Went with two friends and I tried the Shrimp Ravigote. It was near perfect, but less mayonnaise would be fine. Friends had other dishes and were pleased as well. Sat on the porch which is a cute way of separating one from the mall traffic. Service was excellent.

This is one of my favorite places in town. I enjoy the entire shopping center - it's all enclosed but made to look like you are walking down a quaint Main Street in a small town, how adorable! I enjoy sitting on the porch area. Lunch is mostly salads, quiches and light sandwiches. It may not sound like substantial food but I've always left quite full. Unless there is a compelling special I get the bouquet of salad with pimento cheese, chicken salad and a house salad. All of the dressings are house made and delicious. Before the meal they will bring a basket on mini rolls and muffins - so yummy. Lunch for two will run around $30. Service is always good

This morning, I went to Just for Lunch, an East Memphis cafe with a distinct following of Ladies Who Lunch. I was seated on the porch, near a table of Red Hat Society dames. Just for Lunch is inside the small shopping center just east of the main library. The "porch" looks just like a porch or patio at a freestanding restaurant, save for the fact that it's indoors. Just for Lunch's menu seems to cater to Ladies Who Lunch. In addition to the usual sandwiches, quiches and soups, you can order old-school dishes like aspic and shrimp salad. Just for Lunch is Project Green Fork certified, which means that the restaurant is environmentally sustainable. I ordered the Icy Cucumber Soup and chicken salad. The cucumber soup was chilled (not, thankfully, actually icy). It may become one of my summer favorites - it was tangy and creamy, but completely refreshing. The chicken salad pleased my purist sensibilities (when it comes to chicken salad, nuts and fruit aren't really necessary). It could have done with a little more seasoning, but I appreciated its simplicity. If you're going to try it, I recommend going all out - grab some of your friends, get a little dressed up, and take your time eating. Sit on the fake porch, order iced tea and spend some time catching up, gossiping and people watching. Act like Ladies Who Lunch instead of ladies who need to eat lunch.

My Nana (aka my sweet, sweet grandmother) would be in love. This place, like Kerry C said, is perfect for the Ladies Who Lunch...or any very southern gal. The shopping center reminds me of those indoor outdoor stores like you see in Vegas (but southern) aka the storefronts look like houses even though you are inside. The restaurant is cute and looks like a house. It is even has a porch which I enjoyed dining on. My first impression was that it was a little overpriced. $14 for a Cobb Sandwich and $14.95 for a salmon sandwich. Then again, I guess those prices are fair. I don't know why I thought it was overpriced...I just did. Maybe it is because it is shabby chic, emphasis on shabby. It could definitely go for a facelift. But maybe that is part of its charm. I looked around to see multiple groups of grandmothers enjoying lunch there so I suppose that is what they are going for. My salad was just ok. Nothing to write home about. Would I come here again? Meh. Only if my Nana was in town. Don't get me wrong, it is lovely in a southern grandmother way....I cannot emphasize that enough. I've never experienced anything like it in a restaurant. Bottom line, just not my style.

Just For Lunch would be liked by any southern belle for lunch and maybe loved by your grandmother! It's placed inside of one of the many Poplar shopping plazas so if you wnated to shop alittle bit too you could. I ordered the Fish of the Day Sandwich which was Salmon with a side salad. Now my sandwich was delish but that salad was well....just lettuce! It had two sliced red peppers and I tried it with the Asiago Peppercorn Ranch dressing and that was tasty. It tasted homemade. The decor of the place was cute. It definitely looked like it could be a part of Paula Deen's collection. Hey maybe she could give the place a renovation or something!! lol...but anywho it was a cute little spot and there were mostly elderly women ther having lunch. Reminded me of how I feel when i go to Piccadilly. Would I ever go back, maybe with my grandma and I would order soup as a side next time.

Not too long ago, my husband Tom and I decided to try out a cute little spot called Just for Lunch at the Chickasaw Plaza near midtown Memphis. A popular ladies spot, Just for Lunch opened in the space that used to be occupied by Elfo's. Tom decided on the fried oyster sandwich with a side of potato chowder (the soup of the day), and I had a chicken salad sandwich with the potato chowder. The chowder was a great side item choice. It was savory with bit of a kick, although, Tom didn't think it was thick enough to be considered a true "chowder." It had huge chunks of potato, corn, and carrots and was very satisfying. The potatoes were cooked without being mushy, and (in my opinion) the soup had nice texture. My chicken salad sandwich was a tasty, standard version. It wasn't amazing, but it was solid. Tom's oyster sandwich was incredibly delicious. It was served on a potato roll with lettuce, tomato, and a zesty remoulade. The oysters wer big, juicy, and dusted in cornmeal. Tom said it was the best fried oyster sandwich he had ever tasted. For dessert, we had fudge pie with ice cream. The pie was very dense and rich, but it was also extremely salty. It was almost as of the chef had confused salt with sugar when making it. With the ice cream, it was almost palatable, but by itself, it was pretty bad. The waitress said the she would let the chef know that the pie was salty, but there was no apology or form of restitution offered. Final Impressions: This is a solid lunch time spot with decent food and a quaint atmosphere. There were some lapses in service. At one point in time, I went about fifteen minutes with an empty water glass, but for the most part, it was pleasant experience. Before dessert I would have considered this a solid 3 star meal, but I had to knock one off for the fudge pie and how the situation was handled.

Had Sunday brunch here and what I ordered was awesome! And our server was very attentive. I am reserving five stars since I've only been once. But I had the green eggs and ham, which was eggs benedict with pesto, and oh my god it was so good. What a great flavor combination.
