It's local... It is kinda 'fast food' but don't expect your experience to be quick because the microwave still takes time. If you think Subway makes a great sandwich, you will probably think this is great Tex-Mex. They don't...it's not. That said Pancho's is totally Memphis. For me this is a flash back to 1980 when there was not a "Mexican" restaurant in every strip mall on every corner. This was Mexican food in Memphis as far as I knew growing up. They invented cheese dip and not that white stuff in the strip mall. Try a Taco.. it comes with a green dressing of some sort that is also uniquely Pancho's.

Pancho's is a Memphis classic. Where else can you go and have your food microwaved before it's served to you? I grew up going to the location on Poplar & White Station (now a Starbucks), and this one is one of the only locations left. Don't come here expecting anything fancy or groundbreaking - it's Mexican food ala dive bar (sans the booze). It's delightfully cheap, and when you have a craving, nothing else will do. Make sure to try the cheese dip and get a taco just for the dressing.

The place needs a new fresh look. From the looks of things the building is going to cave in anyday. Yikes! So I went to the drive thru. Did I say yikes! I am a little taken by surprise by the looks of the place but I live by my matto: Buy Eat Yelp Repete...Lol It was worth it the food was excellent. Whispers...but the building tho...yikes!!!

Perfect Mexican food. I get 2 taco salads & 2 enchiladas for less than $12. The price was reasonable & the food was good. I will go again soon.

This is Mexican food for people who aren't adventurous enough to go to a Mexican restaurant. Or even Taco Bell for that matter. I usually don't review fast food restaurants but this place was on my list of neighborhood restaurants to try. It retrospect, it shouldn't have been. This place is known for their Mexican Pizza ($3.50) and that's what I had, of the spinach variety. It tasted a little bland and the taco shell was stale. (I'm probably going to be sick tonight). Add this place to my list of regrets in life.

Its fast food Tex Mex. Just keep that in mind. The cheese dip is famous. The green sauce on the tacos is awesome. Everything else is average, but not that great. I would rather buy the cheese dip and green sauce at Kroger and make my own tacos at home.

Just ate some take out. I had loaded nachos and 3 loaded hard shell tacos. All the gunk on the nachos made the chips soft and mushy. Both the nacho chips and taco shells were a tad stale. The meat had decent enough flavoring to raise this two star review up to a three. Other than the semi decent seasoning this is easily a two star review.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
