Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Hands down my new favorite Mexican restaurant. They are always quick to greet you, chips and salsa isn't ever far behind, and I've never waited long for entrees. Their salsa is a bit spicy, not too spicy though, and they do have milder options. The menu is extensive, and the prices are extremely competitive. Happy to say I will be a regular at Margarita House! Did I mention their AMAZING drink specials? HUUUUGE beer for under 3 bucks! They know what they're doing :)

Not a pleasant experience. The name is Margarita House, yet, the lime margarita we ordered tasted like a bland alcohol mix vaguely resembling a frozen alcoholic beverage. In my father's words: "This is the first margarita I've ever had that didn't taste like a margarita." The guac was warm, pasty-textured, and not very avocado-y. Finally, the service was terrible. He was a nice guy but terrible waiter. Worst Mexican restaurant at which I've ever eaten.

Rude, Disrespectful and Grumpy. No I'm not naming 3 dwarfs, though my micro-chimichanga was made for someone of their size. These are 3 words that describe our server. She was even mean to our children. How can you be mean to little kids?! She got our order wrong, and when we brought that up to her, she insisted we ordered wrong?!! She continued to tell us that she wasn't stupid and that we ordered what we were saying was not our order. She just stared at us. I asked to see a manager. One never came. They are expensive. The food is mass made tasteless. And their people have ugly hearts. Please don't go there. We will NEVER eat at this hell-hole again. En espanol - la comida era mierda.

The service was absolutely horrible. The lady came to our table grumpy and rude. We ended up asking for a new waiter. We also asked to speak to the manager, that never came. The food was sub-par. A complete waste of money and time.

Of all the mexican places we've visited this year, this one is the best. Always seated quickly and the service is good even when you can tell the waitress has had a rough day. The food was delicious and I was very sad when I forgot my leftovers on the table. Free refills of chips and salsa + Giant beers + People watching + We have already been here twice and will likely be back again!

I'm not a big fan of Mexican food, but I did enjoy my experience here with friends and my fiance. I ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla...and it was one of the best ones I have ever had. So tasty and delicious! Their queso dip was also quite tasty...but the chips could have been better. I also decided to try one of their Watermelon margaritas, and boy it was strong! I usually like my margaritas a little fruity, but this one didn't come close. I'm willing to come back again, but not too soon.

With SO MANY Mexican places in Mt.Juliet it is hard to know where to go. Margarita House is a great place to get a great Margarita or sangria. They have no problem accommodating large parties.

Yuck! Started with jar tasting salsa. Asked for different kind and they brought soup salsa. Said it was spicy. Had the bacon shrimp and it was dry and bacon tasted burnt. The taco was greasy and the meat tasted weird. I would have to say the only positive was the service. I will never be back.

By far our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area! I have never been disappointed with any of the food! We've gone through most of the menu, and it's all delicious! My favorites are Pollo a la Diabla and Cazuelon, but the chimichangas are also amazing! The margaritas are also amazing! We go here at least once a month!

This place chupé me juevos. Trust me I'm Mexican and the food and service is so bad that I spoke English just to not associate with the grouchy waitress.

So to celebrate me getting my first full-time job, some friends, my fiancee and I went here for dinner. I had heard a lot about this place and was quite excited to try them. I left with a feeling of "meh". The food is good, but not great. The refried beans I got tasted watered down, the chicken in my enchilada lacked flavor and the chips tasted like they had been fried in rancid oil. Don't get me wrong, the portions are very good and the meal did have it's high points (the queso was quite tasty and I love cheese). However, overall I felt it could have been better. As such I am willing to give this place another chance, just not for now.

My friend and I visited for an early dinner. It was about 5pm on a Sat. It wasn't very busy so we were sat immediately. I ordered a beer and she had water. Chips and salsa were brought right away. Salsa was a bit watery, but had a good flavor. We each ordered dinner. Mine was a shrimp burrito, no green peppers and no beans, just rice. She had a beef chimichanga. The orders came very fast. I figured they'd mess up and still include the peppers, (because most Mex restaurants do this) but it was perfect, as ordered. It was sooo good! They grilled the shrimp, onions, tomatoes, etc. and then rolled it in the burrito. It was phenomenal!! The rice was tasty too!! My friend said hers was also excellent. Excellent service! Excellent food and really reasonable!! Will definitely be back!! Yumm! Can't wait to eat my leftovers!!

I am a frequent diner at the Margarita House and have had a variety of meals here. I've lived in Mt Juliet for almost two years and recently discovered MH. While I wouldn't say that it is stellar I will agree with other reviews that state it is the best Mexican restaurant in Mt Juliet. Let's start with the food: I like the salsa which is offered at the beginning of the meal and the homemade chips are a bonus. The salsa is slightly Americanised but we'll balanced with slight heat, fresh jalapeños, and cilantro. My kids actually like it and I appreciate that we can all share this free appetizer together. The food is scratch cooking which sometimes brings in its own set of problems if the kitchen is not skilled. Generally the food is very consistent here but I have occasionally had rice and beans with slight variation. I do wish that the sauces for the dishes were a little more authentic. What MH calls "red sauce" is just a tomato-y concoction that does very little for the enchiladas and burritos. The Verde sauce is a nice rendition with just a little more heat while the chile Colorado brings it home with all of the complex flavors expected from a guajillo Chile puree. Unfortunately the chile colorado is not available as a topper. On a good day I can convince my waiter to let me top my cheese enchiladas with it. Most days though it's a struggle to get any changes on any dish. This is where MH suffers - I realize that its a pretty big menu but sometimes I don't want a dish exactly as printed. Hey. I'm an American! Service is relatively consistent here and I've never had bad service here but if there was one thing I could change I'd make the waitstaff a little more accommodating with the menu. I don't fault the waitstaff as this may be a managerial or even a kitchen issue. For the most part I do find the staff friendly and attentive. The menu is broad and very extensive. There are some interesting items available including several mixed grill items. I once tried this mix of steak, shrimp, pork, chicken, and chorizo. I have to give them credit for this one as I actually enjoyed the entire class of animals in a corn tortilla with fresh pico de gallo, sour cream, and a nice heaping serving of house made guacamole. As I write this I feel a little embarrassed that I liked it but hey, you only live once man. I don't drink much but have had an opportunity to taste the Margarita and it was really nice. MH offers a full bar menu and includes some classic Mexican sodas in the menu for the kids. No horchata here means that my kids are going to go for the higher priced drinks. I've only had the fried ice cream from the desert menu. The fried ice cream is common in an Americanised Mexican restaurants. Fried ice cream should be fried at am extremely high temp for just a few seconds to crisp up the outside. If it's done at a normal fry temp the result will be a chewy textured crust and this is what I find with the MH version. Fried ice cream will reak havoc on your equipment and a restaurant almost needs one dedicated fryer for it but if your going to put it on the menu you gotta get it right. My oldest son really enjoys seafood and often orders the salmon here which tastes fresh enough. Although I wouldn't give points for creativity it is simply cooked in butter but sounds fancy on the menu when it's described in Spanish. My youngest son has come to love the bacon wrapped shrimp and my problem with that is that it's a huge serving of vegetables, condiments including guacamole and sour cream, beans and rice, and pico de gallo with four tortillas - my little guy only eats the shrimp. Unfortunately, as I've mentioned the staff is not accommodating enough to offer us just the shrimp at a discounted price. One of my only complaints is that some of the entrees don't come with rice and beans but it works out when my kids only eat the meat on their plates. Margarita House is definitely the best Mexican restaurant in Mt Juliet. Prices are reasonable, the service is good and above all the food can vary from average to excellent. My complaints are few and small and center on how dishes are served rather than how they are cooked or flavored. You will find this place in an awkward location behind the Waffle House but if you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine you have to make the trip here. Stay away from the Fried Ice Cream and don't be afraid to ask for special menu changes although don't be surprised if you don't get your wish granted. And I recommend you be a little daring with the menu as they've got some interesting plates that are pretty darn bueno!

Great Mexican food fast - excellent Cheese Enchiladas. As a vegetarian, my Veggie Fajitas tasted like they had been cooked in meat fat. Other than that, great salsa, great beans and rice and super friendly service!

Needed a perfect place for a mid-week dinner with the family.. couldn't find better Mexican place in mt. juliet than this one. Our waiter "Antonio" was incredible..

I recently discovered this place and now I will be a regular client. The food was delicious! I had enchiladas, tacos and a tamale. Everything delicious. My husband ordered the chile colorado and said it was super tasty. I had one of the best margaritas ever there. The service was great even though the place was quite busy. We will definitely be back

I am so not much of a drinker, but the homemade sangria that Margarita House makes keeps me coming back. They're not too sweet, not too bitter...just right! The 4 stars is solely on the sangria. The food is decent, though we had a problem one time where we ordered the double order of fajitas but got the same amount that we always got for a single order. No amount of questioning or complaining to the server got us anywhere, and we were charged for the double. I'd give it 3 stars for the food. Parking can sometimes be challenging, but I've never not found a parking place, even if it was on the other side of the lot. The restaurant is in a strip mall that shares with a couple of other restaurants and a few other popular stores.

We have eaten here almost every week since they opened. The food is always hot and delicious! Jaime and his staff are all super friendly, and we have never had a bad experience. Definitely the best margarita's around...get the small pitcher for $8.99.

This is definitely the best Mexican restaurant in MJ. I was skeptical because it is located in the same place the old chinese buffet was. I was pleasantly surprised at the great service, delicious fajitas, and amazing margaritas!

Slow service. Food I give a grade of b- or c. The refried beans were a weird gray color and runny. Not sure what type of taco meat I was eating either, the consistency was very fine. My husband had fajitas and he said they were ok, chicken was good.
(2)Deborah G.
What a hidden gem. The sangria is worth going for alone. Tasty options at our table included the steak fajita nachos and the spinach enchiladas! Even the ambiance isn't as underwhelming as might be expected for a strip center locale. Definitely a repeat performer.

My family and I have enjoyed this Mexican restaurant more than any other in Mt. Juliet....until tonight. I'm guessing they have new management or new kitchen staff. The sweet tea was extremely bitter, the Dr. Pepper carbonation was terrible and the refried beans were disgusting. No amount of salt could bring out any flavor in the beans. The steak a la Mexicana was sub standard. I explained these compalints to the cashier hoping she would be honest and say a new cook was working tonight or give some plausible excuse for the mess I was served. She merely shrugged. After eating there 25+ times a year, I am walking away.
