have had a great meal at Wasabi every time, which is twice a year for last 7 years. good food, good service, good show and sometimes we'll get the "ketchup" bottle trick. Kids love the onion volcano. lots of food for the money, too.

Was there for dinner from out of town. Nice place except floor was very dirty w/ food debris! Food was not as cooked through as as I would have liked although the chef was fun. I asked for sesame seeds for my fried rice, but they had none. Asked for hot sauce and they had run out. Good sized portions here and tasted good, but the floors are going to be slipped on by patrons and the ladies bathroom was not very clean either.

Seriously folks, there are way too many places serving much better quality at about the same price as Wasabi. We may have caught it on a bad day, but the place looked filthy and there were fly's all over the place. The portions are reasonable but still get a mop and clean this nasty restaurant. I really would pass on this place in the future and go to Samurai's on Thompson Lane instead.

Amazing food, and good cooks. I always bring the food home and it gets eaten within a couple days; the food is amazing! The chef was respectful and started small talking with us. He told us he was a recently hired cook, and we told him we were new to this whole Japanese food thing so that worked out for us. I couldn't tell his food was new. It tasted just like how I remembered it; AMAZING

Went for lunch with my sister and it was delicious!! $5.99 lunch special for Hibachi Chicken and $9.95 lunch special for Hibachi Chicken and Shrimp. You can't beat the price for the amount of food you get! I'd definitely recommend Wasabi to hibachi lovers :))

Love this place! Great food, friendly staff, and we always ask for "Tu" to cook for us! They have coupons in the Clipper that makes it easier on the wallet. Hibachi and sushi are equally great!

I've only had wasabi to go but it's great every time!! I usually get the Las Vegas roll and an eel roll. Always made right when you order and tastes super fresh. The squid sashimi is killer as well. Price for most rolls aren't too bad either! P.S always tip the sushi chef, he does good work.

Wasabi has always been a favorite of mine, until today! To start with it smelled like a dirty latrine. The service was fine, but the sticky tables, floors, and the filthy carpet it took the enjoyment away from the food that ended up being mediocre. My daughter needed to go to the restroom twice. My wife and I each took a turn with this task and can say that the restrooms were equally disgusting. Sticky floors, no paper towels and obviously haven't been cleaned properly in a very long time. You could also see directly into the kitchen from our table. Each time the servers came and went you could see them sliding all over the floor because it was so greasy. The hood above us at the hibachi table was full of cobwebs and residue they had not been cleaned in ages. I'm aware that restaurants get dirty, and equally aware that businesses who enjoy repeat customers value cleanliness. We will not be returning because I value my family's health. Its very disappointing but obvious that management has stopped caring about their business.

Best Hibachi in Murfreesboro! Lunch prices are reasonable and portions large! If you are gonna get steak, splurge the extra $2 for the filet, it is definitely worth it!!!

GREAT LUNCH MENU! For a sit down restaurant, Wasabi serves its food fast. They have quite the extensive lunch menu and great prices. The portions are great as well. I got the box lunch which included your choice of meat, tempura (or steamed) veggies, California roll, rice, AND soup & salad. What a deal. They food is flavorful and fresh. If you're looking for a great place for lunch in The Boro, I highly recommend you give them a try.

The sushi is top notch and they offer some unique creations. The hibachi is okay, but not spectacular. The personalities of the cooks vary from great to boring. Ask for Harold (he's hilarious).

Wonderful showmanship and customer involvement, especially if you have children in your party. They are a bit expensive but the experience is worth it. My 2 year old was a bit frightened by the flames but the cook still attempted (gently) to involve her, it was endearing.

We are frequent visitors to Wasabi and can honestly say that this is one of the better restaurants in the Murfreesboro area. The food is always consistent and delicious. The sushi selection is broad and always fresh. The staff is always prompt and attentive and remembered our drinks and sushi after the second visit which was a nice touch. We usually get a booth but it's nice that you can also opt for the hibachi experience too. It makes for an interesting ambiance hearing the hibachi going on in the other room. About the only negative is the music selection/volume. It's almost as if they forgot to change it or turn it down after afternoon prep. Overall, it doesn't detract from the stars and we will keep coming back regardless.

We go here often. As others have said it's a value based hibachi. There is nothing overly fancy but in my experience the food has been great. Service has been good and the prices are great! If you are looking to try it, go at lunch for the best deal.

It was ok. Nothing great. Typical rolls.

Wasabi is barely ok. I can't complain too much since the prices are really low. The food is ok but the place itself is not very well taken care of. The cushions on the chairs are ripped and two of my plates were badly chipped. The miso soup is not very good. We also tried the hibachi one time and were rather disappointed. Again, not bad for the money but if you don't mind spending a little more for a better experience and higher quality food go somewhere else.

Way overpriced for the quality.... steak chewy, sushi fishy, soup not impressive, server sweet but not a trained well as a waitress.

Very Good! We were seated immediately. The sushi rolls were amazing! The wasabi MT was amazing, Our cook was fun, interactive, and the kids loved it. Food was awesome and the lava brownie was by far the best! We will definitely go back!

Ok for the money. Not a fancy place by any means. Customer service is ok. Rolls are a pretty decent size.

Not to shabby for 15 dinner . Kind of bland and steak a little tough and scallops needed a little more cooking

Looking for something different in the local coupon magazine and saw Wasabi had early bird specials and decided to give it a try. Some friends had said good things about this place so I was open to it. It is located in the back corner of a newer strip mall but the sign on the grass near the sidewalk made it hard to miss. The friendly and efficient greeting as soon as the door opened was nice. So was the efficient wait staff, who took drink and food orders as soon as we were ready and got the ball rolling. We had the hibachi grill, which involves the "show". Cooking utensils and spice containers making music, and food at the same time. The early bird specials were roughly 15% lower than the prime time prices but the selection was limited to about 6 items, all two-meat dinners (like filet mignon and shrimp which I had). Since the dinner hour had not fully started, it was not crowded at all and the service was very prompt. The cook was great and cracked some good jokes while conversing with us and cooking. The food was good. Usually they pour lotsa soy sauce on the fried rice and it comes out on the salty side. The chef had experience and I could see (and taste) that he had a moderate touch, especially with the soy. Also tried two specialty items from the sushi bar and they were also prompt and tasted good. Overall, no disappointments, good comments all around and I think we will be back.

Not a memorable experience. The food was bland although great atmosphere.

AW-FUL! Wasabi is the worst Japanese Steak House I have ever been to. The food is less than okay and the service is terrible. I have been to Wasabi twice. Once to take advantage of hibachi lunch on the cheap and another for dinner. I dismissed the bad service on the day I had lunch because they were busy. On the evening my husband and I had dinner, on the other hand, is probably the worst service I've ever experienced anywhere. I will start off by saying that I think the servers had previously decided to have a 'who cares' attitude that evening because they were slow. My husband and I, along with the six other people that were dining there, experienced the brunt of that attitude. Upon entering, we were not greeted. We had to walk back to the hibachi dining area to find someone that would seat us. Not a good sign when you could hear them in the service area cutting up and not caring how loud they were being in front of patrons. We were finally seated and out comes the hibachi chef who doesn't greet us, just starts plopping down our food and cooking it without any showmanship or interaction from the table. Bummer. He interacts more with his co-worker who is cooking dinner for the workers there at a separate table. I know this because they all sat down and ate together after our food was done. They had a great party. I could possibly understand this behavior if it were late at night, but it was 8:00! To make the experience worse, our portions were more like the lunch menu than the dinner menu, drink refills were hard to come by considering the servers were busy having their own party and our chef decided to clean out the food disposal underneath the grill while we were eating. He not only showed but talked about how disgusting it was and how much he hated cleaning them. Every one at the table was horrified from the entire evening and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Will never be back again.

I'd say that I will eat here from time to time, maybe once every few months since I usually like to try new places. This is one of the better hibachi places that I have been to and would recommend giving a try. It's hard for me to find a place that I will gladly come back to. That being said, it is great that the lunch menu is pretty low in price. I mean, who doesn't like saving money? Their portions are large and very well cooked. Most of the time I have to take a to-go box with me! Meals include, soup AND salad, fried rice (my favorite), vegetables, and which ever meats you choose. I usually get shrimp and chicken. They like to put a sauce after cooking the meats, it is teriyaki sauce. I'm actually not a fan since it is usually sweet but theirs is pretty tasty. I tell them not to put a lot on my meats though. The interaction with the chef to the customers is awesome! They love to joke around with you and get your input. As others have said, their decor isn't all that, it's pretty simple. For lunch - we spent about 24 dollars for two people. Mine was about 9 dollars for shrimp and chicken and his was about 11 dollars for shrimp and scallops, plus tax of course.

I would definately consider myself a regular here. It's a great place for a low price lunch with delicious food and larger than normal hibachi portions. The Decor and ambiance isnt as nice as some but definitely a good lunch stop!
