I tried the Slider Inn with an open heart, I really did. But there's just too many things wrong with the place. Their beer selection is atrocious; all domestics, with no local beers, and half of them are your cheap lagers (the others are decent, but nothing you'd want to write home about). This is a sticking point for me, because Slider Inn is in Midtown. Every restaurant in the 38104 has a great drink selection, so why is Slider Inn so mediocre? The lobster roll that everyone raves about? It's average. I may be spoiled in that my family made great lobster rolls when I was a kid (and no, we're not from New England), but it was bland on top of bland. For some odd reason it's a bright pink color, and the only real taste besides a faint hint of lobster is lemon juice. It has big chunks of lobster, always a bonus, which is why it was such a letdown. It comes on a grilled open-top bun, which was buttered and fried on a griddle. Think lobster on a grilled cheese, except not as awesome as that sounds. Nowhere near justifying the $18 price tag. I tried the make-your-own 3 sliders....disappointing. The chicken slider (Lowrider) was pretty good, but the two beef ones were terribly dry. I'm not sure why our server ranted about the bourbon mayo....it tastes like a sweet Miracle Whip. I almost vomited a bit just typing that. The place is cramped and over-priced for what it is. It could be a cool little burger joint for us night owls (open till 3 am is awesome), but it was just a letdown. For less money, I could go to Huey's and have my taste buds orgasm every time.

Updating my review from 2-4 stars because the service has shown an improvement over my last 3 visits. Holding out hope that it stays that way. As it is, this place is hard to beat in its price range, and the Lowrider is a great change of pace from most things midtown has to offer.

Great deck and super location but I sorta think of this as another Cafe Ole. Has the location and deck but just doesn't have good food. I lived 30 seconds away for a few years and only went a couple times as the food just wasn't that good. Aldo does know how to make a good sugar fry though. We had big groups each time and everyones food was subpar.

Finally!!! I made it to Slider Inn. It's quite sad that it took me soo long to make it, since it's in my hood. They have a decent sized patio, which recently had a roof added. The patio is very casual - picnic table style. The menu was minimal, but I didn't expect pages and pages of slider selections. There was an option to mix & match - 3 sliders for $9-ish dollars. When I was there, they had a special slider, the falafal. It was delicious. The menu also had 2 other veggie options, which were equally yumola. Although, it was on the pricey side, in my option, I enjoyed my sliders, fries and beer. The service was good and I loved the check presentation. Mini clipboards, which, of course, were spattered with graffiti. Such a creative and clever touch. I'll be back, for sure. Given Stephanie J's review, I may have to go back for brunch!!

I've been to the Slider Inn twice now. The first time, I had a mixture of sliders (one lowrider and two of the burger sliders). They were okay, nothing that just absolutely stood out but not bad either. The fries are fairly plain, but the atmosphere of the place is cool. I do at least like the inclusion of the plexiglass windows to cover part of the patio area in case it gets windy, so that's a plus. The second time I went, I had the lobster roll. The lobster was very fresh, don't get me wrong, but it was a VERY small portion. It's also advertised as being on a "New England hot dog bun" but it looked like a small toasted Wonder Bread bun. For the price, I wouldn't get the lobster roll again. Is this one of the top places I consider when going out for lunch or dinner? Nah, not really. However, if I'm out late with friends bar hopping then this place would be an excellent way to conclude the night since the late night food offerings are fairly slim in this area unless you want to eat fast food.

I've been wanting to try Slider Inn since it opened. I had heard mixed reviews about it, but thought it was going to be delicious. Mainly, because I love sliders. However, it didn't "wow" me, like I had expected. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, and would love to go sit on the patio. The bloody Mary I drank was good too. I ordered the Lowriders, which were grilled chicken sliders with fries. The sliders were good and very well cooked, but again, didn't "wow" me. I'm hoping to go back, sit on the patio and try something new!

There is something about this place that just keeps us coming back every weekend. The food is really good. They have 3 different vegetarian-friendly sliders: falafel, fried egg and veggie burger. That in it of itself is a miracle of sorts in this town! So YAY! SLIDER INN! Then, they have a really nice laid back atmosphere outside in the patio (now they even have a heated patio area for the winter). The servers are super friendly. OK, I said super friendly, which doesn't necessarily translate into super efficient. This is more of a laid-back place where you can just relax and be yourself. If you are an uptight, necktie kind of person, you may not like it. Some other person giving a review complained that they had waited on the outside patio for 15 minutes before seeing a waiter. That sort of thing does happen. It actually happened to us yesterday. We sat down in the empty patio and waited for 3 minutes, when nobody came out, one of us went in and told them we were out. That was all that was needed, remember this is a bar not a white-cloth restaurant. All I can say is that at this place my glass never gets empty and I wish I could say the same thing about many upscale restaurants in town.

I've only been here once, and I can't say that I was disappointed; however, I'm not compelled to return. I asked for my sliders plain with lettuce on them. They still charged me for the small bit of lettuce they put on the burgers, even though I told them to hold the condiments they would have put on them. It's a small irritation, but it didn't make the place look great. On a more positive note, the service was pretty good as were the fries.

Lousy service, so-so food. Krystal has better service food and ambience if you're looking for a slider.

The atmosphere and service is good, however the food is just okay. I went up there the other night to check this place out as I haven't been in yet. With a name like Slider Inn, I would have expected their Sliders to really wow me, but that unfortunately wasn't the case. I got a sampling of the Original Memphis slider, the Mushroom & Swiss slider, and the Blue Cheese and Onion slider. Also, not being a fries person, I opted for the other side of potato salad. Of the 3, the Original Memphis was the best. It had decent flavor and was pretty enjoyable. The Mushroom and Swiss slider was okay. I couldn't really taste the swiss cheese, and could barely taste the mushrooms. The slider I liked the least was the Blue Cheese and Onion. I couldn't taste the blue cheese at all. The onions were okay, but the lack of blue cheese flavor which is a main component was a major factor in making this one my least favorite of the 3. The potato salad was very bland and the chunks of potatoes were tiny. When I'm eating a potato salad, I like to actually bite into bits of potato, however they were so small I really didn't get the potato flavor. On the upside the beer selection is decent and the outdoor patio is nice, I just wish the food had a little more flavor to it.

The hubs and I were looking for a "Huey's alternative" and dropped into this cozy little spot. So glad we did! We split The Big Deuce & the lobster bisque, and both were so tasty. We also ordered some wings to go. We like them extra crispy & these were fried to perfection. I loved the ambience- low key and laid back. Not sure why this little gem only has three stars. We'll definitely visit again.

I googled Slider Inn and of course Yelp came up in the search. I was reading the reviews and just had to sign up just so I could address one thing - THERE IS NO BAN ON CHILDREN. They allow smoking. So, in accordance with state law, they have to be 21 and up. Come on, people. It's essentially a bar that serves food. Would you really want to bring your children?

  • Matt S.

Turned away once from the patio for dinner because we had our 1 month old in a stroller (21 and over!). Thought we'd try again a few months later without kids, and turned away again because my wife had her recently expired license with her (picked up wrong one). We're 36 years old!!! Short female server had major attitude. Apparently we're way too old to be going there. Would not attempt to go back. There are much better spots in midtown and beer selection there is awful.

Took 30 minutes to get appetizer, after I asked about it. I was then told ohh it's ready. They did take it off the bill! Had spinach & artichoke dip, was average. Ate sliders and the mayo. Fries were good, place was not busy, took almost 10 minutes to get bill after we asked for it. Not a great addition to Cooper Young.

A good variety of sliders that reach outside the norm of a typical beef slider, I usually end up with chicken and pork in some form. BLT Fried Green Tomato on Thursday is a must. Staff is friendly and service is usually quick.

There has been a lot of buzz about Slider Inn lately, so I was excited to check it out when a group of friends and I went there after a wedding recently. It was the Saturday night after Cooper Young festival, so I was a little bit nervous showing up and expecting to get a table for 10-15 people. However, we were lucky enough to not have to wait longer than 20 minutes. We all got seated and orders drinks from our server Lauren, who was super sweet and very good at her job. I was excited to see that they had Yazoo beer on their list, so that is what I ordered. I also ordered the sliders while I was there. I had heard great things about the lobster roll. However, my wallet is a little sad, and I could not justify spending $16.00 on a lobster roll. I wanted to try a few of the sliders by getting their deal where I can mix and match three sliders. However, they were not serving this, along with half of their menu, due to Cooper Young Fest. This irked me a little bit. Mainly because the restaurant was not shoulder to shoulder packed. All the seats were full, but it did not seem crazy. Therefore, I settled for the mushroom swiss sliders, because I was really craving a burger. My friend Rhea ordered the traditional sliders with mayo, ketchup, and pickle, so I traded one of mine for one of hers. This way I can at least try two different ones. The chicken sliders looked awesome, but something in me just wanted a burger. The sliders come with a side of fries and some sort of mayonnaise dipping sauce for them as well. The burgers were good, but I do not think they were anything to write home about. I know of better burgers in the city. I liked the sourdough bread (though it was a bit cold), and I also liked the thickness of the patties. Everything tasted as it should, but there was just something missing. The fries were delicious, and many people seem to love them. I am more of a steak fry kinda girl, but I could appreciate how good these were. The main part of my experience that irked me at Slider Inn was the price of liquor. I ordered a shot of Grand Marnier, for which I later found out they charged me ten bucks. I have never in my life paid $10 for a shot, not even at upscale places. Overall, Slider Inn was fun. They have a great patio with a lively atmosphere. This is the kind of place you go to have a few drinks with a good group of friends on a night with perfect weather. This is exactly what I did. The food is there to soak up the alcohol, but nothing too special. It's your typical bar food. Stay away from this and the expensive shots, and enjoy your night with a couple of beers and a good crowd.

  • Fina S.

My hubby and I went there after reading the reviews about the" LOBSTER ROLLS"....I am completely confused! After having the lobster rolls-we don't get it! THEY ARE NOTHING SPECIAL! Bit and tiny pieces of lobster???? WIth almot a $20.00 per lobster roll price tag-we thought we would be getting LARGE pieces of succulent lobster-not bits and pieces! The Bloody Mary mix they make is fabulous...but they would taste a whole lot better if they put vodka in them! Short on liquor..long on pricing..We spent almost $100.00 on a mini dinner for bits of lobster and no alcohol bloody mary's! Whoa Nelly!!!!!

I wish I could do 3.5 stars. I really, really want to like this place, if only because of the location and the expansive deck. With the weather finally getting reasonable, I feel like I'm wasting it by sitting inside. So, the deck here has made up for a lot of shortcomings. Like a few other reviewers have said, service is iffy. I've been served promptly and amiably on busy Friday nights and I've waited and waited for a server on slow weekday evenings. It's easy to write this off as a new place working the kinks out - it seems like servers aren't always sure of their assignments, so some people get overlooked - but, still. Also, shots are VERY EXPENSIVE, as another reviewer said. They have a good mix of reasonably-priced beers, but shots of Jameson cost us something like $8 apiece. I'd think that if you want to be successful in Midtown long-term, you have to either have reasonably-priced shots or let people bring in their own liquor. It's not like they're staking their claim on their cocktails or anything, so carrying liquor can't be sustainable if you're going to charge exorbitant amounts for it - especially in Midtown. All of that being said, the food is really good. I usually get the Lowrider, which is chicken, avocado, an aioli sauce, and a few other things. I have a vegetarian friend who loves the Veggae Reggae. And the fries, with the sublime bourbon mayo, are a delight (although I wish they gave you just a small handful more). The burgers are just okay - nothing remarkable, but they'll do. They're a little overcooked for my taste, which is probably more due to their size than anything. I'd imagine that it's pretty difficult to cook such a small patty to a good medium-rare. Essentially, my opinion of this place is that it has unbelievable amounts of potential as a bar that serves food, as opposed to a restaurant that serves drinks. If shots were more affordable and service was more consistent, I would probably be by here every weekend. They seem to consider themselves to be more of a restaurant than a bar, though, which really misses the potential of the great physical space that they have. As a sidenote, I put way more thought than was reasonable into my decision between 3 and 4 stars for this place. I'm generally very forgiving of new-restaurant kinks, but with the pedigree that the ownership of this place has, I expected less of them than usual. That being said, I fully expect to be bumping my review up to four stars as they grow into the place a little bit.

Tried 3 different sliders with a side of fries and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The service was very good although it was quiet, earlier in the evening. We also visited on a warm day, so the patio wasn't packed, but it seems like it would be a good place when the temps drop a little. We mixed and matched the offerings: Memphis Classic, Bleu Cheese & Carmelized Onions, & the Grilled Chicken. All 3 were well seasoned and well balanced with the ingredients assembled on the buns. Shoestring fries were crisp, hot, and salty that went very nicely with a homemade mayo. Yum! We understand that it will be possible for customers to add ingredients and that there will be more choices by tomorrow. My husband and I agreed that our choices didn't require other ingredients. The draft beer selection is better than most bars. Not a huge selection at the moment, but a decent variety. We will definitely return and look forward to seeing the expanded menu.

Slider Inn is one of my "Go To" spots after a night of bar hopping in midtown. Their food is delicious and their staff is friendly. It has not disappointed so far. Considering my previous statement you may assume that I am basing my review on my post-alcohol-induced euphoria, however you would be incorrect. Slider Inn makes genuinely good food. I have been here many times and every time I find that their quality has been consistently delicious. There food is mostly mini sandwiches/burgers or "sliders". The servings are quite large. One order is more than enough for myself. Their shoestring fries are also very good. I will mention that their burgers seem a little more healthy than what I prefer. That isn't to say that it isn't good. Rather, if you are like me and enjoy having a burger that makes your fingers greasy even when you're only touching the bun, you will not find that here. Their burgers are, for lack of a better term, "fresco style" (sorry for stealing a Taco Bell term). They're much healthier and more garden-y and very delicious. Food: 4/5 Slider Inn is tiny. It is really small. If you are like my parents and enjoy sitting indoors, you might not have that opportunity. They have, probably 10 total tables inside, excluding the bar seats and their two center tables are long tables for groups of 6 or more. It is very tight. They do have a wonderful patio however which i thoroughly enjoy. It is all very clean and very well kept. I tend to imagine the Slider Inn as one of those lone diners along a stretch of interstate where there is nothing else around. It has that look and feel. Most of the interior is metal. It almost feels like it should be lined with corrugated aluminum inside in order to compete the ambience or the entire building replaced with a diner car but keeping the patio of course (I think this would actually make it even better and fit their atmosphere). They have a jukebox and are open quite late making them one of the best paces to go after you've decided you've had enough of the bars. It really is a fantastic experience. Atmosphere: 5/5 Most everything that is on their menu is a good deal. The quality of the food and the speed which it is delivered, plus the awesome hours that they have all make the price you pay very reasonable. Certainly it's not as cheap as McDs or Taco Bell, but sometimes you want a change from the typical late night food. You just can't go wrong with dropping a few shekels here. Value: 3/5 The staff here have never been rude or slow - and keep in mind they are sometimes dealing with rowdy drunk people. I have been here too many times to count and I have never heard anyone say, "The service could have been better." It's always great. Their staff should be very proud that they manage such an impressively operated restaurant. Even when it has been packed I've never experienced a problem,. Remember if you arrive late and there are no tables because it's packed, that's not the fault of the restaurant. Service: 4/5 As a restaurant in Memphis serving burgers in an otherwise overcrowded burger slinging town, Slider Inn stands out as one of my personal favorites. It should not be missed if you are looking for a new restaurant to add to your dining repertoire.

So far, I haven't met a slider that I didn't like. Have tried the mushroom and Swiss and the vegan. Loved them both. The chicken one was OK, too. Incredible potato salad.

Have been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally made it happen. I went on a Sunday and the $4 bloody marry was just like I like them with plenty of horseradish. I ordered the Original Memphis (burger sliders) and they were seasoned to perfection. The best thing about this place is their string (fast food) french fries. I wish this place offered Ghost River on tap but they make up for it by having Fat Tire. This place looks like a perfect place for a late night meal. The front deck is fantastic and I can't wait to try it out this spring.

Overrated. Loved the decor, but everyone raved about the Lobster Roll and I really don't get the hype. It's served on a Wonder bread hotdog bun and could use some oomph. It literally tastes like lobster meat with a touch of mayo and a hint of celery. Fries are really good. I'd heard from several people that their patio is usually swarming with mosquitos so I sat inside and found myself swatting flies away from my food every few minutes. I tasted my friend's sliders and couldn't understand the hype there either. You'd do your mouth a favor by taking your burger craving around the corner to Cafe 1912 or down the street to Young Avenue Deli.

We have been to Slider Inn 6 times since they opened and were planning on making it our local neighborhood bar; however, that came to an end last night. They are quickly starting to provide bad service, cold food, and of course Aldo is serving up his arrogant attitude! Remember midtowners will be very loyal and keep you in business; however, our word of mouth will quickly put you out of business. Don't mess around with what is already a simple menu, don't limit options because you may be busy, don't tell 6 customers (which 4 of them were new because we brought them there "oh your are only six I am not worried about you and what your needs are)," don't put your servers in a situation where their whole night is going to be hell because you decided to eliminate some of the best items off your menu because you are afraid your kitchen can't handle it "get more staff," last but not least, you know it is bad when your server tells you that you may want to go to Cafe 1912 for a better experience. Trust me, next time we will. Guess you won't be seeing an average of $100.00 per week or more from us, we won't bring you anymore new customers, and we will make sure to tell our neighbors about how quickly you have slid downhill. Watch it, you are quickly following in the footsteps of Ken at Umai and Ben at Grace!

Slider Inn is a nice cozy little bar--I liked the atmosphere and I'll bet the patio is very nice in warm weather. I had heard about the wonderful lobster toll and wanted to try it. The sandwich was very disappointing. The contents tasted okay and fresh, but the bread it was on was unexpected. It was the size of and looked similar to a Wonder bread hot dog bun and totally tasteless. For $17.99 sandwich, I expected a lot more. I wouldn't go back for another.

On August 5, 2011, I attended the grand opening of The Slider Inn, a bar and burger restaurant on the corner of Peabody and Cooper. As the name applies, it will focus on the miniature Slider hamburger that has recently benefited from a renaissance in popularity as restaurants ranging from Burger King to Hooters to even upscale eateries like Memphis' Flight Restaurant and Wine Bar have adopted it. Slider Inn's version is exactly the same as the one made by Bardog Tavern, which makes sense given that Aldo Demartino owns both restaurants. In terms of quality, I couldn't tell a difference, meaning that Aldo and his staff were well prepared for the opening. Speaking of Slider Inn's opening, it seemed to be pretty successful, due to the high turnout. The restaurant gave out free food, liquor and beer, although the bar cut the free tap on the latter after 7:00 P.M. The inside of the restaurant/bar is quite small, about the same size as a living room of a medium-sized house. However, there are quite a few tables on the patio, all equipped with umbrella covering that should keep diners cool. One of my friends pointed out that the tables, made of wood, were all sanded down to prevent diners from getting splinters. When I thought about that, I realized that Aldo and his staff paid attention to even the smallest of details. The only gripe that I had on opening night was having to constantly get my server's attention, but given the circumstances, I'll let it "slide" and assume things will get better. As of now, The Slider Inn doesn't have an official menu, but if the upcoming menu is similar to Bardog's, it may not bode well for the bar long term. Although I and many others like Bardog, The Slider Inn is located in a neighborhood where the residents are more health conscious which could dissuade some of them from dining there. As an example of this, another friend who was with me pointed out that the only thing she could eat there that night was the French fries. As a vegan, she could never consider The Slider Inn as a dining option due to the lack of menu options. Fortunately, she made her case to one of the managers there who was very receptive in what she had to say. While I don't expect the place to become another Imagine Vegan Cafe, I hope that the restaurant can accommodate her and others with a few choices. Doing so will make the place even more appealing than it is now. Based on what I experienced, I believe that The Slider Inn has a good chance at being successful as long as the place is well managed and offers things that people like, such as $3.00 PBRs. With so many former restaurants failing in Slider Inn's current location, it's going to take a lot of work to keep the restaurant going. I'm confident that Aldo and his staff (which includes Brooke, who appeared to be supervising the wait staff) are capable of meeting the challenge, and I expect good things from the bar/restaurant in the future. UPDATE: A couple of weeks after the "soft opening" of the Slider Inn, I visited it again for a light dinner. Initially, I was going to get a couple of beef sliders, but after being informed by Aldo, the bar's owner that a vegan slider was added to the menu, I decided to give it a try. Before I go on, I want to state that I'm neither a vegetarian nor a vegan, but I appreciate good food regardless of what it is. That said, I ordered a couple of vegan sliders with a glass of water. As for the vegan slider, my first impression of it was very positive. The slider is a mash-up of many ingredients, most notably black beans and rice, with onions for spiciness. The texture of the slider patty isn't dense, and the two that I had went down nicely without weighing too heavy in my stomach. As I was eating them, I detected a bit of sweetness in them, which could have been due to the molasses that I later discovered is also an ingredient. Overall, I was very impressed with what the Slider Inn came up with. Although my opinion on this may not mean much, given that I'm a "meat man," I can definitely see myself ordering a vegan slider along with two beef sliders. So for vegans who are looking for a good meal, I suggest giving the vegan slider a chance. By the way, the Slider Inn now has a menu consisting mostly of sliders that is fairly inexpensive. With the exception of the Lobster Roll that cost $15.99, everything on the menu is under $10. Even though the bar is focusing on slider burgers, I wouldn't mind seeing a pasta dish like Bardog Tavern's Spaghetti and Meatballs added to the menu in the future. However, I like how the bar's management is running things so far, and the fact that they were willing listen to me and others about we wanted and doing their best to meet those demands says a lot about their determination to make the Slider Inn a success. I wish them the best of luck and look forward to eating there often. To see the entire review, go to kensfoodfind.com/2011/08…

Word of our mouth from many of our friends was not good, but decided to try it anyway. We should have listened to our friends!! I ordered mix and match; 2.burgers and a chicken slider. 1 word...."blah"!!!!! No taste at all.. The chicken slider even had avocado on it, but still blah...no flavor at all.The best thing is their fries. They were actually very good. And I had to flag down my waitress for a refill on my drink (they weren't busy at all). One final comment....if you only want the corner booth for larger parties, then put a sign on the table stating this. We watched an awkward moment when a couple was asked to move to another table after they sat down. Overall, a BIG disappointment for midtown. And now that I just read about their "no kids" rule, I will definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

I gave this 4 stars for the great service and atmosphere, not the food. I will come back here but I will probably not eat. I ordered the veggie sliders and one of the vegan slider. Both were ok, I liked the vegan one better. They were just lacking in flavor. They needed some spice or zing to it. It was just a bit bland for me. I'm happy that they offer the choices though. The service was fantastic and very friendly. Decent beer selection. I will come back but will probably just come for the beer.

This is a place I've been wanting to go to for a while. Went last night, sat on the covered porch. Great atmosphere. Server was nice. She suggested we start out with the hot wings. This was the best call of the night. They were fabulous. Not overly sauced, perfectly cooked. Had I known they were that good I would have gotten them as my main course. Really spot on. For my main course I got the lobster roll and a big deuce (one sandwich) with fries. Lobster roll was good, wasn't too sauced either, filled with big chunks of lobster, on what looked like a hot dog bun. The only disappointment was that it was too small for the $18 price. That and the picture I saw of this meal online was deceiving, in that, portions looked bigger. The Bid Deuce was okay, nothing special. One of my buddies said he wouldn't get the meatball slider next time. Said it was just okay. He said the favorite of his was the BLT slider with an egg. One thing we all agreed on, as far as liking, were the shoestring french fries. These were crisp and salted perfectly. One buddy mentioned that he heard they add a little sugar to the mix. They were really good. Would I go back? Yes, for the wings and fries, maybe a couple months down the road. Not going to rush back because I live in Germantown and it's just not worth the haul sooner than that.

Highly underrated spot in Midtown. The patio was crowded the night we went, so we sat inside. It was kinda loud, but that's OK -- this is a dive bar atmosphere. The food is anything but. The sliders were spectacular, the fries above average, and the price affordable.

DANGER= the learning curve at the Midtown's newest hangout Slider Inn at Cooper and Peabody is sliding into oblivion. Everyone wants this place to succeed despite its extremely slow service and the apparent neglect by the otherwise successful restaurant owner Aldo DeMartino who lives just two blocks from the establishment. This place has it, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION just in the heart of an otherwise residential neighborhood. Walking distance to literally thousands of mid-townees- they could serve frozen pizza and beer and do extremely well but for all concerned they have the damnedest time getting to patrons. Is it the culture of the wait staff I must ask as they seem unaffected by the few whom wait eagerly for any attention?? I say serve the lady a glass of wine- or whatever and the food orders can wait patiently. SMILE and take a sale- first impressions are indeed lasting. Wait staff must sell themselves, they earn their living establishing rapport and are the truest representatives of their employer. At last nights service the waiters were clearing tables by constantly spilling out the leftover drinks at the decks edge and taking tequila shots from patrons BYO bottles?? Aldo please help this place, get rid of the old wait staff who rather be at their regular locals and get anxious body's who want to make it happen here!!! Despite everything you could actually screw this one up by not trying~

Mostly everything should've been good here I just ordered the wrong thing. Do not order the 'blue' cheese and caramelized onion sliders unless you are prepared to get an impressively hefty amount of bleu cheese onion goup on the top of your burger. Some may like it but I felt like I had a ice cream sized scoop of bleu cheese and onion mayonnaise slop on the top of mine. Bad choice on my part I assumed it would have actual bleu cheese not some strange concoction that was more like a dressing. My boyfriend got the Original Memphis and his looked really good!! Next time I'll go with my gut and get the Memphis!

Slider Inn is not only delicious but has great service. Michael was our server tonight at my friends birthday and he was very attentive and always got us what we needed. Thank you Slider Inn and Michael for giving my friend an amazing birthday!

This place is fantastic, pure and simple. If you're wondering what The Slider Inn serves, look no further than the name: it's sliders. The cool thing is all the different types of sliders you can get. I highly recommend the Original Memphis, but there are a few others I loved too, like the Buffalo Chicken. My wife enjoyed the Vegan Triple (yes, VEGAN!) and the Lowrider. I've loved everything I've eaten here and really enjoy the portion to price ratio too. For $10 you can get three sliders and a big basket of shoestring fries. How great is that? This place also has a killer patio and beer selection if you're into that sort of thing. Nestled in the heart of the Cooper Young district, it's a great location for just hanging out with friends and sharing a meal/drinks. My only knock on this place is the servers. Simply put, it's a little slow. Everybody's nice, but the waitstaff is generally slower than the average place. If you plan on visiting this place, make sure you keep that in mind.

The place has a cool patio and would be a great place to have a few beers if it were not for the music. A place like this should be playing classic rock, not hard rock. I went with the sampler and had 3 sliders. Was not impressed by any of them. Whatever you do, do not order the chicken slider with guac!

I love this place. Great deck, servers are always really friendly. Great neighborhood bar. The menu is a little light, mostly sliders, but the sliders are all really good. Dog friendly.

Went in here late one night with people from work. Great customer service. Splitting tabs was not a problem. The bartender was excellent and quickly replenished out drinks. I was told their menu is good but did not try anything. I will go back again and try it out!!

Slider Inn has so much potential: great food, great location, great venue. Unfortunately the service staff leaves a lot to be desired... They are very friendly, but they pay little attention to details, can't get an order 100% right and are not very attentive to their tables. It's seems like the customer is an after-thought and an inconvenience... Hope they pull it together as I want to see them succeed.

Great place. Sliders are wonderful. They even lettuce wrap them for mr except on Sundays

Recommend to "mix & match" your sliders. I tried the lowrider, mushroom and swiss, falafel, and this pork is a jerk. This pork is a jerk was the best spiced from all the options. The red cabbage pickled slaw had a hint of ginger taste to it. The mushroom & swiss burger was uneventful. The falafel had an interesting bean paste that made the flavor unique but not quite umami. The lowrider had a fresh flavor (avocado - unseasoned) and chipotle mayonnaise. The last slider I tried was a fried chicken slider (heavy mayo.) that tasted just like a burger king fish sandwich. The jury is still out on whether that is a good or bad thing. Overall, I believe a higher end bun (something other than Krystal's style) would elevate the taste. Possibly try changing up the style of bun that comes with different types of sliders. Also, the ketchup, mayonnaise, should not dominate the sliders but just add to the flavors. The typical clientele visit the slider in to smoke and drink draft beers on the patio, so I can understand how sliders can satisfy the munchies after a tiny bomb (wiseacre).

I'm writing this update to add the fact that I finally got a chance to try the wings at Slider Inn. The verdict? The wings are great! I was already a fan of the sliders, lobster rolls, and of course the fries with bourbon mayo. Now, I can add wings to the list. That covers just about everything on the menu! Does this qualify me as a super fan? I also wanted to mention that Slider Inn is one of the only places with a kitchen that stays open until 2am. It's a great option for that late night (early morning) snack.

Great place. It's small with limited seating when it's cold, but the patio looked very nice so I'm excited to go when the weather is right. They have a good beer selection, our waiter was very friendly and effective and the sliders were great. I had the Original Memphis and the Buffalo Chicken. The fries were very good as well. Parking is "ehh" but other than that, wonderful experience!

GREAT food and AWESOME service. We had the lobster role and the mix and match sliders (BLT, chicken and the original) we also had the home made ice cream witch was AMAZING! We will be going back again! While I was there I found out they have brunch on Sundays and i cant wait to try it. I just want to say again that is a GREAT place the food and staff are AWESOME! You should try it.

Really like their food and their fries are my favorite in the city especially with that bourbon mayo! The service had be very subpar at times which is why it didn't get a full 5 stars. Their brunch is also very well priced and has a mix of different options to try. I highly recommend their bloody marys!

Each visit is different. They have that wonderful mayo and fries which is the real reason I go. The sliders are my side item. I usually get the fried egg ones or the Memphis. But I love the ambiance of the place.

So I didn't post a review the last time I ate here as the service was really slow/bad but the food was really good. So after my second trip the service was much better and like our first trip the food was consistently good for everyone at the table (good job kitchen staff). On the service comment, I don't want the management to read this post with too rosy of a spin...let me be clear...the service was better but not awesome. I love the outside deck addition, with it they may have finally found a business that will make it in this location. Great place to eat but now its equally good to just go hang out and have a few beers. Oh and I noticed some comments on the smoking issue. I am a non-smoker but have no issue with smoking bars/restaurants. In fact generally I would prefer to gamble on sitting next to a smoker than sitting next to an unruly child with parents who ignore the bad behavior. The screaming kid will ruin my dining experience FAR more than a smoker. Good luck Slider Inn and keep up the good work!

Great deck, great food, late hours. The sliders are superior, because they are made with high-quality ingredients. I'm not a beer drinker, but there are a lot of local and regional craft beers on the menu. And the jukebox has some unusual choices

Love. Great patio. Allows dogs, even gives them their own water bowl and treat. Great for vegetarians and meat eaters. Simple menu that doesn't try too hard, everything is fresh and great service.

Absolutely delicious!!! Cute little restaurant and the best sliders in town! Such a unique place! Everyone loves sliders and to have a restaurant especially that serves them is awesome!!! Great, friendly service and the pricing is not too bad!! Parking can hectic but no worries there are areas around there to park! Definitely pay Slider Inn a visit they some delicious food!

The new bartender, Rachel, is a perfect fit. Really solid staff in the front and back of house at this point. They're experimenting with a lot of new menu items as well so be sure to check the chalkboards when you go in. Don't forget to bring the pooch, dog friendly patio with water bowls and the kitchen makes dog biscuits in house so fido isn't left out. SMOKING IS ALLOWED AFTER 9P.M.!

Generally we don't go here because it's soooo smoky, even the patio can be choke-worthy. We went when it first opened, before the patio was enclosed, and the sliders were good. Also the music is too loud for conversation. What?

I am a big fan of Slider Inn and now it is one of my favorite brunch places. Went there today and completely enjoyed three brunch headliners. I mixed and matched three and it came with creamy cheese grits. The flat iron steak was superb, but that doesn't discount the other two, it is just the flat iron made a real impression. I do need to remember to only order two sliders. Three is a lot of food and I never want to stop eating. Maybe next time I will remember.

I really want to like this place, but it's just okay for me. Went the first time and had a great time because I was watching my favorite NFL team and the other guests were interactive and fun too. The food was just okay, but it was kind of an off time and a holiday so I decided to cut them some slack. Fast forward to about a month ago when I returned again. Service was indifferent/rude. We went at about 4:45 (hadn't had any lunch) and the only people there were drinking/smoking at the bar. This would have been fine except that it took about 45 minutes to get our food which was mediocre at best. The menu is small so I would encourage them to improve the quality of their menu items. My husband had a sampler of sliders which I wish I had ordered, but even he didn't finish the last one. Not bad, but not good enough to finish.

Fantastic late night spot or midday patio snack. While you can mix and match sliders until you find the one of your dreams, I highly recommend the chick-n-fill-ay trio, buffalo style, add cheese (white American) and bacon (you can take the extra to go, they are even better the next day). That is, unless you are lucky enough to go on a Monday and then you MUST have the meatball sliders, which are out of this world. The next best thing bout Slider Inn is the fries, which are shoestring, perfectly salted, and perfectly matched with bourbon mayo (I don't even like mayonnaise and I love this stuff). Finally, compliment your tasty meal with a LUI or two (pronounced "Louie" as in Huey, Dewey, and Louie), which is a vodka spiked lemonade. Husband hails from Boston and hated the lobster roll (he's pretty particular when it comes to food from "home"). The wings make a great hot starter. Service varies, but if you come enough, it's consistently awesome. Added bonus: dog friendly. Downside: can be smoky.

  • Laura N.

This is one of my absolute favorite places! The staff is super friendly & attentive. The food is great.....the meatball sliders (on Mondays) are my favorite. The lemon lui with blueberry vodka is so refreshing and delicious. No smoking inside during the day, but you can smoke in there at night, so if you want to complain about smoke, I suggest you sit outside. This place is nothing short of SPECTACULAR!

I visited the Slider Inn on a Monday for lunch. I had the pleasure of dining on the patio. I ordered 2 Memphis Originals, 1 Low Rider and fries. The mayo was delicious, but they did not provide utensils to apply the mayo to the sliders. The server was just ok. Having only an hour for lunch, service could have been a little faster. I look forward to returning after work to enjoy the patio and an adult beverage.

A local took me here for lunch. I'll admit I was a tad apprehensive. But I walked out TOTALLY satisfied. The Buffalo Chix Sliders...were fantastic. Get the chix fried. Original slider was exactly what you want. Perfectly cooked. Fries - shoestring style. Crispy but not overly cooked. Service from Jessica was super friendly and super fast. Only regret is I needed to get back to work and couldn't hang at the bar.

  • Stephanie C.

Diggin it! I'm liking the $4.00 mimosas and bloody mary's on Sunday! The lobster roll.... yummmmmmmmm, a little on the pricey side for the size, but where else in Memphis can you find a lobster roll? Check it out, Slider Inn is going to take off.

  • Amy P.

I am not red meat eater, so I didn't get any burgers. Instead, I tried the buffalo chicken (which was my favorite), the egg and cheese, and the peanut butter and jelly. All were delicious! The potato salad and french fries were also hits. I went here with four friends and we all decided that the spinach dip was the best we've ever tasted. Even the iced tea was great- still tasted fresh even though it was late. The only item we were disappointed with was the nachos- too dry and not very original. Everything else tasted great! The service was also excellent. We will definitely be back. Also, I am glad that it is non-smoking until really late. I'm allergic to it and it is really hard to find places in Memphis that do not allow it. Unfortunately, we had to leave as soon as it was "smoking time" and people started to light up. Maybe I'll just have to come in for lunch! Yum!

I had dinner on the patio last night, and the experience was decidedly "meh." The picnic table benches are very hard (my butt was numb by the time we left), the service was so-so, and the food was pretty blah. They have a real menu now, but it's kind of confusing to read -- I think all burgers come either as sliders or regular size, but I'm not sure, and several of the appetizers had 3 prices listed with no explanation as to what they meant. It's unclear if they have desserts, as it simply said "desserts?", and there is an odd paragraph saying, in essence, that changes or substitutions will slow down your order, so don't say we didn't warn you. I think they're trying to be cute, but I found it more offensive than anything else. I had the Memphis Original sliders, and they were fine, but no more than that. Given that almost everything comes with fries, I was surprised that the waitress had to come back with ketchup after she brought our food, and a request for Tobasco resulted in a bottle of Cholula and a "Well, that's all we've got." The final straw -- our bill came with a pen from Swanky's Taco Shop. Cheap much? I doubt I'll be back.

This place is pretty neat. I have only eaten here once and the menu consists of, well, sliders. Duh. Because I am notorious for getting chicken everywhere I go, I tried the Lowrider - aka chicken sliders. You get three with an order. These come with avocado (which I held because I'm never sure how much is going to be put on there), grilled onions, white American cheese and an aioli sauce which is pretty darn good. My husband got the you pick three order and he got a Lowrider also (with avocado), Memphis slider, and a BLT slider. He said the Memphis was his favorite of the three. You get a choice of fries or potato salad with your sliders. We both opted for the fries. They were so good. The perfect crispness and they are served with a bourbon mayo. I don't eat mayo. Ever. But I really enjoyed this. Just for irony sake, my husband, who does like and eat mayo, wasn't a fan. So it's definitely something you need to try for yourself. :) We will be going back here again, more than likely at night when there's a good drink special or something going on. Just an FYI, because of the location, parking is limited in the small lot and it's hard to get out of because it's on the corner. But that's all part of Cooper Young. It's mostly street parking anyway.

I have no dea where these lackluster reviews are coming from. We loved the Slider Inn. The service was fast, attentive, and really friendly. Even the bouncer was nice. We shared an order of bleu cheese/grilled onion sliders and a bowl of lobster bisque. The sliders were awesome. The grilled onions were all soft and caramelized, and the meat was just delectable. My slider was cooked perfectly medium, pink and juicy in the center. That addictive bourbon sauce that comes with the fries was genius. Oh, and did I mention that the fries were dusted with sugar? It was like eating a hundred tiny doughnuts dipped in some special kind of mayo. Yum. The lobster roll was kind of expensive for a first-time visit, so I got the lobster bisque instead, which was delicious. I was worried that they might be stingy on the lobster, but they weren't. It was good bisque. I'd get it again.... I didn't have a problem with the spare menu options at all. I like a focused menu. They also had quite a few slider specials that weren't on the menu. The weakest aspect of the place had to do with the beer. My companion was disappointed by their draft beer selection, but what can you do? He's from Wisconsin, and Memphis isn't much of a beer lover's town. Still, I was glad I'd brought an out-of-town visitor here. We had a great time at The Slider Inn and are looking forward to returning. They had great food, a fun music selection, friendly staff, and a relaxed crowd. I hope they stick around.

Great menu selection and beer selection. I like getting to choose three small burgers instead of just one large one. The fries are also the good skinny kind.

The service at Slider Inn was atrociously bad. I was dining alone, and when I dine alone, I expect that the servers aren't going to make me a priority because they assume the tip isn't worth all the work. For the record, though, this is not true. I tip 25-30% when I dine alone because I know it's extra work. Anyway--the service was awful. I've never had to wait 15 minutes to get my check after I asked for it. And this wasn't even during their peek hours (around 3:30 p.m.). When I finally got my sliders, they were terrible. The burgers were overcooked and under-seasoned. Slider Inn got one star because that's the lowest rating I could give it.

    (1)
  • Cathleen P.

This was the absolute worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant in Memphis. I was here for almost three hours and our waitress was talking with boys at the bar instead of giving us our check. It took about an hour and 45 min to even get us our food. Do NOT go here. Terrible waste of time.

  • Elton G.

Great food. Had the sliders with caramelized onions and blue cheese which were terrific. Lobster roll was good - I'm no expert but maybe it would be better warm? Fries good. Cool atmosphere. I hope this place stays open for a long time. Slow, somewhat confused service, but gets a pass here cause by their own admission, in big letters on top of the temporary menu, they haven't even truly opened yet. This is a 'soft open' and to be fair the place was jam-packed.

We had our second experience at the Slider Inn last night for National Burger Day and it was just as good as, if not better than, the first. Both my wife and I chose the Mix and Match option. I had: The Mushroom one (Can't remember it's name now) Falafel Chick-n-Fill-Ay My wife got all the same but instead of the falafel she got the "This Pork is a Jerk". We both love the mushroom one and I really liked all of mine and her Pork is a Jerk. On our last visit we also tried the Original Memphis and the Blue Cheese and Onion. The Original Memphis was just okay, and the Blue Cheese and Onion was just a bit too blue cheesy for my tastes but not too bad! Also, I'm not sure what's in the white-ish sauce that they bring out with the fries, but it's awesome! I like that so many dog owners frequent this place. We sat on the porch and there were four different dogs hanging around. The servers will bring water and treats for the pets. Overall, a great place to try some unique sliders and I'm sure that we'll be back again!

It takes a lot to impress me when it comes to burgers and these little things impress me. Think of Krystal's on steroids, that's what these little guys look like. I went for the 5 dollar deal that yelp has going on and that's what my girl got. I got the 3 big deuces and they looked amazing but also tasted pretty good. The fries were just plain. The service was weird as shit, I could never understand a word our server was saying, no way she's from the south. She seemed to forget everything but she was extra nice so I can't fault her for having alzheimer's. Besides playing dodge the flies, everything was great.

A fabulous first impression. The service was impeccable! From filling our glasses to feeding a squirrel, our waitress was perfect. We couldn't have been happier! Brunch Punch was great but the Bloody Mary was fantastic. We had Mix and Match Sliders (3each) Tyler had: Steak, egg and cheese Low Rider Memphis Original With fries I had: Eggs Benedict The Low Rider Memphis Original With fries Amanda had: Bacon, egg and cheese BL-TNA Memphis Original With grits Zachary had: Eggs Benedict Steak, egg and cheese BL-TNA With hash browns Every bite was delicious! Amanda says the grits are to die for - and the bourbon mayo is worth an order of fries Brunch is great but we will definitely go back for the dinner menu The picnic table patio is fun! It's mist system kept us cool. Comfy shoes are a must- it's all street parking.

I decided to check this place out after hearing about their Jameson slushies. After having now tried them, I cannot recommend them enough! Nothing is better on a 100 degree day. I've since tried to replicate it, but I don't think it's going to happen. The service was great, our server was Elizabeth and she was friendly and quick. I tried a combo of the burgers but my favorite is the blue cheese & caramelized onion slider. We'll definitely be back, you get a decent amount of food for the price here & everything was great!

Even though I got my sliders to go, I wished I could have stayed and chilled on the patio. The peeps working here were SO laid back and yet prompt with my drink and food. It was a draft night and my Memphis Made beer was only $3! Score! The sliders were all good in that soft squishy kind of way. The one with the fried egg was the best! Would love to try the chicken sliders. The inside is a bit cramped and smokey, but the patio is so spacious that it doesn't matter. In this spot, you wanna be outside anyway. Great people watching!!! Can't wait to return :)

I visited this place for the first time during the Yelp burger binge. I got two of the mushroom swiss sliders and one Memphis original slider. They were pretty good. The service wasn't bad, but slow. It probably wouldn't have been noticed since we were a pretty big group except for the fact we were sitting outside in the Memphis heat and I as the time went on I was definitely ready to leave. I look forward to coming back here, sitting inside, and trying some of their other interesting options (that weren't included in the burger binge deal options).

Chanced upon this place during a social event. We waited fifteen minutes at a table with no service, so finally went to the bar to order drinks. The owner was working, and was exceedingly nice, and very chatty. The drinks were good, and we did not try the food, but the outdoor seating area and murmurs from the crowd around us ensures that we will definitely come back to try their famous sliders, soon.

Husband and I tried Slider Inn for lunch during Yelp Burger week. My first impression was this is a nice quaint spot. We were immediately greeted when we walked through the door. We both ordered the Yelp special (sliders and fries). When it came out it was 2 sliders and fries. It wasn't until we left that I realized we were shorted a slider each. :( Also they would only honor 1 Yelp discount :( Burgers were ok, nothing to rave about. Fries were good. If I go back it would be more for the atmosphere (large patio) as opposed to the food. Definitely not in my Top Fav Burger Spots

I've been meaning to check this place out for a while now and now that I finally have, I could kick myself for not doing it sooner. I've only been for lunch so I can't speak to how the nightlife for patio is, but the staff is very polite and food was great. I've had the Memphis Original sliders with fries both times I visited and they had been fantastic both times. The burger has a great flavor and is juicy. The fries were a little underdone (kind of greasy) the second time I visited, but I can let that "slide" once given that they brought a giant grin to my daughter's face by serving her Cherry Coke with three cherries on a garnish stick. Kids are welcome until 5 p.m. if you are thinking of thinking of bringing your little ones. Overall I've enjoy my lunches there and plan to try some other items on the menu on my next visit.

White castle, that's what this place's burger reminds me of. Lots of bread and not so much meat. Memphis original is pretty good if you like ketchup. I kinda don't, but that's preference thing. There are quite a lot more interesting burger that I haven't tried. Might revise this review once I eat them.

The patio is great. Service can be uneven, depending on how busy they are. They do allow smoking inside after 9:00 p.m., so I try to stay on the patio regardless of the time of day. The sliders and fries make more than a generous meal for one person. They do have vegan and vegetarian slider options as well as chicken. I've seen the lobster roll go by and be devoured though I've never tried it myself. I can also personally vouch for their hot wings. All in all, The Slider Inn is another jewel in Midtown's crown of restaurants.

I went here on vacation in January 2014, but I still remember it. There were several delicious vegetarian options, and my boyfriend at the time really enjoyed his sliders (non-veg) as well. Good local beers and a really nice waiter who gave us lots of good recommendations. I want to go back the next time I visit Memphis.

Have been to sliders inn on several Occasions and never been disappointed. It's a great place to grab a few drinks and have those yummy sliders. They have 2 vegetarian sliders ( my husband is a happy camper there) : falafel and black bean. I am in love with their buffalo style chick-n-fil-ay. My friends swear by their original Memphis slider. We always order mix and match and get 3 sliders very order. And boy, their fries and bourbon dip are one of the best in Memphis. They have a great patio too. Sliders inn is no doubt One of our favorite hangout spots in midtown.

Amazing food, and friendly service makes this an awesome place to hang out and catch up! I love getting the "Pick 3" sliders and bouncing around. The beef patties are good, but they do a fantastic job with creative pork and chicken sliders. The drinks are usually pretty good, with a heavy preference towards whiskey drinks (the Jameson bottles lining the walls should be a good tip off). The bartenders are knowledgable and friendly, so it's worth coming back for even drinks alone!

First time at the Slider Inn. Joe is my server and he is on his game for sure! I had the blue, swiss, and fried egg burgers. That is 3 separate sliders. Everyone of them are super tasty! Talking heads on the radio and sun in the sky! Anyone not privy to this great little spot should certainly try it out for themselves. Ask for Joe!!

When I say the BEST SLIDERS you will ever have, I am not exaggerating!!! I do not know what has taken me so long to come here, but it is outstanding! The waiter we had was so attentive and warm, we felt right at home though it was our first time. I do not want to give much away because it is SO good and I want your experience to be as amazing as mine. Take my word for it- GO get Slider Inn- you will not be disappointed.

The lobster is far from fresh. It is stored in pools and frozen so it is not fresh. Sorry I really was hoping for a better experience. Additionally, the waitress needs to wash her hands before serving food after playing with dogs on porch

Great sliders and fries! Tried the wings and spinach dip appetizers, and they were both excellent. The deck outside is wonderful, weather permitting.

The a Slider Inn is by far one of the best neighborhood restaurant/bars in Midtown! Not only do they have a fantastic patio, the food is top notch. The nachos, wings and the sliders are my favorites, usually all in one sitting cause it's hard to pick just one!

The sliders were really good and cooked just right... Great place, people, and food, thanks you guys! We will be back soon to see you guys again!

I am fairly new to Memphis and have been asking all my friends where the best patios in Memphis are. Slider Inn was one that was recommended and near my house so I decided to check it out. Parking was a little hard at lunch. Had to park down the street and walk a bit but no big deal. The patio was nice and shaded which was a must with this Memphis heat. My server was attentive and had us in and out quickly. He even suggested other patios in Memphis that he likes to frequent!! The lobster roll was good just not my thing. However, the vodka/lemonade drink they serve which I cannot remember the name was amazing. Perfect for a hot summer day. Prices are reasonable. Definitely will be back to try the inside experience and some sliders.

I don't make a habit of giving bad reviews. But a friend and I sat on the patio for close to an hour and were never acknowledged by anyone who works there. Finally just got drinks from the bar (after waiting about 15-20 minutes), finished them and left. I'd give the benefit of the doubt if they were busy, but clearly that wasn't the case. Just hope the shitty (or more like non-existent) service doesn't turn into a trend.

Haven't been to sliders in a hot minute even though it's one of my favorite little restaurants in all of memphis, unfortunately, it's not kid friendly so finding a sitter just to go to dinner isn't always the easiest thing to do. The little slider burgers are all amazing. My favorite thing to order is the chili served in a bag of fritos! It's awesome! The service/servers are always great! They do sex trivia night and it is a fun time getting drunk on their delicious drinks, learning new things, and just laughing your ass off.

Love this place... Have had a few great servers, Jeannie, Michael... But, also had a few bad servers. With that being said, I'll keep going back because the patio is amazing, as are the sliders and fries! Prices are good, parking can be tricky, but overall, I recommend this joint!

The wife and I went out to midtown for a nice relaxing evening. Decided to eat at the slider inn. We really enjoyed a casual experience with good food at a good price. A lot of the local crowd was hanging out on the patio enjoying the evening and we did as well. The server was polite and fairly quick with service. The sliders were great. Liked the pick 3 option. Ordered the "deuce", flat iron, and the chicken fill a buffalo style. Would have to say the flat iron was my fav. Shoestring fries were good. Will definitely be back.

Never disappointed! I've had many visits to Slider Inn and I can't think of one negative thing to say. The food is consistently good and the bartenders are always friendly. My boyfriend loves their wings and I'm a fan of every slider I've tried. The flat iron is definitely my top choice, but I also enjoy the low rider, the sausage egg and cheese, the chik-n-fila, and the pork is a jerk. If you come for brunch, their grits are some of my favorite in the city. Until they give me a reason not too, I'll keep coming back!

Q: What's the easiest way to piss off a fat person? A: Tease them with food. This was my concern with Slider Inn. I was concerned that if I arrived and had three piddly little burgers I would want to flip over the whole table and storm out in a fat-rage and walk as fast as my chubby legs could move to a restaurant where I could get a human sized meal. It turns out that my fears were unfounded. Slider Inn''s portions are ample enough for pretty much everyone, and if they're not, you always have the option of ordering additional sliders a la carte (which I'm pretty sure is French for "for the fattys"). Unfortunately, the one thing that is tiny is the actual location. Slider Inn has maybe 12 tables, and they are all ridiculously close to each other. I routinely inadvertently eavesdrop on other diners, and some of the conversations you hear are juicer than the burgers! Who goes to Slider Inn to discuss how awesome it is to cheat on your wife? The dude who was eating next to me, apparently. I damn near fell out my chair trying to listen to the real life soap opera. Besides the juicy conversation, let's talk about the juicy burgers. The menu at Slider Inn is actually fairly impressive, boasting beef burgers, chicken sandwiches, pork buns, steak sliders and even a p,b&j option. There are various toppings you can add to every burger. If you are not creative enough to create your own burgers, there are pre-made styles for you to choose from as well. They have specials every weekday (and Trivia every Monday), so make sure to check the menu before you go, if you're interested.

We visited today for my son's birthday and were not disappointed. Our server was very friendly and made menu suggestions that were great. She even offered to replace my side with another if I didn't like it. The chicken salad and Chick-in-fill-ay sliders were excellent. The jerk pork slider was also yummy. The atmosphere was great as well. We will be back!!

I cannot rave enough about the lobster bisque! This is a midtown hangout prime example. You can eat outdoors, a covered area outdoors, inside, or at the bar. The beer selection is ample, but let's talk about the sliders. Those are some fine crafted mini burgers. I like the mix and match, for you can have three different types of sliders. The servers are friendly, and pricing is good.

I've eaten here numerous times for lunch and dinner and love it, but I was so upset when I went last night Mon Dec 22. I arrived with my little girl, 7, at around 6pm and we were told we couldn't eat there. We were told by the hostess that its 21 and up after 5pm!! I know I've seen kids in here before. I had absolutely no words! So a burger joint won't serve anyone at 5pm during the week?? The hostess said something about them allowing smoking after 9pm, but we were there at 6pm. I love the burgers, but I don't think I will return now because if this experience.

Oh wow! I just left this strange, yet attractive place! It has a good environment, similar to that of a tavern/bar with a balcony style outdoor seating. What surprised me the most was the sliders!! Their slider varieties are amazing. I ordered the mix sliders (3 choice): meatball, big deuce, and flat iron. These were my choices. Meatball: 'twas delicious with the right seasoning in the meatball, which made the mozzarella, marinara, and bun balance out. Big deuce: a standard all around American style slider/burger. Can't really go wrong with this, and the meat was cooked to medium. Flat iron: this one was my favorite of the 3. Used decent steak pieces, but the other ingredients that go with it made it so good. The roasted tomatoes really popped through this slider. In conclusion, I would recommend this place. Definitely a must go-to-place. Try it!! You WILL be impressed.

i like making my own. thus far i've tried: Chicken Filet - The best one. Don't order anything else. I love their chicken filet. Its so crunchy on the outside yet juicy, tender, and warm on the inside. Original Memphis - meh. this one is just ok. Jamaican me Pork Crazy or something like that - good, but spicy! beware of this one, non-spicy eaters. Falafel - pretty good! its not bad. it's a good mix up to the standard sliders. Fries here are just ok. I like the patio, and i like that they're dog friendly! The waiters are always incredibly accommodating and helpful. I usually order to go, and they always prepare my order fast and right. TIP: you can ask for ranch on the side for the chicken filet if you're one of those that likes to eat it that way.

So I haven't reviewed the Slider Inn yet? What is wrong with me. This is THE place to be in midtown. Sliders are amazing and the daily specials are delicious. Friday is Fish Taco day. Their chicken wings are some of the best in town and they have the only lobster roll in Memphis. Why 5*? Because they deserve it.

  • Amanda E.

Slider Inn has the same ownership as Bardog so if you like it chances are you'll like this place. It's the only place in town to get a lobster roll, which is very good and does not skimp on the lobster but at $18 isn't something I get on a regular basis. If you just have to have lobster their bisque is also very good. I like to get the mix n match slider meal for $9.99 - 3 sliders and fries; my favorites are the flat iron and chick n fill a which is good plain of buffalo style. This is mostly a place to get beer, terrible and limited wine choices. For a bar it's very clean and doesn't smell. The patio is also nice but service out there is very slow. I will say I've never had my order brought out wrong and I'm pretty fussy about having toppings on the menu not added. Like other reviewers have said sex trivia is fun. 1st place gets a $50 gift certificate and 2nd place a gift basket of sex stuff

I loved this little place. I went for the first time and the food was awsome. The waiter and waitresses were great. I recommend this to everyone. I cant wait to try Sunday brunch. On Monday's they have adult trivia. I will attend sounds fun.

I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong. And boy oh boy, was my first impression wrong. This place is my new obsession and you should stop what you're doing right now and go get the Memphis sliders because ooooh emmmm geee those things are delicious! And their fries...some of the best in Memphis. We stopped by here Monday night in hopes of participating in their Sex Trivia. It wasn't happening that night but is starting back up every Monday - and I will definitely be there.(Side note: anyone interested in a Team Yelp trivia team here??) The patio is awesome but sitting inside is also great. They have a juke box which is fun to play with and this place has great people watching. Our waitress was so sweet and funny and I loved chatting with a few other employees. They also have these giant new beer things they got from Vegas...I don't drink beer and have no idea how to explain it but apparently they just ordered 6 and the guys in my group were going nuts over it. And if shots are your things...order the breakfast shot, which comes with a side of bacon. Its amazing (and I'm not a "shot girl")! Note for the ladies: very clean bathrooms! Definitely my new midtown hangout - the perfect mixture of a bar scene and yummy food!!

I came in with high expectations for Slider Inn... I've heard so many great things about it and the concept is very cool. I brought my little brother for a graduation celebratory lunch and knew he would love the concept too! The staff working wasn't very friendly and it was SLOW, but there was one other table besides us? So I'm not really sure what our waitress was doing? It was 12 on a Wednesday and I was really surprised how slow it was. Our waters were never refilled, which is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. We ordered our food and my brother and boyfriend were immediately in love with the Flat Iron slider. Problem is they did the "mix and match" option and really didn't care for the other two they ordered. They both agreed they would go back, but just order the Flat Iron. The potato salad was delicious and I was really surprised by it! I ordered the Falafel lunch and it was ok... All in all this place is mediocre... the food is ok, the service is terrible, but the concept is amazing!! I really hope Slider Inn improves their service and makes it a more enjoyable atmosphere to go along with their fun concept and amazing patio!

Midtown has so many bars and restaurants, that I often forget and go to the same places over and over again. Slider Inn needs to be added to my regular rotation. The staff is uber friendly. The drinks are cheap and the pours are strong. When it's raining or snowing, fireball shots are only $2. That's a bargain. The patio is awesome here! Part is covered, and part is open, so it can be visited at all times. They have a nice size beer selection with plenty of Memphis brews. Of course, they have sliders. I have had them, but it's been a long time. I recently found out that you can order just one, so next time I go for happy hour, I will try one. I'm usually not that hungry right when I get off work. They do have a great salad. Who would have thought to go here for a salad?? Not me! You can customize them. I added steak and blue cheese to mine, and it was one of the best ever, especially for the price! Try it!

I was really, really disappointed with this place. I wanted to like it so bad. First of all, the service was terrible. It took 15 minutes for our waitress to bring us menus and another 20 minutes for her to take our drink and food order... We decided to eat here because we had heard the lobster bisque was really good and I was craving it. Of course, they were out and didn't have any. Shocker! Next, we sat for 35 minutes on our food?!? Really?!? For sliders?!? Long story short, sliders were decent, but not worth the wait. Oh! Did I mention a biker man was seated next to us and using god d*** in every other sentence followed with the F word?? Yeah, true story... Won't be back.

My friend and I went here on a Friday afternoon to grab a few beers and some burgers. They have local beer on tap, which is always a plus in my book. I got the pick three slider meal. I chose the original, the citrus marinated chicken, and the jerk pork. All of these were right on point. I will definitely have to come back to try the others. Our waitress was also very friendly and I never had an empty beer when I wanted another. Therein lies the problem. Once I found out that the drafts were $6 a pint, I decided the one I was drinking would be my last. If it wasn't for that, I would give Slider Inn 5 stars.

  • Juliet D.

I'm giving it two stars here because of the ignorance of the staff. Apparently they can't serve me any alcohol because the expiration date on my driver's licence doesn't match my birthday, despite me producing a legal state ID. My ID is accepted everywhere else, but I guess it's not good enough for this place. This is the first time I've heard about this. I think this is ridiculous.

Disclaimer: to be fair my fiancé does work here, but even before he cooked there I loved the fries :) If you have ever been to Bardog Tavern downtown then you know those fries at Slider Inn are the bomb.com !! They really do give McDonalds some good competition!! But enough about the fries only because that wouldn't be fair to the establishment. Slider Inn is a really good spot! Whether its patio season and you can enjoy a Hop'R full of High Cotton beer or the infamous L.U.I.s or you inside chilling with the friggin cool bartenders or my fav server, Dawn! I really do like the place. Everyone is cool and they talk to people and make everyone feel special. There are alot of regulars that come in and drink their breakfast shots(Jameson based) and I see alot of first timers who love it and come back for more! Even better than atmosphere and service is Slider Inns food, which is why we Yelp right? Well with the new menu now it's hard to get bored with the same ol sliders because they've added some of everything and on top of the everything you have add ons like maybe a fried egg to you Flat Iron steak slider or bacon to your Chickn Fil Ay slider. Lol.. I love it. Only thing I can't vouch on is the potato salad but I did see a guy eat some without stopping to breathe :) I have even tried salads and the side salad is a good portion. They are definitely vegetarian friendly! Duh its midtown so no worries there. Falafels and nachos loaded with everything are two i see ordered alot. So no worries. But yea come try Slider Inn it's good and if you like food, beer, fun ppl and Jameson then this is the place for you. If not get it to go lol either way you GOTTA TRY IT!! Omg I almost forgot about dessert! They make their own ice cream and I've tried S'mores, Choc Chip and Cookies n Cream. My fav was the Cookies and Cream..... In a WAFFLE CONE!!! Gosh I Love Slider Inn!!

The Slider Inn was are go to stop on the night of St. Patty's after a long day recording! I was happy to see on the menu they had VEGAN SLIDERS! I thought wait a minute this is to good to be true! But then I said, oh yes it's my Day I found me pot of gold! Total luck of the IRISH! I have never had Vegan Sliders so I was super stoked to try them! Man they were good, a great mix of beans, veggies, tofu, all the good stuff packed into 3 little burgers with fries! My fave meal of the trip for sure! Our waitress Victoria, as we called her Queen Victoria was super awesome, even getting our non alcohol drinker a GREEN SPRITE! TO celebrate St. Patty's. She was rad and talked to us and Invited us back for her next shift! Then the Manager came over and asked what kinda of shots we wanted, I told him about a shot we do at the Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines, IA called the Communion and he was happy enough to give it a whirl and it ruled! And heck they were on the house! SO I left a big old fat tip for them and we called it a night! Everyone there was super awesome, and the patio ruled.. I will be back for more on my next visit!

I joined a group of girls for the Monday Sex Trivia game. We arrived early not knowing that trivia would not start at the listed time. That said, we had time to catch up and place food orders. After we had been there a half hour the lights were dimmed and the music cranked. This made it extremely difficult for us to hear not only each other, but also the trivia caller. The service, food and drinks were good. The trivia was a bit disorganized as we could not hear the rules or questions. I ended up leaving early because I could not take shouting over the music.

  • Shaun B.

Ever since this past June, I've been coming here a few times a month for sex trivia night on Mondays with a group of friends, and the experience is always a blast. They have a good beer selection and I certainly like the creativity utilized in the creation of their sliders. The owner of the establishment is exceptionally friendly and always makes you feel welcome. Unfortunately, the same cannot always be said of the wait-staff here. The service is very hit or miss; there will be plenty of times where our drinks go empty and we are not checked on for long periods for need of refills, processing checks seems to take a very long time, and some of the staff do not seem at all engaged with the guests. However, there are some servers who are very attentive and make you feel welcome; it truly is luck of the draw. However, where they are lacking, they make up for it with fun events like trivia and other promotions, making this a fun destination for a group of friends looking to have a fun evening.

Ashley found this place on yelp and she wouldn't stop talking about going so we went. This restaurant has a huge wooden deck outside that looks like it would be tons of fun for a group of people. We both ordered the mix n match and we got the Memphis original, chick fill ayy (buffalo style), and the low rider. The Memphis slider was by far the best one out of the three. The meat was seasoned to perfection! Our second favorite was the chick fill ay. It was a little spicy but the perfect amount of spicy! Don't bother with chips or coleslaw the fries are too good to pass up!! This place is a hidden gem and I would recommend it to anyone living in Memphis or visiting!!

GREAT food, great service, and a really nice variety of sliders to choose from. My husband and I both got the mix so we could try different things. I got a Big Deuce, one of the chicken sliders, and a The Pork is a Jerk. The fries were thin and kind of crispy, just how I like them. It was a lot of food, but I almost finished it all because it was so good. Our waitress was really attentive even though there were several other large groups. Dare I say that this is up there with Huey's? Is that 901 blasphemy? Maybe. But it really is that good. We will definitely be back.

  • Naomi M.

This place has some good eats and amazing fries. Service is what's really keeping this review from getting a 4 star. Every time I've been here it's almost like they are short handed. However, the food is Delish!

  • Amber C.

Not the nicest staff, but great food and a nice bar. The sliders are amazing, and the fries are a force to be reckoned with. Don't go if you aren't eating carbs. You'll just be sad. Try the lobster roll - it's expensive but delicious - or the mix and match sliders. None of the choices are bad! Decent beer selection, really nice bartenders (the waitresses not as much, but never rude, just inattentive), and Sex Trivia on Mondays is both some of the most fun and most horrifying trivia in Memphis.

Things I love about Slider Inn: 1. Great beer selection (local and otherwise) 2. Friendly waitstaff (I mean, seriously, how can you not smile at a waitress who forgets your order, then slaps herself in the face?) 3. TVs for those who want to watch sports, muted for those who don't 4. Three syllables: PA. TI. O. 5. MULTIPLE yummy vegetarian options?!?! At a bar?!?! Count me in. The falafel slider and fried egg sliders are good for veg-heads and m-eaters alike, and I have a special place in my heart for anywhere that puts a decent rendition of PB&J on the menu. There's your five stars right there, but I could go on. I appreciated that the manager was hanging around greeting customers, plenty of space to sit, and a laid-back atmosphere where we were welcome to stay a while. I haven't been felt so relaxed in a good long while. This might very well be my new favorite spot in Memphis!

  • Lo B.

I'm a pescetarian and I found the brunch menu to be slightly limited in variety options for non meat eaters. I got the PB& strawberry sliders, which were just okay because the menu said strawberries and what I got was jelly...I was looking forward to fresh fruit. My friend had the chicken and waffles, which were decent. The service was awful--I mean, awful. The waitress was loopy and messed up my hash brown order and took forever getting drinks and didn't check on us a single time. Maybe we just got unlucky, so I'll give em another try, but overall, not impressed.

This place is phenomenal. It has a fun atmosphere: picnic tables outside and a really fun, casual group of customers who are extremely friendly and willing to share their night. The service is extremely friendly, and the food is great. You can easily eat for $10 a person. Definitely going back!

  • Rob B.

I posted a tip well before writing this review whereby I gave this place kudos for just being a really cool bar. To me that's all you really need to know...the food is not just good, but uniquely different from all the standards by focusing & specializing on one particular type (hence the name of the establishment). They have great draft beer...some of which even the nearby Young Avenue Deli can't boast...that changes regularly. The girls working there are super friendly - cool chics. The bar is tiny...in fact the entire place is small...but I really like it. Its relatively close to where I work (the airport area) so I could easily see myself becoming a regular. And if I lived in the Cooper-Young area I would definately be here WAY too much. I hope this place continues to do well and keep with the formula they are using for ambiance, waitresses, beer selection, food, etc.. it works; I wouldn't change a thing.

  • Amanda M.

Like many others who've written reviews, I really wanted to like this place!! While the inside leaves a bit to be desired, even for pubs, in regard to ambiance, the patio is fantastic and perfectly situated. The food is okay, but, for me, it just seemed like three really expensive mediocre Krystal burgers. $12 was pricey but I'd pay it if they were a bit larger and better quality. And it took a realllllly long time to get the food and the check.... By far the worst part of the experience was our waiter Dawn, who smiled condescendingly to the older people at the table when they had a few too many questions, and gave the rudest sneer when we replied that we would, if it was convenient, like separate checks, but understood if she wanted just one as we were a larger group. She took ages, yet had plenty of time to stop and spend extended time talking to friends. She was only nice when she dropped off the credit card receipt come tip time. Honestly, I might have returned to try something or even just have a beer b/c I love the location, but she really ruined the experience for me and the table. Left unhappy.

Try the mix and match from the menu. With different sliders. Blue cheese slider was good. Falafel slider is Ok. Staff is very helpful.

  • Kathleen M.

I would give them 5 stars but the service was mediocre at best. Sliders were great but the sides weren't equally as tasty. I ordered potato salad, and after one bite- I asked to exchange it, it was overloaded with onion. I was to no refunds and no substitutions. Too bad, otherwise I would've been overjoyed with my visit.
