Brand new, modern building with a big parking lot. I love BBQ so I've been wanting to try it for a while. I was surprised at how big and nice this place was inside. In fact, it seems a little big and fancy for such a small city and it looks like it cost a fortune to build. I hope they can make it. The staff was very friendly and service was super fast. The food was decent but not exceptional. The pulled pork sandwich wasn't so much pulled as it was a big chunk of pork. It's the kind of sandwich where you take a bite and end up with a quarter pound of meat dangling from your mouth. I prefer more tender and more shredded. Also, it was decently moist but didn't have much flavor. But it wasn't bad. The corn on the cob was big and they deliver it in a gravy bowl so you can soak it in margarine. I wish they had butter but margarine wasn't bad I guess. Lastly, I got the feeling from the price and clientele that they don't expect you to eat by hand. People were using knife and fork to saw into their sandwiches. Sorry but I hold sandwiches with my hands. But soaked in BBQ sauce (and margarine from the corn) meant I was a mess, in constant need of cleanup. Unfortunately you only get one napkin here unless you ask. I muffled out "more napkin" to the waitress and she brought me one...one. Smaller than the original. I looked like the joker with BBQ sauce all over my cheeks and that little extra napkin barely fixed it. Lastly, no peach cobbler, which I thought was standard BBQ dessert fare, and the prices were on the high side, which is understandable when you see how expensive this place is inside. On the positive side, though, the food wasn't bad, there was ample parking, there were TVs everywhere, the staff was friendly and fast and they had a broad selection of BBQish food. And the banana pudding sounded amazing, though I was too full to try. I will probably go back but the BBQ overall was mediocre so it's not at the top of my list.

I had heard a lot about this place, which may have contributed to my disappointment. While the service was prompt and friendly, the ribs were overdone and tasted like jerky. They were small and did not do well to fill me up. I wanted to try their 3 different sauces but they came out pre-dressed. At the end of the day, very average BBQ.

I don't know if sites like Yelp and Urbanspoon have any value anymore when it is obviously so easy to anonymously troll in the service of a competitor. Perhaps it is time to have reviews linked to a verified name from now on.

A delight of a meal. Had the BBQ nachos appetizer - more than enough for one person. Each in our party of four were very pleased with our meals. Attentive server and chat with the walking around manager added to the quality. Our server offered drinks to go as well. You will enjoy!

We had excellent service. The food was not good and way over priced. This was the worst $60 I ever spent. If I were you I'd drive to the other side of town and try any other BBQ place.

All I can say is - just try the wings and get back to me. As far as I'm concerned, they are the best chicken wings I have ever had. The sausage is good, too.

The name says it all it's a dead end the food was mediocre at best the waitress was more interested in taking a smoke break than her tables me and my wife went expecting great BBQ but the brisket had 2 inches of fat on it and her pulled pork was full of gristle too bad whitts is gone guess we will go to buddy's from now on

Go here if you like spicy BBQ sauce. Of the three sauces offered, the mild is still a lip burner. Thanks for the Yelp warning Gina D! The pulled pork and wings were so-so during our visit tonight. I had my eye on the interesting choices of non rib items; like the grilled bologna sandwich or the mac n cheese sandwich. After speaking to the waitress, we also tried the banana pudding. That made the trip worthwhile. It is a fluffy sweet dream!

(DISCLAIMER... see bottom) Work in progress.. that's my hope at least. Second visit to this place, take out several times. I love the potential of this place. The amazing story behind this place gives it a great enthusiasm and build up. I disagree with fellow Yelpers saying the location is bad. The modern look and feel of this place is a great addition to Maryville and could be an icon of our developing city. "Cheap food aint good and good food aint cheap." (Quote in their restaurant, above the expo line) I can't agree with this statement more; a bold statement that deserves to be lived out. But that's just the problem. I was not swept off my feet by the food as much as I'd like to have been. The texas toast was okay, but was slightly soggy. The okra did not have that much of a taste to them , in fact they were barely coated with flour, great for my diet, but not my taste buds. George's chicken was really good and the sauce was lightly glazed which let u enjoy the taste of the chicken that was in fact very juicy. The Mayors Beans was the best part; sweet with pinnapple gives it a really nice twist. The dessert i had was really good.it was a cookie with ice cream. The cookie was beyond good. The homemade ice cream was okay but the lightness of it was not reallt enough to reduce the sweetness of the cookie which is the goal. I have had the banna pudding before and it is to die for! As for the three sauces were good but nothing majorly spicy: I really liked the Dead End Hot wing sauce, the flavor and spiciness was spot on. Here's my concern. The main hoorah, the pulled pork was dry and the ends were burnt, the taste was nothing out of this world. As a single young man, I know when I taste something reheated, there is no way that was fresh and I would have gladly ordered something else if it was too late to order the pulled pork if in fact they do this after a certain time of day. I arrived prior to closing time and I understand the rush to leave, but was not a reason to be any less good than peak hours. A restaurant is expected to be good all the time and u learn a lot about a place during this rush. A few other observations of concern: the sticky men's bathroom floor (please use some cleaner not just spread it around), there was water in the kitchen doorway everyone walked past and slipped but would not clean up (OSHA/workmans comp situation waiting to happen!), there seemed to be too many staff members there for a total of 3 tables of customers and a gentlemen at the bar and with the wide open dinning area you see everyone there (gives the place a dead feeling (pun intended). Our waiter Mike was very good and was honest in the menu selection; I appreciate that in any person (I will always ask them on their knowledge and suggestions of the menu). There was a waitress walking around with a tank top on with customers still around, after a long day of work, not the best thing, (honestly though, it was very hot for a restaurant and it did feel humid.) same waitresses was in a booth with a cigarette as I was leaving...not at all acceptable anywhere. That is unappetizing and frankly hygene and the staff make or break the overall look of the place. This place has a lot of potential, but currently the dream is stalled. I am confused as to the style of restaurant it is ( looks like a BWW, fine dining, or causal dining, identity crisis?). The claim is tex-mex but I dont see it that much. This looks like a great place as a casual sports restaurant, especially with the garage door patio, i would not mind watching a game here. With BBQ season upon us, I would like to see them make that intersection into a popular destination. Some upgrades in policies and cleanliness would benefit this place. Due to the old tasting pork and cleanliness obeservations I cannot give this place a higher rating. I will be back and hope to have a better experience. I want to truly see the vision in the story this place was meant to be and their quote be fullfilled. (Disclaimer: While I know a person who works here, no prior knowledge of this restaurant was used in this review or was taken into consideration. The review was entirely based on observations while present at the location all second hand information good or bad was omitted and not used for consideration.)

I absolutely love this place! This location specifically. It's new, clean, the waitress we had was so sweet and attentive (I asked to try a beer and she brought it in a champagne flute which was way cute) and to top it off they play the best modern Americana music around! If you go, you gotta get a few of the staples... To start definitely the Bar-B-Queso. It's a cheese dip with your choice of BBQ meat on top (cough cough get brisket cough cough) served with Frito's of course! Cause this is America! And the south! Holla! Pro tip: if you have access to French fries, dip those in the cheese. So good! ATL people: it's similar to the Vortex Fondue. Their sweet potato fries/chips are the bomb dot net. Served with some amazing sauces that just make me so happy. (I think it's a pineapple one and a chipotle one) The Banana Pudding is also quite good. It's hard to go wrong or mess up banana pudding, but you can definitely tell it's fresh and not like insanely sweet. The fiancé loved his wings, he got the dead hot ones and they honestly weren't THAT spicy, but I prefer that. BBQ is obviously great, though I prefer ribs elsewhere (sorry Dead End!) Idk why the scores are so low for this location but it is SOLID, I promise.

My wife, my sister and I were headed to the Thai place - Lemongrass, I think it's called. My sister isn't real adventurous when it comes to food, so we usually stick to the same few places when we visit. Lemongrass is competent and a good value, so I don't mind going there often. But I prefer to try new stuff all the time. I'll only have so many dinners over my lifetime, you know? Have to make do with the number of meals I'm allotted. My wife and I saw this place as we were headed through town. It's very attractive, and at lunchtime it was smelling pretty enticing as we drove by. So when my sister said she was up for something new, we turned in here. Now, I've said it before and I'll say it again and again - barbecue is personal. Some people like sweet, some like dry, some like hot, some like beef and some pork and yadda YADDA. Personally, I don't think their bbq is all that great. You, however, might. You'd be wrong, of course, but that's your prerogative! No, seriously, I've had better, and I've had much better. (Have definitely had worse, though.) The sauce was loud and boring at the same time. It's tuned for families, I think, where you have to keep mom, dad, the kids and granny happy all at the same meal. It's for the girls' softball team, for when you want to reward them for winning the all-city championship, but have to go somewhere where Tammy and Nikeesha, one of whom is on a diet and the other doesn't eat anything that even smells like carrots or has a "g" in the name, will at least nibble at, so they don't kill the buzz. You know those places. The ribs were OK, and there were a lot of them, but - meh. I had the chicken thing, the dealie-o that they're famous for and won an award for and all, but I thought the ribs were better. The Texas toast under the chicken that should have sopped up nice, tasty bbq chicken drippings just sort of sopped up chicken. Whatever. OK, just not all that great. The sides were mediocre, too, particularly the okra. Now that's a crime. Fried okra should be lightly breaded with corn meal or whatever your fave golden-brown, fat-sopping, crunch-inducing starchy substance is. Light breading lets you taste the okra inside, which, properly fried, is one of the most delicately sweet veggies there is. This okra was completely overcome by an unnecessarily thick coating of ... bread crumbs, I think. That's not bad in itself - I've had good bread-crumb-encrusted okry. But these weren't those. Darn. We passed on dessert. Too depressed. The place was really clean. Service was OK. Our waiter was kind of taciturn and had that young-redneck-guy scowl at first, and was kind of inattentive. I was ready to give him the old two-penny tip for his troubles, but then he admitted he had a toothache. My silly sister wondered if he'd been to see a dentist. The young fellow looked a little puzzled, then told us about the home remedy he was looking forward after his shift. Yeah. Good luck with that. Eh, go there if you want. It wasn't for me. (Or my wife or sister.)

Good atmosphere & attentive service! Good music playing & plenty of TVs throughout for sports viewing! Great buffalo wings & the beef brisket & cheddar sandwich was the best my husband ever had! Good beer selection also! I'm not sure why this place has gotten bad reviews because we are giving it a thumbs up!! This place was recently voted on of the top 100 BBQ spots in the U.S.!

Don't waste your money or time at this place! The food is like cafeteria BBQ at 4 star prices, all combined with lousy service. My wife and I have tried this place several times and it has never gotten better. We will not be there again.

Had to go and try this out, as we love BBQ.....The building is modern, the tables and booths black, the floor cement.....the music was loud and had that pounding monotony of bass that is more annoying than enjoying. The service was prompt and friendly. The BBQ sauce is VERY HOT.....even their mildest offering. We prefer a Kansas City or Memphis type sauce...or even Sweet Baby Rays.....This had more of a vinegar base, and may I repeat, their mild sweet sauce was HOT !! The pulled pork was moist and tasty, slightly overcooked, but okay. There wasn't a hint of a smoky taste, I'm pretty sure there isn't a pit in the back of this place. The portion size of the pulled pork was meager....The sweet potato chips [cut like waffle fries] were the best part of the meal. The chicken was dry chicken breast without a smoky flavor.....worse than the pork by far. A large portion though. Choke it down or smother it with sauce was the option.....!! My friend smothered it with sauce and tried to drown the fire with beverage.....and he's enjoys spicy. His portion of cole slaw was small, and the taste was unremarkable....nothing unique at all. The corn on cob was tender, but again, nothing more special than you can get at KFC. The Texas Toast was on the small side as well....not the large slices we expected. All in all, it was a disappointing experience, we'll be heading to Calhoun's or back to Famous Dave's the next time we want some Que.....

The Mrs. and I tried it on Wed.3/12/14 at around 11:30 AM. We both ordered the pulled pork sandwich plate. The waiter was quick and friendly. The food arrived in a short time and was hot. That is the only thing good I can say! The meat was so dry, and had to be drowned in bbq sauce to swallow it. The French fries had so much salt and seasoning that they were almost uneatable. For me, the food is much overpriced for the quality. We will not go back!!! BG
