I'm definitely a fan. Affordable. Clean. Delicious. Good customer service. And I didn't feel sick after eating sushi (which coincidently happens to me and others every time we go to Osaka). I can't wait to go back here and try something else. My boyfriend ordered the crab puffs and iChicken, I think. I picked off of both and they were damn good. I ordered a Harry Potter roll for myself (avocado, crab, and topped with salmon). Also good and fresh. I arrived later than my friends and the server got me a drink and menu immediately. Very on top of our table of 5 that all ordered at different times, courteous, and got the split checks right the first time.

This place has awesome sushi and customer service. I usually order nigiri and sashimi when I come here. Nigiri comes with 2 pieces an order, and sashimi has 6 pieces of fish an order. I always order the salmon and yellowtail sashimi here. They are so fresh and delicious; I would recommend it if you are a raw fish eater. Aside from the sushi, they have awesome stir fry noodles at a very reasonable price. There are of course a lot of other choices for you to choose from, so don't shy away if you are not a fan of sushi. They also have a great selection of delicious rolls too! This place is located right next to the malco theater and is in the same complex area as cordova international farmers market.

Great ownership, the serving staff never allows my drinks to be empty before refilling my glass, and the sushi chefs are always there to come up with something new & delicious. A very intimate and mellow ambience to go with a group of friends and be able to carry on conversations within the group and not be disturbed or disturb anyone else in the establishment. Also the turn around time from the minute you place your order till the time it arrives at your table makes you ask yourself if you are at a fast food dive. As far as the cost per person to eat at iSushi is concerned, they are very competitive with 4 or 5 other sushi establishments in the Cordova area. They actually are probably in the middle with Osaka & Friday Tuna being the higher in the area and Red Fish pricing being almost identical. If you want fresh fish, which we all do, you have to pay for it. These establishments do not throw a line in the Mississippi River and catch your fish lol - They have it flown in 2 or 3 times per week from the Gulf and the West Coast. However, whatever the cost of your meal at iSushi you will leave a happy customer that will no doubt return again & again.

This is one of my favorite sushi places in Memphis, with the other being Red Koi. So, I thought it funny when I realized that I have never left a review before. This visit was a Saturday about 4 PM and we ordered gyoza and spring rolls as appetizers. We both ordered the sushi combo specials. Me, the 40 Kel & Rainbow rolls and my wife, the tempura shrimp & spicy crawfish rolls. The gyoza and spring rolls tasted fresh-made and were good - the red egg roll sauce and dumpling sauces for the spring rolls and gyoza were really good accompaniments! Our rolls were all very fresh and tasty. For an added bonus, the service was great! As well, the modern music and decor provides a nice, upbeat ambiance. I'm never disappointed with my choice to eat here! You won't be either!

This is a great place for Sushi, although the rolls I would not call traditional. What made it fun is the rolls are named after movies, plus they use some sauces that are different from your typical Sushi Bar. As an example, I ordered a Forest Gump, which had a spicy eel sauce combined with a strawberry sauce. It was very good. My daughter ordered the Harry Potter which was much more traditional, similar if not the same as the Tokyo at Osaka. We ordered a couple more, but don't want to write a book, lol So if you are looking for something different then this is the place.

Cutting straight to the point, this is a good restaurant. The service is great, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the food is typically delicious. Pricing is a bit higher than average, so if you want to come here, plan to spend $10-$20 per head. It's a good place to visit occasionally. To go more in depth, I have had no issue with the servers. They've always been kind, punctual, and helpful, though the times I have gone the place was only half full. The decorations of the restaurant are very appealing and everything goes well together. The seating is comfortable enough. The food is either amazing or unimpressive. It depends largely on what you order from the menu. Their sushi is fantastic, as well as their rolls. The fried rice platters are also large in size and taste. I've been able to get two meals out of one order! If you order correctly, you'll definitely get your values worth and then some. If you're trying to look for a great, sit-down Asian restaurant, this place will not disappoint you. On a side note, their chicken wings are fantastic. Though it is an Asian restaurant, they add their own flair to the dish and it really works out!

This place had pretty good food. The lower ranking comes from the lousy decor and poor job that the hostess did. I guess I was rubbed wrong from the beginning. The fish didn't taste as fresh as it could have. I probably will not be returning.

Transformer roll is the best sushi I've ever had! My only critique is make sure you greet everyone when they walk in. No one greeted me when I walked in but the next person was greeted by 2 or 3 people. There were 4 guys behind the bar watching the game.

Fantastic food for an affordable price! My friends and I decided to try this place out considering it was right next to the movie theater. We were waiting on the movie to show but got bored and wanted some food. Then we saw isushi and we have been wanting to try this place for ages. At first, I was afraid it might be a shady sushi joint...but i was not disappointed! They had an awesome sushi menu and their fish was fresh! Staff was friendly and it was a very casual sushi joint. Totally recommend this place!

Went there right after lunch and it was empty. Which is kind of scary. But I ordered. And got to watch them make my food. Everyone was really polite and it was really clean. I got two different rolls: top gun and hurricane. They were amazing. I like the movie names for the sushi. I'll definitely be going back to try out more.

ISushi is one of my favorite sushi bars in Memphis, with the other being Red Koi. The staff and sushi cooks are all awesome. This is my second visit. They are very friendly and are all very welcoming and talkative. The restaurant is very clean and is very comfortable and quaint. Its family friendly. Its awesome for a date night. Hurricane Roll is my favorite, along with the special fried rice.

I enjoyed iSushi and got a kick out of the movie themed rolls. They could do a better job at connecting the name of the rolls with what they are, but fun nonetheless. Sushi was good and prices were good. Great location next to the theater.

This place has great sushi and good saki. I love the atmosphere also. Great for a small locally owned place. The moment you walk in you are greeted by a nice water feature and pleasant lighting (dark, but so dark that you can't see anything). Great place to wait if you are going to make a movie at Cordova Cinema.

Pretty good sushi for the prices. I got a large sushi and sashimi combination...good stuff. Not the cleanest looking places out there, but sushi was to me typical. Not overly good but not overly bad.

This place is where it's at. Sushi, sashimi you name it. Since it's next to the Cordova Malco theater most of the rolls are named after movie names and or characters. Love love love this place. From the owner to the wait stuff everyone is super friendly and loves to have fun.

Fairly decent rolls. they have a special where you can get 2 special or 2 regular rolls for a pretty good price. atmosphere...kind of reminded me more of a sports bar than a sushi place

Well this is my first review and I can tell you this is one of the best Asian restaurants I have been to in the Memphis area. Coming from Seattle, it has been very hard to find authentic or even decent tasting Asian food (already tired of Hibachi). However, their sushi was excellent and I really enjoyed their Pineapple fried rice, a take on the Hawaiian spam pineapple fried rice. Overall the atmosphere was good, the food was good, and the employees were super friendly.

Best sushi in town. Try the Angels and demons roll. It is literally the best roll I have ever had.

Regarding the name, "what's in a name?" I find the attack on the name to be shallow and hate-filled, at best (jealousy is not pretty on you). The entire experience was excellent and would still have been so even if named "Bubba's." PRO TIP: pick your battles and enjoy life more. Very friendly. The manager and wait staff talk to you and ask what types of sushi you prefer in order to get an idea as to what rolls to recommend. Service is fast, friendly, and very attentive. The rolls are made from high quality, fresh ingredients. I would set these beside the best offerings of any of the well-known sushi spots in town. I tried the Thunder, Castaway, Florida, and Hurricane. The two former were the best, especially the Thunder. Highly recommended, but ask for extra fish egg. I did not have it, but saw the Jimmi Boi being prepared as we left. It looked amazing and will be at the top of my order next time. We also had a "small" order of shrimp fried rice. I emphasize "small" because it would rival a "large" in most other places I've been, thus, diminishing any suggestions that iSushi serving sizes are wanting (haters gonna hate). In summary, great food, service, and pricing. I will be back.

In the five years that I've lived in the Cordova area, the Asian restaurant in the shopping center with the Malco Cordova movie theater has had several identities. It started as Wasabi, then it became Mikado. Now, it's iSushi, and silly name aside, this might be my favorite so far. Like its predecessors, iSushi is, well, a sushi restaurant with other Japanese fare. Unlike the others, it seems like there was thought and effort put into developing the flavor profiles of the dishes. The sushi is fresh, and the choices are numerous. Specialties like the soft shell crab roll and the mango dragon roll feature ingredients that don't grace most Japanese restaurants' menus. But, their traditional options like the California roll and the fried salmon roll are just as good. But my favorite item might just be the simplest. The stirfry noodles (I like mine with chicken) are a more delicious version of lo mein. And while I know it's not traditional Japanese fare, it sure is tasty. The sauce is very savory, there are plenty of crisp veggies, and I can get three meals out of one $6.00 order. Eating at iSushi can be cheaper (and better) than any fast food restaurant. With fresh, tasty food and extremely reasonable prices, I hope that iSushi will be here to stay.

I've got to say. They definitely earned these five stars. The sashimi and food there are always so fresh and yummy!! Most friendliest staff and amazing food. Can't be beaten! Best sushi place in Memphis hands-down! And I'm a picky food critic. So goodjob isushi!

Went to iSushi - and low and behold, it was the same sushi menu as Red Fish. I mean they literally are the same menu except I think some items were switched around slightly. I ordered the same thing I ordered at Red Fish two days before going here, and it was prepared / cooked the exact same way and everything.

I would really love to comment on the food at iSushi, but, unfortunately, I can't. You see, I never got served. My teenage sons and I arrived at the restaurant tonight at 20:45 for a late dinner and were seated after a slight delay ... which should have been a red flag. A server came over, gave us menus, and took our drinks orders: two waters and a soda. She then left us to peruse the menus. She seemed very friendly, so any concerns I might have had were laid to rest. We took our time over the menus ... but then, we were given plenty of time. The server NEVER returned. After a while, I checked the time: it was now 21:00. (Reminder: we STILL didn't have our drinks.) I tried, unsuccessfully, to get the attention of another server and even of the barman ... but after another 10 minutes of waiting, we gave up, got up, and left. Their loss. While we ordered only water to drink, we planned to order nearly $60 worth of food. Not bad for a three-top that they could have turned in 45 minutes, if they'd only come back with our drinks and taken our order.

Me and my wife first time eating at iSushi. We both really enjoyed it. Very friendly service. They're fair price for sushi. We got Red Bird roll, X-Man roll, and the Rainbow roll. We recommend them all. Also their chicken fried rice is great. The reason they get 4-star and not 5-star is because their house salad ginger dressing is not the best. It's prob one of the worst in my opinion. Nonetheless great place for a date night. I will return in the future.

I've been to Isushi a number of times. Now, what keeps me coming is a combination of things. First, the owner or manager, he is hilarious, very sharp, knows the menu backwards and forward. Second, the service is usually pretty good. But then I've had the good fortune to come when there's never a crowd. Finally, the food. I've ordered a number of rolls. Bad boys, hot dragon, mama roll, 40 kel, dragon, explorer... and the list goes on... I usually come with a friend and we sit at the bar, allow the owner to entertain us while we dine.

I used to go here when it was Wasabi. I stopped going when Makado bought out Wasabi and the quality went downhill. Since it has changed to Isushi, it has been amazing. This is easily the best sushi in Memphis. My wife and I have tried several of the rolls with our favorites being Xmen, Red fish, Alaskan, and Harry Potter. The atmosphere is nice and small. I love this place.

iSushi... Really? Well, iHate the name. Flat out hate the name. I find the "i" prefix naming convention comically derivative; as if by using the prefix you somehow build positive acclaim through presumed correlation to other well-known "i" products, even if totally unrelated. Its application has been overused since some agriculture company based in Cupertino released its first "i" product. As a side effect of "prefix-dilution", I have developed a bias to "i" prefixed products based on the implied disrespect to discerning consumers suggested through weak subversive associations to the undertow of a passe cultural phenomenon. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and certainly in the nomenclature there is unquestionable imitation. The question remains, does iSushi merely imitate sushi or is it the real deal? I always say I dislike reviewing sushi due to the arrogance it suggests, yet here I am again reviewing yet another sushi restaurant. I suppose I must be a hypocrite. In any case, I came to this restaurant with a friend to sample its menu. I will preface this review by stating that I do not try rolls at sushi bars. I do not classify rolls as sushi, but rather culinary amalgamations adjusted to carefully suit the specific cultural palette of the native tongue. You wouldn't call a soybean patty slapped between two rice cakes a burger; so why would you call cooked salmon with cream cheese, battered and fried, and covered in a cream sauce sushi? Maybe I am an elitist, or perhaps I do not like ill-defined classifications; regardless I don't eat rolls so I cannot attest to their quality. I ordered chirashizushi my last visit, so I could examine the quality of the fish they receive and of the cuts they perform. The sashimi was acceptable. It was a little stringy in certain cuts of tuna, and some of the cuts tasted a bit old but overall it was better than other places in Memphis. I also ordered the pineapple fried rice which was extraordinary and enormous! I believe the former occupant of the location where iSushi now sits was a restaurant called Mikado. The food has improved from that of the previous tenants, and I would recommend critics of Mikado to give iSushi a chance to see if they agree that the food has improved. Food: 3.5/5 I like the decor and seating of iSushi. It is relaxed without appearing too modest. I think the amount of Asian themed decor is subduing without appearing tacky, and the interesting tree structure/sculpture in the middle of the restaurant adds further depth, emphasizing that you have entered a space separate from the doors where you came. It is a smaller venue, and it derives some benefits and disadvantages from being close to the cinema. I believe the lighting and high seat backs enable the venue to seem much more private allowing for more intimate conversations. As such, I would recommend this place for second dates. Atmosphere: 4/5 Value is very good for the price relative to its direct competitors. I left with a take home bag and a belly full of very good food. You really can't ask for more than that. Value: 4/5 The wait staff was quite friendly and service was prompt and courteous. The staff seemed genuinely nice to every customer who entered through the doors regardless of their state of courtesy. While I was there, a deeply inebriated couple waddled into the restaurant and were treated with absolute respect despite being loudmouthed and loathsome. This is a sign of an excellent staff. Service: 5/5 iSushi, despite having a terrible name, is a fine establishment and an excellent choice for an evening out. I will return again, and I firmly believe I will be treated to the exact same quality and service that I received on my first visit.
