*Sigh* I realllllly wanted to like this place. I adore the concept (self-serve wine...whhhhaaaat), I am obsessed with Cooper-Young, and the staff is friendly - makings of a complete win. But the loading of the card/intro is just absolutely ridiculous. It takes a good 10 minutes for them to explain the set-up and if you walk-in behind a group that is just getting started...you're looking at quite a wait before you get your glass of wine. "Ain't nobody got time for that!" I like to walk-in to a place and get my alcohol ASAP. Plus, how much do you load on the card? If you load too much you have to come back and use it...and you'll probably never hit it just right. And if you don't load enough, you have to go back to the front counter. It is just exasperating. And then the cheese plate...don't even get me started on the cheese plate. There are 4 cheese on the plate, 2 of which have nuts in them...like those disgusting cheese nut balls. 1. If they have nuts IN the cheese, I think they should warn their patrons on the menu. 2. It is gross cheese. 3. I live for cheese plates so I was pretty disappointed. It really is a great idea but it is lacking...mostly with the loading of the card. But I was also didn't enjoy their wine selection that much either. I'm giving it 3 stars because I'm hoping they'll fix a few things. It has the potential to be a baller place. Here's hoping!

I was really excited to try this place out. Self serve wine?! Great concept. It is unfortunate, however, that they only had one server (the bartender) on a Saturday night. Poor guy was slammed. That plus the fact that it was sweltering in there made the experience a bit less than pleasant. The food, however, was great. The cheese plate was beautiful and the lobster was delicious. Great presentation, as well. The wine was decent. Not as many varieties as I would expect from a wine bar; but good nonetheless. Adding a few more servers and reducing the temp a bit on the AC would significantly improve the atmosphere and overall experience.

This place is so good, I felt like I was back in Napa! Everything about this place is super cool, to include the wine, food, and the friendly service. The staff is highly intelligent and well informed about their wines. I highly recommend this place for a date night or a place just to hang out and chill! If you're from California and you miss wine country, this is the place to come in Memphis! I have been to Napa several times and know high quality when I see it!!!

I love this place! I met up with a friend on a Tuesday and there were about 5 tables of people and no wait to fill my card. Thanks to the reviews here I let the hostess know I knew what to do and handed her $20, they also have an option to hold your credit card and ring you out at the end for those wanting the exact amount. There are four wine dispensing machines with eight wines each - 2 whites and 2 reds although one of the whites has several rosés. I was able to try four different 2oz pours and spent $15.50 on wine. They do have beer and cocktails available and the cocktails sounded amazing. Tuesdays are taste kitchen days so with a minimum spend of $15 you get a free sample of what the kitchen is trying out - which was half of a chicken panini, very good. We got the picnic basket and it was great! I wish my phone hasn't died so I could take a picture as it was beautifully displayed. A nice variety of cheeses, meats and accompaniments. They have a mixture of high and low tables as well as a fireplace seating area, a small bar and a couch seating area. Very nice ambience! The owner came to talk to us and she was very nice, as is the staff. She was great to tell us about some of her favorite wines. The wines change out often so going back will always be a new experience. If you are eating be prepared to spend at least $25 per person for food and wine but you could easily spend $40 or more per person so this does have the potential to be a pricey night out. I'm super excited to return with my bf and some friends but I don't see this as becoming a super regular place but rather a nice place to meet up with friends or a fun date night.

It's a really chic new lounge where you can sit by the fire and drink from a nice selection of tasty wines you serve yourself and eat delicious American/Southern style tapas. I thought the meatballs and pretzel buns were awesome but it all was really good! The staff were very friendly and we met the owner who was very nice!! Literally the only negative thing was at the end of the evening when my friend was taking a little longer to finish her second glass of wine, one of the staff told us to leave in a very awkward/rude way: he showed us his phone with the time (and we didn't know they closed so early and there were plenty of other customers still there), and then when we caught on why he was showing us his phone, he was like "yeah... I mean we don't have a bed in the back!" ...which I thought was a little humorous but also quite rude. Otherwise great though! Lol

My friend said, "It's kind of like raiding your parents' living room when they're out of town," which I thought was a fairly apt description. The decor is kind of ambivalently "cozy" - soft lighting, a few plush chairs with serviceable end tables and many small tables with tablecloths. The self-serve concept is cool, although I can quickly see self-serve wine and tapas contributing to make an expensive night out (like yelper Kyle, whose reviews I see from time to time, I always find that I need to eat 1,000,000 plates of tapas to feel like I have had a meal). I like the idea that you could go build your own flight of 2-oz tasters before committing to a full glass. I also appreciated that my red was an appropriate 60ish degrees. The card system was just a little bit cumbersome - I had to decide when I walked in how much I wanted to load onto my card without knowing how much the individual pours would be, and then I was also a little bit confused about how to tip on the card that I paid for up-front because I didn't know if I'd be eating or not, and the wine is self-serve. I asked, and the guy working the front counter said that the waiters and bartenders do work on tips, so next time I'd probably come prepared with cash to leave on the table/bar instead of tipping on my credit card receipt. Then my card didn't work properly, so we were standing looking at the machine for a long time looking while they fixed it. All of these are kinks that I'm sure will become second nature after a few visits. The only thing that was just a little off-putting about this place was that the proprietor and another staff member both offered us their descriptions and recommendations of several wines while we waited at the machine during the aforementioned card snafu. I am all about wine education, but I'm also a person who learns by doing, and I much prefer to try wine for myself than to hear someone describe it. I feel differently about it when I set out for a day of wine-tasting in Northern California - I love when winemakers talk to me about the wine that they've made that I'm tasting, but after work when I'm out for a glass of wine with a friend I'd prefer a more laissez-faire attitude at the self-serve machine which is, after all, self-serve. But, I appreciated the friendliness of all of the customer service people and I imagine that when this place is less of a "new kid on the block" and people walking in off the street (like me!) know the drill, that vibe will mellow and it'll just be a friendly, relaxing place to try a variety of wines. Hooray!
(4)Molly P.
There are more than 20 wines at all different prices points to try. you can get a 2, 4 or 6 ounce pour. The picnic basket is a fabulous accompaniment for a group. you can reserve for a group, or just drop in when the mood strikes you. A clean glass is available for each new wine, and tone staff is incredibly attentive. The rest of the food menu partners well with the wines. if you want to bring non-oenophiles with you, don't worry, as there is a full bar available for non-wine drinkers.

Me and fiance went here ove the weekend and we love the concept and the food was delicious
(5)Sal C.
Our favorite place for a classy atmosphere conducive to an evening of quiet conversation over an excellent selection of wine metered for wine tasting. New dessert hostess-owner Robin suggested was fried pound cake with pecan and whipped cream. It was delicious!

I went to Greencork a few weeks ago and I was certainly happy I went! This is a family-run business, where the daughter works the back of the house and the Mom/Son run the front, and they couldn't be a nicer group of people! Aside from the family, let's start with the experience... When you first walk in, you have to check in at the counter. The person at the front gave the full run-down on how the place was set up since I was a first timer. I read a few reviews on the amount of time it takes to check in. Yeah, it's not super quick, but I would say all-in-all it took about 5 min. One great thing to report is they now accept credit cards!!! I read in a few reviews that they were only doing debit at the time (which is pretty typical of the pay-per-pour wine bars), but you can now walk in, get a wine card and then just drink away without having to refill like a debit card. The ambiance was very casual and nice. They have a few lounge chairs if you feel like doing a cute date night, or you can sit at a regular table if you're looking to order food. Speaking of food, I didn't get a meal here, just dessert, and it was awesome. I had fried pound cake, OMG. So one of the best things about moving to the South was seeing what someone will think of to fry next. It's not good for my diet, but great for my taste buds. It could have used a little less whipped cream, but whatever, it was absolutely delicious. The wine was overall pretty good. I was hoping for some higher end wines, but I'm not sure that the Memphis market would support paying like $10 for a 2oz pour of Caymus or Joseph Phelps reserve Cabernet. The great thing about the wines is you can pay for a taste or a full glass, because everything is poured out of electronic dispensers. If the Son is there, he will walk around and help give you recommendations, too. I love wine, so I'll be back. But even if I didn't love wine, I will certainly be back to try some of the food and eat more of that pound cake.

If you like to taste wine, this place is for you. 2oz wine is a perfect amount to get to know couple wine in one dinner. For those that likes sweet wine, get a full glass of bug juice and you be happy all night long. They have good selection of white and red wine. Food is delicious. Cranberry salad dressing was super. Dessert was good, but not the best we had.

Greencork is a cute little wine bar in Cooper Young. I am pretty sure that is Memphis's only self service wine bar. It works like this. First you get a card, in which you choose how much money to put on it. I put $20 on mine. The wine dispensers are grouped by type of wine. You can choose if you want a small, medium, or large pour. Each wine and pour size has a different price. You put your card in and push the button that corresponds to what you want. Then the price is deducted from the card. Personally, I like to get the smallest pour, so that I can try multiple types of wine. It's very cozy. You can sit at traditional tables or nice comfy chairs or even a couch. They also have a bar and food. I have had one of their appetizers. It was a cheese plate, which was very typical. However, I saw someone order the picnic basket. I really want to try it. It has a large picnic basket filled with tons of goodies. This place is only open at night. I have been a few times. It is a fun experience. My only question/concern is about tipping. You have a waitress, who brings you water and menus. What if I only want to use my prepaid wine card and have wine? I'm not sure how to tip. Anyway, go there, if you haven't already!

Cute little wine bar! Our group went on a Tuesday night, which turned out to be Experiment night. The kitchen experiments with different recipes. I don't remember the exact name of the meal, but it was a tomato concoction! Since I'm "Mikey" of the group (I won't try anything), everyone waited as I took my first bite! Pure heaven! DELISH! WOW! And everyone was pleased. Not one person in our group shared or left any portion on their plates! Keep those experiments coming! Oh, and the wine was good, too! Great concept overall!

Where to start? For one, I came here on my first date with my fiancé. He later proposed to me here. The whole restaurant clapped, when I said, "Yes!" With that disclaimer on the table, let me count the ways in which I love this Memphis treasure. Oh, wait. I should explain the concept first: Greencork is Memphis' first self-serve wine bar. You stop at the front check-in area and get a wine card. Wine dispensers line the walls with description cards. You slide your card in the machine and press one of three different ounce sizes of your choice. The amount you pay for each glass depends upon the size of your drink. They have 32 different wines nightly. Yes! ATMOSPHERE: It's a casual and cozy place where you can have a romantic beef short rib dinner and wine by the fireplace or meet a group of gal pals to nosh on wine, cheese, grapes, olives and French bread over gossip. Kidding. I'd NEVER gossip about ANYTHING! The restaurant can serve as a picnic at a table. There's even a picnic basket item on the menu. I suggest, if you're going to Levitt Shell or a Botanic Garden concert, that you get the Premium Picnic Basket to-go. You can also sit at the bar and watch the Grizzlies win the playoffs (fingers crossed). They have what they call "Test Kitchen Tuesdays," when you sample FREE potential future menu items that could be put on the menu depending on how diners like the test dish. The pièce de résistance is ROBIN, A.K.A. "Your Fairy Wine Mother." She is actually the owner and literally makes you feel like you're eating and drinking at a friend's house. Her son is her trusty sidekick, who chose all the cheeses on the menu and will tell you what's most popular on the menu. If you visit Memphis, you're missing out, if you don't check out Greencork.

Greencork is located in the legendary Cooper-Young area of Memphis. We have been wanting to stop by for some time, and finally decided to take my Mom there for her birthday. She absolutely loved it! From the moment you walk through the door, the gentlemen kick into gear and explain how it works. You can start a tab, which is recommended, but be careful, the wine adds up quick! You receive a smart card and you put it into the machine of your choice (bold red, medium red, white, etc) then you select the wine of your choice and either 2, 4, or 6 oz. The prices are listed accordingly, and the least expensive I saw was for $3.50 for a 2 oz. That being said, the wine is delicious and it's fun to mix and match as you go. We also ordered the 'firm' cheese plate which was a great pairing, then she had the Butter Poached Lobster which she has now declared her favorite meal. It was very good and had a very rich, creamy sauce. Since it was her birthday, she received a slice of decadent chocolate cake, but the staff highly recommend the Fried Pound Cake, which she will probably try next visit. We were told the menu may change up a bit from time to time, so they recommend calling ahead if interested in anything in particular on the food menu. Greencork is run by a local family, owned by a Ms Robin, whom we met as we were leaving. Her son explained many of the wines to us while we browsed and her daughter is the chef. They were all very friendly and we should all strive to support local family-owned businesses. We highly recommend them. Greencork is great for couples, meetings, girl's nights out, etc.

I've been here several times and each time I come there is always a warm welcome and the hostess is happy to explain the concept of the self-serve wine bar. The atmosphere is really cozy and nice for small groups. There is a mixture of seating; tall tables, short tables and chairs by the fireplace and off in a corner. The seating is limited so if your party is larger than 2-3, I'd say make reservations. The owner/"Fairy Wine Mother" always makes her way around to greet guests at their tables and ask about their experience thus far. The waiters and the owner's son are very attentive, checking in and clearing empty wine glasses off of the table regularly. You can watch whatever popular sporting event on the tv over the bar, especially a Grizzlies game. The food and wine are amazing! The vegetarian options are limited but the menu has something for everyone. Also, the wine changes regularly and is organized by type. This is a lovely local spot. I love the concept, food and the great customer service.

So my first time at Greencork was absolutely wonderful!!! The whole self-serve concept is fun and different. While they do have a full bar as well I stuck with the wine this time and I did find one I really liked. They tell you the flavors to expect and the region of the wine so it's not too much of a mystery. Also you can get it in 2oz if you aren't sure about getting a bigger glass of it. I think that's my favorite part! Customer service here isn't lacking either, even though they don't have to serve you as much they are still very friendly and sociable. The owner is adorable and her daughter, the chef, is a genius. This is definitely my new spot!
(5)Kat F.
I love the wine, food, and atmosphere of Greencork. It's a great place for sitting with friends talking or date nights.
(5)Camille W.
This place I'm speechless I had such a nice time the food was very good and the wine they have a very nice variety the atmosphere is very laid back I definitely enjoyed myself.
(5)Natalie W.
The Fried Pound Cake is the best dessert I have had in eons!! It has butter pecan ice cream, whipped cream and caramel on top. I did my happy dessert dance while eating it. Our friend told us that 6 of us could share it. Luckily, I didn't listen to them and ordered two. After eating it is enough for 2 or 3 to share. The atmosphere is great and everyone who works at Greencork is fantastic. They are all very helpful and courteous. The concept of the restaurant is great. You can try a few reasonably priced (in relation to the coast of medium and large pours) small pours before deciding which wine you want to choose for a full glass. The appetizers and entrees are flavorful and unique. The goat cheese appetizer and fig appetizer are both excellent choices. We will definitely go here again. Reservations are recommended.
(5)Bridges K.
This is a lovely quiet place to try a variety of wines. The picnic basket is a great accompaniment. The hosts are very attentive. The only reason I didn't give a 5 is because there isn't much variety in moderately priced entrees.

Hotspots like Greencork make me wish I lived in Memphis! Home for the holidays, I arranged to meet a group of girlfriends at the Cooper-Young wine bar. (One point for the chance to make a reservation!) Like a YoLo for vino, Greencork bills itself as a self-serve wine-on-tap wine bar. With the swipe of a Greencork card, we could sample two-, four- or six-ounce pours of fine and finer wines that ranged from $3.50 to $20 for a two-ounce try. At the end of the night, we were charged for all the pours associated with our card. Brilliant! Although Greencork's wine selection could certainly stand alone, I'd recommend my dinner dish, as well: Diviiiiine Butter-Poached Lobster atop fresh scallion johnnycakes and served with semi-sweet lime butter. (I wasn't as impressed with my friends' gnocchi in a one-note tomato sauce.) And of course, who could resist a shared slice of Fried Pound Cake?! Since I'm merely a wino in training, I wish I could've learned more about wine pairings! Perhaps Greencork's menu could recommend the right kind of wine to go with each dish. (Bold Red or Sweet White?)
(4)Tina J.
I been here couple of times and let me tell u this place is amazing! Its filled with fine wines.. Last time I was here, we were celebrating of one my best friend bday. We didn't really get good experience last time. we had to wait for about hr. n half just for a table. we waited for our drinks to get to our table for an hr. would I go back to this place? yes, but on busy night like Saturday, cause I don't think they will provide good service...
(3)Vim I.
Adorable wine bar in the heart of Cooper-Young. The atmosphere like the other Yelpers have said is very cozy and and the wine stations are setup throughout the restaurant so you don't have to deal with long lines. They're split up by types of wines, like "Bold Reds", "Crisp Whites," etc, and they rotate the wines out intermittently so you can have plenty to taste. Upon entering for the wine tasting, they take your credit card and hand you another card that gives you access to the wines. Everything will get charged directly to your card, so hold on to your access card! This process makes the self-service fool-proof. You can also decide if you want 2 ounces, 4 ounces, or 8 ounces. The food was also good. We had the drunken figs, coconut shrimp, and lamb sandwich. All of them were delicious. The lamb sandwich could have used a little extra heat, but very good otherwise. I was disappointed that we didn't get an itemized receipt at the end, it's kind of hard to remember every tasting you just did. The servers were a little quirky and really talkative, which was fine because we were there to have fun. But at times we were wondering why they wouldn't leave us alone. There is that fine line after all of being friendly and overly friendly. I would definitely go back again.
(4)Richard A.
Had a great time! As the others have noted, self serve wine! One of the servers took away a dish too soon accidentally, and it was replaced without question. The French fries and hummus are delish!!! Great for sharing! Staff is very friendly! Get your card, drink all you like, pay at the end! Will be back for more...
(5)Tom G.
Stopped in for the 1st time yesterday. This place is one of the most comfortable bars/restaurants I've ever been in. Tried several 2 oz pours, 1 4 oz, and a coconut shrimp app. Everything was perfect. After a tough day at work, sitting at the bar, head kind of hanging, to have a soft voice ask how I was doing, & that voice was from Robin the owner, who sensed it was a tough day, I wanted to say, thank you Robin for asking, thanks for listening, and, you have a great establishment. I WILL be back, and I WILL bring friends and relatives. I'm pretty sure they'll like Greencork as much as I do.
(5)M R.
Cute place; wonderful, kind owner. A cool setup with the wine dispensers. You give up your credit card to the gentleman up front and get a "wine card" that gets inserted into each wine dispenser when you want a new glass. You then select your wine (prices are listed) and the level of pour you would like. I'm not a wine person, so $3.50-7 for two sips is not a bargain to me, but people who love wine would like this place a lot. And as I said before, the owner is just darling.
(4)Rachel L.
This is a great thing to see in Memphis. We had a fun evening, tried several wines and three appetizer type plates. The food was tasty and presented exquisitely. The cheese plate had an almost superfluous amount of condiments, but some folks might be into that. The place is pretty small, but there were a ton of people packed in there, and that made getting a glass of wine a challenge of timing. There's also a fireplace! It's lovely, but with all those people in there, if it was ever lit, I think they could advertise wine & hot yoga. The only criticisms I can give are: -most of the wines are not that great, I'm not sure if this restaurant is trying to cater to the wine crowd or the barefoot wine crowd. -the wine card thing is still kind of a pain. I know it's a work in progress.
(4)Mimi R.
Greatest place with wine machines containing 36 varieties oh fine wine and delicious food. Get a card when you enter to insert in one of the wine machines for your favorite or try different ones with the best food you ever tasted. Tuesdays buy a wine card and get free test kitchen food. It's always delicious even though it's just something they are trying that isn't on the menu. Something new for Memphis. Also, full bar with mixed drinks and beer. Enjoy a seat by a warm fireplace, on a sofa by the window, at the bar or one of the regular tables. Nice place to relax with friends or get reservations for a special event. Love it!
(5)Danny H.
We just moved here from northern California and heard of this place. We love wine and food. This place definitely has great wine and food. The Garden Fries were amazing and they have a great wine selection. The process of self serve wine is great and unlike anything I have seen before. This is a must try and I will be back for sure!
(5)Nic V.
We went to Greencork for a birthday party on Saturday. The self-serve wins bar concept is cool, and they do it very, very well at Greencork. Superb selection across all price points, including some high-end wines the average oenophile does not get to taste. That part they nail. The restaurant side of it needs a little work though, luckily mainly on the service. The food was good, not mind-blowing, but tasty. The lobster and Johnny cakes entree was the best imo. Also, I feel the apps were better than the main courses. But the service was just a little disjointed. Once they get that down, definitely a 4-star place. And I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.
(3)Senwhaa L.
If you are a wino, definitely try this place. It has a concept of a self serve frozen yogurt place except with wine. There are four stations and they are broken up into whites and reds. You can choose among three different pours: 2oz, 4oz, or 6oz. As a self proclaimed white wine connoisseur, I loved it because I could try a few of each without looking like an alcoholic. I didn't try the food but I looked at a menu and everything looked the delicious (and the smells of the wafting food around us made me so tempted to order). This is clearly a family owned establishment and you can tell that they truly cared about their customers. The woman who owned the place made sure to stop by each table and talked to us about her Thanksgiving and her son. Also a tip, if you finish a bottle of wine and didn't get the correct pour, it will be prorated (just make sure to remind them when you check out because the owner said sometimes it has its faults). My friend mentioned how it was my birthday and she jokingly got upset how I didn't tell her earlier when she stopped by so I could get free cake. This was my second visit in over a year and a half, but you can be sure that I won't wait as long for make my third visit here.
(5)Amber C.
Love this concept - basically you get a card, either by "starting a tab" (trading your debit card for a special chipped card) or buy a pre-paid card, and start trying wines. They have a huge variety, and they have 2, 4, or 6 oz pours. The 2 oz ones range from $3 to $5, and, while it's easy to run up a tab, they aren't overpriced or expensive. I haven't tried any food yet, but the people I saw with it seemed happy. The atmosphere is great, with a nice little bar, lots of tables, and some small cushy chair seating areas. My only complaint was that the waitresses/bartenders are kind of...meh...about their jobs. The male waiter was great, but both the waitress running around (who was outright rude) and the bartender were just kind of going through the motions it seemed like. But they were super busy, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt!
(4)Jamila H.
OMG!! The service was excellent! The food was delicious! They were out of the fried pound cake , so I ordered the chocolate biscuit with some ice cream. When I say it was good, that is an understatement. The owner, "Fairy Wine Mother", came by our table to chat which really made us feel welcomed in the restaurant. I will definitely recommend this spot to everyone. And they will be seeing me again!!! Jth
(5)Dana H.
The atmosphere, the food, the servers and OH MY LORD THE WINE all splendid!! The owner took the time to describe not only the wine section that I was interested in, but he did the same for every member of my party. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere really comfortable. The staff seems like they actually want to be at work. Don't think about coming here, GET HERE RIGHT NOW!!
(5)Lane B.
I can't wait to come back to Green Cork. I picked the most affordable wine (5$ for a delicious Purple Cowboy pour) and split the $18 butter poached lobster and an Elvis dog dessert with a friend. The clientele is a neat mix of casual drinkers at the bar and East Memphis ladies out on the town, giving an otherwise bourgeois experience a more approachable feel. Lobster, dessert and a yummy red for under 25$ - amazing. The owner greeted us personally on our way out. Robin, you have created a gem - I wish you all the best!
(5)Valerie H.
I was recently on a pretty extended work assignment in Sydney, Australia and I had the pleasure of spending a long afternoon at a place similar to this one. I remember telling my friend [American/chef/fellow lover of wine] who I was with "This is fantastic establishment, but I can't imagine anything like this ever opening in Memphis." I am so glad that I was wrong. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly including the owner who was so nice, you would make you want to come back just on how nice she was. Aside from the wine, there is a bar and tapas available. The only confusing thing is figuring out how much money to load onto the card. I think it would be nice for the card to keep a total of how much you owe but I'm sure there is reason for this. 5 stars for being innovative, pro-local, and having a trendy atmosphere.
(5)Kyle C.
Self-serve wine! Need I say more? And, it's not all crap wine either. Plenty of decent selections from all of the different varietals. Food is limited, but all of the choices look good. Try the Zucchini chips with the house made ranch dressing. Great neighborhood, great concept. Well executed.
(4)Chelsea C.
This is my new fave spot in midtown...not only is it a SELF SERVE WINE BAR...but everytime you walk in the delicious smells from the kitchen fill the room. Very cool and fun environment and the staff is so friendly! And if your not a wino then no worries b/c the fairy wine mother (and owner) is always on had for good suggestions! Best thing is on tues nights you get to try FREE SAMPLES from the kitchen! I can't wait til the patio is finished...then it will be the go to spot in Memphis! But I love it...def a spot to chill and talk with friends or family

I tried Greencork for the first time tonight following their soft opening one week earlier. The staff was friendly and helpful. When you first come in, you'll want to obtain a wine card so that you can enjoy the wines at the different wine dispensing machines. They offer 32 wines in 4 machines (8 each) that vary from light whites, complex whites, medium bodied reds and bold reds. The pour sizes vary from 2, 4 and 6 ounces. You can also try high octane beers at the bar. As the wine card implies, the wine is self service, but Greencork offers table service for food. The menu consists of fun and innovative small plates. I tried a watermelon gazpacho with a hot pepper bite to it that paired deliciously with a Spanish Albariño . I also tried the black bean hummus and a vegetarian dish consisting of a whipped potato fritters, aspargus, mushrooms, and tomatoes with a Moscato wine. I finished the evening with mini blueberry zinfandel tarts and a glass of Cigar Zin. My dining companion enjoyed the cheese truffles, grilled salmon with veggies similar to mine and finished with ice cream sliders (ice cream cookie sandwiches). My only complaint was the noise. The proprietor has not yet finished the wall space/ceiling to include some soft surfaces that would help dampen the noise. We sat next to a loud table that made it hard to have a conversation. The staff informed us that there are plans to correct the noise situation.

1st time 7-22. The Red wines I tried were good but my favorite was Nana's. The featured appetizer was very good, the Chutney was excellent. The Cheese app & Coconut Shrimp app were very good. Service was excellent-all 3 were willing to help & answer all our questions. The only problem - w/n 15 mins of paying The bill I requested a printout so I could decide which wine I liked the best. It was not available. ??? It had been erased from the system. I will return, but make sure I tell them I want a printout before I pay.

Greencork is wonderful. The food is beautifully prepared and so delicious. I have had the goat cheese with roasted grapes and herbs, which is outstanding, the Drunken Figs...YUM, and the Garden Fries. They're all great. I have had the Risotto and the Butter Poached Lobster for main courses. I cannot recommend this place too highly-I am thoroughly impressed. The owner and her son are ever-present without being annoying, and the wait staff is well trained and delightful. Plus, from where I live (near Overton Square) you can Ride the Roo and not worry about driving. I love this place.

A great place to go to try new wines, and the self serve style is great, although I think a couple things could be refined to make the experience more efficient. You must get a special card from the front which you use to get your wine from the machine, and then you can get as much wine as makes you happy! After finishing, take your card up to the front and check out. This is where it can get slow if there's a crowd (which seems to happen on the weekend). Haven't had much food other than the hummus, but that was tasty! The wine can be pricey, but one evening they had a few bottles on sale that made a glass much more affordable.

Self serve wine bar is awesome! This place is a lot of fun. It gets a little crowded and loud so if an intimate quiet place for two is what you'r e looking for you might want to go elsewhere on a weekend but other than that, it's a great fun place that you should definitely check out!

I like the concept of this place and really enjoyed the experience. I give the people running it 5 stars. The lady, who I assume is the owner thanked us for coming in. It didn't come across as "good for business" but genuinely sincere. She comes across as a very nice person and that goes a long way with me in itself. The other staff members were the same, very attentive and went out of their way to be courteous and give recommendations on the wines. Wine is in the eye of the beholder, so not much to discuss here. We only had the "premium cheese plate" so in terms of food this is all I have to go on. $16 and probably 75 cents worth of food costs if that so obviously not much to brag on here. A strawberry, some crackers, grapes and a small sliver of 2-3 cheeses, homemade mustard, some marmalade, bread, and that was it. The other reviews brag on the food so maybe this was the poorest choice on the menu. There is something missing with this place. The lights were very bright and distracting where I was sitting. If I owned this place I would dim the lights, and can the hoite toite and work on the menu with more all around good foods that are filling, burgers, oysters, something like you would find at Sweetgrass Next Door. Wines can be paired with everything. For a $100 tab for 3 people I would view this place as a one time venture. I think long term you want people to come for the menu and have the wine available not vice versa. Now I have to find something to eat, I'm hungry. I give it 4 stars for the people running it, service and potential. If I rated it on the likelihood I would return it would get a 1 or 2.

Fantastic food to go with a great variety of wines. The lobster with hoe cakes was outstanding. The dessert of fried pound cake with butter pecan ice cream is worth the trip Very glad this place is on Memphis. There is no better customer experience than this one. Very nice owners.

I have to say I love the concept of this place. As soon as I walked in with my girlfriends, we were greeted by the hostess. She started explaining the concept to the restaurant which I found very intriguing. I have to say I like how the wines are self served and how you can taste as much or as little as you like. The wines were not the best but I am hoping that they will switch out the wines so it is not the same every time. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful. I ordered the ruben rolls and I like them. I thought they were delicious. I was not sure how I was going to like them but very happy that I ordered them. I would definitely go back to this place. The only reason I gave it an A-OK is because of the wine choices that they had available. The atmosphere is great I look forward to my next visit to Greencork!

iFirst of all, 'm not a wine drinker and i think this is a cool place. i like the concept of being able to try different wines without committing to a full glass or full bottle. Others have said their wine selection is not awesome for the prices. I think it just depends on the selection that they have in stock at the time. They run out of some things. We went on a Tuesday night and apparently got wiped out over the weekend. i went with some wine drinkers and they thought the selection was fine. Tip: Tuesday is Test Kitchen Tuesday. Do the Test Kitchen Tuesday. To qualify, you have to load $15 on your Greencork declining balance wine card and you get the free appetizer that they are testing. On the night we went, it was some delicious puff of crab on some fried green tomato. it was delicious. Since it was our first time, we decided to get the picnic basket which contained grapes, strawberries, 2 kinds of cheese, cheese truffles, curried chicken salad, crackers, bread, olives, homemade tomato relish, prosciutto, marinated asparagus, genoa salami. It was a lot of food and filled us up. However, all the small plates on their menu sounded pretty good. What was most amazing to me was the transformation of the space. The space formerly housed Imagine Vegan Cafe. We went to the space when it was that and it seemed dark and drafty and didn't really do anything with the space. Now, the space is lighted and cozy. The tables are slight too small. our picnic basket barely fit on the table with silverware plates and glasses. The servers were friendly and helpful. It definitely seems like a family owned business and they are very into making sure your experience is exceptional. i'm looking forward to going back and trying it again.

Great business model. I gave it three stars because the wine selection is not great and you pay a lot for for the small amount you get. Decent cheese plate and atmosphere. Not bad for Memphis but could be improved.

Noise is a problem. Went there for a birthday party last Friday. I was a little miffed that the owner would not let us put three tables together. The server was great and the food is awesome. A bit on the pricey side though. Seventy Bucks for a few glasses of vino and 3 tapas is a bit too much. Hope the owner gets it sooner than later. Quite a unique concept however adding funds on to your card sucks! You have to stand in line and listen to the instructions for the newbies. They should just take your credit card and charge you when you are done.

This place is awesome. Their beer selection is top of the line (if your not a wine connoisseur). The bratwurst and shepherds pie was so good! Definitely recommend this place for a nice night out.

Great Wine Selection! It is a fun way to try several different types of wine and learn about each one. It's great that you are not pressured to try to high end wines or feel like you are being judged for sticking with budget levels. The food is a bit pricey here but I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun night out!

So I had a very short visit here but was very impressed by the experience. I came to pick up my girlfriend from a wine club event here and decided to stay for a moment to enjoy the ambiance and try a little wine. I sat on the couch with a small table in front (very comfortable) and a waitress came right by with a glass of water and asked if we needed anything. The ambiance was definitely modern and relaxing, and had quite the crowd there. The lady and I then went to get some wine. They have a couple vending machines of sorts that do small pours of a selected wine, which I thought was a brilliant concept. However, my girlfriend informed me they didn't really have any sweet white wines so I was essentially out of luck for this visit. I had one sampling of wine and we were on our way. However, they definitely made a great impression in the short time I was there and look forward to enjoying dinner there soon!

Jonathan C.'s review pretty much nails it. I assume they fixed the wall/ceiling issue because the noise level was not an issue tonight. The idea of self serve wine in various sizes makes this a great dining option for a group or a solo venture. I feel it's a place that one could have a low key night out alone. It's a great way to try new wines and explore different flavors.

I can't say enough great things! The idea of a self serve wine bar is genius! Lots of different kinds and the staff there are a great help to those who don't know wine. The owner was there the entire time talking to everyone. The food was amazing as well. A really great place for a date night or girls night out. We will be back very soon!

So awesome! The owner was the friendliest /most helpful and the food was delicious!! I had fried zucchini, and it was amazing. The wine of course was the best part.
