Not sure why people rave about food and service, then give 3 stars...maybe that's a Yankee thing. Let me correct the record and say Hillbilly's is the finest place around for a casual meal. Friendliest wait staff, generous portions, great country meals, fantastic breakfasts. Morristown is my hometown, and no visit back home is complete without a stop to Hillbilly's, where all the waitresses take time to gossip with my mother, and I bliss out over country ham and greens and fried okra. I also love the bustle of people that just makes me feel at home. Families after church, guys in overalls taking a break from hay balin, groups of friends sharing loud, happy meals together. Most of all, it's the authenticity that brings me back again and again.

Very cute. Good food, definitely southern cooking. Open only for breakfast and lunch except Friday's for Dinner. The other restaurants don't offer this. Great staff, however, only two with 20 + tables is tough. In and out, short-order for most things. Staff are nice and attentive. A lot of locals there. We both ordered basic eggs, and meat. The homefries with onions and gravy was wonderful! Their gravy is a brownish gravy. With everything being made there and by scratch you can't go wrong with anything you order. Well recommended.

Great place for a greasy spoon kinda breakfast. Probably the best in Motown. Have yet to stop in for lunch but my guess is it would be good fare that leans more toward comfort food than healthy. Service is friendly and efficient and prices are what you'd expect for what you get.

Pretty typical greasy spoon fare, and I mean that in the BEST way :) Stopped by for a big family breakfast. Most breakfasts come with ALL the fixins. For something stupid like $7 I got 2 giant pieces of honey cured ham, 3 eggs to order, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy and grits. My hubby loved the grits and he's a southern boy so don't take my word for it! All 4 of us had breakfasts that big and good for $40 with tax. Coffee was as expected, OK but a bit weak but hey, again I'm not complaining just giving the details. Hash-browns came in a patty form, kinda like McDonalds, and were just as greasy and tasty, LOL. Biscuits were darn tasty and fresh n hot. The sugar cured ham was by far my favorite part. Not fatty or gristly, not too sweet, tender and about 6 ounces of it too! My parents eat there often and swear it's the best they have had. Service was really friendly and our coffee cups were always full. Definitely recommend stopping in!

We were looking for a good different restaurant for breakfast. We are from Chicago and looked on line to find something and looked at the reviews . People were saying how great the food was and the people were very friendly. I have to disagree completely. We had a group of 7 and no one even greeted at the door. We sat down and waited for someone to help and greet us. Just gave us menus and asked what to drink and that was it. Food was not bad, but not great. Omelettes with american cheese on TOP of the omlette? Nothing looked appetizing just greasy spoonish. Staff was not very friendly as stated on line and we had two very well behaved children with us and they payed not mind to them at all. NOT going to return.
