My husband and I went with my father and step-mother, taking them out for Father's Day. We let my dad pick the place, and he picked Cracker Barrel. This visit started off great, with no wait to be seated. Which has never happened to me at a Cracker Barrel, ever. Unfortunately it all went downhill from there. After being seated we waited a few for a waitress. Which wasn't shocking, because it was pretty busy. It was 10:30am on a Saturday, so we expected it to be busy. We placed our drink and food order and got our drinks quickly. Hubby and I ordered breakfasty type things, step-mom got a salad and dad ordered a catfish plate off the menu they gave all of us. About 10 minutes later our waitress came out to talk to my step-mom, as they were out of several of the fixings for her salad. She took it in stride and said she still wanted the salad. The waitress left, before I got the chance to ask for more tea. Another 15 minutes go by and our food shows. Everyone's food but my dad's. The waitress says that he ordered a meal they don't serve until 11, and she didn't know what time it was, and no one in the kitchen bothered to tell her. So it was everyone's fault (including my dad for ordering off an auxiliary menu they gave us) but hers. And she served the rest of us our food, so we could either be rude and eat in front of him, or wait and let our food get cold. Dad insisted we eat. So we went with rude and ate. He was much calmer than I was, and asked her to bring something already prepared, like biscuits and gravy. His biscuits and gravy showed up 13 minutes later. Yep, I timed it because I was fuming by this point. By now he could have had the catfish! We all ate, and the food was good, but the horrible service brings this review down to a single star. This place gives all Cracker Barrel's a bad name.

I would give this place more stars, but the service tends to be slow. Nice and friendly, just slow. If you're looking for good 'ol home cooking then this place is good. Portions tend to be larger than most places. They do serve breakfast all day, though I haven't ever had it, menu looks good. They do offer healthier and lower calorie options, which I've had and are tasty. It's not a place to shout about but it is good and consistent.

I love Cracker Barrel, probably because my dad loves it and we always ate there while traveling. All of the main courses and "fixins" are very good but I'll tell you this is the only place where the grilled chicken is better than fried. And oh I love those biscuits. If you ask nicely they will bring them before your meal. Wednesday night is my favorite with the chicken cheddar broccoli bake, so bad for you but so good! I always enjoy playing the brain teaser they have at the tables and have enjoyed a round of checkers on occasion when the weather is nice. I've never received bad service here. Nothing has blown me away but I've always gotten drink refills and food brought out hot.

I absolutely love Cracker Barrel. But this particular location needs work. Granted I understand that's it Father's Day and that they were busy, but to be treated as such, is unacceptable. We walked in and the hostess told us it'll be just a few moments and they were waiting on a party to get up to seat us. We had a party of 6 so we waited patiently. There was a party of 5 that comes in after us. They walk up to the hostess stand and gets seated IMMEDIATELY. Our party was upset. I told the hostess that we had been waiting and we should've been seated 1st. She looks at us and with no hesitation and says "oh I wasn't paying attention" we told her that was an unacceptable answer and she acted like we didn't matter. Mind you, we haven't even sat down yet and the customer service is pretty whack. We finally get seated, but then our server takes at least 10-15 minutes to even come greet us! She took our drink and food orders at the same time (we'd waited so long we'd read the whole menu) she took another 10 minutes to bring us water and another 10 min after that to bring us biscuits we asked for when we ordered our food...I won't be spending anymore money at the Cracker Barrel on hacks cross on Memphis, Tennessee..

I don't like to go out for breakfast because in my opinion is not that hard to do homemade whole wheat pancakes or waffles, but we all have our days where we are not in the mood the do anything in the kitchen, so that's why we ended up here. The food is tasty enough and its not far from our house. We've just been here twice but both times the service and food was good, and I always end up buying something from the store when I go into one of this stores. I had in the past ate dinner here and didn't like it, I was super greasy.

I've gone to Cracker Barrel several times to pick up breakfast to go and there's a problem pretty much every time. Today was the last straw for me and I won't be going back. They forgot part of my order this time (& this isn't the first time this happened. I could go on and on listing the issues but ill just say that I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! It's worth it to drive to midtown to eat at some of the much better breakfast spots there.

My mom loves this place so we come here for lunch often. Some of my favorite dishes here are the spicy grilled farm-raised catfish fillet and the deep fried chicken livers. Both dishes are flavorful but nothing extraordinary. Macaroni n cheese and mashed potatoes are my go to side dishes. The lemonade their is too sour for my taste. I try not to get too full, so I can get their double chocolate fudge cake with ice cream for dessert, it is the bomb! The service here is ok, depends on how crowded it gets. I enjoy looking around the store and always end up buying something.

I love this place. But, then, I love this kind of food. The people are always friendly and helpful. The food is of consistently high quality. The pot roast is some of the best I ever had. Went last night. Ordered their Friday night catfish plate. If I had any idea how small the portions were I wouldn't have ordered it, not for ten dollars anyways. It was not filet's. It was the nugget style but they were longer than usual. There was not much flavor to the fish. I am not really fond of having to fill my self up by eating mostly my sides. I like for their to be enough of the main entree that I don't have to do this and the catfish plate did not allow this. Ten dollars and the main portion was small, the waitress did not do a good job of keeping my glass filled, the butter was sold cold it had a hard time melting on the biscuits. Also the waitress seemed so knowledgeable about her job and the menu that it was an insincere mechanical approach to asking you what you wanted. She obviously knew the menu in and out and as soon as you were done saying one thing she was asking another question about it or something else about how you wanted it cooked or what sides you wanted. It just came off as insincere. If we hadn't of had a gift card I would definitely be giving a lower star as I would have been more upset that I spent that much money here. I did appreciate the waitress's honesty when saying we wanted a plain burger for my kid she said she can tell them and do the best she can but they still sometimes do it and she said that substituting an item for the parfait wold be extra. before leaving, the waitress could tell I was a little frustrated by everything. She felt she had to tell me how good of a waitress she is and that she hopes this isn't the last time we come to CB.

I am grateful for Cracker Barrels across the nation. Where else can you trust that you are going to get good veggies and biscuits in backwoods towns while road tripping? I never remember the world without Cracker Barrel. I used to think it was Crackel Barrel as a child and wondered what that was about. When I could read and realized it was Cracker it still didn't clear much up. Maybe it's Crack Barrel and the old man is sitting on his front porch doing neighborhood drug deals under the disguise of fancy crackers. Who knows...but their biscuits are the best. I couldn't go on in life without Cracker Barrel biscuits, fried apples, and macaroni and cheese. Their hash brown casserole is also a must. Good chicken, good catfish, good shrimp. (Please bring back the CHOCOLATE COBBLER!!!!) This particular location is definitely not my favorite or it would have received more stars. The service is consistently inconsistent. You could get a veteran server one day and the next get a server who has no clue what they're doing. Plus they can be slow as molasses getting your food.

Ok so I've never done a decent review of these places. Let me say that my family has been taking me to Cracker Barrel's all my life while on vacations. I used to love coming here because it meant I could pick out another Beanie Baby or two with my sister. I've never been much interested in the other stuff but looking around this time I saw some neat cooking appliances I wouldn't mind looking at next time I'm here. Cracker Barrel serves home-style meals and breakfast food- not the kind of stuff I typically go for but still decent enough that I can usually find something. I seem to enjoy their specials quite a bit. I've also always loved their chicken and dumplings. Today I came with my mom and sister and we had an ok experience. But for some reason the soup wasn't hot at all. They microwaved it twice and it still just wasn't hot. Mom got it taken off though. My sister's french toast wasn't all that impressive either but my ribs were amazing! There was a ton of meat and it literally fell off the bone. I couldn't even pick it up to eat it off because it just slid off every time I tried to separate a section. Freaking awesome. Also, Mom's salad was just amazing. I want to know what sauce they used on the chicken because it tasted fantastic. I will definitely get that next time!! Loved: - Country House Salad with Chicken - Chicken and Dumplings (hubby doesn't like) - Slow Roasted BBQ Ribs (hubby liked) - Vegetable Soup Ok: - Cornbread - Hashbrown Casserole Nah: - Steak Fries - Strawberry Cream French Toast

I really like when a restaurant treats you so poorly that you feel like you're doing them a service by never showing up again. It helps me narrow down where I want to go eat. We'd ask the waitress for something (e.g. refills), she'd roll her eyes, not say anything and wander off leaving us to wonder if she heard us or if we were inconveniencing her by showing up at this place. I wouldn't remark about this if it didn't happen every single time we talked to her, not to mention that to begin with we didn't know if our orders were ever going to be taken, or if our drinks were ever going to make it to the table, or ever going to be refilled. If I were the manager of this restaurant, I'd be professionally embarrassed by the lack of service quality and speed, but more for the general disdain with which I was treated at this establishment. The food however, did justice to the good ole' Cracker Barrel works, and it's only for the kitchen staff that I'm giving it two stars. Good, greasy Southern goodness, that you know you should feel guilty about, but it just tastes so good. I will however, not inconvenience any of the wait staff here again by showing up.

We were out early on a Sat morning (for us) for an errand. We decided to try Cracker Barrel for breakfast. They have some breakfast pancakes that PD likes. We were seated quickly, and did not wait long for the first cup of coffee. We put in our order, PD got the pancakes she wanted and specifically asked for "maple" syrup. (We did know it is not real maple syrup.) I asked for one of the bacon eggs combos. When it was delivered, she got the wrong syrup. I got all of my stuff. She asked for the correct syrup and proceeded to eat the other stuff while waiting for the syrup to arrive. It finally did, just in time. My bacon & eggs were OK. But I found the biscuits small and the condiments not of the quality I would have expected. Only one container of jam and two of butter. Service was acceptable, but I would have appreciated it if my coffee cup was filled up more often

Cracker Barrel is definitely something I'm glad to have around. I definitely like how the establishment is laid out to where there is a store, a restaurant area, and rocking chairs with checkers outside. I'm personally a fan of the country fried steak here, and their hashbrown casserole is quite good. Their Coca-Cola cake is also amazing! Their price points are very reasonable and the portions are quite filling. My only complaint here is that the service is not as attentive as it should be at times. Overall though, I look forward to coming back time and time again!

You've earned two stars, or rather, Anita J, who was training another server, lost a lot of my love for Cracker Barrel. I cannot emphasize how much I love the biscuits here; I'm not too keen on the cornbread; when I order (such as tonight: turkey and dressing night) I specify biscuits ONLY. The bread didn't come out with the meal; about halfway through the dinner, Anita shows up with two biscuits and two pieces of the dreaded cornbread. I mentioned to her "but I asked for only biscuits"; this is where the dining experience soured, for my waitress took the time to stare me down, then after 30 seconds, halfheartedly offered to get more biscuits, as if my request was a tremendous ordeal and inconvenience. I felt shown up an embarrassed, so I just told her, "we're fine". Afterwards, the service took a turn to nonexistent: no drink refills, no offer for dessert, nothing. I scarfed down my meal, as I was hungry, except for the two uneaten cornbread rolls that likely ended up in the trash, all because an un attentive waitress that was gave herself more importance than serving the customer didn't strive to satisfy a "now FORMER customer". The manager and cashier were there "going through the motions", not inquiring "is everything all right?"; simply collecting payment as if in an assembly line. If they allow someone like "Anita J" to train new servers, I fear for the quality of service at this Cracker Barrel. Because I worked as a waiter, I know how lousy it is if a table "stiffs" or leaves a low tip. I left the 20%, but I vow not to set foot at this location ever again. All over two biscuits denied by a server with an attitude.
