I went here a few nights ago and it was freezing outside. A homeless lady came in to warm up and they let her sit on the bench for a while. It was very sweet. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and it was delish! I love this place!

Not impressed at all. Had Chinese food a while back and remember enough that I've never wanted it again. Tried a sub today and it was ok but nothing great. New York sub with meats, onions, oil and a little lettuce. They also microwaved it which just doesn't sit well with me. It was cold in the middle with chewy microwave ends. The meats seemed to be decent quality but I will probably not try this place again for a long while. Food was quick and the people working were nice enough.

First of all, I think the most important thing I can write here is that I really enjoy this place. I am satisfied with the food, the service is great and it's conveniently located to where I spend a lot of my time. That out of the way, I think it's also important to define what Yang's is and is not. Don't go to Yang's expecting it to compare with many of the other delis and sandwhich shops in town, however, do expect them to blow the pants off any of the other fast-food chains you might otherwise go to for lunch. If I have the time to drive around the city and to fill a particular craving, I won't go to Yang's, but if I want want good, quick food, Yang's is great. I enjoy their gyros, wings and cheesesteak. I'm a Louisiana native and while their muffuletta isn't very authentic, it is still a very good sandwhich - call it muffuletta inspired - at a good price.

Yang's is the sort of odd little family restaurant that makes you happy to be an explorer of roadside dives. Occupying a rundown but clean little building, the place seems to be crammed practically up to the curb on Summer Ave. Once inside, you will find attentive service at the order counter. Though the family is of Chinese descent, the Chinese food is barely average, but the sandwiches are very good and a great value. They are prepared to order, they use real cheeses, respectably good quality meats, and freshly baked bread. The French fries which accompany are served crisp and fresh from the oil. The grilled sandwiches are memorably good. I have eaten there many times when I need a quick, inexpensive meal. Best of all, in doing so, I am supporting a local family as they give their best to their customers.

Best of both worlds. Great Chinese take out with a mix of deli items. There Muffelata is surprisingly good. Atmosphere is quiet and the staff is friendly.

I eat here once a week for lunch. Sandwiches are very good, and the Chinese is better than most around town. Don't judge it by the decor. It's not a pretty place, but what really matters the most? The food. And it's consistently delicious

Hubby & I tried the Philly cheese steak sandwich & wasn't impressed. We didn't like that the meat wasn't thinly sliced. Looked like they use the same meat they use for the Chinese menu. Sandwich was bland. Really horrible. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing but not interested in going back to try again.

This joint makes the typical hole-in-the-wall shack look like a 5-star Michelin restaurant. But if you're on Summer Avenue and have to have a gyro or muffaletta than you could do worse. My gyro tasted the way a gyro was suppose to taste and the price was right. (I really wanted to give Yang's 2.5 stars but Yelp won't let me). Call ahead for a reservation.

Above average food. Very nice people. Sort of a jack of all trades but master of none to be perfectly honest. Gyros, muffulettas, clubs, burgers, and Chinese food. Gyro is good but simple. They put crack on fries I think.

Yang's (Mediterranean) Deli... LOL. It isn't high asian cuisine folks I love this place. I just wish it were closer to my house. Never had anything from there that wasn't delicious. I've never had the pizza or the chinese offerings, only the sandwiches and muffeletas. Be aware, that there don't seem to be a lot of people eating there in the evenings. It seems to be primarily a lunch place so for those of you who worry about a place because it isn't constantly busy...don't worry. Yang's food is DELICIOUS.

Definitely a hole in the wall restaurant but by far some of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Highly, highly recommend the Gyros and the Fried Rice- neither will disappoint your appetite. The staff is very friendly, and the prices are more than reasonable. Enjoy!

I've been eating here for quite awhile now. The staff is very considerate and happy. I am in love with the Muffaletta sandwich, but only order half because the whole is way too big! =)

Do not pass this place by. If you're the selective type, you'll want to, but don't. It's a little place that'll leave you with a happy belly. It's an interesting, smile-inducing selection: subs and Chinese. Yum to both. You'll also find burgers, gyros, and shrimp. And the prices are so reasonable for the tasty food -- four pieces of chicken $4.99, gyros are only $6.99, and Philly cheesesteaks for only $5.49.

Good sandwiches. Gyro very good. Philly cheesesteak very good per my husband. Muffuletta very good, but salty, because of the olive salad. This was my first muffuletta, so I was surprised. Still a very good sandwich.

Just absolutely gross. Their Gyro is so basic. If you want a good Gyro, go to Petra Cafe. The deli sub I ordered was on super white bread, made with very cheap chopped up deli meat. I couldn't even finish it. To top it off there was a black hair in the red dish they served it on.

Subs, gyros, muffalettas... And Chinese food. But this Asian-owned deli is no joke. I've never had the Chinese food from this place, but judging from the pictures, it's your standard fare. But the sandwiches, and specifically the muffelletta, shine with the resplendance of o a thousand robust deli flavor. The atmosphere is nothin fancy, as well it should not be. Keep yangs down and dirty!

Mr. Yang must be putting something in his sandwiches other than food, because I've been here in Memphis for 24 hrs now and have eaten here 3 times already haha. Yes its a whole-in-the-wall place, but that little Chinese man makes one hell of a sandwich! If ever there was an example of "dont judge a book by its cover" this would be #1. It's family run, they use quality products, and are extremely friendly. I ordered the Reuben and was beyond happy. Again, its just a little hole-in-the-wall place, but its cheap, tasty, and fast. This place will definitely be a regular stop on my trips to Memphis that I routinely make through the year.

Very good Chinese food. I had the spicy beef. Kids had sweet sour chicken and chicken and broccoli. Vey happy with it all. Don't let the out side fool you.

Great Chinese food, and great sandwiches. They do focus more on quantity rather than quality, so go when you're really hungry. It deserves a solid 3 1/2 stars for sure.

Yang's Deli has been around for a long time. Growing up in this town, I've been a patron and fan for many years. It's nothing fancy to look at, and the location could be better, but the food is first rate. it's a deli, so you can expect the usual selection of sandwiches such as Reuben's, clubs and the like. But my favorite is their out-of-this-world muffaletta. I get it every single time and it's always great. Actually, it's almost lunch time. I think I might have to pay Mr. Yang a visit today myself. :)

I've been to this joint a few times and love it. The owner is a wonderful guy, and great conversationalist. The food is also better than average. I encourage one and all to check it out.

Ate here for the first time, and I must say, I was impressed. I ordered 1/2 muffaletta and 1 gyro. (I couldn't decide between my 2 favorites, so why not try both?!) I phoned the order in, with a few special requests...this usually ends up in a mistake somehow, but Yang's got it right 100%. My muffaletta was AWESOME. I can see why it's so highly recommended. The gyro was very good....a little on the greasy side, but I would order it again. After looking at their menu, I know I have to go back. Prices & selection are just too good not to! **UPDATE** The philly cheesesteak is just as good! I'm hooked.

Been going here for years. When I have a need for a good gyro I always find myself here. Atmosphere is very simple but the staff is very friendly.

    BEST Gyros around!

This places defines ad hoc. There are handwritten signs everywhere, attached to whatever happens to be in proximity, such as the "sweet tea" sign taped to the power cord of the sweet tea machine. It's the kind of place where you overhear an employee muttering "f***ing n****r" after they returned some food and were out the door. However, you aren't here for that. You're here for a cheap sandwich that doesn't suck, and that's exactly what you'll get. I was in search of a place that does Gyro's around my workplace, and they serve it up, pretty cheap, relatively quick, and without a whole lot of fuss. The Gyro was great, the fries were your standard fare, and it was a 5 minute drive from work.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
