My husband loves the oysters and I love his big smile when we go! The only hold back for the 5th star is that they need a longer oyster bar. Many times it is full when we come and my honey won't sit at a table for oysters. Vote for more oyster bar!

We got an email telling us they had $1.50 Draft Shiner and $1 oysters. When we got there they told us they no longer had Shiner and we asked for another draft for the same price and were told that nothing was available. We asked for the manager and told him about his email and apparently he didn't believe us and he checked online and then told that they had made a mistake on the email. We ended up eating there but management didn't seem to care if we every came back.

One of the best meals, ever. Anywhere. And we eat out ALOT. I orderd the blackened grouper and my husband had the swordfish. It compared to meals we ate in the Bahamas where our fish was so fresh from where it came directly out of the water. We also got an appetizer and dessert, both were delicious. Drinks were great too. It was a bit pricey, but very much worthy for fish of this quality in this area. Our waiter was beyond awesome. Will definitely be back.

Lunch at Shuck's was great! I began with the clam chowder which was delicious. It had a nice flavor to it and was not creamy as most chowders are, but perfect as is. For my entree I ordered the half shrimp po' boy with chips. The small cup of slaw that came with it was very dry, essentially no mayo. It was mediocre. The chips were very good, but they are just chips. The shrimp po' boy though, was absolutely delicious. It was the best po' boy I've ever had. As for the restaurant and service I was pleased. They do not offer typical salad dressings which made me order the chowder (which was a great choice). The restaurant is nice, clean, and very inviting. It is a laid back type of restaurant/bar. The service was decent. Our waitress was okay but not overly nice or talkative. Overall I gave it a 4/5. If a return trip produces a similar experience, I will definitely be rating a 5/5 and be living here for lunch and dinner daily!

Again, since the ocean is pretty far from Tennessee, the seafood prices are a little higher than I'm used to having to spend. With all that said, this place was pretty tasty. I was definitely missing lobster in my lobster bisque, but the flavor was good. The oysters were also big and delicious. Definitely filling...

OYSTERS CHIMI ALL DAY EVERYDAY. Their lobster bisque is also phenomenal and the fish tacos can't be beat (I love the 135), especially when they are $5. They make some fresh and delicious cocktails, but also have rotating beers on tap and they're normally not playin. The happy hour & Sunday specials offer great deals. I love both the patio & indoor atmosphere and Michala is a fantastic server!

Oh my goodness, I sure do love Sundays at Shuck! The $1 oyster special on the "happy hour all day" list really can't be beat. The po boys are also phenomenal! I recommend substituting french fries for the chips that normally come with them. Their fries are delicious. The drinks are also pretty great. Try the Bloody Mary for sure--the staff is good about spicing it up to your specifications. I have yet to try a craft cocktail I didn't enjoy here!

You can have a great filling lunch for around $12.00. The oysters on the half always taste fresh. They have good variety of expensive oysters, but the house oysters are excellent Chesapeake bay oysters. They have a good draft beer selection and also make some creative specialty cocktails. Very casual atmosphere. Excellent happy hour.

I much prefer this location to the "original", recently closed downtown location. The menu is a little different with more non-seafood options for those in your party who aren't down with all the seafood options. One of my favorite things I've tried here is the citrus crudo, which is ahi tuna, ruby red grapefruit, fresh jalapenos, and drizzled with good olive oil and salt and pepper. The tower is popular and pretty tasty, but it is alarming in its presentation more than appealing. It is so big and stuffed onto the plate it just goes everyone. They should consider a bigger platter or different serving late. Good solid brunch menu with $3 mimosas, bloody mary's, and poinsettias.

OK, I gotta do this. Sorry guys. We have been frequent patrons of Shuck. We were thrilled that a business was filling the empty void left by Chez Liberty. We were even more thrilled when we tried Shuck for the first time. We love oysters. And they have a great selection. The calamari was the bomb. Steaks to die for. I'm here to tell you, it was an exquisite feast. Nothing, I mean NOTHING, disappointed!!! Every item on the menu was gourmet and worth the extra ducats. Everything was great including the staff. Always friendly, quick to get another drink and not too overbearing. Then came the disappointment. We have been regular customers since the place opened. One day we went in and the oysters were good and the service was good. But all the cooked items were a serious disappointment. We chalked it up as an anomaly and assumed our next trip things would be back to normal. So, we happily returned craving a great Shuck feast. Once again the oysters and staff were great. But the cooked items were awful. We are truly disappointed. It pains me to write this review. We really do love the place. However, it is highly unlikely that we will return. At prices like that, you gotta have your "A Game" rollin every time a plate leaves the kitchen. Let's face it, any fool can shuck oysters. I love other people to do it for me. But this fool's gonna stay at the house and shuck his own. We will miss the great staff. We hope that the owners and management can fix whatever went wrong.

Just got back from the beach and couldn't be happier to find great raw seafood here in Knoxville! Our server Christopher was very helpful and friendly. Great laid back atmosphere and delicious food. Will definitely be back!

I went there with a friend the other night and it was a fantastic experience. The ambience was great, the employees were all very nice, and the food was impressive. Our oysters came out a bit late, but the manager was quick to respond and even took them off of the bill. There wasn't even a need for that, but this restaurant is all about good customer service. I'll definitely be back soon!

In regards to service and professionalism, this was the worst experience I can remember having in a restaurant. To go into detail would require more time and typing than this ordeal was worth. All I will tell, is that the training and actions of the staff are not conducive to the prices charged.

I'm from Knoxville and I've been spoiled by being able to travel around the country in the last few years where some of the best seafood is available, Seattle, San Diego and even where I live near DC where you can get some decent somewhat local seafood from the Chesapeake Bay. I have to say I wasn't expecting fresh, quality seafood like this in my home state. The selection of oysters was excellent, the lobster roll was spot on, and the fish tacos were delicious. The roll may have been a little expensive for what you get but considering what it takes to get good lobster here I can understand a bit of a price hike. The place is a bit small so if you show up around dinner time especially on a Friday-Sunday night expect a bit of a wait. We took seats at the oyster bar which isn't the most conducive for conversing with your party but the oyster shuckers are there to talk to and keep you entertained. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the food quality and service was good, so I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for fresh seafood.

Shuck is way beyond my usual price range, as I am cheap. Cheap as hell. That said, once in a great while I will willingly splurge on a good, a-bit-above-my-price-range meal, and I am totally fine with doing that at Shuck. I had a Laughing Skull Amber Ale on draft, and my friend sampled at least three different draft beers, all tasty. We ordered six oysters on the half-shell to split between us, and my friend got fish and chips, while I got a pound of crab legs. Our server was awesome, and checked on us frequently. She was friendly, and attentive. The atmosphere of the place was nice, and the music on the radio wasn't god-awful, or terribly loud. There's a bar and booths, along with the outdoor patio area. The inside was clean, well-lit, and not cluttered. So, the food: Everything was amazing. The lobster bisque I got with my meal was creamy, and glorious. The crab legs were tender, and buttery even without being dipped in butter (but you can bet I soaked them in it like a heathen). The slaw was excellent, not wilted (like I've had at other places), but crunchy. My friend enjoyed his fish and chips, and the oysters were a real surprise. I can't say I expected much from oysters in Tennessee, but I was gladly proven wrong. I could've eaten those all day. Some of the items on the Shuck menu do look a little pricey for how little food is there, while others are reasonable. Considering the quality of the food, I can't really gripe too much. Just having an awesome seafood place so close to home is good enough for me.

The food was great. We had the house oysters, tuna sashimi, and some grits. The food was so good we decided to make this our spot for our anniversary. I was pleasantly surprised by the food considering I think of BBQ when I think of Knoxville!

Came for lunch today and was extremely dissapointed. Horrible service. Managers sitting at the bar doing absolutely nothing. Server didn't bring the dozen oysters i ordered before my meal. My wife had the greek salad with shrimp which came with no shrimp. When we addressed the issue the server brought out four of the most pathetic shrimp I have ever seen. There were 5 of us all with the general consensus that this was one of the worst experiences in recent memory. Save your time and money.

Had dinner tonight and it was a roller coaster. The wine list was small but very interesting. I enjoy seeing a well thought out list and there's is spot on. Started with the Italian take on tuna and was blown away. Raw tuna with a great EVO, sea salt, pepper and basil was simple and delicious. I had the Stack and was very pleased my wife had scallops and was very disappointed. Three scallops a small serving of spinach and fried onions priced at $26 left us scratching our head. The flavor was fine but nothing special. Caramel cake for dessert was good but the coffee was cold. The waiter was ok but seemed uncomfortable and rushed. The overall impression was 3 stars with a 5 star potential. It was the kind of experience that was so close that it left me saying... Aw Shucks.

First, the good news. We had a great food/service experience at the downtown location of Shucks. And the folks are nice at Shucks in Bearden, as well. But, at least a couple of items on the Sunday brunch menu at the Bearden location could use some serious improvement. First, I ordered a mimosa that tasted more like a watered down orange drink with a little champagne. Where was the OJ? Secondly, my main entree was suppose to be a seafood omelette with shrimp, crabmeat, spinach and tomato. I think I counted three or four tiny shrimp, a spoonful of crabmeat and even less spinach and tomato. Bottomline: most of the omelette was egg. And for $11, I think it was reasonable to expect a hearty omelette. Lastly, my husband ordered the special, which was a chorizo fritatta. While the red pepper sauce that surrounded the frittata was delicious, again, the frittata was mostly egg. I realize seafood is not cheap, but scrimping on the shrimp is never a good idea if you want customers to return.
