "bar" you can sit at and watch the guys and gals cook. Try the housemade soda - I had lemon basil. Delish!
(5)Tim S.
The product here is good enough to deserve it's own stand alone restaurant, but for reasons I can't guess at it's tucked away in a somewhat cramped corner of the Farmer's Market building. Bella cooks a very respectable pizza in a wood fired oven right on front of you. Affordable too; aside from a couple of specialty signature pies, every pizza on the menu is ten bucks and under. The sauce is some simple, no frills crushed tomatoes with hints of garlic, but nothing to eclipse the flavor of the fresh, fantastic tomatoes themselves. Cheese appears to be respectable domestic mozzarella. The basil is cut from their glass jar herb garden on demand. All this together makes for a great tasting pizza. The list of sides was short but attractive, however I didn't try them; the lemon soda is from sparkling water and lemon flavoring made fresh in the store daily, and it's pretty damn nice. The service is friendly enough, although be prepared to wait a good fifteen minutes as they obviously make each pizza fresh.
(4)Brittany F.
Best pizza in Nashville, hands down. I always get the margherita pizza with added roasted garlic and the lemon soda and I've never been let down. The pizza is always perfect cooked and I'm usually not a big eater but I take down this entire pizza, crust and all. It's fun to watch them build your pizza from dough up. And the lemon soda....I could live on this drink alone. It's an amazingly refreshing carbonated lemon drink with fresh basil in it. Everything about this place is amazing!
(5)Billy H.
I was at the Nashville Farmers Market and decided to get some lunch. Usually there's always a line at Bella. This time there wasn't so I decided to jump at the opportunity. You order at the side of the little stand. I ordered the "meat" pizza for 10 bucks. The meat pizza is a thin crust pizza with thinly shaved country ham, basil, mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce. There wasn't much of line but I guess they had a order back up. I was told it would be about 15-20 minutes. It ended up being 15 minutes, not bad for a great pizza. They've got a huge wood-burning brick oven where the pizzas are made. The meat pizza is cooked with just the sauce and cheese, then the thinly shaved country ham and basil is placed on the pizza. The pizza is large, I'm not sure of the inchage, but it's big. However it's very thin, thin crust, light sauce, light cheese. I had no issue finishing the whole pizza by myself. It tastes very fresh, I'd like a little more cheese, but I love cheese. If you're in the market and looking for a great meal, Bella is where it's at.
(4)Susy S.
Staying in the neighborhood and decided to check out the farmers market for lunch. Best decision I made. I had the meatball pizza and is was fantastic Loaded with sliced meatballs and Parmesan was grated on as it came out of the oven. Loved the lightly burned crust. It gave it another depth of flavor. I had the orange soda while I watched them baking my pizza and it was very refreshing and delicious. Only 3 more days left in Nashville but I'll be back before I leave.
(5)Janet S.
Yes it is seriously good, had a last minute margarita 20 mins before they closed no line, no fuss, no capers...I have to have capers. Pablo says best pizza in Nashville. I think for sure it's close, the bloomy rind cheese quality deffo takes it up a notch...super friendly, but oh I needed my capers and that pesky indian market did not have them. $9 a bargain but next time I will splurge and put too soft eggs on top for luxury and extra moistness.
(4)Dagan B.
The pizza was good I would have choosen a different one but I was sharing. If hungry one is good for one person. We got the one with country ham on it which was very salty but hey its country ham. The crust, cheese and sauce were top notch. The toppings were plenty it just wasnt my favorite. The orange soda tasted more like juice than soda. It was good but I was expecting more of a fizz..
(4)Joanna L.
My friends have raved about this place and they were really excited to go there today after church. I ordered the Margherita pizza and the English Breakfast Black Tea. I was slightly disappointed by my pizza because it was super salty. Everything else about it was great, the crust and all but the extreme saltiness was a bit of a downer. Staff was extremely friendly and service took only about 10 minutes, so I think I'd give it another try or try a different pizza.
(3)Vickie Y.
Great idea, but poorly implemented. I love wood fire pizza! It is a true treat, but Bella gets their ovens way too hot and burns the crust. Their response was it is suppose to be that way. I am no expert, yet I have never had it like that. I do not think I will be visiting them again
(3)Carolyn B.
Stopped in here Saturday morning for a snack. They make their own lemon and orange sodas, and I can verify that the lemon one is quite delicious. Me and the man split the MEAT personal pizza (9") as a snack, made with lots of local ingredients. No regrets. I'd stop back here for sure!
(4)Hai G.
Great wood-oven pizza. You're definitely getting more than your money's worth. The staff is friendly and obviously have a passion for making delicious pizzas. I highly recommend this place. The margherita pizza is absolutely fantastic. The pizzas are the perfect individual size, so you'll be full as well.
(5)Anna J.
The pizza is so fresh and made right in front of you! Add a farm egg to your pizza, it's the best, you won't regret it! I also love the burnt taste of the crust, adds a unique flavor. The basil lemon soda was amazing, tart, bubbly, and not too sweet, just how I like it. My only complaint is the basket they serve the pizza in had a terrible smell (probably from being used over and over again, without washing or cleaning). I had to take my pizza out immediately and toss the basket aside.
(4)Jan A.
I'm a pizza addict and you guys are the Walter White of pizza craftsmanship. Awesome stuff. Tight! Tight! Tight!
(5)Sayumporn B.
One of the best pizza in Nashville. I've been here a few times and never disappointed. Their dough are different than other pizza places. It's lighter which create charred and air pockets in the crust area. The minus is limited options in the regular menu. They only have 4-5 items in their regular menu. I usually check out their special on Facebook or Twitter before I go.
(4)Kristen D.
Friendly service excellent fresh pizza. We ate at the pizza bar and enjoyed watching the stone oven and pizzas cooking. Would definitely recommend it. We enjoyed walking around beautiful bicentennial state park after! It's right across the street.
(5)Sarah D.
Bella Nashville has excellent pizzas, made right in front of you! They make each pizza by itself in the pizza oven, so it does take a little while when the market is busy. I love that it is in the Downtown Nashville Farmers market also. The specialty pizzas are the ones to order! They had a Peaches N' Cream Pizza last week featuring The Peach Truck's pizza, and it was DIVINE. Also, you can never go wrong with their Margherita pizza. YUM!
(5)Emily Myles H.
Pizza is pretty tasty! Located in the farmers market. Everything is fresh, local and made-to-order. I liked being able to see them make it and pop it into the brick oven to see it come out 5-10 mins later. It is a very light pizza, sauce and cheese wise. A few more options would be nice to see!

Had the margherita pizza...first-time experience at Bella Nashville...and the ingredients were fresh; the pizza was light; it was delicious! Also decided on the lemon soda after reading some reviews, and I'm glad I took the advice! I will be back...there are other delicious pizzas I want to try!

There's no shame in my game: I eat lunch at Bella Nashville at least once a month. It's typically my only lunch not spent at my desk, and I keep going back. I don't care for their tea options, but that's because I prefer cold tea to be sweet. Instead, I get their (free) filtered water and either the Margherita pizza or their special, which they Facebook and tweet at the start of the week. Last week, it included ramps, which I'd never had before. Service is slow, but you can see why: They make the pizza right in front of you in their wood oven. I like sitting at the counter and pretending to read my book or look at my phone while instead I eavesdrop on the cooks. In the winter, the sweet spot is dead center at the counter, across from the warm oven. Their pizza crust is delicious -- I haven't made it to their bakery in East Nashville, but the pizza tells me they have skills -- and I love a wood-oven pizza. Because it's so thin and light (how often can you describe pizza as light?), I can eat a whole personal pizza in one sitting and not feel stuffed. Their payment system remembers your credit card so you don't have to carry a frequent patron card. Once you purchase 10 pizzas, you get a free pie.

I don't care how long the wait is, this is the best pizza in nashville. I've had a lot of pizza but this is the best. They make the best crust, sauce, use the best cheese and meats and they make the best soda from scratch. There is no beating the flavor from a wood fired stone oven. A must eat.
(5)Andrew H.
While visiting friends, they took me to Bella for lunch. The fresh ingredients from the market truly make this a gem in the city. I can't wait to get back to try a new pizza.

Bella Nashville trumps DeSano any day of the week for me. I've eaten at Bella Nashville twice now and both times were well worth the wait! The last time I went was during night market and they had a 40 minute wait. My sister and I ordered as soon as we got there so we had plenty of time to wander around while our pizza was being made. We both ordered the Margherita pizza with roasted garlic. I also ordered an iced tea. I wasn't a fan of the tea but I don't hold that against them! It had mint in it and I don't like mint. Both items cost $13 total. It's not a huge pizza but I can only eat 2 slices before I get too full. Luckily, my sister and brother in law helped me eat the pieces I couldn't. The girl taking the order was friendly and warned us before we ordered that it would take the 40 minutes I mentioned before. It took about exactly 40 minutes too. They call your name and put the pizza down at the end of the counter. You can either eat and watch them make the pizzas if you can find a spot or you can eat in the middle of the food court area. Like I said, well worth the wait!

Local, fresh, unique pizza. How can you go wrong this? Their wood fire oven is made to get your personal pizza out in minutes and their daily specials are out of this world. The owners are the nicest and enthusiastic about what they do. This review may be short, but that's because I don't need to build them up. One visit and you'll love them, too.
(5)Rebecca B.
I think this is the best pizza in Nashville. I have been back 3 times in the last week. Wish they were open at night!!
(5)Matt W.
Really good pizza in an unexpected place. I recommend adding truffle oil--it's incredible
(4)Jacob M.
Bella Nashville's menu has found a home inside my glovebox. The wood-fired stone oven gives the pizza a taste like none other. Adding to that taste is the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Because of the individual sizing of the pizzas and the size of the oven, you can expect a longer waiting time than you might initially expect with fast-casual pizza. There is plenty of seating in the area, however, so you'll have no problem finding a place to enjoy your food. It's the perfect spot for taking an extended lunch break!
(5)Ann W.
Pizza for breakfast? Why not? We were looking for biscuits, or eggs, or something like that, but the wood-fired oven drew us in. Zim had the hummus pizza - fresh baked crust, hummus, sprinkling of spices, and a drizzle of olive oil made for a, spicy, lovely, healthy-ish meal. I had the pizza margherita. Have you ever been to Italy? And ordered a pizza Margherita? Well, it was like that. Perfect. We sat at the "bar" which allowed us to watch them make and bake the pizzas. They are created with care and roasted in a real wood oven. Zim said it might be his favorite pizza in Nashville. I might agree.

Love the old fashioned brick oven and wood fire. Makes the pizza taste amazing. Definitely worth it in my books

"Sustainable Food = Delicious Food!" (I pulled this off the Bella Nashville menu) This newly opened eatery located in the Nashville Farmer's Market makes an extraordinary pie by combining locally sourced and handmade ingredients with real Italian bravado and methods. Did I mention the wood fired oven is made from imported clay and fires up to 900 degrees which means that regardless of the winding lines, your personal pizza (9") is ready to be devoured within minutes! I literally fell head over heels in love over the thoughtful vegan options that include the Marinara ($7) which includes tomatoes, oregano, and truffle oil. I opted for the Hummus on my first visit. This delightful pizza was the perfect crisp and bursting with flavor that included hummus, zatar, toasted nuts, and mint & chili oil all for a very affordable $8. Throw in some Iced Yerba Mate tea ($2) and I was a very satisfied gal. My lunch dates ordered up the Meat Pizza with Benton's Country Ham ($9) and the Margherita ($8) and were both pleased with their selections too. Add in the husband and wife duo owners who were charming and clearly passionate about their venture and a dynamic staff to support. This business is a fantastic addition to the locavore movement. I'll be a regular most definitely! TIP: They sell fresh loaves of bread for $5!

A casual lunch visit to the Farmer's Market today had me completely surprised to find a new pizza proprietor. Even more shocking was that it happened to be wood fired oven pizza. How did this new super secret stealth pizza spot slip under my radar? That still remains a mystery but as a fanatic of any wood fired / neapolitan style pizza I was compelled to try it out. Less than 10 minutes after my order (which was paid for via square on a iPad) I had a fresh pizza right out of the oven on a plate in front of me. I ordered the meat pizza which for all intents and purposes seems to be a margherita pizza but with one glorious addition: Benton's country ham. Any serious meat enthusiast is probably already sold but in case you don't know by now Benton's is pretty much the grandaddy of all smoked swine. The salty salty salty (salty^3) paper thin ham was a great addition the array of flavors already present in the basil, mozzarella, and tomato. Add in the crust with just the right amount of charred crispy goodness and it was probably the best thing I've ever experienced from a vendor at the Farmer's Market. The only negative I will say is that the center of the crust was a little poofier than I am accustomed to with other neopolitan places here in town like Bella Napoli or Porta Via. Also the sauce was tangier than I usually prefer but I like my sauce a bit on the sweet side so this was actually kind of a welcome change. The personal size wasn't overly enormous and sized more appropriate for consumption by single person as a lunch portion. That was also reflected in the price as it was about $2-$3 less than the cheapest personal pizzas I have seen at the competition. I've never received such quick service and convenience at the other places though so in terms of price to value to convenience this place is pretty much off the charts. I don't see myself going anywhere else in the Farmer's Market any time soon. In fact I think I will probably coming back to the Farmer's Market more often now because of this place.

Pizza was great. But after watching the attitude of the male pizza maker during his shift and while he made my pizza, I was seriously turned off and almost opted to take a table away from the pizza bar so I wouldn't have to feel the tension he was projecting. He constantly barked orders at his co workers and announced in very annoyed tone that my "pizza special" was "the last one he would make all day." Not how I wanted to spend my lunch. Tated great. Love the charred crust. Great detail work. Lose the "I'm too good to be here guy" though. Just sayin...

Hmm...pizza? I like it, but I don't LOVE it. But, I'm always game to try a new thing. And, I'll give a good pie it's due, if deserved. I chose to check out Night Market last Friday. It was a pleasant event (could have used more live music, for a longer time, though.) But, I digress. At the Farmers' Market, there are plenty of choices to make (more reviews later!) This night, I chose Bella Nashville based on a few friends' comments. Odd for me, it was encouraging to see the long line. That many people can't be wrong! Right? First off: there's not much selection to choose from. MAYBE, three different types of pizza. I chose the Meat pizza (country ham, to be specific). But, I can appreciate the craft and focus on doing a few things very well. Their three types of tea were all "meh" IMHO (They happily offer complimentary "sips"), so I passed and took ice water. Not a long wait at all, and I had my pizza: Pluses: - good thin crust! Light, airy and crisp! - generous portion of fresh meat. Nice! - good size (9") Minuses: - flecks of black char on the crust (Some like this. Not me). - bland flavor of cheese. I wanted that rockin' burst of flavors, but I just didn't find it this night. An off night? Mine? Theirs? Perhaps. The search continues...

I love the pizza here. I love the flavors and fresh ingredients. My wife and I stop by every weekend we're not out of town. Plenty of choices for vegetarians too.
(5)Erica H.
Bella Nashville Pizza is always my go to at the farmers market. It is a little pricey, but in my opinion it's worth it. They source the toppings locally, and the pizzas are all made to order in an awesome wood-fired oven. I love the variety, especially the hummus pizza. I've never had anything like it before, and I love it. Plus, I think the people there are really nice. :)
(4)Stephanie E.
No matter how busy they get, these guys deliver. I love to go in and tell Dave to just make me whatever he deems good. He never stops surprising me with creative pizzas he's made from in season local products. Apple Butter pie to spicy pimento cheese arugula, he always puts something in front of me that I have never had and is earth-shatteringly good. Go to this restaurant and you won't just be supporting local business but you be supporting THE ARTS!

Pizza: LOVED IT! I ordered the margherita. The crust is incredible: doughy and wood-fired. Yum. The pizza sauce was also delicious. My bf and I couldn't figure out what made it so good, but it went perfectly with the crust and cheese. The fresh mozzarella was also wonderful. You might want to be more adventurous than me about which pizza to order, but you should definitely get one! Soda: AMAZING!!! I don't like sodas, so I don't even want to call these drinks that. Also, I don't think they are carbonated. I ordered the orange one, and it tasted like fresh-squeezed orange juice. I'm from Florida, so I'm very particular about orange juice. This surpassed my expectations. My bf ordered the lemon one, and got a second one. He favored that one. It was also great. You should probably order both, so you can decide which one is your favorite. Or, maybe you could ask for a taste of both before deciding. YOU MUST TRY IT!

This place was just okay. We were waiting for the Nash Trash tour so decided to grab a bite at this place since it was lighter than the rest of the food places nearby. We got a meat pizza and a hummus pizza. Meat pizza wasn't that great, but the hummus pizza was okay. The pizza is soggy...it needs to be cooked longer. I do not recommend this place.

Went to the Farmer's Market based on a coworker's recommendation and stumbled across this place at the back corner. Staff couldn't have been nicer/more helpful, and the pizza was great; we ge the Margherita. I was a little concerned that it might take a while, but came out pretty quick. Neat that you can see the pizza oven as you walk by.

I have a hard time choosing B.N. or DeSano as my favorite local pizza. They're both fantastic. I'd probably give Bella Nashville the nod, since you can sit and watch them make the pies, and the staff are always friendly (albeit busy). And you can eat an entire pizza and not a: spend a lot, or b: feel like a glutton. The special is almost always something I want to eat, and I don't think I've ever seen the same special after 8-10 visits.

This is my go-to spot for Saturday lunch, and honestly, probably my favorite thing to eat in Nashville. They take what they do seriously and put a lot of thought into every aspect of what they produce, rather than relying on the fact that are in the Farmer's Market, and therefore will receive a certain amount of default business. In other words, they're doing it properly, and for the right reasons.. The dough is, of course, paramount to any good pizza, and is exceptional here - just the perfect amount of gluten elasticity. Each pizza is fired for only 90 seconds or so to achieve this. Everything on top of the dough is also top quality. I'll typically get whatever special they have that day - I've never been disappointed with this decision, and, on the contrary, usually delighted by fantastically creative pies they come up with. The local Benton's ham they use (in lieu of prosciutto) is awesome, and adding truffle oil adds a layer of depth that is out of this world. On top of all of this, Emma and Dave (and the other two that work there) are exceedingly humble and friendly, as well as passionate about what they do. I cannot recommend this place enough..

Overall: Really, what's not to like? The ingredients are uber fresh & local, the employees are nice and the service is fast! Food/Drink: The margharita pizza - fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil & a drizzle of olive oil. It's all baked up in minutes in a wood-fire oven. The flavors and just so perfect, and the crust is chewy with little bits of charred parts for extra flavor - love! My fiance ordered the meat version, it's the margharita plus Benton's ham. The drinks are a big plus also... orange or lemon (housemade) syrup combined with seltzer water with a sprig of basil. It puts all other forms of pop (which I don't drink, for the record) to shame! Refreshing without being overly sweet. Cost: The margharita ($8), the meat ($9) & 2 drinks ($2/piece) plus a tip was about $24. To me, worth every penny! Tip: There's a smaller size for kids & if you're a vegetarian or vegan, there are choices for you, too!
(5)Josh R.
The pizza tastes very good, but the price to me was a huge problem. I ordered a meat pizza and one of their sodas (the orange) and the total came out to $12. Then the receipt made it seem like a tip was mandatory so I gave the lowest amount listed which made it come out to $14. $14 for lunch is way too much, especially since the pizza wasn't filling. It's very thin, and 3-4 hours later I was already feeling hungry again; I'd say it was about as filling as a Totino's crisp crust pizza. Also they need to have more meat options. Out of the 5 or so pizza choices, only one of them has meat (the "meat" pizza). But overall, if you're a big fan of wood-fired pizza and you're willing to pay $14 for a (slightly less than) single serving, go for it! I'll stick to more reasonable options at the Farmers Market myself.

Had the hummus and margharita pizza. Both were unique and very good. The dough was very good. Enjoyed them both very much.
(4)Joey K.
A nice surprise considering that it's located in a food court! I love watching them make my pizza and it was fabulous, the only possible negative is that it did have a little char but that only makes it interesting! I love this so much I got a second pizza! The only downside, if any, is that they don't offer regular cokes, instead they offer their own lemon/orange sodas. I tried out the lemon soda and it was really good but at that day I really wanted some plain old Coke Zero but I'm not going to downgrade them for that.
(5)Crawmama C.
The toppings were great, but the char on the crust was a little much for me. I like the charred-ness of DeSano's crust, so I'm not totally against it completely, but it overwhelmed the other flavors of Bella Nashville's pizza when I tried it. But, this seems to be right up some other people's alleys, so if you're a lots-of-char lover, this pizza is for you.
(3)Amy C.
Freakin' AWESOME...enough said! Tried the Hummus and Hot Chicken Pizza. The Hummus pizza is a great option for vegetarian eaters...it's drizzled in a chili oil, a generous helping of hummus spread in a thin layer over the crust, then sprinkled with toasted nuts and mint leaves. A "no cheese" pizza that is truly wonderful! The Hot Chicken pizza on the other hand, was the polar opposite. First, is was on their special menu, which changes daily. The chef said it was a pizza that celebrates pepper season. The chicken is marinated with habanero peppers, the pizza is then topped with a poblano pepper sauce (amazing!), cherry bomb, hot banana, jalapeno and cayenne peppers. Ok, so I know by now you're thinking this is WAY to hot for me...but you would be wrong! The peppers provide more flavor than heat...the heat that does come through is quickly extinguished by the queso fresco cheese and crème fraiche that tops the whole pie off. A true masterpiece!
(5)Devin P.
just left, and again the consistency is superb! I tried the "meat" pizza and a homemade orange soda!
(5)Kendyl S.
Yum! Stopped in to the Farmers Market for lunch today, specifically to try Bella Pizza! I had the special, which was Bacon and beets. Minus the bacon. I believe it was all golden and red beets, beet greens, garlic, goat cheese, and crema fresca! I like it, I like it a lot! I got mine to go, as well as a lemon soda, which was tart and bubbly and so refreshing on a hot day! They had a few tea flavors and I think maybe 5 pizzas with a rotating special, I really want to go back and try the hummus. And the Margherita. And whatever the specials become, I want it all. The only thing that I didnt love was something about the crust, Im a big crust fan and I thought it tasted a bit, sour maybe? I dont even know, just a peculiar flavor in my mouth. Not so bad I didnt scarf down a whole pizza though!
(4)Jared S.
Fresh ingredients at their best. And to those Portlandia fans out there-- YES, it's all local. Possibly the most satisfying brick oven pizza I've consumed in my 24 years of breathing on this planet. I savored the goodness of the hot pepper and creme fraiche pizza. Such a wonderful medley of creamy and spicy. I loved the ever-so-slightly charred thin crust. Job well done. I must add that the customer service was incredible. The cashier was as smiley as they come and clearly passionate about her job. I witnessed her impeccable tolerance for a rude customer, and she deserves a gold star. The pizza maker was also friendly, and was happy to answer our questions, which he's probably been asked a gazillon times.
(5)Jill A.
Not just vegetarian-friendly but vegetarian-awesome. I love that the Special Pizza changes with the seasons (since they use only awesome local, fresh, seasonal stuff), but they also offer a veggie option for this pizza. My hubbins loves char, and delicious char he gets! Brick oven is the way to go.
(5)Tnvd C.
Not only are Dave and Emma the most awesome and generous folks I know, they also make a bomb-diggity pizza! You don't understand the complexity of what pizza truly should be until you have eaten one of their pies. Every tasty note is accounted for in beautiful simplicity. Eating the hummus-pizza for the first time brought tears to my eyes. Right down to the olive oil: nothing but the best ingredients. Absolutely. Teaming up with local farmers for their ingredients, milling their finest flour in-house, and "home-making" their mozzarella: this pizza is a work of art for your tastebuds. You get what you pay for, if only all food could be this way. Not just limited to pizza, the housemade maté and natural sodas are FANTASTIC! They might be busy, but it is absolutely worth the wait!
(5)Alex G.
Genuinely surprised by the love for this place. I've been here twice now and both times have been average-to-above average. I'd eat there again, but am in absolutely no rush to go back. The pizza is tasty, but nothing special and given the choice I'd prefer to spend my money elsewhere. DeSano's, for instance, has much better pies (admittedly of a non-Neapolitan style). That said, I do love the oven, being able to watch your pizza being made, and the fresh, local ingredients used. If I could, I'd give it 3.5 stars, but since I have to decide between 3 and 4, I just don't think it's a 4-star place. Maybe I'm just more picky about my pizza having eaten some of the country's best pies from all over the country, but I regularly seem to disagree with most Yelpers here about the quality of Nashville's pizza.
(3)Rebecca B.
Bella Nashville makes a pretty decent pie. I ordered the margherita and I appreciate that they incorporate fresh and seasonal ingredients. At first I thought the 9" personal size would be too much food but I ate 3 out of 4 slices. The service was good and my pizza was ready pretty quickly, especially considering it was made to order. I'm happy to have an option like this at the Farmers Market and I hope that this trend of high quality vendors continues there. Will DEFINITELY go back.
(4)Sara L.
So I've been known to make my own pizza, and I believe my dough (dough being the necessary foundation to any good pizza) is pretty darn good. What I can't do, as a home cook, is get a hot enough oven to get the char and blisters in the crust that are so wonderful. However, since most places make lousy dough and crust, my not so hot oven can compete. Not the case at Bella Nashville--their crust was fabulous, and combined with the wood fired oven, it made for a great base for the toppings. I went with margherita (because if you can't do the basics, why would I try your more adventurous offerings?) and the toppings were wonderful, hot gooey cheese and sweet fresh tomato sauce. Excellent lunch at the farmer's market--and fast! I definitely recommend if you are looking for lunch while browsing for your vegetables.
(4)Rudy L.
Solid pizza combinations that are freshly done and baked in front of you. Additionally, they use local farm ingredients, which makes it that much better. My girlfirend and I ate there the first week they opened and we were both impresses.
(4)Candace M.
I was welcomed with an ALL-vegan pizza that did not involve just having tomato sauce and basil and some roasted veggies like usual ...no way. It was a hummus/zatar pizza with roasted nuts on top... so great! And my bf got the "meat" pizza which rotates based on the day and special meats they have available (it seems the prosciutto is always a choice, though). This pizza brought tears to his eyes. I am not kidding. Check this place out.

I was hungry after a brisk walk around Bicentennial Mall on a gorgeous fall Sunday and decided to follow up with lunch at Bella Nashville. I had the Marinara pizza (which is vegan) but added fresh parmesan which was listed as a special. The crust was delicious and enhanced the pizza rather than just act as cardboard carrier for the toppings. The crushed tomatoes used in sauce tasted garden fresh and satisfied a fresh tomato craving difficult to appease at this time of the year. I would have liked a tad more of the fresh oregano, but the truffle oil was a nice and interesting touch. As far as servings go, the pizzas are only enough for one person (give or take a slice). I opted to get my pizza To-Go but there was a counter available with a view of the oven. I will be back. Quick, easy, fresh Sunday lunch after a nice walk in the park.
(4)Myelin G.
Really good pizza and I'm a sucker for friendly people behind the counter. Chatted for a few minutes with the couple who opened the place up and they couldn't be any nicer and grateful for their opportunity. They care about the food and it shows. I had the hummus pizza and my lady friend had the margherita. Both were very good. The farmers market is one of my favorite places to grab a Saturday or Sunday lunch and Bella just made it a harder choice of where to eat.

best pizza i have had in nashville!

Delicious pizza for our taste!! Having moved from Italy and being very picky about our pizzas we'd say this was the closest we've come to the real thing! Staff was great and watching make the pizza is mesmerizing! Great job!

When I first ordered my pizza at Bella Nashville, I was really excited. I ordered the Meat Pizza and the lemon soda. My lemon soda came with a sprig of Basil in it, and it was delicious! I thought this was a good sign for what was to come. While I waited for my pizza, I listened to a conversation between the two chefs and another group of customers that had ordered right after me. It was clear throughout the conversation that the chefs at Bella Nashville are very proud of their work. They talked extensively about the recent good reviews they had had, their booming business, and the amount of time they had been open (104 days, to be exact). All signs pointed to this being a great pizza place. I saw my pizza come out of the oven, and then watched as the girl who initially took my order meticulously placed Benton's ham and basil on my pizza; so meticulously, in fact, that my pizza was cold by the time I got it. I carried my pizza over to the table and noticed that the smell was off putting. I took one bite and knew that the almost raw ham had to be removed. After removing the ham, I took another bite. I looked at my husband and apologized for wasting $10. I asked him to take a bite, and he was reluctant based on the smell, but agreed to assure me that I wasn't crazy (I mean, how could pizza be inedible?). He agreed that the pizza was disgusting and offered to take it back to the counter. When my husband took the pizza back to the counter, the staff didn't apologize, or offer anything else. I won't go back again, and do not recommend this restaurant. Next time I want great pizza, I will head over to Coco's Italian Kitchen.

Bella Nashville is great. I really enjoyed the orange soda as well as my pizza. This isn't the cheapest place for lunch (I spent $11) but the great food, friendly staff and locally grown ingredients make it worth it. We'll be back.
(5)Vickie Y.

On top of all of this, Emma and Dave (and the other two that work there) are exceedingly humble and friendly, as well as passionate about what they do. I cannot recommend this place enough..

I'm a pizza addict and you guys are the Walter White of pizza craftsmanship. Awesome stuff. Tight! Tight! Tight!

(4)Millah J.

(5)Sam D.
I don't care how long the wait is, this is the best pizza in nashville. I've had a lot of pizza but this is the best. They make the best crust, sauce, use the best cheese and meats and they make the best soda from scratch. There is no beating the flavor from a wood fired stone oven. A must eat.

(4)Andrew H.
While visiting friends, they took me to Bella for lunch. The fresh ingredients from the market truly make this a gem in the city. I can't wait to get back to try a new pizza.

(5)Zeb M.
(4)Christian S.

(3)K F.
(3)Asher B.

(5)Amy C.

Solid pizza combinations that are freshly done and baked in front of you. Additionally, they use local farm ingredients, which makes it that much better. My girlfirend and I ate there the first week they opened and we were both impresses.

I doubt I have to worry.

i loved it! The farmers market is so hard to decide where to eat and I am glad I chose Bella Nashville. I had the Margarita (although the hummus was interesting). It was almost as good at the Mario Batali restaurants I have been to in LA and NY - that is saying a lot! I will be back.
