The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. Great place for lunch! I've had both the gyro and chicken shawarma pita and both were delicious. The ingredients taste fresh and the meat is flavorful. Love the hummus here the most of any place I've had hummus! It's homemade and is topped with chickpeas and olive oil. If I was going home directly after I was eating here, I'd buy some to have at home instead of buying a tub at a grocery store.

I could literally eat here every day of my life. It's the best kept secret for lunch in Memphis. Not only are the employees super nice, it's also easy to eat healthy-ish here. I love their Spicy Chicken plate with lettuce instead of rice, hummus and corn salad. Ask for extra spicy sauce - I could eat it with a spoon. It's that good. Dear Memphis, please keep eating here so it stays around forever.
(5)Marlin M.
My wife and I came here with intentions of eating inside but our little one fell asleep in his car seat so I ended up getting the food to go and we ate in the car in the parking lot. That didn't stop us from enjoying our food! She had the gyro and I had the chicken shawarma, both of which were excellent and authentic. We also had some hummus which was some of the best I've had. We'll definitely be coming back even if it means we end up having to eat in the car again!
(5)Sabine N.
Zam Zamz offers healthy quick serve Mediterranean food. The food is fresh and tastes great. Their lentil soup and the hummus are my personal favorites. My family loves the chicken gyro and the chicken Shawarma. If you haven't tried it yet, you are missing out!

EXCELLENT FRESH FOOD!!!! This place is very good for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. We tried every item from this place and every single item was very tasty and fresh!!! With very reasonable price with huge serving size. The staff is very decent and respectful. Thanks ZamZams Mediterranean Grill!!!
(5)Christopher L.
The food is very good at a reasonable price. Consistently fresh though I've had a so-so meal once or twice over the past 9 mos. I give the 5 stars initially because it's a great little independent with an owner who obviously pays attention based on his responses to Yelp. I take it down a star for a few little annoyances. 1.) the napkins aren't much bigger than those tiny wet-napkins in the foil pouches used to clean eye glasses. Can we get some adult-sized napkins please? 2.) the styrofoam plates just cheapen the feel of everything. Somehow even heavy paper plates would be better. 3.) Drink selection is narrow and the Sobee is weak. I keep coming back and recommend to friends.
(4)Kristina M.
After reading several reviews I wanted to try this place since I've never really eaten Mediterranean food so me and a friend tried this place for lunch today. This place was very clean and the staff was nice. We decided on the chicken shawarma rice plate with two sides. To try different things I got the falafel and tabbouleh for my sides and my friend got the humus and baba Ghanoush. Being that I never ate this type of food, I thought it was pretty good. The food tasted fresh and had good flavor. I really liked the chicken and humus a lot. I definitely would go back to try other things off their menu.
(4)Ramona P.
This is my second time having food from Zam Zamz. The food here is spectacular. I had the gyro plate that comes with rice, and I selected corn salad and hummus as my sides. The service is also excellent and the staff is friendly. They now have a rewards program, which you can sign up at the register to receive points and deals from purchases.
(4)Rangi G.
I had to wait 5-6 visits before writing this review. Why? Because every time I came in the workers were nice, the place was clean and the food was fresh.... And most importantly - authentic and great. So I just wanted to make sure it was not by accident. It is great (and busy but not too crowded) for lunch. shawarma is a real shawarma. They also have Gyro but for those looking for Shawarma, it is the best I ate so far in Memphis. The Humus is real, made from scratch, and was fresh every time I was there.
(5)Laura P.
Easy location to get to but be wary of your surroundings. It is a no frills place that serves up awesome Mediterranean food. The soup, falafel, babagaunsh (sp?), chicken shawarma, all beyond great. Do not miss this!!
(5)Tyler B.
We stopped here as we were passing through on a road trip. I got the Greek salad with spicy chicken, and it was delicious! The dressing they use is the most flavorful Greek dressing I've ever tasted. I took away a star from my rating because I did find a hair in my salad... It's not really that big of a deal to me. I didn't even say anything to an employee. I used to work in the service industry, so I know the horror that is the food we eat, but I mention it for the naive and overly squeamish. The falafel is made to order and was so good we ended up ordering another order. I would come back here again if I was in the Memphis area.
(4)Natalie W.
Zam Zamz is Yum Yumz!! Went for lunch with a friend and we were pleasantly surprised at our new find. We were heading somewhere else for lunch when we saw their sign. We were glad we did. Gyros, falafel and fries were all great!! Looking forward to going back for the sampler platter.
(5)Kaps P.
Falafel was yummyyyyyy!!!! Ask them to make it little spicy and enjoy Not that expensive. Great for lunch.
(5)Daniel D.
Amazing pitas and rice plates love the spicy chicken it is the business. The tabbouleh is like a epic Mediterranean take on pico de gallo.
(5)Sheay D.
The food was great. I've had gyros before, being from up North I didn't expect the exact same thing here in Memphis. But I was pleasantly surprised the pita pocket was a lot easier to eat and handle because of the way it's cut. The bread was definitely fresh. I was surprised at how the meat wasn't cut directly off the skewer in front of me. That's the way it's usually done up North. The service was ok. The person who prepared my food wasn't rude but he wasn't extremely friendly either. It put me in mind of being back at home, lol. The cucumber sauce was great!!!! Overall the food was good and I'd definitely go back again and try something different. It would help if the person serving you asked if you have ever eaten there before and gave suggestions. Just my humble opinion.
(4)Ōnglaà W.
Great quality and good nutrition for a fast, quick meal! Clean and the people are friendly! Love it!
(4)S T.
Way disappointing. Everything about this visit was bland. Service was meh, the staff was not friendly or personable and they clearly did not want to be at work that day. The chicken pita was really dry and flavorless. The yogurt sauce was watery and bland, absolutely no flavor. Even the baclava was lacking a crispy crunch, and I'm pretty sure they use corn syrup not pure honey. All in all, I wouldn't return for that food with that type of service. Meh. Reading the other reviews is amazing, I just wasn't impressed with this place.
(1)Srishti S.
This place is pretty good. The food tastes very fresh. I had the spicy chicken in pits. One of the best I've had. My husband had the falafel pita, he loved it. The falafels were very flavorful and moist. The hummus was very fresh. The best part was the pita itself, very soft. The pita chips with the spicy dip were also amazing. Overall an excellent option for all the Mediterranean food lovers!!
(4)Leo B.
We went right after they opened, and there were some minor issues. We gave it another shot though, and I'm glad to say they have worked out the kinks, and we've been back several times now. I think their Chicken Kabob is the best dish, but the other kabobs and swarma are all solid offerings. The side dishes are quite tasty, they make a very good Hummous and the falafel is delicious. They do lack a fountain drink dispenser, but make up for it with a wider than normal selection of bottled beverages. They appear to make the pitas fresh in store, which is a big plus for their sandwiches.
(4)Ruthe C.
The venue is clean, bright and cheerful. We sampled many different foods - tabbouleh, baba ghanoush, hummus, falafel, pita bread, chicken and beef kabobs, stuffed pitas and baklava. It was all delicious. The meats were moist. The falafel had a crisp crust and was soft inside. The baba ghanoush and hummus were the best I've tasted. It definitely seems like a place geared toward a healthy, tasty lunch. I'm excited to have this little gem close to home!
(4)Jen Q.
Decided to try Zamzams based on other reviews. We moved from a very culturally diverse area and we were really excited to have authentic Mediterranean again. Zamzams lived up to our expectations. We have a picky 3yr and he loved the lamb Gyro. Great place and very nice staff. Everything was fresh and delicious. We will be added it to one of our usual eateries.
(5)Jim H.
This is my favorite restaurant for tasty, fast Mediterranean food. We usually order the Swarma gyro, humans, tabouli, and falafel. We like that they make their own pita bread and pita chips. The tabouli is always fresh and refreshing. The prices are good. The owners are pretty straight forward, meaning you won't get a lot of conversation, but you will get great food!
(5)Sarah W.
DELICIOUS Falafel sandwiches!! They are huge too, so you get a good deal for the price. My family also loves the gyros! They have great sides too like tabbouleh and baba ganoush. This place deserves more business!
(4)Michele W.
Quick, healthy, Mediterranean cuisine. Clean environment. Good staff. Reasonable prices for portion sizes. I had the signature Zamzamz salad with chicken and it was delicious. Will definitely be going back again.
(4)Erin T.
Nothing depresses me more than lackluster Middle Eastern food. The kubadeh was WAY over cooked leaving it dry and flavorless. The rice was so unremarkable that I can't even come up with an adjective for it. The pita very Wonder Bread. Hummus was good with addition of salt. Having worked in a Middle Eastern eatery, I know what goes into the prep to achieve flavor. This place is too assembly line for that.
(2)Jason G.
Ok, I love Yelp. But one thing that annoys me is when they so clearly jack up restaurant's score when they are so, so, so average. The food here is not as good as Tazikis nor the run of the mill gyro shop. I've eaten here twice & its average...say three stars. But... I've subtracted a score for the game Yelp plays with their 'friendly' restaurants.
(2)Irene R.
I noticed a new Mediterranean place opened up nearby and wanted to try it out. It's a small place but laid out nicely. Plenty of open space and very clean. The menu has a decent selection but there isn't a huge choice for drinks since they don't have a soda machine. The pita is baked fresh and is delicious. I had a Gyro. I wish the tzatziki sauce had a bit more flavor, it was a bit bland for my liking. Otherwise everything was good and their fries are tasty (I'm a big fan of fries with the skin still on). My husband's biggest complaint was that their menu should be more specific about which sauces are on each platter. But he was assured they are working on that. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly.
(3)Sarah J.
Very good but don't ask them to make you a Tabbouhli hummus sandwich they frown upon any requests... So pregnant ladies don't go crazy. Portions are large and it is very well priced. My husband loves the gyro's.
(5)Justin B.
I think you will be hard-pressed to find a better Mediterranean diner in Memphis. The staff told us all the food here is homemade and you can tell. Everything we had was excellent, from the spicy chicken with harissa, fresh falafel, homemade hummus and pita to the BEST gyros I've ever had hands down. Friendly staff, nice diner atmosphere. And the prices are great. Perfect! This is my new default Mediterranean place.
(5)Bashar A.
straight fire fam best Mediterranean in the tri state area. a little pricey considering its more of a lunch place. get the kefta kabob-worth the wait
(5)Ali A.
Chicken was undercooked. Wait time is too much. Staff was okay. Prices are okay as well. As far as food is concerned it taste like any other middle eastern restaurant. Nothing unique. They could improve their service and food.
(2)Shane S.
This place is great! the hummus is perfectly seasoned. We had the kefta platter which was delicious and the rice was also cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The chicken shawarma was also amazing! We don't repeat places often, but this is one we will frequent for lunch and dinner.
(4)Amani J.
My family and I spent the night in Memphis and were looking for a good place to grab lunch before heading back home and found this place. We drove 1/2 hour from were our hotel was which was way out of the way from the route home but reading the reviews we had to try this place out. Its almost like a Medeteranian Subway. Food was delicious and the workers were very friendly. Plus I loved how they hae Arabic music playing in the background. The fact that it was all reasonable prices was good too. Definately worth going too. Wish they had a place like this in NOLA.
(5)Dan R.
Saw this last night and decided to go for lunch today....and I'm glad I did! Ordered a gyro and hummus. Mohammed took my order and was super friendly and helpful. He gave me my cup and told me to have a seat. I got my drink (Pepsi served here!!!) And took a seat. I watched him stuff the fresh baked pita with meat, diced onions and tomatoes, and topped it off with cucumber sauce. He fixed up the hummus and put everything on a tray..then nodded as to say it was ready. Hummus was perfect. Served with some pita chips that I could only assume we're fresh baked as well. Knocked and out and then moves to the gyro...which was kind of intimidating close up. I took my first bite and got the perfect portion of bread, meat, veggies and sauce. I finished of the gyro and used the pita scraps to wipe off the rest of the hummus on the plate. I suggest this if you like Mediterranean food. Fresh, healthy, and sizeable portions. I'll be back.
(5)Camille C.
Ordered via Chef Shuttle tonight and the food is amazing!! So fresh and full of flavor! I will definitely be ordering again!
(5)Troy F.
Fantastic! Dropped in for a late lunch. Service was fast and the staff was friendly. We ordered Hummus and Felafel to start. Both were outstanding. Generous potions. The Felafel was very crispy and fresh. I loved the spicy sauce that it is served with. The pita chips with the hummus were addictive! Really crunchy and seasoned. I had a Gyro - wonderful! The pita bread tasted like it was right out of the oven. Plus they do not skimp! I could barely eat half of it. My mother had kabobs. Very flavorful. Rice was tasty as well was the corn salad and the baba ganoush. Great addition to the neighborhood and I will defiantly be going back.
(4)Carlos S.
Nice change of fare. The food had a very rustic and middle eastern taste. I tried the sampler kabob platter that had chicken and beef. Intricate seasoning on both. My taste is for juicier "rarer" meat, but these were well done in more ways than one. Those falafels were spot on and I wish I had doubled up on them. The rice was good also, but the star of the plate was the fluffy pita bread. The sitting area is pretty Spartan; for a restaurant feel there are other restaurants. The green tea and Sobe dispensers seemed to have only water; must've been since I caught them after opening on Sunday. I didn't see a dessert or kiddie taylored menu, but if you're in an adventurous spirit while in the Winchester corridor, it's worth a try. I'm definitely coming back for the shawarma!
(4)Deniz M.
I go here at least once a week. They are by far my favorite place in all of Memphis. the food is cheap, and it is definitely made with quality ingredients. The owner and the staff are always very friendly and accommodating and the menu has a large enough selection that if you eat there a few times a week you will not get bored with the food.
(5)Brad B.
I normally don't like to review a place until after I've been there a few times, but sometimes a meal is too good not to write about. We each got the gyro plate with basmati rice, hers with hummus and pita chips and mine with tabbouleh and falafel. Other reviews are spot-on. The falafel was the best I've ever had, crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside (which also describes the pita chips). Everything just tasted so fresh. You would swear they'd just finished making the hummus, and the pita bread tasted like it was fresh out of the oven. If we're lucky enough to make it back in the near future, totally doing the $20 annual VIP card. I do wish they had traditional sweet/unsweet tea, as I don't see myself always being in the mood for the citrus green tea (rather sweet, and carbonated?), but I can't bring myself to view this as an honest-to-goodness complaint.
(5)Chris C.
Been back here twice at the urging of the owners who wrote rather extensively about all the supposed great things I missed. The quality of the meat is just not that impressive. Some of the sauces are good (I like the hot sauce over the regular sauce), but the meat itself lacks flavor. Hummus and Tabbouleh are both pretty unimpressive. The pita bread itself is, again, unusually dry. You don't get that much for what you pay. Also no wifi now. It's a good option if you want Mediterranean food in the area, but it's not quite the culinary revolution some people seem to think.
(3)Robin P.
This is one of my favorite hidden lunch spots. It's a family owned restaurant to grab a quick, healthy, delicious mediteranian meal. Prices are very reasonable and portions are quite filling. My favorite is the tabouli side with a gyro. Enjoy!
(5)Hillary R.
Placed an order for my work team the day before a large celebratory and recognition meeting. They had everything ready and even added some extra and thanked me for our business- this was about a year ago when they were still fairly new. Very friendly and all the food was great!
(4)Melanie K.
First time here- everything was fresh and delicious- I had the gyro- yummy and so filling- my husband had the kabob combo! All delicious!
(4)Kimberly K.
My son and I we were going to Menchies when we saw Zam Zamz. We recently moved here from Chicago and needless to say...not many options (if any) for Mediterranean food in this area. We went in with low expectations and we were so so happily surprised! The falafel was just like Pita Grill in Chicago. The pitas were actually better and the hummus was delicious. My son ordered the chicken schawarma and he loved it. Since then (our first trip there was about a year ago) I stop in quite often to pick up dinner. I get the platter for husband and it's a ton of food. All the "sides" are great as well. Restaurant is very clean, everything is made to order. Love this place!
(4)Steve I.
I have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time. I'm saddened that I had waited so long. I got the spicy chicken wrap and my wife got the falafel wrap. Both were served in a pita and I also got a side of some pita chips. We were both very impressed with our meal and will definitely return. The ingredients tasted fresh and the price was very reasonable. Thank you ZamZam!!!
(5)Brian M.
I wish I could give 3.5 stars. It's better than 3, but not quite a 4. That being said, it's pretty good. Simple menu, classic gyro's. Tasted fresh and was made to order. Liked the sauce and the cut of lamb. I would definitely recommend it as a "fast food" lunch if you are in the area.
(4)Nuna A.
Wow! This place is amazing. The falafel is the best we have ever had. We usually order chicken shawarma and are always very pleased with the taste, but this time we ordered the falafel sandwich and let me tell you it was very delicious. My husband even ordered a few falafels on the side to dip in the homemade tahini sauce which was an excellent choice. You can tell by the taste that the pita bread is freshly baked in house. The falafel was crunchy on the outside and very soft and perfectly spiced on the inside. Which makes a perfect falafel. Our sandwich order came with a side of fries which were perfectly salted and also tasted great. We are valued customers of this place and I just had to leave them a review. You guys have to check them out! Great food and friendly staff gives this place 5 stars!
(5)Benjamin V.
Such a great place! Delicious falafel and chicken. All the ingredients taste fresh... Only critique would be the prices. Should be a dollar or two cheaper. And the guys need to smile more.
(4)Casey B.
My mother and I had lunch here based off the other yelp reviews. Once again, I found another great restaurant based on these reviews. First off, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We got the kabob combo platter (choice of 2 kabobs, 2 sides, rice, pita bread, and pita chips for 15.99). We chose the chicken and kefta (lamb and beef mixture) kabobs, along with tabbouleh and hummus. I also added a side of baba ghanoush and 3 pc falafel. The chicken and kefta were grilled to order. I saw them put the raw meat on the grill right behind the counter. They were both amazing. The chicken came out perfectly grilled with a red tint to it from the spices. When you cut into the kefta you could see the spices and herbs mixed in with the meat. Their kefta was unlike anything I have had before, I could eat it all day long! The hummus was smooth and silky, another winner. Now for the tabbouleh, so fresh and clean tasting. The falafel was crunchy on the outside and hot and steamy in the middle (spicy as well which I thoroughly enjoyed). Last but not least, the baba ghanoush was delightful (no surprise since everything else was amazing as well). The meal came with three side sauces which were all tasty, especially the red spicy one (I don't remember what they were called). Oh yeah, the pita chips were thin strips of crispy slices of pita bread, which were perfect for scooping up all the awesome dips and sauces. Well done Zam Zamz! I will be back and have already told several of my friends about your awesome restaurant. Keep up the good work!
(5)A L.
Great healthy hood, friendly staff, clean, what more can I say, I will be back....
(4)Justin L.
My wife and I love Zam Zamz! I always order a lamb and beef gyro, and a small side of Hummus. The hummus is made in house, and makes Sabra hummus look like wallpaper paste. The fried pita chips, while greasy, are a lovely accompaniment to this quick meal. Make sure to ask for some "mild" hot sauce (it is hot sauce mixed with tzatziki, and is AMAZING!).
(5)Tim B.
We had lunch at Zam Zam's and it was worth the wait. They were crowded the food is excellent well worth the trip from Arlington
(5)Led D.
This place is actually pretty good for a chain. The falafel were moist in the inside and crunchy from the outside. The hummus was like butter, it spread easy and tasted great with everything. The beef and chicken kabob were marinated perfectly. It had a hint of lemon with other spices like tumuric, curry, ginger, pepper and salt. Both chicken and beef were juicy and held its own flavor from the inside and a beautiful sear from the outside. The gyro is large with lots of meat, fresh vegetables, delicious sauces and the secret ingredient is "freshly made" pita bread. Mix it together, it becomes a scrumptious meal. The place is pretty new and clean with an open kitchen. You could see your meal getting made. The staff are friendly and always willing to help whether your a first timer or a regular. Also pretty nice to your wallet, it does not ask too much. My wife really loved it and we will definitely come back!
(4)Kristen H.
Wonderful!! This place is clean, fast, and delicious! We grabbed a spicy chicken plate and a beef shawarma plate and both were great. The hummus is killer, rice pilaf is shockingly flavorful, and the pitas are fresh and thick. We ordered fries and wished we hadn't- they were great, but everything else was healthier and tastier! Also, the plates are served with some Mediterranean version of garlic bread. The whole kitchen crew was speaking another language while cooking and were super friendly when we ordered!!
(5)Steven M.
I love this place. The falafel is so good, as an app or in a pita. The hummus is top notch as well. I went when they first opened and have been back at least 1 a month since and this place never disappoints. Always made fresh and taste the same way. I would recommend Zam Zamz to anybody with an appetite for Mediterranean food.
(5)Ed D.
Finally! A Middle Eastern / Mediterranean in Memphis that is worth it. This place is great. The food is very fresh and I have yet to try anything here that I didn't like. They make the pita bread in house and it goes great with the hummus. Falafel wrap is probably my favorite. I wish this place was closer to where I live.
(5)Jenny J.
Best Mediterranean food in Memphis! My favorites are falafel and huumus but everything I've tried so far was excellent. Their grilled meat are tender and flavorful and even the rice tastes good. I have become a regular customer there. Prices are very, very reasonable; the service is good; and the staff is friendly!
(5)Trisha H.
Fabulous!! I'm not from around here, but when I visited my family for Christmas this year, my mom took me out for lunch to ZamZamz. Absolutely wonderful! The owner was really friendly and answered any questions I had about the menu! Tables were clean and food was fantastic. I tried the Chicken Shwarma. The Pitas are made in store every day and they are THE BEST Pitas I've ever had! Highly recommend this place! Try the fresh hummus and pita chips! Miles better than Sabra or other grocery hummus brands!! :)
(5)Candace B.
I really like this place; something different for lunch...all that is in this area is mostly fast food. The hummus was good not to garlicky. If you order a pita for the hummus it is huge you will only need one. They did offer me pita chips the last time in and they are homemade and awesome but not at all healthy. The falafels are great they are not the best ever but I really do like them always crunchy on the outside. This place is small and fills up quick around noon and the guys work hard but it is not always super fast...so be warned not good for large groups I really like this place for take out.
(3)Ernesto C.
Good restaurant, the kabob platters are very good, altough pricey. Be sure to ask for Basmati rice on your plattter, it makes a great difference, also, the Baba Ghanoush with pita bread is excellent. The only thing I would like is a little more variety of dishes, right now, they only offer Shawarnas and Kabobs, but Middle Eastern food can offer a lot more. Nevertheless, it is a very good experience.
(4)Jeana L.
Absolutely delicious! Everything is extremely fresh and portions are generous. Lentil soup, falafel, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, and hummus are outstanding. Also got the chicken kabobs and have been enjoying leftovers for two days! As tasty as everything served is on its own, the sauces add flair and flavor and should not be missed!
(4)Almis G.
Everything is delicious and fresh .I love taboleeh, hummus , spicy chicken and Greek salad .... Very Great place !!! I recommend it!!!
(5)Mariah S.
The food is amazing and you get a large portion. The service is excellent! The price is right! Love it!
(5)Brandon C.
Fantastic dinner! Hummus and falafel were amazing. Chicken shawarma was great. Enjoyed the Kabob, Basmati Rice, Baba Ganoush, and especially the wonderful staff.
(5)Omar I.
I love the food here it's great. I'm Arabic and it's hard to find places that make real falafel. And this restaurant is one of few that make them right. Try it out if you like real Mediterranean food.
(5)Angelo T.
I finally tried this place after a coworker told me how good their shawarma is so my girlfriend and I went and all I can say is it was awesome! The food is very affordable and the employees are really nice. For first timers, I would suggest to get chicken shawarma.
(4)Erin N.
This has to be one of my favorite places in east memphis. The food is always good, never expensive, and the guys who work here are so nice everytime. Try the pita chips! Sometimes I come just for those. Highly recommended.
(5)Lucy F.
To Die For Greek!!! So very delicious, and tucked away in a strip mall. Delightful owner--generous portions--hip decor. I'll be back many many times.
(5)CC D.
Yummy! I had a chicken shawarma wrap and fries. Total was just over $8 which I think is reasonable given the quality of the food. The wrap was a warm, soft pita folded in half (rather than a flat tortilla type wrap) which made it better in my opinion. I'm pretty sure the fries were hand cut. Staff was very friendly and helpful - and the service was fast. I'll definitely be back!
(5)Eugene O.
Really tasty Gyros. The price was competitive and the servings were huge. I especially liked the Sides. And the Pita bread..wow! Oven fresh and warm! Yup... They'll see me again for sure!
(4)Dean H.
Really really good. Normally a Petra guy, I have found a great competitor in ZamZamz!! Service was great and fast. Went above and beyond by letting us sample some pita chips when we were done eating. Salad was huge, meat tasty and everything fresh. We will be back sooner than later.
(5)A Z.
First of all, the pictures are not representative of the food which is served. Many of the initial pictures were probably posted by the restaurant and are not indicative of how the sides are served. My baba ghanoush was served in a plastic cup, not garnished with parsley a little flower... Honesty is the best policy in my book - don't lead someone to believe they are getting something they are not. I ordered spicy chicken in a pita and lentil soup. The chicken was spicy, I liked the sauce. The chicken itself had some rubbery pieces, like it had been sitting a while. The flavor and quality of the chicken were fine, other than that. I agree with one of the other reviews which claimed the pita bread was bland. It needs a little salt or something to give it a little flavor... I wasn't a fan of the baba ghanoush, but I am certainly not an expert on the dish. It could have been the best BG this side of the Mississippi and I wouldn't know... The lentil soup had a nice flavor. I'd probably refer to it as lentil "broth" though. Other than some onions floating around and some mashed lentils, there wasn't much to it. It was light and a good accompaniment to the meal, however. A little pricey at $3.99 for a small cup. The drink selection is pretty sparse. I'm not sure why people default to four stars on their reviews. This restaurant is a solid three. I will return there to try some shawarma and see if it rivals the shawarma that I've had in the Middle East.

I have had lunch here twice and will continue to go back. The hummus is much creamier than what I normally make, but the flavor is all there! The pita chips that are served with the hummus are fried, which I think makes them a bit greasy, but the pita is made in house. I love walking into a Greek/Mediterranean place and seeing the lamb meat being sliced off of a large vertical spit- and Zam Zamz does it right! The meat is tender and very flavorful, and mixed with the house-made pita and tzatziki makes a wonderful gyro. The falafel is also great. I plan to try all of their items, especially the skewers. Both times I went for lunch the service was great- very friendly and patient while I took my time to decide. It is an open style line service, meaning they have all of the ingredients lined up behind a low window and make it in front of you. Don't let thank put you off- this is incredibly flavorful food, and most of it is made in house.

Great food and its very affordable. I come in frequently to grab lunch because it's pretty quick. Most of the employees are friendly to me.

Okay 4 star only because the meat was a little crispy, it could've been a little fresher. Meat aside my dish was very flavorful and fresh. I will definitely return, to try something new.

I have visited Zam Zamz on two separate occasions now. On my first visit, we ordered the Shawarma Chicken plate with baba ganoush and tabbouleh and the Kefta kabob plate with hummus and falafel. The Shawarma chicken is absolutely delicious. The traditional spices used are very prominent, in a great way. The baba ganoush and tabbouleh were both delicious, as well. My only complaint about the hummus would be the consistency - it is a bit runny for my taste and depending on who makes it, it can have too much olive oil. As for the Kefta kabob plate (a ground up mixture of lamb and beef), it was good, but we wouldn't order it again. It comes with brown or basmati rice - you can't go wrong with their basmati rice! Our order came with pita because we ordered hummus. I ordered 2 extra pieces as well. I'm glad I did because it was great! Very light and fluffy on the inside. We were also given two different sauces - one a spicy mayo type sauce and the other, a cucumber sauce. Again, both have good flavor, but too runny for my liking. The customer service was excellent and my check was only $21.00! I visited Zam Zamz again tonight, about a month after my first visit. This time I came to the restaurant and placed my order. Its super clean inside and the decor is cute. They have plastic chairs for seating, but they were comfortable. I ordered the Shawarma Chicken plate (with hummus and tabbouleh) again, and the Gyro with hummus. The Shawarm Chicken was just as good as it was last time. But we did not receive any of the spicy mayo that came with it like before. The Gyro was good - it wasn't great, though. It seemed a bit dry and over-cooked. The pita was fresh, as well as the tomato and onion salad that comes on it. It seriously lacked spice. Again, we did not get any of the spicy mayo that should have come with it. I actually ended up going back up there as they were closing to get the spicy mayo and some hot sauce (or I wouldn't have finished the Gyro). We also didn't get any pita that should have come with both of our orders. So, we actually didn't have enough pita to eat our hummus. We also had the Greek Salad, which was very fresh. The dressing was light and tangy. And for dessert, we had the baklava - it was delicious as well. Overall, the food at Zam Zamz is really good, especially for the price. I was pretty annoyed that I had to drive back up to the restaurant to get the hot sauces that should have come with our meal. And the fact that we didn't have any pita pissed me off, to be honest. I wasn't going back up there a third time. Moral of the story - the food is good, just double check your order before you go.

Not since Israel have I experienced such incredible, fresh, wonderful Mediterranean food. Everything is made here, fresh, multiple times a day. Try the Shwarma gyro with hummus. ZamZamz is a true gem that I'd expect to find swamped with patrons in New York or San Francisco.

The kebab is so worth the wait. Do yourself a favour and try it.

Zam Zamz is freaking awesome! This is the best shawarma I've had in Memphis! I can't wait to try all the other items on the menu!

My husband and I ate here yesterday. We both had gyros with hummus. Best gyro I've ever had. The hummus was superb! The service was good. We spent about $17 total, which was definitely worth it. We were so full!

My wife and I had been wanting to eat here for a few weeks and we were not disappointed when we finally did! The food is authentic, delicious, and well priced! We will definitely come here more frequently now that we know how good it is.

What a great experience. Spouse and I shared the Kabobs and Falafels , both were very good. One of the best Mediterranean Rest close to Germantown and Collierville.

I bought a groupon from here a couple of weeks ago and ever since I've been back here at least 3 times a week. The food here is amazing. Everything is fresh and you can tell that it is. They bake their own pitas which are warm and fluffy. The chicken shawarma is my favorite, great flavor and spices. Best hummus I've ever had. Everywhere else I've tried I never really enjoyed. All their other sides are excellent too. Customer service is very friendly and fast. My go to lunch spot now, and I suppose every body else's too because it is always packed during lunch time!!

Fantastic food and service! We will be back to try all they have to offer. We had the beef&lamb gyros with rice and tried an order of the falafel, all of the food was hot and well seasoned. This beats the regular food choices in the area.

We think ZamZams is great! It far outweighs the quality and taste of the other mediterranean offering in Germantown. The pitas are fresh and delicious, and the flafels are out of the world! Super happy to have them here!

Quick, in and out, no bells and whistles Mediterranean food. More like a fast-food joint in terms of appearance and execution. You order your food at one end of the counter and wait at the other end. The staff is low-key. The atmosphere/decor is low-key. Don't go expecting an experience like Petra Cafe or Casablanca. That's not a drawback, though. It's a nice change of pace to have the opportunity to grab a decent, quick Mediterranean meal. I had the lamb/beef gyro and a side of baba-ganoush. The food was very good, not out of this world, but good enough to keep me coming back as a regular. Best part--grabbed a good gyro and baba-ganoush and expended less time eating lunch than it takes to eat at your typical Panera. Prices are similar to the other fast-casual restaurants as well. Nice change of pace and worth a try.

This place has hands down the best falafel in Memphis. The portion size is generous and the falafel is delicious. We ordered the hummus too and it was great as well. The interior of the restaurant is very clean and the employees are very friendly as well. If you want traditional falafel, go here!

Good shawarma.. Still exploring other dishes .. Nice place ..a good addition to Memphis list of restaurants.. a Mediterranean fast food

Nice addition to Memphis. The baba ghonoush was wonderful, excellent balance of spices the day we tried it. The pitas are nice and warm and fluffy and fresh - not the hard, stale, squished kind so many places have. The gyros were wonderful - but ask for the sauce on the side as this place serves their pitas not wrapped but they actually open the pita and use it as a pocket. The sauce does not get distributed well so ask for it on the side. The sauce itself is ok...little on the bland side but still a decent accompaniment to the spiced lamb/beef combo meat. One drawback to this place is that the chairs used for seating are plastic lawn-type chairs. I understand keeping overhead low, but these things are so uncomfortable to sit in. I like the fact that they have bottled drinks and not just carbonated ones for you to drink. The Cokes from Mexico are pretty excellent. The staff are friendly and explained dishes to my friend, who had never had baba ghanoush (SP) before. Nice portions for the price.

You can call ZamZamz a Mediterranean Grill, but it's really just Middle-Eastern food. (You don't want to scare the customers.) The Greek Salad that I had was good, with a sweet-tangy dressing, and the portion was very large. My only complaint was there wasn't enough feta. The menu is typical of a middle-eastern restaurant with falafels, gyros, hummus, baba-ganoush, etc. but a little only the pricey side ($7-$12), but I guess you're paying for the location. The decor is modern if not a little spartan. And the staff is not overly friendly, but that won't deter me from coming back. Worth a try.
