Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Great local restaurant. Always go when in town. Fajita nachos are a favorite.

Found this Mexican Restaurant on YELP reading reviews from other individuals. The outside is deceiving - saw the drivethru window and almost wrote-off this restaurant as fast food but due to all the cars in the parking lot on a Tuesday night, opted to go inside (later learned the building was an old fast food chicken restaurant and the drive through is not used any longer). Definitely a sit down Mexican restaurant. Very good food and service. Reasonable prices. I recommend this restaurant in Millington TN

Tight dinning area, but excellent food

Food is excellent, and the service is even better! Go more than a couple of times, and they treat you like family. Margaritas are the best in town! Too many Mexican restaurants in town, actually, but this is the only one worth frequenting!

The best Mexican restaurant I've ever experienced. The food is top-notch, the staff is extremely friendly. A definite must-have if you're in the Millington area.

We love this place! We enjoy the food, margaritas, and the staff. Fun place to enjoy with friends any day of the week ! Don't forget your coupon from Kroger receipt. Sergio, Juan, Raul, Jose, Francisco and Pepe make a great team. We will see you there. There's something for everyone.... Try the Jalisco, chicken soup, shrimp cocktail, or the wings.

Although a sit down place, it typically has faster service than most fast food restaurants I've frequented. I dare you to try to keep your drink, chip basket, and salsa bottle empty. It simply cannot be done. Don't be afraid that food quality suffers from the fast service. If you're in the mood for a quick work lunch, this is where you go to not get disappointed. This place made my lunch restaurant rotation. The meal starts with a fantastic balance of heat and flavor in the salsa. I've typically run into overly hot (my tongue is delicate and weak...) or bland salsas in other restaurants, but this place delivers on both fronts. Heat and flavor perfectly in sync like the picture and music of a great movie. The fajitas come on a sizzling plate and will have your ears twitching and mouth watering before they reach the table. The rice comes well flavored and cooked, enchiladas wrapped in soft saucy tortillas and tacos with cold lettuce and cheese.

Fast Service, so fast I wonder why they don't have drive thru? The red dipping sauce was like water. Seating reminded me of an airliner configuration. AC was On warm side.

The day I visited Los Pilares, I tagged along with other "temps" who wanted to eat at Taco Bell for lunch. With Los Pilares being next door, I chose authenticity over Faux Mexican. My choice of entrée was the Quesadilla Rellena, a delicious favorite stuffed with cheese and a choice of beef, chicken or shrimp. Wrapped around a baked tortilla shell, the quesadilla comes with the requisite Mexican side items of rice, refried beans, tomato, guacamole, lettuce and sour cream. The latter four items came in handy, for it turned my chicken quesadilla into a creamy mix of flavor. To spice it up, I added salsa that resulted in the quesadilla tasting great. It helped that the fluffy tortilla shell, while firm, was malleable enough to enclose the added items that I put in without breaking apart. In all, it was a pleasure to eat that cost a little more than a comparable meal at most fast food joints. The service at Los Pilares was excellent, as always. The second I sat at my table, a server was there with a menu and an eagerness to take my order. Less than a minute after taking it, my chips and salsa arrived. A few minutes later, the server brought out the main course with a big smile on his face. This all took place in about six to eight minutes, which is really good for a restaurant. Maybe the reason for that could have been the paucity of diners inside the restaurant (this was during a Saturday afternoon). Or it might have been due to the restaurant's staff being in a great mood after Mexico won the gold medal in soccer by beating powerhouse Brazil in the 2012 Olympics in London. Whatever the reason, I appreciated the restaurant's efforts in providing excellent service. To read the entire review, go to kensfoodfind.com/2012/08…

Looks are deceiving!!! My husband and I ordered the cheese dip and shared the single fajitas. We also ordered a half pitcher of margaritas. Not only did we get a half pitcher but our waiter brought the glasses full. Oh my goodness, it was all so good. The cheese dip was a little thin but very flavorful. The fajitas we excellent! Don't pass this one up!

I visited after waiting at the DMV around the corner and very glad I did. First impression was a little off as I expected very fast service from the prior reviews. Coming in the side door I noticed a woman grabbing a napkin heading towards me and a man who was folding silverware staring at me blankly. I greeted the woman assuming she was the waitress, wrong. So I walked up to the man folding silverware and he asked me how many to eat; um, just me sir. Beyond slow service even when I went to leave, I finally got up to find my waiter because I had waited so long, the food was okay and fresh. I had a chimichanga but wasn't able to enjoy the guacamole salad that came with it because it was so salty. The fresh salsa, pico, and rice were very good though. I would still choose this place over the taco-bell next door, lunch was only $7 and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

Great food, quality service and authentic Mexican. Easy to get in and out quickly. Amazing drink selections and tasty food. Small building but still a top notch eatery! Variety of the menu is great, offering authentic Mexican cuisine and a variety of American foods as well. Queso is the way to go!

I wish I could give it more stars . I absolutely love this place, been a loyal customer since 2010 . They accommodate you in every way. I always get the Baked Potato Fajita with chicken . Love them, perfect chill place or group eating or even a date night . Wonderful for any occasion .

Not bad for the money. It's your standard Mexican style food place with the regular bland fare. The white cheese dip is especially bland. Not a place if likely go again. But bits no worse then other comparable places. Service was good though and food was brought out fast.

Love this place! Salsa is one of the best I've had. When I lived in the area I would frequent this place once a week. Chicken chimichangas are always good here. Great service and fast too! Great place to go for lunch if you want quick lunch for a good price. Some of the best margaritas in town.

Staff is friendly but it's small and dirty. Food wasn't that great and never went back. Plus pricey if you ask me

Went here with coworkers for lunch. Service was quick and friendly. The iced tea was very good and bottomless. The tortilla chips are complimentary with free house salsa. They are made of yellow corn, medium thickness, and not very salty. The restaurant is clean and well lit. The menu has all of the traditional Mexican favorites and a few house specialties. I had a beef chimichanga with rice and beans and it was great. It comes dressed in a mild queso sauce (tasty) and includes lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream. The beef was very well seasoned and tasty. It was not ground or shredded, but very small, tender cubes which melted in my mouth. Overall $10 for lunch with my tea. A great value and I will go back again while I am in town.
