Fresh, crisp salad and the cottage cheese with fruit was really good. We split a hamburger. It wasn't a big one like other places, but it tasted good. I will continue to support local restaurants. Waitress was really nice and friendly.

I have to put Dubb's in a particular category as I begin this review. It's the kind of place I grew up going to so the nostalgia factor was high. Also, it was like a time machine taking you back to a place before no-smoking restaurants, $2 coffee served by snotty "baristas", and btw no wi-fi. Not that I'm "better" than that or want to be "old school", it's just a different feel that's almost extinct. I actually didn't go for breakfast, but had a breakfast meal off the menu. I had a Center Cut Country Ham plate. I opted for the pinto beans and pickled beets instead of breakfast sides. The ham was cooked well and a nice cut. Nothing fancy, just good ham prepared well. The beans were real dried beans, not beans that had been in a can for months. The pickled beets were good, but not great...could have been stronger or even spicy. Everyone at the table was pleased with their order. And most commented that it reminded them of something from the past: granny's living room, an old truck stop, or some place dad used to stop when they went hunting. I'll go back. I caution those who cherish polish and flash. This place is for those who appreciate strong coffee and no at least three Merl Haggard songs by heart. Enjoy.

MEALS NOT ON WHEELS BUT SHOULD BE !! OMG......this is the kind of food that gets given to elderly homebound people who can't go out to a decent restaurant !! Actually, most people that were there the day we tried to eat there were in their 70s or older, coming for the $5 lunch. The entree that day was a small dish of saukerkraut and weiners !!! With two canned vegetables. At least our waitress was honest enough to tell us that nothing was made fresh or homemade.......nothing !!! She was nice and after we ordered a bacon and egg sandwich....which arrived with white bread, a fried egg and one half slice of burned bacon on each sandwich......we just couldn't eat it, and we left. The kitsch that is supposed to exist here is just half hearted imitation, it doesn't resemble the real thing, just like their food !! Go anywhere but HERE.......to Cheddars, the Roadhouse, Puleos.....or Audreys.......just don't punish yourself with even going thru the door at Dubbs.

This place has been around forever, as a child this place had the best breaded fish and mac n cheese around. As I grow older they still have good food and good prices, their fish still keeps me coming back too, it really has that cafeteria flavor and style but I keep coming back for more. The customer service is old school classic waitress wearing white on white fare, you get a smiling face and good food and a reasonable price but the location is what makes you feel that nostalgic feeling only Dubb's can give. Worth your time and a staple for people who have lived in this area over 20 years. Love this place.
