The quick & dirty: Pros: Clean bathrooms, decent chips, okay guac. Cons: Sub-par food, bad service, dirty tablecloths, saw a bug on the wall. I'll preface this by saying we are from Houston, TX and are used to great Mexican food and Tex-mex; also we are vegetarian, so I can't comment on the meat dishes. Stopped in here for a late lunch with the wife. We entered, and there were a few employees sitting at a table chatting. They looked up at us for a moment then looked away. We stood at the entry for a few minutes until one of the employees (that previously looked up at us) walked over and seated us. While we waited for our server, we noticed the stains on the white tablecloths, but remained positive. Our waiter came over, asked us what we wanted to drink ("What are we having?") and walked away. He returned with our drinks and chips and salsa, and asked if we were ready. My wife asked him whether the torta or the burrito was better/more popular/recommended, and he said "the torta is a sandwich so it's up to you." Duh, we know what a torta is, and know how to read the menu, we were looking for some direction. Anyways, she ordered a veggie burrito but got it with beans, cheese, sour cream, and avocados. She asked if they could put pico in it and he said they don't do that, it only comes on the side. So I ordered the cheese torta with all the fixins sans sour cream. We also got guac as an app. Our waiter took our order and walked away. He seemed completely bored and never even smiled. The guac came, and it had fresh avocado mixed with pico...it was decent but had way too much lime. The chips were warm and tasted okay, but a little too thick for us. The salsa was more like a picante and not very good. Our food came next. The wife said her burrito was boring, that she could've made it at home, and it needed a lot more flavor. She ended up putting a lot of the guac and salsa on top of it. It tasted better after the additions. My torta was bad...there was a ton of cheddar cheese (I think) grilled onto tasteless bread with maybe 2 teaspoons of beans spread over the sandwich with a few pieces of onion, 1 slice of tomato, and a few jalapeños. I took all the cheese off, and added guac and salsa also. The waiter was cleaning off another table across the room, and asked us, "Everything good?", and I said "fine." A bug ran across the wall just as the server walked away. Our waiter did bring my wife a refill without us asking, which was nice. But he also dropped our check on the table without asking us if we wanted anything else or dessert. We had to ask for a few more chips also. All in all, a poor experience. I can compromise on the service and sometimes forgo it, as long as the food is awesome. Here, the food sucked and so did the service. Save your time and money and go eat somewhere else.

Great food! Outside eating area is actually better atmosphere than sitting inside. They only have lime margaritas :( but those are still good :)

I should have known when we walked in the door, and the staff made us feel so unwelcome, that this was not going to turn out good. Not one smile. Felt like we pissed them off because we wanted to sit on the patio. Hello! 80 degrees, I'm sitting on the patio.....Then, we did get chips and salsa but NO ONE came to our table for drinks. Sat for 10 minutes so we just up and left. Not even sure they noticed. Will never step foot in there again.

Las Delicias is not like your common Mexican restaurant. The one-page menu keeps your selections limited to good, fresh tasting dishes. The tortilla chips put other Mexican restaurants to shame--they're crispy, flaky, well seasoned, and straight out of the fryer. The salsa also tastes fresh--and has a spicy kick. The Enchiladas are my favorite--especially the Enchiladas Poblanos (i just wish they would come with rice). They're not dripping with cheese and oil like you would find in most other mexican places. Tacos Pastor is also another favorite. They make great margaritas--made with fresh lime juice--like they're supposed to be made. I'm so glad they opened up a location on Quince. Not a lot of folks know that it's here but it's easily accessible off I-240. Also, if you work near the Poplar/Ridgeway area, Las Delicias makes a quick lunch stop.

So many good reviews and so many reviews from people I usually can count on. This place didn't live up to the billing at all. I would say it's probably one of the worst Mexican places I've been to. I had the all in one fajita. While it looked good, it had almost no taste. Sprinkles of small pieces of meat. Worst fajita I've ever had. My lady got the steak burrito with a side of rice. She loved the rice but the burrito was so so. The place was super packed so I thought for sure that was a good sign. I'm not sure why people like this place. Only reason I didn't give a 1 star was because the waiter was friendly and did her job.

Man I just love this place! First off their prices are on point! They have a separate menu where you can just order like a $2.00 taco and it's authentic Mexican food! I had a egg burrito and it was delicious!! The queso was just right and their chips are home made. You have that feeling that you are in a Hispanic area because they have the awesome Hispanic music playing and the cooks are all Mexican. The patio is my favorite in memphis! They have beautiful fans out there and nice lights! Drinks are great too service is great. You have to try this place. It's kind of hidden in east memphis but I found it while shopping at at the fish store

Very good Mexican food at reasonable prices. The margaritas are some of the best in town. There is a nice patio which often has live music. However, the service is hit-and-miss. Sometimes I've had prompt, focused and friendly service. At other times the service has been somewhat rude or I've had to beg for refills. If they could have consistently good service, I'd add a star.

I have had so many bad experiences at this restaurant. But I tried it again recently since the food is always great. Well, the food was pretty good this time, however, I noticed how dirty the place was! The walls are missing pieces of drywall, chairs are dirty and sticky, the floors and baseboards are dirty (extremely noticeable). And lastly.. The bathroom.. I won't even go there. So I was only half surprised by the roach crawling on the wall next to the kitchen.. No, I will not be back ever.

i went when it was brand new, so it was lacking in atmosphere and the service was a little weak. still, great prices for quality food. a return visit showed not much had changed. definitely not like hokey tex-mex places. and the pastor tacos were muy delicioso!!

the food is super cheap. the location is close to home. the service is okay. a little on the slow side. the stars: the chips, the guacamole (it's chunky). the misses: the tamales are on the dry side. the menu allows you to try a variety of different things. i had heard everyone else talk about how awesome the other locations were. i may have gone on an off night but i have to say that it was okay but it was not as thrilling as i had hoped.

I haven't eaten in a Mexican restaurant in Memphis in many years and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Having just moved back here from L.A. I wasn't sure what to expect from the food, but I certainly wasn't expecting the interior walls to be painted in light tones or the restaurant to feel so warm and welcoming. I wanted to try a few items from the menu, and here's what really stood out for me. The chips & guacamole were on-point. The chips were fresh and had a nice crispy and flakey texture and the guacamole was simply refreshing and delicious. The tacos al pastor made my night. In So.Cal mexican restaurants serve carnitas (shredded pork), which I would have ordered, but in retrospect I'm actually quite happy this wasn't on the menu. The al pastor was delicious. The pork was well seasoned and tender and has me salivating right now. The next time I return to Las Delicious I will absolutely order another dish with the al pastor and perhaps a Margarita. I've heard good things. If I had only tried the al pastor I would have given a solid 4 stars, but since I also ordered a couple of other items that were just OK, I couldn't do it. If they allowed half stars, this place would get 3 1/2 for sure. So if you are craving Mexican food, and want to try a place that doesn't have the cantina vibe, try Las Delicias for a nice change of pace.

Went there in regards to reviews on yelp - got there early so was not crowded but filled up quickly. Menu is very limited. Chips & salsa were brought out fairly quickly - salsa good but nothing exciting - chips were 2nd rate. And they had more salt on them than I am used to - I asked if they had any w/o or less salt - waiter checked and said no. I ordered the 'chunky' guac - basically cut up avocado with salsa cruda - not what one would call guacamole in the traditional sense - it too had more salt than I cared for - waiter sensed that I wasn't happy with it and offered to have some made without salt - he did & it was very good for what it was. For main dish I had the enchilada poblano with mole. Not sure what was 'poblano' about it as I could find no poblano chilie in it. The mole was passable, slightly sweet, but again too much salt. The chicken & tortillas than made up the enchilada were good. The waiter was attentive. Probably will try another place when I return to this part of Memphis. - I've lived in south Txas, L.A., Miami, NC & traveled in Mexico. I love Mexican food.

This was our first visit. Our table was dirty. Our service was horrible but the food was delicious. Everyone in the family liked their meal. I probably liked the food the least because I'm a vegetarian and their weren't many options. My fajitas came covered in melted cheese which was disappointing. Like I said the rest of my family raved about the food. There is no kids menu.

The guacamole at Las Delicias is the best in Memphis. They also make their own tortillas and chips. I also love the tacos al pastor. Fantastic place that should get more love on yelp.

This place is a hidden gem! The food is a step above your average Mexican restaurants. We beelined to the big pretty patio, which was kind of a mistake because we ended up being the only table out there and the busy server kind of took a long time to check in on us and bring us our check.. BUT- the margaritas were made using fresh squeezed limes and looked more like cute cocktails than your average margarita.. I liked that. The tacos were SO GOOD. The pineapple in them was such a great addition I never knew my tacos were missing. On POINT!!! The patio and food quality is really great here. I'll be back!

hmm something has happened. Their menu at this location is the simple menu they used to have at the little "working mans" location on Mendenhall by the bowling alley (it is closed now) If your looking for a full service menu like they used to have at this location...it's gone. As well as the professional ambiance. It is actually looking rundown. This placed used to be packed for lunch...now not so much. I would not bring visitors in from out of town for a business lunch. That being said if you want some place to get a good taco or tortas....they still have them.

No ambiance, very unappealing. One 9x12 canvas piece on one wall of a 10'X25' room. Service was poor. Table for 5 and each dish was below temp and poorly plated. Fajitas came out on a China plate, no traditional cast iron skillet and there was no sizzle, very unappetizing. Took over 50 minutes to get our food. Lights in the dining room were so bright, we had to ask 3-4 times if they could be dimmed. Apparently, no one was overseeing or managing the obvious needs of the biz. I will not return.

I live in Memphis. I am not from Mexico City or recently lived in Texas. I cannot compare to all of those enlightened folks who can boast their worldly experience on Mexican food. Fortunately, I have eaten Mexican food in a few different places and can tell you that this is pretty good stuff. I have had too many visits here to tell you that everything is always perfect. Sometimes the staff is distracted and don't pay proper attention. Not good! I have seen fruit flies months ago. That can happen anywhere and they seem to be gone now. Outside of the above stated I have had a few bad chips every once and a while but really overall it is a solid place to eat. Everything is made fresh and is on point from the way they create it. It's better than ANY Mexican restaurant that I have been to. Between here and the Park location I have racked up at least 100 visits. Solid! Solid! Joint!

The quaint patio is a great spot on a nice evening. We had a large group between kickball games so we took advantage of air conditioning this trip. Our waitress was in the weeds most of our visit. We ordered a pitcher of top shelf margaritas, asked for a specific tequila and was advised they didn't carry it. She started listing what they did offer and our requested tequila was available, she just didn't know the pronunciation. She was charismatic, but waters, drinks, ordering and food delivery was very slow. Onto the food. The guacamole is excellent here. It's made with nice, big chunks of avocado. Green mush is not appealing to me! I ordered the pastor taco and a pork tamale. The pork was moist and the chunk of pineapple in the taco was a nice surprise. The tamale was very dense. This is my standard order and, although I usually finish it, this was too much for me. It was delicious. Overall, this is a very nice spot for a few couples or a whole team. I would recommend sitting on the patio if the weather allows! The service and ambiance has always been better in the open air. One last note, credit card information was stolen here. My boyfriend lost his card, got the new one in that day and only used it at this business. False charged were noticed on his account two days later. Use cash or just check in with your card account later.

When it comes to Mexican food, Las Delicias is probably some of the more authentic you'll find in the area, and for a reasonable price as well. This particular Las Delicias apparently used to be a more upscale restaurant and kept a lot of the ambiance. The restaurant is very clean and utilizes a lot of light colors in their décor. This particular Las Delicias also is less crowded than the other locations in the city, which is probably due to being in an area with far less traffic. The service is always friendly which is a huge bonus. This is one of the few places in town that serves horchata, which is one of my favorite drinks. Their chips are made in house and their salsa is also very tasty and is well balanced in its spiciness. Their tacos ($2) are very authentic; the tortillas are small as they should be and they use the meat of your choice, cilantro, onions, and pico de gallo (on the side). They have a taco called the "gringa" ($3) which comes with cheese on the taco if you choose to go American style. Their quesadillas ($4.50) are also very good; they are not conservative with the amount of cheese or meat they use in these. Their fajita nachos (approx $9) are exceptionally good and very filling. They are completely overloaded with meat and other toppings, so you will most likely need to use the complimentary chips that come with dining here to finish off your nachos. For two people, it should be rather easy to get out of here on a $20 - $25 tab. The ambiance is good, the food is great, and the service is friendly. I would definitely recommend coming here!

Not a lot of good Mexican restaurants in Memphis. Las Delicias is cheap and not bad. Tacos de Pastor are "da bomb" and so are their margaritas. On the downside... This location has the laziest workers. The service is just plain ole horrible and the restaurant is dirty. I've read a few reviews regarding the gnats. ... So true... If you're ever lonely and want to hang out with a gang of gnats that will never leave you alone... Las Delicias on Quince is THE place for youuuuuuuuu.

Las Delicias is our new favorite Mexican joint in town. They offer the usual American inspired, Mexican fare. Their chips are homemade and offer a great texture. They're much thicker than the standard tortilla chips offered elsewhere. Their salsa is slightly spicy with a wonderful taste. I usually order the enchiladas with beans. Their fajitas are excellent as well and strike me as more authentic. They don't focus on the presentation (i.e - the sizzling skillet) and they focus on what's most important, THE FOOD! Try and upstage my dukedom. That just gives me more incentive to come here, as if I needed another reason...

We ate dinner here last night and I was surprised at how things had changed since our last visit. It took several minutes after we were seated for the waitress to take our drink order. We managed to go through most of the chips and salsa before we got our drinks and then ordered our food. It was at least 30 minutes before we got our sandwiches. My Cuban sandwich had a very thin and dry slice of ham with a similar amount of pork and cheese. The other food ordered at our table was similar in the sparse and bland fillings. The waitress said they were busy but I think our order was lost or ignored. At any rate, we were disappointed and will eat Mexican food elsewhere in the future.

This is just a review of the Quince location. I am not sure what happened to this place. It was never amazing but the last few times I went have been terrible. Last night will be my last visit. My fiance was under the weather and wanted some soup so we swung by and ordered some soup, tacos, and fajitas. The food wasn't great but not terrible. It was the service and atmosphere that absolutely suck. We commented that every member of the staff is angry and unpleasant. They walked around loudly complaining about life in general and other employees the entire time we were there. There is no atmosphere at all. To add to the angry employees, there are no pictures on the wall, but there are picture hangers, and there was no music. I always choose to go to locally owned restaurants over chain but will not support this local restaurant again. I am sad to see a popular Memphis restaurant be ruined by rude and angry staff members.

I've been a loyal customer to Las Delicias for many years now and I'm surprised I am just now reviewing this fine establishment. First off, the portions are generous and low priced. I love how I can come here with $10, pig out and leave full. Secondly, the food is just as the name describes- it's delicious! I've been coming to a few of their locations for years and I've never had a bad experience! Finally, the service is awesome. The servers are always prompt, very friendly and they often check in on your table to make sure you have everything you need. My recommendations? The nachos are the jam! My favorite thing to order here is the guacamole. Seriously. The guac here is chunky and mixed with pico.... Mmmm! Not to forget, they make their own chips to perfectly complement the guac! I love this place and I recommend everyone who loves tasty food!

We were here for our kid's end of season softball party. There were about 30 of us (kids and adults) and paid with 7-8 separate checks. Food was delicious and served relatively promptly for a busy summer Friday night. I had the all in one fajitas, my husband had enchiladas and our daughter had pork chop tacos. Everything was amazing! Service was friendly and efficient in spite of our large party and the huge crowd: Mexican is normally not my favorite cuisine but this place is worth a revisit!

If you're going to visit Las Delicias, there's one thing you need to do as soon as you get there: get the guacamole. Seriously. Even if you think you don't like guacamole, you should order some. The guacamole is served with a spoon, which you'll need. This isn't a bowl full of mashed avocados that are easily scooped onto chips. The menu isn't lying when it says that the guacamole is made fresh to order. It was clear that after I ordered, someone in the kitchen cut an avocado into chunks just for me. After looking for a lunch menu (Las Delicias doesn't have any lunch-specific offerings), I ordered the chicken enchiladas verde. When the server set it down in front of me, I was sort of amazed. The dish was huge - there wasn't a part of the plate not covered in food or verde sauce. It also looked insanely fresh. Somewhere under that mound of lettuce, tomato, avocado and sour cream, there are three corn tortillas filled with chicken. While the food was absolutely gorgeous, the interior of the restaurant was a bit odd. The walls are bare, and fancy red upholstered chairs (like you'd find in a really nice home dining room) are pulled up to regular restaurant tables. All of the effort has clearly been put into the food, which isn't a bad thing at all.

I love this place. Not only is it two blocks from my house, but the food is so fresh and very good. My favorite is the chorizo and egg torta. So delicious! The patio is probably the best in town. All of their produce comes from the Memphis Farmers Market, which makes this place rock even more.

So, I've revisited Las Delicias more than once and the service has been fine. (Insert sigh of relief here). Their tacos are perfection and my new favorite is the charro beans.

You like Texmex you should really go somewhere else. You like real Mexican food with fresh ingredients this is the place for you. $2 tacos are where you should explore each is different and they all taste great. The chips are great and the salsa is very nice too. You won't spend a lot at this place and I think they charge less that their product is worth. Don't look for a lot of heavy sauces or piles of cheese but look for bites that have clean tastes, nice flavor combinations and leaving you wanting to order another. The chorizo taco is not to be ignored, chorizo cooked right on a small corn tortilla with just a little fresh cheese. Simple but the taste is so on point that you learn what real Mexican food it. Visit you won't be disappointed

Yum! Came here for a much-needed late lunch with a co-worker. We were both craving some good Mexican food, and he checked that Las Delicias had many positive reviews (I roll with Yelp - he's a TripAdvisor guy). LD looks more like a nicer sit-down restaurant, with a nice-looking bar, and white linen tablecloths - not the typical, mom-and-pop type Mexican restaurants I frequent in almost every town. It also has a much more limited menu, but that should not deter anyone from trying LD. The prices are as reasonable as any mom-and-pop I've ever visited, and the food was very delicious. We both loved the warm, flaky tortilla chips, and the salsa it came with had a nice kick to it. We both ordered the chicken fajitas, and they came out quickly, fresh and sizzling and tasty. Needless to say, I was quite delighted to find the fajitas also had some chopped bacon sizzling away with them. Oddly enough, I've never had a chicken/bacon fajita, and it is magnificent. The fajitas are served with your choice of warmed flour or corn tortillas, the corn tortillas being a nice option that I don't typically find on the Mexican menu - usually it seems, I have to request the corn tortillas, and I have even been charged additional for them. Service was quick and friendly. I would definitely go back to LD the next time I am in that part of Memphis. Prices were reasonable too, for a huge portion of fajitas, beans and rice, was about $10.

I lived in Mexico City for quite a while, so when I moved to Memphis, I really wanted to find a place where I could find the real Mexican "Antojitos" which are nothing more that the typical tacos, tortas, enchiladas, etc. So, when one of my coworkers told me about "Las Delicias", I decided to give it a try. And indeed they do serve the real deal, the tacos, tortas, enchiladas, etc, are just like in Mexico with the authentic spices and flavor, and of course, practically every dish is delicious. And it is very cheap to have an abundant meal, however, don't expect the real high end Mexican cuisine, they don't serve that here, that would be too pricey for the regular customer here, only in other heavily Mexican populated cities you will find that kind of places, like LA, or Dallas or Houston, etc. One curious thing about this restaurant, is their famous "Guacamole", although it is also delicious, I would say that it is the only thing that is not Mexican on the menu. Nevertheless, I enjoy it too. And by the way, if you order, the "Gringa" tacos, they are called that way in Mexico too, so they are also authentic. And about the service, the staff is courteous and reasonably fast, unless the place is packed, and although they are 100% bilingual, it sure helps if you can talk to them in Spanish.

Las Delicias is wonderful. Authentic Mexican tacos that are fantastic and probably the best guacamole in the city. The restaurant itself is very simple but the servers are very friendly and efficient. I hate highlighting this as a benefit but it's also super cheap! I pretty much always get guacamole and tacos so I can't speak to much else, but all my friends love eating here too. The only drawback for a Mexican restaurant is that their margaritas aren't amazing. They are still good, just not flavored and super strong. Doesn't stop me from getting one each time I stop by :):)

Mexican food seems to be a universally affordable option, but it usually doesn't bring the idea of a "date night" to mind. But in Memphis we are super lucky to have a REALLY good Mexican restaurant. Even better, the location closest to my house has taken over the space of a failed "nice" restaurant. So if you're looking for bright colors and sombreros on the wall this is not you place, but I love it! And they have an amazing Patio! April is a funky month in Memphis weather wise because sometimes it's nice and other times not so much. But last week the bf and I were lucky enough to find ourselves out on a nice night, and the patio had an open table, yay! The prices are amzing, $2 tacos, $9 nachos.Typically I get the steak nachols, delicious! And huge, seriously, I can never finish. If I don't get the nachos then I get 2 tacos and split an order of queso, sometimes 3 if I'm really hungry. We're not tequilla drinkers so we get sodas and never spend more than $30 with tax and tip. Yay. Did I mention they also don't play cheesy music? I love this place. Sdie note: It seriously annoys the bf that the menu has an Americanized vocabulary (steak nachos vs carne asida) but this Gringa apprecaites it.

This place is muy delicias! I would gladly recommend anyone to eat here. It took me forever to try this place and I am saddened that I hadn't sooner! I found out about it because a friend had them cater a wedding shower I attended. Another bonus is that it's in walking distance from my home. Try the guacamole and queso dip, you won't regret it! The chips are home made and are awesome!!! Aside from the starters, I always get the chicken or steak quesadilla with beans and rice on the side. The rice is soft and has pieces of corn in it and I just love it. I usually finish the rice before taking a bite of anything else. As for the service, it is fast and good. I haven't tried their alcoholic beverages but I'm willing to bet that they are just as delicious as everything else I have tried. They also have a patio and a party room. Hope you enjoy!

Best guacamole I've ever had (yes -better AND cheaper than Babalu). The one page menu is limited to some standard items: enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, and quesadillas... but the real sweet spot pertains to the tortas. If you want an awesome and unique sandwich, try the Cuban (my main go-to). Just remember, whatever you do, you must order guacamole to kick off the meal.

Great place! Much better decor, bigger, better organization and tasty food than their Park Ave location. We had the guacamole and steak burritos. The chips were even fresher, flakier here. The blended Margarita was just so-so tho in my book. They had a great outdoor patio too...with plenty of shady spots. We will be back.

Delicious chips! The guacamole is fresh and delicious as well. The Fajitas were different from what you expect but they are delicious and served with small authentic tortillas. Tasted like authentic street tacos to me. Very good! Check it out!

I would like to preface this review with I LOVE LAS DELICIAS and having to write a bad review breaks my heart. When the Quince location originally opened it was awesome and just as good if not better then the Park location. My husband and I even had our dress rehearsal dinner here and it was perfect. But my recent visits to this location have become more and more disappointing. The waiter/waitress staff although very friendly does not work hard. Every time I go in half or more of the staff is sitting at the bar hanging out even when they have tables! Also hygiene has gone downhill, tables and chairs are sticky and be prepared to spend half your meal swatting beer gnats out of your face and off your food and margarita. The food is still amazing but the atmosphere and the overall cleanliness of the place makes me now start to worry about the quality of the food and drinks coming out. Even though this location is close to our home we will be sticking with the Park location from now on. If the Quince location gets new management and cleans up their act we would be back.

The food is good but the people running the Quince Rd location are horrible. They can't seem to get a take out order right. We got home on 2 different occasions with nothing close to what we ordered.

I have been going to the Las on Park for a while. I was glad when they opened this location because it is closer to my house. It also has more seating which was totally necessary due to the amount of people that show up here. The food is excellent. The chips are the best around and the salsa is great too. To top it off, the prices are very reasonable. The quesadillas are close to the same price as Taco Bell, but are wayyyyy better and don't give you GI trouble like Toxic Hell. The service can be slow at times, but with that said; the last two times I went we had good service from a friendly waiter who was crackin jokes with us whenever he came to the table.

This is real deal Mexican. They do it their own way, much different than any place I have been before. First off they have these awesome chips, not like the usual ones. They're are comparable to pita chips but different, real authentic type of chip. The first time I came here I was stuck on their steak, so I pretty much just ate steak everything until I came across the all-in-one fajitas. These are completely out of this world. They are not your average fajitas, they are made with a variety of meats including pork chop and bacon which makes everything better. Then they serve house made tortillas that are perfect with the fajitas. Add a good beer and you are guaranteed to have the ultimate combo.

The chips are amazing!! The salsa was also good, but I highly recommend the guacamole! It was delicious! Went in the mid afternoon, and the atmosphere was quite and casual. The margaritas were strong, which I like, and were not overpriced! I had the enchiladas and liked them. My mom had the tamales, which were just okay. The service was average. Overall, a good experience. I'd go back for more!

Their chips are unbelievable - thin, homemade, and served warm. Salsa is homemade, loaded with cilantro, thick, and not too spicy. I had the steak Alambre entry - fantastic. Wife had the chicken burrito and loved it. Service was fast, polite, and attentive. Highly recommended. Will return.

The best tortilla chips I've ever eaten. They have the small, more authentic soft corn tacos with pork, chicken, and beef with cilantro like the street varieties in Mexico. y favorite is the Chicken Quesadilla. Menu is limited compared to the run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurants in Memphis, but those tend to blend together after a while. Like Mulan Bistro, their food is lighter, less greasy and heavy. The milk cake is really good also. One of my faves as a lunch restaurant.

This is the real deal. You're looking for true Mexican food, you'll find it here. No Tex-Mex. This is the taste of Mexico City. Their one page menu more than satisfies. My business travel in Mexico has taken me far from the "tourist zones" and to eateries just like this. The tacos al pastor are off the hook. They're working to perfect a tamarind margarita, a treat you'll find at great joints in Mexico City (wonder where they got that idea). Ask for one. They need the practice. The decor is pretty plain, but worth overlooking for great food.

3.5 stars. Today was the second time I've ever been, the first was when this place was fairly new. They have a fairly simple menu, tacos for around $2 each, a couple soups, tortas, quesadillas, fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, and things they can add to chips. Food was good, I had a cuban torta, couldn't taste the guac that was suppose to be in it. I also had a bite of a taco el pastor which to me tasted like meat and onions, no specific type of meat though it is supposed to be pork... not bad but remind me to skip it here. Chips were alright, I liked them even though they were kinda greasy. The salsa also has a bit more kick than either of the hot sauces so I added the salsa more. So food, good, check. Service... both times I've been here it was a bit awkward, a little bit slow not that I mind. The first was when they opened so I expected there to be some kinks but... this time very lacking, though it may be due to coming in at 3 when the whole place was empty... guess I'll sit at the bar next time. Oh there was also a trio of tacos and a small queso ordered at my table, the tacos LOOKED very good as they also did first visit(I didn't try any though, and apparently they weren't very filling, though the person in question who ordered this could probably down a large pizza and still beg for more so his opinion on fillingness is nixed) queso was decent, I could see chunks of onion in it which I'm not too sure I like, I feel the queso was a bit over priced, drinks are also direly overpriced looking to me. Entrees are cheap, apps, soups, and drinks not so much. Anyway good cheap real mexican food, it is faux high class so don't worry it's family friendly, and again $2 tacos

Guacamole and Pico as fresh as it gets. Unique four tortilla chips. Home made chipotle and verde sauces. Tacos for under $2. Delish frozen 'ritas too. Not many places a family of 3 can go and fill up and feel good for less than $30. Unbelievably inexpensive. Took out little girl in to celebrate her birthday with the family. A 15 person student group broke into an awesome happy birthday song for her at a table next to us. The servers took care of our large group with no problems. Can go just for the chips and dips.

I seriously feel sorry for the local people who think this is good Mexican food. Recently moved from Texas to the area, we were told this was the best Mexican food. The service was poor. The place was dirty - flies all around. We ordered the fajitas and they looked more like stir-fry. The meat wasn't fajita meat and the cheese was melted on top. No sides were offered. I'm going to guess that people go for nachos and margaritas - not real Mexican food. I don't get the appeal.

I love Las Delicias, and I was thrilled to learn this location was opening close to my house. Unfortunately my experiences haven't been as good as at the Park Ave. location. On my last visit I walked in and noticed the restaurant smelled exactly like a school cafeteria. Not exactly a positive association. Then I was seated right next to the kitchen, even though there were other open tables nearby and only one server on the floor. Whoever wiped down the table prior to our arrival hadn't been very thorough, either. Whatever. This ain't fine dining, I'm here for the guac. Which, as always, was awesome. But I couldn't say the same for my torta. I've ordered the pork leg torta dozens of times at the Park Ave. location and it's been consistently wonderful. But this one was just not what I'm used to. The meat was cold and there wasn't enough of it to even cover the whole bun. Next time I'm craving Las Delicias I guess I'll just go out of my way to the Park Ave. location.

Best in town. Everything is fresh and tastes it. Salsa and chips homemade are delicious. Have had a large selection of the menu and found all choices to be top notch. Service is attentive although most of the staff have limited English skills.

Holy Guacamole, I love this place! I've been a fan of Las Delicias ever since they opened the location on Park at Getwell a few years ago. It's a little closer to my house than this one on Quince, but honestly - I like this new location better. The atmoshere is a bit nicer and it's definitely not as noisy. The acoustics are so bad at the Park location that you can't carry on a coversation when they get really busy, which is all the time. Of course mostly I'm so busy munching on those awesome made-in-house chips and guacamole that I don't care. But it is quieter at Quince and they have an awesome patio when the weather is nice enough to sit outside. My favorite items on the menu? Hummm.... Well for sure the enchiladas with mole (aye aye aye!), any of the awesome tortas and well, yes....their incredibly fresh and chunky guacamole! It's simiply the best in town. Keep up the good work, Las Delicias - I love you!

The chips, salsa and guac are great! The tortilla soup is similar to all the others around town so nothing really special. Unfortunately, the service is not spectacular during lunch. A little slow and not very friendly in my experience. However, I do plan to come back after work to sip a margarita on the patio in the near future.

In my Opinion best Mexican restaurant in Memphis. Everything is made fresh here, that is also why the menu is smaller. I have not had a bad dish off the menu yet. They are reasonably priced also. The interior of the restaurant is nice clean and elegant but not too formal. They have sections for groups and a nice patio area. Make sure to try their Guacamole, and their margaritas.

I love the food, but the past three times I have had awful service. I am actually at Las D right now and have been here for over an hour. It is not that the waiters are not bad, but they are covering too many tables. C'mon Las D, get better coverage! No matter how good the food is, if the service is like this one more time, I am done.

The margaritas are good. But am I the only one who notices all the flies? Seriously. I've been here three times and only because I'm outvoted by people who think a place with good drinks is automatically top-knotch; let's all stay for four hours!! The servers have always been attentive so I don't think there's an issue there especially when we had a party of 11 one night. The food is just okay. And it bothers me eating the salsa and seeing little gnats hovering the table non-stop! I know what rotten tomatoes look like, and I can only hope they aren't in my damn salsa. I will admit the tortilla chips, with or without questionable salsa, are pretty tasty. That's really all I have to say, folks. If you like mediocre mexican dining with a side of flies, be my guest. Drink enough of their yummy margaritas and you won't even notice the cons!

Enjoyed going here with my friends. This location is somewhat fancy, and not your everyday Mexican restaurant. The salsa was spicy and delicious; I ate far too many of those homemade, deliciously thick chips! My steak fajitas were perfect. The guacamole had ample cilantro and lime -- yum. Overall, I felt the menu was rather limited, but the quality of what we got was excellent. I would definitely go here again.

This was my first time here and I must say I enjoyed the food. I had the All in One fajitas that were off the chain. What I really loved was their avocado dip. I could have ate it alone all night. The only thing that was lacking a little bit compared to the other Mexican restuarants around town was the Margarita drinks flavor selection and mix drinks, other wise I loved the food.

There isn't much in this world that makes me happier than going to Las Delicias for a Margarita, Guacamole and Pastor tacos. I love Las Delicias and have tried almost everything on the menu, minus the tortas. I love the tacos, enchiladas and burritos, but have a special love for their guacamole. I don't even like guac at most restaurants, but I crave it at Las Delicias. CRAVE. Pair that with cheese dip and a few tacos, you have a cheap and delicious meal.

  • Nolan W.

Good Mexican eatery with decent service. You might have a hard time getting a table, and a server as well. But it's worth the wait. I got chicken nachos, what a great meal. The chips are unlike any other Mexican restaurant you will go to. The cheese dip is great, and both of those together make a good meal.

Come for the chips, stay for the atmosphere. It's an odd thing to take center stage at a Mexican place, but the chips are the legitimate star here. They're a bit softer than most tortilla chips, yet still have a nice satisfying crunch to them. The guacamole was more like an avocado ceviche. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's not exactly the right flavor and definitely not the right texture. You do get a decent amount that's probably your money's worth. Not so impressed with the queso dip. I shared a bunch of pastor tacos and they were...okay. There was some amount of flavor marinated into them, but they were curiously dry and lacked spitz. Perhaps a dollop of guac or pico de gallo or even just a dousing of cilantro would've helped. The Enchiladas Verdes were equally nondescript. Good, but also a bit pricey for what you got. And the sides were, curiously, beans and...more beans. Again, okay, but nothing too special. The service was efficient and courteous and it looked like they had a band playing on some nights. Good atmosphere inside. Will likely be back at some point.

The Pros: I am from Texas originally so I am bit of a Mexican food snob. Okay, I'm a huge Mexican food snob. BUT, I loved this place. I had a steak burrito and more chips (with their fantastic salsa) than I care to mention. My wife had the Gringa and Pastor tacos, which she also loved. We could not believe how cheap this place was! The Cons: If you're meeting people here, make sure you all have your cell phones handy. There are about six or seven dining areas (that I remember) that also have a few corners you'd have to make sure to look behind were you looking for your party. The parking lot was also super crowded because of the other restaurants in the same area.

This location is significantly better than the one on Park. The food is amazing, cheap, fast, and authentic. I don't get anything but their tortilla soup cause it's to die for. their margaritas are overpriced but delicious and strong. Cameron is always my waiter, he's the best and very polite. Try the guac it's incredible. I crave this place when I'm not in Memphis.

My mom and I enjoyed lunch here this past weekend. They had authentic cuisine and this is the closet I have tasted. I am not a drinker but the tables around had ordered them and they looked very appealing. We did start of with fresh guacamole. I liked that you could tell it wasn't just scooped out of a container. There were still large pieces of avocado in it My mom ordered the trio enchiladas- one beef, chicken, and cheese topped in queso. . She said that they were the best enchiladas she has ever had. I had the steak and chicken fajitas which were excellent! If I am in Memphis and wanting good Mexican and not just texmex this will be my restaurant of choice.

I probably eat Mexican once a week... I have been to Las Delicias on Park, but never this one. We went with a group of 8 and were crammed around one table on the patio. The patio is great! It's big and the tables are a good distance apart. We started by ordering 2 pitchers of margaritas, cheese dip, and guacamole. The guacamole is by far the freshest, most amazing guac I have ever had. Its a chunkier version, so you get to see how fresh the avocado really is. I ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla and most everyone else ordered the all in one fajitas. My quesadilla was great, or maybe just the margaritas were strong? Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed everything about Las Delicias. For the boys, the servings were awfully small and most of them were still hungry, which is never a good thing. I picked up half a pitcher, the guacamole, an all in one, and my quesadilla under $30... You can't beat that!

I was so excited by the reviews when I went to try them and I was ever so slightly disapointed. The chips, salsa and guac were amazing. The reviews on the guac are not lies, it's unbelievably good. The food was good.. but not great, mind blowing Mexican like I'd hoped. If I could merge them with Mexican Deli Chivas, I'd be in heaven.

I had heard good things about Las Delicias, but since it is out of our neighborhood we just now tried it. The space looked to be in renovation mode, but it was otherwise unremarkable. I ordered based on word of mouth recommendations. I got the guacamole and the spouse got a quesadilla pastor. The pitcher of beer was too big for us to finish and we were both full before our food arrived (those darn chips!). All said, it was good, but I don't think I would make a special trip there again.

After reading many of the reviews for Las Delicias the wife and I were excited to give it a try. Entering the restaurant it didn't have the feel of a Mexican restaurant at all, more of a run down up-scale place. The patio looks awesome but the temp was pushing 100 outside and I don't like to sweat while I eat so we chose to eat inside. The menu was limited but had most of the Mexican fare we like. We decided to order several different tacos and a couple tamales as well as margaritas for the both of us. We both liked the salsa, very fresh. The chips were thick and hardy and we liked them as well. It wasn't long until the food arrived and it was all good. Not the best tacos in town but they were good. No where near the quantity or quality of Taqueria La Guadalupana's tacos out on Summer Ave. The tamales were fantastic however, nice heat and full of flavor. The margaritas were small for the price but were very tasty. Service was great. I'm sure we'll give it another try and when we do I'll be sure to update my review.

Good Mexican eatery with decent service. You might have a hard time getting a table, and a server as well. But it's worth the wait. I got chicken nachos, what a great meal. The chips are unlike any other Mexican restaurant you will go to. The cheese dip is great, and both of those together make a good meal.

Next time I'm craving Las Delicias I guess I'll just go out of my way to the Park Ave. location.

i went when it was brand new, so it was lacking in atmosphere and the service was a little weak. still, great prices for quality food. a return visit showed not much had changed. definitely not like hokey tex-mex places. and the pastor tacos were muy delicioso!!

the food is super cheap. the location is close to home. the service is okay. a little on the slow side. the stars: the chips, the guacamole (it's chunky). the misses: the tamales are on the dry side. the menu allows you to try a variety of different things. i had heard everyone else talk about how awesome the other locations were. i may have gone on an off night but i have to say that it was okay but it was not as thrilling as i had hoped.

The patio was nice, but the service was slow. The food was not as good as the location on Park Ave. It was less crowded, though.

Gringa tacos are the best. Guacamole is wonderful. Best Mexican in town by far.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
