Okay, I am a Detroit girl. I am not an expert on ribs or BBQ or southern cooking. I do know what I like. My husband is working in the area for a while and Prater's came highly recommended. And it wasn't these ribs! Barbecue? I don't think they were this day. Just very bland, no zip, nothing special in the sauce. Sides were average. If this is the best that the area has, then I will stick with the chain places. Sorry, Prater's - you didn't get my vote. It's also very loud on the nights with a singer. Turn the volume down a touch so people can talk and enjoy themselves. The singer was actually pretty good, but just so blasted loud.

Got to go four stars on here. First, we ordered take out so the table service is an unknown. We ordered pulled pork and beef brisket to go along with 3 of those Bacon Chicken baked potatoes. We were given plenty of sauce, both sweet and hot, to cover all and then some. Had two large sides of cole slaw and potato salad. Pulled pork and brisket, very good. The cole slaw, a little wet. The potato salad was good. The baked potato items were okay to good. Take out service was good and quick. My first impression: I'm a fan. Am I going back a 2nd time when in the area: sure.

Love it! Simple and delicious We were not sure about it but I'm so glad we did it! Great food for a reasonable price. I recommend the lunch special; you can pick a chicken, pork or beef with two sides and beverage included $7.50

A guy in the hotel lobby was raving about this place so we went to give it a try. Very good BBQ! The ribs were excellent - gooey and smoky. The slaw was delicious and the beans had the right amount of smoke. Our waitress was very good. Good food, quick service, clean and neat but with a local bar vibe.

I believe if you offer an item on your menu although your main offering is bbq, then you should expect it to be cooked correctly. I ordered a medium steak and what I got was a bleeding piece of meat that any good veterinarian could of had on its feet in 5 minutes. The singer that was providing music was Really Good unfortunately it was way too loud when your server has to lean over your table and yell to take your order. They did take the steak off the bill and I order a bbq sandwich with fries. Bbq was tasteless and looked like it had been sitting in hot water and the fries were so over seasoned I couldn't eat them. The potato salad was nothing but mustard. Our server was adequate but overall it was NOT worth any money exchanging hands.

So if you want good BBQ, here is the place. If you want good service, go somewhere else. Our waitress checked on us once and we had to go get her to ask for the check and when she dropped the check off and left, we had to take it to her to pay out. So here's a tip, when someone asked for their check, there is a better than not chance that they are wanting to leave!! The meat was good but the chicken tenders were a little dry and over cooked. The potato salad was just regular. I would eat here again but only takeout.

Stopped in on a weeknight during our road trip through Tennessee. Great food and good prices, fantastic bbq and sides, and i recommend the jalapeno poppers. Looks like it would be a fun place to hear live music.

Best Bar-B-Que chicken and brisket and ribs I've ever had! Live music after 7pm, lots of local fun. All the free salted peanuts you can shell! The servers are really nice and very attentive.

the owner of Two Purple Pigs is now in cahoots with this successful bbq place and the results are just great! This location that was Two Purple Pigs (easy interstate on and off) is open and good as ever! So glad to find it open again, brisket is excellent!

Very good service and food. Ordered 2 appetizers, which was a mistake as they were huge, wish they offered smaller orders to try. The pickles were great, mushroom just ok. We each ordered something different, but I will only review my food. Loved the baby back ribs and sweet potato fries were yummy! Very big serving and our server was attentive and nice. Had leftovers from a half rack, fries and apps! Looking forward to going here again.

They certainly have the best smoked brisket in the area. Which is important for a non pig eater! The fries are well seasoned, and I like the hot BBQ sauce. I like to go on evenings when there is live music, it is usually a pretty good time.

I am always excited to try new bbq resturants, but this one was a utter let down. I had the pork plate, worse bbq I have ever had. Very bland taste like they had the sitting in a bowl of water before serving. The sides were about the same. First time I can remember leaving half my food on my plate and leaving. Very disappointed!!!!

Greated by very friendly people. Great looking BBQ place. Am glad we saw the sign on I24. Amazing. The ribs were off the chain. The smoked wings were awesome as well. Everything was fast and made to order. We are really happy with the service, cleanliness and hospitality. If you can...stop here. It's not a long wait and it's a very fun place to be.

Solidly good, but not exceptional. "Ranch Beans" are chili flavored. 1.5 sauce options; one house bbq sauce, and a "hot" version which is pretty much straight hot sauce. Potato salad was good, it had a strong mustard flavor. Prices were very reasonable, service was adequate but not exceptional. Overall, I'd come back but I wouldn't drive far. Luckily it's right off the highway.

Service is good, not extremely fast. We ordered appetizers and they came at the same time as the entree. The burger isn't a big part of the menu and I believe it's because the meat isn't all that tasty. The cheese sticks we had we're hand battered and really delicious however the fries were soggy and tasted like fish, which is alright but not if you're eating a hamburger. The atmosphere here is pretty nice with the outdoor music, and tin wrapped inside. Most of the food we ordered with the exception of the fries were pretty cold when it came out. Overall this is a nice place for a quick bite but not a place you'll intentionally come back for.

A great down home spot, just off the interstate, with great BBQ. Although the servers are sweet as pie, they're less than attentive. I recommend this place for those traveling by.

The wife and I decided to have our Valentines Dinner at our local BBQ house. We were looking for a nice simple southern meal. When we arrived we were greeted, seated and drink orders were taken in great timing and we were feeling good about the service. Sadly after that it went all downhill and fast. We placed our food order of a pulled pork sandwich plate with fries for the wife and a brisket sandwich plate with salad and slaw for myself. After our server left to run our order we overheard another server offer her table a "Valentines Special". A special that our server failed to mention. We asked our server about it and she said she didn't think we would want it cause I ordered beer. That was honestly the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Actually we would have bought it had we known about it since it was our favorite steaks for a steal. So my salad comes and two minutes later our entree's come. So not wanting my main course to go cold I had to forget about my salad. First my brisket was 80% fat and absolutely no flavor. The slaw was dreadful. Then my wife said her pulled pork was dry and the fries tasted like fish. We were thoroughly disappointed! The. We let the manager know about the problems and she said she was sorry and walked off. About five minutes later the waitress comes back and offered a reduced ticket by a whole $3. WOW!!! The manager couldn't even bring the check as she should have. Worst Valentines Dinner experience! To sum it up: Poor Service Poor & Bland Food Lazy Management Overall: Not worth your time or money!

Had lunch here on our way back north. Just proves you can't rely on someone else's review. We each had the pulled pork sandwich platter. One with sweet potato and the other with potato salad and beans. Both the service and lunch were very good.
