Terrible. I do not understand the popularity of this place. I chose a basic italian meal, spaghetti and meatballs. I am not a food snob, or any way a picky eater. This meal was horrendous. The salad was super fresh and delicious though. The bread was much ado about nothing. My daughter got immediately sick in the parking lot on the chicken alfredo. Not sure why but it passed after she puked.

While the Olive Garden will (or at least should) never be anyone's favorite Italian restaurant, it is a decent meal at a decent price. My mom came in to visit and the seven of us went there for lunch. Noon on Saturday during Christmas season can be a nightmare anywhere, but we were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait. The waiter was good, the breadsticks were nicely garlicly, the salad yummy and the food - decent. The ravioli was fine, the fish not bad and the pizza fair. Certainly not a raving revue, but not a slam either

Great food, great service. Been here several times over the past year and they are consistent! Just try to go between 2 and 4- any other time and your looking at at least a 20 minute wait for seating.

Stepping out to compliment an unexpected experience with a great server (they are becoming extinct) and some nice surprises at an Olive Garden lunch. Yes, Olive Garden! Had to drag the lunch-date here; but I was craving salad/soup after an an out-of-the-way errand. Struggled betwen 3 and 4 stars. For review purposes, the server was a 5, and it was clear he'd (Peter B.) would consistently be a 5. So if you don't have time take in the whole review... just call ahead and see if Peter is there, and request him, for weekday lunch. At 1pm, at a clearly uncrowded restaurant, we should have never had to wait to be seated. The host and seater were grasping at English and the computer system. Once seated at our table with 4 rolling chairs, I was glad it wasn't crowded, and could push the 2 extra aside. We had too many menus, two titled PRONTO!, but none saying anything close to Lunch. Luckily, knew what I wanted and went to searching for something he would possibly like. Enter, Peter. Who asked for our drink order and if we had any questions. The only delay in the drinks was the couple who I believe I heard ask him "What is the difference between ravioli and canneloni?" Wow. Need to just highlight now. 1) +Date didn't know which soup (if any) sounded good, and was brought out a complimentary sampler of all 4. 2) -Too many menus. Again, not one that clearly said lunch, and we were in no hurry, but you couldn't have a lunch there on a traditional lunch-hour. 3)+My water was refilled many times without asking (which matters so much more than the lemon I was asked if I wanted, but never received.) 4) +The soup bowls are now deeper, breaking against the trend of most restaurants. 5) +The soup was hot with signficantly more delicious ingredients than broth, so there was no need to order bowl after bowl. 6) - The mushrooms were not as described in the menu, and not hot. 7) +The chef, in full uniform (yes, hat) came to the table and asked if we enjoyed our meal. Which we had. 8) + Peter asked if we needed anything else or anything to go, and I felt he was sincerely ok that I asked for water to go. (And it had a lemon in it!) Don't know when or if I'll be back, (just because of location) but I hope many other people enjoy as great experience at Olive Garden and leave as full and with renewed hope for chains!

As usual, the appetizer order totally sucked. The server was sweet and attentive - food mediocre at best.

I love me some pasta, but this time I went with their lighter fare option. Baked tilapia and shrimp with broccoli. It was very good. It has a white cream sauce and came with a lemon which they had placed on the grill for a minute to warm and brown the end. The lemon really brought out the flavor with the white cream sauce and fish. Totally good! I was here at 12:30 for lunch and had very prompt service.

Worst service ever. Do not go unless you have hours to wait on servers who don't know salad dressing from iced tea. It is not often I am so angry over service that I want my money back but this is one. I would rather have canned ravioli than ever go back to this restaurant.

This place is just great. The food is just spectacular. The breadsticks, the salad, the calamari, the pasta, it's just too much!!! But it's awesome. They made a couple of mistakes but other than that, Italy in Tennessee!

Went here for dinner this afternoon and was highly satisfied with the entire experience. For starters, our waiter was very respectful and on top of his game, quickly replenishing the drinks, salad, and breadsticks. Every staff member we encountered kindly acknowledged us and made sure we got what we needed. It's hard to find this kind of service these days, so I will definitely be returning often. I live about 25 minutes away in Mount Juliet where there is also an Olive Garden, but because of the great experience I had at this location, the drive will be worth it to get this kind of service again.

I have been eating at Olive Garden for a long time, but not that I can remember since having gone gluten free 3 years ago. We were in a rush and needed to get some food on the way home after a long trip, and fast food just wasn't sounding good, so we thought hey why not? Olive Garden has that Zuppa Tuscana (Tuscan soup) with kale and sausage and potatoes, and it's pretty great. That should be GF, right? Well, they weren't really sure if the sausage was gluten free (what sausage isn't), but they confirmed that there was no flour in the broth, so I went for it. My wife noticed that they offer GF noodles, so she asked for a noodle dish with those. The soup was as expected...yummy and filling. The wait was long and pretty disappointing on a not busy Sunday night, especially when we only had 2 items and one of them was soup. Why order to-go when you sit in the parking lot for 30 minutes waiting? Anyway, the food comes out, we get back on the road, and my wife makes a joke about hoping that they didn't cook the GF noodles in the same water they do the regular ones in. I say "they wouldn't offer GF noodles if they didn't have separate water for them." Then she opens the container, and there are easily 10+ pieces of various wheat noodles (a couple spaghetti strands, a linguini strand, a couple of penne noodles, etc) scattered amongst the extremely overcooked rice/corn/quinoa/whatever GF noodles, which are some kind of swirly trumpet shape. Pretty disappointing after such a long wait. I can't imagine going back there, because after all of that discussion with the hostess about gluten in the soup, and then ordering GF noodles for the pasta, they just dumped the noodles into their vat of "everything" noodle water. The GF noodles may have actually cost a bit more, too, but I can't remember to be honest. If we hadn't been so tired and ready to be done with that day, we would have taken it back or gotten our money back or something. Don't offer GF noodles on your menu if you aren't going to take the most basic of precautions. I'm surprised they don't offer GF noodles dipped in beer batter and fried.

Service was great even though it was very busy. Food was perfect and fast and finally a waiter that knew how to do his job! Jonathan H. Was an awesome server I recommend asking for him next visit. This is probably the only time this location has been rated this high before by me but hopefully won't be the last!

This was an enderwhelming experience all around. We have been to this Olive Garden maybe 5 times in the 2 years we have lived in the area. We normally sit in the bar and Jackson waits on us, and he is great. But we opted for the dining room last night...big mistake. Our server took an infinity to greet us which consisted of a look at us and telling us she'd be back, and she was about 5 minutes later. She only had 3 and 4 tables in her section that we counted while we where there, yet she was really slow about everything and seemed hurried everytime she came to our table, which was not often. The salad took forever to come, then the app took about another 15 minutes to come after the salad. She checked on us once and said the kitchen never got the ticket (did she mean she had a "pocket check'? and if so, she should have fessed up, we would have been ok with that). She said "I talked to him, and he will be over to take care of it." We assume she meant a manager, but we never saw "him" whoever "he" was. Anyway, the app came late. We ordered a pick 2 of calamari and stuffed mushrooms. The stuffed mushrooms were ok but the calamari was a pitiful sized portion and cold. Our waitress didn't check back or anything and we didn't see her again until our food came, which took a while too. When we got it, the plates were hot, but the food was lukewarm, like the food had been sitting in the window for a very long time. I ordered the new dish, Chicken Soffatelli or something, and the whole thing just looked dead and was cold. My husband ordered Lasagna and it looked like it had been sitting in the window way too long as well. My husband and I are restaurant people, so we forgive a lot, especially if the server explains to us what is going on. But this server avoided us, it seems, and probably because our food was taking so long to get to us. THen to top everything off, we had to wait about 10 minutes for her to come back with the check and then we had to wait another 5 minutes for her to swing back by to cash us out. We probably won't be going back for a long time.

Never will I go to this OG again. We didn't wait long to be seated, but did wait to be initially greeted by the server. The first thing he asked was if we were on time constraints. Huh, why would you ask that? This was our first clue there were going to be problems. I explained that we had 2 toddlers with us (2 and 4) and that time was important to us. We were a party of 7 and the server did take our drink order and dropped the drinks off (no straws) and left. He took an eternity to return to take our order. He took our order and I asked for straws. They never arrived. I then asked another server for straws. He said he would get them and never did. We waited and we waited and at this point we are all out of drinks and finally our food shows up at the exact time the server finally brought us the breadsticks and salads. At that point they start to sit our food down while the server was watching. My SIL asks for our salads first and then they started to take our food away and said they'd remake it for us. We got a very small salad and about 5 breadsticks, which we finished pretty quickly. I asked for straws for a third time and extra napkins. This time we got the straws and 3 extra napkins. Yes 3 - for a table of 7 with 2 toddlers. Then it took quite a long time to get our regular order and never did we get a refill on breadsticks or salad. Our food was served and we asked for more breadsticks and salads. They did not bring the children's food. At this point they finally brought more salad and breadsticks, but still no food for the kids. We had to ask 2 different waiter for it. The kids food arrived when we were all done with our meals. We did not get refills on drinks regularly at any point. My brother worked as a managing partner for a Darden restaurant for many years, he could not believe the service we had and thought something would be comped considering the terrible service we had experienced. They brought our checks and nope, nothing was taken off. My SIL asked the server if they were going to consider comping anything and he just stared at us and then went and got another server who took 25% off. We explained to her all of the problems we had and were pretty upset. She basically said that's what they were going to do. We asked why a manager didn't come out and talk to us and she said that the managers were running the kitchen and she was helping cover the floor. I explained that 50% of our disappointment was because a manager didn't come out and apologize and address us directly. She then said she'd communicate this to the manager. She came back and they comped our entire check. But never once did a manager come out and talk to us. I will never visit the Madison OG ever again. Terrible service. I will say the server was very nice; however he was either very new, untrained or overworked. We were there for almost 2 hours. We were not looking for a free meal; just simply a nice night out with family.

Yelp says No to "accepts credit cards" but it does. Also great variety of food at decent prices. Service depends on the server you get and the busyness of the day. Most of the time it's great.

I've been to this location several times and find it to be OK. I have had good service and the food is on par for a chain. The problem is that some of the servers do not seem to think that customers have ears. When I go in for lunch I sit at the bar because I am typically alone and bar service is typically quicker. In the bar there is a station for servers from the floor to place orders. Every single time I am in that bar there are two to three of them standing around complaining about some issue or another. This to me is unacceptable. I understand how difficult customers can be, I deal with customers everyday all day. These servers should see that there are customers in earshot and be mindful of that. I will say one thing in the server's favor. There is this mentality out there that to go orders do not require work. This could not be further from the truth. While I am having lunch I will see at least 5 or 6 large to go orders and nobody ever leaves a tip. These people come from all backgrounds and give the server dealing with them a horrible time and they never tip. That is shameful. There is no wonder that servers get a little attitude when they have to deal with a to go order. My opinion is that if you want to treat people like they work at a fast food joint, then go eat at one!

Everything was "so-so". We were seated quickly during the 6:00 dinner bell in a Thursday night. Started off with the Frita appetizer, not horrible, but nothing to rave about. I ordered the mixed grill, comes with pieces of cooked to order steak, chicken, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The glaze was a little bitter. Reverted to the country buffet style of mixing meat and taters! Wife ordered the zete which she said was good. All in all mediocre at best. Service was decent.

Not sure what was going on during my last visit but it was enough to warrant a move to my do not return list. The service was incredibly slow. The restaurant was no busier than a normal Sunday afternoon. By the time we received our salad there was time for a family of 4 to have ordered, eaten their meal and paid. That's how long it took just to get the salad. It took so long that not within 5 minutes of filling our bowl did the entree arrive. My pasta dish was microwaved. the Alfredo was gooey and moved around the noodles like paste. This was the first time we've had such inadequate service at this location.

Alright, I'll admit it. I do like Olive Garden. The bread sticks and fresh salad are always good. We got there a little after the regular dinner hour and were seated right away. Service was prompt, efficient, and friendly. I had wine, my daughter had beer, and my wife had a Cosmo which she really liked. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was very good. I had the Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara and it was delicious and filling. I actually had to take some of it home, and that almost never happens to me. My wife enjoyed her Stuffed Chicken Marsala. They are featuring a buy-one, take-one special where you get two meals, one hot, and the other ready for reheating. My daughter tried the ravioli special and enjoyed it twice.

I am a fan of Olive Garden, and my fiance and I decided to come here for dinner during our date night, since I had a coupon to use. As it was Friday night, it was packed, so we had to wait for a bit for a table. The servers were friendly and the food was delicious. I ordered my favorite, the fettuccine alfredo, along with salad and breadsticks and an order of calimari. I also splurged and ordered an italian margarita, which was awesome. I gave 4 stars due to the service being slow at times, but again, it was a packed restaurant on a Friday night, so I won't complain too much. I hope to come back really soon! :)

Ordered the chicken Alfredo and for an app I gave the hummus a whirl. The Alfredo was just ok , nothing special. The server was very professional but a little stiff. He did a great job. Now the star of the show was the hummus! Yep surprised me also, but I would've eaten another order.

While our previous visit to this one left a lot to be desired service wise, this time things were much improved. Our server this time was very attentive and did not leave us waiting for long periods of time. She was also very friendly as well. The food we ordered was delivered in a reasonable amount of time at proper temperature and was very delicious. That being said, every year, the endless pasta bowl is one of the best deals Olive Garden has, especially when you consider that their coupons are few and far between. My only complaint is that I wish you could get shrimp as well as chicken and beef on your endless pasta. While it may be semi-overpriced Italian-American food, it is good semi-overpriced Italian American food that warms the body and soul.

Most definitely the best Italian I've had so far. I've heard people call it a "hole-in-the-wall" joint but this place is, by no stretch of the imagination, a hole-in-the-wall and even then, some of those places have the best food. I've been coming to this location for nearly 10 years and for me to keep on coming it has got to be good. The food is exceptional and even though it makes me sad that the portion size has dropped so much over those years, it's still just enough to fill you up. I always get the Fettuccine Alfredo w/chicken, sprinkle a little freshly grated parmesan cheese and it makes it even more fantastic! A must go if you've never been before because they've got a large menu and plenty of wines imported from Italy. The chefs were trained in Olive Garden's culinary institute in Italy and they've brought all their hard work to your table.

Typical Olive Garden food. The service was bad. We were promptly seated but no server came to the table. I had to ask the manager if we could get a server and he decided to take our order. I understand that during busy times the server may be delayed but it was not busy. I could see the hostess desk from where I sat and I watched as several employees stood there cracking jokes, laughing loudly, and not working. The manager did apologize for the delay and the server that eventually came to our table said she was not told that she was assigned to our table. I overheard the people behind us complain about their service as well.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
