Beautiful inside, linen table clothes, glass water and wine glasses, very clean. We had four sushi rolls, all very good. Service was great and everyone was friendly. Defiantly will go back.

Don't let the tacky Christmas lights fool you! This place is great! Food and service are wonderful! Best sushi in town! Good dinner for two specials. You won't be disappointed .

This is the best sushi in the area. My boyfriend and i just moved to the area and as a fine dining chef, he was impressed. Sushi says a lot about a restaraunt and theirs is good stuff! I have been impressed with their entrees as well but not as much. They are pretty on par with every other place like it. For the area, you can't beat it.

First impression was great when walking in. White tablecloth. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Waiter was knowledgeable about the entrees and assisted us with making choices. The food came out quickly. Nice presentation. And the food was GOOD! We will be visiting for dinner again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the level of quality and service I received at Lemon Grass. It was like an oasis in eastern Tennesesee. I always judge Thai restaurants on their Panang Curry and Lemon Grass's was superb. The peppers were large and fresh and the peanut sauce was a great balance of heat and sweet. I also had a chance to try a bite of their Tuna Tataki and it will probably be my next meal when I visit again. The tuna was incredibly fresh and buttery. This leads me to believe that their sushi is just as fresh and delicious. Lemon Grass would stand out as great Thai in any city.

Certainly the best Thai and sushi in and around Maryville. This place can be a bit pricy, but they have good deals on lunch box specials and the atmosphere is also very nice.

Walnut Shrimp is my husband's go-to at Lemon Grass and the grouper is amazing! We order it extra spicy. Sushi is always excellent. Everything is plated and presented well. Always excellent service.

Ok, do not order the peach saki. It is sparkling saki, not the traditional saki experience at all.

Chris was a great server. The food was good - sushi was good also. 2 chile indication on the menu wasn't accurate, however, for the drunken noodles. Need to step it up a notch or advise on how spicy the dish actually is. Overall a good experience and will be returning.

We were very pleasantly surprised with Lemon Grass. We passed through Maryville at least once a year and had noticed this restaurant several times since both me and my wife enjoy sushi. Today there were a lot of cars there for lunch so we decide to stop. We are really glad we did! My wife got the Udon soup with the tempura vegetables while I got the lemongrass soup and today's special sushi roll. Firstly the servings were very large for lunch. We were planning to have a light lunch but it turned out that this was our main meal of the day. Both the soups were very good but the sushi roll was what we found exceptionally good. We were the second group to try a new dessert sushi that they had created the night before. It had apples and mango and cream cheese all wrapped in a sushi roll, with what I believe is a peanut butter sauce on top. I put a picture of it on this site. Although it first it sounded bad it turned out to be exceptionally good! I plan to come back here every time I come to Maryville, the only problem with that is it means I'll be here about once or twice a year. If you live in the area or if you're passing through the area, and like sushi I highly recommend this restaurant!

Very solid Thai food in an unexpected location. I've had Thai cuisine throughout the United States, and I was a bit skeptical about finding good Thai food in Eastern Tennessee, but this place made me a believer. Our server, Lucy, was efficient and friendly. The food came out hot and flavorful, and the inside ambience was exceptional given the fairly blase outside appearance. Kudos!

I get the Masaman curry almost every time because it is safe. And, it is one of very few non-chain restaurants in this small town. Crowded inside. I never order the sushi there. Generally clean, great service, which is why it is getting ***. The parking situation is frustrating. Park across the street after hours and walk over.

I've never tried the sushi here, but the pad thai is very, very delicious. The restaurant is a little small inside for the amount of customers they try to seat. It is a lot fancier inside than it looks outside, so don't let the exterior fool you! The food was a little pricey for my liking. Overall, it was a good experience.

This place is just a gem in a sea of American style and Mexican style restaurants. Over the past couple of months I have just bombarded my taste buds with the same old same old, but tonight it was different. I finally made it across the street from my usual spots and landed at Lemon Grass. The food here is great. My friends and I shared spring rolls, steamed goyza, cashew chicken and a curry masala. It was all so good. One of my friends was having trouble picking what she wanted and the server totally brought us a sample of two sauces. That was so nice! My favorite was the goyza. It was really flavorful. But back to the service. It was great. Grant was our server and he was so funny and attentive. It is really one of those situations were I would literally pick this place over all of the other restaurants in the area because he was just so good. Wine and beer only for the bar, so don't expect to slam back a martini. The beer prices are pretty darn good!

Just awful. I tried eating here three times and each time it was a miserable experience. The first time I ordered uni (sea urchin) sushi. It arrived not only frozen in the middle, but freezer burned. I sent it back and got ignored by the waiter for the rest of the hour I was there. The second time I asked specifically if there was bell pepper in the entree as I'm allergic to it. I was told that no, it's pepper-free. It came with so much bell pepper that it looked like a pile of bell pepper in sauce. The waitress got VERY nasty when I sent it back. I tried the Tom Kha Gai, and it was watery with hardly anything floating in the bowl. The third time, the beef entree was burned very badly. I sent that back and waited for it to be replaced for over a half hour. At that point, I left a couple bucks on the table for my iced tea and left. Don't waste your time, money, or your appetite.

I guess this place is ok for Tennessee, but in all honesty it's really not that great. I always judge a Thai place on their Pad Thai and theirs was actually pretty mediocre. It was missing peanuts and other ingredients and it tasted pretty bland. It was also soaked in watery and greasy sauce. The restaurant itself is kind of weird looking and there is not much parking. Once inside you can tell that the owners tried to make it nice. The waiters are all dressed nicely and are very curteous. But the restaurant itself has no asian or Thai feel to it. I will probably come here again because it was decent, but it's really far from being good Thai food.

Lemon grass is decent. Being from Chicago and Lawrence Kansas, I'm used to AMAZING Thai and Sushi. Down here most ethnic restaurants are incredibly 'americanized'. This is definitely true of Lemon Grass. Their Pad Thai is sweet with absolutely NO spice. Great for the old people...but for people that like actual Pad Thai it's kind of a let down. I do recommend it with the tofu. The combo of textures and flavors work perfectly and much better than chicken. The Panang Curry was decent as well. I wasn't too impressed with the veggie tempura and it's sauce. Lemon Grass is in a strange building. Maybe an old Pizza Hut or something? They have done a nice job turning it into a nice place. Our service was wonderful. We had a nice young man that was all smiles and super sweet. I didn't catch his name, but he was tall, thin, brown hair, and maybe a soul patch/goatee?? My hat is off to him...my grandmother and I loved our experience. I'll be back to Lemon Grass to write a follow up review after I have tried the Sushi. mmmm....sushi.

I went Lemon Glass only once, but there were enough reasons that I would go again. At that time I wanted to eat the standard Thai Curry, which tastes coconut milk and is hot. Then there were 4 or 5 kinds of curry and I had red curry, because I wanted vegetables too. It was very yummy, nice enough to forget the weird combination of Thai curry with "OHITSU"(a Japanese bowl for keeping rice warm.). Actually I needed 3 or 4 portions of rice on the spot, so it was convenient! As the dish is so good, this restaurant has been honored a few times as "the best restaurant" in east Tennessee or somewhere else. The waiters are very kind and not too smiley. I liked them. Next time I would try sushi, which is cooked by Japanese chef .

I have tried and tried and tried Lemon Grass. I really want to like it because everyone else does. I feel like I am missing something when I mention this place and everyone squeals: "Oh, that is my FAVORITE restaurant in Maryville!" Listen people of Maryville: Lemon Grass is not that good. For the Thai portion of the menu, the Walnut Shrimp would be the only thing that I have had that would get more than two stars. It is stuck at three because it is one of the most expensive things on the menu. I have never had such poorly made Pad Thai before. Veggies that normally go in Pad Thai were absent in the Lemon Grass version. It was noodles, chicken and sauce. That's pretty much all. It was sad really. As far as sushi, why are you mincing your sushi? If the fish is good, it doesn't need to be minced. It should be sliced but left intact. Either the fish is bad, or the sushi chef has a very unique approach to sushi. I would consider this an unpardonable sin (and they do it at the Lemongrass in Knoxville too). Besides the travesty that is minced sushi, the sushi is OK. The best in Maryville, but when your only competition is Hana, that is not saying much. I would always make the trip to Knoxville for better sushi than have to visit this place again. Sorry Maryville, we just weren't meant to have a good sushi place in town.

I ate here once. I ended up apologizing to my employee about the Pad Thai. He had never had Pad Thai and after I kept going on about how I loved it we ate here because it was close to work. It was very watery w/ no taste. The shrimp had not been deveined. I'm not a fan of eating shrimp poo. Maybe their other food is good. I might try the Cedar Bluff location, since all the positive reviews I've gotten is from that location, but I'm sorry Maryville....I will not return to this location.

It was our first time here. The lot had 1 spot left - just for us. We had Pad Thai with Tofu and Panang Curry with Chicken. I asked for wide rice noodles in place of rice for the Panang. The Pad Thai was excellent. They fry their tofu nicely for this dish. The Panang was great. Next time I will order it spicier. Standard is a spice level of about 1.5 out of 5. I'll try the 2.5 next time.
(5)

Little disappointed here - it came highly recommended, but it was a bit of a let down. The Panang Curry was good, but for $12 was a small dish. Pad Thai, which is every Thai place's bread and butter, was meh. Sweet, but all the flavors blended together - nothing really excellent about it.

I've been here two or three times now and they always have good sushi. However, some of the rolls sound really good from the menu but don't have a lot of flavor. My other complaints are that the pricing seems odd (for example, rolls with similar ingredients can vary in price by $6) and it is often very noisy.
