Now HERE is a place you don't want to miss! This Yankee always has a hankering for the real thing when visiting other regions. I've only had the breakfast here, but it is DEE-LICIOUS! Actually, it's the whole package. The restaurant does not try to mimic the formulaic chains and has a plain good down home look about it. Nothing fancy. The coffee is great. Biscuits are yummy fluffy and light. If you want real country ham or delicious thick bacon, find it here! And the grits always are wonderful. Now why can't I make them that way?? Pancakes are good too. The wait staff is very friendly and doesn't make you feel like an outsider. Wonderful people, wonderful food, wonderful place! The price I indicated is for breakfast.

The looks of the diner are a little outdated but the food completely makes up for it! The burgers and tots were terrific and the servers were super friendly. The buffet was very popular (we were the only ones who didn't get the buffet!). Overall, highly recommend if you're in the area!

"So what do you recommend?" "Don't ask her. She cooked it all, so she's going to want you to have everything." Forget Cracker Barrel and Waffle House, this place cheered me up with its cafeteria-style homecooking. Once we walked in, they were just bringing in the smoked ribs, so I knew I had to get them. A nice dry rub of spices on some dark pink ribs with a nice mix of tendon and fat. I definitely could have eaten more of this. For sides, I had the kraut n' doggies, the fried apples, the broocoli with cheese, and the cornbread. Big fan of the kraut and somehow the little rounds of sausages were a good combo with the sourness. Cornbread was uneventful and the fried apples made for a nice dessert enough to make your teeth ache. And all this for just $7 something! On Fridays at 4 pm, they start having a Catfish dinner.

Frequent this place whenever I'm in the area for lunch. Very reasonably priced Meat and 3 for lunch. Wide mix of local customers from all walks of life frequent this place, white and blue collar guys. Makes no matter, all feel welcome. Large homemade portions. Homemade deserts. Coconut Cream Meringue Pie and Banana Pudding can't be beat. I do believe that fried chicken day is my favorite day. Haven't ever had breakfast there, so I can't speak to that.

This is a GREAT place to eat. My family came down from Chicago to visit and I picked them up in Nashville. We wanted to try something different than the regular chain restaurants for breakfast. We stumbled upon City Limits Cafe just outside of Lebanon, TN. This atmosphere was down to earth and soooo friendly. The food was some of the best home cooking I ever had. The biscuits and gravy were the BEST. This place was so great, we decided to stop back again on our way back after our visit to Gatlinburg. So many options for breakfast and lunch....definitely a place to stop and eat. You will get everything you could ask for....all for a reasonable average of $6 to $8. Definitely a place to stop if you are hungry and on I-40 just east of Nashville.

Read the reviews and have been trying to eat here for a month but they aren't open on the weekends. Sauerkraut and weiners, fried potatoes, broccoli and a roll. This isn't my favorite meal but sounded good for nastalgia as Mom made this when I was a kid. It was spot on, really good with a certain degree on nastiness. Tasted just like Mom's! The Coconut Cream pie was some of the best I've ever had.
